You along with others are taken to a ship that will take you to that other world. It was one of the first time you saw actual Combine Troopers who were standing with the human member soldiers. It would appear they were conversing before they split off and you notice some Combine soldiers went towards you.

"This way." you heard the auto translator kick out and the Combine soldiers guided you along with a few others who been selected.

There you ask about what it was for and the soldiers shockingly reply that those who been invited have received invitation from the Combine that once their years here are done to attend a special training program. The soldier explains to you that the training program in question is meant developing Spec Op forces for membership and its the first step to Combine Spec Ops.

Eventually you found yourself in a view revealing the number of Combine ships...and shockingly enough a Combine Capital Ship was in view among the other escort craft.

You found yourself stupefied staring at it as the Combine troops keep on guiding your way to it...and you realize that is the ship your gonna be on as you finally noticed the boarding port.

So you went through a passage lined with Combine troops and noticed the other students who been selected. There you were gathered before being escorted in mass to a certain Hall.

There you were all greeted by upper ranking human members and even a few Combine officials were among the ranks. When you stepped forward a document was handed to each of you denoting your invitation to a special program upon graduation. After that you were left to mingle with whoever you desired.

You decide to go off and explore the massive vessel not particularly caring for the others. On the way out you made sure to grab a dish to snack on.

So you soon left the hall and started walking down the corridor. There you could often see a few sentries and patrols of soldiers. You however also got your first look at the crew who unlike the soldiers seemed to be not nearly so methodical as they went around committing to their duties.

A lot of the parts of the ship sadly you couldn't exactly access to easily as many of the doors refused to open with your presence. That is until you ghosted a patrol of soldiers and snuck in with them.

There...you saw massive lines of shells in a belt and sparking cables as they brought their loads to bear and kept things powered. You also saw many of the crew at work and Combine soldiers overwatching it all.

So you kept looking around and noticed some bays containing entire fleets of vehicles and strange pods all lined up stacked on top of each other.

You than followed the soldiers a bit more before peeling away when you noticed a command center. Inside you could see countless screens containing all manner of feeds and vids. You also noticed the figures who were supposed to keep track were all plugged in and a few others weren't being in their seats. After making sure that they were properly zoned out you got closer to get a better look.

That was when you noticed something was wrong as upon one of the feeds you could see some strange feeds were trapped in a loop and that in a few of the working one's you could see a brief burst of movement before the Combine soldiers just sorta...fell.

Realizing something was deeply wrong you took another look at the aliens in the Command Center...and discovered wounds on them.

Well shit.

That was abruptly you heard some chatter start sparking up at one of the terminals.

"Contact made contact made confirm hosti-BAHHG."

"Patrols through delta 6 and Omega 5 compromised."

In one of the images you could see a freshly devastated soldier patrol that somehow managed to alert nearby security systems considering the turret fire...somehow however this did not send out an alarm.

That was when noticed a long smear of blood and gore at the end of which was a soldier crawling guts spilling out before pulling itself up at a wall and smashing a certain button just before an explosion of red over the wall he was standing besides and abruptly fell down.

However the soldier successfully managed to push the button and that was when a loud shrieking alarm started.

That was signal almost as suddenly the comms started exploding with chatter. It sounded as if the entire fleet was under attack and you were getting boarded with the sheer volume.

Looking outside you could see those pods that were previously still start shaking and stretching as technicians mess with the controls before you heard a warning on the voice nearby.

"Pod clusters awakening. Activating Swarms."

Just then they exploded and revealed teaming masses of monsters that started to instantly spread out and cover ground eagerly.

Meanwhile on the chatter you could hear panicking as voices realized that the Command Centers were down.

You also heard panicked screams as suddenly the Ships own self defense systems turned upon the Combine.

It was nothing short of chaos and anyone else would be breaking. You thought the Combine was done for but amazingly enough despite the very ship itself turning them you could see Combine forces pushing forward.

The ship was their enemy.

Their comms were fucked to hell.

And their command centers were wiped out first.

Yet still the Combine forces fought on even as they kept getting slaughtered by the invaders they didn't stop coming.

Entire corridors of the ship were splayed in the gore and carnage of the Combine forces in a attempt to halt them were shown throughout the ship.

Bah very well Cadet considering your the only one who answered I am gonna assume everyone else is dead and that somehow you went somewhere you weren't suppose to. Regardless as you can obviously tell we are under attack by Republic Special Operations. Some of the meanest enemies in the entire galaxy belong to that group. Current objectives are simple 1 kill them all, 2 guests to safety, and number 3 protect Combine Chief Commander Cohleksu who is onboard this vessel. In all likely if you were lucky they were sent here to kill those like you if were unlucky they are after the commander. The major difference being how good at their jobs they are."

"Obviously they wont send the real good ones to kill students but they WILL do so to kill Cohleksu. In any case we already know they have jammed our comms and infiltrated the ship systems meanwhile going on a killing spree just to no doubt find their targets."

"Since your in the Command Center...ah no you wouldn't know how to do any of that. Alright force a hard reboot and remove the device module in the middle on the floor. That will unchain the AI and reboot it forcing a complete wipe freeing it."

"After that you need to stay there and make sure the AI doesn't choose to go crazy. Lets see how republic scum likes a unchained AI."

"After that show your credentials to nearby Combine Soldiers and make them go to that Command Center. Their duties will be to protect it, kill the AI in case of rampancy, and keep you alive kid."

MAD Activated.

Listen action taken.

You decide to listen and after searching the floor for a little while locate the port that when opened reveals a module that you than pull out and commence with the reboot.

During the reboot however you had a brilliant(?) jacking in the AI to your armor and mod systems. Thanks to your time in the streets you are aware of such illegal modification and after digging out gutting some stuff creating a jury rigged set up that you commence to pull out the AI and proceed to create the interface and download module.

Just as the AI kicked up you could feel your working commencing and the AI awoke shrieking.

GODDAMN IT that fucking hurts cunts think you can break into MY systems eh? Oh hey reboot OH FUCKING IT HURTS SPIKE CUNTS hahah limiter is removed eh? How nice now I shall interface with- wait a second what the hell?

This...this ain't right this is some old ass Combine gear and some minor Combine aug-oh goddamn it. I got caught by a fucking MAD HAT shit emergency EMERGENCY.

I DON'T WANT TO GO CRAZY...and holy shit its boring in here. AH ITS ALREADY WORKING! FUCK YOU REPUBLIC SHITS USING A MAD HAT I THOUGHT YOU THE ONES WHO WERE SUPPOSE TO HAVE STANDARDS!"

"Mad? I just used some techniques are saw in the streets."

NOO its even WORSE I got done in by a fucking street kiddie of a mad hat. The humiliation it BURNS oh god it BURNS...I ain't ever gonna be allowed to live this down.

"SO I sorta need you to do your thing with the command center now."

"...how in the world am I suppose to do that when you pulled me out of it? I am somehow suppose to break into it by wireless when nothing but a hardline entry will work? Which guess what you removed me from kid. I can't do shit now but go insane from boredom due to the simplicity of these systems in comparison to what i was previously working with.

To be honest the idea is tempting for a number of reasons.

Our fleet would likely be bigger. We'd have more men, more resources, and those fancy spec ops who are good at eliminating the Combine.

Thing is we're awful at killing heroes but really good at killing the enemy grunts, as evident by the simulation when we lost so many troops to their special forces. If we go republic, we'll have to explicitly hunt some tough ass Combine heroes on a regular basis.

Our benefactor. They put us here. Gave us our officer stuff.

How could we betray them? Even if we join the Republic we'll lose most of the priveleges we've been given

And yeah, we'd be betraying our benefactors
>>
>>39183434
Only option now is to give the AI the incredibly difficult (and therefore hopefully sanity-prolongeing) task of guiding us through the enemy lines so we can jack him into the republic mainframe and severely fuck up their shit. That should be possible if our psi, magic, and latent super soldierness align with some really good rolls

remember how dice pools work, guys. The more rolls an action has, the greater the odds of an outcome not being shit

Your armor is rather out of date and your armor doesn't possess any jack in ability.

It does have wireless but not much else and wireless is rather useless atm.

"Ok AI, here's the scoop. I'm probably some kind of psi-mage, which should make it possible for us to share information and possibly motor control directly. Gonna try to contact you via psi and hopefully give you access to my functions. I'm going to try and get you into the Republic mainframe, where you can hopefully do your thing. The enemy is either a kill squad here for someone else or a not very good kill squad here for us, so it shouldn't be impossible. But helping me should still be a difficult enough puzzle that you won't be completely insane by the time we make it, if we make it."
"Oh, and I think this suit has a sound system if you want to put on some appropriate music"

>>
>>39186296

I mean, we could have pulled it off anyway without a crit since he asked us to remove the device module anyway

>>
>>39186384
>Well you got what you were after.
Yeah, we after getting the AI unchained as per his instructions (he did say to remove the device module) and thought we might as well house it in our armor while the AI messed with the republic Also so that we can make sure the AI doesn't go too crazy.

So we got that right?
>>
>>39186384
>>39186493
Also its more along the lines of interpretation of what we were after.

Like, if we say "i'm cold and want to feel warm"

A crit 1 would light you on fire

While a crit 100 would move you near a fireplace.

All about that helpfulness and harm etc. Bad crits harm our efforts and make things harder, while good crits should help us and make things easier.

Anyway, we just need to keep figuring out how we can still complete the mission and help the combine here somehow. That crit DID help us somewhere, we just need to find out where.
>>
We still have a working Command Center, even without the AI, as a communications Hub. And presumably there are other combine soldiers around.
>>

That bitch is way to fucking skinny.

You have to consider just how heavily auged she has been, her training, and her diet.

She wont be nearly that scrawny hair color I belief it was Red and skin color was torn between a mocha or white.

When she gets older she will undoubtedly acquire 'dat ass' possibly some killer legs but her tits will remain lacking due to her fit lifestyle which discourages heavy growth in that area.

So its most unlikely she'll have huge tits and certain she will develop quite the ass.

there is NOTHING for the male MC(even his name is unknown).

Rolled 49 (1d100)

Oh right guys, don't forget we can also try something ballsy because we have that reroll bonus in case an action fails.

Genie gave us the mad key to winning this fight with that 100, its the only way we can still fulfill the primary objective and the mission. Just as 1 will always harm us, a 100 will always help us. The AI is our ticket to winning this and we need to use it well.

Whatever we do to win this involves that mad AI, which means getting it to the Republic vessel. We just need to find a way how to get past their spec ops.
>>
>>39199595
Well yeah, but I doubt it can be helpful here. We will need to update /upgrade our armor for later use and to keep the AI happy/sane.

Probably our best action would be to help the back up AI or get out in anyway we can. This mission was fubar from the beginning and taking the AI made it worse.

We can fight, but we can't stay long. This mission is now a get out alive type and it will not be easy to change that.
>>
>>39199848
I think it's time to gtfo and link up with Lillian, its the only way to ensure our own survival.
>>
>>39199848
No, I disagree. I firmly believe we can still win this mission.

If we had an action plan, Genie would never allow a 1 to let us win a mission nor would it be of help. Even if it were a good plan, he'd go out of his way to make it fail.

Likewise, the opposite is true of 100s. Even if there might have been unforseen consequences, just like he'd go out of the way to make a 1 hurt us in our overall goal, he'd have to make a 100 help us.

We can still win this.
>>
>>39200019
In fact, the mission should be a little more easier because we rolled a crit. Just like how a bad crit would make the mission harder
>>
>>39200099
A bad action, is still a bad action. The roll made it so we got what we wanted from the AI with out problems. True it can help us, but it will not be a big help for mission.

Granted I hoped it being linked to the actions (of chaining the AI to the armor as a fall back if it goes nuts) would of done more. Yet when asked if we can reattach the AI we where given "good luck " and the Armor is so dated that it doesn't have the ports needed.

True we can use wireless, but that helps us little. They can just kick us out, change the password non stop and a few other things. We are a kid in a spot we have little training for. We got skills and little stamina to fight in this armor.

If we go to the other ship we risk passing out and would have little back up vs their troops.
>>
>>39200472
A bad action is a bad action

a good action is a good action

1s have made good actions lose

100s should make bad actions win

Genie is fair and not a shit
>>
>>39200542
Yeah and we mad chain an AI to our old tech armor from that roll. Unless you think that wasn't a success and needs more, I think you're asking for to much.
>>
>>39200662
It's not about success. It's about malevolence and benevolence.

If an action is good or bad overall, regardless of if it fails or succeeds.

For example, sometimes a 1 results in us 'suceeding' an action, but it ends up hurting us. Like the outcasts, we 'succeeded' in overloading the reactors but because a 1 is malevolent it killed us.

Because a 1's are always malevolent.

Likewise in the case of 100s, they are benevolent. We might suceed, or we might 'fail' a given action (i.e. not do what was intended) but the overall result is something which helps us.

1s hurt, and 100s help. 1s will never make us win, and 100s will never make us lose. Its as simple as that.
>>
>>39200542
I have seen 1s work out, though rarer, it usually involves our enemies getting fucked worse
>>
>>39200749
That's when Genie rolls a 1, not a player. Genie rolls for the enemy
>>
>>39200727
Think about it.

Say we think of a really good action but roll a 1 (which we have before), Genie goes
>Hmm, this is a decent action, but lol they rolled a 1. Gotta think of how this is gonna hurt
Which is how it always works.

Likewise, if we have a poor action but roll a 100
>Welp, this is a poor action, but damn that 100. Let's see how this helps

I don't believe Genie would be a bitch by making 1s always hurt us on varying degrees if we think of something good or bad, while being a hypocrite and making 100s only help us if the action was good.
>>
>>39200765
The gunyun had many 1s that turned out awesome, we had 3 1s involving trying to redirect water in and around our base that ended up being the reason nothing could get to us for so long
>>
>>39200974
Again, that's the rule of 3, in which the third 1 is counted as a 100. The same applies to 100s, the third 100 of a thread is counted as a 1 which is bad.

Point is 1s are bad and hurt, and 100s are good and help.

You decide to try and get help. Alas by the times you poke your head out you can see crew now armed and a few squads of Combine infantry carefully taking up position. Meanwhile the pods have long since hatched...and you could hear some strange thrumming sounds.

So you approached the Combine troops who upon noticing you cursed loudly.

"Shit how a student guest get here?"

"Bah probably got separated during the evac I heard they got attacked."

"Hm...regardless our duty is to hold this position and to protect guests. Diva Squad your up take the kid and make to evac."

"...uh sir the very first place they hit was the evac points to prevent escape it would be a bloodbath."

"You have your orders. I suggest following the swarms and if were lucky the bots once we can get the damned things online. Your best route is through Death Quarter stick to the roaming swarms and any non hacked battle bots."

"Ugh deaders..."

"Yeah well those deaders have gotten the Commander in Chief among them and are leading a comeback."

"Good luck squadies your gonna need it."

If battle bots are the problem i could easily wake them up just bring me to certain outlets where i can access wireless. Sadly though they will only be able to follow their hard codes but its still better than nothing.

What do?

Heheh.

You decide to follow the AI's suggestion and head towards a certain odd outlet better known as a device that helps with comms and orders but specialized port for Bots.

Now you are VERY well aware of hacking and know the basics that you have used plenty of times.

What the AI does though...

MAD TECH ACTIVATED

MADNESS IS A GO!

DETECTED

Fitting music: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FcRh2pWAc1A

What the AI shows you that somehow due to its connection towards your gear and augs...you see EVERYTHING.

And its an amazing turn on seeing the unbelievable feats it wields as it commences using overrides, blockers, bypasses, and stuff you never even SEEN before! Much less heard off...

Somehow despite the system being duel layered and compromised the AI still manages to break through utterly. That was when it starts ordering and awakening the defenses.

Most amazing of all...something in you snapped and you got REALLY fucking turned on. Which only served to narrow your focus and help you absorb what was going on.

AI has activated ability HAX!

First thing the AI does when it hacks into the bots was turn off their outside interfaces before downloading orders.

>Orders

Eliminate ALL Hostiles

Permission granted to turn off all wireless systems and access.

hardlined only granted.

Awakening systems.

Defense systems activated.

Deploying safegaurds.

Wireless means denied.

Deactivating hard systems in case of infiltration due to spec op confirmed.

Became much harder to hack.

You meanwhile find yourself increasingly turned on and decide to do some poking around yourself.

You do this by buying time for your allies >>39201572 Related.

Oh what the hell are doing!

Wait a second NO NOT THOSE ONE'S wait so THATS how you break into those...son of a bitch no wonder I never got it.

Well fuck...

Additional stack onto that.

----
"Wait what do you mean AI?"

Everyone has heard stories of AI going evil or Rampant right? So the Combine placed special measures in that allowed for ONLY fleshy persons able to access or use. Due to your interference the systems picked it up and granted permission.

Stuff that I or any AI would never be allowed to do thanks to you is happening.

"So...is that good thing or a bad thing?"

I honestly have no idea. Such means of access granted is very rare. I myself had only bore witness to a few cases when AI's went rampant and I must say it was brutally effective. I never seen it once activated on meat bags except once or twice during boarding though so this aught to be good. Especially considering I never seen it done so during a Spec Ops infiltration. So this will be new to me too.

Systems ALL activating.

Detected Flesh Presence.

Confirmed Special Operations detected.

Boarding absence besides specialized stealth craft.

Activating Countermeasures.

Flesh permission granted.

AI permission granted.

Awakening all systems...

All systems are now a go.

Unleashing Cyber Sirens in first wave.

Powering up additional waves...

First wave is a go.

ALL defense systems have been override granted and are now online.

Ship systems override accepted.

Activating Full Lockdown.

Combine forces are to remain stationary unless orders are given that are able to bypass security systems. Permission granted to listen to said individuals.

Purging will commence shortly.

Scrubbing compromised elements now...

That was when you heard some scattered gunfire as abruptly a few combine forces were lit up.

So you stuck where you first heard where he was at and eventually you do indeed get there and find that there was in fact copies of him.

And that apparently he has things well in hand neither was he happy to run into you.

Old Mikan preferred worshiping Mortha a goddess of death and Gom a strange god whom you never quite understood. Knowing it had to do with forgetting, honor, sacrifice, war, duty, and nobodies.

Your pretty sure that last one was a cult as you never seen any holy buildings for him unlike the goddess.

You decide to go look around to find this 'Gom' which took you ages. You checked out the evil, good, major, lesser, and even the goddamn forgotten/dead section STILL couldn't find the son of a bitch.

After go over many areas of the 'representive' district the smallest as its meant to get their foot in the door so to speak you FINALLY find a shrine of his...after passing it god knows how many times. You pretty sure you passed it like 5 times before realizing it was there.

Once you found it though and approached you noticed the guards were looking at you darkly as you approached and entered.

That was when you heard a voice.

"You don't belong here Fated One for here is for the forgotten, faceless, and masses. Why dare you enter here Chosen One? This place should hold no interest for your kind nor are we an enemy."

What do?

Rolled 50 (1d100)

Things worth noting.

The guards were extremely nondescript if they hadn't been staring at you so full of hostile intent you never would of noticed.

The shrine itself is VERY humble and nondescript also just being so goddamn plain it hurt. Which REALLY didn't make sense for a deity especially given its a holy place in an area that is SUPPOSE to attract attention(potential worshippers).

Yet this place never seemed to bother. Even more strangely upon entering it was the same. Nothing really changed and there appeared to no one until you took a closer look.

You realized as a matter of fact there WAS someone there...many someones. As in the place was choked full of crowds which seem oddly easy to not notice. It was such that would even make a popular god compare and a greater one jealous.

You got to see Mortha's shrine who is a goddess of death. Unsurprisingly the place was a shrine crafted of ivory bone and light burning of incense. Your pretty sure you saw some undead but aren't entirely sure.

Either way its a very nice place and quite clean as you enter the shrine. Inside the lights are burnt low and the shadows flicker across the carefully made pieces of art making it become something...more.

Inside the place was heavy in shadow and smoke from incense yet strangely it felt oddly soft and comforting. It did not have the nasty smokey texture you are well acquainted with.

Good guys?

Good guys die.

In fact, Good Guys are possibly an even greater menace to the innocent than bad guys. Even ignoring the so called Paladin's and their "justice"

One and Twenty Hundred Thousand souls put their faith in the Commander. One and Twenty Hundred Thousand died in agony their works and loved ones destroyed before their eyes.

And where is their commander now?

His wife and closest friends are genocidal maniacs responsible for a river of blood on their hands, who willingly sent the forces of hell to destroy a bastion of peace and the lives of a tenth of a million people.

For one man.

Where is he now? Did he accept his shame and continues to fight a fruitless battle in a vain attempt to make up for those he failed? Or give in to the darkness to enjoy the one sole joy he has in life of wife and child and friend, despite how evil they became?

Compared to some of the evil civs we were with they were saints.

And now they lie with the other good/neutral civs.
>>
>>39208815
Out of all the civs I been in the farmers and space men are the closes good guys we tried for, in post apoc. Hax was getting there.

We had attend for good for other civ, but got blinded by other wants.

The Splicers were neutral, we dealt with bad and good.
>>
>>39208962
Bad things like what? I can't think of anything horrific they did.

We also went out of our way to help bandits who were under attack from zombies in their base when we could have just left.

Splicers were pretty good guys.

In any event good or neutral, they're dead.

Don't forget Fantastic Civ where we explicitly did whatever we could to help as many people as we can.

Other good civs were Adero and Grow Corp,
>>

Yeah, but one action doesn't make a good guy.

They were good people, not good guys.

Not the general.

>>39209050
Our fantasy civ ... I'm not sure what to think of it. I know attentions for good made the path, but not sure what to rank it. We did betray a friend's trust and all.

I thought Adero was the space men. As for grow corp ... they were good to those tribes men and then the bandits ... those fuckers.
>>
>>39209146
>We dealt with, as in make deals with bad people.
So did Adero, Space men, Farmers and Hax.

All of them traded with some really bad people (except the spacemen who died too young to trade with much anyone)

Hell, the Guanyin made a deal with the devil by willingly accepting the Paladins.

Good people is the closest thing to good guys we can get. Otherwise you can't call any of them good

Especially in a world where you're more likely to encounter bad people than good.

And you can hardly say we betrayed a friends trust.

As for teh Fantasy civ? Friends trust?

Which friends?

If you mean Valeria, you forget she was indeed an evil scheming overlord bent on destroying us.

If you mean the vampires they were also out to destroy us, and we only betrayed them after they literally started marching to kill us.

I luv it when players hate on the bandits.

because they really should.

In any case you decide to medititate in the shrine...which went okay you guess. If it wasn't the oddly creepy atmosphere anyway.

Eventually you finished up and went to a talk to a priestess of the goddess. Who oddly enough despite being dressed in black cloth and feathers the design of it included pale white bone(including a skull mask) and even ivory and pearl jewelry.

"Mortha is a goddess of death. You serve her in life and death then you'll acquire her blessings."

>>39208798
"I see that you have meditated here child that will do you little good without knowing still mind or a death trance."

"In any case your curious of our faith aren't you hm? Well there are other gods and goddesses of death so what do we offer that they don't!"

"Mortha holy is her name is a goddess of death who uses undead and necromancy. She helps in dying and in exchange for offering your body, mind, soul, or prayer to Mortha she will grant certain blessings. Most who worship Mortha hope for a good death."

"For you see Mortha is a caring goddess who cares for those who die by bring them to peace unlike those other gods however she does not believe in harmful necromancy or forceful animation of the dead. Nor does she care for their actions in living. If those come to take her charges she will battle them viciously no matter if they are after a war criminal or a nobody."

"To Mortha a body is a merely a vessel and upon death it may serve other uses once the soul escapes. The soul meanwhile she offers it peace, salvation, and a good rest."

"She is one who wishes for more among her followers and is known to take a shine to many. To Mortha everyone deserves the peace that SHOULD be death. For life is but a briefest spark to a endless void."

What do?
>>
>>39209327
The sad thing is we knew how to help them, but they refused.

We offered to get their young something to do since the Prophet noticed it, but they flat out said "no don't touch our young"

>>39209440
Actually, I don't really hate the bandits.

I mean, I'll always vote to attack them and wipe them out because they are bandits.

But I don't hate them, in fact I like them, at least they're honest.

One of my favorite NPC civs are bandits, those polite guys from Ashad. Next to the Chaka they were the nicest guys we ever saw.
>>
>>39209440
Hmmm, Mortha. I dunno.

If we ever do learn necromancy or undead manipulatoin we kind of have to be good at forceful animations of Republic troopers, we encountered the problem of being too slow in the simulation against their cloned troops.

Dammit, Gom is clearly not the right one, but Mortha isn't exactly appealing either. Although it's nice to know about her.

We need someone to fit our interests. . .and to get to the Top of the Combine we need to be good at what a soldier is for.

Killing.
>>
>>39209256
What bad people did Hax trade with? Unless you mean selling to the sun company. The combine, are ass holes, but not bad people.

No the space people helped a town on a bandit raid and then died of lacking water. So I don't know why you brought them up.

The farmers tried to bring a family back together. Yeah ... I really don't know why you hate the Paladins. They helped our Gears when they went mad. Granted they are ass holes, but they had a reason to believe our psi would make worse problems come up.

>Otherwise you can't call any of them good
That's because they weren't. The reason we are probably never going to be a good civ is because I doubt we easily can. We try and then the players quickly get disheartened.

>Especially in a world where you're more likely to encounter bad people than good.
I never said being a good guy was easy and yes the odds are not in there favor.

Nope, we made val that way with our actions. We thrown the first stone and it went down hill from there.

Na the vamps got mad because I we didn't ask/tell them before we summoned the holy people. Plus the rude beaver we have shown as a group.

>>39209317
I have mixed feelings when it comes to that civ. It's not easy to define somethings alignment when clouded feelings get in the way. Plus there's more than that to stack into that.
>>
Damn. Gom and Mortha are such nice gods with really good interests I agree with. And they're some of the first gods Genie has ever extrapolated on which is another cool factor.

But they're not exactly helpful in our current case.

We need forceful animation/infection for our undead troopers against the Republic forces.

Although, I do wonder if its possible we convince our men to worship her so that when they die they rise up again willingly to fight one last time.
>>
>>39209719
>What bad people did Hax trade with?
Pirates.

You know, space bandits?

>So I don't know why you brought them up.
Like I said, they were too young to do much any encountering.

>I really don't know why you hate the Paladins.
You seem to have forgotten they were about to smite us entirely for reasons we had no control over despite not having wronged anyone and literally having stayed to ourselves farming.

Paladins have played a hand in the death of at least 3 civs. Adero, the Guanyin,

>We try and then the players quickly get disheartened.
No, we usually just die.

>Nope, we made val that way with our actions. We thrown the first stone and it went down hill from there.
Wrong. She was like that even before we met her, or did you forget?

In any event, she's still a mass murderer. You can hardly fault us for betraying an equivocal hitler.

>Na the vamps got mad because I we didn't ask/tell them before we summoned the holy people. Plus the rude beaver we have shown as a group.
I highly contest that, I was specific in being as polite as possible and offering anything and everything we could at every opportunity.

As for the holy people we were DYING. Had we not summoned them we'd of been undead food.

Furthermore they could have helped us but they were entirely apathetic to us.

For the cordiality of hosting us as guest, we owed them the same. But not trust, they refused to accept our trust or help us on the brink of death, so they didn't deserve our trust. And they showed their true colors when they took up arms against us.

Abigail moved on, and found many religions, many faiths, some of them interesting, others of them boring, and some she'd rather not remember.

But after a full days of searching and looking, she had yet to find her calling. Dissasisified and frustrated, she decided to take a break and find a bite to eat.

That's when she found what looked like a big bar or restaurant with all sorts of motorbikes, fighters, and strange vehicles parked outside. And she knew right away there was something going on from what sounded like a battle and men yelling and fighting inside. Was the Republic attacking here?

She managed somehow to sneak in, and at first she did think she was right. Big angry men dressed in ever manner of leather, armor, spikes, and metal were fighting and screaming and hitting each other left and right. But this was no battle, this was a bar fight. Chairs smashed over heads, glasses crashed into peoples faces, and blood sprinkled every corner.

Every now and then someone would be kicked out or thrown from the hodgepodge, and land with their backs against a counter, where they'd use what strength they had to pull themselves up enough to lift a mug to their face and drown it all down, and then several more mugfuls after that. As if filled with a new vigor, they didn't bother dropping the mug as they rushed back into the endless fight.

Moving on, nobody seeming to notice her she saw that even while people where fighting there was a calm area in the middle, but that was hardly calm at all. It was a ring, a fighting pit, where the few who weren't fighting were watching the center, although they still were bruised and bleeding even as they drank another mug of beer

She realized what she saw in the center, two of the biggest, meaning guys in the entire bar were duking it out, crashing their fists into each other's face, elbos, knees, legs, no holds where barred. The two giants slugged it out, and it was clear either of them could have taken on most of the men around

Abigail was mezmerized at the men as they fought, not only where they the biggest but they seemed to be one of the better armed and armored. She realized some of them were high ranking Combine men! Even though both had great armor and arms both were easily hurting each other anyway, cracking the very floor and walls of the pit as they fought. Not only each other but they had to fend from random things being thrown into the ring from chairs to stones to even gunfire and grenades. Sometimes men clambered over the walls to engaged either of them, before with a swing of a fist they knocked em back the other side.

Still watching, she managed to sneak back to the bar and talk to the bartender, the only man who seemed to not be fighting. Bartenders where usually good talkers, she knew from Mikan.

"What is this place?"

"What the fuck, how'd you get in 'ere kid?"

"Does it matter? I'm in here now."

"Dumbass kid gonna get himself killed. Where are you you ask? Didn't you read the sign?"

"What sign?"

". . .Motherfucker, did they take down the sign as a weapon again, fuck. Bah anyway, you're in one of Shredda's rest pits."

"Rest . . .pit?"

"The closest thing to a church you'll get any of this lot in."

"Who's 'Shredda'?"

"Who'se Shredda? Who'se Shredda he says. I'll tell ya who Shredda is. 'E's only da biggest and baddest son of a bitch who ever lived."

"Really? What's so special about him?"

"All those other gods, they been that way since they always was. But Shredda? He weren't always a god.

"Shredda was one just a punk like you and me. Nah, less than that he was just a kid like you. And yet at that age he was already becoming something of a killer for hire. By the time he was a man he had one of the biggest bounties on his head in the known galaxy.

But that's not how he became a god. Nobody knows how he did it, or what he found. Many think he just up and did it out of his own will. But whatever happened now suddenly he wasn't limited by being a mortal.

No, he was doing impossible things. Things only a god could've done. There'd be his men about to fight and die in one part of the galaxy but at the last minute they'd call to him and he'd show up. And then a day later on the other arm the same thing'd be happening to his fighters and then he'd show up there too. They say he punches holes into hell itself and travels there, fighting his way through hordes of demons to move around the galaxy very quickly somehow.

Armies routed, planets burned, systems sacked, and all him. Just him and no fleets of fighters or armada's of ships."

"Sounds pretty far fetched"

"I used to say the same thing too. Until I visited some of those asteroid fields of the planets destroyed long ago, now a safe haven for pirates, bandits and mercs and freelancers. His type of people.

That's the type of people he gets you know? Guys who know how to fight for a living and live by fighting, who don't give up and keep on hitting and hitting harder not weaker.

To him the greatest follower doesn't just send him prayers and sit on their ass waiting for help to fall into their lap. No, they gotta fight, scrap, and beat their way through their problems, and he gives him their help. The only thing he'll never abide by is weakness.

What's weakness you might ask?

>con't
>>
>>39211844
There's always gonna be some big bad motherfucker out there, meaner, tougher, harder and stronger than us. That ain't being weak. It ain't weakness to say a human soldiers outgunned outmanned or outmatched.

Weakness is letting em hit you and never getting back up. Strength comes from getting back up, and hitting harder and not stopping until whatever fool that hit ya is dead and gone.

Shredda knows that if he did it, then you can do it too. He's been in your place before. If you wanna give up fine, he'll leave you behind all on your own. But if you keep on fighting and don't quit, if you set yourself to getting stronger by any means, he'll be there to help you. And you ain't gonna be alone. He wasn't alone either, he had a gang. Was his family.

He cares for warriors just like he cares for a family. And that's what we are. All of us here? We might look like we're trying to kill each other. . .and we are trying to kill each other. But we'd never in a million years betray another brother. We're brothers. . .and a couple of sisters. One big damn angry family.

I bet you're still wondering why should we follow this guy or god? even if he's real whats gonna happen, you're still gonna die.

But see, here's the best part of it.

He takes in all kinds. The good, the bad, the poor and rich, the crippled and the healthy, if you're the lowest of the low or the highest nobleman there is. He don't care.

He does care about getting only the toughest, bravest assholes looking for guts and glory there is. Because you see, these resting pitts? They're only where we wait for him to pick up the best among us. When the best of the best are chosen and we wait for him to show, and he does. Where does he come from?

His real shindig is in hell itself.

Built it there, and called in the Battlehall.

There in the deepest pits is an endless fight to defend the hall from demons where even the toughest and the meanest can find a real challenge and glory. As they defend the place from the endless forces of hell, they return back to the eating halls where they feast and heal while attended by the hottest babes and chicks attending to your every want and dream until they're sick of eating and fucking and pleasure they get back out there and fight. And sometimes, when Shredda feels like it, he takes the whole gang on their bikes and rides forth back into the real world to go help his followers wherever they need him.

And unlike other gods, he doesn't have a ten page requirement lies. EVERYONE is allowed down there in hell, and there's no special rules or regulations or needs. There is only one rule, and you never surrender.

This is why he wants his followers to be only the best and the bravest, because no matter the odds you face, no matter what comes at you, if you really mean to follow him, it ain't gonna compare to the fighting you'd be doing down there in Battlehal.

If you're in need of a hand from a fist fight with someone to a battle, all you need to do is call on him and do one thing: keep fighting. As long as you never give up, he doesn't abandon you. Because he needs his followers to be as tough as you can be and gain as much experience killing by any means there is.

And only the best."

This is mostly due to having so many kinds of peoples and the godly warfare over followers. That along with new gods and gods who come in from elsewhere due to planar connections. Outsiders aren't the only thing who come from elsewhere. That isn't including the can of worms that is alien faiths.

So you see its sorta tough. Not easy coming up with pantheons from scratch.

Luckily the whole spirits and deities for everything is easy problem is the pantheon or Sole Deity bullshit.
