Lying in bed you only hear the soft magical humming of the room. You open your eyes slowly, feeling actually refreshed for the first time in a long time. To your left lies Hereshiel, his head on your breasts while your arm is wrapped around him. He may be small and delicate looking but he sure is fun in bed. As he lies in your bosom your eyes scan the room until you look over and see it.

You still cant believe you made it, but there it is. Your armor. A large suit made of both chainmail and plates, decorated with the copious amounts of spikes, gold and magic jewels in this place, and colored a perfect mix of purple and gold. On the pauldron's and both sides of the bra are flickering, flaming, gold letters in an unknown language, each unknowable but yet perfectly understandable. They give the tall set of armor a powerful holy appearance which when coupled with the royal decorations make it give off a aura of power and might. Last but not least lie's the gauntlet on the right hand, a large decorated fist blazing with raw power.

As you sit there admiring your work you feel Hereshiel stir and cease his suckling of your breasts. Looking down you catch his eye's locked on your's, his short blonde and jeweled hair still looking perfect. He starts to smile but then seems to realize something and get up until you lightly hold him to you.

"And where are you going?"

"Well beast i am going to go make sure the people are okay, thats where im going. I have wasted too much time being seduced by you and now i must go!"

He then slowly rises and you dont stop him which makes him cock an eyebrow at you and stop moving.

"Is there a problem beast?! Did i exhaust you?"

"No."

"So what your just going to lie there all day?"

"Yup."

"Dont you lie to me! Your trying to let me leave so you can go back off friviously adventuring arent you?! Well i wont allow it!"

He then lays back down, eyeing you for a sign of movement and you simply give him a sharp winning smile.

Later on the two of you finally get out of bed, with Herestiel nagging the whole time before he leave's to go make sure the castle is functional and the residents taken care of. You on the other hand have alot more important things to do. After donning your armor, which makes you feel very empowered, and grabbing your warhammer, you prepare to set out for the day.

>If your going to actually be freeing all the slaves of Pherenial's kingdom and killing all the demons then your going to need actual spells. Nothing fancy of course, but your raw power needs to be more finesse at points and your magic more deadly. Time to search for a training room or study

Its probably best that you go and learn some actual spells for battle, maybe a healing spell if at all possible. You walk out of the bedroom, focusing your mind to find some kind of study or training area. The hallway goes bright, really bright, brighter than anything you have ever seen other than Rhiannon.

You shield your eye's and look away as everything just becomes a blinding white. Meanwhile in the background you hear what sounds like a raging storm full of lightning and wind, then the sound of something hard breaking against your armor and causing you to stumble. You smell ash and fire while feeling wet as if in a rainstorm and dry as in a desert.

The assault to your senses is annoying and you finally open your eye's to look around and see where you are.

You found something pretty shocking.

All around you it seems as if the elements themselves have declared war on each other in all their forms and then some. You see a mountain of lava, sitting on a sheet of ice while sand rains down around you. Looking elsewhere there is a river of...lightning for lack of a better term, and its bank's are made of some hissing and sizzling acid that melts all that lands inside of it. Looking dead ahead you see rock flying through the air before being blown apart by rapid spews of salty steam.

If the visual madness wasnt enough to torture your senses then the audio madness is. You can actually hear everything that is happening at the same time, sounds high and low, screeching and squealing, all the like.

Ahead through the chaos you see what appears to be a temple or building just sitting on a small area of stability. But its too far away for you to examine and there is a massive booming sound behind you. Looking behind you there is what is the biggest tornado you have EVER seen and its heading right towards you, sucking up everything else in its path as it forms into s chaotic mass of elements.

Turning away from the chaos behind you and to the building instead, you take off towards it. Behind you the storm grows ever closer, and the land goes mad. Acid starts sailing through the air while thunderbolts made of fire strike the metal ground as it is melted by encroaching salt. Your hooves slamming against the ground with each step, you duck as a spray of acid flies over you and melts a rock, and then dive forward as a bolt of fire incinerates the spot you were standing on.

Rolling to your feet you keep up your pace, dodging and weaving left and right as the world tries to kill you. Behind you the storm is almost upon you, and ahead of you is the building and stable ground. Now almost there, just gotta make it!

You reach the very edge of the chaos. By this point the storm is almost fully upon you, and you can feel it on your hooves. Deciding that its now or never, you put all your strength into your next step, crushing the ground you were standing on, and PUSH off with all your might, which then destroys the ground you were on. You sail through the air, lava and lightning flying around you, and land on the stable ground with a heavy crash, crushing the earth beneath your feet and landing crouched. You stand back up and look behind you as the storm covers the land in a chaotic mess of elements. It doesnt actually touch the stable ground, which seems to be a grassy rock with a crumbling building in the middle, it just surrounds it. Were you to take a step off this stability you would be dead instantly.

Looking back at the crumbling center building it appears covered in vines and moss, yet still intact. You walk over to it, passing jumbles of stone statues, and see two large rectangular doors. You push against them, and they open slowly with a squealing sound. Inside the air smells and taste of dust and dirt and you look around to see that it to is covered in vines and plant growth. Ahead of you is a platform wuth crystal below it and what appears to be a small urn with a statue next to it. You are about to walk forward when you hear a caw and out of nowhere a black raven comes and lands on your shoulder. It turns its small head, two glowing blue pupiless pits, and looks at you silently before letting out another caw.

You look at the small raven on your shoulder. It's beak it long and black, and its glowing blue eye's change to a deep red as it looks back at you. It feels a little heavy as it sits on your shoulder and you wonder how it even managed to be here all alone. Possibly through some strang magic but who knows. You think of something to say, and settle on something simple.

"Hi."

"..."

Well it didnt talk, you didnt actually exoect it to but it was worth a try. It then moves, stretching its small wings, and moves a little closer to you. You then see it start to grow blacker and larger, and it leaps off your shoulder and lands on the ground. It starts to stand up, becoming taller and taller, until it is actually close to your height.

It turns, its eyes red and mean looking, large black wings on its back while its head to its chest is covered in the darkest feathers you have ever seen. Its 12ft tall and its frame is thin and lean, showing only muscle and no fat, while its legs are bird legs. It cocks its head at you and just stands there in front of you.

"Hello."

"..."

"Can you speak?"

"..."

"If you can speak, and you wont answer me, then move. I have things to do."

In response it steps closer to you and looks up at you. You grip your hammer and raise it, annoyed by its silence, and it leaps up at you. It lands with its hands on your pauldrons and its small talons on your armor, and it just stares at you silently.

You look into its red eye's, annoyed by it. Really if it's going to jump on you it could at LEAST say something, instead it just decides that holding onto you silently is a better thing to do.

"Really? I mean really? This is how you greet someone?"

It doesnt respond back and you let out a huff of annoyance before walking forward to the urn. In response to you moving the raven like humanoid moves over you in a way that could only be called unnatural. It crawls over your armor and positions itself so that its on your back, talon's digging into the sides of your armor, and its long and lanky arms wrap around your chest vertically.

You look back at it as its head hangs next to yours, and it looks back to you. Why is it so silent and weird. It sits on your back as if waiting for you to do something. You wonder just what it is and what it wants, before continuing on with your survey of the room. As you take a step towards the urn though its arms and talons grip on you tighter and you sigh and look back at it annoyed.

>Could you get off. Your annoying me now

You continue to look back at the silent humanoid.

"So how long have you been here?"

"..."

Alright this isnt going to get you anywhere apparently. You let out a small sigh, and decide that since your stuck with this thing maybe it can be in a more comfortable form. For you at least.

"Can you transform back into a bird or something? Maybe a bigger one? I find that i liked you better in that form."

In response it cocks its head at your remark and hops off of you. Turning around you see it flapping its wings and hovering low, before it flies up into the darkness above you. Well that was weird and annoying. Hopefully when you see it again it actually has something to do or say.

Heading over to the urn you see that it has a closed top, and is fairly undecorated. You sesrch around the urn and look over to see a statue with its mouth open, crumbling and leaning in your direction. You look between the mouth and the closed pot and go to open the lid when you hear loud fluttering behind you.

"So your back already? Have anything to say?"

You turn around and see the original bird standing and clutching a crystal spear with a metallic shield tied to it in one hand, and a sword in the other. Not sure of how to take this, yet always being weary, you raise your war hammer and turn fully towards it.

"Is there a problem? If there is i would be glad to address it."

The bird doesnt respond, simply staring at you until out of the darkness comes a second bird exactly like the first, also with a spear-shield and sword but in different hands. The two simply stand there looking at you as if they are waiting for you to do something.

You grip your hammer and look down at the two raven's. They must be the guards of the place which would make sense considering their weapons. Maybe they can show you around.

"I havent come for trouble, so you can put your weapons away. Can i assume you two are the guards? Why dont you show me around?'

In response they just watch you quietly. You and them stare into each other and you feel their eye's examining you and looking you over, though they both stand there as silent as statues. Since your not getting anywhere talking to them you turn around and open the urn. Inside you see a blank featureless book. You take it out and open it to the first page. Upon doing so the leaning statues mouth glows and it shoots a beam of energy onto the book which starts being absorbed by it. Watching it the book gains color and shapes itself into a elegant deep blue book with symbols on it.

Opening the book you see a number of words and letters that make no sense to you at all. You flip through the book, seeing a number of what seems to be formula's and symbols next to sigils. On one page though you see a perfectly detailed illustration of the twin birds with unknown writing on it.

Turning back to the birds you see them still standing their, silent as ever. You walk over to them, hooves clopping against the ground loudly, and they dont even move or flinch, just keep watching you as you approach. Turning it towards them you tap the page with the illustration and words.

"Do you all know what this says?"

They look at it with the same unchanging expression they gave you, one that is basically undeterminable to you. As they look at it though they look between each other, then it, and ladt at you. Their red eye's bore into you for an unnerving amount of time until they act in unison. They put their swords on their hips, raise their clawed hands and reach forward and grab you. Their talons are surprisingly strong, and they stretch their wings and take off.

They are both obviously very strong, for they lift your weight with one hand quite easily and with no struggle. This isnt even to tell how strong their wings must be, for they soar through the air very fast, and soon your no longer on the ground but high in the air. Though surprised you managed to hold onto your hammer and the book, but your still annoyed by the suddenness of this take off.

As you sail into the darkness the area slowly but surely becomes less and less ruined and crumbled, until you all reach a large empty area that has a circular floor with a pedistal in the middle while a path leads to a gold and blue door. Apparently this place is also bigger on the inside like the castle.

The two birds lower you to the ground gently before letting go and flying over to the door and standing on both sides of it like perfect sentinels. You look around the darkness, then back down at the ground, and decide your stuck until you have them bring you back down.

>Well might as well go to the pedestal. Maybe it has something i can do or use.

You turn to the birds. This time your actually angry at them. They just pick you up and fly off to who-knows-where like its nothing, and they STILL dont talk. You point your hammer at them and scowl as you speak.

"Next time could you all warn me? I really feel like cracking your skulls over that cause it wasnt fun nor funny. You hear me bird brains?"

They dont respond, simply standing next to the door and waiting for you to do something. Angry at their silence, you turn back and walk to the pedestal to see what it can do or what it does.

Arriving at it you see that the pedestal has a small dial, and it rises up automatically, floating off the ground, so that you can read it. The dial has 4 settings and below it the indecipherable words change magically so that you can read them. You read it low to yourself.

"The one who passes the test may control the(indecipherable)and the study."

Well whatever that one word was it might be the birds. But it seems before you can go any further or even leave this place you must beat the birds, aka the test.

You stretch and crack your knuckles. This should be fun.

Well you came here to train your magical skill and power, so why wouldnt you fight with magical skill and power? You set the difficulty to three, more than confident in your skills, and wait for something to happen. You step back as the pedistal floats back down to its base and then sinks into the ground, leaving the circular metal floor totally clear. You then look over to see the birds fly up into the air and then dissapear into the darkness. Well at least they are about to do something, now you only have to wait. You look down at your hammer and examine it while you do. It is very nice and articulate, hopefully you can make it bigger and longer though, either through magic or straight forging. Though how you make such a work of art better is beyond you. Lowering your hammer, you then examine your fist, which still blazes with fury that empowers you. Between it, your mace, and your glowing armor, you have full confidence in your chances of winning, like you always do. This is good because the birds are back, and they look ALOT different.

The birds fly out of the darkness rapidly and land on the ground with twin metallic booms before rising to their feet quickly. They wear some fancy armor, full plate with spikes and a large jewel in the midsection. On their left and right sides 4 long metal strips hang down with long blades on their ends. Their heads are covered with helmets that arent shaped to their faces but are just large enough to fit it all. The metal armor glows faintly with blue light, and in their hands are tall metal staffs with clear crystal orbs for heads. Well you chose magical skill and power, it seems thats what your going to get.

Say 2 rolls are 44 and 68.

44 is less than 50, hence fail
68 is higher than 50, hence success
They dont cancel out, but the higher/lower one wins out. The success must be of a certain height to be 44 since it was the first roll.

100-44=66 so the success must be higher than 66 to counteract the first . Roll was 68 so it wins out and makes it a success.

If roll was 68 first and 44 second then the fail must be under a certain number to turn action into a fail.

100-68=32 so the fail must be lower than that. Instead its 44, hence not low enough, so since success had initative it wins out.

Last but not lease when there are 3 consecutive rolls, then the next 3 must be higher or lower by a certain amount, each individually higher than the one above it.

53,31,89 vs 57, 6, 88

First two are successes they good
Second two are fails. They bad and will influence in their own way
Third two are borderline high successes, so baring rolls below 10 they are safe.

They wanted to know how math works and how rolls determined. I am obliging them.
>>
Let us math tg. Now i dont normally truly determine how fucked you are/arent, i just look at rolls and go:

"Welp their screwed."

Or

"Welp they passed."

But since you want to know i am happy to oblige.

>QM puts on nerd glasses.

>Rolled 53, 31, 89 = 173
>Rolled 57, 6, 88 = 151
>Rolled 46, 34, 50 = 130
>Rolled 94, 85, 8 = 187
>Rolled 17, 21, 86 = 124

First set: 53, 57, 46, 94, 17
All successes except 46 and 17, but the crit renders them both mute unless they are below 10. The action corresponding with this will have you not screwed up

Second set: 31,6,34,85,21
All fails except 34, including a high fail. This set will fuck you up when i post.

Third set: 89,88,59,8,86
All successes but one high fail of 8. This is where i normally good guy/based QM and go "They got like 3 80's who gives a shit about thay 8 since its not below 5."

So this next post will be as follows:

Set 1 action: Get fucked birds
Set 2 action: No. Birds fuck you
Set3 action: Good guy Qming. You dont fuck birds and they dont fuck you

Does this all make sense? Also i like to good guy QM so dont worry about all this math. Just cross your fingers and pray, but for noe this is what you got.

You take the initiative, deciding that waiting for the birds to attack you can only result in failure. You clench your fist, raise your hammer, and charge at the birds. Apparently your sudden action took them both by surprise for they are actually too slow to react, a big difference compared to their speed earlier. As they bring their staffs forward you reach them and swing your hammer directly at one, hitting him in the chest and sending him flying away. The other manages to level his staff at you and it starts to glow with swirling energy. He discharges it at you, but your fist smacks it upward and sends the beam shooting into the darkness before you pull back and punch him hard in the face and send him flying across the platform.

The two birds rise to their feet quickly, and their staffs glow bright as they take identical stances. The one on front of you jumps forward a bit before slamming his staff into the ground and sending a narrow wave of energy at you. You start to dodge until your suddenly coiled in chains from behind that keep you from moving. You struggle against them, but its too late, and your hit directly by the wave as pain sparks across your body. You fall on your back from the blow and attempt to ignore the pain.

The two birds then take to the skies, and fly high above you before aiming their staffs down. Large intricate circles form, and you hurry in your attempt to rise to your feet. The twin circles then discharge their stored spell as you rise, and you dive out of the way as the ground is hit by spears of fire. You rise back to your feet as they point their staffs and the circles change in pattern and shape.

Roll a 2d100 for dodge then roll for your action, aka a d100. This makes your total roll 3d100 or higher. I take first two rolls as dodge roll.

You move back as the birds unleash another set of spells. The ground you were just standing on is skewered with ice, and the birds continue to keep the onslaught of it going, forcing you to run around the platform as it is pierced by the sharp shards. Dodging left and right, you dont stop until you see your opening, and you charge towards them as you ready your spell. In your fist you form a spear of magic, but not just a shape of magic but a well shaped javelin of it. You reach near the birds, jump forward, and hurl your javelin through the air. It flies, guided by magic, and hits a bird and explodes, knocling both out of the air.

The birds hit the ground with loud crashes, but are on their feet instantly. They charge at you with their staff's glowing and then spin around twice, trailing magic on their spears, before shooting twin concentrated beams. The beams hit you dead on, but dont knock you off your feet as you use raw strength to stay standing. The pain is great, and your very sure your armor is mitigating ALOT of the pain, hence why your not in ashes right now. You fight back with all your might, but if this keeps up you will be blown back

The magic they are channeling against you is strong, but if there is one thing you have always been its stronger than anyone. Gripping your hammer hard in one hand you push your hand forward, the birds magic being pushed away from your by it, and focus your magic. No random blast of magic will suffise for this, you need to actually fight back. Your hand fills with green energy, and the pressure on it builds until it almost feels unbearable. Then you shoot it forward, the green energy pushing back against the birds beam. You keep pouring your energy and shaping it into a solid concussive beam. The birds beams are pushed back rapidly, and you look at them to see them unchanged in channeling of their spell. You also take a step forward as your beam pushes against theirs, a momentous amlunt of effort, and then another and another, advancing towards them slowly.

Eventually your magic reaches them and their is a loud sound as the two of them a hit and blown away, and your arm jerks back from the force of your blast. You feel a little stronger due to the spell and smile slightly as you think of its usefulness in the future. A shot of solid magic will either blow something away, apart, or cause some serious internal damage, just what you need.

>Spell gained: Concussive Beam

Apparently though even that wasnt enough to stop the birds. They are back standing next to each other staffs straight up and in the air. They slam their staffs into the ground, and the platform shakes as a loud boom is produced. You watch as the two of them grow bigger suddenly, until they are your height, and they charge at you at a unprecedented speed. Undaunted you swing your hammer, and they side step it perfectly and slam their glowing staff heads into your chest. Their is another loud boom as you fly across the platform and land near the edge with a heavy crash. What the hell was that? They knocked the wind out of you. You rise to your feet in pain, and the two birds charge with weapons raised.
>>
Deciding that standing on the edge isnt good for your health, you run at them as well with your hammer raised and fist clenched. The two of you meet in the middle of the platform and clash. You punch forward at one, and he flips over you and slams the glowing head of his staff into your lower back and makes a loud booming sound. The attack sends you falling forward in pain, and the other spins before slamming his staff into your face and knocking you back with another boom. These birds can hit hard apparently. The birds then raise their staffs and drop them at the same time onto your stomach. Even through your strong armor, that attack hurt something, and you cough up a sudden spurt of red blood. Seeing the blood would normally enrage you, but before you can make it that far the birds take stances on either side of you and touch staffs in the air, causing a circle as large as you to form.

The large featureless circle forms above you, and then glows and wavers before letting a blast of sound and force directly down on you. The blast is heavy and hard, and it feels like its crushing you as it is released down on to you. You clench your teeth in pain, and attempt to get up, but the birds merely increase the strength of the brutal solid sound and so does the crushing down on you increase. You let out another heavy cough of blood. You have to end this spell now before its too late!

Roll 2d100

This may hurt, but simply sitting here wont decrease the pain. You raise your hand slowly, pushing back against the birds spell with all your might, and open it as it glows green. You have fought everything from dragons to demons. There is NO way you are going to actually due from these two attacking you, no matter how strong they are. You focus all your energy into your hand and point it at the circle. The birds increase the pressure of the attack, but despite the pain you are not weakened or stopped. Your arm shakes and your focus is unsteady as things start to go fuzzy, but you keep your mind firm and fire off the spell. The beam hits the birds magic circle directly, and it starts sucking in your attack and glowing and vibrating until it explodes. The two birds are blown to either side as their magic fails and implodes from your beam. The explosion is horizontal...somehow, and doesnt hurt you or hit you.

As the birds go out of sight and dissapear silently you take a few deep breaths, thankful for the reprieve. Slowly but surely you rise to your feet, coughing up blood. These birds were definetly not weak, and if this wasnt even the hardest difficulty, you dont even want to think of what the final one was. You fall back down as you attempt to stand, and out the corner of your eye you see one of the birds approaching. You aim your gauntlet and fire off a beam at him, only for it to sidestep the attack, rush forward, and grab you under your arm. The other bird appears and grabs you under your arm as well, and they lift you off the ground slowly, large black wings beating in the air.

You dont know what these birds plan to do and you dont want to find out. You close your eye's and focus your magic outward. You feel the hands gripping you tighten, and then fly off as a field of off renders them unable to hold you. Falling to the ground, you end up on your hands and knees, before you start coughing up more blood. Your field surrounding you, you look over to see a bird move close, raise his staff, and slam it down on your shield. The shield mavers a bit, as your concentration and focus is slowly being loss as you slip into unconsciousness. You also are starting to feel weak, as if your running out of magic, and as you let out another cough of blood you turn and fire a concussive beam that sends the bird flying through the air. You search for your hammer, and luckily its not too far away. You crawl over to it, blood dripping from your mouth, and grab the handle. You take a few more deep breaths, then lift it and put it on its head so you can use the handle to pull yourself up. You slowly and painfully get to your feet, though you stumble once, and barely manage to stand all the way up. You didnt expect these birds to just be so damn strong! No wonder only two of them are guards, anymore would be some serious overkill. As you stand you raise your hammer and your fist, before looking around for the birds. You dont see either of them nor hear either of them, though that last one could be because your ears are ringing. You look around in the darkness around and above you, for the slightest clue of where they are.

Then you see it, a faint sprinkling of light speeding towards you out of the darkness. You try to cast your beam at it, but you are too slow. The bird comes out of his invisibility spell mere feet away from you, his glowing staff trailing magic as he ends his high speed dive bomb directly on you. His staff hits you dead center in the chest, the least covered spot on your body due to it being so...large and fleshy yet out of reach to say the least, and protected by the most magic, but when his staff hits your chest there is a massive BOOM as the stored sound spell detonates directly on it.

It is good that you have such powerful magical armor, especially around the chest. If you didnt there wouldnt have been much left of you earlier, and definetly not now. Sadly the strength and proximity of the spell means that while you arent incinerated, and the armor not broken or failing, you take ALL of the force. You fly away from the bird, across the wide platform and land with a sickening crunch. Your head feels faint, the taste of blood fills your mouth, and your body feels like its going to fail you. You look up in the air and see the other bird diving you.

Unwilling to go out like this, dieing to a bunch of birds! How disgraceful and unglorious, even if said birds are strong as hell. As the bird is almost on you, which is soon, you clench your fist and start channeling a concussuve beam in it, not releasing it even as you feel the raw energy pooling in your arm. You look up and the bird is right where you need it, and you punch up with all your might. Your fist is glowing green as the overcharged concussive beam is stored in it. The raven's face connects directly with your fist, its staff barely missing your head, and it is sent away from you, soaring through the air silently without its staff. It lands with a crash on its back, metal covered wings(how the hell where they even flying?!)laying stretched out beside it.

That bird doesnt get up, but there is still one left. He flies toward you at top speed, and you scowl at him before putting all your energy and rage behind your beam. You hold it in and channel it, until the bird is upon you with the glowing head of its staff about to crash into your skull. You open your hand then, letting the hyper charged beam of solid magic out. The bird is covered in green energy, hitting him and covering his whole body. It plants its feet and takes one step forward, fighting against your energy with its titanic strength. You let out a roar of rage and with one last burst of raw energy the bed is finally thrown off of you and away by the beam. It flies farther than its companion and lands just shy of the edge of the pit. Your vision goes hazy and you slip into unconsciousness. But before you faint and leave you hear a voice, coming through a sound barrier as if speaking through water.

"Test 3 passed."

Then you close your eye's and faint from the extreme pain, internal bleeding, and the use of all your energy.

Damn nail biter, that's for sure. Still, enjoyable! It made sense to face an enemy that could teach her some humility. In fact, that could be a new tenant, right there! Any idea when the next thread might be?

It seems more like we were choosing the difficulty setting for the only test.
