Last time

We kicked some major ass in a war simulator, destroying not one but two coalitions of Human and Republic forces slaughtering hundreds of thousands and dozens of enemy heroes in what is the first taste of a grand War Civ come true.

And now we're training to learn the skills to be an officer and hopefully the fighting skills we desperately need.
>>
>>39105759
Abigail awakes from the Virtual Reality simulator having won! But in front of her is Lillian, her seemingly adoptive older student in the Combine Academy.

And she looks mad.

"I...am gonna save your ass kicking for tomorrow. Which I will kick your ass twice after healing you up again for your earlier stunt and failures. For now come with me."

>"What, no congratulations?"

"Congrats are for later something will be arranged."

"First for picking a fight earlier with that one girl and then again for fucking up the piloting. Every mistake you make you will be punished."

After that she took you...away from first year barracks and towards the special zone which as you found out is apparently one of the few places where the male and female schools overlap.

There she took you to a familiar door before opening. There inside you see the two soldiers who upon her entering got up and saluted.

"You called us out for what exactly Mam," asked the male trooper.

"This one here." aka you. " is now your responsibility from now on she will be bunking with you. As her seniors I am expecting you to teach her the ways of the officer."

They both stared in utter shock at you.

"...wha?" pipes up the female trooper. "I thought she was a dissapointment?"

"That has been rectified for now. Let just say she has shown exemplary results in leadership ops."

"Shit really? Must be really something to get her assigned here," mentioned the male trooper as he approaches before halting and looking outside.

"...where is her bed? So wait are we changing quarters?"

She didn't respond as she left.

"...You do realize she is expecting us to sleep in the same bed together right?"

"I can't believe she is still about that."

"Unluckily for her we are both girls and can share a bed."

"That is only because she had the beds be made for two for reasons."

"Yeah...one of these days we SO are gonna get her back for this."
>>

Well anyway welcome kid to special Officer Quarters Second Year experience."

"The special wing is for exemplary area. First years...are SUPPOSE to be separated entirely from the other sex."

"Basically the school is broken up into two separate wings one for each sex. There is a place where they intersect known as the special zone. It is there the 'elites', 'officers', personnel, faculty, and outsiders are taken care off. Technically each of the three parts are designed to be largely self sufficient if rather bare boned. The place with the most luxuries is obviously this place but you have to be either very good or an officer to earn your way in here as as student."

"When you get on in later years you'll be allowed to interact on occasion with the opposite sexed students in the opposing wing. Whatever you did you must of made one hell of an impression to not only be sent here but assigned to us."

"Got any idea for that last part?"

"eh fuck if I know...come to think of it did we ever introduce ourselves?"

"Eh I don't think so."

"Just great. Alright boy obviously is Chief Male Officer Rexis Azolu and girl is Chief Female Officer Zarisa Alceebo both of Lily Brigade under Commander Lillian."

"In other words we are both the highest ranking officers under Lillian's command. w+We both are expected to lead our own division which is split between male and female obviously."

"As for Lillian...she commands her own special forces. I heard getting under her own personnel command is a sure fire way into special ops advancement."

"Wouldn't that include us?"

"I haven't heard anything of it including officers."

"Pity."

"Sure that is a good idea our training isn't what you would expect for first years."

"ah thats right...they don't get access to some of that stuff till later on. Ah well we can still do the basics."

"And the latter basics?"

"We save that for the big show."

"Hm...fine. Still though your gonna need to attend your classes and trainings kid you'll be allowed to see my training once you've done all of that first."

"So extended training session then?"

"Nope it'll be Lily's extra."

"Oh yeah that would indeed work."

>>39109577
"Hm...sounds like your screwed kid."

"Yeah she is REALLY good at her ass kicking. Unlike most people here she has already had extensive training and experience before joining up due to that fuck up."

"That fuck up STILL cracks me up," commented Rexis trying to stifle a giggle. "Well I guess she can see you train Zarisa I know you squeeze in some training before sleep and early morning every day."

"Eh..."

"What thought i didn't know about that?"

"I split it between piloting and infantry work. Especially infantry I suck at infantry."

"Thats hilarious considering I saw you snipe 87 head shots in a row during the Matches."

"...How the hell did you know that was me points scores were hidden until afterwards and I stayed mobile."

"Loud booms and bloody CQC slaughter in sniper nests are a dead giveaway."

"Hah?"

"Snipers don't bother with CQC much which is why they stay mobile or lay booby traps. Your unusual in you adopt boomsticks into your arsenal besides a rifle."

"Shit..."

"heh nope not done your also the only sniper who gets all those shots in...without using an actual sniper rifle. Due to regs you are unable to have both a shotgun and sniper rifle so instead you swapped out the sniper rifle for an ordinary rifle and got a basic shotty."
>>

"You are the ONLY sniper in the school who doesn't actually use a sniper specs, also your goddamn amazing in a turret."

"...I miss you being a smart kid not a smartass teenager who likes to play it stupid."

"Hah I miss how sweet you used to be so were even."

"Still real impressive though in exchange for duel weapons they are of lesser quality if you had one main...not to mention you don't bother carrying a sidearm."

"Anyone else know?"

"Nah not really people suspect but most think your just some kind of sniper killer. Which you are considering the massive ass raping you gave the sniper only matches."

"Yeah I wont deny that one."

"So I guess I'll take the girl with me for my nightly training session...meanwhile let me guess your gonna jerk off?"

"Yup. only time i can get away with it after all."

"I thought you used shower time for that?"

"Nah too awkward knowing your here I just like long showers."

"Well shit."

"Yeah and you need to get off more often too. I ma sure it would make you more bearable to be arou-*ZAPP*."

"Alright lets go," order Zarisa as she puts away her shocker before leading you off. "Truth iz this when it comes to Lillian she is trained as a Clan Commando meaning she is very nasty her 'spec ops' are actually commando trained cadets she herself taught. So for fighting her in close quarters...just don't unless you have a superior position with bigger gun or got power armor and she doesn't."

Eventually she brought you to a special training yard which was strangely close.

"The biggest thing to remember is men on average are stronger then women. That is why I became an especially big fan of guns...in particular the shotgun for the CQC problem. In truth my own training for close quarters combat is actually the mastering the use of ranged weapons in close quarters and using my sniper abilities there."

"In that regard these are the weapons I train with."

"n-nh this," you point at the strange pair of gauntlets. With that the girl grabbed them and put them on.

"These here are gun gauntlets a rather exotic weapon favored by those who prefer a bit more personal touch to it. Old weapons these existed for a VERY long time but weren't very popular until recent times. You can largely thank rocket and gun fists to its new popularity."

"Usage wise." She throws up her arm and fist pointing it at a target."They are hard to aim for unless you have a built in targetor hence common with robotic and powered forces." With that she unleashes a brief hail of gunfire destroying the target until you heard a click. "Unfortunately they have terrible ammo capacity for bare fist editions. So most fighters." She proceeds to reload the gauntlets. "Prefer using them in addition to their bare fist fighting as a sort of extra oomph. A popular handicap for those who don't know the special arts. In general the best means of using these weapons are if you are in a bigger rig that can take proper advantage OR" Blades slip out of the fists. "You are able to enjoy its gift of duality. Its strongest advantage. Be aware these weapons have poor range and ammo capacity. Only good for a bit of a surprise or enforcement to your original techniques that aren't supreme. Truthfully I only use these when I am in my armor. Not really worth it when going bare fist. Had more then one sucker bite it due to them thinking I can use these very well. The trick is this."

Acquired Secret Technique

>Fists of Duality
Gun gauntlets are a very old weapon but have always been considered subpar until the rise of their descendants the legendary rocket fists. However among the practitioners of these weapons exists an ancient style that take advantage of the Duality resulting in a surprisingly deadly use in their hands.
>>
Rolled 13 (1d100)

>>39114781
The secret aka 'trick' is the taking advantage of two.

You have two fists.

You have two weapons built into those fists.

How do you take advantage?

Such the secret style became known for deadly use of being attacked from multiple sources by multiple ways. Those who have fought a master of this secret style of noted its like having to fight 6 or even 8 people at once.

For basic users it feels like fighting two at this point you are considered adept.

You saw first hand just how strong it was when she activated the practice bots who dropped down and went after it.

She moved and swapped between the functions seemingly dashing between bots blasting them with a well aimed just, stabbing them with gauntlet blade, tapping them with her palm and a blade stabbing out in addition to stabbing or punching then open firing at the weak point. There she moved among the bots taking them down in groups. It was almost as if there were 3 different people in there with the way she moved and eliminated the competition.

Eventually she finished sweaty and stripped off the gauntlets before setting them down. Behind her stood carnage of battlefield of bots as they were slowly cleaned away by incoming machines.

"The secret to using these properly is multi tasking and understanding the duality of fists. You understand those principles then you'll be able to use it. I personally only bothered learning it after I found out that its good to have a backups and I needed something to take advantage of my aiming skill while still be bare fist. So its not by any means my strong suite but it proves one hell of a nasty surprise to those who think I am helpless in melee without a gun or knife."

You decide you want to sleep...also eat. Fuck you haven't eaten all day...or has it been more then 1 day during the simulation? Fuck your not entirely sure. So you followed her back as she grabbed herself a snack and drink but then paused as she noticed your expression.

So she slid some over to you and looked over to her own food when she turned around to ask you something and noticed it was already gone. She did a double take there before muttering about something involved starved children of Afora while she got up and went back into the kitchen.

After a little while you heard some tell tale sizzling sounds, a bit of boiling, and some whirring. Shortly after you see a ruffled but drooling Rexis suddenly appear and sit down staring at the kitchen.

Eventually she came out carrying three different platters of food, one in each hand and another balanced on her head. She made her way over to the table where she set down the platters before going back into the kitchen and brought out cups, drinks, silverware, and utensils, but not before giving Rexis the stink eye. Once she finished setting it up she went off into the bathroom where you than heard the showers start.

Meanwhile Raxis for some strange reason was staring at you while stacking up his plate before finally speaking with a full mouth. "You...you are some good luck first you get away with so much and now you somehow convinced her to cook all this up. Hm...note to self is weak towards little girls." that last part he muttered and also mentioned something about something involving boys that required testing also weapon involving tarnished tea and Lillian.

The last part lost you as you stuffed yourself with the feast that stood before. The food was of even higher quality then the banquet. Each platter also had differing foods one for breakfast, lunch, and dinner respectively. The drinks were also very good having been freshly prepared as well.
>>
>>39115302
Note to self, our ship will require a personal captains kitchen and dining room in addition to the crews/officers dining.

The breakfast options were creamy sauce with strange diced fruits mixed in, along with a platter of scorched greasy meat draped over fluffy breads drenched in gravy, and finally served with a fruity milky drink mixture.

The lunch was a fresh ACTUAL salad! Next to it were a stack of spicy fresh bread sticks, odd orbs(that turned out to be explosions of meaty and fruity goodness that went SOO goddamn well together), and a drink of tea to go with.

Dinner platter was a homemade stew, fresh loaf of bread, fruit salad, and strangely smooth hot carbonated beverages that went delightfully well with the dinner picks.

Desert was ice cream mixed with crushed candied fruits and smoky yet spicy sickly sweet drink to wash it down with.

In general pure amazing that you did your best to wolf down before somehow making your way to the bed where you collapsed onto. When you awoke the next day you found that embarrassingly enough you were in your undies, your clothes were somehow taken off on your way to the bed, and the mess from your meal was mysteriously gone along with some strange sounds coming from the kitchen.

The adjacent bed was strangely enough empty but the mystery was ended considering the sounds of a shower was ongoing.

aww so much for lewd.

You decide to doze in bed while keeping an eye on them. Besides sounds from the kitchen and the shower eventually ends. Out comes...holy shit is that really him?

Previously he used to be so messy and scraggy looking. Now he actually bothered to clean up and came out surprisingly cute. The reaction of Zarisa upon seeing him was even better as she was setting the table up for breakfast. She actually started shaking and stumbled back into the kitchen. He meanwhile grabbed the food and went to the couch where he sat down eating while checking up on the piles of gear.

Eventually she came back out the kitchen and grabbed some food before sitting down next to him. There you heard some murmuring, noticed some kicking, and yelps of pain. Eventually she got up in a huff with the dirty dishes and left towards the kitchen. Shortly after she came out with a medi kit and a stun baton where you heard some muttered complaints that were ended loud zaps.

Eventually you got up and started a light workout. This allowed you to get a better view which revealed a stunned him getting patched up by her and them talking about their gear.

>Schooling is a bit of a strange class - a holdover from days when facts had to be memorized rather than stored on mental prosthetics. Fact memorization mostly, from history to physics. But it's not entirely useless - training memory leads to mental acuity in other areas, and knowing a lot is the first step to understanding a lot.

"don't neglect it" you remember a senior student telling you, "if nothing else, it will help your survival classes, knowing what the things you have can do, what the weather might be like and the mathematics of designing an optimal shelter. But don't let schooling become the goal - it should always be something that helps everything else"

You decide to head towards First Year Armory so there the squad of student soldiers escort you there. When you get there a human faculty member usher's you in and there stood stack upon stack, rack upon rack, boxes piled upon boxes, and crates full of items meant to equip an entire goddamn army...and the Combine is using it for students.

I'd be for the gun gauntlets right away actually, They sound insanely good for close to medium distance crowd control. Slash and burn, baby.

>>39134391
Assuming a majority like the gun gauntlets and they are a secondary weapon, I think the most votes for primary are the Sniper Rifle, followed closely by the assault rifle

So I would vote for
>Sniper Rifle
>Gun Gauntlets
>Cadet's Commando

This would make us a terror at both far and close range - we'd be weak at medium range, but that should be ok - We can be a sniper until the enemy gets an idea of our position and starts trying to pin us down. Once they are closing the distance to where a sniper rifle isn't the best tool, we can close the distance further and shoot explosive rounds everywhere, gauntlets akimbo. It's every cliche of an action movie hero, but there's nothing wrong with that.

>>39134731
I'm gonna fluff the Cadet's Commando, in Case Genie hasn't and wants more setting details
>Cadet's Commando Kit: Unlike most of the other kits issued to cadets, the Commando Kit bears little resemblance to the kits issued to soldiers in the field - it is mostly a collection of random civilian equipment and oddments, all of it potentially useful but with no coherent theme. The point being, of course, that a commando can use anything to complete the mission. Choosing this will make us seem a little insufferable, and our classmates will act a lot insufferable if we need to borrow a bandage or a multitool - but it is a mark of extra competence to complete missions with the cadet commando's kit, we'll earn more freedom to customize our gear upon graduation, and it trains lateral thinking like nobody's business.
>Plus, we'll probably graduate with a story of stopping an armor division with nothing but a shark's tooth, some gum, 97 cm of detcord and two marbles. Well, not those exact things, the sharktooth daisy chain attack has been accounted for in newer armor designs. But you get the idea.

You know a battle rifle is different than an assault rifle, right? The M-14 EBR is a battle rifle, a marksman weapon. Semi-auto with greater range than most infantry weapons, and can be used as a sniper rifle in a pinch.

Contrasted with the M-16 or AK,which are assault rifles that excel at close/mid ranges (mostly close) and have the ability to go full auto.

Yeah, we better spend every bit of exercise as we can, eat as much protein as possible, and absolutely no skipping out on leg day.

>>39141525
Which is good. Its not the agility we're worried about.

It's if we're slogging through the mud and rivers, been fighting for a whole day, and suddenly we're so tired we're not fighting at peak efficiency. And thats before injuries and weariness.

I want us to be sprinting and skipping and hopping at any stage of a battle at full stamina. Possibly even if we're gravely injured.
>>
>>39141525

>>
>>39141647
Ah, so we can only pick one eh? Hmm.

Tempted between the Hand Cannon and the Commander Sniper Rifle.

We ARE going to primarily be a sniper. I think we should get the Commander Sniper Rifle
>>
>>39141673
I was thinking that for a bit as well. Then after finding out about our roommate's sniping skills. I was thinking we could go more her style. I will give us movement and better fire rate.
>>
>>39141766
So thats a yes for the Commander Sniper then eh?

Alright. How about the other stuff?

I was considering a mod for training endurance. So that we can get stronger as we train and that we won't end up exhausted and have to fight at the worst level of energy.

Like, a mod that lets us train our bodies to exhaustion and beyond, but keeps us at 100% focus and strength. So even though our muscles are extremely sore and tired and our body wants to quit we can still think and act like we're fully rested.

Later on when we calm down and don't need to train or fight anymore, then it hits us. We 'pay the piper' as it were, and then have to eat MASSIVE amounts of food for make up energy. After stuffing ourselves then we pay the energy tab and fall into a deep deep sleep where our body recovers. The best part is we've worked our muscles to the bring of collapse and beyond that when we do recover they get twice as strong as if we just got tired normally.

We also likely have to eat a big breakfast too. And a big lunch. Mhmmm.

And that would allow us to get the Behemoth armor and make it practical for long term combat and training too.

Thoughts?

My main concern is C.Q.C. if someone finds our handing spot, for breaking into buildings or ship hall ways. While our gauntlets can help, a battle rifle should have more of a kick.

Melee combat in general is a last resort. Then again, this is Genie's civ we're talking about and more often than not heroes get into melee one way or another.
>>
>>39142389
The fatigue would be handled if we get the Enhanced Endurance Training mod described in >>39141872
>>
>>39142150
>My main concern is C.Q.C. if someone finds our handing spot, for breaking into buildings or ship hall ways
Oh I see what you mean. You're thinking of actual boarding action and ranged combat across ship hallways and stuff. Where we don't necessarily want to rush up to them and start punching.

I have some reasons to disagree with that and his name is Warlord Duelfist among many other of our melee heroes who explicitly run up and punch people with guns Also that we'd have some serious armor to back us.

That said, this is our school training. Are we more likely to encounter students attacking us with guns from range or in close in hand to hand?
>>
>>39142542
>>39142150
Generally speaking I do agree. There's a difference between CQC doesn't necessarily mean melee range and we do need a good intermediate weapon.
>>
>>39142436
Yeah and when we punch people in the face we have a gun gauntlet.

I can get that, but different tech and time period. Plus fewer shoots and crap range, than an assault or battle rifle.

Well melee will depend on the opposition. Snipers, probably could work better to get in their face. Unless you want to out snip them.

Anyway, here is my vote

1 Commander:
Commander Sniper Rifle

3 Officer:
Behemoth Armor

Behemoth Armor Mod - Fatigue Postponement Training Enhancer >>39141872
>A specific modificatoin for Behemoth Armor to assist users in growing accustomed to it
>can keep fighting acting and thinking at 100% peak even though our body is exhausted and beyond
>Just have to eat more later to make up for energy loss and take a deep sleep
>Pushing our muscles beyond the limit makes them grow back faster and stronger

Effectively means we won't worry about performing poorly in combat even after being exhausted even after mile sprints in armor, and we can keep sprinting, just later we have to pay back the lost energy with food and rest

Officer Credentials - Because papers, as we've seen, go a LONG way
>>
>>39142626
Melee will also depend on us. I mean, Post Apoc civ melee is super common and even here in Sci Fi civ it tends to happen a lot too.

I'm not saying we shouldn't get a battle rifle on the contrary its a must.

I am saying though that we can always get gear later when we truly begin our career as a commander, but here in the school where we're likely going to be facing other students in hallways and rooms which might be the best weapon to fit our needs?

>>
>>39142855
>They usually start ranged and sometimes end up melee.
I believe you Genie.

I just think that melee combat is cool. Or maybe that's me just watching too much One Piece where even if everyone has guns melee still tends to be the preferred.

Hell, check out the simulation battle and our command of the monstrous and undead forces. As well as the Lingers. That was extremely close quartes with wave upon wave of cloned body pushing up against us.

Toe to toe, face to face, melee where you have armies pushing against each other shouting down each others thoats

>>39142855
Also Genie how about in the sci fi case of strong power armor and super powered fists or aliens with thick skin and claws? Are some units just built for melee better than others?

Especially the combine which has many unique species
>>
Rolled 49 (1d100)

>>39143013
Certainly.

Melee weapon increased in happenstance with the rise of urban and boarding actions. Also some armors and many shields are more resistant to ranged weapons then melee because of how they react.

Basically you can blame the rise of tech and close quarters to melee fighting becoming much more common.

Tends to happen alot in the dense cities or the tight confines of ships along with new tech makes the problem worse.
>>
>>39143093

Characterizations of tutors that turn into important characters later on. Reactions of other students to a giant can of armor with a huge sniper rifle on its back and gun-hands walking into the classroom...and then sitting down, taking its helmet off, and it's a 12 year old girl inside.

Getting our asses handed to us a few times by an instructor who was intrigued by our performance, and decides to give us personal lessons.

Getting mobbed by all the kids in a classroom we walk into, as soon as we walk into it because they want our gear. Holy shit, they're extra-tough too why are they so tough? Turns out this is Lillian's first ass-kicking and/or lesson, and they're not students at all but max-tier training bots.

>Lecture

You...carefully haul your way over to the lecture trying to move in the heavy ass arm that makes you feel fat...which comes to think of it you wish you were. As you are actually fairly certain you would weigh less and it would be more comfortable.

Still though your thankful you missed the previous course considering you are fairly certain you honestly didn't need it or could do very well if you did attend. Still you slowly make your way there escorted by the squad of student soldiers.

Eventually you get there openning the door to a brutal scene. Fires were burning, bullet holes everywhere, puddles of blood, and dried smears of it scattered all around in the ruins.

Among them you can see groups of students carefully reassembling parts of it for the lecture.

Everyone did however notice you as a giant tin can came through and made its way to a seat. It made the other girls very nervous as they carefully fingered their weapons while watching you.

When you took off your helmet you noticed a stillness in the air and the bulging of eyes as people noted that in that fat ass tin can came the head of a little girl.

They were shocked into silence.

That was when however the orator came in who was in charge for the lecture.

"ALL RIGHT MAGGOTS WELCOME TO THE LECTURE OF TELLING YOU JUST HOW GOOD YOU ARE FOR SURVVIVING THIS LONG RIGHT?"

"WRONG GIRLY CUNTS YOU ARE ALL WORTHLESS PIECES OF SHIT OF VARYING MEANS. FROM THE WHORES YOU SOLD THEMSELVES TO THEIR UPPER YEARS FOR 'PROTECTION'" he seems to be staring at you for this part. "TO BE A BUNCH OF WEAK PANSIES WHO ARE IN MEDICAL RIGHT NOW FOR GETTING THEIR ASSES KICKED! NOW WHAT ABOUT THE REST OF YOU LADIES EH OH THAT RIGHTS YOU AIN'T LADIES BECAUSE REAL LADIES WOULD BE DRESSED PROPERLY AND ACTING LADYLIKE. I MEAN LOOK AT THIS MESS HERE OF MY CLASSROOM! "MAYBE THEN YOU'LL LEARN WHAT IT MEANS TO FEMALE AGAIN WHEN YOUR GETTING FUCKED AND THROWN AWAY LIKE THE WORTHLESS PIECES OF TRASHY SKANKY SLUTTY WHORES YOU ARE!"

"OH BUT WE WOULD BE FACING ALIENS NOT OUR FELLOW HUMANS WHO WOULD DO SUCH A THING?"

"WRONG EVER HEARD OF DEMONIC DICK OR MONSTERS YOU FUCKING BITCHES?"

"WE DON'T ONLY FIGHT ALIENS WE FIGHT WHATEVER IT IS THAT IS TRYING TO HARM US OR OURS. EVEN EACH OTHER IF IT IS NECESSARY WHICH IT FUCKING IS."

"but its not possible to be a feminine soldier sir fighting is manly." the comments in this amazingly good girlish voice. "WELL AIN'T THAT THE SHIT RIGHT? MEN GOING OUT TO DIE LIKE DOGS WHILE THEIR WIFES, DAUGHTERS, AND MOTHERS ARE SAFE AT HOME RIGHT?"

"WELL GUESS WUT THERE AIN'T ENOUGH MALE FIGHTERS TO GO AROUND AND WOMEN HAVE TO BE ABLE TO DEFEND THEMSELVES AND THEIR CHILDREN!"

"THAT IS WHAT BEING A CLASSY FEMALE SOLDIER IS ALL ABOUT!"

"ITS NOT ABOUT MARCHING WAY OUT ON LONG CAMPAIGNS OH NO ITS ABOUT DEFENDING AND RUNNING THE GODDAMN HOMEFRONT EVEN WHILE PREGGERS!"

"SO HERE YOU WORTHLESS MAGGOTS NO NOT EVEN MAGGOTS BECAUSE AT LEAST MAGGOTS CAN TURN ROTTING FLESH INTO FLIES! YOUR MORE LIKE A MUNCH OF SHIT RIDDEN ROTTING BAGS OF BILE!"

That is when the old fuck sat down as tiredly upon the edge of the podium. with that he started to whisper and yet somehow it carried across the entire room.

"You see I can say these things because i am old enough I was around before the so called golden age. Back then I was a soldier. Now back in those days you had no cloned companies to take the heavy losses....you had only your fellow man. So those were the people who took the losses and went campaigning while the women stayed to hold down the home front."

"And that is why I can say what i have to say and know exactly what i am talking about." with that the lecturer put back on his helmet.

"SO NOW WHY KNOW ITS BULLSHIT AND HOW YOUR THE ANSWER TO THAT?"

"WELL THEN WHY ARE YOU HERE HUH?" with that he scanned the room full of girls(others came in over time) you noticed near the door there were few armored squads hanging back not daring to interrupt.

"TIS BECAUSE THAT DESPITE THE CLONED COMPANIES THAT AROSE TO EAT THE LOSSES ALLOWING THE DISSOLUTION OF PREVIOUS MILITARY MEANS AND TRUE TRADITIONS THAT...FOR SOME STRANGE REASON DESPITE THERE BEING ENOUGH DICK TO GO AROUND AND MORE IMPORTANTLY MORE SO CALLED FREEDOMS AND EASE ITS THIS."

"SO HOW CAN WE STILL BE SO GRAND YET SO WEAK?"

Remind me again, isn't the reason women are being pressed into emergency service is due to a depleting supply of literal manpower and therefor genes?

Is a cloned human fertile? And are their offspring genetically healthy?

I remember the issue with cloning from Memor was that the offspring would be inferior, you got a quick pop boost but then the clones would have shit fertility and horrible offpsring so you lost out in the longrun.

Is that still true?

After that was marksmanship which was a breeze and not just because of the lack of movement. Besides the instructor yelling at people in their faces while trying to aim and commenting on terrible techniques of everyone. The instructor noticed your skill in aiming even figured out your not using smart systems activated or aim augs.

After that was unarmed which was good and bad.

Good as in you were too heavy that techniques that worked on the 'other' heavies didn't do so well against you.

Bad in that you burnt out way to fucking fast luckily they couldn't exactly hurt you very well but still.

After that was a training period which involved being hunted down by other students and you had the 'option' to visit different instructors for tutelage.

>Visit instructor

>Hold out somewhere
>Train
>Go home

This is assuming that you could make it there though.

Unsurprisingly training period turned out to be a bloodbath and this was BEFORE senior students came in to slaughter.

Finally after that you had to listen to yet another lecture this one basically you all get yelled at for whatever reason or about something

Lecture options

>Combine
>Republic
>Human
>Questionings
>Other?

After that was tasking where you were basically taught other skills like piloting(required) or something else that in your case was using commando tools.

After that was yet MOAR murderous exercise which are you were right in assuming was gonna be hell for you in that armor.

After that was basic schooling/break where you were taught other stuff, allowed to visit, and recover before free time.

"As for stamina training in that heavy armor...you a Amazon or something? How about religious, magical or technogical expertise?"

Anything you wish to ask him?

You attend a lecture ranting about the Combine.

"Greetings student this lecture is on the Combine a coalition of forces uniting that was originally to serve against the Republic."

"Now the beginnings of the Combine can be traced to the ancient days of the original founders and the pact they made with each other."

"Over time this pact evolved especially once new threatening forces came forward and more members joined up. The Pact evolved into a proper treatise and its forces along with Creed solidified to what we know today that is the Modern Combine."

"The Combine is a force designed for the following tasks mutual defense for outside enemies...the Combine does NOT cover infighting under this ONE exemption. That is if the infighting threatens the Combine's ability to wage War OR to come to the defense of its members."

"This means Combine membership regularly do fight with each other they are just not allowed to take it too far."

"The other duty is neutrality between forces. This means the Combine is forced to remain neutral and serve as common ground for any disagreements. They are only allowed to interfere in the case of threatening of the whole."

"Next up is trade. The Combine is expected to help facilitate trade and in this regard in addition to protecting Combine space it ALSO serves to police them."

"Few duties yes? Unlike the Republic the Combine's power is STRICTLY limited. The Combine is only allowed limited powers and ways to use its powers. In exchange for offering up our tithes we enjoy the protection and privilege that is membership. The Combine is not allowed to interfere so long as our duties are met."

"Does the Combine commit to research and other actions! Of course it does for you see unlike the membership the Combine is expected to service them ALL. This means specially provided ships and stations meant to facilitate."

"VERY expensive as the Combine doesn't skimp unlike the Republic and shit is really quite expensive."
>>
>>39163578
Well, I'm having a hard time asking this stuff IC because I don't know what a common street rat in a sci fi city slum would know but

>"So you want to hear about the old ways huh? Like how most men were sent out on long campaigns to die! Or how they come back twice a year to deal with harvests as a minimum? How about the dire need for manpower that was such that even women had to actively participate?"
How exactly does this work in the sci fi world?

You'd think space troopers sent on long voyages to conquer other planets wouldn't normally return home.

Or perhaps this means more what happens to those said soldiers who bring their families and such to the newly conquered planet and have to hold it.

And returning to the harvest, hold old is this guy? By now aren't hydroponics and automated farming a thing?

Beyond that even in our modern world its very rare for a soldier to have to return home soley for the harvest.

>"As for stamina training in that heavy armor...you a Amazon or something? How about religious, magical or technogical expertise?"
Anyway we can learn to become an Amazon or something?

A copy of the Combine treatise is handed out along with an image of the original pact.

The pact as you take a look at it is simply a pact of mutual defense towards the republic.

The treatise shows how the Pact evolved.

First came the mutual defense.

Then came the clauses preventing fighting that would threaten the whole as well as a pernament force devoted against the Republic was officially 'solidified and backed'.

Means of backing/supplying unified forces came to be.

Finally came other threats the treatise again was changed to adapt and it changed from 'republic' to 'forces outside the membership.'

As additional members came in a new stuff was added that helped facilitate trade, serve as neutral force, and help police/protect the territories of all of membership.

Stuff on new membership and their means of offering to keep the united forces working.

Finally came a clean up and revisioning that led to the Modern Treatise.

Interesting enough in the paper it says that the most valuable document is actually the Pact document which got the ball rolling so long ago...after that there are the modifications and additions.

Interesting enough though NONE of that stuff was attached/included with the original pact. Instead later on it was all collected and put before the entire membership who agreed with the strict terms.

It doesn't say exactly how many changes were done over time only that one day it was all compiled and voted upon as a whole.

What is special however is the Combine Treatise is unable to be changed. ONLY a new document may replace it that has to be chosen by the Members.

If enough members agree then its best those who don't do so less they wind up exempt and no longer considered member.

Completely different from the republic who has changed their 'living' document countless times and you HAD to agree with it once a 'majority' chose it.

The combine doesn't do either.

>>39163728
"It wasn't always so advanced kid."
>>
Rolled 1 (1d100)

>>39163936
Eventually it became so goddamn complicated the members had to sit down and create a compilation that they agreed to keep to.

This led to the modern document because unlike before a member could choose to ignore parts of the resulting papers by merely keeping true to the others.

The new document forced them to be with everything within lest they be cast out.

So technically there are only ONE edition of the Treatise as before that was pact and multitude of other complications.

The Combine cut it down and recompiled it before pushing it forward. This event was the 'official' founding of the Combine contrary to popular belief.

Yet another difference with the Republic.

>>39163728
"Tech wasn't always so advanced kid and as tech sped up troops were out for longer durations."

"This meant the homelands were left on their own for longer periods of time too."

"Such things are indeed now a thing kid but it wasn't always so advanced or good."

"Amazons are an ancient group of female warriors think they ended up breaking into a number of clans. Hard to know for sure they rather hated men."

>>39163719
"So the Combine due to them having to pay their dues to all factions...invest HEAVILY in special set ups, but get this will ONLY happen for LIMITED things. Otherwise the Combine does it by Classification needed for Life and Use."

"So besides the limited areas designed for ALL the Combine has EVERYTHING else for only some."

"This some is based off requirements for usage and life. So they break up their classifications and organization by such."

"So as a human we would be an oxygen carbon life form Heavy worlder. So we would naturally be placed within those groups should you enlist with the Combine."

"This means those other species you will MOSTLY deal with are beings who share those same exact qualities. The rare exemption being in special stations of the Combine that allows lifeforms of great differences to coexist side by side."

"That is however very rare.
>>
Rolled 72 (1d100)

>>39164185
"Instead the Combine creates installations and ships designed to best facilitate a certain type of lifeform that they then provide widely in certain areas."

"This will create a network...and in the heart of these networks in the exemption that breaks the limitations."

"The same goes for Equipment and ships. Instead however compared to Member's tech...Combine provided is MUCH better on average."

"This is due to the Combine using the resources of ALL its members, resources, and tithes combined to created a special kit for their members."

"This means Unlike say our armor and guns made by humans FOR humans...in the Combine its for Humans by Everyone COMBINED."

You notice the instructor pulls out two weapons...one was clearly human and made by human a simple pistol. Meanwhile the other...was both very similar yet very different.

This pistol here...is human made for humans a typical piece in our arsenal meanwhile this." The teacher holds up the other strangely bizarre human weapon. "This is a Combine sidearm designed for human usage. Now compare the two's power."

Two targets was brought out that were then shot. First came the human made and it blasted a good chunk off. Next came the Combine pistol which fired...and where the hell did the target go?

"Now each of these weapons are the same exact age and yet look at the difference!"

"That is the might of the Combine children and we are members of it. So do we TOO get such pieces of gear?"

The teacher moves and sets up a new image.

"To a degree class. The Combine keeps its newest toys to itself but once it has something new it will offer the 'outdated' pieces to its membership. Now as we use them in our forces what happens when they get outdated? Why throw them away when we can sell or use for further learning?"

"This means girls." The instructor pulls out a crate. "The items you are using?" the teacher starts pulling them out...and much of it seems quite familiar the rest of it...not so much.
>>
Rolled 25 (1d100)

>>39164420
"The stuff you are given are editions of tech that has first seen the hands of the Combine, then a member's military, followed by reserves, and then militias...then and only then does it fall into your hands." The items brought out are clearly student goods...except for some that looked very odd...much like your Commander Sniper.

"For you students the basics you are given are stuff that is Man Made however...should you prove yourself." The teacher pulls up a strangely odd yet similar comparison. "You will be granted access to former Combine tech."

"However the Combine tech is NOT offered freely...instead its something that you must first EARN! That means girls that the Elite, Officer, and with some exceptions are ALL Former Combine tech that has been passed down."

"The other stuff is purely man made for man. That other stuff you all so desire? Combine tech made for man now potentially available to you should you prove yourselves."

...now for EASTER special!

----
For some reason that you don't know why you are being brought to a ship that will be escorted by Legit Combine vessels to some sort of world for a field trip.

This trip is apparently quite something as your being offered candies, chocolate, feast, games, and even a special service that is making it so that the griviously wounded and dead(?) are being brought back in such a way they can participate.

You for the life of you can't figure out what the hell the strange rabbit monster is for who is serving as guide. According the the Bunny you'll be taken to special religious world of human faiths on a ship and will be escorted that way by Combine escorts in a caravan of other ships going the same way.

This is apparently a stopover. During the trip you found out that its first years only...and you got a special message that states YOU along with precious few others are to be taken to an ACTUAL Combine vessel due to your potential.

>Acquired Invitations to Spec Ops upon graduation(you accepted strangely enough you also weren't the only first year but most were of students higher up you were the minority)

There you were also given a secret message saying that on board that same ship special tutor who apparently has something planned. However this is to take place on your way back to your school. On the way to the planet in question you are allowed to relax and enjoy yourself.

Following Events.

"Combine sticks with...averages they care not much for 'exceptions' or 'others' due to their love of...effiency."

"I however do not have this problem. Its why your Sponsor requested me to...be your doctor for a time. Sponsor claimed you were exception which earned my interest. I have had VERY few samples of such for my research."

Well shit and here you thought that was due to human docs being so rare.

"Basically unlike Combine Doctrine I am interested...in the different, the exception, and the Other."

"My research that while obviously not as common as averages it doesn't mean that looking into it shouldn't be warranted with combine resources. Instead Combine is more then happy to let members do it for them."

"Which is ironically...inefficient. In order to acquire Combine resources I have had to play along with Combine to acquire spare resources for my...personal interests and private projects."

"Your sponsor wasn't lying by the way according to my scans and work so far you do NOT lay within the average of your species...which is most interesting."

"Even more interesting I have yet be able to pin down where it lies...this may quite possible be due to interference from more then one."
>>

>>39167325
"I am afraid I cannot. There is too much interference I am unable to pin down it down exactly. For all i know you may have super power(s) or could become a goddamn psi mage."

Okay, found the heavy-hint.

Hmm, and the Udeakoi's Serum was applied to us so WHATEVER it is we have got enhanced....

Presumably we were pretty damn lucky to get out of the slums, maybe that's it. We also seem to have some sort of effect on people, seeing as we convinced our Combine Patron to take us up and we impressed Lillian too.

Hmm. How about I describe something to you, and then you help us by choosing the upgrade that best fits.

I want her to be a walking mass of BRUTE FORCE. A moving mass of indefatigable, unstoppable, and indomitable.

She can take a hit and then give it back and then some. Someone who could take a mobile freight train in a wrestling match and win with ease. With just as much Health and Stamina (if not more).

Think the Hulk or the Juggernaut or Wolverine.

At the same time, I want her to be specifically trained in the art of elimination of high value targets. The Republic knows that to defeat the combine is to defeat their heroes, and the primary enemy of any heroe are other heroes and special forces. As well, the enemy almsot always surrounds their special forces with regular grunt forces.

She should be trained in selectively targeting the most high value person on the battlefield and take them out even while supported by other forces. How to pick them off at range with her sniper rifle, even while standing in the middle of a fight.

Would

>>39168437
Which can be pretty much said of everything really put in the resources or training and you can get it.

So its like...I don't really know what to say exactly.

>>39168458
To a degree. It sorta depends on if its replacement or not and other stuff.

Not really you suffer from stuff like diminishing returns and how its built for.
>>
>>39168458
So like if your replacing muscle with specially built corded muscle fibres mixed with carbon for an armor boost.

Wont do you much good if its replacing something that is superior due to what you already got.

>>
>>39168478
You're just telling us not to get an electric heater if we already have a fireplace. Diminishing returns and redundancy.

But then, how easy will it be for us to get augs then?

Like how Wolverine's claws were made sharper by adding adamantium.

Or spiderman injecting web from his hand into a specific built web slinger?

Okay. For an actual super power here's my idea.

Ever watched One Piece? You may be familiar with Bartholomew Kuma. He has a devil fruit which gifts him a tactile superpower.

The ability to "push" anything, at any intended speed. Be it gently tapping a person to fly hundreds of miles away, to even compressing entire cubits of air into a tiny speck and launching it to release as a literal explosion.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fJ_-yVm5H3k

For us that means when we punch someone we really PUNCH them, being able to even push the resistance of the object of whatever we're punching and making Newton cry. The end result for us is pic related.
>see pic

Of course, for balance purposes we won't be that powerful as a noob, but we'd train it as we go along.

>>
Rolled 85 (1d100)

>>39168862
Corpse explosion?

Bartholomew Kuma had a specific devil fruit power. Devil fruit powers are rather...powerful especially when given training.

In which case its known as a grower power because it can grow. Grower powers are rarer but in the end can be trained to also be stronger.

Basically powers started to become more common over time due to certain bleed effects and crossbreeding provided the foundation.

That isn't considering the stuff that may be earned, given, or whatever.

Devil fruits are considered a devilish cursed artifact.
>>
>>39168973
>Corpse explosion?
More like punching/pushing somebody so hard they EXPLODE.
>>
>>39168973
Generally it means "pushing" when punching things at such ridiculous speeds anything can happen.

Punch a tree and it splinters and the shards embed themselves throughout the forest.

Punch a tank to go flying into the air like a ballistic missile and smash into a hovering space ship.

Literally punch out all the the blood right out of a person.

I would enjoy literally flinging a fist of force at someone.

Force in the shape of the fist, just to punch them, despite the inefficiency.
>>
>>39169772
A fist of force coupled with our actual powerful fist of fist

Don't forget we are learning to use gun gauntlets.. Actually.. Seeing as the secret to gun gauntlets is dualatity and redundanc this should work great In tandem..

Can we cast fists that are wearing psi-natural gun gauntlets of their own, that can aim and shoot on their own without our guidance.

We could always custom build giant metal fists with cannons on them, and use our giant psi fists to handle them and synchronize with our motions
>>
>>39169842
That absolutely needs to happen, her fists are so fuckhuge that her knuckles drag on the floor when she walks, like an ape.
>>
>>39169876
I was thinking they'd be flying around her as she walks.

Alternatively she rides standing atop them into battle, pummeling the first motherfucker she sees with a cannon shot follow by the metal fist.
