Getting late start tonight DRALO everything all right?

So, this thread is gonna be a little different. I know keeping you waiting to Sunday is a long wait for this quest, and, since I have a bit of time right now, we're just gonna do something simple. The main storyline will continue Sunday, and this little thread will be for tonight. The setting for this one was inspired by a series of questions I was asked on ask.fm last night

Chemin De Fer. It's a little bar pretty much in the middle of nowhere. You won't hear many people talking about it, at least not positively. Not because the place is necessarily bad. On the contrary, the employees are quite friendly, and the food tastes fine. The main problem is its location.

Smack dab in the middle of a desert road, a few miles from the nearest town, and much further from any city of even mild importance, it's so off the beaten path that most people have never even heard of it. On top of that, the clientele are oftentimes less than reputable. Brawls are not uncommon, and the occasional gunfight is to be expected.

Not the sort of place you'd expect six college-aged kids to be hanging out.

"So, Haya, interesting choice," Videl comments, glancing around the bar with a somewhat disgusted expression.

"Well sorry, but it's hard to hang out with you in public without being swarmed by the press," Haya comments at her side.

"Hey, it's not like I ask for all the publicity," Videl defends indignantly.

"Right, that would be your dad," Kazuma comments with a smirk.

"We know you don't care for all the attention," Haya says, putting an arm around her shoulder. "Which is why I picked this nice little place. Of course, if it doesn't live up to the standards of Satan City's Angel..."

Videl rolls her eyes. "It's fine."

You and the others head over to the bar, taking a seat and ordering drinks. You guys don't typically go out drinking, but you do meet up once a week to hang out. With everyone so busy with college and such lately, you all made sure to set aside time to spend together. Each week, one of you picks a place and activity. This week is Haya's turn.

"So, Billy, how's the farm?" Gohan asks, leaning on the bar.

"Well, now that the dinosaur pen is built, I can finally get T-Rex's there!" Billy says excitedly.

"You really think people are going to buy T-Rex meat from you?" Kazuma asks.

"Have you tasted it?" Haya asks. "It's really good."

"It's gonna be great!" Billy says happily.

"So, Gohan, how has your family been?" you ask your friend.

"Good," he tells you with a smile. "Dad's been training Goten, and apparently mom's even been helping him out."

"Really?" Haya asks.

Gohan nods. "Yeah, she's really relaxed after the whole "Cell" thing."

"So, Haya, how do you know this place?" you ask.

"Well, I came across it during one of my little trips," she answers, nodding to the bartender as he slides her a beer. "I liked it. It's nice and quiet, out of the way, and you sometimes get to see drunk idiots fight, so that's fun."

"How many "personal vacations" have you taken?" Videl asks.

"Hmm...a baker's dozen?" Haya guesses.

"Do you even know what a baker's dozen is?" Kazuma asks.

"By my count? Thirty-eight," Haya answers, not sounding offended by Kazuma's comment.

"I could use a vacation," Videl admits, sighing and taking a sip of her drink. "Between college and fighting crime, I've been exhausted."

"Yeah, how come you've been fighting crime as yourself instead of Saiyagirl lately?" you ask.

Videl glances at you. "Well, oh fearless leader, the whole team hasn't been needed in a while, so if I'm fighting crime by myself, I don't see the need to wear a disguise, not like I can get much more publicity than I already have."

"Should we really be discussing this in public?" Kazuma asks.

"Ah, relax, nobody here cares enough to tell anyone, and the people who work here are good at keeping secrets, right Horus?" Haya asks.

"Yes, ma'am," the bartender says, sliding her another beer.

"Good man," she tells him, looking at the rest of you. "So, anybody up for a little competition?"

"Well, what is it?" Videl asks.

"A drinking contest," Haya answers simply.

"That's it? That's your big competition?" Kazuma asks.

"Just because you don't have a shot at winning doesn't mean it won't be fun for the rest of us," Haya tells him.

"What do you mean I have no chance of winning?" Kazuma asks.

"Are you kidding? You're more of a lightweight than Gohan," Videl comments, jerking her thumb at the half-saiyan.

"Hey!" Gohan protests.

"I'll do it!" Billy announces.

"Thank you, Billy," Haya comments. "I can always count on you. What about you, Kaguya? Don't tell me you're gonna wuss out."

"Losers have to follow one command from the winner," you tell her. "Gotta make it interesting."

Haya grins. "That's more like it! Videl, you in?"

"I don't know," Videl says.

"Oh, loosen up a little!" Haya tells her. "What? Worried you can't beat these wimps?"

"We're sitting right here," Kazuma tells her.

"I know," Haya informs him. "Are you in, Kazuma?"

"If it will shut you up, then yes," he tells her in irritation.

"Good," Haya says. "Gohan?"

"Well, I guess so," Gohan agrees.

"Videl?"

Videl looks around at everyone, then sighs. "Okay."

"Great! Horus, another round!" Haya tells the bartender.

I got the impression from your Ask.fm that you don't approve of drinking much. I would advise you to reconsider your opinion: alcohol is great. The people who let themselves be seriously harmed by it are a definite minority.

Gohan proves to be the biggest lightweight of the group, rushing to the bathroom to vomit after a few beers. Videl calls it quits not long after, and Kazuma isn't far behind.

After nearly an hour, it becomes apparent that you, Billy, and Haya aren't going to be finished any time soon. You all hold your alcohol incredibly well, and even though the bartender tries to cut you off, you keep going.

"Guys, I think it's a draw," Videl comments.

"Yeah, call it quits," Kazuma agrees.

"But there has to be a winner!" Billy protests.

"Well, if the three of you win, you each get to give us orders, and orders to each other," Gohan suggests.

"Suddenly this seems like a bad idea," Kazuma says.

The others sigh in exasperation as you, Haya, and Billy continue drinking. You keep going and going until you finally pass out.

When you wake up, you find Billy sitting calmly at the bar, continuing to drink while an unconscious Haya is slumped next to you.

Always bet on Billy.
