Unlucky Number Edition

Your name is Kazuya Narukami, and you are the best friend of a standard harem MC. A month ago, your party of thirteen defeated the Dark Lord Azazel and restored peace to the world.
Your ordinary lives have resumed, so your objective is now twofold. That is, resolving your bro's harem and supporting him to the very end!

Last time we…
>Did some awful math work in class.
>Got assistance from Laura.
>Learned about the existence of weapon-girls and their Abyssal counterparts.
>Went to check on Syoko’s first day at school.
>Found that the vending machines at A-1 Academy don’t stock lemon-lime (how disgusting)
>Ate lunch with Syoko on the rooftop.

The day is still Monday, on the third week of the school semester. In roughly five hours or so, it would be Tuesday. Class has long since passed and the clock hands are now nearing seven at night. The sky outside is beginning to turn dark, and the city lights of Megiddo City have lit up like swarms of fireflies in the festival skies. You are currently lying on your toned and muscular back, head pressed against a snow-white pillow and your right ear pressed against your smartphone.

“Yeah, homework is important. No, you shouldn’t try and do it all at once. The teachers don’t tell you to do that for a reason.” You engage in mild chatter with Syoko, who had called you the moment you put down your chopsticks at dinner. Poor girl had been panicking about the three weeks’ worth of homework dumped onto her. You could imagine her normally pale face flushing red with worry. “Um, I don’t think I can help you with maths, though. I’m terrible at that shit. I’m more of a history and English guy, you get what I mean?”
>>

Starting out with the adorableness, good move.

You pause and listen for Syoko’s soft, shy and slightly quivering voice. “Yah, yah, no. Syoko, you’ll be fine. I mean, c’mon girl. It’s not like you’re dumb or anything. ” You run a hand through your hair. “Just read the source material and pay attention to the examples.”

Syoko mumbles her words again, and you listen. “You know, I think you’re being way too stressed about this. How much work have you done? Eh? What was that? You’ve been working non-stop ever since you got back home? Damn Syoko, that’s gotta be at least two hours. You need a break.”

She speaks, stammering and stumbling over her words. You can’t help but laugh. The thirteenth member of the party is freaking the fuck out over something as trivial as homework. No matter how you looked at it, it was just so amusing! In all honesty, Syoko had never experienced a normal school life before, so it was natural she would flip out.

Then again, as her friend, it was your job to teach her that high school homework wasn’t worth getting too worked up over. It was important, no doubt about it. Your parents had hammered the lesson into your forehead, even after becoming a world-saving hero. But neglecting to do it wouldn’t suddenly cause a world-shattering apocalypse.

“You sound beat, Syoko. Go and watch a movie with Sachiko in that home cinema of hers.” You reply. “I think you deserve it.”

“Okay, goodnight. See you tomorrow, Syoko.”

You click and hang up with a grin. You stretch your arms skywards, fists to the ceiling light, and climb off your bed.

“Yosh! Time to get to work.”

With an air of confidence, you walk over to your desk and survey the piles of papers and books sitting on top of it. Sheets of maths homework, your history textbooks and a large plastic folder lie side-by-side, gleaming innocently in the pale fluorescent light shining down from the ceilings. You raise a finger to a chain and make a low humming noise. It is one of great concentration and decision. Then you shrug your shoulders and sweep the whole lot to one side.

You reach for the power button on your desktop computer and boot the entire big, black monstrosity up. There were things you needed to do; things that were more important than any mounds of homework A-1 Academy should throw at you.

Yes, it was time to focus your attention on resolving your bro’s harem.

Once there had been five obstacles. Now, there remained four. Kurumi Tokisaki, the mistress of time. Laura Bodewig, the champion of Germany. Sachiko Koshimizu, the fallen angel heiress. Ayase Aragaki, the relentless assassin. All heroes, all killers and all of them your closest friends. A big question hung over your head, like a gloomy and thick cloud of rain. Which girl to start with?

You knew how devious Kurumi could get, and her army of temporal clones would prove invaluable. During the war, Laura often took initiative, and it seemed to outsiders that nothing could faze her. Sachiko boasted the entire Koshimizu family resources, and her silver tongue could talk down the most hardened of demons into surrender. And as for Ayase…her stealth skills and her love of stabbing spoke for themselves.

Decisions, decisions. You sigh.

You needed to talk this over with someone, before you discussed this with your bro. Twisting your mouth slightly, you open up your trusty chat client.

I do think Sachiko would be best as second to introduce. If we ask her after, her ego will be incredibly hurt. She actually care about that kind of stuff a lot, while Kurumi and Laura don't put that much emphasis on how great they are at the smallest occasion

>>39472983

>>
>>39472915
I think we're operating under the assumption that no matter what, Ayase will go batshit at the revelation, and so we're getting everyone else on our side before dealing with her so we have the advantage of sheer force and multiple angles of persuasion.
>>
>>39473046
Watch Ayase just be like "Ok, I'm happy as long as I get him." and be the most chill about it. And all this paranoia was for nothing.
>>
Also, Sachiko needs to be second. At this rate, she's been too chill to deserve anything else.
(Hell, from what it looks now, the only reason she wasn't first was because of ease of access at the time + childhood friend privileges more than anything else)
>>

Fourth in terms of difficulty. First (or at least a close second) in terms of likeability.
>>
>>39473198
Yeah, I'm willing to make the early effort at Hard Mode.
>>
>>39473198
Have you considered that may be because we've interacted with her slightly more than the other girls?
>>
Still, despite the fact I think Sachiko need to be next, let's not forget she's the one who has the most power to ruin people's lives if displeased.

I mean, I don't think she would do this, but if she wanted she could get our dad arrested and Hatoko's house burned with one phone call.
>>
>>39473269
Calculated risk, I think. We want to turn that power to our own ends.

(Sidenote: I get what >>39473257 is saying. Personally, I am somewhat interested in how Laura will react.)
>>
>>39473269
which is why we be fucking smart about this one
>>
>>39473257

Possible, even probable, but she was still the one who was the less ready to torture us for knowledge, and she didn't push the issue to know why the park was destroyed. To say nothing of her friendship with our favorite ex-NEET former idol
>>
You need an adult. A responsible, mature adult to give you lots of relationship advice. Myde has never gotten with any woman, Law is a creepy bastard, STREUM’s wife divorced him and Courier Six...you have absolutely no idea. The obvious candidate is Souji, even if the guy tended to skew the gender barrier a bit, and then wrenched it from its hinges and sliced it in half.

You click on his icon in the chat client. His avatar is of his combat persona: Tail Red. One advantage Souji had over the rest of you was that his female form was far more famous than his standard male form. It meant he could walk outside safely without disguising, as long as he had a single Y-chromosome at the time.

Oh, it looks like he’s offline at the moment. You check the time again. You suppose right now he’s eating dinner with his wife or attending a dull meeting with a room of suits. Maybe both are occurring at the same time. You wouldn’t put it past the intricacies of the business world.

You reach for your phone and slide open the lock screen. The instant you do, a news site flashes up. The following titles are displayed on it.

>Abyssal attacks unlikely to increase, says famous Admiral.
>Local Idol Company vandalized by hooligans
>Exclusive interview with King Arthur
>Ginger Beer company still under heavy scrutiny
>Man caught with a hundred stolen Kurumi Tokisaki love pillows at apartment home

Those aren’t important right now. You shove it aside and dial Souji’s number. After a few rings, the connection thankfully goes through.

“Hello?” You hear Souji’s voice. For once, he’s actually a guy. Amazing.

“Souji, hey. How’s it going?”

“Hi Kazuya. Not bad…not bad…” Souji sounds tired for some reason. He yawns a little, and then continues. “Something up?”

“Yeah. I, uh, need your advice about something.” You say.

“Advice?” Souji now seems a little more alert now. “I think I know what you’re going to say…”

Miles away from the Shindou estate, you nod your head. “I’m thinking about starting back up my quest to resolve bro’s harem. Since you gave us good advice last time, I wanted to hear your opinion about it.”

“My opinion?” Souji questions. “I get it. Well, what do you have for me?”

“Meaning?” You press.

“Are you going to ask me questions, Kazuya? I can’t impart any of my knowledge if you don't.”

The point being that the other girls would probably have likable aspects to them as well - otherwise we wouldn't have befriended them - but we haven't been able to see them yet because we haven't interacted with them much. The only exception is Laura, but schoolwork doesn't leave as much of an impact.

But - for instance - if Syoko somehow managed to get kidnapped (unlikely as that would be), I'm pretty sure all five of them would drop everything to save her in an instant.

You lean back into your chair. “Hey Souji, based on Kurumi and the others, who could provide me and bro with the most support?”

“Oh? Being pragmatic, are we?” Souji smirks. “Heh, that’s the right attitude to have, Kazuya. When it comes to women, there’s no such thing as too prepared.”

“Yeah, I know…” Never underestimate the wrath of five jealous girls, especially when said girls could individually destroy an entire battalion by themselves. Yet another lesson the war against demons had taught you, along with mass suffering, the measure of a metahuman and why Law used the bottom ends of a toothpaste bottle than the top. At least the one with the most magic potential had been pacified and taken care of.

“Honestly though, I would say any of them are pretty much equal right now.” Souji says. You can hear him sit down on something soft. “Kurumi has her cloning technique, Laura has her Infinite Stratos and military experience, Sachiko has her wealth and influence and lastly Ayase has her stealth skills. Which is one better, though? I think that’s a decision you’ll have to make by yourself.”

You thin your lips. “What do you think, Souji?” You ask. “What’s your take on this whole mess?”

“My take? If you’re really asking, I would start with Kurumi. Now that Hatoko has been convinced, I think our time mistress would now be the easiest to talk to. Plus, she can use her clones to spread across large distances and spy on others.” You hear Souji sigh. For some reason, his opinion doesn’t seem right to you. It’s nothing big, just a little niggling feeling at the back of your head. “In the end man, it’s just my opinion. Take it or leave it as you wish.”

You scratch your head. “Souji, are you saying that Laura, Sachiko and Ayase would be harder to convince?”

“Laura, not so much. She’s resilient and hard-headed, but not impenetrable.” Souji says, now serious. “Sahciko though, I was thinking her ego is going to be a big problem. Then again, her family and mine are rivals, so I’m probably being a little bit biased here, yeah? Having said that, she does have a lot of personnel and resources you could use…”

“I think about it.” You say. “Thanks for the help, Souji.”

“Oh, no problem. I did say you could come to me at any time. But hey, one more thing, Kazuya.” Souji’s voice stops you.

“Yeah, what is it?” You finger, is hovering just above the ‘hang up’ icon

You think. The last you chatted to Hatoko about the harem sharing concept was when she had been caught going on a little date with your bro. She had moaned about how your bro would one day be with the other harem members. An air of sad acceptance had surrounded her. You remember comforting her, hugging her in a friendly embrace.

“A little.” You eventually say. “I was thinking about contacting her after I was finished with you.”

“Yes, that’s a good idea.” Souji replies. “Let her know about your plans. She has the right to know now.”

You nod. “Mm-hmm.”

“Still…you think she has been fully convinced?” Souji asks.

“What do you mean?”

“What you’re trying to pull here—polygamy—isn’t what Hatoko was raised on. In our society a man can only marry one woman, and vice versa. Anyone else has to stay out of their union, unless the two of them divorce or something. This is what Hatoko had believed for her most of her life, and you’ve only just sprung the notion of sharing Tatsuya onto her.” Souji continues. “What’s I’m trying to say is that some part of Hatoko might still be opposed to it all. She might get jealous if Kurumi, Sachiko or the others spend time with Tatsuya.”

“Isn’t that always the case for married harems?” You ask.

“Yeah, but jealousy is never a good thing. It’s unavoidable, you’re right, but at least make sure that Hatoko understands that she will get chances to be with the man she loves.” Souji says. His voice then lowers. “I wish I could’ve done something like that…”

“Souji…”

“Well, Hatoko is a good girl. She’ll understand.” Souji says. You then hear the far off sound of a door being opened, metal hinges creaking against hard friction. “Alright, my wife is calling me, so I have to leave. Goodnight, Kazuya.”

“Yeah, Goodnight. Thanks for the help. ” You hang up and take a deep breath. You see that your computer has switched into screensaver mode, multicolored pipes stretching and growing on the display. You give your mouse a jiggle, and the blackness fades away to be replaced by assaulting white light.

So that was that. Souji had given you decent advice, as expected of the only man in the party to have ever been in a long-lasting relationship. So he thought that Kurumi should be first? Well, you couldn’t deny that the ability to create hundreds of copies of herself was useful. Still, you weren’t entirely sure how to convince her, what angle to approach. Never mind Laura, Sachiko and Ayase.

What will you do now?

You punch in Hatoko’s number and wait for the line to connect. In a sense, it does. However, it only serves to aggravate you.

“The person you are calling has switch off their mobile, or the number is no longer in service.” The tinny pre-recorded message states, unaware of the irritation burgeoning inside your skull. “Please hang up and try again.”

Dammit, not again! You hated when this sort of shit happened. But why would Hatoko switch off her phone? She never did that. Not ever since she missed

Moments later, you receive a text message from your bro. You open it instantly.

>Hatoko and I are going out on a little ‘date’ now. We’ve turned off our mobiles so we can’t be tracked. I thought I should just let you know :).

You sigh, and your fingers begin tapping away at the screen. Soon, a message is constructed and ready to be sent. Its contents are along the lines of ‘Thank for telling me, but next time do it sooner.’ You forward it and watch as the little animated icon does its work. You guess you can’t really blame Hatoko for trying to make the most of a good situation. The man she loved had finally acknowledged her feelings, and now there was a decent period of time where the two of them could be alone together. You feel kind of guilty for having to break up that bliss of Hatoko’s.

You spend the rest of the night doing mundane stuff. You work on history homework, and take a break to play some video games on your computer. Your mother calls you to take out the garbage, and you comply. You chat with Law and Myde. The former had just finished treating his patients for the day and the latter had received a new contract to write some songs for a rookie idol unit. You think about the four remaining harem members and reminisce about all the fun the party had. Kurumi racing you to see who can pick the most apples in an orchard. Laura being taught Japanese etiquette by Souji, who had enough of her shit and was determined to correct her. Sachiko cheating a seedy merchant of his wares, and laughing as the tears rolled down his stupid fat face. Ayase getting drunk from Law’s liquour and singing karaoke at the top of her lungs, then massacring the horde of demons that arrived (still inebriated).

That had been kinda funny. Mainly because it reached the point where Law had to cut Ayase up in his ‘room’ and hold her in place until she calmed down.

It is eleven o’clock, and you go to bed. You sleep, and dream about nothing in particular. Okay, that is a lie. Your dream is silver for some reason, and the entire party is there. You’re not sure why, because you forget most of your dream the moment you wake up.

You eat breakfast. Muffins, hashbrowns and bacon. You mop up the oil with a tissue and head off for class.

It’s another fine day. You feel elated. Not because the sky is clear, or the birds are singing, but you’ve finally decided. It’s taken you all night, but you think you have a good grasp on which girl to convince next. She is…

[FINAL CALL]

It's consistent, I think.
The more you use a voice, the better you get at keeping it the same.
>>
>>39475753
She's in contender for best girl because she's relatable in that she cares for Syoko, when the other girls haven't had much fleshing out.
Even though I like her now a lot more than I did at the start, you gotta give the others a chance.
Except for Ayase.

That’s right. Kurumi Tokisaki was the girl you decided to choose. It wasn’t an easy choice, mind you. You had almost gone for Sachiko, but decided against the last minute. While her wealth and connections could get you a lot of useful equipment and openings, Kurumi was better at subtlety and tracking. She could spread her clones as a massive information network. Whenever one of the clones was killed, it would be reabsorbed into the main body, and all of the information it gathered could go straight to Kurumi. In a situation where you had to keep track of multiple people at a time, such an ability would prove invaluable.

Besides, you had always gotten the impression that Kurumi would be easier to convince. That wasn’t the same as easy—Kurumi could be particularly stubborn about some things. Then again, that went for all the girls in the party, including Syoko.

You flip open your phone and dial. “Hello?” You answer cautiously.

“Oh, good morning Kazuya!” To your relief, it isn’t Ayase who answers the phone. Either bro had gotten more attentive, or Ayase had finally realized that stealing her cousin’s personal belongings was not a good thing to do. Hopefully, it would be the latter. “What’s up?”

“Tatsuya, I’ve decided to move forward with the plan.” You answer. “It’s time to resume resolving your harem.”

Your bro doesn’t answer for a moment. You can hear his footsteps pounding against wooden floorboards. He runs up stairs, and the sound of a door slam pounds into your eardrums. When he does speak again, his voice is neutral and focused. He’s most likely not smiling at the moment “I see. Hatoko was talking to me about this last night.”

“She did, huh?” You state. “What did she say?”

“She wished me good luck. She didn’t want the others to suffer the same way she did, even if it meant giving up some of her happiness.” You bro chuckles sadly. “Damn, Hatoko really is a good girl.”

“Yeah, I know.”

“So, who should we try to convince this time?” Your bro says.

“I think it’s Kurumi’s turn, now.” You reply. “If we can get her on our side, we can use her temporal clones to spy on the others.”

“Kurumi, huh…” Your bro mumbles.

You frown in concern. “Something wrong?”

Your bro doesn’t say anything. You wonder if Ayase has suddenly snatched away his phone, but can’t be true. You can hear the sound of his breathing. When he does resume his speech, he sounds morose and melancholy. “Hey Kazuya, is this really the right thing to do?”

“What do you mean?” You ask.

“We’re going behind Kurumi, Laura, Sachiko and Ayase’s backs and planning stuff without their knowledge.” Your bro says. “I…I feel like we’re sort of betraying their trust…”

>“It’s for their own good.”

“Some things can’t be helped, bro.” You reply, rubbing the back of your neck. “If we could sit down and talk it over with the four of them, we would. But these girls would rip the world apart to win you. Talking them individually is the only way to ensure that they, you and others don’t get hurt.”

“I know, Kazuya. I can’t help but feel guilty over it.” Your bro laments.

“Put it this way. We’re leading them down the path to the most happiness. Once they reach there, they won’t care about how they arrived.” Then an idea strikes you, and a lecherous grin crosses your hardened features. You giggle a little, and speak. “Besides bro, if you’re that worried about what they might think, why not…’treat’ them to some fun after we’re convinced them?”

“H-hey!” Your bro stuttered. Guy’s probably blushing like mad right now. Considering you had brought up Kurumi Tokisaki, the most pro-sex out of the party, a few seconds ago... “What’s that supposed to mean?”

“Nothing, really.” You grin. “Though I’m still surprised you haven’t done stuff like that with Hatoko yet…”

“We’ve only kissed!” Your bro yelped. “Hatoko isn’t like that. She’s a pure girl!”

“I’m kidding, Tats. Relax.” You reply, still chuckling. “On the other hand, gotta wonder how a wedding night with five brides would go down, hehehe…”

“Okay Kazuya, that’s enough love life talk for now.” Your bro interrupts. “Ayase is calling me. See you soon.”

You laugh again and hang up. It was strange how your best friend would get all flustered about sexual matters, considering that he had a stash of porn stored away in a secret place of his. You once caught the five girls watching his erotica DVDs and writing down notes about his preferences. Boy, that had been an embarrassing time for everyone.

You continue walking down the path to school. Your friends join you. You grin at the sight of Syoko and begin chatting with her. Laura and Sachiko are bantering back and forth, as usual. Kurumi is clinging to your bro’s arm, much to Hatoko’s distaste. Halfway, Ayase splits from the group to head to her own school. You catch her whispering something to your bro before she leaves. Oh well, it’s probably best not to get involved in her matters.

A-1 Academy soon appears in the distance. Everyone gets settled in class, and homeroom passes. Then it’s time for your next class. Which is it?

Ayase is going to be a tough one no matter how well we prepare. HavingKurumi keep tabs on her will help.

She'd try. Thank god we're a tanky berserker. As for Syoko, obviously she'd take the hit meant for us. Which would likely make us go straight rampage mode.
>>
>>39476665
That's a good thing, though. Her going crazy will lead to a conversation in which we either start to resolve whatever issues make her so clingy, letting us make her into something not so awful; or establish that she's never going to get better on her own and needs professional help, letting us get rid of her by shipping her off to an asylum. Either way, it'll solve the problem.
>>
>>39476719
we risk that anyway. and we need all the other girls to take her down non-lethally when, not if, she goes crazy
>>
>>39476719

It’s time for Combat Training. This is not a class that is offered to everyone. It didn’t even exist last year, back in peaceful days. In fact, it must be chosen by a student, and said student must meet a series of minimum physical and magical requirements. Its purpose was to teach self-defense techniques to be used in the outside world. It sprung up after the war with Azazel, when the politicians had gotten really shifty about another demon invasion occurring on Earth. You didn’t quite understand what the big fuss was about.

If the demons invaded again, your bro would lead the party to smash them back into the depths of the underworld. That is what he had said after his victory over the Dark Lord, to just about every person in the planet.

“Finally.” Laura smirks. “I have been looking forward to this all week.”

“Ara. Who shall I beat down today?” Kurumi giggles, as you all head outside.

You and your friends easily hit the qualification line for Combat Training and kept on running. The only reason you attended this class was because you wanted a reason to keep your skills sharp. And what better way to practice than fighting the other members of your party? Gray Soul had been hungering for blood all weekend. You are more than glad to quench its thirst.

You scan the field. Syoko isn’t here. Sachiko had mentioned she would be given a form of special consideration, but it looks like it hasn’t gone through just yet…

“Alright, let’s get started!” Your bro announces, doing some stretches on the hard ground. You, your bro and the rest have been given free reign for this period. The five of you could do whatever you wanted, as long as it didn’t destroy school property outside the training field or severely injure anybody.

Who will you fight?
>Sachiko. Madness against corrupted light.
>Laura. The land against the sky.
>Kurumi. You’re going to convince her, so you’d like to know her better.
>Tatsuya. Man vs man.

My point is that we're not likely to learn anything new from it. Better to fight someone we haven't dueled two hundred times before.
>>
>>39477297
Well when you've fought the same person many times it forces you to innovate and try new things, because they've already seen everything you have to throw at them already.

>>39477055
>Kurumi. You’re going to convince her, so you’d like to know her better.

>>39477317
But you're more likely to have to try something new if you're fighting someone new. Bro's not likely to have come up with anything since the last time we fought him. The only thing that would be new is that his Reality Marble changed, but since he's not going to use that it's pointless. It would be better to fight someone we don't fight often, force us out of our comfort zone.
>>
>>39477378
What. No, man. Think of it like MonHun. Going up against a new monster, you're going to play it pretty conservatively until you learn its movesets and attack patterns, and until you know how to fight it, you'll just fall back to your fundamentals.

When you know how to fight it is when to experiment with taking it down.
>>
>>39477378
You are assuming that we are going to be busting out all of the absurd powers. If it's kept to fighting technique then growth is more likely. And you don't need to have thought up something before hand. Improvising on the fly is perfectly viable.

You know exactly who to fight. It is the adversary you will have face in the near future. Not on the traditional battlefield, where steel slices into flesh and blood spills like wine, but in a place where words will be exchanged and emotions will be shattered. On this day, the Mad Dog of Ouroboros will face the Silver Queen’s greatest and most traitorous lieutenant.

You draw your blade. Gray Soul appears in your hand in medium form, the mad beast barking crazily. Drools falls from its sharp teeth, and its lust for battle is thick in the air.

“Kurumi.” You growl, catching the girl’s attention. “Fight me.”

“Ara ara, how quick of you, Kazuya-kun.” Kurumi states, smiling sweetly. “I could feel your bloodlust from all the way over here.”

“We have unfinished business, you and I.” You say.

“True, true.” Kurumi agrees, stepping forward towards an empty spot on the training field. The two of you are now facing each other, the killing intent palpable. Behind you, several innocent students shiver. “That dodgeball battle was nothing. A real battle should be fought with all our might, clashing against each other with the intent to murder!”

You smirk. “You won’t get a chance for a draw, Tokisaki. Only one of us will win.”

“Ara ara, such confidence.” Kurumi replies, her smile now maniacal and wide. “But can you back it up?”

“Then I shall spar with Koshimizu.” Laura grunts, watching the two of you trash talk each other. “It will hardly be a challenge, though…”

“Oh man, looks like I’m gonna be a referee.” Your bro mutters. “Fine. I’ll fight Laura after this, okay?”

“You better not regret this, Kazuya-kun. Ufufufu…” Kurumi focuses her magic, and the sheer force of her power radiates out from around her. The wind billows, and shadows congeal on her feminine form. They cover her body, spreading over her legs, arms and torso. Her school uniform disappears, and it is replaced by an orange and black dress. Her hair twists and curls into twin tails, and her left golden eye is revealed for the world to see. The handles of the clock twitch, and begin to spin.

The transformation is complete. The battle dress is fully prepared. Time is flowing on her side. A musket is loaded and armed. She grips it tightly and cackles.

“Prepare yourself, you mad dog!”

“Let’s see how much you laugh,” You snarl, madness curling around your mind. “When I smash that pretty head of yours into the dirt!”

Your bro raises his hand.

“Three…two…one…begin!”

The match starts, and the battle begins.

Writing...

>New ability of Kurumi Tokisaki revealed
>City of Devouring Time (A): Kurumi summons the essence of the Angel Zafkiel, which appears as a gigantic ethereal clock. When it is out, Kurumi’s magic potential will increase by a sub-rank. The clock can also act as a battering object, and will cause heavy physical damage.

[KURUMI’S BULLETS]
>Aleph: First hour. Increases agility on target.
>Bet: Second hour. Decreases movement on target.
>Dalet: Fourth hour. Rewinds time on target.
>Zayin: Seventh hour. Freezes time on target. If Kurumi shoots herself with this bullet, she will stop time momentarily. The effect has A- level of magic.
>Het: Eighth hour. Creates clones of target.
>Tet: Ninth hour. Allows Kurumi to share her sense from a different time dimension (unused).
>Yud: Tenth hour. Sees into the past of the target.
>Yud Bet: Twelfth hour. Travel back in time at the cost of her life (unused).
>Noble Phantasm: Thirteenth hour. Erases time, up to thirty seconds.

Gimel, Hei, Vav and Yud Alpeh are currently unknown.

Za Warudo, with the only limitation being her own energy. So if we can outlast being shot and stabbed for several minutes without being able to defend, we win
>>
>>39478235

It can help depending on which side you use to shoot - having to turn in your non-dominant direction can fuck up your aim.

Assuming we're facing down the clock from 12, we'd be running right and Kurumi would be turning left, so if she's a righty-shooter it would help.
>>
>>39478253
I thought it was more like King Crimson.
>>
>>39478190
Just looked her up on a wiki, she seems to have everything but za warudo. Hasteing/slowing a target, rewinding or freezing a target, pulling in clones from other timelines. Everything is target based though, nothing universal scale like za warudo.

>>39478236
Oop nvm, apparently she can za warudo by shooting herself. Also she has a 13th hour King Crimson quest only ability.

Oh god what do
>>
>>39478235

>>39477962 is me.

Going off the ENTIRELY BASELESS assumption that she's right-handed, with said primary hand on the trigger and left hand being used for stability, counter-clockwise from her position gives her less lateral gun movement before she has to start to bodily turn- which affects practical angles of aiming. If all holds true and we go clockwise, she could one-hand it for a quickfire shot with reasonable accuracy at more extreme angles. At least, that's my logic. I'm probably completely wrong.
>>
>>39478236
huh, she's more powerful than bro by a fuckton. how did we beat her, does Ourobors soul make him immune to time magic?
>>
>>39478345
She's a sluuuuuuuuuuuuuuut.
>>
>>39478345
We've got pretty strong antimagic of our own, all of her bullets except Thirteenth Hour (and Seventh Hour with City of Devouring Time active) would have minimal effect on us. So what probably happened was that we tanked her time magic while Bro fought her, or something like that.
>>
>>39478345
It slowly raises his stats, while it drops everyone else's. Basically at peak he has a++ or higher stats across the board.
>>
>>39478400
true, but 30 seconds of time stop means she can just slit the throats of everyone around her. and only Souji and maybe Courier Six have real ranged capabilities that could beat her pistol in distance
>>
>>39478345
Yes, actually. All time/space manipulation is outlawed in his reality marble.
>>
>>39478236
Hmmm...This is not a battle that will be won by sheer force. We're gonna have to out-clever this bitch. Everything else is dealable, but the fact that she can pop timestop at will and relatively without warning is annoying. That's not even mentioning her friggen King Crimson phantasm.
>>
>>39478429
>Forgetting about STREUM already
>>
>>39478429
We have anti-magic that negates it down to half(or completely since time magic is sensitive). And bro can reinforce his skin with dragon essence to negate or mitigate damage, which gets stronger as he does.
>>
>>39478519
15 seconds is still plenty, and bro can't do anything if time is already stopped and a bullet is going through his eye socket from 100 yards away
>>
>>39478473
Not quite without warning, she has to point her pistol first at the seven position on her clock, and then shoot herself. Also her clones are mad costly, she can't make too many or replenish her supplies mid battle without literally stealing our time, which I hope she won't do
>>
>>39478541
Endurance A++ when he's full raging might actually make his eye bulletproof
>>
>>39478541
Unless of course the bullet bounces off Cause rank A++ endurance.

You forget this is anima land heroes can tank a shit ton of damage.

Also we may negate it outright considering how it works.
>>
I'm having a hard time thinking of anything solid, but I've got a couple ideas. 1: We need to get her to blow a timestop on a reaction that's not necessary. A false alarm that makes her think we're coming from the west, but we're chillin in the east. In general, we need to make her flinch and make her spend juice on defending against shit that isn't coming. Probably won't be easy, and it's not exactly comprehensive, but it's all I got. Time shit is nuts to deal with.
>>
>>39478616
Also rocks being thrown from A+ strength make for good range damage.

Kurumi was fast and agile. Back when she had been the enemy, a lieutenant in Azazel’s army, she had given the party no shortage of trouble with her time manipulation shenanigans, her cloning techniques and her fast footwork. She had shot time-stopping bullets, freezing the crew in place so that she could pick them off one by one. Whenever your party had injured her, she would just use her fourth bullet to rewind back the effects of time on her to the point where she had not been damaged at all. If she got cornered, she would just summon a bunch of clones and escape in the resulting chaos. You understood why the Silver Queen had once held Kurumi in such high regard. Back in the last confrontation, she had been able to take on you, Laura and Myde together and hold her own.

In the end, your bro had soundly beaten Kurumi and recruited her into the party. But he had only done so because he had drawn her into the embryo of his Reality Marble, where time manipulation had no meaning. In there, Kurumi was near powerless, and her face had made a nice cushion for bro’s fist of justice.

You command Gray Soul to shift. The steel flattens into a katana of fine precision and sharpness. Then you reach into the back of your mind, and unlock some of Gray Soul’s restraints. Instantly, the beast roars, and the power born from insanity floods into you. Your muscles strengthen, your heart beats rapidly in your chest and you roar. It is a guttural howl, of violence and bloodshed and the death it entails.

Winning against Kurumi Tokisaki was not impossible. You had beaten it beore.

Winning against Kurumi Tokisaki was not impossible. You had beaten it beore.

“Alpeh, first bullet!” Kurumi raises her musket to her head, and fires. In the past, she had to summon her angel to use her time magic. It was a liability she had worked around the clock to get rid of. The bullet pierces through her head, and dissipates into shadow. Her time is altered in her favour, and now she is zipping across the battlefield, firing stray bullets at you. Zayin bullets, no doubt. Your magic resistance would heavily reduce their effects, but they would slow you down for a fraction of a second if they hit. A fraction of a second that Kurumi would have no hesitation in exploiting.

You dash towards her, parrying bullets as you go. Dust is kicked up. Kurumi leaps backward, and endless stream of metal whooshing out of her muskets. Eventually, you close the distance and reach the point where your sword can strike her body.

She laughs nastily, and rushes forward into your swing.

“Not bad, not bad. Zayin!” She fires, directly towards your chest.

Pastebin says medium for is best for blocking and parrying. Additionally, A slow bullet is much less terrifying than the timestop bullet, which has high magic rank that our resistance gets the bare minimum defense on it. In short I don't want to chance it especially when she's using it despite the fact we've been blocking her shit.

Shit. This isn’t good. If you got hit by a Zayin bullet here, in a place where Kurumi is literally inches in front of you, it could cost you the match. Shoving power to your legs, you kick off against the ground and dash to the side. The bullet sails past you, now harmless. Kurumi’s eyes track you as you move to the right. The handles of the golden clock are whirring, counting down her time. Then an opening appears. You command your body to force even more strength of your limbs, and this time dash heavily to the right. It hurts, as your muscles strain, but it is alright.

Because now you are on the left, and Kurumi is gasping in surprise.

You swing downwards, your smile wide. Yet your opponent refuses to let this get the best of you. At the same time, Kurumi whirls around and slams her muskets at Gray Soul’s blade.

“Did you forget I was ambidextrous, Kazuya-kun?” Kurumi laughs, sparks flying as the metal part of her guns clashes against the steel of your sword. This is only something she can do because your blade is in light form at the moment, in any

You smirk wildly. “Of course I didn’t! Eat this!”

And at once, Gray Soul transforms. The blade expands, culminating into a slab of pure steel. You slice down with medium form. Kurumi had never been physically inclined, and her guard is broken for a tiny moment. You then cut to the side, and simultaneously she leaps backward again.

Steel meets flesh. Redness coats the tip of Gray Soul.

“First blood is mine.” You grin.

Kurumi stares down at her bleeding hand, and shrugs. “Ara, so it seems. Honestly though Kazuya-kun, you should have tried harder. A cut this shallow isn’t enough to impair my aiming skills at all!” She states. She then reloads and locks onto her own head with the musket. “Oh well. Eight bullet, Het!”

The gun fires, and the scent of gunpowder fills the air. Kurumi’s head whips back, and she staggers backward. She giggles, a shrill sound of a woman gone mad in the heat of battle. Something catches you from the corner of your eyes, and you glance around to see pools of shadow forming on the ground. A hand crawls out from within one, then another. Entire arms reach out and support themselves on the dust-covered ground. A head pops out, its eyes blinking. Five more follow it. Before long, around twenty clones have been summoned, all of them wielding flintlock pistols. They are all pointing at you.

“Well, shit.” You begin, stepping back a little. “This looks bad.”

“Getting cold feet, Kazuya-kun?” A clone giggles, still pointing her pistol at your head.

“Actually, HELL NO!” With that last remark, you dash forward into the mob, directly towards the true Kurumi Tokisaki. Instantly, the rest of the clones leap at you, firing and scrabbling to hit your body with the butts of their guns. They come at you from all angles, and you slice the ones in front. The clones are cut in half, blood spilling out of their newly separated torsos. Before the bodies can create a mess, they fade back into nothingness and disappear.

A clone tries to smack her pistol at your head. Smirking, you grab her by the arm, and fling her over your shoulder. Then you toss her at the rest of her colleagues. It is a perfect seven-ten split. The effect is like hurling a live bowling ball at a particularly sentient set of pins. The clone barrels into clones, sending them flying. At the last second, it goes directly towards the main Kurumi. She doesn’t flinch at all. She grabs the clone and hurls it aside, sending it flying into the distance.

“I’m coming for you, Tokisaki!” You roar, striding forward, slicing flesh into your embrace.

“It will not be so easy!” The rest of the clones yell, firing their guns towards you. You bat the bullets aside, but one managed to nick your flesh.

The clones are weak, dragged out of various points of time in Kurumi’s memory. The bullet does not do much. Your concentration is barely shot. It doesn’t even hurt, your immense endurance sees to that. But it is enough, for Kurumi to play her first trump card.

“Zafkiel, I summon thee!” A loud explosion occurs in the middle of the courtyard, and the rest of the clones are blown aside. A wave of dust and air rushes towards you, and guard yourself with the flat side of your blade.

When it clears, Kurumi is proudly standing in the middle of the courtyard. Behind her in a large ornate analog clock, the edges of which are shimmering and jaggedly circling in thin air. The angel had been summoned, and her magic had been increased. The City of Devouring Time was ready to unleash its wicked work upon the world.

“Splendid, wonderful!” Kurumi laughs, “This is so much fun! Don’t you agree, Kazuya-kun?”

You are not afraid. Your grip tightens on Gray Soul’s handle. It’s quivering with excitement. For once, you share the same sentiment.

“Yeah, Tokisaki. I agree wholeheartedly.” You say, eyes wide and teeth clenched.

The two of you rush at each other once more. The confrontation today would truly be a battle for the ages.

“WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU GUYS DOING?”

Or rather, it would be if your bro hadn’t jumped right in the middle of the two of you, and explained that both of you were in trouble for nearly reducing the entire training field to rubble. Apparently, seeing the clones of a school idol getting chopped in half like salmon slices by another school idol tended to psychologically scar students. Especially when pints of shadow blood are flying everywhere.

The blood is still on the ground, too…

With that, we'll end today. Sorry everyone, but I can't stay here today. Once again, I must apologize for the drop in the quality of my writing. This does not mean that I don't want to write Harem Bro Quest any more, oh no. I still love writing about Kazuya, harems and all the shenanigans that occur.

Maybe ending the battle so anti-climatically wasn't a good idea. I debated this for a while, but I didn't want it to drag on for too long. Let me know what you guys think.

Actually i think it's perfect ending for this thread. At least, no one damaged, right? I mean, permanently? Or at very least, someone important, right?

Well, I think Laura will be easier then Sachiko by a degree. Sure, she a cyborg with heart of steel, but she is not megalomaniac with a inflated ego. We can logically convince her.
But Ayase no matter what will Yandere snap and try to kill our waifus/bro/us/syoko.
>>
>>39479849
I'd actually say Sachiko would be easier than expected, because she's predictable. Play to her ego, spin the scenario as beneficial for her in both personal and business life matters, sprinkle a little genuine concern for bro and everyone else on top of it for garnish, and she could be easier to figure on than expected.
>>
>>39479890
She thinks about our bro as her toy. This going to be rougher ride then cyborg german girl.
>>
>>39479708
imo you should give fewer options. The amount of choices of what we can do is great, but having to factor in weapon size and madness and action is just a little too much. I'd say shorten them to one option that we can activate if the need arises.
