You are Siegfried Schmidt, a former guard from the city of Morsland. Due to various circumstances, you have become the temporary wielder of Galadriel, a holy sword which houses a powerful six-winged angel of the same name. Now you have come to the White Watchtower, a fortress close to the border between the Forsaken Lands and the kingdom of Iseria, to train with the crusaders so that you can protect yourself from the demons that might come after you now that the sword is in your possession.

After successfully enchanting your shield and sparring with Roland, you and the honor guard left with a group of survivors to escort them to their new home, a small border village named Miller's Point. Unfortunately, you arrived to find that the village had been destroyed by a demonic incursion, led by none other than Andras himself, who left one of the surviving villagers with a message for you at the Watchtower; that he would have his revenge for the lost of his arm.

Back at the cave, you and the others check the rest of the surviving villagers for wounds and heal any you find. It has stopped raining now, but you can still hear the thunder off in the distance. The black clouds are far away now, but still in sight.

With the villagers dealt with, you pull your honor guard aside so you can discuss what to do now.

"We need to get word back to the tower. Knight-Captain needs to know what happened here." You announce once everyone's gathered.

"We could send Berry to follow the clouds, keep track of where they're going." Joan suggests with Berry's help.

"What happens if they attack another village though? We should send Berry to inform the captain, and follow the cloud ourselves, so we can intervene if they attack again." Ganelon says.

"Bad idea. What if they notice us following them? If they have enough with them to destroy a whole village, I doubt we could fend them all off, let alone Andras as well. Besides, what do we do with the survivors and the villagers?" Justine interjects.

"We could just tell them to follow Berry back to the Watchtower." Erika suggests.

"Well, Siegfried's dealt with Andras before, and technically he's the one in charge here. What do you think we should do?" Nerillian asks.

Well, if the demons in the clouds attack another village, Berry won't be able to do anything if you send him. If you were to follow the clouds, you could probably intervene if they attack again, though it would be bad if you were noticed. What should you do?

"We'll follow the clouds ourselves. Send Berry to the Watchtower and have the survivors follow him."

Joan nods, and Berry flaps over to where the survivors are sitting. "This way! This way! Follow me!" He caws, and the survivors slowly get up and follow him outside, back towards the tower. The rest of you jump on your horses and ride towards the clouds, keeping a fair distance so as not to be caught.

-----
"There's no doubt about it. We have an invasion on our hands."

The Captain announces to the Watchtower officers what he saw on the map. Multiple demonic incursions, crossing the border in a large group. The wards placed near the border could only track them a certain distance away from the border, but they at least had an idea of which direction they were heading.

"Sir, if I may speak, how do we know this wasn't just a pack of Scavengers crossing? It's happened before."

"Not in these numbers. Even if that were true, an incursion that large requires action."

"Do we know where they're heading?"

"Only that they are heading west. We don't know their exact location, but we have an idea of which direction they went."

"Then what should we do?"

"Send out the patrols, have them spread out and scan west. Do not engage alone, report back to me so that we can-"

"Sir!" An armored guard from the gate throws the door open, causing everyone to turn their heads. "I have urgent news!"

"Speak quickly then."
>>
>>39449415
Berry flies over the gate guard's head and lands on the large table in front of the captain. Behind the gate guard, a large group of people look around anxiously.

"Demon attack! Miller's Point down! Demons fall from clouds, Siegfried and friends following now!"

The captain swears loudly. Of course, Galadriel's new champion just had to run into the demonic incursion. That boy seemed to have a bad habit of finding trouble. Or perhaps it was the other way around.

"Are they keeping their distance? Where are they now?"

The raven closes it's eyes contemplatively. A moment passes, before it's eyes snap back open and it flutters to the right, pointing with it's beak.

"This way!"

The old captain nods. "Everyone, change of plans. Gather your squads and meet me at the stables in 30 minutes. We must be quick."

------
A few days have passed since you left to pursue the clouds. Thankfully, the clouds passed over a forest, making it easier for you and the others to avoid being seen thanks to the forest canopy.

Currently, everyone has stopped to make camp for the night. The clouds have come to a stop, so everyone is taking the opportunity to stop and get some sleep. You don't know why the clouds stop every night, as to your knowledge demons do not need to sleep. Regardless, you're glad they do, as otherwise following them may have been impossible.

Nerillian has set up improvised tents for the others using sticks, rope, and leaves. It seems he's had a lot of experience in the wilderness. However, you brought your backpack with you, which contains the same tent you used on the trip from Morsland to the Watchtower, so you decide to use that instead.

"I'll take the first watch." Ganelon offers. The others nod, and head to their tents. You've all been riding near constantly since this morning, so everyone is tired.

You head back to your tent and lie down on your bedroll, setting Galadriel off to the side. Before you head to sleep though, you ask Galadriel a few questions telepathically.

'I don't get it, why does the stormcloud keep stopping?' You ask her.

'Who knows.' Galadriel responds. 'Though if I had to guess, I would say it is so that Andras may rest.'

'Rest? I thought angels and demons didn't need to sleep?'

'We don't, but Andras is not fully demonic. He was born human, just like you, before Malaphas turned him much like Alastor turned the ones you saw at the farm. The process of turning a mortal into a demon is very complicated, so it is possible he still retains parts of his humanity, like the need to sleep or eat.'

'If only he was still as strong as a normal human too. But that would be too easy I guess. What about the thundercloud? Have you seen anything like that before?'

'It is a common practice among demons with the capacity of lightning spells. I do not know if the demons he has brought with him use such magic, but I know Andras does. It is likely he's using the clouds to obscure them, so villages will think nothing of their approach until it is too late.'
>>
>>39450115
'Where do you think he'll strike next then? For that matter, why invade now? They've been quiet for so long, why attack now.'

'It is possible they are attacking now because they feel threatened because I have selected a new champion. Temporary or not, I suppose it matters little to them. Of course, from the message Andras left the villagers with, I imagine his desire for revenge has played at least some part in it. As for where they'll attack next, I am not sure, but I do have a theory.'

'And what's that?'

'If Andras's goal is revenge, then it is possible he is planning to attack Morsland.'

>'Are you sure? Shit!'
>'Why attack Miller's Point then? Was it just in the way?'
>'Should I tell the others and head there now? We might be able to beat them there.'

>>39451049
She's a muscle-head. Sieg doesn't need to compare to her. Just train until she's weaker than him.
>>
>>39450135
You pinch the bridge of your nose and sigh.

'Somehow I kind of figured. Aureus dammit, I hate this job. Should I tell the others and head there now? We might be able to beat them there.'

'If you think that would be best, then yes. However, everyone appears to be tired right now. It might be a good idea to wait until they have had time to rest. You should also consider the possibility of Andras stopping to attack another village between here and Morsland, much like he did Miller's Point.'

You furrow your brow and consider the situation. If you gathered everyone now for a forced march, they may be exhausted if something happens between here and Morsland and they need to fight. However, it would buy you more time to warn Morsland and prepare for Andras's attack if you did. On top of that, there's a chance Andras might stop to attack another village between here and Morsland, so you might consider splitting up and leaving some to follow the clouds while you and others warn Morsland of the incoming attack. Doing so would mean you'd have less people to help you when Andras gets there though.

That's not so much an issue of Siegfried not being fit and more an issue of Erika just being more so. It's essentially like "What, you can only do 100 pushups? I can do twice that, do you even lift?"

Note that these aren't exact numbers, but the point remains. Shit, now I want to request a reaction image like that from Decu next time he does a draw thread. I saw someone make a similar request in his thread earlier, shame he never got to it.

We're only a half-dozen (albeit well-trained) soldiers. The demonic host certainly outclasses us by several orders of magnitude and it's just by good luck we haven't been caught yet. Cutting losses is the most tactically sound choice, not to mention it's an easy choice to justify in character since Sieg would have a strong desire to save his family.

'You're right. Everyone's tired, it's best to wait until tomorrow to head for Morsland. Splitting up isn't the best idea though, so we'll just have to warn any villages we pass by on the way there and hope they hide in time.'

'Very well then. In the meantime, you should sleep. Should Andras attack Morsland, you need to be rested in case you need to fight.'

'Alright. Not sure how well I'll sleep knowing Andras is heading for home.'

You feel Galadriel start to say something before she hesitates. It isn't until you've closed your eyes and nearly dozed off before she finally says what's on her mind.

'I am sorry, Siegfried. It is my fault you've been dragged into this. It was a necessary course of action, but all the same, I'm sorry.'

'Yes, you're right. I suppose he would have come back. He wasn't always like this though, once he was a fairly respectable person. But he changed over time, and while I pity him as my old champion, I cannot forgive his transgressions. I will aid you as best I can to defend Morsland.'

You stifle a yawn and nod. 'Alright, thanks. But by Aureus, I swear if this is some sort of convoluted test to see if I'm a worthy champion or not, I'll toss you in a lake.'

'Test?' Galadriel asks confusedly. 'Why would I do that? And you know I could just fly out of the lake, correct?'

'Never mind, forget I said anything.' You tell her, realizing your snark has flown over her head. Rolling over onto your side, you close your eyes again and finally fall asleep.

-----
The rest of the night passes uneventfully. You're woken up to take shift at some point in the night, but nothing of note happens. When everyone has woken up, you tell them about your conversation with Galadriel, and that you should all head straight for Morsland and warn them of the approaching attack.

"But what if they attack another village between here and there?" Roland asks.

"We'll just have to warn any villages we pass that they should leave their villages and hide. I doubt there's anything the seven of us could do to stop them anyways."

Ganelon, Erika, and Roland reluctantly agree. Though the three of them would like to stop the attacks outright, they're not foolish enough to think the seven of them can stand against Andras and an unknown number of demons.

"Then we should be off." Nerillian interjects. "The clouds move fast, so we'll have to take a shortcut. Does anybody have a map?"

"I do." You respond, pulling the map out of your backpack and handing it to him.

"Hm...couple villages here and there, a river there, forest here...Alright, I think I know a way we can get there quickly. Follow me."

-------
True to his word, Nerillian guide you and the rest of the honor guard through the forest and down the river quickly. You make it a point to stop at any villages you pass along the way to warn them of the impending thundercloud as well. Most don't believe you at first, but with some convincing you get them to pack their things and hide until the thundercloud passes. Some head into the woods, while others trek all the way to another village out of harm's way.

Finally, everyone arrives at Morsland's gates. The guards at the wall recognize you and let you in without any trouble. It is currently late at night, many people will be asleep right now. But you suppose that doesn't really matter when a demonic force is quickly approaching. Time is of the essence now, so who will you alert first?

>Find your family. Tell them to get out of Morsland as fast as they can.
>Find Reinhardt. Tell him to alert the other guards of the impending attack.
>Find Captain Gregory. Tell him Andras is coming and he needs to evacuate or fortify the city now.
>Split up. Go find (Specify) and have the honor guard alert everyone else.

The obvious answer is to find Captain Gregory. He's captain of the guard, in charge of Morsland's defense. If anybody needs to be alerted to the incoming demonic assault, it's him.

You arrive at the guard post and step inside, followed by the other six members of the honor guard. Most guards will be asleep by now unless they've got night watch, but you know for a fact Gregory works in his office well into the night, so he should be here.

You pass by the guard watching the front desk and head straight for the captain's office. The guard tries to stop you, telling you the captain is busy right now, but you ignore him. Whatever he's busy with right now, odds are it can wait. You knock on his office door twice, then open the door without waiting for him to answer.

"...And as I've told you MANY TIMES in the past, that thief is still out there, and I want-"

Your entrance interrupts the captain's conversation with a very well dressed man, whom you'd guess from the tail end of their conversation is here to complain. The captain rises from his seat, looking very angry at first until he realizes who you are.

"I made it clear that I am NOT to be- wait a second, Siegfried? The Void are you doing back, and why should I not throw you down the stairs for interrupting me?"

"Yes, I'll have you know I was having a very important conversation with the captain here, so if you'd be so kind as to leave us in peace." The well dressed visitors adds with an irritated huff.

>"Sorry to barge in, but I need to speak with you captain. As in, right now."
>"Sorry sir, but whatever it is can wait. This is more important."
>You, out. Captain, sit down. We need to talk. Now."
>"Oh I'm sorry, in that case I'll just go wait until it's my turn to tell the Captain there's an AUREUS DAMNED INVASION on the way."

"You, out. Captain, sit down. We need to talk. Now."

The well dressed man scoffs. "I don't know who you are, but I'll have you know that I'm not leaving until this matter is-HEY!"

He is cut off by the captain literally picking him up and carrying him under his arm to the door, where he then sets the visitor down and slams the door shut, locking it behind him. You hear angry shouting from the other side, but the captain ignores it and heads back to his seat.

"I'll have you know, in all my years as captain I have never been spoken to by a subordinate in such a way." He says. "Now, I don't think you would speak out of line like that unless it was urgent, so I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt here. What is it that's so urgent you need to speak with me immediately about it, and if this is something stupid, I'm going to throw you out the window and send you back to the Watchtower in a crate."

You gulp. It's been so long since you were last here that you forgot how intimidating the captain could be. The worst part is, you don't doubt for a second he'll do exactly as he says if he's not satisfied with your reason for interrupting him, so you get straight to the point.

-------
'Almost there.' Andras thinks to himself. It wouldn't be long now until they arrived at Morsland, just another hour or so before they arrived. The villages they'd passed had been empty, but it was of no matter. His real goal was Morsland, nothing else mattered. Still, someone had to have warned the villagers that they were coming, perhaps the Crusaders would be there when they arrived.

He certainly hoped so.

One of the demons in the assault force flew up to Andras. "Sir, we should be arriving at Morsland shortly. What are our orders when we get there?"

"Find the champion. Destroy everything you come across as you search. Kill whoever you please, but bring the champion to me. I'll handle him myself."
>>
>>39454159
-----
The captain frowns as you finish your story. He stands up and grabs the large two-handed axe behind his chair.

"If what you're saying is true, then we need to act now. How many of them are there?"

"No idea, sir. Enough to completely destroy a village, at least."

"Then we have two options: Evacuation, or fortification. I can either order the guards to gather the civilians and flee the city, or tell them to lead the civilians to city hall and barricade themselves in. Since you've fought their leader before, I'll listen to your advice. Should we get the civilians to safety, or dig our heels in and fight?"

>Dig your heels in and fight. Just make sure the civilians are kept somewhere safe.

>>Dig your heels in and fight. Just make sure the civilians are kept somewhere safe.

I wish we could evacuate, but as far as we know, we got here just ahead of them.

A horde of civilians fleeing in panic will be killed in mass by the demons. They are flying.

The best bet is to gather up somewhere safe, ideally in some deeper cellars.

We need to get anyone who can fight too. Normal weapons can stop demons if wielded with skill.

Probably somewhere underground. Remember, Andras, and probably many of the demons he's brought, can teleport.

"Running is a bad idea. If they're flying, they'll just swoop in and pick off the civilians while they're panicked. Our best chance is to dig our heels in and fight them. Someone's going to have to stop them, and Morsland is as good a place as any."

The captain nods. "You're right. I don't know who these demons think they are, but if they think they can destroy my city without a fight, I'm more than happy to prove them wrong." The axe in his hands reflects the candle light along it's blade just as he says this, making the already large and intimidating captain seem even more imposing.

"The civilians will need someplace safe to hole up during the fighting. Is there anywhere in the city that we could fortify on short notice?" Ganelon asks.

"The Lord-Governor's keep in the center of town should work. It's big enough to accommodate everyone, and it's already well fortified. I'll order the guard to evacuate the civilians into the keep and barricade themselves in, we'll meet these demons at the keep's gates."

"I believe there is a small group of warriors hailing from my Order still in this city. I am sure they will be more than happy to assist in the coming battle." Ganelon suggests.

"You might want to ask for volunteers as well, captain. We don't know how many demons Andras is bringing with them, so we'll need all the help we can get." Justine adds.

"You're right. We'll do that as well, but first we need to round everybody up. But first-" The captain walks over to the office door and unlocks it. The man from earlier is still outside, looking positively livid.

"How dare you! Do you know just how easily have could have your job-"

He is cut short once again by the captain lifting the man off the floor by his collar. "Henry, I don't give half a rat's ass about your damned thief right now. What I need right now is for you to go back to the keep and tell your brother I'm sending the city's civilians to hole up in the keep. We have an invasion on the way."

"An...invasion? Captain, I don't know what's going on, but I-"

"I didn't ask for your damn opinion Henry, I told you what I need. Now GO!"

With that, the captain unceremoniously throws the disgruntled man down the stairs. He lands with a thud, but picks himself up and dusts his fancy clothes off. Though he looks unhappy, Henry finally sucks it up and leaves through the guard post door. If that man was the Lord-Governor's brother, that would imply he's a noble. The captain might get in trouble for his behavior later, but right now there are more important things at hand.

"I will alert the rest of the guard. You and your companions should help us evacuate everyone to the keep."

You nod. "Yes sir."

"Good. Avery! Front and center! We have an emergency on our hands!"

The captain leaves you and the others behind while he musters the guard. The question now is, where do you go now?

>Find your family. Tell them to get to the keep, now.

"I need to go find my family, but time's short and there's other people we should find as well. We'll need to split up and gather them all. Erika, Joan, you go grab Arniel and tell him we're going to need him. See if he knows where a short human named Damien is, he's an alchemist too. Roland, you go with Ganelon and find the others from his order. Nerillian, Justine, you come with me. We'll meet up at the keep."

The others nod, and you all go your separate ways. You think of finding Reinhardt as well, but Gregory will probably get a hold of him instead since he's on the guard, so you decide to meet up with him at the keep later.

-------
For the first time in over a month, you find yourself standing outside of your family's workshop, "Schmidt's Armory". The lights are out and no smoke is coming from the chimney, meaning they're probably fast asleep right now. You pound on the front door loudly, hoping it wakes them up. Thankfully, you see light coming from one of the windows on the second floor, meaning somebody's woken up.

A moment later, your father opens the door, still in his sleepwear. He rubs his eyes and yawns, before realizing who it is at his front door.

"Siegfried?" He asks, surprised. "What on earth are you doing here, and so late at night?"

Your father raises an eyebrow and scratches his head. "Go? Go where? And who are these two people with you? I don't under-"

"Like I said, I don't have time to explain. Just get everybody up and I'll explain later." You tell him, doing your best to stress the direness of the situation.

Thankfully, he seems to pick up on it, and nods. "Alright son. I don't know what's going on, but I'll wake the others up. Feel free to wait inside."

He opens the door all the way and retreats back into the house. You, Justine, and Nerillian follow, waiting in the kitchen for him and the others to come down. While you wait, you notice that the door to the workshop is open. There are probably weapons in there, but packing them up and carrying them to the keep will probably slow you down.

It might slow you down some, but you're going to need all the weapons you can get, so you enter the workshop and find multiple racks of weapons sitting there.

"Justine, Nerillian, help me out here." You call back to your companions, grabbing an empty barrel and loading it with as many weapons as will fit. Hammers, swords, maces, halberds, you grab it all, and so do the others.

A little while later, you hear you mother, father, and sister come down the stairs. You mother peaks her head into the workshop to find you and the others ransacking the workshop for weapons.

"Siegfried? Is that you? What's going on, what are you doing?"

"I'll explain later mom, but we're going to need these. Can you help us out?"

Your mother seems confused, but obliges, calling for your father and sister to come help as well.

"You're first time back, and the first thing you do is tell us to grab weapons and hurry out?" Your sister, Sarah, comments. "Sounds like something's wrong."

"It is. Which is why need to grab what we can and go."

"Well, this is about all I've got in the workshop." Your father comments, after loading the last of the weapons into another barrel. You know have three barrels loaded with assorted weaponry. They are heavy, but you and the others are able to carry them.

"Good, then let's go. We need to get to the keep as fast as we can now."

"The keep? Just what in the Void's going on, Siegfried?"

"All you need to know right now Sarah is that you're all in danger right now, so we need to get you to safety, quickly."

Your family doesn't inquire any further after that, realizing that something is very wrong. With the last of the weapons loaded, you all exit the workshop and head for the keep. Your father stops to lock the door at first out of habit, but you tell him to leave it and hurry.

The keep, located in the center of town, is a pretty good distance from your family's workshop, which is located closer to the city's walls. Weighed down by the barrels, you manage to make it about three-fourths of the way there before you can hear thunder in the distance.

"Shit!" You curse, turning your head to see the black clouds swiftly approaching. At this rate, they'll get here long before you can get to the keep.

The keep is surrounded by it's own wall and gate, so odds are the first line of defense will be outside the gate, with archers on the wall providing support, and the second line of defense will be inside the gate, in case any demons fly over into the courtyard. IF they have enough people, they'll probably have a last line of defense inside the keep, in case any demons somehow manage to break in.

Supporting staying with the family, while casting haste on everyone.
>>
>>39456307
Are there not enough men to guard to outer walls?
>>
>>39456300
If it's set up like typical walled cities the keep would be built into the wall, typically on a rise or other more defensible feature.
>>
>>39456341
There are, but the problem is that it's a big city, so they'll be spread thin if they try to cover the wall. Plus, the demons can fly right over the wall and past the archers, so they're keeping it tight.

I'm not really an expert in medieval style architecture, so pardon me if I deviate from what actual medieval cities did.

Anyways, counting votes and writing now.
>>

Oh, in that case never mind. And freestanding defensible structures certainly weren't unheard of.

I am pretty sure a keep is attached to the outer wall while the castle might makeup the greatest fortification in the center of a city.

You hand the barrel of weapons you're carrying to your father. "We don't have time, take these and head to the keep." You tell him, as Nerillian and Justine hand their barrels to your mother and sister as well.

"What about you, son?"

"I'll be fine, don't worry. Just get to the keep and stay inside. And here, hold still." You instruct, holding out a hand and muttering the incantation for Haste. Your family's feet begin to glow, signifying that the spell is in effect.

"What's this?" Your father asks, looking down at his glowing feet. "I feel so light all of a sudden. Where did you learn to do that?"

"Never mind that dad, just go! Quickly!"

He nods, and your family starts walking towards the keep at a quickened pace, the spell helping them move faster. Meanwhile you, Justine, and Nerillian stay behind to buy them time.

"The others should be at the keep by now." Justine informs you. "We should hurry back as soon as we're able."

"I agree, but it looks like we're going to be a bit delayed getting there." Nerillian says, pointing out towards the clouds.

By now, the dark thunderclouds have reached the edge of the city. Even from here, you can see demons begin flying out of the clouds, spreading out around the city. Thunder booms overhead and lightning lights up the night sky as the demons descend upon the city, looking for victims which, thankfully, have already been evacuated to the keep. You hope they all were, at least.

Your attention is quickly drawn to two figures in the sky, who seem to notice your presence on the streets. You and Justine get into a stance while Nerillian knocks an arrow, as both of the winged demons begin flying towards you, teeth bared and weapons in hand.

Alright, calling it a night here folks. Gonna stick around for a bit to answer questions if you have them. Next thread will be either Tuesday or Friday, we'll see. Keep an eye on the twitter.

As always, thanks for playing, and I hope you all had fun.

Alright then. In that case, I guess replace "Keep" with "Castle" then. Castle is more along the lines of what I'd visualized anyways. Sorry about that.

>>39456842
Thanks for the run boss.
>>
>>39456842
yaaaay, Siegfried is gonna faint mid-battle!
>>
>>39456842
Thanks for the thread!

>>39456867
Its the healing that really takes it out of you.
>>
>>39456883
and we just cast haste for THREE people
>>
>>39456842
thanks for running
>>
>>39456899
Maybe we got a package deal for doing one incantation for three people. We'll be fine.

>>39456899

its a been a day since we healed the villagers and haste was the first spell we just caste today.
>>

thanks for the thread Sparks!

It is essentially a package deal. Sure, casting Haste to effect three people takes more energy than just one, but doing it in one casting is easier than effecting three people with three castings. Haste is more tiring than Flash, but it's less tiring than Heal, and you've had plenty of time to rest from healing the villagers. You're fine for now.

good to know
>>
>>39457035
Do you have a concrete mana-pool in your head or do you just have a general idea for how much we should be able to do?
>>
>>39456842
Thanks for running Sparks.
>>
>>39457180
Probably just a general idea, its better than number crunching mana points.
>>
>>39457180
Just a general idea.

After this Siegfried will no longer be a temporary wielder of the blade.

I think Galadriel has accepted him for a while, but he will likely have to accept it himself.
>>
>>39457750
Even if he kills Andras here, he'll still have Alastor having an interest in him. Whether he likes it or not he is in this for the long haul.
>>
>>39457861

I think he has a good chance to kill Andras. Missing an arm, mad with rage and possibly irrational.

The fact that the city guard are able to hole up in a defense is going to annoy Andras and his demons. No easy prey. Then the tower force is likely going to slam into them from the rear hard. Probably unexpectedly.

Alastor is a long term antagonist.

Likely once Siegfried fights off this invasion, it is going to be a mix of training and then being shown off in human lands to try and get some backbone to facing off against the demons.

Not calling a new crusade, yet but getting the areas that feel safe to contribute to the defense.

And for Siegfried to not get killed through poison, a shiv in the back or random 'bandits'
