Laura just stares at you while pouting. She knows she can't disagree but Laura is the stubborn sort. She just continues to stand there holding onto your arm.

“Laura.” you let out.

“I know.” Laura replies sharply,” I know it's standard procedure to keep outside personnel away from classified equipment.”

Laura finally lets go of your arm and begins to walk away, angry but defeated.

At the door, Laura turns around and points at you, “When you are done here, you will go straight to my room. That way we won't be separate for long.”

She then closes the door with a solid thud. Walken sighs at the display.

“You really knows how to pick them.” Walken comments with a touch of fatigue in his voice.

“Now, let us begin.” Ms Foss tells you as she motions towards your prepared IS bay.

You follow and get into place. You deploy the Maeve and allow the techs to lock it into place. You hop out and so the support crew can start their work without any distractions. Ms Foss works at a console going over the data you've collected.

“Hmm, nothing interesting. Just the usual data from your school practice and after school practice with your classmates.” Ms Foss comments with a bored tone.

“Are you thinking of changing out any of your bus slots?” Walken asks as he stands next to you.

“Let me see.” you reply as you look over a console with your current equipment and what you have available.

[]All Direction Multipurpose missile Blister pack- A missile blister pack that utilizes micromissiles for target saturation. Range is limited but the amount of missiles in the magazine and available to fire make up for this.

[]Grunder “Hyperthene” Multipurpose burst missile launcher- From Grunder Industries, the Hyperthene missiles is a area denial burst missiles that was originally equipped on the Maeve. After your use of the Zoisite ATL rifle, they have made it available for your use. It may be a slower than your average missile but makes it up for a lasting area of effect

“Let's go with this.” you say out loud as you select your choices.

“Interesting that you decide to change out the Zoisite rifle. Grunder Industries have been quite happy at how well you have used it. And instead go for the recoil-less rifle and missile blister pack” Walken comments.

“The Zoisite is a solid choice. Unfortunately it tends to overlap with Gram. And the Caladbolg is a bit too large to use easily. It's nice and heavy, so first strikes are good. It's just after the first strike it gets unwieldy to use effectively in a sword fight.” you explain.

“That explains why you are switching out the claymore for the longsword, but that does not explain the other two.” Walken continues to inquire.

“I figure with the missile blister pack would be perfect for skirmish ranges and getting out of melee range. With 20 micromissiles per barrage, I can use it to distract and overwhelm the target. They either have to go after me while tanking all the missiles or target the missiles letting me get away.” you answer.

“And with the programmable air-bursting shells, Reinforce can easily program them for accurate detonation.” Ms Foss adds without looking up from her console.

“That is the idea. Reinforce and I were brainstorming some ideas and the idea programmable shells came up. Since she can easily do predictive gunnery, I can focus on the tactical aspect of choosing the right type of ammo and when to fire the rounds.” you add to her reasoning.

“If I remember correctly, it was found that HESH rounds were found to be more effective against IS shields compared to continuous rod warheads.” Walken muses.

“Ah, that report. It has to do with how the shield reacts with the warhead. The continuous rod just snaps and breaks when it hits the shield. Meanwhile, the HESH shell deforms and covers a larger area of the shield before detonating. As a result, the larger effected area forces the shield to draw more power to prevent energy from leaking.” Ms Foss explains.

Interesting. This sounds like the sort of report you would like to read. More information on how weapons interact with an IS would be a boon in combat. Almost makes you wonder why such findings haven't been taught yet. Is it for an upper division class or is this sort of information skirting the Alaska Treaty too much?

Without saying a word, you get up from your seat and try and open the door. The knob doesn't budge until you remember that Walken locked it. You unlock it and go out of the room without a word.

Now out in the hangar, you can only think of one thing. How are you going to stop World War 3. Sure, there is a possibility of WW3 not starting when you chose someone. There is also the other possibility of WW3 starting irregardless. The two immediate choices are to stay celibate for the rest of your life or do what America does best. Conquer everyone and spread freedom to all. Celibacy is definitely not a choice you want. The other option would require a plan of attack. Maybe a full on shock and awe campaign would work. An encirclement and containment strategy would work if you can isolate each girl. There is the possibly of a straight up blitz and annexation of 'land' would diffuse any complaints. Soon enough, the maintenance is done. You undeploy the Maeve back into its inactive wristband form. With work all done, you thanks the crew for their support and leave the hangar. You check your watch and see it's only mid afternoon. It would be nice to stop off at the school store to pick up lots of snacks for tonight. Deciding on that, you leave the hangar and head for the school store. But along the way there, you get an odd feeling and turn around. No one there, odd. Returning on your original plan somewhat wearily, you continue walking. Only to be interrupted by your codec. A quick glance around reveals not a single person in sight. You take out your codec and see that Uncle Eli is ringing you.

“Hey Uncle.” you greet him.

“We have decided that you require more than what you have currently. There is a dead drop with supplies and equipment.” Uncle Eli tells you while sending the coordinates to your codec.

“I take it you've heard.” you ask him.

“Yes. When there was an inquiry into BROOOOOOOOTTTTTHHHHEEEERRRR'SSSSSSS genes, our suspicions were confirmed. FATHER wanted to make sure you received the support you need in the coming days.” Uncle Eli explains.

“What sort of equipment am I looking at?” you continue to ask, now making your way to the dead drop.

“Special activities field equipment, non-lethal variant. Tranq gun, octocamo, flash bangs, the usual. Big Snake agreed with FATHER that your equipment should stay non-lethal.” Uncle Eli answers.

“Bit odd since an IS carries vehicle mounted weapons.” you muse.

“FATHER thought that carrying a gun would cause unnecessary problems with the local government. But Solidus wanted FATHER to add a high-frequency blade. He thought it would have been, appropriate, for your location.” Uncle Eli comments.

You shake your head and smile, “Yeah, that sounds like Uncle George would do that.” “So. About that bet everyone has, is it really for the name of my first child?” you ask.

“So how far have you progressed with Cecilia Alcott?” Uncle Eli asks, obviously trying to deflect the question.

Deciding to go along with him, “Far enough that I know not to talk about it.”

Now done, you put your codec back into your inventory. The dead drop is a location at the far side of Academy Island. It's on a rocky beach with quite a few large rocks as obstructions. An easy place to infiltrate into during high tide from the looks of it. As you walk down onto the beach, your instincts start to give you an odd feeling. You aren't sure what it means but it certainly does make you more weary of approaching.

This situation is not right. Your instincts are telling you something is wrong here. You change your pace until not even your footsteps are heard. You lower your head to reduce your profile while using the rocks around yourself to prevent anyone from seeing you. You opt taking a roundabout way to the dead drop. You suspect that the dead drop has been compromised but you aren't completely sure. You carefully approach the location, looking for any obvious ambush places. Nothing immediately grabs your attention, so you slowly continue forward. Taking a short stop to maintain stealth, you barely hear the soft crunch of sand as someone readjusts their position. Someone is here.

Unable to make out their position, you continue to wait and watch. After a couple of minutes, you see the fuzzy, broken edges of an arm moving. Octocamo. Taking more time to find the contours of the body, you finally see the person laying in wait. Watching where you think the head is, you see him looking towards the dead drop while occasionally looking over his shoulder to his rear. You have your plan of attack. You approach his location while hiding between the rocks strewn around the beach. Once in place to attack, you wait for the right moment, the moment when just after he looks over his shoulder. A minute later, he looks over his shoulder and you attack.

You silently rush over to him and pull his arm away from him while simultaneously striking him downward in the back to knock him forward. Once he is on his knees, you use your arm to lock his caught arm up while locking his head down. With your free hand, you cover his mouth.

You carefully lift up the octocamo mask and begin your questioning, “Who are you and who do you work for?”

“John, we are the only ones in the world to use octocamo.” he answers.

You are shocked at such an answer, the only ones to use octocamo are Grandpa's special units.

You slowly feel your consciousness grow dark as you gently fall to the ground. In the darkness, you think you hear a hissing sound before a strong yank off into unconsciousness.

With a groan, you wake up sitting upright. The cold metal of the chair bites into legs as you feel around. Your head is in a black bag while your hands are bound behind your back. As your consciousness returns in full, you feel that you are in nothing but your underwear. You start to feel around for a way to gather more information about your situation.
