A few knocks can be heard from the outside before the door shifts open. The lights flicker once before the room goes from pitch black to a bright white light, illuminating every corner of the room. You groan a little before you force your eyes open and you sit up in your bed. It takes a moment to recognize him, but eventually your tired mind register the individual standing before you to be Joker. A smirk is present upon his features as he looks down at you.

"Had a few hours of sleep, Chief?" He asks with a smug voice, the smirk never faltering. You have had trouble sleeping ever since you and your squad was placed on this ship 2 weeks ago for 'medical leave'. You rise up from the bed and stretch for a moment, pulling at your joints. Your gaze lands on Joker's replacement arms, but you have the decency to not stare. Ones is the only one who has teased him about his missing arms so far and Joker took it with high spirit, or at least that's what you like to believe.

"Apparently we're going to get a call after a breakfast from General Malcov. I guess the Republic can't win this war without its new Fist." Joker continues with a joke, but his smile seems forced before he turns about, showing you his back as he walks towards your door. As the door opens and closes behind him, you notice another individual outside, but you couldn't quite pick out who it was.

With Joker out of the room, you proceed to get dressed. The standard, military attire works well for you when you're not fully clad in a suit of clone Commando armour. With one last stretch and a yawn, you leave your room behind. As the door behind you shuts, you recognize the person next to Joker. Eights; the new addition to Sierra Squad, effectively making your team a five-clone squad, now officially named the 'Republic's Fist'. You have been told the rumors of your squad has already circulated through the GAR, but the Republic has yet to use you for any public propaganda, which is fine in itself. You remain as just another clone squad to the citizens of the Republic.

"Morning, Sir." Eights salute you and you return it.

"Morning."

"Slept well?" He asks as the three of you start to wander down the hallway. A side glance from you is all he needs to know that you haven't slept well tonight either. However, the thought of going back into action again keeps your mind as sharp as ever. Although, breakfast would make things easier for you, but first you need to get a hold of the rest of your team so you can all leave for the bridge once breakfast is out of the way.

"Where's the rest of the squad?" You ask as the three of you turn around a corner, heading down yet another long hallway. There are several doors lining the corridor where clones sleep in separate, or something shared, accommodations. At the end of the hallway it splits into two corridors, one heading right and the other left, with a elevator jutting into the durasteel wall.

"Mute is probably already eating." Eights reports.

"Last I saw Ones, he was still sleeping, or at least he was until I woke him up." Joker replies with a sly smirk. Despite the wounds he suffered, he could still keep up his cheerful demeanor.

As the elevator door slid shut and it started to move up, you find yourself standing in utter silence with your two clone brothers beside you. It's not an awkward silence, just sort of reaffirming. You're certain that despite any physical or mental scars they carry from be it Geonosis or Atraken, they are just as ready as you are to get back into action. However, you haven't spoken much with Mute or Ones these past 2 weeks as the former have undergone psychological tests while the latter has been excusing himself often to get some rest for his injury. It seems the shadow of trouble catches onto us all eventually. It just hasn't reached you yet.

"How are Mute and Ones holding up? Any words from Yna yet?" You decide to ask it straight out to get matters out of the way. There's a pause for a moment between the three of you before Joker opens his mouth.

"Ones is starting to get back on his feet, but he is still using his wound as an excuse to get some rest from time to time. But it feels like he's not the same anymore." Joker trails off for a moment, his tone surprisingly saddened for but a second before he shifts his gear around, with a brighter tone this time, "Mute is as fanatic as ever about his training and he's been busy with the psychological tests and sessions with the ship shrink. Did you know we had one? I didn't."

You notice that he's ignoring your question about Yna. Eights remain silent as the elevator moves upwards through the ship.

The elevator doors open and the three of you march out, but you stop just past it.

"Three-Nine, stop." Your voice is no longer your neutral one. It's a command and any soldier would recognize it as one. As such, Joker stops dead in his tracks, certain what the issue is. He turns around slowly, facing you. His smile is gone and for the first time in two weeks his features looks tired and his eyes are dead serious when he stares back at his commander. This is the man hiding behind the laughter, the jokes, and that smile. This is the true Joker who's been through hell on not only Geonosis, but also Atraken now. You shrudder to think what he would become if any of his brothers in the squad died. One of the many reasons why you intend to keep the promise you made to him on Geonosis.

"Have you heard from Yna?" You repeat your question, maintaining eye contact with your soldier and your voice do not falter from its purpose. Joker stares you dead in the eye while Eights stands off to the side, looking away as if he knows something you do not.

"Nothing." Joker finally replies.

"Excuse me?"

"There has been no word. Not even a message via a droid or something. For all I know she could be--" His voice is raised, but he cuts himself off before he can continue. The three of you know perfectly well what he was about to say. If she was dead, you'd know at this point, but that seemed unlikely given the fact that last you heard of her, she was heading for Coruscant to meet the council after a summoning. After that there has only been silence from her. You figured Joker would have heard something, but there was no Intel on her whereabouts. Could she have been thrown out of the order?

Before you can respond, Joker storms off with a confused and saddened expression painted across his face.

This time, you decide to not pursue him. He have to want to talk about it himself instead of being forced into something he's not ready for yet. Eights remain by your side, albeit just as silent as before. In the end, it feels like nothing has changed when everything really has turned into something different. Ones is feeling down and so is Joker, Yna is MIA for now, and Mute is unreachable for all you know.

Eventually you find yourself in the mess hall with Eights. Scanning the room, you can't seem to find Mute here nor Ones. Odd.

You sit down with your meal of military proportions with Eights across the table. The seats next to you are cold and empty. The entire team hasn't been eating together lately and while it hasn't bothered you much, with how Joker described things, you've started to concern yourself more and more. Eights' plate is empty and when you give him a questioning look, he finally snaps back from his deep thoughts.

"Oh, ah, I've already had my meal, Sir." He replies, his attention back on you again. Since there's no point turning the ship inside out to find Mute or Ones or chase down Joker right now, you decide to eat your meal slowly while the table lay in silence. Soon enough, Eights return to his deep thoughts as you're about to finish your meal. No sight of anyone else from your team as of yet. Mute is possibly either in the training area or at the observation deck and you're certain you'll find Ones in his own quarters. As for Joker, well, he could be anywhere on the ship at this point.

Your eyes shift to Eights where he's sitting, staring past you at the wall a few meters behind you. He looks awfully focused.

Eventually you decide that you've waited for your other squad members for far too long as most of the mess hall has emptied out after breakfast. Rising up, you leave the hall behind with Eights in tow, heading for the elevator that will take you to the bridge. If they're not waiting for you there, you'll have to hunt them down after your briefing with general Malcov. As the piece of shallow durasteel metal moves up through the various levels on this ship, you glance over at Eights who have returned to his state of deep thought. It's a rare sight to see a clone think as much as he does since you've all been trained to think and act fast in any situation. It's not an usual sight.

"What's on your mind, Eights?" You speak up, catching his undying attention. He looks at you in confusion at first, but eventually realize what you just asked him.

"I've just been thinking, sir." He starts off, his gaze shifting over to the metal wall of the elevator before he continues, "Sierra squad seems awfully splintered; Joker is emotionally conflicted, Ones is probably suffering from chronic depression, and Mute has an unhealthy obsession with his training which might imply he's trying to make up for a mistake he made on Atraken. I guess I'm just surprised by what I've seen of all of you these past two weeks. You all seemed so focused back on... you know."

The room is filled with silence again after he's done explaining himself. You're not sure how to respond to all of this, or if you even want to.

>Reassure him that once Sierra Squad gets out in the field again, everything will be alright.
>Tell him that you plan on having a talk with them to sort things out somehow.
>Tell him to mind his own business and everything will go smoothly.

A splintered squad is a dead squad, this situation needs to be resolved before mission start or the results can be catastrophic, and seeing as our job is to resolve situations that could easily become catastrophic, we are uniquely suited for this. That or we've drunk way too much of the fluoridated water.

"I will speak with them, don't worry. They've endured hell and they'll survive this too. I won't allow my squad to fall apart like this, not after everything we've been through." You reassure Eights. He gives you a small smile, but you can see he has his doubts. You and the others will prove his doubts wrong. You're sure of it.

"Once we're deployed again, Sierra Squad will have its edged focus back, trust me."

Eights merely nods at this before the doors slide open, revealing the bridge before you. There's an oval platform before the bridge leading to the forward site where the Captain of the ship is standing. Below the sides of the bridge there are several clones sitting behind panels and terminals. On the oval platform you notice a round device placed in the middle of the floor and around it there stands Mute, Ones, and even Joker. Ones is just finishing speaking with Joker with a hand on his shoulder while Mute immediately notice your presence and silently salute you. You salute him back and give him the sign to stand at ease. Upon reaching the device, Mute goes on to click on several buttons on a nearby terminal, activating it. A hologram appears above the decive. It's Jedi General Malcov, Yna Ti's Master.

"Are you finished licking your wounds, Sierra Squad?" He asks with an unemotional tone, sizing you all up through the holo-call.

Exactly, were supposed to be soldiers, not humans. Humans don't blindly accept firing orders or rush to there clear death on superiors orders in order to buy time to win a battle, this isn't wh40k, humans actually have morale issues here normally.
>>

"Sir, yes, sir." You respond dutifully, yet very neutral given the circumstances and your superiors attitude, but who are you to question how he treats you? He's a general and a Jedi at that. No point aggravating him, if possible. The rest of your squad salute Zen Malcov with you until he gives you leave to stand at ease.

"I read the reports on Atraken and the acid attacks on Commands outpost. Are you sure you made the right choice, Commander?" He questions you, his eyes never wandering from you at this point.

"I did what I could, Sir. If I got another chance, I wouldn't have done it any differently, sir." You reply with pride. Joker might have lost both his arms, Ones got shot and Mute became emotionally unstable, but you saved Yna, You held the town from the CIS forces until reinforcement arrived, and you ensured that the Republic could fight on upon Atraken to free its people from the Separatists grip. You had few things to regret. At least your entire squad made it out alive.

"Really?" Zen muse as he pause. Even if you're light years away from each other over a holo-call, it still feels like his eyes are tearing into your very being. Might be the force at work, might just be your imagination, but you won't be moved or intimidated by it. "Very well."

"Do you have any news about Yna, sir?" You finally get to ask the burning question on everyone's minds. Zen looks between each and every one of you before he replies,

"Yna is taking her knighthood trials. There is nothing I nor you can do now. She will either fail or succeed. As for now, you have other, more pressing concerns, Commander."

You hear Joker heave out a relieved sigh and Ones chuckle quietly with a smile on his lips. This was great news for all of you. You nod at the General, signaling that Sierra Squad is ready for their next mission. This would be your saving grace, the mission to lift up your spirits and set the path to carve the name of your squad and the Republic's Fist into the annals of legends.

>>39634954
that's why I was thinking of only a small band or two of black, and considering what Chief and the squad and Yna have been through, they've all earned some orange

the black can be like a small band or mark, to remember atraken
>>
>>39634954
Since Atraken we are all about that vengeance.

Do we know about colours representing "torture the enemy with gungun porn"?
>>
>>39635009
Sepia, maybe? I dunno, some cringeworthy color.

>>39635003
Except Chief has never pursed what is "Just", so any black is silly. And why black for Atraken? That sounds like straight orange to me, Chief isn't trying to make them answer for what they did, he wants to kill them all.

Further, Chief never seems to take any serious injury, and hardly seems to take even MILD injuries, orange goes straight up for Mute, and to a lesser extant everyone else.
>>
>>39635097
>Further, Chief never seems to take any serious injury, and hardly seems to take even MILD injuries, orange goes straight up for Mute, and to a lesser extant everyone else.
Doesn't matter what injuries we've taken, you can't argue that we fought damn hard to live and succeed, sure the others 'earned' it more with their wounds, but that doesn't mean we don't have a lust for life either, it's not a mutually exclusive thing.

u wot m8? Justice for the thousands of civilians and clones they killed with bioweapons, Justice for the atrocities they committed against the planet and us and our friends. If you can't see that then I don't know what you've been reading but it hasn't been this quest.
>>
>>39635130
From what it seems Chief doesn't fight that hard at all. His worst was on Atraken where he got thrown around like a rag doll from explosions, and on Geonosis against the jedi-hunters.

Sure they all should have orange, but the point of the colors isn't that "Oh, you display traits, here you go" it's more "Damn dude, you need this shit so people know what you stand for".

It's like a medal. Sure, all the soldiers fought hard, but holy fuck, Cpl. Jensen charged over an open field with nothing but a bundle of grenades to take out that trench.

Ya dig?
>>
>>39635157
Justice isn't about having a murderboner for something.

Chief doesn't want to make the ones in charge of the order to use the weapons go to court and admit their wrong doing and then be executed, he wants to strangle them to death with his bare hands.

That's vengeance, not justice, man.
>>
>>39635191
>From what it seems Chief doesn't fight that hard at all.
Okay you've got to be trolling now or you've never been in a fight in your life and have been given everything and never been challenged.

You can't even begin to argue that Chief didn't fight hard.
>>
>>39635217
Don't make me steal the bears wife for you anon.
>>
>>39635228
You misinterpret. Most fights he gets in he generally easily outclasses everything, and his tactical abilities take away a lot of the hardest fighting he would have to do and makes it more manageable.

He really only has been genuinely really REALLY challenged on a couple occasions, otherwise it's not him struggling so much as making sure everyone comes out okay.
>>
>>39635250
>the joke

>my head
>>
>>39635290
And your still entirely wrong, none of that means he doesn't fight hard, he gives it his all, it helps that he uses his brains to leverage the fight in his favor, that doesn't mean he is somehow not fighting hard.

You really should go and reread the archives of the quest because your way off base.
>>

>>
>>39636575
It occurs to me, most everyone will end up knowing Sierra Squad as the "Republic's Fist" save a few very influential people or clones (which I'm sure nearly all of them will die) so if that does happen, the new guy referring to them as "Sierra Squad" will get his foot in the door, instead of into a grave.
>>

>save a few very influential people or clones (which I'm sure nearly all of them will die)

>Yna

You know a great shitstorm is waiting for us in the horizon...
>>
>>39636700
You keep bringing that up despite all the evidence that lots of clones, especially Commando's and ARC troopers sided with their Jedi comrades and survived the order. That and I seriously doubt Whiskey would be stupid enough to destroy the quest over something like that.
>>
>>39636720
Well to be honest, a lot of troopers familiar with Jedi turned on them without hesitation.

I think it'll come down to just how much time we spend with Jedi, or maybe even some sort of will save.

I mean, we've got hardware in our brains that tells us to kill them once they give the order.
>>
>>39636720
>>39636756
It begs a certain question though.

Let's say the entire Sierra Squad + Yna survives until Order 66 (Please Whiskey) and past it, what will they be in the next quest? Whiskey mentioned that he wanted to do a quest at around 12-19 BBY or so in his ask.fm, so will we meet members from Sierra Squad and what would they be doing then?
>>
>>39636700
So, is it fair to say that Chief is the most skilled Clone we've seen in the Quest so far?
>>
>>39636756
>I mean, we've got hardware in our brains that tells us to kill them once they give the order.
No it doesn't, it tells us that there is an order we are compelled to follow, an order we cannot verify the authenticity of, an order that makes no sense, an order that seems like a separatist plant and sabotage, like they have displayed several times in the war they are capable of doing.

Meanwhile we are Commando's, trained to not rely or fall back on any of that rhetoric about chains of command and communication, we're taught and bred to be able to fall back on our instincts and work as a small tight knit team cut off, with no support or contact other than what we can see, hear and touch, personally, we're taught to fight without orders and chains of command, the opposite of the regular clone trooper.

>>39636807
It would be really cool and I hope we meet them in some fashion, with them making a cameo or being something of a mentor but largely uninvolved, don't want to go digging up old territory.
>>
>>39636807
Well, if Yna sticks with them, they'd probably be wanderers to avoid a lot of shit.

If Yna doesn't they could wind up as mercenaries or bodyguards, even bounty hunters

Hell, vigilantes even.

It'd be cool if Yna was traveling around teaching the ways of the Jedi with a group of the most badass clones ever.

OH FUCK, what if Eights decides Order 66 is a great idea and tries to ice Yna!?
>>
>>39636846
>OH FUCK, what if Eights decides Order 66 is a great idea and tries to ice Yna!?

>>

I don't exactly see Sierra sticking together after Order 66 comes down, assuming none of them die over the course of the story. It's simply too conspicuous, and the best operators in the Galaxy would understand that.

>>39636915
Not really, in the Galaxy at large its very easy to go unnoticed as a group if you don't stick your head up. There are plenty of cases where units and groups broke off from the Republic after the order and made their own little place in the galaxy without anyone knowing.
>>
>>39636833
>No it doesn't, it tells us that there is an order we are compelled to follow,

This is the problem, at the end of the day it does say we should follow this order, sure we can say no, but you act like EVERY single Commando and ARC trooper decided to not follow that order, which is false. When someone says "a lot of dudes said no" you have to understand this is on a galactic scale, of course a LOT will be able to say no, but in terms of percentage a vast minority actually said no.

Then there is the fact that if we do say no to this order, the regular troopers around us wont and we would have to deal with them if we wanted to actually save the jedi around us. I don't like those odds and I'm sure a competent soldier like Chief wouldn't either.

In the end, it's not our choice how Whiskey decides to deal with it and I trust in his judgement.
>>
>>39636846
Eights has shown that his loyalty isn't shatterproof. The pastebin itself states this, and aside from maybe Joker, I think he's the least likely to follow through.
>>
>>39636846
>>39636966
Mute on the other hand...
>>
>>39636960
Except we're going to be used for propaganda purposes, and it's not going to bode well when people as high-profile as Sierra squads disappears. There's undoubtedly going to be a manhunt.
>>
>>39637048
oh for sure there would be efforts to find the squad, but how easy will that be when you can just take a hyperspace capable ship, remove its trackers, and just keep on going to the edge of the galaxy, then skirt around the rim until you find a comfortable place to lay low
>>
I just want to see the reveal that Chief gets if he makes it through this quest and into the next.

And if Yna sticks with us, we will most likely be on the Emperor's shitlist for some reason or another. Vader, assassins, Hand, and bounty hunters from all sides of the Galaxy - I agree, it's best to split, and go in pairs.

Here's a question for you all though: What kind of quest would you like Whiskey to do after the next quest? Another Star Wars? Original Sci-fi? Fantasy or some urban shit?

I for one would like to see him write some fantasy when all is said and done.
>>
>>39637176
If the next quest is a star wars one, and Yna and Chief survive, and it's allowed, the next MC could go maximum over-sue by being a force sensitive being taught in the ways of the jedi by Yna (who would totally turn away from the jedi ways, but not turn to the darkside, either, gray style, you know it) and tactics and combat by Chief.

It's so bad I want it.
>>
>>39637341
I want it too anon, this must happen, Whiskey must bring this about.

So far Chief has avoided any significant disfigurement, he'd fit into a crowd rather easily if unarmored. Aside from looking like Fett he has no other striking traits.

If we somehow make it to the end without suffering any noticeable injuries and without getting distinctive tattoos Chief could probably walk around anywhere without anyone realizing it's him.

I just wonder what perks/coolshit he will pick up before then.
