"Hahaha, you really think you stand a chance, little boy?" Gedar asks.

Your friends rush to do as you've said, and you prepare to face a monster.

"You have no chance of defeating me on your own, little boy," he tells you, spinning his swords and preparing to attack.

Bulma made sure to add your sword to your costume, so you're never really without it.

You draw your weapon and meet your opponent head on, starting with a downward slash that he easily blocks with his right sword. He slashes with the other weapon, and you're forced to leap back to avoid being skewered.

Not one to be easily deterred, you leap high into the air and quickly descend, stabbing down at your opponent's head. Gedar easily parries the attack, however, and stabs upward. You twist quickly, keeping yourself from being stabbed in the heart, but the blade does cut into your side, causing you to hiss in pain as it draws blood.

You roll in the air, narrowly avoiding Gedar's next attack. Landing, you watch as the machine examines his bloodied blade, chuckling.

"I had hoped you would provide more of a challenge," he comments. "It seems you Saiyasentai are all talk."

Perhaps you should have practiced with your sword more often. You're clearly outmatched when it comes to combat with that sort of weapon. However, you're not just some swordsman, you're a Superhuman, you just need to put your mind to this, and you can emerge victorious.

Despite being clearly outmatched, you figure that there's no time like the present to practice your sword skills. So, you get into a defensive stance and prepare for Gedar to attack.

He doesn't keep you waiting, barreling towards you swiftly and beginning with a powerful downward slash that makes your knees buckle as you block it. He pushes down with incredible strength, then stabs forward with his other blade.

You twist, avoiding that attack, but are struck by a powerful kick that knocks you off of your feet and sends the sword flying from your hands. You roll over to avoid being stabbed, then leap to your feet, shooting into the sky and putting distance between yourself and your foe.

"Not so fast!" he calls, flapping his mighty wings and taking to the sky.

You cup your hands at your side, gathering as much energy as you can as quickly as you can.

"KAMEHAMEHA!" you shout, firing a powerful blast of energy down at your pursuer.

This seems to take your foe by surprise, and the attack strikes him head on, sending him back to Earth and causing him to slide backwards as he lands.

"Now that's more like it!" he shouts.

He doesn't appear to have taken much damage. And, between your wound and the energy you just used, you can't keep this up for long.

You raise your right hand above your head, spinning it in a circle and creating a disk of energy.

"DESTRUCTO DISK!" you shout, throwing it down at your foe.

Gedar raises his blade to block the disk, only for your attack to slice right through your opponent's sword and cut off his hand at the wrist.

He looks briefly at his injury before rapidly taking to the sky as you throw another disk his way. Letting out a frustrated roar, Gedar begins rapidly approaching, weaving to avoid every Destructo Disk you throw his way.

"Are you guys coming?" you ask into your watch as you throw another disk.

Gedar avoids the attack, only to be sent plummeting to the ground as Kazuma and Billy attack from above, firing energy waves into his back.

"Sorry we kept you waiting," Billy tells you. "Now, let's have some fun!"


Gedar pushes himself to his feet, only to be immediately blown back as Videl knocks him off balance with a charging kick, and then Gohan and Haya hit him with powerful energy waves.

Gadar is sent flying back into the smoke, and a colossal ball of fire erupts from the area.

You land beside your friends, and notice the robots and rubble slowly being sucked into the cloud. They begin to move more rapidly, and soon vanish altogether as the ground begins to rumble.

Gathering your energy, you fire a blast into the smoke, causing another ball of fire to erupt from within.

The ground trembles beneath you, and you hear noise from within the smoke, as if something incredibly heavy is dragging across the ground.

"Gohan, energy shield!" you shout to your friend.

Gohan nods, standing at your side. The two of you create a dome of energy around yourselves and your friends as you attempt to blow the smoke away with your psychic powers.

It doesn't work, but that doesn't really matter, as the source of the disturbance reveals itself.

Gedar rises from the smoke, but not by air. No, he simply stands up, rising above the cloud and towering over everything around him. He was large before, but now he's absolutely massive, standing taller than any building in the city.

His hand is repaired, and clutching a massive blade once more. Gedar lets out a rumbling laugh, taking a step forward and causing the ground to shake once again. You're not sure that your shield will hold if he steps on it.

You and your friends zip around the colossal machine, firing powerful energy attacks while narrowly avoiding being flattened by your massive foe.

Kazuma uses his Spirit Sword to hit Haya's exploding energy blasts at the enemy, while Billy fires his Devil Drill Beam. Gohan and Videl rush towards the machine, with Gohan using his energy to create a gust of wind, giving Videl extra speed and momentum to strike at the creature's head.

You throw a Destructo Disk at Gedar's leg, resulting in nothing more than a tiny scratch that the machine doesn't even really seem to notice.

As you plummet to avoid a slash from one of your foe's colossal swords, you hear your communicator beep.

"Hey, it's Bulma again," you hear. "It looks like you guys are in a bit of trouble. From the readings I'm getting, your attacks are having no effect, otherwise I wouldn't recommend this."

"Recommend what?" Haya asks.

"I've been working on some advanced machinery myself," Bulma answers. "Doctor Gero may have been a monster, but his skills in robotics were nothing short of amazing. I've got some machines here that might just help you turn the tide of this fight, if you're interested."

"What kind of machines?" you ask Bulma as you fly to avoid another slash.

"Specialized robots that you will pilot," Bulma tells you. "They are powered by your own energy."

"Our own energy isn't enough!" Videl points out.

"I'm aware," Bulma tells her in irritation. "That's why I gave them all a very special function. They can merge together into one colossal machine, carrying the sum total of all of your powers."

She's right, that might even the odds.

"Send them," you tell her.

"Okay, get away from this guy, then hold your watches above your head," she tells you. "I'm activating them now."

You and your friends fly far from Gedar, landing atop a building and holding your hands above your head. The ground soon begins to rumble again, and you get your first look at the machines.

A white, serpentine Dragon races through the sky, and your watch begins to vibrate. You leap into the air, landing inside the dragonlike machine.

A green Gorilla charges down the street, and Gohan leaps into the air, landing inside of it.

A red bull comes charging soon after, and Haya leaps into it.

A blue Kangaroo hops through the streets, and Videl leaps into the air, landing inside of it.

A yellow Turtle comes next, and is soon occupied by Kazuma.

Finally, an orange bear comes running, and Billy pilots it.

The controls within your machine seem pretty basic, and you buckle in, feeling electricity jolt through your body. You experimentally fly for a few seconds, making sure you have the basic controls down. Beyond that, there are two buttons, one labelled "Power Blast" and the other labelled "Merge."

The machines all move towards each other, your dragon straightens out, its tail becoming much sharper, and its tongue sticking out. The head of the turtle retreats into its shell, and its legs curl together, creating a handle.

The other machines merge together, the Gorrila's arms and hands becoming the arms and hands of the larger robot, as the rest of it forms part of the main body. The Bull provides the head, and the Kangaroo's legs extend, allowing the machine to stand upright.

The machine grips the Dragon's tongue, and picks up the turtle, equipping itself with a sword and shield.

You find yourself transported into a central area within the head of the bull. Sitting beside your friends, you look forward to see Gedar lumbering towards you.

"Not bad, Saiyasentai! But you are still no match for me!" he declares.

Given how your previous attempts at attacking went, you decide that going on the defensive might be a better idea.

Besides, waiting for your foe will give you a few seconds to look at the controls.

It's surprisingly simplistic. You input basic commands such as "attack" or "defend" and the machine analyzes its opponent, finding the best way to go about those orders. Specialized attacks such as a power blast require additional input. Otherwise, the machine does most of the work, all you need to do is power it.

You input the defense command, and your machine prepares itself for Gedar, bringing up its shield to block Gedar's first strike, and its sword to block the other.

Your machine pushes against the other machine, and ultimately, both are forced to step back. Your machine keeps defending as Gedar comes in for another attack, stepping back as it blocks each strike.

There is a bright flash of light, and Gedar vanishes.

You and your friends disassemble the giant mech, and then eject from your smaller machines. You all feel a bit tired after the battle, but otherwise okay.

They erupt into cheers, joyously proclaiming their thanks to the Saiyasentai. And, despite the pain you're in, you can't help but smile beneath your helmet.

"For now, we need to get our leader patched up," Kazuma tells the people.

"Was he hurt?" a reporter asks.

"Just a little scratch," Videl answers. "Nothing he can't handle."

"Yeah, the robot monster got hurt a lot worse," Billy tells them.

"Such is the fate of anyone who would threaten the good people of this City," Gohan announces.

"So, take care," Haya says. "And when you need us, we'll be here."

You and your friends take off into the sky, with Haya carrying you. When asked about this, she simply comments that she owes you one. Upon reaching Capsule Corp, everyone deactivates their disguises, causing you to have a pouch of Senzus in your clothes.

Eating one, you feel all better.

"Well, I'm surprised you got hurt in a battle like that," Vegeta comments, stepping into the room.

He's in his base form, but you can sense that he's been training hard. After all, his armor is in pretty bad shape. His Super Saiyan powers would likely be on par with Goku.

Vegeta chuckles as Trunks begins crying in the other room. Bulma sighs as goes to take care of him.

"Vegeta," you say as the Saiyan Prince prepares to leave the room.

"What is it?" he growls.

Vegeta turns towards you, thinking it over. "Fine, but toss me one of those damn beans, first."

You throw a Senzu Bean to Vegeta, who quickly eats it before turning and walking towards the gravity chamber.

"Kaguya, are you sure this is such a good idea?" Kazuma asks.

"Normally I'd call Kazuma a wuss, but I think I have to agree with him this time," Haya tells you. "You're stronger, but Vegeta always takes these things too seriously."

"You would know," Videl teases.

"Oh, like you can judge me!" Haya retorts.

"You can beat him!" Billy assures you.

Gohan shrugs. "Good luck."

You follow Vegeta into the gravity room, and he immediately transforms into a Super Saiyan. You can sense that he is indeed roughly as strong as Goku now, more than powerful enough to give you a good fight.

"So, should we spar like this, or do you want to fight at five hundred times gravity?" he asks, smirking. "Either way, I think I have the advantage."

Vegeta smirks, setting the room to five hundred times the gravity of Earth.

"This chamber is sturdy, right?" you ask.

He nods. "Of course it is, now, let's do this, shall we?"

You answer by springing into action slowed slightly by the intense gravity, but still moving quite fast.

But, all Vegeta needs is for you to be a tiny bit slower, and when you reach him, he seems to vanish into thin air. You pretty much know his attack is coming before he makes it, but he kicks you in the back, sending you flying towards the nearest wall.

Flipping in the air, you push off from the wall, flying towards Vegeta, who throws an energy attack your way. You knock it aside, and counter with one of your own. Vegeta laughs, knocking your blast aside before coming rushing at you.

The two of you slam your fists together, each of you bringing up your knees at the same instant. Your knees strike together as you try to hit each other in the chest and block knee attacks.

The two of you break apart, and Vegeta chuckles. "Come now, that can't be all you've got. At least, I certainly hope not, I haven't even gotten warmed up yet."

We usually don't anymore honestly. Besides "charge" isn't by default always a trap option. Sometimes getting stuck in is the right choice. We've been pretty damn cautious with most of our fights except sword bot. That bit us in the butt with Broly, but thankfully it worked out okay.

"This is pathetic!" he snaps. "How in the hell was I defeated by such a disgrace of a fighter? Not even Nappa fights like such a fool."

He raises his hand, gathering energy. "You'd better remember how to fight fast."

I think a few of us have learned the lesson by now, but maybe I should say it in clear terms;

Do NOT ever, ever, ever, ever, EVER charge.

In many quests it's a good idea. In many games it's a good idea. In virtually any real, one on one fight with a single opponent and virtually any style, it is a GOOD idea. But DRALO doesn't think so. We've gotten better results with other options virtually every time they've been tried.

There is no reason to EVER use the charge option in this quest. Even if we're fighting a much weaker opponent, there are virtually no situations in which we would be better off charging than using a ki attack.

That seems to be the case to me as well. If we play defensively we still get beaten up and when we use energy attacks we quickly lose our stamina. We should probably just assume anything that's a default option with no embellishment on it is a trap option and write in something different if there's nothing that stands out. That seems to be the only times we really have any success.

People are forgetting we are fighting in 500 times gravity, regardless of what action we take we are still going to get our ass beat in for bit. At least with charging we can catch up faster and I'm pretty sure if we defended, Vegeta would just switch tactics by firing ki blasts at a distance. Regardless of what choice we take, we are still going to get beating on for awhile, the only thing i'm amazed at this point is the fact that Kaguya hasn't copied Goku's, Gohan's, Nappa's, Piccolo's and Videl's way of fighting style and at least incorporated some of it to his own style.

He very well may have copied things from them as he's improved. It isn't really reflected though since his actions are controlled by /tg/ and all the technical stuff is just window dressing. The only thing that matters is if Dralo likes the choice we vote on or not based on the situation. In honesty we probably have more battle experience than even Goku with the amount of time we've spent in the pendulum room coupled with our actual fights, it doesn't actually have any impact though. Our ability to close the distance and engage in melee hasn't improved since the saiyan arc nor has our ability to block or evade. We can come up with new moves or powers and we can close the relative power gap during training arcs, but that's about all we can really improve in character. Kaguya's key to success is /tg/ correctly guessing what Dralo thinks is the right answer during a vote and choosing the right training options when gearing up for the next big fight, that's just the nature of a freeform quest like this.

Strategic time skips coupled with /tg/ being somewhat burnt out on playing through training sessions for a while would be my guess. That and I would honestly be surprised if us reaching Golden Ape Gohan tier wouldn't just make the remaining fights in quest pointless (hyper easy) or ridiculous (suddenly everything is on that level). At this point the perfect partners for that would be both Kazuma and Videl, since with Kazuma his melee combat is weak so this would be more than a wake up call for him to improve his hand to hand. And for Videl we could test the telekinesis on her ki attacks, since those are her weak points.
We could group up and go train somewhere, Videl would help us train Kazuma in improving his combat skills, while both Kazuma and us would help Videl with her ki skills.

Just stopping by to dispense some free advice, but the problem is with who you're dealing with. One option with SOM will be correct, and the others will all be wrong. There will rarely if ever be any evidence to indicate which option is correct, and when you get it wrong it means you're stupid.
