Peter Parker Quest: Issue #72
Side A: The Whole Sky/Side B: Sprinter (deleted track)

Your name is Peter Parker.

You are currently...

Sitting down you try to remember. Where you're sitting, you're not sure. So starting from the beginning you try to remember.

Life was a daily tedium, wasn’t it? Every weekday, you went to Midtown High. And every school day, you did your best, exceeding everybody’s expectations with your outrageously good scores. Every day, there was talk about how you have such a bright future ahead of you.

>1/?
>>
>>39676987
And every day, you had to deal with Flash. His name isn’t really Flash, it’s Eugene. Eugene Thompson. But, if you ever called him that, he’d beat you up.

>Every day, everyone piled their expectation upon you, didn't they? You were fine doing things as you wanted. Living a nice, peaceful life.

Yeah, but then you went on the fieldtrip to the science fair. You sat down with your friend Harry Osborn. Refusing him his offer of his father's influence to help you with Flash, the two of you chatted on the way there and Harry teased you on your crush on Gwen Stacy.

When the two of you arrived, Harry got called away by his father, leaving you to be partnered with Gwen Stacy. The two of you ended up decided to...

>Go see the reptile exhibit, right?

...Yeah. That sounds right. You and Gwen decided to have a chance to talk to Doctor Connors.

>2/?
>>
>>39677014
The man was a bit awkward but enthusiastic about his sciences and you found yourself in a thrilling conversation with both him and Gwen on the subject of gene therapy taking on the characteristics of lizard traits, such as regeneration. Connors offered the both of you his card if you were ever interested.

As the Fieldtrip called itself to an end, you found yourself talking about all sorts of sciences with Gwen. She seemed to be more focused on biological sciences while you had more a bent toward mechanical engineering. Your jaw felt about ready to fall off by the end of the day from all the smiling you did and you had to constantly keep wiping your palms when Gwen didn't notice.

When you head back to the bus, you find yourself meeting back up with Harry. He looks a bit weary, barely flushed and seems like he's started to catch something. Pulling him aside, you ask him about it and find that he inhaled something. He's feeling fine, though, so he should be fine as he tried to needle you about your 'date' with Gwen.

But you're not having any of it.

….

What happened next? Well, it progressed pretty normally. Harry got treatment for whatever he got exposed to and stuck by your side, thick as thieves. When Gwen's harasser started to up his creeping act you and Harry stopped him and got him reported to the school authorities. Soon after, the Black Cat appeared.

As did 'The Spider-man.” Rather big and burly in a red and blue spandex outfit, he encountered and tried to catch the Black Cat. He failed, but in the process managed to accidental cause J. Jonah Jameson's arm to get broken. From that point on, Everyone knew of the Daily Bugle's message. Spider-man was a menace to your fair city.

But honestly, that wasn't really any of your concern. You and Gwen had started dating and things couldn't be better. Well, until your creepy neighbor and old tormentor showed up. But, overall, things turned out alright. Aunt May approved of Gwen, after all.

>3/?
>>
>>39677014
Oh god, the Anti-Spirals have gotten a hold of us.
>>
>>39677036
And everything was going going great. Iron Man made his appearance while Gwen confessed her plans to going into forensic crime analysis with the police and you...

>Continued on with your daily life. Not bothered by being forced to stick your neck out for tohers, horrible conspiracies or otherwise. It was a normal, ordinary life.

That isn't right... You.. That isn't...

>“But its what you wanted isn't it? Not to have to lie to everyone you loved to keep them safe. Not having to worry about getting hurt and hurting others. Not being in the spotlight. Just living a life you could control by yourself. Has you not been so distracted, you might have been able to save Harry from himself. You'd have never exposed Gwen to these dangers. You'd never have to deal with people out for your life if you'd been able to keep your head down. SHIELD would have meant nothing to you. HYDRA, your parents deaths. It would have all been a closed case you could walk away from. The fate of the city would have never been forced into your hands.

>“It would have been someone else's problems.”

That... you'd never thought that.

>”From the beginning, you never stopped wishing that spider had never bit you or Gwen. That you'd never found that harddrive. The truth is, you don't care about helping people if it dragged you out of your lab and away from what you clung to that remained of your ordinary, plant-like life. To be honest, even I don't want to admit it, as your biggest fan.”

The figure that spoke with your voice pushes at you with a skeletal hand. You try to reach out towards the figure, but the line keeping you here, a green chain no longer there. You feel your body accelerate as you fall towards a destination you cannot see.

>”Wake up.”

>4/5
>>
>>39677036
Ha hah, Spider-Flash.
>>
>>39677056
Your eyes snap open as you try to sit up. Groaning in pain, you lean back, eyes clenched shut in agony. Your body feels like it's made out of lead. Laying back into the bed, you listen to the rhythmic sounds of the machines nearby. When you think you're not about to sick over yourself, you crack open your eyes to find that your vision is blurry.

A figure leans over you. “Finally awake, sleepyhead?”

A male voice, familiar and wry is over you as your vision slide into place as glasses are slid over onto your face. Tony Stark's unshaven face grins down at you. “You look like how I feel Mister Parker. But you also should be dead, so small miracles, eh?”

The room seems to be a medical room and lab. There's no windows outside here, but there's a pretty heavy duty door as the only way in or out. Florescent lights light up the room. “JARVIS, don't tell old-one-eye sleeping beauty's awake yet, please.”

There a moment's delay before a synthesized voice responds. “Very Well, Sir.”

Sitting down on a bedside chair Stark leans back. You notice that he's only wearing a thin wifebeater, showing off a new arc-reactor sitting in his chest. Stark seems to be considering you carefully and seeing how you respond.

Really not a fan of the passive aggressive bitching about how we played this quest. It was obnoxious when our clone did it, and it's even more obnoxious this time around.

It's like you genuinely think that anything short of going full EMIYA, someone who is deeply disturbed, isn't being a hero at all.
>>
>>39677077
"...How'd you get my mask off?" Could have sworn that when Sable knocked us out, it still clung to our face when Frank intervened.

I hardly think its that, look at it. None of that is the way we played at all. Its someone else's story as if we were never truly involved.

If we hadn't become Spider-man.

If we hadn't tried to intervene when danger rose.
>>
>>39677077
So you uuh.. saw spiderman too? Wow. Super heroes! Sure am glad I'm not one. I'll just be heading on home now.
>>
>>39677112
I mean fuck, we saved the life of Tony fucking Stark and got a job working for him before we graduated high school. And that was all Peter Parker. We wouldn't have been ordinairy, we'd have been extraordinary, smart enough to rival Stark, perhaps even Richards, if we had the time to focus.

>>39677112
It actually feels like its more bring out the human element of Peter Parker. Would he like to not have to put himself in danger? Would he like to not have to lie and deceive all of his loved ones by keeping secrets from them?

Of course not. It's commenting on the inherent trouble that is the dichotomy of Peter Parker and Spider-man. For one to prosper, the other has to suffer. For Peter to embrace being Spider-man, he has to let his personal relationships suffer. For him to keep his relationships strong, he has to forsake the costume.

Every time he wears to suit to save someone, he ultimately has to forsake those he loves.

I feel its more about making Peter consciously aware of the costs.

And Ultimately, what normal person actually DOES want to go out, get beat up, and lie to their loved ones?
>>
>>39677391
>Every time he wears to suit to save someone, he ultimately has to forsake those he loves.
No he doesn't. And the only reason you think he does is becuase his writers fundamentally lack imagination. Like it's one thing if he has Uncle Ben's death hanging over his head, but even with that, most of the time the angst is completely artifical and is a self-feeding loop of "Spider-Man suffers because that's what Spider-Man does"
>>
>>39677391
>and lie to their loved ones?
So what if we stop lying to our loved ones? At least tell Uncle Ben, maybe. He's always been pretty good with the sage advice.
>>
>>39677462
I think we're more worried that they're so old they'd literally get heart attacks from the stress?
>>
>>39677432
But he does. Generally speaking, criminals don't go and pull crime according to peter parker's schedule. They pop up inconveniently and he has to make the choice of 'should I go to this social gathering/important family event/loved one who needs help or stop this criminal from rampaging and causing terrible things from happening to innocent people'

Generally speaking peter parker doesn't tell people he's spider-man and if people do know, they can tell other people who are getting pissed at him not showing 'oh, he can't help it, he's off being spider-man'
>>
>writing.

>>39677112
>>39677432
I'm sorry you feel that way.
>>
>>39677528
Eh, Aunt May maybe. But Uncle Ben is fucking tough, and right now it might be better to have him in our corner knowing we're spidey.
Seriously, it's worth taking him aside and telling him.
>>
>>39677532
so, being Parker is suffering.

put him in a puffy skirt and give him a spider shaped soul gem.
>>
>>39677630
I want to agree with you but to say that I'm not slightly scared of doing it would be a lie
>>
>>39677532
Generally yes. There is that element to things, but I'm more talking about the idea that everything in Spider-Man's life must be constantly falling apart.
>>
>>39677750
I'm kinda worried too. But the way I see it, you can't get anywhere without risks and Peter could really really use someone who knows he's spidey and gives great advice whenever he needs it.
>>
>>39677605
It wouldn't be so annoying if a big part of why we spent so much time in our lab was because the only reason people planted so much is because being Spider-Man was both getting shoved in the face with critfails while barely making a difference, as well as encouraging a spree killer. You're blaming us for a problem you caused.
>>
>>39677856
>You're blaming us for a problem you caused.
And he took steps to fix. Which is why we had the giant retcon in the middle of the quest, yet people still hid in the lab and ignored everything.
The players are the ones who made the decision to do it, not Cosgrove. Honestly, with all the nudging he's been doing for awhile, you could say he's been trying to get us to go out and take more risks.

Blaming him is a shitty move too, accept your share of the blame and then do something to try and make it better.
>>
>>39677077
>"You get the flash drive? It's for you, noone else.
>>
>>39678000
You can't cure cancer or take down the Nazi shadow government by punching muggers in the face. And honestly given that it seems like Cosgrove is going with the old "Batman creates Arkham Asylum around him" thing, going out in public unnecessarily seems like it's only making things worse in the long run.
>>
>>39678161
Except we're not curing cancer OR taking down anything. We are literally sitting in our basement and ignoring everything to tinker shit we don't even use.
It just gets thrown in a box in our basement while we tinker on something else.

And if us going out is making shit worse, then it's our job to man up, go "Oh shit, I'm making this worse." and then try to help fix it.
>>
>>39678000
The fact that he constantly drops time skips like they're going out of style, something he, if anything, did worse with, post retcon doesn't really help matters. Especially when we never know when he's gonna do it, it makes it impossible to get any momentum going, or not lose track of friends. Really, it doesn't feasibly allow anything BUT science.
>>
“...Am I fired?”

Tony Stark pauses at your words, considers them, and then starts laughing his ass off. When he ceases, he wipes away tears of mirth. “...am I fired? That's great!”

Growing more serious he leans back. “Well considering that you singlehandedly saved this city from a very unfortunate fate, I'd be offering you a raise if things weren't so dire. From what I could see of that thing from my suit's scans of it, had you not interfered that thing would have blown up and killed a lot of people. The fact that as bruised and beaten as you were, you dragged yourself toward a bomb to try to stop it instead of running the hell away says a lot.

“Not all of it good, but the fact of the matter is you put a lot of innocent people's live above your own. In my book, I call that a hero.”

Glancing over at Stark, he looks honestly impressed. “Now that's said, it would have been better if you had been able to disable the device entirely, because you stopped the worst of it, but things still aren't great. Some people are blaming you.”

Standing up, he gestures at a table as a large holographic map of the city appeared, with a large border of it outlined in red. “That stuff put out a lot of mutagens and other stuff. Didn't affect more than a chunk of the population, but when it happened things didn't take too long to go to hell. Nobody died from exposure... but from the chaos that followed?”

Stark shakes his head as the map begins to light up into different colors everywhere. “The city has been quarantined. Anyone trying to get in and out are being shot. And to make it worse these new... superhumans have started to take territory for themselves.

“And that's not including things like your friend with the metal arm.”

>1/2
>>
>>39678258
Stark picks up a flash drive off of the table and waves it. “This thing helped old-one-eye from letting the wrong people in without being watched or them knowing.”

Sitting back down, he looks exhausted. “As for you and me, well we were near ground zero of the event. We're being quarantined. Officially anyway. You aunt and Uncle are worried for you but don't know about well... your other activities. They've been told that you were unfortunately nearby and that you were stable, if unconscious.”

“Mister Parker, you have been in a coma for two weeks is what he is forgetting to tell you.” The artificial voice chimes in as Stark looks a little embarrassed. “What? No. I was... just building up to it. Easing him in, JARVIS.”

“If you say so, sir.”

You try to process everything Stark just bombarded you with. But it's honestly a bit overwhelming. It doesn't help that you feel like death warmed over.

"It's Monday isn't it? Today feels just like a Monday"

Stark cracks up as you hear the AI, JARVIS chime in. “Actually today is Saturday, Mister Parker.”

When Stark calms back down, you ask him about your friends and family. As far as he knows, your aunt and uncle are fine and completely uneffected. Same with Mary Jane Watson and her aunt. As for Felicia, she's... been around. Probably. Its the best stark can answer you. Captain Stacy seems to be the only person keeping order of the police and ever uneffected person living in the 'secure' zone of the city. Flash Thompson's sister is fine as well, but he seems to be missing. Doctor Spral seems to be fine, if As for Gwen Stacy...

Apparently she and Captain Stacy aren't on talking terms when she is around.

The Goblin's been seen sporadically. He doesn't seem to have established a 'territory' but rather to stir up trouble when things get 'boring.' The most notable thing he did was string up the Lizard-like Connors up in a crucified manner, hanging a necklace of silver coins around his neck. Connors soon after recovered and was seen escaping into the sewers before he could be captured. There were reports by some people who escaped to the secure zone that the Goblin even intervened and saved them, laughing like a demon all the while, but it seems more likely that it was just a consequence of him going after a metahuman.

Eventually you ask about what you should expect for long-term effects. “You should be fine. As far as I can tell, you're a perfectly normal human being. Your vision is as poor as your prescription glasses state. No giant spider-monster mutations. So complications. No more than the effects of your body having been in a coma for about a week. It's like a miracle.”

And as for calls, no. You and Stark are especially 'quarantined' mainly because of what you two know of Hydra. It was a security measure from the person Stark calls old-one-eye.

One after another? Would that averted Karma build up, would it abate? I want to find out because, honestly at this point all that matters is I want to see your face as you fail everything you love and have created,"

Seems to completely be Cosgrove's attitude about this. Like there's just no middle ground to him, if we're not sacrificing everything to be a pure platonic ideal of heroism, then we might as well not be doing anything at all. But the problem is that it's hard to get people to want to play a Paladin if you're the type of guy who likes to gleefully watch them Fall.

I think this is something else entirely. Honestly, it doesn't sound like cosgrove or a cosgrove stand in. Sounds like someone trying to be a dick to peter parker.

Kind of reminds me of the Goblin actually. Didn't he say something about us only coming out for big events, it kinda fits.
>>
>>39679464
I really hope we can dodge that whole self-pitying mindset. I mean, while we should certainly be disappointed in ourselves for not doing a better job disarming the bomb (which is more the result of neglecting our programming/mechanical engineering skills than neglecting our Spider-Manning) but the full self-pity thing is just disengenuous.
>>
>>39679575
It sounds like Carnage. But I mean remember our talk with Mary Jane, how she implied that being Spider-Man made us some kind of martyr?

Even though our only real accomplishment was beating up the Hobgoblin repeatedly?

Like I don't know, it feels like Cosgrove's idea of what it means to be a hero is very Nasu-inspired in a bad way.

If it's based on PPQ Parker, it'd be composed mostly of quips and waifuing in the programming.

Then again, it'd also have an Aunt May and Uncle Ben conscience algorithm, which I guess is way better than canon iterations.

Honestly, backup plans are good but first thing we should do is make sure our spidey powers are really gone. We've had shit suppress them a few times and he did get smacked around pretty hard.

Besides, didn't we keep the spider that bit us? We also have samples of empowered blood, if we really need to we should be able to make a Spider Elixir to give us our powers back if they're really gone.
>>

We're Peter Parker, Boy Genius. I'm sure we can do it.
Besides, I'd like to actually USE one of our inventions at one point.

But still, we need to make sure our powers are really gone. We might just have a mental block from nearly dying or some shit.

And why don't we have the other one?

You lay back as you try to think. If only you'd been faster. You'd been more skilled. If only you'd seen it coming. You could have stopped it entir-

You're interrupted by something smacking you in the forehead. Looking down at your lap you see a knut laying your lap as you look over at Stark. “Cut it out. It doesn't help anything. Believe me.”

Setting down whatever he's currently working on now, he looks over at you. “I know what it's like to fail someone important. I'm only alive because of the guy who helped me with this.” Stark taps his arc-reactor-socket in his chest.

“There's shrapnel deep in my chest. What was left was impossible for him to remove. So he hooked me up to a car battery and an electromagnet. He asked me if the legacy I had- of a double dealing arms manufacturer, the greatest mass murderer in history, was how I wanted to go out. So, he and I built my suit. My first suit.”

Stark's expression grows regretful as his voice lowers. “We were at the final step. We had a plan. We were going to get out and go back. He'd be with his family again. And then... 'We need more time. Hey, I'm going to get you some more time...”

>1/3
>>
>>39680223
maybe we could make some tech that helps control the symbiote or something. looks cool.
>>
>>39680249
His voice seems to imitate the man as he pauses. “He picked up one of the terrorists' guns and ran off, firing it wildly. And he bought me the time I needed... at a cost. When I found him, I asked him why he didn't stick with the plan.. he told me 'this was always the plan, Stark. My family is dead...and I'm going to see them now. I want this... I want this.' I... could only thank him for saving me. His last words were 'don't waste it... don't waste your life, Stark.”

Stark looks like he wants to go for a drink but stops himself. “When... I was dying and couldn't find a solution, I thought about things. Questioned myself. If I had paid more attention and cared more in my life, maybe Yinsen would be alive. Maybe I wouldn't be a man dying because of the reactor in his chest that kept him alive. I withdrew into myself, quietly started putting my affairs in order...”

Stark reaches for a bottle of water and opens it, draining half of it in a large gulp. “Mister Par- Peter. I've bared what is probably one of my most defining and damning moments to you, so I figure its fine to be informal. Anyway, I'm not what you'd call a religious man. My father and mother dead, with me believing myself unloved and unwanted for a long, long time. But...”

Stark looks at you, like you're some sort of puzzle. “...but If there was a God, or Gods. Whatever you believe in. But, if there was one-”

“Sir, you have been told by Director Fury-”

“JARVIS, shut it. Cyclops there can bite me.”

>2/3
>>
>>39680273
Stark, momentarily agitated, takes a deep breath. “Now, where was I? Yeah, well, if there was a god, I'd call this a sign, or whatever. The point is, there minor... irregularities in your system. Fury wanted me to not tell you, let you go about believing you lost your powers. Said it was the absolute least you deserved for all you've gone through.”

Finishing the bottle of water Stark brings up a hologram of a body- presumably yours. “Now, naturally, if you were to go about and live normally, Fury's pretty sure they'd go away on their own. You WOULD be normal. But maybe not. But if you were to draw upon those irregularities... your 'super powers' they'd probably come back. Your body got his with a bunch of mutagen, lightning, and you tenderized more than some steaks I've had. Your body's recovering, so this would be the time to make that choice.”

He sets down the bottle and looks you in the eye. “I decided to get my own feel for you before I said anything. But I can give you no more or less than you deserve. The right to choose for yourself. Nobody knows who Spider-man is, but the people of New York blame him as much as they do the Goblin, but I can tell you that this city needs every good man it can get. The world's gone to hell. You couldn't save it, but you can sure as hell avenge it.”

He gets up and heads off to another area of the room. “I'll leave you to your thoughts.”

A pseudo wall of holograms appears behind Stark, virtually leaving you alone. Your body feels like lead and you feel exhausted.

Pulling yourself out of bed- you really need a shower- you pull all the medical equipment off of you, as uncomfortable as that is, and stagger to your feet. You stagger over to a chair by what looks to be a table and sit down for a moment. From behind your lenses you look over all the notes that seem to be there. A lot of it seems to illegible shorthand of Stark's but there's a few files here and there.

Alright, so you need to pull on your powers. So... how do you do that exactly?

>>
You try to focus on well... 'clinging' you guess. Wall crawling. Putting you hand over a pen you try to lift it without holding it.

You focus on it. And focus. And fail. And keep failing. You keep trying to remember that feel.

As you reach deep inside you lift your hand as the pen lifts with you- and then the world turns blurry and sickening. The pen drops as your vision snaps back to normal as your stomach feels queasy. You feel weak... but like something has shifted inside of you, for good or worse.

As you try not to be sick all over the desk, you see a bottle of water is placed in front of you. Stark sits down next to you and shrugs. “Well, it was a good try. But let's get some food in your stomach and maybe not try the glasses. Miss Stacy informed me that you'd been wearing fake lenses for a while. Probably didn't help.

After you ate something- something simple and not likely to make you ill- you spend the next while working with Stark on trying to figure out how to get 'your super power mojo working.'

You and Stark end up spending the better part of the next few hours working off-and-on with Tony Stark trying to figure out your powers.

It was... not a complete failure.

Well, you don't have your powers back fully. Not yet, but you were working on it. Your vision and wall-climbing powers seem to be coming back for short periods to how they were when you had powers, but they faded after a bit.

Looking at your body's scans he keeps taking, Stark kept making notes and made the observation that your powers were likely to return. But, for the short term it would be like having to be in rehabilitation after breaking an arm and it healing. You had to get the body used to it.

And before you could have any frustration, he also pointed out the fact that you're alive, not crippled, and able to regain your powers in the first place was more than most people expect when they get terribly injured, let alone filled with tons of chemicals the body wasn't meant to have AND struck by lightning, though the insulation of your suit did help with that last one somewhat.

During one of your breaks while you're lightly dozing, you snap awake as the door to the room slams open as a bald, black man with an eyepatch over one of his eyes marches in. “Stark! What the hell are you doing?!”

He looks pretty angry. Pointing at Stark, he apporaches with his voice a growl. “What the hell do you think you're doing. I TOLD you to not do exactly what you just did!”

One of the people who follows him in, a very mild mannered man in a suit seems to be watching you. “Director, Mister Parker IS awake.”

Seeing you awake, he pauses and uncomfortably nods at you. “Mister Parker.”

There's more to your statement than you say. Much like how you don’t really appreciate him making such a choice for you, comments on his organization and how little he really knew it. And several spiteful personal things.

Fury stares at you with his eye, with an unreadable expression. “Fine. Whatever. Go out and be the focus of the hate for every person in New York. Get yourself killed. But, since you decided to do as you like, Stark, you fill him in.”

With his coat whipping behind him, Fury leaves the room. The other man smiles at you. “It was a please meeting you, Mister Parker.”

He closes the door behind him as Stark whistles in appreciation. “So, you've decided to go and keep on with it. I'd hand you your costume back, but that thing was basically in tatters. What was intact was impressive though. For what you had to work with.”

Holograms pop up around the room with general designs. “I've noticed that you've had a slimmer spandex look for a bit, and while that's cool and all it can't offer you the durability of not being killed by heavy weapons. Naturally, no offense, but you aren't getting my armor specs but I have a few ideas here and there.”

>Any changes to design you'd like to make during this period? Overall colors/design/etc?

After the two of you finish hashing out your ideas, Stark looks pretty impressed with your know how. “If you polished your skills more, you'd be a real prodigy.”

As you think about things to look out for in the city you pause as you remember something. “Mister Stark, we really need to get to my house. There's things there that to be kept safe.”

Stark grimaces. “...unless it's really, really important we're not allowed out of the room. So, I need to know what's in there.”

“..rc...tor.”

“A what?”

“A... uhm... arc reactor... that I made...”

Stark stares at you for a minute in silence. “Oh god, you aren't kidding, are you?”

Getting up, he steps forward as the floor opens around him and you see the Iron Man armor assemble onto him. It's still really fucking cool to see. His faceplate is up as he looks over at you. “JARVIS will keep us in contact and I'll grab it.”

The faceplate slides shut. “Stay here.”

By direction you lead him into the basement- the power's off, it looks like...something was here and your lab's fridge, and most of its décor, are gone and ruined. The hidey-hole, however, is safe.

Stark Retrieves it and is back in short order. Soon, you and him are at the table as he looks over the arc reactor. “Honestly... I'm impressed. I just really hate the narrative he's pushing that if we're not being a borderline martyr, we're completely wasting our abilities.

I'd say you nailed the way Peter Parker acts, yes.

Alright, on joints. I'm going to suggest two suits; one for use now, and one to use once we're stronk again. The current one will have suit-assisted movement, with ala hydraulics sorcery, and an increase in armor plating. The suit will have the full Iron Man HuD suite, or at least as close as we can make without Tony shutting us down. It'll need to be padded on the inside to let us web sling without killing us, but Tony can help with that (especially if he can survive a crash from half a mile up)

The next suit will be more traditional, with the padding we had being replaced with more worthwhile, and denser, armor plating, in addition to a multitude of circuitry "film" that remains in contact with our skin, powered by those bioelectric things, and this will let us have a more complex AI without hauling around a CPU on our backs. The HUD will be slightly less intensive than the previous one; we won't need it to identify Friends or Foe, but it'd be nice if we could just set it to hacking and let it hack things while we showed off our spiderbutt, as well as video communications and a map and radios.

In addition to that, they will both have all the bells and whistles, web shooters, electrostatic fist, tracers, explosive gel, smoke grenades, and three vials of corrosive acid per hand.
