What was it, again? There's nothing to struggle against here. That would make things too simple, you suppose. Instead, you've found yourself coming to in an absolute void: no light, no sound, no tactile sensation. Nothing. You can't even feel your own heartbeat. Are you dead? No, that can't be it. If you were dead, how could you wonder if you were dead? That would make no sense at all. Gradually, your mind begins to make some sense of your new surroundings, or rather lack thereof. Below your feet there is the faint outline of a path, and you realize you stand at something of a crossroads. You can head forward, in the direction you've been facing since becoming aware again, or backward. You can also head to one side or the other, but you suppose that here it matters little whether it's right or left. You have no idea what would happen if you stepped off the path entirely, but it doesn't seem like such a great idea. At least, not until you know more about this place.>Forward>Backward>Sideways>Other?
>>39158130>Other?Reach out, is there anyone else here?
>>39158130Go UP. Get a birds eye view of each paths destination.
>>39158130>ForwardStraight and true, follow our convictions from the past into the future. Do not be turned aside.
So we asura now? We go forward no matter what happens to us?
>>39158130Alright, forward it is.
>>39158327These places tend to run on sybolism as oppose to logic.
>>39158130Well, doubting yourself probably isn't going to get you anywhere at all. You're facing forward already, so that's the way you're gonna go.As you walk things change. Slowly, but surely, you regain the feeling in your extremities. Your body is heavy, but you ignore the sluggish feeling and press onward. The darkness around you lifts a little, and you begin to see the path ahead of you more clearly. This has to be the right way to go, so your pace quickens. Your heartbeat faint at first, grows louder and steadier as you break into a run.In the back of your mind, you get the feeling that someone is quietly pleased at this turn of events.A blindingly bright light engulfs you, and you hear a scream.(1/2)
>>39158628You awake with a start. Although your vision is swimming, you can tell the room around you has been darkened. Your whole body feels like one big ache, and your breath comes in raspy, struggling gasps. But unlike before, you can immediately tell that you're alive. A familiar presence to your side draws your attention: a head of blonde hair rests on the side of your bed where Carya is asleep on her arms. How long have you been here, exactly? What the hell happened to you? Where was that place?>Go back to sleep>Wake Carya up, she's probably been waiting on you.>Try to get up?>Other?
>>39158628Just once I'd like to pass out without having some ambiguous psychic presence observe us. Dom gets just no privacy at all, does he?
>>39158741What made you think "privacy" exists beyond a certain point of newtype awareness?
>>39158740>Wake Carya up, she's probably been waiting on you.>Other?"Did you hear that scream?"
>>39158740>Other?As quietly as we can so as not to wake Carya, call out for ALICE to ask how long we've been out.
>>39158765Think we could hang out the newtype version of a sock on the door knob somehow?
>>39158740>>Try to get up?
>>39158803When the bed's a rocking, EVERYBODY on the ship knows.
>>39158740>Wake Carya up, she's probably been waiting on you.
>>39158740Gently stroke her hair until she wakes up."Morning, here for my checkup?"
>>39158740>Wake Carya up, she's probably been waiting on you
>>39158740Though your hand feels like it's made of lead, you manage to gently nudge the side of Carya's head. When she stirs she can't help but give you a tired smile as she fits the patch back over her glass eye.“Who was screaming?” you ask, your voice almost too hoarse to spit the words out.Carya's good eye looks you over, as if making sure what she was seeing was real. “Sorry 'bout that. You were clinically dead for a bit there. Had us all worried.”“How long?”“Three days,” she replies quietly. “Your heart stopped not long after you stepped out of the cockpit. What the hell happened?”Ah, so that's where this is: you're in the infirmary, not your room. Makes sense. You can tell Carya and her sister are nervous about your condition, and so you manage a few more words to try and explain the absurd things you saw during your last fight. “Bio-sensor... crazy shit... Gato's ghost... yeah, hard to... believe...” you conclude as you see her stare at you exactly like you'd expect, given that you literally just told her you saw a ghost. “Are you sure?”You nod. “Positive.”Carya shifts uneasily in her chair, then stretches out a little. You get the impression she's been slumped over this bed a lot lately. “I take it you have a lot of questions. It's been a long three days, but I'll try and answer some of them.”>Write-in
>>39159278How's everyone else? What's happened to the Titans fleet? Were Karaba and the others successful in their operations? What's Axis doing?
>>39159278How are the others doing, what happened after we passed out, what's the situation over at Gryps, what's new around the Earth sphere, sorry for having you worried?
>>39159278"Can i get a glass of water first? Intravenous drip sucks ass for the throat"
>>39159278>Write-in"How's everyone else doing?""What's the status on Gryps? Did Karaba successfully take it?"
>>39159278Did we capture anything?
>>39159278"I'm in trouble, aren't I?"
>>39159278How is everybody doing? Did this happen to anyone else?
I wonder how many people awoke as newtypes from all the ones around us reaction to us dying.
>>39159278Alright, starting the writing soon. Could be a long-ish update.
>>39159278“How... you?” you croak.Carya nods thoughtfully. “Better now. We've been sleeping a lot after over-using the biosensor... though not as much as you did, obviosuly.”“And... others?”Your conversation partner gets to her feet to grab you a glass of water, while Catrina replies this time. “They were pretty fucked up at first, but they all feel better now. No serious injuries or deaths.”She returns, putting the glass to your lips and letting you sip a little bit. It eases the burning, itching sensation in your throat, making it easier to ask Carya and Catrina about what happened with the two fleets that had been fighting. “The Titans fleet is almost out of pilots, and they suffered pretty severe casualties,” Carya informs you as you sip at the water. “The Zeon fleet is even worse off. Their pilots fought to the last man, and their battleship ended up a gutted wreck. But one of the Musais surrendered with heavy casualties, and there were a few escape pods here and there. Both sides are in bad shape.”“And Karaba?”Catrina nods. “They made good. Papsmear came after us, just as planned, so Gryps is ours. Nearly lost Matsunaga, but they say he'll recover.”“As for what they were doing there,” Carya adds, “we've got some ex-Anaheim folks working that out. And before you ask, Cima's forces managed a good strike against the Titans supply lines. Even captured some raw materials. So all in all, the operation was a massive success!” That's good to hear. At least after coming this far you haven't woken up to find out that Paptimus didn't take the bait.“Bet he's pissed...”Catrina nods enthusiastically. “Hope so. Prick.”You sigh, settling back into your pillow. “Sorry to worry you all.”“It's nothing,” Carya reassures you. “I think we're all just happy you're alive.”“Still, try not to talk to the dead and almost die next time, right? Not good for my heart.”(1/2)
>>39159959Was it talking to gato or the whole thing with Crannia that made our heart stop?
>>39159959“And Mars?” you ask, frowning at the notion that the Mars Zeon faction's had three days to prepare that you missed out on. Little differences like this could well translate to massive differences in the final confrontation.Carya shrugs. “ALICE told me Axis is still on a course for Earth. If they're gonna change course, it won't happen until the last minute.”>Try and get up?>Ask the sisters to send someone down here (who?)>Get some rest.>Ask another question?>Other?
>>39160046>Get some rest.Convalesce for a little longer, we'll be up and rocking after that.
>>39160046>Ask the sisters to send someone down here (who?)Artesia. Dom is a patient that just woke up, so it's a standard thing to do. I imagine she'll also have some words with him.
am i the only one who thinks things are going too easy for us the titans have been total pushovers and even scirocco lost his stronghold, i was expecting the karaba fleet to fail at least
>>39160046>Get some rest.>OtherAsk the sisters to let everyone else know that we've woken up and we're okay for now.
>>39160046>>Ask another question? How did the various polititian types react to the nuclear machine gun being made public? How did the Titans factions react to Basik Ohm dying? How much of his forces got absorbed by whom?
>>39160046>>Ask the sisters to send someone down here (who?)Artesia
>>39160018It was the whole fight, right from the start where you were nearly shot in the back and Gato showed up. From that point on it was a trade-off: extra success from having tapped the potential of the biosensor in exchange for increased strain. And at the end, a combination of factors made it so that reaching out to Carrina through psychic abilities made sense, which was the final straw that determined how much mental strain you'd have to deal with once the battle ended.
>>39160123I can't wait for the psychoframe equipped suits to be finished. Those put a lot less strain on the pilots to my knowledge.
>>39160101>scirocco lost his strongholdONE of his "strongholds". And now he's pissed. Titans has been dying a slow death since Libot.
>>39160046>Ask another question? How did the Titans factions react to Basik Ohm dying? How much of his forces got absorbed by whom?Did we capture anything?
>>39160101Titans leadership has been systematically disassembled from the top down in a series of rapid and bloody deaths. It just seems easy facing them. The others are going to be a problem, not to mention we have the mars faction to eventually get into a hoe down with. Nothing about our situation is "easy". We just have a reprieve before more shit hits the fan.
>>39160160im just saying its difficult to see them as a credible threat when thay have lost every single battle
>>39160101In canon, the Titans started leaning on the Republic of Zeon once Federation support started drying up, even moved their base to A Ba Qui. Now the Federation has more or less cut them off and the Republic is effectively at war with them. Which reminds me>>39160046How did the Federation react to Republic troops shooting at the Titans? I mean, it technically is an act of war.
>>39160227They're basically privateers at this point, so EFSF regular turned a blind eye.
On a side note my internet's been acting up, so if I disappear and don't come back tonight that's probably what happened.
Here's an important question, how close is the war against the Titans to being finished? I mean they only have 2 viable leaders, and one is actually reasonable to deal with.I wonder if the Titans lose their Federation support then that's the end to the current conflict? Can't turn to Zeon for support.>>39160469Thanks for the warning.
>>39160160Honestly I'm surprised we manage to pull one over on him. Did he really underestimate dom that much?
>>39160532>Honestly I'm surprised we manage to pull one over on him. Did he really underestimate dom that much?He didn't have much choice really. He undoubtedly realized that the threat was real, and if Bask had fought off his attackers that would have basically been game over.
>>39160532There are like 6 or 7 independent sides to the conflict, it's easy to get back stabbed by one.He was probably expecting to fight Dom and the Titans at Six Shooter, not getting backstabbed.
>>39160532Scirocco is gonna need some kind of victory soon cause i would hate to see him jobb like the rest of the titans have so far
>>39160520I wonder if we could get the other Titan guy (forgot the name) to at least call a ceasefire between his faction and Karaba.Maybe we should get him in on the whole "Scirocco is from Jupiter" thing.
>>39160606We already did that. The fact that Scirocco is from jupiter thing.
>>39160606he already knows the man from jupiter is from Jupiter, also we cant prove that Jupiter is up to no good based only on the ramblings of an old man and one guy from jupiter being kinda shifty
>>39160606>Kamuna TachibanaWe did.
We just took out six-shooter right?
>>39160606Yeah, I agree >>39160577If I were him, I would withdraw from the earthsphere and come back stronger. Too many powerful sides allied together. Or make a deal with Axis Zeon.
>>39160606Or just let his faction sweep what's left in the Garden. Salvage a bit of good PR for his faction that they won't get lumped with Bask and Jamitov once the Federation Assembly get on their case.
>>39160708Yeap, accidental crit destroyed too much.
>>39160046“What's been the response by Titans?” you ask quietly, your voice having recovered after the glass of water. Carya sets a data slate next to your bedside. “The full rundown's here, but the short of it is most of Om's faction either joined Karaba or surrendered to the EFSF.”“That's good. Enough of them have died already.”“You want some rest?” she asks. You shake your head. “Could you send Artesia down here? And let everyone know I'm okay, and they don't have to worry at all.”Carya nods, smiling down at you. “Will do.”It takes a few minutes for Artesia to arrive, which gives you an opportunity to peruse the information Carya left for you. Titans forces have surrendered to the EFSF, including a lot of their remaining test teams. Some have managed to join up with the Nobleman's forces at Pezun, which remain under the Titans banner, while a few ships have handed themselves over to Karaba. The remaining Titans and Zeon vessels at Six Shooter have surrendered to your own forces, and are currently following the Nagato until they can get proper repairs. You do notice one absence: no word yet of any teams assigned to produce or test psychoframe technology have surrendered yet. A knock on the doorframe to your room signals that Artesia's arrived, and she looks even more tired than Carya and Catrina did. Probably because she's been overseeing the treatment of the casualties among both of the surrendered forces.“What's up?” she asks, brushing some of her messy hair out of her bloodshot eyes. >Why did you want her to come down here, again?
>>39160724>Or make a deal with Axis Zeon. That's the most likely thing to happen.Maybe he'll even get some backup from Jupiter this time. We Crossbone now.
>>39160758Well I figured you might want to look at me since I am awake. You know proper medical procedure. However you look like you could use a break.
>>39160758Give it to us straight, doc. When will we be able to get back to flying?
>>39160758When will I be able to fight again?
>>39160577Just to point out, if you ever lost any of your battles (and I mean really lost, not just being forced to retreat), you'd be dead, and the quest would basically be over. You may not know, because you can't see what happens on my end of the process, but you very nearly died last session.
>>39160758>Why did you want her to come down here, again?Because she's our doctor, and the world's foremost (ethical) expert on Newtype medicine, so she'd be the one to ask about how much we damaged ourselves and any long-term repercussions it's going to have. But given how tired she looks, we're fine with her just giving us the executive summary. Feel kind of guilty sleeping for the past three days when she's clearly spent the whole time awake.
>>39160830>you very nearly died last session.I can believe that.
>>39160758>Why did you want her to come down here, again?Just to reassure her that Dom is indeed alive and doing well. And the circumstances of what afflicted him may need a thorough examination, and since she's pretty much the only expert we have on Newtype recovery, seems like a good idea to check up on that end too. Also, I get the feeling she'll want to vent a bit. Pray that it'll be a jovial exchange at least.>"What did I say to you about trying to not die, Dom?"
>>39160830Thank god for bio-sensor tomfuckary
>>39160830Hey KoH, is there any way to gauge the Federation's support for the Titans? Are they on the verge of losing it? How do the Feds feel about the current conflict?
>>39160953the titans lost goverment support after Dakar
>>39160918That was half the reason you nearly died. Lots of death, lots of anger. Emotions riding high, dead people dropping in on you, and your own ability didn't help.
>>39160953They've lost it now, and the Federation Assembly isn't happy about having ANY factions in the military with their own hierarchy. They feel like they're losing control of the situation.
>>39161011Should probably look at installing an emergency shut off, or at least an inbuilt dampener that activates on certain input thresholds/manual use.
>>39161041Do they like us?
>>39161051I was honestly expecting the beam shield to fuck up, instead of the biosensor. I guess the psycoframe is going to be even more dangerous now.Should we rename the new Viola the Unicorn?
>>39161110only if we want POSSIBILTY
>>39161110Isn't the psychoframe safer then the biosensor?
>>39161041Thanks. But truth be told, they lost control once they let the Titans loose. Can the Londo Bell alliance negotiate with the Federation to be officially recognized as the premier earthsphere peacekeeping/defense force?Basically at what point can we start making demands from the Federation? I'm thinking diplomacy here.
>>39161177Even then, if it has feeback that can kill the operator, it would be foolish not to at least attempt to cover for it.
>>39161195>I'm thinking diplomacy here.I thought that was left up to Kowen and Blex? Dom can't be left doing everything everywhere every time. And somehow ending up doing well on that front too.
>>39161041>They feel like they're losing control of the situation. They still have any control left to lose?>>39161080>Do they like us?If I remember everything right, we have lots of public support and don't actually answer to anyone at all.So I guess they tolerate us and would jump at the chance to have any sort of leverage on our group.
>>39161195>we start making demands from the FederationLet's not and why would we do that? That Kowen job.
>>39161279>>39161292Ok, thanks. I guess we should talk to Kowen later and see how are things looking from the top level. But really, I would be ecstatic if we can get all the newtype labs closed down now that the Titans are non-existent now.
>>39161289Sucks for them we are friends with the Vist foundation.
>>39161339Just watch, Papsmear will get to them before. And then we'll run into a Zeon artificial Newtype fleet.
>>39161289>If I remember everything right, we have lots of public support and don't actually answer to anyone at all.Yup, the only government that actually has anything resembling control over us is the RoZ, and only because they are supplying a part of Londo Bell so we have to keep them somewhat happy or there will be No Zakus for us.
>>39161339wont be suprised if we have to fight Kamille, Four, Rosamia and possibly more numbers from the murasame labs
>>39161339>can get all the newtype labs closed downWill the inhumane ones maybe but not all of them reality.
>>39160758“I went on a hell of a trip,” you chuckle darkly. For her part Artesia grins and pulls up a chair. “Yeah, I heard something like that. What happened?”You rack your brain for a way to explain what happened in your cockpit three days ago while Artesia produces various medical instruments from a nearby cabinet. A cuff to check your blood pressure, a little stethoscope, an opthalmoscope, and something pointy you don't recognize immediately. “Well,” you begin, “I think I saw a ghost.”Artesia nods as she presses the stethoscope to your chest. “Breathe in. Good. Breathe out. Whose ghost?”If she thinks you're crazy, she's doing a damn good job hiding it as she wraps a cuff around your arm. “Anavel Gato.”“The one you killed?”“The same.”You briefly explain to Artesia the circumstances surrounding the event: you failed to pick up on a wire-guided remote weapon you weren't expecting, and he interrupted you. She seems interested in the moment where it felt to you as if time had stopped, but much less so in the topic of conversation. Figures Artesia'd probably have expected some form of banter about ideals whenever Gato was concerned. “So am I just going nuts?” you finally ask.Artesia shrugs. “Probably. This just isn't necessarily evidence of it. I've seen similar phenomena before.”She's very careful not to tell you where or when, but you assume it had to do with Amuro Ray's time aboard the White Base. >Ask Artesia something personal?>Have her send someone else down here?>Try to get up and get to work?>Just go to sleep already. You nearly died, after all.
>>39161463>Do you think the ghosts of the past can haunt the living? And after that:>Just go to sleep already. You nearly died, after all.
>>39161463>Just go to sleep already. You nearly died, after all.Thank her for coming to check on us then get some sleep. We can spare another eight hours of inactivity.
>>39161463>Have her send someone else down here?Karen, so we can ask her about the strategic situation concerning the Londo Bell alliance, and how Kowen and the other admirals have been handling the Earth Sphere and the Colonies.
>>39161463>>Just go to sleep already. You nearly died, after all.
>>39161463>>Try to get up and get to work?
>>39161463>How is she holding up?>Try to get up and get to work?
>>39161463>>Ask Artesia something personal?
>>39161389>>39161435I'm pretty sure Axis Zeon hates newtypes. And I guess Papsmear has to get his harem somehow.>>39161534Supporting.
>>39161463All good? No chance of ending up being a vegetable after a while?>Just go to sleep already. You nearly died, after all.And have Artesia get some rest too.
>>39161463>Try to get up and get to work?Or at least ask her when she thinks we'd be able to get up. If we have some time off between this and the next deployment, we could rest.Or at least ask how is the rest of the team. Did someone else report something similar to this?
>>39161612wonder if Glemy has booted Bernini out of office yet?
>>39161612True, but these are former Federation/Titan newtypes. And Panini's been messing with brainwashing, so he might just make them entirely suicidal and launch them to wreck as much havoc as he can.Papsmear gets to keep the more stable ones. Poor Four.>>39161660Nah, more likely we'll have to deal with another Zeon vs Zeon conflict.
>>39161463Considering all the odd stuff that we have been through do you really think ghosts are that far out there? It came about do to an interaction with the biosensor.
>>39161734i think there are two regarding glemy and Bernini:>Glemy like in canon plots against Bernini in secret hiding his abition behind the mask of a fool and will most likely be more succesfull than in canon because who cares about bernini>Bernini plan all along was to put Glemy in power due to him being a Gihrens clone/bastard, note that this is asuming Bernini is a hardcore Gihren loyalist
>>39161858>two possibiltiesgod im such a dummy
I'm been doing some thinking:The main threat of Axis Zeon besides the massive asteroid is their significant manpower and material advantage. Despite the power of the psychoframe, we'll just be overwhelmed with numbers and firepower.Since the GDP was never deleted in this timeline (if think), we should build some Dendrobiums for our Liliums. Just think, the control of the psychoframe combined with the firepower of the Dendrobium, which is designed to take out fleets. This would be more feasible once we can get official Federation support.
>>39161889>Since the GDP was never deleted in this timelineIt was not.> Dendrobiums for our LiliumsThis.
>>39161889>we'll just be overwhelmed with numbers and firepower. Not really, the EFSF is totally intact and plans to stay that way.
>>39161463Sorry I'm late, internet shat itself again. Roll 3d10 to force yourself out of bed, DC is an 8.Because I want it to sort of be possible, but you're NOT in very good shape. A crit fail means you make your condition worse.
>>39161889I hope we don't end up forgetting our other teams and gruntsWe supposedly have captured a Sentinel Gundam, we could use it to make something for the second team and update the proto-Qubeleys the Purus are flying. And I'm sure Nina would love if we got her something to work on.

Rolled 10, 5, 1 = 16 (3d10)>>39162046

Rolled 1, 7, 5 = 13 (3d10)>>39162046
>>39162076I guess we're getting out of bed.
Rolled 8, 6, 7 = 21 (3d10)>>39162046Right, rolling then.>>39161889Our mobile suit teams also have a real problem with combat longevity against forces that, more often than not, outnumber us.The last battle proved that point when victory cost our Ikebanas an arm and a leg, and still had to keep on trucking afterwards. Same with our secondary teams. It might be high time to utilize at least the same Lilium frames for the sake of parts interchangeability plus flexible weapon packs. Victory/Impulse style parts swapping can be handled after that.
Rolled 7, 1, 4 = 12 (3d10)>>39162046I thought the vote was a tie, but w/e
>>39162076Interesting. I had not considered this possibility. Now I need to figure out what a crit success for getting out of bed looks like.
>>39162059>>39162062>>39162076Holy shit.A crit success?
>>39162108It turns out we were in better shape then people thought?

Rolled 9, 5, 4 = 18 (3d10)>>39161889>This would be more feasible once we can get official Federation support.Best we can expect from they is a support fleet or two of grunts.I don't think they'll pay for Dendrobiums, but we have Space gold leftover. Maybe they won't disturb us if we openly contract Anaheim to build.Speaking of which, we're going to have to share more tech with the Feds if we don't want them slaughtered.>>39162076Nope, we good now.
>>39162108Stand up and backflip off the bed
>>39162097Some day we'll have mass production spec Liliums for the other teams and grunts.I think we should call them LMs.
>>39162125>Where was the EFSF during char's counterattack, when Char was dropping asteroids on Earth. It was severely weakened as a result of the Gryphs conflicat and the first neo zeon war, and what forces the did have left were woefully out of position. Had Char tried a sustained campaign he would have been swiftly overwhelmed by EFSF regulars.
>>39162167>Speaking of which, we're going to have to share more tech with the Feds if we don't want them slaughtered.Once the Nero enters mass production they'll be fine. Plus, once the Titans went rogue their budget got redirected to the regulars anyway.

>>39162305>Mars ZeonAnd Jupiter.
>>39162046“Well, no sense lying around,” you mutter.Artesia blinks in surprise, trying for a moment to process the statement. “Wait, you can't just get up and start walking around! You were dead for a full sixty seconds, and you've been unconscious for three full... days...”Any further arguments are silenced as you roll smoothly out of bed and land on your feet, still wearing your hospital gown. Aside from the brief wobble as you find your balance you feel fine... better than when you were lying down, in fact. Your doctor stares in shock. “Well, fuck me sideways.”“Lawdy lawd he is heeeeealed!” you sing out, shrugging off the gown and setting to work pulling on a clean uniform that was laid out on a shelf in your room's little bathroom. “Artesia, where're my shoes?”“You should have brain damage,” she observes, still in a state of complete incomprehension. “How are you standing? I literally don't understand how this is possible.”“Well, I'm sorry I don't have brain damage, princess,” you scoff. “Better luck next time.”“That's not what I...”“Kidding! I'm kidding! Come on, you're off your game. Maybe you should get some rest?”Artesia throws her hands up in defeat in the face of the nonsensical. “Is that an order?”“Yup.”“Fine, I'm going to bed. But take it easy or I'm gonna kick your ass, right?”You nod in agreement to your doctor's terms as you escort her from your hospital room towards her quarters.>Find one of your pilots?>Head to the hangar and look over the damage to your teams' machines?>Head up to the bridge and debrief with Karen?>Other? Also, write-ins for smartass greetings are always acceptable, especially now that your body is running on pure snark and stubbornness.

>>39162599Nope. Sixty seconds can be bad, but it's definitely recoverable: and the rest of the body can go for hours with no blood flow. For example, you can surgically reattach limbs up to six hours after the injury. >>39162392You manage to stop in at the Nagato's enlisted mess on your way to the bridge to debrief with Karen, grabbing a whole pot of coffee off one of the tables. Nobody seems too inclined to ask any questions, though you get a few surprised looks and can hear some whispers to the effect of “wasn't he in a coma this morning” or “I heard he was dead for a while”. This kind of scuttlebutt is a welcome change of pace from what you usually hear, which largely concerns who has and hasn't been sleeping with who. Your arrival on the bridge is no less noticeable. “The hell are you doing on your feet, Captain?” Karen asks you, her eyes wide in surprise. “Shouldn't you be in bed?”“That an offer?” you grin, taking a seat in the chair next to hers. From what you can see out the front viewport you're on a course for the moon. Defrah laughs heartily. “Yeah, he's back to normal alright. You enjoy your dirt-nap, skipper?”“We thought you were in a coma!' Reiko mutters anxiously. You shrug, taking a gulp of the warm, deliciously caffeiney black beverage in your hand. “Nah, that's just what I'm like if I don't get my morning coffee. Nothing to be concerned with, Reiko.”“I take it Artesia let you loose?” Karen frowns. “And I assume you're going to spend the rest of the day continuing to push yourself like a lunatic?”“Just try an' fuckin' stop me.”Your CO sighs heavily. “Yeah, I thought as much. >>39163050“Team, crew, ship, allies, politics,” you recite, “in that order, please. I wanna know what I missed.”“Your team is fine,” Karen replies. “Shaken up by what looked like you dying, and there are a few minor injuries. The worst was three broken ribs for Miss Sheen.”Your commander turns to her bridge crew. “As for the crew? How're you doing?”“Tired.”“Beat.”“Bushed.”“Exhausted.”“I'm awake, really!” Miyu insists a little too loudly.Karen chuckles to herself. “Yeah, sure. You'll get the same from pretty much everyone else on the ship. We've been working overtime to get everything repaired and refit in our own MS teams, on top of helping stabilize the situation on the ships that surrendered to us.”“The Nagato herself is in near-peak condition, though we had to shut down our fabrication facilities for a few hours. Over-drew the power and shorted some of the couplings on that deck.”You nod. “Yeah, sorry about that.” You're pretty sure losing an arm off your mech added to what was always going to be a frantic post-operation scramble.“Not your fault,” Karen insists. “Besides, the whole ship is here to support your operations, remember? This is what my crew trained for. Give them some credit.”“Our allies are in good shape,” she continues. “I'm expecting a report from Kowen on the labs at Gryps when we arrive at Von Braun.”“As for the political situation in general... shit's kind of crazy right now. The EFSF finally started pushing back against Titans, the Republic and Cima had a falling out, and the Sides aren't quite sure where their loyalties lie.”“And as always, Axis is coming.”>Put me through to the EFSF. Now that I think about it, the assassination worked really well for us. It split the Titans right when we needed it and we destroyed then piecemeal.
>>39163984I'm still expecting the White Wolf to become PM at some point.
So what do you think this war will be called? The six shooter war? Because the pivotal battle occurred at six shooter?
>>39164063And lured in a zeon force for us to destroy. Now what to do with the Nobleman? I don't think we actually need to attack them and we might be able to speak with him regarding reintegration into the EFSF. Titans will have to be disbanded. Just a question of where to put the personnel. Do we induct some of them into Londo Bell? Or form them into another elite formation or instructor corps.
>>39164136The Libot Conflict.Titanomachy
>>39163642"What do you mean, a falling out?" you ask nervously. Karen actually snickers to herself a little. "See, what she did was she sent a call to her superiors accusing them of a few points of gross negligence, corruption, betrayal of the public interest, that sort of thing. Well, none of them refuted it.""And she was televising the whole thing," you guess."You bet your sweet ass she was."Defrah kicks her feet up, taking a moment to relax. "Yeah, and now she forced a referendum, but not before they fired her.""Which means none of what she does can be tied back to the Republic, for now," Reiko adds. That's... actually not bad timing at all. This way she not only forces political reform in Side 3, but she's managed to free herself up to carry out operations as she sees fit, in whatever capacity you decide you need her to. "She's better at this game than I am," Karen admits. "Hope to God I retire before I get like that.""Anything else you need right now?""Yeah," you mutter. "Hey, Reiko? Karen? You guys think you can put me through to the EFSF Admiralty?"Karen's eyes narrow, and her expression shifts from one of amusement to something entirely different. "Maybe. What for?""I think it's time," you tell her. "Titans is crumbling as we speak. We'll never have a better shot at shutting the last Newtype labs down without a fight as we do now.""If you let me, I think I can end it today."
>>39164136The Fourth Space WarAnd that's it for tonight, folks. Thanks for playing, and hope you enjoyed a break from the heavy combat we've had these last few sessions. The Garden needs to be cleaned of weeds.
>>39164548I wonder if we get the EFSF on board if we could rig up a new type academy for all the little munchkin powerhouses of tomorrow?
>>39164612Step one is the close all the new type labs and create a safe zone for current new types.Step two is basically create the Xavier School for Gifted Children, so safely develop their newtype powers. If the Federation gets on board, then our pilots can fight for them.
>>39164612That could be a nice thing to propose to replace the Cyber-Newtype labs. Make it open to the public with plenty of accountability and focus on the development of non-military Newtype tech. Demystify the Newtype phenomenon, so that they're seen as neither dangerous things to be controlled nor superhumans to be venerated. That could work really well.
>>39164611It does, doesn't it? Completely accidental. Also, the Easter reference wasn't even intentional. I came up with it at like 3am after yesterday's run, having totally forgotten what day it was. When I realized I'd be running it on Easter, I had to do it.

>>39165165RoZ is probably in chaos with the rest of the sides, so they are still probably supplying her despite officially being cut off. Also, I wonder how are the other sides going to side with? I mean there is only the Feds, Axis which is coming, or a third party group like us/Londo Bell?
>>39165165Yarr, Space Pirate. Or backroom deals with one of the Lunar cities.
>>39165165It was mentioned earlier that Cima was raiding Titans supply shipments and had enough to keep her going for a while. When in doubt, she goes space pirate.
I know some one asked this earlier, but what do the Titans believe in? I mean Zeeks are like SIEG ZEON, so what do Titan diehards believe in?
>>39165165If she managed to out the government and actually force a referendum, she must have found significant support from the population. And considering her role previously in the Republic of Zeon Navy, she must have contacts on the inside who would be slipping her supplies. Plus she is working with us right now. Probably gets a good amount of supplies and parts from our own supply line and from Karaba.
>>39165326>Titans believe in?Sieg Terra!
>>39165326A LOT of them are Earthnoid supremacists, believing that Spacenoids as a whole are solely responsible for the One Year War. Which given the body count is a huge accusation to make. Some of them are just power-hungry, though a lot of those either died with Om's faction or gave up after his death made it obvious they chose poorly.
>>39165326Ostensibly, the Titans are about peace at any cost, being willing to do horrible things and shackle the world in order to ensure stability. In practice, most of the diehards are in it for personal gain and just use that as an excuse to seize as much power as they can.
