>Summary:
You are techpriest Heracor Nahive. You were forcefully implanted a brain chip that made you into little more than a working drone, after escaping your homeworld you somehow got yourself into the Inquisitorial Cruiser “Speculum Animæ”.

>Main Mission:
- Become stronger and fight the Magus that installed the chip on your brain.
>>Secondary Missions:
- Take care and protect Lanky.
- Restore and clean the frigate in less than three weeks.
- Purge the frigate!!
>>Optional Missions:
- Try to destroy the heretical information stored on your brain.

Important Info:
> Heracor decided that the risk of infecting the main Cruiser was very high so he has programmed a failsafe. In case his heartbeat goes to zero the ship will become unanchored and plunge into the warp. Nobody else but him knows this.
> As far as we know the creatures and plant lifeforms can be killed if burned enough and severing their contact with contaminated areas. If the contact is not cut they might recover from the corruption they are touching and regrow stronger.
> As the antennas were the first infected thing contacting with the other areas when inside the contaminated area is hard and slow.

As soon as the techpriestess looked at the camera you felt a wave of revulsion and vomit inducing sensations that sickened you completely. Several dark stains formed in the cyberspace around you, they quickly mutated into the same cogitator virus blobs that you saw before. It was completely impossible but it seemed that somehow Wilhelmina’s sight was able to infect the machines and databanks. Staying there was too risky; you flew across the information highways and saw many more of those computer tumors exploding and spreading their influence around. This computer system and this net wouldn't have more than one hour before becoming completely corrupted and unusable.

As fast as you could you returned into your physical body and disconnected from the cable, shortly after you looked at the screen and saw it glitching hard until it froze completely leaving the last instant of life of the machine spirit stuck in time in front of us.

All the Skitarii saw it and helped you to recover from the mental stress; soon you were completely back on your keen senses. They all looked at you dumbfound and wondering what happened. On the other side of the blocked corridor a growling and sick sounding scream screeched and soon it became more feminine and high pitched as the seconds passed, whatever happened and controlled Wilhelmina was now out and she once back was the owner of herself, at least for now.
>>
>>39444247

You weren’t able to talk with her again, she ran away stomping loudly and creating heavy vibrations that surely startled the warped insects; from the deformed holes and tunnels of their hive the thick and extremely sugary and sweet gag inducing honey poured like a pus gushing zit. At the end of the corridor your team came from three of those deformed fetus like obese daemons appeared, at first they were attracted by the honey but when they saw and noticed your presence they became totally ecstatic.

You cursed your luck as she ran away and the enemies appeared.

This is a tough decision but I reckon we're best off purging the threats, maintaining an escape route that would be lost if we fled in some way and I don't think the meltabomb is a good idea when we're next to the plasma engine of all things.

Dice, give me strength...

>Using the meltabomb is way too dangerous, use your flamethrowers instead. It will take more time and will require spending a good amount of ammo but it will be way safer.

As you aim your flamer dendrites the rest of the group does the same, as if you gave everybody an order via invisible means. Four of them get on their knees and fire at the lower parts while other four fire standing up, their thermal energy flying over the heads of their friends and companions and raining over the hard shell of the insect nest. On the other side of the corridot another barrier formed by the rest of the Skitarii and a vanguard of Servitors, in case those infant like daemons reached them they would first have to attack the lobotomised servitors and those were incredibly more spendable than the stronger Skitarius.

It was good that those flamers used promethium as fuel since the chemical fire managed to spill and enter into the tunnels that formed their hive and burn them from inside. It seemed that the honey those bugs created was somewhat fireproof as an insect swarm came screeching in pain from a smoke filled entrance and they all descended into the honey on the ground. It was a suicidal maneuver, the bugs were unable to fly and escape once they became trapped in the sticky surface of the honey but it seemed that those bioforms didn't mind it, looking at it closely revealed to me that they accepted their death and soon rotted into a mix of proteins and sugars, adding even more power to the fluid's scent.
>>
Still too early for most people to be on the thread yet, I guess?
>>
>Correction:
+++Nº of Servitors dead so far: 2

>>39444604
You used your dendrites to arch them over the firing squad and add your firepower to theirs, at the same time your turned around and looked at the still running nurglites, they were about ten inches from the first servitor.

The automatized humanoids managed to fire its specially treated fuel and soak the daemon with them, on the creature's skin dozens of painful blisters appeared, the mix of cleaning agents and fire seemed to be two times effective with them.

On your back there was a fire spitting hive structure that was losing integrity and its members by moments, in front of you the three daemons slowly dying.

Even if the simple cogitator brains of the servitors worked perfectly they weren't able to dodge what happened next, the daemon infant trio knowing of their demise decided to join forces and jumped into the closest servitor, it didn't had time to react and soon it was completely covered in a mix of fire and tainted fluids.
>>
>>39444746

The group that was fighting the daemons didn't knew how to react or what to do and the servitor brethren was programmed to avoid attacking other servitors so they became paralyzed as well.

You didn't doubted what to do. Aiming your plasma rifle you charged the shoot and aimed towards its head. If those creatures were the ones that infected Wilhelmina and turned her into what she was now who knew what kind of horrific effect would they have on a feeble minded servitor that was equipped with weapon bionics. It had to die.

After releasing the trigger a lime green sphere of plasma formed on the cannon and flew towards the servitor. It illuminated its path as it flew and crossed the corridor, even if it didn't lasted more than a few seconds you felt it as if it were in slow motion. The green and acidic plasma impacted its chest and started punching thru its thorax and bionics until it melted its heart in a really painful yet quick way.

You looked back and saw the hive breaking apart leaving free way.

>Tell the team to run to the other side. You still might be able to catch her.

Who's idea was it to have the Servitors use the soap-infused Promethean instead of us Skitarii? For fuck sake, we're fighting NURGLE.
>>
>>39444813
>Stay fighting for a little longer, become sure that both the servitor, the nurglites and the wasps are dead.

If there is something that the techpriests are proud of is their focusing. There are several techniques, schools and bionics that deal only with focusing. No matters if the task you have to focus in is work or fighting all you have to do is continue with your job and not deviate, the Omnissiah doesn't accepts adepts that cannot concentrate on anything and end leaving everything half done.

"One finished work is incredibly more valuable than thousands of unfinished ones."

You repeat to yourself. Some of them hear you and with a nod repeat the motto and turn it into a mantra, a repeating phrase that becomes a cacophony and ends muffling the sound of the dying insects and chemical burning. In about ten minutes all the enemies are dead. One Skitarius takes the lead and immediately reverts the wind flow to suck all the toxic smoke and diseases from the air and also extinguish the fires. With a small thankful bow you look back at the team. They are safe and seem to now be extremely wounded, some have some blisters and burns from the close distance and the high temperatures that formed and a few little have been affected with the insects sting bites.
>>
>>39445143
>affected with the insects sting bites.
This troubles me deeply.
>>
>>39445143

Your first order is to remove their hoods and show their necks, there is the risk of another hive queen infecting and possessing one of them and you didn't wanted to risk having another carrier that could explode into countless bugs at any time. Apparently there wasn't any infected but until from the ashes a fat and bloated winged bug didn't appeared you weren't unable to completely confirm it.

With a hard stomp you killed the insect, feeling more relaxed and satisfied once knowing that the risk of it infecting any of your men was gone with it.

>Stay and treat the wounds. Also walk back and restore some of the spent ammo.

>Who's idea was it to have the Servitors use the soap-infused Promethean instead of us Skitarii? For fuck sake, we're fighting NURGLE.

It was the idea of a NPC, Eugen being more concrete. She and the MC don't know anything about Nurgle and they created and gave the soap fuel to the servitors so they didn't ended burning thru the walls or floors by accident. The soapfuel sticks to the surfaces and don't damages the integrity.
>>
>>39445204
>Stay and treat the wounds. Also walk back and restore some of the spent ammo.

Seconding, when dealing with Nurgle there is no such thing as too careful. Hell when dealing with Chaos in general there's no such thing as too careful.
>>
>>39445204
>Stay and treat the wounds. Also walk back and restore some of the spent ammo.
>Split the party to send half back to gather the fuel whilst you stay and treat the wounded
(Obviously only send healthy back)

This is to stop anything getting past where we are currently at and also to save time.
>>
>>39445377
Well, Tzeentchians can be tricky (as is their nature). You rush too fast and you'll most likely fall into a trap. But take to long being careful and they'll change and adapt to you, or lay better traps after observing you.

Luckily, Nurglites don't replace old stuff even on the rare occasions they bring new stuff.
>>
>>39445426
That's a good idea. Seconding, but they still have to be careful.
>>
>>39445204
>Stay and treat the wounds. Also walk back and restore some of the spent ammo.

You divided the group in two teams; one mostly formed by servitors and the most healthy warriors and the other by medics and the wounded. The first group walked back to the warehouse and would return with fuel canisters as soon as they could. You stood in the second one, not because you weren't strong or wounded but because your mere presence seemed to help the ones that were most scared of damaged.

The burn wounds had to be treated in lavatoriums but an effort as simple as that became nigh impossible. The first one was turned into a complete hive, in each stall a giant column hive formed oozing honey an other, probably human, fluids and wastes. We decided to seal that door using a torch and hope that it resists. The conjoining bathroom was relatively clean but as soon as we opened the faucet a brown water filled with insect eggs and other larvae poured from it, we closed it as soon as we could and sealed it too.

We required about fifteen minutes to find a clean water source to treat the wounds. It came from a tool cleaning station but it would work as good as a sink.

The insect bites required the inverse than the fire burns, the bites didn't required cold but heat. By applying a torch or any other thermal source blisters formed and the venom ascended, each blister formed in the affected areas had to be pierced or cut so the venom the were filled with exited the body for once. At the end we spent almost an entire hour treating the original burnt wounds and the ones that appeared after treating the bites.

Also, has everyone forgotten that activating the Gellar Field is a win condition? If we activate that, everything will be so much easier... it won't be an instant win, but Nurgle can't win anymore unless it's turned off...

Also, we should probably think ahead on what to do with Velma Wilhelmina.

>Head towards the Plasma Engine

We have to assure the energy flow. Without energy we could never feed the geller field and completely clean this supernatural pandemic.

Your team headed with you on the lead towards the great room. There was no enemy in there but as you got closer and closer you started to see the path of destruction that the suicidal Skitarius did in its martyrdom.

There were burnt hives and more of those infant and vomit filled babies still burning as you walked by. It was incredible how a single person managed to make such a great damage to the infection but it seemed that he didn't consider himself an alive person anymore and that knowing what his future was he managed to destroy way more than any person with self preservation would.

You were sad that he had to die, looking at the path of fiery destruction that he managed to create that Skitarius would have a brilliant future as a warrior of the Deus Machina but now he was dead...there was nothing you could make about it, and thus thinking about the future of a deceased person was nothing but a waste of time. With him out of your thoughts you were able to advance faster and soon your team was in front of the Generatoriums room.
>>
>>39446213

It was formed by two heavy framed doors that would prevent the entrance of any saboteur or evil doer. You tried to open them but they were completely broken. After it a hidden projector located in the wall behind revealed a message on the door.

"It is something tangible, but intangible."
"It lets us do marvelous machines, but breaks their nerves."
"They can be wings, they can be anchors."
"If you don't understand their nature nor function leave this place."

>Try to solve the riddle
After reading it and meditating for some minutes the answer struck your enhanced mind.

>"It is something tangible, but intangible."
Magneticism is intangible but their effects aren't ethereal.
>"It lets us do marvelous machines, but breaks their nerves."
Many machines work and make heavy use of magnets, including oneself. Their effect might render unusable circuits and other unprotected components if not handled carefully enough thought.
>"They can be wings, they can be anchors."
My feet are the prime example of this, they might elevate me, they might lock me on the ground.
>"If you don't understand their nature nor function leave this place."
"As they are something vital for the work of this Generatorium."

Most energy generators work by transforming the kinetic energy into electrical one by spinning a magnet that then creates an electromagnetic field from were the electricity can be harvest and collected.

You introduce the answer feeling nervous but confident. After pressing the aptly named "Enter" key the doors opened, by simply irony or just as an inside joke by the techpriests that built the doors it seemed that the mechanisms worked by heavy use of magnets.

When they were open its light blinded all the team and its heat made them all sweat. The Plasma generator seemed to be working at full potency and to be struggling to maintain itself cooled even with the many LN deposits next to it...there was something wrong. There was enough coolant and the generator was only powering one third of the ship. There was something very wrong making it struggle.

After adjusting your lenses for the bright light and ordering the rest to do the same or to cover their face with their arm you and your team entered into the room. With every step the temperature and the lux increased until it became pretty much unbearable.

"I'll look at the generatorium, the rest of the team go and search for rot sources, use the flamers carefully to destroy them."

As a leader you had to make sacrifices, getting closer to the source of heat and light you try to look at the different machines and cogitators and learn that the central one (1) is the one that controls the main functions of the Generator. On its screen it shows various alarm signs and it is about to start an alarm in all the ship.

>Send some servitors to study it closer and see if they discover something.
>Assist the team in eliminating the threats

You send four servitors, two teams composed of two members to surround the generator completely and return back, if they find something unusual they have the directive of attacking it. Even if they didn't made any noise they attack modes would appear on your HUD as small blinking alarms.

With this done you grabbed your flamer and headed towards the closes team. They were all surrounding a vent in a wall from where thousands of cockroach like bugs swarmed, their flamers were focusing fire on the hole but somehow the creatures were resilient or numerous enough to continue appearing even with the rain of fire that was being sprayed. The strangest of all was that the insects were running to their deaths instead of trying to avoid it like any animal would do.

You didn't knew what was more worrying, the idea of those animals being so warped that they have lost even their most common sense or the even stranger idea of them knowing what they do and their blitzkrieg like rush being a tactic to waste our fuel and winning us in a attrition battle.

Tired of seeing how it didn't work you ordered them to connect their fuel deposits with yours and then them all with your chainsword and dendrites. You blocked the holes and pushed the fire spiting sword and tentacles onto it.

For more than then minutes you created a fire and saw wall that they were unable to break, the insects that didn't died with the heat or the fire encountered your blade and the ones the somehow survived all the hazards found their salvation blocked by your bulky and thermally protected body.

You were sweating hard and you even became worried of your armor and robes not being able to take the fiery punishment. It was then when you stopped feeling their chitinous bodies crawling and their tiny mouths screaming in agony, they were all dead.
>>
>>39448026
We're not a Slaaneshi or rogue trader. Besides she already ahs a kid.
>>
>>39448059
Standing up you noticed that your arms and dendrites were covered in both blackened ass and insect blood. After moving away you walked away two steps and almost fell down, you felt dehydrated and if it weren’t for a helpful companion you would have fallen unconscious. The unknown warrior poured fresh water from a canteen; you were unable to see him or her but became incredibly thankful for it.

Breathing heavily you rested on the floor, you had inhaled a lot of smoke and your new lungs needed time to break it all into something nontoxic for you. As you lied on the warm metallic surface you looked around and saw the rest of the teams doing an excellent work and cleaning the small infections, it seemed that you had inspired them enough to fight fiercely for their own, something that Anabelle, the old leader, was never able to inspire.

Just as soon as you start recovering your breath it happened, the dreaded blink, you looked into the Engine’s direction and saw a jet of oil and blood spilling and leaving a huge stain on the floor, something attacked the servitors.

>Rest completely while you send everybody against the unknown menace.

You stand up still somewhat weakened and by radio order everybody to try to see what's wrong with the generator and to travel to its backside.

They all run immediately and soon the sound of screams and chemical fire fills the room. You are their leader Emperordammit, you cannot wait here while they all fight for you. As if you were possessed by the holy might of the Omnissiah your artificial lungs fill to their full capacity and turn all the toxins into one concentrated and easily to eliminate tar. You open the two plugs located under your ribs and feel the black liquid forming a small stream that soon left your body cleaning you completely. Covering yourself once again you ran towards the source of battle.

Behind of the engine there were two giant manholes and a even bigger hive. Apparently the hive parasitically feed from both the heat and the waste manholes. It had both the temperature and nutrients to grow and as nobody noticed it until now it grew uncontrollably.

Around it were some infected servitors from the first expedition with Eugen. They were half buried in the walls of the beehive. Their bodies became both breeding and eating zones.

One of the servitors had its chest ripped in two but was somehow alive, focusing your lenses on him you saw that both its heart and its lungs breathed erratically, you were wrong, not long after looking in its direction you saw with horror how that wasn't breathing but just another breeding joint and how after some seconds the servitor's organs exploded revealing a new cloud of insects to fight.

- Heracor finds an AI, maybe even a legendary Man of Iron?

- Necrons, though you probably have that planned already. Maybe, instead of Necrons themselves, there's a cult of people worshiping Necrons? That would attract the attention of an Ordo Hereticus Inquisitor, right?

- Heracor discovers a long lost piece of technology known as the internet...

>One team focuses on destroying the bodies, the other on fighting the swarm and destroying the queens. We assist whoever needs it most.

In front of your eyes you saw how a cloud of daemon drones swarmed a poor Skitarius and slid into the joints of his armor to bite and sting every inch of its still organic body, the insects seemed to be more intelligent that what I thought as they focused the bites on some particular parts of its body to push him unconsciously. Some others tried to help but but they became paralyzed as they heard the screams of agony of his suffering friend and the fear invaded their bodies.

The poor lad was pushed by the bites against the walls of the hive, from its holes a stream of thick honey fell down trapping him completely with the stickiness of it. The backside was completely trapped, the front side was not, this was done deliberately as soon with the last drops of honey came about five queens that forcefully entered into his body by their mouth or forcefully digging a tunnel eating his eyeballs.

With the prisoner infected he soon died from bloodloss, it was a painful and slow death but it was a blessing, as if he experienced what came next would have been an experience worse than death. The Skitarius skin started to became paler and to convulsion. It was obvious that the queens were starting to eat his insides and blood and to secrete thousands of eggs as they dig deeper into his flesh. You wouldn't let them to do what they did with the poor 419N||990. Aiming your plasma rifle once again you shoot aiming fired at will.
>>
>>39448948
Can we be certain that it would be safe?
If I'm not mistaken, then the hive is backed up against the generator, and if a shot goes stray, or the corrosive effect goes too far we can say goodbye to all our hopes and dreams.
>>
>>39449029

Well, that doesn't matter right now. Due to >>39449022 we don't have to worry about it being against the Generator, since the idea was to kill the Queens quickly... unless there's still more Queens in there.
>>
>>39449022
damn lost another one.

>>39449071
I hope there's only five but Heracor is notoriously unlucky.
>>
>>39449022
The trapped Skitarius started to melt under your shots, its bionics became slag that sank onto the most soft parts of his already weakened body and in less than a second it became a mound of pink, red and rusted grey. Incredibly from its interior there were still some screeching and scratching sounds, there were some that managed to survive but you seemed to have been able to stoop the hatching.

"Two teams; one destroys the bodies the other focuses fire on the swarm and the infector queens!"

You looked at your internal clock, about twenty minutes had passed since you checked the engine. It said that its temperature was about 215ºC and that it increased 2ºC every five minutes...It would be close to 220ºC now and if it reached 270 it would reach a critical status.

Critical statuses weren't a dooming event, you heard that they are pretty common on starships, specially when they are battling an enemy. If this happens the Generator just needs to release its radioactive steam and stay off for about five minutes while it cools down.

According to your calculations you still had twenty five minutes until that happened.

When you came back from your mental palace and doing calculations and looking at possibilities you saw that the two teams were already done and working. The servitors were mostly focused on destroying the hive and the bodies as they had trouble to difference between the two and programming them to aid the queens would have taken too long.

You were faithful, unless something bad happened you would be able to destroy the hive and secure the place before the critical temperature came.

"Omnissiah preserve us. Honorum Bellator Machina"

You say to yourself as the fight develops a surrounds you. No matter where you look you see friend and foes fighting. You aim your weapon and pray for good and well aligned shoots. You try to save your precious hydrogen ammo to cause as much damage as you can to the structure of the hive and to finish off the infected people.

It is a long fight that seems to never end, as your team destroys another wall of the hive most of the times they also release a deposit of honey that ends trapping most of the insects but also extinguish all the fires.

In one occasion during one of those honey releases a female Skitarius didn't had time to run and became completely encased in honey. Neither you nor any other had time to finish her off and all your team could do was see her slowly drowning, as she was dying she opened her mouth as a natural reaction and when doing so she ended tasting some of the honey, I don't know what she felt but she puked so much that her asphyxia accelerated to the point of killing her in mere seconds...when it was over all that was visible was her trapped body under the ambar transparent liquid and some crystallized yellow bubbles around her mouth that were filled with vomit and blood.

.
>>
>>39449725

After about ten minutes of complete and nonstop burning, slashing and stomping the hive collapsed from structural weakness and killed most of its creatures.

Maybe its surface and bugs weren't gonna be leeching of the Engine now but there were still dozens of human bodies and millions of insects ones and a lot of debris adding temperature to the engine.

Cleaning the bodies and the collapsed parts was easy but how would you remove the honey? It was so sticky that grabbing it was impossible and its scent was completely sickening. You would have to think about it later.

>Help them to clean the rest and recover the deceased bodies, count how many Skitarii and Servitors have fallen.

For now at least. When we confirm the Engine is running smoothly, then we clean up the bodies too.
>>
>>39449805
We need to recover skitarii bodies if for no other reason than for crew morale.
>>
>>39449796
We still don't know, we have to check the terminal to get sure of it.
>>
>>39449751
>Help them to clean the rest and recover the deceased bodies, count how many Skitarii and Servitors have fallen.

We can freeze the honey with LN , that takes away both the smell and the viscosity.
>>
>>39449751
Would dumping bleach into the engine potentially cause damage to it? I'd imagine bleach would do a good job clearing the honey, and would be quite toxic for biological life in general
>>
>>39449867
>>39449891
Good ideas.
>>
>>39449891
It's plasma. I don't think that plasma and bleach make a good mix. Is there anyone that likes chemistry that could tell us what would happen if the two were mixed?

In my opinion the plasma would burn the bleach and release a lot of toxic fumes, but idk certainly.
>>
>>39449921

Just go with the LC cooling/freezing it.
>>
>>39449921
Bleach is already quite volitile, getting into the air and becoming a respiratory irritant (if inhaled in low quantities it'll make you dizzy, high quantities of it can cause asphyxiation and severe mucus membrane degradation (bleach is one of the two component reagents you need to make mustard gas).
>>
>>39449921
We have rebreathers and bionic lungs. It's fine.
I'm assuming the rebreathers were prioritized to the skitarii that didn't have bionic lungs that is.
>>
>>39449921
I think you'd just get chlorine gas, maybe chlorine plasma.
>>
>>39449921
Depends on the containment, The plasma could just eat the bleach.
>>
>>39449921
The most common bleach is sodium hypochlorite, which won't burn but would definitely redox with superheated H+. Probably a bunch of superheated toxic steam.
>>
So we tell everyone to generally clean up bodies, debris, and such while we check the terminal real quick and then help them, right? Probably use LN on the honey too it seems.
>>
>>39449725
>Order them to ignore the bodies and to clean the debris, go to the terminal on the other side and check the status of the engine.
>(After that) Help them to clean the rest and recover the deceased bodies, count how many Skitarii and Servitors have fallen.
>Try to freeze the honey with the Liquid Nitrogen.

"Is...is everybody allright?"

You ask. Most people is covered in ash, honey or blood of both human and warped varieties. You look at yourself and notice that you aren't different, dry crimson and yellowish clots cover both your legs and your attire. Your flamers are almost empty and you only about about sixty shoots with the plasma rifle...your team is tired and wounded but happy to be alive, they might groan about making another travel towards the warehouse to refuel but they won't dare to disobey you, not after the battle.

"Focus on cleaning this cursed and thankfully destroyed hive from the Engine, its surface is heating its coils way too much."

One of them kind of raised her arm, surely to ask about the bodies but another next to her stopped her and softly shook his head, you gave her the best sympathetic look that your almost expressionless face could muster. You walked back and went towards the same terminal that you checked before.

You try to unlock the other three deposits but there is no luck, just like the cockroaches threw themselves at the fire it seems that those pipes are blocked by thousands of insects that using their deaths clogged the system.

As you override all the security protocols to forcefully push the liquid nitrogen an alarm sounds and startles all the workers who were focused on cleaning the rest of the fight.

"Everybody out!. Run towards the Cathedral and stay there! Save your lives!"

They all did but a couple who were in the backside didn't make it, the pipe exploded over their heads, one died from the bolts and other shrapnel that flew towards her and the other froze to death when the nitrogen poured over them. You looked over and saw the girl bleeding fast with metallic pieces nailed on her neck; desperately pulling from the frozen arm of his partner, at the end she pulled so hard that she ripped off his arm, during her last seconds of life she looked at the ripped limb and then died with the thought of being a murdered and killing her best friend in mind.

When she fell down you focused on the still pouring LN. It started to create a white icy puddle that increased in size as the time went it but all that chemical was being wasted, in that place it wouldn't be able to refrigerate the increasingly heating machine.

As soon as everybody was out you understood what your fate was. This might be your time to die, your vengeance might never take place but at least you die as an honorable techpriest and keeping a machine safe.

>>39451160
Even better: remember that failsafe? The whole group is fucked if we bite it here. Emperor save the stupid.
>>
>>39451160
They would've died before even getting to the controls.
>>
Honestly after those 3 bad rolls we were fucked no matter what happened.
>>
>>39451207

Welp, we served the Imperium. We died for the Void Dra- I mean the Omnissiah. Oh and the Emperor too I guess.

W-what? We can still be the Scientist Supreme of the 40k universe. I believe!
>>

You entered into the system and grabbed a deceased Servitor tag to identify yourself as one, otherwise the programming wouldn't have let you die doing this.

From the floor a panel opened and a switch appeared, it was highly ornate and filled with litanies of heroism and other legends. It looked like a cruel joke for you and all those details were nigh invisible for the servitors but they helped the slaves into doing it, as they made them believe that they would become part of the legends.

This mission wouldn't become into a legend but a stain in the chronology of the Imperium and the Mechanicus. The Skitarii cult of the Cruiser would lost a frigate on the warp fighting vermin...shameful. As long as you pushed this switch the steam would kill you and with it the entire frigate. Maybe if your death was quick enough the failsafe would...ironically fail.

You felt remorseful, you were hoping for a sacred human machine to fail, not only that, a machine that you programmed, you were hoping for a machine to disobey you. If any in the cult knew of this you would be summarily executed.

"No." Said a voice from behind the engine. You got on combat stance and grabbed the sword with one hand and the switch with the other, from the shadows Wilhelmina appeared.

"I have been hiding in the o-o-OTHER drain and feeding from the honey!" She still seemed to have some control but from time to time she had spasm and also kind of growled.

"P-please let me release the steam and sacrifice myself! I waANT TO DIE!!"

>Let her do it.

It seems that the light of the Emperor has shined over both of you, she might be infected and corrupted but will die as a loyalist and a true hero from what the Omnissiah truly represents. You are incredibly disgusted by her presence but feel a warm light coming from her, it you weren't a tech adept you would believe that that sweet warm comes from her pure soul.

"There will be a shrine for you, and all who fell here. May the Omnissiah know well of you."

You slowly walked away and saw a small and childlike face forming on her back, it was completely enraged and had his still forming eyes fixed on you.

"NOOOOOOOONGAGHR! THIS IS NOT THE END BUT THE BEGGINING, KANKRINIUS THE GARDENER OR NURGLE WILL ARRISE!"

You decided to scream to muffle the daemon's voice, it was that or shooting it down but by doing so the chance of killing her was incredibly high.

"Wilhelmina, It is not who you are when everyone watches, It's who are when you're alone that defines you. I am proud to have served with you. Ave Omnissiah"

You didn't knew what to do or how to act, paralyzed in fear all you managed to do was shriek in fear as you heard the hissing of the vents releasing all the pressure and how her skin became shredded and her bones heavily irradiated. Looking at the door you noticed that they were formed by lead, after the release started the same projector as before showed a message, this time it was not a riddle thought but an advisory message about not entering, a giant radiation symbol flashing every few seconds to inspire fear on the bystanders.

Her feminine scream soon turned into a masculine and sick one, Wilhelmina was dead, the daemon Kankrinius was now occupying her body and all it could do was suffering an agony before being killed. You didn't knew much about daemons or possessed people but you were pretty sure that they couldn't control bodies whose flesh was ripped from their bones.

I'll end it for today, as always 30 minutes of questions, archive descriptions, critics and suggestions.

I have a question for you all.
>Should we rp how they clean the ship and the last weeks until they reach the system or just do a timeskip?
>>
>>39451911
Eh, I'd at least like a brief of it, and how much shit we got in.
>>
>>39451872
And now we know the name of another Chaos god. And totally made a chump out of that daemon.

Skitarii casualties is at 5 I think, though. That's regrettable.
>>
>>39451911
We could skip the ship cleaning, but I would include our new leadership of the skitarii and the upgrades that entails.
>>
>>39451911
Thanks for running!

I'd rather us time skip barring a few things like talking to the inquisitor about what happened. Unless something important happens Heracor could use the skip to accilimate to his new surroundings, talk to his friends/people of import, and get the SKiitari into something approaching proper order. (whether we stay in charge of them or not is an entirely different matter.)

Will the ship temple yield any goodies? What will the inquisitor's reaction be? Can HEracor take a few day R&R?
>>
>>39451911
I'd rather It be quick, and we focus more on studying, designing, restructuring the skitarii temple, and such as a breather before the destination.
>>
>>39451911
Yeah, I'd kinda like to play this victory phase through. Timeskipping here and there is fine if you can't be bothered to write essentially trivial bits.

Would like to play taking over the skitarii, getting everyone fed and upgraded, etc

More opportunities to talk with the inqusitor and everyone. Maybe mention that spine, etc

Thanks for running
>>
>>39451911
Yeah, I would feel it's necessary. We'll have a time cleaning and sanctifying the ship, talking about our losses, and interacting with the Inquisitor and the rest of the crew about the action. It's pretty important after something traumatic like this that people keep the proper mindset and there could be some drama from this.
>>
>>39451911

A mix of both? Don't go into details ,just let us generally decide what to do. i.e. We decide that Heracor spends all his free time for the rest of the trip practicing with his weapons, then you give us a general overview of what happened.

If something important happens, like the Inquisitor questions him then go back to the regular style for that.
>>
>>39452003
7 human casualties in exchange for an entire nurgle infestation. I'd say thats pretty good seeing as the usual toll can be in the hundreds.
>>
>>39451872
let's timeskip
>>
>>39452003

Only 5? Hot DAMN we did good.

This is 40k, if this was canon that entire ship would've died... or at least everybody in the little ship would've.
>>
Alright, they had about 27 days to repair and clean the ship If I'm not wrong. I'll timeskip 15 days were the Skitarii recover from their wounds and the regular techpriests clean and repair. The remaining 12 days will be able to be spend into:

>Socialization
>Research of various kinds
>Training
>Managing the Skitarii temple
>Etc...
>>
>>39452197
Sounds good.
>>
>>39452197
Alright, cool.
>>
>>39452197
>>Managing the Skitarii temple
We've got a lot of shit to reform.
>>
>>39452148
I sometimes think that I make it way too easy. Honestly I had lots of nasty stuff that I never ended implementing.
>>
>>39452197
neat. also loved how wilhelmina was a hero at the end.
also that Wilhelm scream
>>
>>39452257
Well, it helps that were using knowledge and equipment we shouldn't have and repeatedly breaking chain of command in the name of efficiency because we are heretical as hell.

Also you've made this plenty grimdark. We did lose something like 20-40 servitors right?
>>
>>39452257

Yeah, it's difficult.

On one hand you want it to be hard and challenging...

On the other, if the PC dies then that's it. Game over man, game over!

You've gotta find a balance and I think you did fairly well. We made mistakes and as a result people died. We got bad rolls and stuff started to fuck up.

The thing where we stayed behind was pretty tense... though once Wilhelmina appeared it was pretty obvious we weren't going to die unless we acted like the dumbest fucks in existence.

I think you should have just given us some more rolls and if we failed them, we survived but ended up being, well, crippled. We would have lost some good tech. Maybe even gained some Nurgle corruption.

That's how I would have done it, but you did good,
>>
>>39452197
>Socialization
Please notice me Inquisitor sempai! I also wanna spend more time with Mellizune, teach her some manners by being the one person she can't do shit to
>Managing the Skitarii temple
>>
>>39452257
QM is like playing as a DM sometimes the players out play you, and sometimes you throw them a bone.

Honestly the only thing you could have done to make it harder is to make us follow through on the steam bath or make that nurgle daemon take control before she finished.
>>
>>39452370

It's too bad we can't simply beat the child...
>>
>>39452421
Well we can show her our mask which will scare the crap outta her right?
Unless her warpvision doesnt see it
>>
>>39452294
>We did lose something like 20-40 servitors right?
Well, between the ones that went with Eugen and the second ones I would say about twenty yeah.

>>39452365
>>39452403
Well I had planned that the team would reach the engine and see a corrupted Wilhelmina bathing herself in steam and becoming a megadaemon of Nurgle but I tough that it would have been to overkill and similar to the first boss, the Butcher.

Anyway here's some stuff I didn't added
>What was in the goddamn pipes that you guys always ignored:
Yellow: Plastic cables.

Lead: Radioactive Steam

White: Shit Pipes

Red: Promethium

Blue: Neurotoxin
>>
>>39452446
It probably doesn't.

>>39452421
Not our kid, we'd get blammed for it. As it is The inquisitor is going to be pissed when she figures out what crippled her kid.

>>39452466
>a megadaemon of Nurgle
That'd be a Great Unclean One Aka we're fucked. GUO's can have a ship dropped on them and laugh it off. they can eat entire SM companies.
>>
>>39452466
>Neurotoxin
>Warp Corrupted Shit
>Boiling Irradiated Steam

Thank the Emprah we avoided those pipes.
>>
>That'd be a Great Unclean One Aka we're fucked.

Not a GUO but something powerful yes. Wilhelmina was a military designer, I even had her planned falling completely at one point and accepting her new body, creating and weaponizing the insects as she desired and pretty much being pretty adaptive to the MC's attacks.
>>
>>39452558
At that point we'd be pretty hosed, we nearly wiped as it was.
>>
>>39452558
It could've been a decent fight, 1 on 1 while the others fight off a horde or something. Kinda like fighting a darker version of ourself.
>>
>>39452636
Things is she'd be able to wipe us pretty easily, all it takes is one small bug so sneak onto us while we're distracted.
>>
>>39452558
We'd have likely kicked a melta-bomb at it, honestly.
>>
>>39452680
Multiple melta bombs at it.
>>
>>39452661
She wouldn't want to though. She'd want to fight emotionally and more or less fairly so she could Ascend. Chaos Gods aren't too impressed with a cheap option.
>>
Going to sleep now. As a small sneak-peek I'm gonna say that the next major fight will have guard vs a xenos race. The penal guards that we rescued will appear and we might interact with them more.
>>
>>39452726
Corrupt all the skiitari, use them and her bugs to take out an inquisitor and sm in a much alrger ship.(either of which are far more important than us atm)

We're still canon fodder anon, elite cannon fodder mind you, but still.
>>
>>39452730
>Getting to see Oihan again
I'm already pumped. hopefully the Inquisitor doesn't get her killed.
>>
>>39452785
The penal guards, anon. Oihan is somewhere else fighting Tau and Eldar.
>>
>>39452767
Alright, I concede. Still, it had the potential to be a cool fight.
>>
>>39452730
I was planning to ask if we could have our Skitarii start training reguarly with the penal guards.

We also need to recruit new Skitarii to our temple for the ones we lost. Can we recruit from the penal guard?
>>
>>39452785
I'm sorry but I said IG...not Oihan. The Universe is a massive yet small place, meeting her again is not impossible but it won't happen this time. It will be the penals + another regiment.
>>
>>39452785
He meant the "citizens" we saved and convinced her to make into shock troops. Oihan isn't going to be here unless her regiment get's called in cause things went Fubar.

>>39452823
It does but given the resources we'd either kill her quick or lose, cause nurgle heavies would grind infantry into dust with ease.
>>
>>39452838
>I was planning to ask if we could have our Skitarii start training reguarly with the penal guards.
The penals are legally under the Inquisitor's control. You would have to ask her.

>We also need to recruit new Skitarii to our temple for the ones we lost. Can we recruit from the penal guard?
Some of them were so wounded that the Skitarius that rescued them grafted them some bionics, they are also memory-wiped so they have plenty of free space to fill with AdMech stuff. I might make something like a roll a 1d50 to see how many of them become interested into joining the Skitarii and then more dice rolls to see how many pass the trials.
>>
>>39452911
Cool, thanks for the info OP
>>
Is a memory-wipe permanent or can it be reversed?

Not that I'd want to do that with a mind reader on board but I'm curiour about it.
