A book that, while still burning itself, falls beside your feet in a solid metallic thunk.

And then, as quick as this infernal display appears - it disappears, the giant horned skull disappearing back into the depths of hell from where it sprouted from, leaving no trace of its intrusion. The sirens and the shaking stop too, along with the screaming orchestra.

Just...just what the fuck happened there? You shake your head here, completely and utterly confused. Just...just what in the Blessed Lady's name--

"Your journal, as you asked, good-for-nothing!" IBARI chirps as the rest of your dolls walk forward to lift the book off the floor, presenting it to you - and you swallow hard as you behold it in full view. It's not the journal you remember. The journal you remember was a slim black leatherbound volume, with crisp unlined pages. This...this isn't just a book, it's a fucking TOME, easily the size of those big coffee table books. The cover bound by what feels like tough, peach-colored leather, finely stitched with black thread. The corners festooned with mordant symbols of death and destruction, sigils of evil gods upon thrones of skulls and corpses.

There's a...there's a fucking EYE in the binding. An actual human fucking eye, completely black from pupil to sclera, set inside what smells like a glass bottle of formaldehyde set into the book itself. The oversized swiveling every now and then to face you.

"Go on, then, good-for-nothing! Please update your journal!" Your entire doll collection chimes in unison.

Taking their places beside your own spot on the floor, their eyes riveted on the oversized tome's open pages - and, you suspected, on your every move.

You do your best to ignore this as you flip past the filled pages of your new journal. Noting how disturbingly natural your writing looked, as if you'd been writing on this particular book all along instead of the much smaller, much more ordinary-looking leatherbound volume that Wendy gave you.

...Wait. If this was really your actual journal, then--

You quickly flip back to the very first page of the huge spiked journal. If your suspicions are true, then what you're looking for SHOULDN'T be there. Which would mean that this was just a word-for-word copy, and not your real journal. Which would also mean that your real journal was still in its easily-portable, much more convenient form, and you just need to fish it out of your inventory.

Looking down at the first page, you squint as you see the handwritten dedication there, signed by two initials you have no issue figuring out exactly who they belonged to. The handwriting all pretty curves.

You also write down what Pinky - no, Madoka - helped you with. Your real identity - which you cross out and scrawl angry crimson question marks over instead, since that particular line of questioning ended up just pissing you off even more. Her half-answers involving the next Golden Weapon, then Mami, and then something about fuel and steel beams. ...No, you still don't get that last one either.

"Everybody." NEKURA wags her finger at the doll with the funny-looking trilby and the garland of white flowers. "I did say everybody, didn't I? Just you wait. We'd have been better off killing everyone first and then doing our sacred duty. Much cleaner and easier that way!"
