Until this morning, you were a pathetic virgin living alone. Now, you're apparently living in some kind of VN, where almost everybody are meaningless shades. As far as you can tell, there's just five "real" people here: you (former cubicle monkey turned anonymous VN hero), Aiko (chuuni little thing with pink hair), Minato (ojou archetype who you offended by getting all meta with her), Natsuki (transfer student who is also half-yokai?), and Yuki (childhood friend you kissed earlier).

You told Aiko about your situation, and she offered you her aid (after school ended). Then Natsuki tried to join you in your meal, one thing lead to another, and you found out she was half-yokai. You told her about your situation, and both Natsuki and Aiko agreed that your perception of the general population is completely inaccurate.

>They must be lying to you. They're probably the demons who run this dimension!
>Maybe they're right, maybe I'm the one who's crazy?

"Okay, we need to test this, then. When I move between places it's instantaneous, I just appear in the new location. So I'll take a stop watch, and you will, and then we'll both go to another room and time how long it takes us to get there. If this is just in my head, the watches should say the same time, but if there actually is something weirder going on then yours should say it took longer."
>>
Hmm. If they can't perceive the weirdness of this universe, why would that be? Is it because they're natives here? Is it you? You shake your head to clear your thoughts. They probably don't know any better, but that doesn't mean they can't be useful. "That's... odd," you admit, slowly. "Still, you two could still help."

The pair of them exchange a quick glance, silently considering one another. There's a tension that you don't understand, Aiko's stare reproachful, Natsuki's defiant, then they both turn to you and speak. "Sure," Natsuki says.

"I will aid you, O Chosen One," Aiko contributes, earning a roll of the eyes from Natsuki. When Aiko gives her a challenging glare, though, her posture shifts slightly.

"What the little one said," Natsuki corrects.

You're interrupted by a small group of shades, surrounding the young lady you recognize as Minato. One of them places several plates in front of her, which somehow contains what looks to be some quite fine quality foods; nothing from the cafeteria, that's for sure. She sits down next to you and speaks up before you can say anything. "I could not help but overhear your conversation, Satou-san, and I see now that you meant no offense by your earlier comments. You were merely deluded, perhaps due to your peasant status. In my infinite grace as a noblewoman, I shall of course forgive you your inadvertent transgressions."

"I'm... not sure it has anything to do with my family's income," you say, delicately, "but thank you for your offer. I appreciate it." You feel sincere enough. Besides, she probably can't help it. She has to be like this, or she wouldn't be a proper ojou. "One of the things I noticed was weird is..." you glance at Minato's following, every single one of them looking vague and ill-defined, but dismiss it for the moment. "The way space is laid out here."

"How so, O Chosen One?" Aiko says, preventing Natsuki or Minato from saying something similar.

"Spaces are supposed to be... I don't know, adjacent, right? You go from one to the next by passing through the intervening space, right?"

"Yes..." they all say, as though it was the most obvious thing in the world (which, to be fair, it pretty much is).

"So if you perceive space normally, and I don't, then when we move from one place to the other, time should go differently, right?" The three of them exchange quick glances, then nod and shrug. "So," you say, glancing at your wrist and finding it bare, "we'd need some clocks, or watches."

Minato snaps her finger, and one of her shades produces a pair of stop watches. You take one, Minato takes the other, you set them on simultaneously. Then you separate and go to an unoccupied classroom.

You don't recall passing through the intervening space. Minato enters the room after you, a click occurring as the door closes behind her. "Can I see your stopwatch?"

She offers it up, and you take it, comparing it to your own; it's the same time. A few minutes later, even though by your count, it couldn't have been longer than thirty seconds.

You're shocked out of your stare when you feel female fingers running along your cheek. You look up, finding Minato just inches away. "You are very handsome for a peasant," she says, looking you dead in the eyes.

You think you know how this is going to go. "Am I?" You ask, quirking an eyebrow.

"You are," Minato repeats, sound sure of herself. Her thumb runs delicately along your lower lip as she stares at you, her breath shallow, her eyes intense, her lips slightly parted. A long few seconds pass like that, the two of you just staring at one another. She bites her lower lip, her front teeth digging into the supple flesh of it. She continues to neither move towards you, nor away; waiting, it seems, for your action. "We're alone here," she says, at last. "Just a peasant... and a lady." Her fingers trail down your neck, then to your chest, her eyes clearly hungry for you. "You could do anything you wanted to me, and I would be powerless to resist..."

Before you can put together a response, there's a thump at the door. Then a louder one. "Hey, open up!" Natsuki yells, from the other side, banging on the door.

"No, stay with me," Minato urges. "Please."

There's a loud crunching noise and the door rips off its hinges, careening into the room without further ado. Minato steps away from you, looking annoyed, as the dust clears, giving you a good look at Natsuki. "Oh, thank God," Natsuki says. "You're okay." She offers you a smile. "When I couldn't open the door, I got worried that my father had come here to hurt you. He always comes after the boys I-" she cuts herself off, blushing.

"Chosen One? I worried that letting this half-ogre do her work-" that earns Aiko a sharp glare from Natsuki, but no more, and she continues as if it wasn't stated, "-would endanger you, but I did not feel adequately prepared to fight her off."

We have yet to fully understand how much this world operates by VN standards. Last time we failed to summon a christmas cake sensei, so we must try another method. Now that Natsuki's here, ask her and Oujo-sama to describe all your classmates and your homeroom teacher in excruciating detail. Perhaps this will unlock one or two of them as "major characters" in the plot and thus allow us to unravel the secrets of this universe.

"Wait," you say, raising one hand. All three girls stare at you with rapt attention, as though hanging on your every word. "Natsuki, what's the name of the boy who sits here in our class?" You point at a seat in the front left corner.

She tells you his name, and you hear enough to know that she's answered your question, but you absolutely do not catch it. You ask her to repeat it. And again. Still nothing.

"I'm sorry," you say to Natsuki, your brow furrowed. "I couldn't hear what you said. Minato, could you tell me the name of your... follower, who provided the stop watches?"

Minato looks annoyed at the question for a second before giving you a lovely smile. "That would be trivial," Minato says, with a flourish of her hand. "It's [_], who is my [_]. [They]'re very [_], and [their] family [_] for my family for [_]." Every [_] is just white noise, completely impenetrable other than the vague knowledge that she is imparting information, just not any important information. You can't even tell 'he' from 'she' when referring to... that individual.

"I'm sorry, I think I missed it, are they a boy or a girl?"

Minato frowns. "A [_]." Well, at least now you know that you're not going to be getting any information about the background characters second hand.

Natsuki grabs your arm. "Come on, Nanashi, show me around the school, I'm new here, I don't know where everything is."

Minato grabs your other arm. "No, let's finish our earlier conversation, Satou-san." She offers Natsuki a death glare. "You never did give me a proper response."

We MUST somehow introduce someone into the plot. It's obvious that the universe blocks out any plot-unrelated people and information. We must take what's unrelated to the plot and MAKE it related to the plot. We must bend this universe to our will.

Ask Oujo-sama who runs the martial arts club, then challenge him. We are in Japan, after all, so we could justify this as a modernized version of the wandering martial artists challenging dojo masters. Aiko will buy this, as this will trigger her Chuuni. If Oujo-sama fails to comply, present yourself as her knight, bringing order to peasants in her name.

We WILL get a rival, and we WILL make him crucial to the plot, or die or rather get lightly injured trying.

"Girls, I appreciate your interest," you say, trying to wriggle out of their grasp. They wind up deciding to let you go, rather than continuing to struggle. "But I think there's something wrong with me. I can't recognize faces, I can't take in new names, even biographical information is just white noise. I don't remember how I got here. That sounds like brain damage to me." Minato rolls her eyes, looking irate for a moment, before returning to a more neutral expression. Natsuki offers you a dull, bored look, and Aiko lets out a long-suffering sigh. "Could you take me to the hospital to get my brain checked out?"

Minato groans and starts to walk you to the door, Natsuki following behind and taking your other arm. Aiko awkwardly trails behind you for a moment before wrapping her arms around your neck and pulling herself into a piggy-back position on top of you. "It is unfair that your loyal shinobi maiden be left with nothing to hold, O Chosen One," she says, once she's on your back.

The trip to the hospital is a transit into a cold, sterile room. The doctors are all faceless shades. They put you into an MRI and then tell you your brain is fine. Your next conscious thought is that you're out in the street, the three girls crowding around you.

"See? The doctors said you were fine, Satou-san. I had no doubt, of course. You are the exemplar of a healthy peasant."

"I figured you were probably fine too," Natsuki offers.

"I too was certain of your health, O Chosen One! The gods would not abandon you to ill health, given your greater purpose!"

You have the odd certainty that school is out.

"Okay..." you say, slowly. "Thanks for the vote of confidence, I guess." You scratch the back of your head. "I'm headed home now, you want to come with?" The three practically jump over one another to agree, loudly, to your offer. You head home, the three girls in tow... and of course, there's another instant transition. You're in your family's living room, the three girls obviously jockeying for position, and you just plop your ass down on the couch, turning on the television.

Minato and Aiko manage to snake the positions on either side of you, while the taller Natsuki decides to stand behind you, leaning on top of the couch and balancing her chin on the back, so that her breath blows right into the back of your head.

The three of them are obviously paying very little attention to the television, and far more to one another. Whenever one of them starts to speak up with something along the lines of, 'Nanashi, could I speak to you alone for a minute?' the other two interrupt them with something irrelevant.

You're interrupted from the tense environ by the front door opening. "Nanashi!" Yuki cries from the front door, loud and brash. "I heard you had to go to the hospit-" she rushes into the living room, seeing you in your current position, and her expression almost instantly turns pitiful, puppy dog eyes and quivering lip.

"Here," you say, standing up and gesturing to your previous seat. "You can have my seat." Aiko, Minato, and Natsuki all look extremely irate at this turn of events. You sit down in front of the couch, still watching the television. There's a pause before Yuki shuffles into your former seat, glancing worriedly at the other three girls.

"Um. Is there a reason there are three girls in your living room?" Yuki asks, after a long few seconds. You hear a beleaguered sigh from behind you, but you couldn't say which girl let it out.

"They accompanied me to the hospital," you say.

"Why did you need to go to the hospital? Are you okay?" Her voice is concerned. You hear the sound of a coinflip behind you, and turn to see Minato showing the back of her hand to Aiko, then sighing.

"I was worried about brain damage," you say, and you see Yuki's eyes go wide.

"B-brain damage?" She reaches, tentatively, out for you, one hand going for your shoulder. Then you hear the screech of a half-dozen sets of tires, and the thump thump of jackboots on pavement and sidewalk.

"Satou-san, release your hostage, now!" Comes a loud, male voice from outside. You glance out a window, seeing armored, masked men moving around. "Don't make this any harder on yourself than it has to be!"

Minato speaks up first; the rest of your little harem seems to be a mix of afraid and annoyed. "Oh, no, this is all my fault..." she says, her voice crestfallen. "You should come with me to speak with them, Nanashi; it'll make things easier.

>Go with her to speak with them.

"Whatever you say, Minato," you say, rising to your feet from the floor in front of the couch. The two of you walk out the front door together, and you immediately turn to her, placing one hand on the small of her back and turning her towards you. She looks surprised as you lean into her, but when your lips find hers, she lets out a soft moan in your mouth, her body like jelly in your hands. You lean forward, moving a hand to her back to hold her, and she just limply takes it as you kiss her, long and hard.

When you pull up and away, she's blushing, looking demure and shy, her eyes focused on your chest, one hand still on your neck. "That was..." she trails off, sighing wistfully. "My first kiss..."

A second later one of the masked men tackles you to the ground, and you can hear Minato's fury as she tells the man not to hurt you, to stop, but you're ziptied when he pulls you back to your feet, and your entire torso feels sore. "You are not to touch Yamada-sama," he says, voice rough, crude. "You are not worthy to grovel at her feet, which is the only reason I'm not making you.

"Don't treat Nanashi that way!" Minato says, her expression burning with fury. "I- I- I love him!" She yells.

"I love you too, Minato," you say, your voice full of feigned emotion. She blinks, then smiles broadly, her hands coming up to grab you... only to be interrupted by one of the men grabbing her from behind. "Let go of me! You dare manhandle the great Minato, scion of the Yamada family?!"

"You're obviously not in your right mind, ma'am," he says, his voice identical the one standing next to you, just as rough and crude. "I serve the interests of the Yamada family in general, not you in particular. Come on, then," he says, dragging her with him. She struggles in vain for another second or two before giving up and limply following him, offering you the occasional glance before being loaded into one of the trucks.

The man who's holding you cuts you free, and you rub your aching wrists. You're pretty sure he's glaring at you behind his mask, but you notice it looks identical to the masks of all the other men here. "Go back inside," he says, half-tossing you towards the door.

The men leave shortly, and you go inside, stumbling in a daze, a little confused by the events that have just occurred. Almost as one, Aiko, Natsuki, and Yuki rush you, checking you over, Yuki's delicate fingers tracing the scrape on your cheek as Natsuki examines your wrists and Aiko gives you a hug. "What happened?" Yuki asks. "I was so worried, Nanashi. We couldn't hear anything," she says, adding emphasis to that last word.

I just want to derail because I like Tart's writing style but not the fact he feels the need to make all his quests short and well smutty.

He made a cool world here and I really want to test its limits, sadly /tg/ has a boner that needs wetting and Tart doesn't mind being the one doing it.

Fuck the murder/suicide voters though.

I'm ending the short quest/smutty stuff. Working on Dheljos and Reprisals, which are both planned to be long quests, to run concurrently with San Josafat, itself an intricately planned long quest (being run on Anonkun).
>>
>>39140242
>but not the fact he feels the need to make all his quests short
Nigger, I love that his quests are short. It makes them easy to get into. Not like all the other quests that I'd love to get into, but simply cannot because they've already reached the 200th thread or something.

>He made a cool world here and I really want to test its limits, sadly /tg/ has a boner that needs wetting and Tart doesn't mind being the one doing it.

>>
>>39140325
Maybe I said this wrong... I don't mind that his quests are short just I feel sad that he makes a world and then it just up and goes away after 3-4 threads. A 20 thread quest is still short sweet and to the point and lets people explore a bit before it ends. I'm not saying he needs to make a 300+ masterpiece but a few more threads would be nice.

Also I follow like 12 QMs besides Tart, I know there are other things besides Tart man. Not a retard, just an autist.
>>
>>39140402
That's an interesting idea, but no, I hadn't thought of it until right now.
>>
>>39140435
I really doubt the worlds he makes are fleshed out to the point you expect. Likely he doesn't even have enough details to run the thing, and makes up what he doesn't have on the spot as he needs it.

"Can one of you get the first aid kit?" You ask, and Yuki rushes off. You guess it makes sense that she'd know where it is, given that she's your childhood friend. Aiko and Natsuki gingerly guide you over to the couch, laying you down on it, the two of them fussing over you like a pair of mother hens. Yuki arrives and manages to force herself in, bandaging the cut on your face, her cute lips pouting slightly.

"I'm so glad you're okay," Yuki says, her voice sweet, feminine.

"I too am glad for your well-being! Not merely for your status as Chosen One, but because you are... my friend," Aiko adds.

"Ditto," Natsuki says. "What happened, though, for real?"

"Minato is handling it," you say. "Her family was at fault, she's going to talk them down." You decide to avoid mentioning the fact that you confessed your love to her, which proves that, deep down inside, you're a cad. But, hell, if you play your cards right, you can get laid by four different hot anime babes. Of course you're going for it!

"That's good to hear," Yuki says. Yuki glances at the two other girls, both of whom are looking at her with somewhat irate expressions. "You look tired," she says. "Why don't you take a nap?"

"I'm not-" you start, but a wave of exhaustion washes over you, as if in response to her words. "Oh. I guess I am," you say, lying back and closing your eyes.

"Don't forget your promise," Yuki says, her voice soft, as you pass into a dream.

The sun is bright overhead, and you're suddenly smaller than normal, your voice high pitched and childish. Yuki is playing with you; she's younger too, her blue hair frazzled and unkempt, spraying around her shoulders. "You have to make sure you grow up!" Yuki says, her childish voice insistent. "Otherwise we won't be able to get married!"

"I promise I'll grow up to marry you," the you-of-the-past-that-is-not-actually-you says, with an audible sigh, as if exasperated.

"Good! You get on the swing, and I'll push you!"

"Fine," you say, hopping on the swing, and letting Yuki start to push you. She's wearing a childish grin as you kick your legs, flying through the air. "Hey, Yuki?"

"Yes, Nanashi?" Yuki asks, still pushing you.

You try to think of how to phrase it... you're worried if it comes off as too contrived, it won't work. "When we grow up, I want to have a big harem, just like all my favorite VNs! There'll be you, a chuuni, a transfer student, and a tsundere!"

"That's silly!" Yuki says, blithely ignoring your request.

That's not good enough. "I'm serious! You gotta promise to help me make a harem!"

"I don't wanna!" Yuki says, pouting, crossing her arms and letting you swing on your own. "What do I get for helping you make this dumb harem?"

"You get me!"

"I already got you, silly! You promised! You gotta promise something else!"

You put your finger on your lip, trying to come up with something to offer...

"Um... I promise you'll get to be number one in the harem!" You offer, and Yuki just keeps pouting, looking sullen.

"I get to be number one if you don't have a harem, dummy! By default!" She sticks out her tongue at you, blowing a raspberry.

"Fine! I promise to love you forever!" You put one finger under your eyelid, pulling it down and sticking out your tongue. "I don't have to love you to marry you! I learned that from the neighbors!"

"Uh!" Yuki seems offended by that. "You're a jerk!" She crosses her arms, looking away, then glances back at you, a certain girlish innocence in her eyes. "You really love me?" She asks.

You nod. "I love you! And I promise to keep loving you, forever, if you let me have a harem!"

She kicks the dirt, looking away. "F-fine!" She says, grouchily. "I promise to let you have a harem! But don't expect me to help! You gotta do it on your own, you big lazy jerk." You jump off the swing, rushing over to her and grabbing her in a big bear hug. She lets out a squeak of surprise, then sort of cuddles into your little boy arms, her hands wrapping around you in return.

You wake up, blinking, to find that Yuki is kneeling next to the couch, her head resting on your belly, her eyes half-lidded. She smiles when she sees you meet her gaze. "Feeling better?"

"Yeah," you say.

You nod. "I still love you," you say, and she practically *purrs* at that, rubbing her cheek against your chest. "I'll love you forever. You'll keep up your end, right?"

She nods again. "I-if you keep up yours..." she trails off, swallowing, looking so vulnerable, so meek. You keep petting her, and the two of you start to talk. She's reminiscent, speaking about old times, old stories you don't remember but go along with anyway. You stay up halfway through the night without even thinking about it before finally drifting off, your fingers laced together with hers.

When you wake up in the morning, Yuki is gone. There's a note on the table, which reads, 'Sorry, had to go home to check on Dad. I <3 U. Yuki.'

You rise from the couch, yawning and stumbling into your kitchen, pouring out some orange juice. You wonder where your parents are. They don't seem to be appearing? Maybe Nanashi is one of those harem protagonists whose parents are out of the country on business all the time. You hear a loud knock at the front door, and you walk to the door. You look through the peephole and see...

A very large, very dangerous ogre, with a very big, very nasty-looking club. You swallow and gently back away from the door, bumping into someone behind you and spilling some of your juice. You spin, seeing Natsuki, who places a finger to her lips. She mouths the word, "Sorry" to you. Then "I didn't mean for this to happen."

You stride to the door, setting your juice down on the table next to the front door. You adjust your shirt a little, smoothing out the creases, and put on a friendly smile. "Hello, Dad," you say, opening the door and offering a hand. In return, you get a rough shove to the chest, pushing the door open as it knocks you on your back.

"Daddy!" Natsuki cries, her voice loud. "Please!"

"No little punk is going to defile my daughter," the ogre says, lowering his head a bit to fit in the door. He looms over you, the club scraping along the floor. "Don't think I don't know what your lewd little thoughts are, you cretin! You want to deflower her and then take a bunch of other girls, too, don't you?" Guilty as charged, though you don't say it aloud. The ogre smashes his club into the wall, sending plaster spraying around the room. "Don't you!"

Natsuki rushes to the space in between you and her father, tears streaming down her cheeks. "Daddy, no! I don't want you to hurt him! He's a nice boy! Please, Daddy!"

"I can damn well protect my daughter," he says, growling. "Now get out of my way so I can teach this punk a lesson for trying to mess around with you."

You clamber to your feet behind Natsuki.

You know what. You're completely right about me, Dad. Go ahead and do whatever you feel is right, I won't resist, not that I really could. (If you still have all your teeth at this point, continue.) However, you may regret the effects that doing so has on your daughter.

Then just sit there on the floor passively. If he does start beating you, try to at least maintain eye contact. Don't let him win.

You growl, focusing your energy, trying to prepare yourself to attack Natsuki's father. You have to protect your women! You can almost feel your body tingling with energy, and you rush Natsuki's father -

- who promptly hits you with his club, sending you careening into a wall with a painful thud. "Nanashi!" Natsuki cries, her voice choked up by tears. Your entire stomach has exploded in pain, your vision is fading, but you can dimly perceive the forms of Natsuki and her father clashing in your hall, utterly destroying everything around them, the sounds almost deafening as Natsuki lashes out at her father in vengeance for his assault on you.

Just before you black out completely, you hear the loud sound of a body falling to the ground, and then feel delicate, feminine fingers on your body. "Please don't die, Nanashi," you hear Natsuki whisper.

Then you fade from consciousness entirely.

I wonder if people will manage to vote for the main character to stab one of the faceless blobs. I wonder to what extent they are faceless. Maybe stabbing one will simply fail since the main character is unable to interact with them.
