Previous Thread: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/38854373/
Our Current Stats: http://pastebin.com/iahm4JSj (Please have a look at them, but don't feel obligated to read it all in one sitting- use it as a guideline if you're drawing a blank or need some contextual information as I've essentially compiled every piece of information that's relevant to our civilization.) *UPDATED*
Our Current Bestiary: http://pastebin.com/TWY0QfWA (Please have a look, but don't feel obligated to read it in one sitting- it's VERY extensive and currently in "alpha" since I'd like to make an illustrated pdf.) *UPDATED: Demi-gods as well as Akalade*
Our Current Resource List: http://pastebin.com/X2EGb3Es (Sloppy)

You've seen the end of an immortal Queen's Era, The Spring of the Zizz, The Merpeople revive their aquatic nation, the melting of the south and the carving of volcanoes, you've almost circumvented your end of the world, but all these events and more are overshadowed by an ancient and ominous new light from the moon that your people seem to foreshadow uncertain times ahead.

>+/- Cosmic Development: The Moon's light Brightens
>Seemingly through the course of months and years it's become dotted and alight by a small accompany of sparkling lights while the vivid richness from shades of silver, white, and deep hues of teal and blue return to the celestial bodies lands and dotted waters. It's beauty is enchanting and somehow feels right to your people; as if this display of alien colour is for them.
(2nd post inc)
>>
>+/- Personal Development: Akalade Naps
>Akalade is functionally immortal due to his artificial origins, but it comes at a cost: he has noticed his age is catching up with him and in order to circumvent this he will be undergoing a period of regrowth. Akalade will be very shortly "pupating"; he will wrap himself up, his body will be broken down into a liquid before he will reconstruct himself and emerged as his juvenile form retaining all his intelligence, memories, etc. This process will take HALF A SESSION; you have 2 turns to ask for help, talk to him, etc..

>+/- Political Development: Dinosaur Tribe discovers Equestrian Culture
>The Dinosaur Tribe has become exposed to Horses/Quaggas via Changeling interaction and they have seen a dramatic shift in how their culture operates and conducts themselves; a quagga is much faster than a dinosaur AND you can ride it. This will have a number of long term influences upon their culture, but for the time being they are developing a much more mobile civilization and a culture that is starting to resemble amazonian, dinosaur, cowgirls.

The Map has been updated; please feel free to ask any questions if you're confused.
The Stats have also been updated with LONG TERM developments as per usual including the 'important' Gorgon stuff:
Please hold on though for one more final post: We have an important decision to make concerning the epilogue of last weeks session.

Whew! I thought he had lost his immortality. That's a load off my mind.

Also, we should focus more on heroes, underwater colonization/exploration, and food production.

>The Hydra mother and the Cosmic snake have both been banished back to the ethereal realm of dreams and stars; they no longer have any physical equity or influence over the physical world and the Gorgons have reinstated their previous ruling bodies. The Gorgon Empire has brought back their Theocratic assembly of high priestesses who had previously ruled and governed as the Hydra Mother's attendants; they have all been groomed for this specific position before hand in the event the Hydra mother had an "accident", so political stability is not a problem. The Dinosaur Tribe has become noticeably de-militarized and has calmed down significantly; they are in the middle of re-establishing and re-tooling their economy back into the rough and tumble herding, ranching, and dinosaur themed amazonian-esque culture it once was, but the introduction of the Horse/Quagga promises to bring dramatic alterations to their culture and expansion.

You know, I was worried it would be anarchy there for a second. But it does seem that they're happier without them.. Should we still try and get in touch with hydra mother? Apologize and whatnot? Maybe try to start the process of bringing her back via reincarnation and mantling? Or are we better off without?

I can think of someone who is unhappy.
>>
>>38993167
goodness when did this happen? Do I have a whole nother thread to read through to gain context?
>>
>>38993229
It is more of a goal list.
>>
>>38993187
Hydra is as trapped as cosmic was now, we can bring her back to some kind of physical body to some degree, but since her and cosmic are entwined like Siamese twins now i doubt either would let the other come to political dominance.
>>
>>38993187
We should still ask WTF?

Also I had an idea to deal with the gorgons and cyclops, with them reaching a kind of symbiotic NATO partnership, anyone want to hear?
>>
>>38993313
There isn't really any super aggressive species except for the gorgons.
>>
>>38993267
So what exactly was the HM doing anyway? She found a way to trap and drain power from the CS. Was this just because they were conjoined or was she invoking some other form of magic?

This raises a lot of questions about the nature of the divine. What exactly is a god? Where do they come from? Where do they go?
>>
>>38993333
Yeah but it'd be better to have the gorgons and cyclops working together for the foreseeable future rather then let the gorgon factions go back to sniping at each other or decide to wipe out the manticores once and for all
>>
>>38993313
possibly. I was honestly primed for gorgon anarchy, but things sound fine enough.

Glad we likely don't have to police their nation in hydramother's stead.

>>38993333
True. But there are some with some nasty habits.

The Kenku practice slavery and have prices on Cyclopses... Not OUR cyclopses but the fact cyclops are in their handy slave catalogue should be something to consider.

Plus the ant people seem a bit iffy in general. Not mean or nasty, just an entirely alien intelligence from the sounds of things. We should be prepared for them to be Bugger-equivalents.
>>
>>38993343
By my guess, she was trying to subsume cosmic before she got too powerful and tries the same back.

What i don't get, is why destroying the heart sucked Hydra in, it seemed kind of counter intuitive, because otherwise what was stopping it before?
>>
>>38993398
Maybe it was a dimensional anchor keeping them both in mortal form?
>>
>>38993343
Hydramother was indeed siphoning the Cosmic snakes power. She's generally had this Loki to CS's Thor vibe going. Otherwise she's sort of been running this egotrip of an empire. she's been nice to us, but sort of unpleasant to her own people. Sending them off to war with the Dinosaur tribe and building up an opulent capital.
A benevolent dictator, but a dictator nonetheless.

>+/- Divine Development: Foliatom heeds the call for Adventure
Foliatom feels incredibly guilty about his actions concerning the banishment of The Hydra mother; he has always felt uncomfortable in this physical realm and the Hydra mother was a constant source of stability and support within his life among an existence of constant discomfort and uncertainty.
Foliatom has always been a Momma's boy, so with all of this in Mind; he has become determined to cross over into the realm of dreams and stars in order to bring back his Mother. You cannot stop him, but you can help him:

Please pick 2.
>Foliatom needs Equipment
>Foliatom -through great hesitation- has cut up his clothing, his robes, and with the help of his Brother Anthochipilli has fashioned them into a serviceable and functional set of adventuring clothing: Tunic and matching boots all woven and sown from a strange and horrendous material that is foreign to this waking realm- adorned with eyes that peer into the cosmos & black shades of morphic void that protect form and soul.

>Your craftsmen are capable of crafting Foliatom a sword from the Bones of the Great Progenitor- a blade that will cut through any reality with a long dead anguish and resentment for creation.

>Your Sages can also provide Foliatom with a "map": The Blind-sage Scrolls possess horrid and ancient diagrams and maps that -although are dated- still remain relevant to this day. Any Guidance would help when circumventing an endless and eternal realm.

>You are also capable of Attuning to Foliatom's 'soul'. You can do this by carving him a tiny hand held monolith; adorned with gold, carved from obsidian. It is a gaudy trinket that Foliatom will take with him and allow you to directly communicate with him. *This will create "prompts" and minor events where in you will receive regular updates on Foliatom's adventures.. think of it like a magical pager.

Floiatom woo, slow your roll buddy! We won't stop you from going and we'll give you what you need, but shouldn't we at least try contacting the CS and HM before you go adventuring?

At least give us a little bit of time to figure out what the situation is out there before you go?

(Roll to persuade him to stay a little bit longer?)

Also I say we give him the sword and attune his soul.

The Soul Attunement is the closest option to that. It will allow you to check up on Foliatom and at the end of every 2nd or so Turn you'll get a miniature event.
Also; Sending in normal mortals into the ethereal realm is incredibly dangerous- Foliatom is an outsider though, he's adapted and evolved for this.

Voting will close in just a bit.

Unless we can't direct him with the map where we are?

If that's the case, we give him the map. Guidance is more important than communication. We will miss him, we love him, but we want what's best for him.

If he is very conflicted about not having the attunement, then give him that in place of the map.

The sword isn't as important.

Because of his regret of what occurred Foliatom is going to explore the new world (Reversed moon, Gorgon) The serpent is warning Outsiders of the struggles and hardships to come.
>>
>Map & Atunement won the vote.
Your Sages request his presence before the sage council within the Arcanum and they present to him his gifts: A sealed copy of the blind-sage scrolls and a small little necklace ordained with the tiny carved 'monolith' piece of obsidian and gold. There isn't much to say, no one really has anything thoughtful or insightful; it is an awkward and sad exchange.

>Bonus Gifts
>Anthochipilli tailors a little something
Sown with brotherly love; lined with thread of wishes, and fabric of dreams- Anthochipilli supplies his brother with a set of replacement clothing so that Foliatom could spare his own wardrobe. It's a hooded tunic with boots and a small satchel- the material is prismatic, beautiful, bright, and vivid.. it shines with a certain quality that provides hope and comfort and will hopefully light his journey.
>Akalade and your Moon-touched Sneak him a blade.
Made from one of the great progenitor's teeth; Akalade and his Cyclopean co-workers insist you do not ask them how they made it. The small blade is no sword, but it still cuts with a deep and tortured resentment towards the endless suffering of existing.. Foliatom finds it deeply disturbing, but he recognizes it's utility.
>Mycea packs him a lunch
The Fungal maiden presents his boy with something that resembles a drinking skin; made from a thick, rubbery, plant fibre and filled to the brim with a familiar glowing fluid you recognize as Mana. "Normal food won't pass over properly where you're going, so take this. I'm sorry I couldn't have been more of a Mother to you, but I hope this will help- It'll refill slowly, so drink it when you miss home"

Foliatom with his gifts quietly excuses himself and walks off; towards the volcano, towards the abandoned obsidian gate, through the gate, and without truly passing through it- he's gone.
He's begun his adventure and now it's time to return to ours.
You may now roll normally.

Propose greater political union with gorgon factions.

It's obvious that the fate of cyclops and gorgons are intertwined, and though the home island would never want to rule the gorgons or be ruled by them, we can still form a greater whole by working together.

The proposal instead is a marriage- in a marriage neither partner rules the other, but they are recognized as being part of a single entity, a whole greater then the sum of their parts. Both partners in a marriage listen to each other, help each other. If one has a problem the other supports him/her till they can stand on their own. If one IS a problem then they talk it over and find a solution.

Almost as if a storm has blown in a wave of horrible and unapologetic bad and terrible luck has washed over your coastal and island communities; the mainland cities and villages being spared.

>Attempt to establish political accord and eventual union with the southern cyclopes
>Roll 17/20
>High End Success.

Your people thought the commute there would be the worst part, but the South has become a very quiet and cold place; the Volcanism may have melted their lands, but their hearts have instead become icy and hard.

The Southern Council of the Snowclopes consists of numerous Tradespersons, Sailors, Monster Hunters, and a few genuine sages; they do not seem to rule themselves by a magocracy any more and their governing body is instead organized through a tiered and multi-fauceted system of guilds and councils that encompass a wider array of needs and services to their people.
This makes diplomacy a 'little' difficult, but they are no strangers to drink, dance, merriment and good food and soon enough political discussion and council is running smoothly enough as it once did in old times.

>The South despite it's temperamental weather and unstable waters has seen some minor trouble from pirates: Changelings mostly; riding on the waves on a mix-mash of ships that have no business surviving such horrid and violent arctic waters. Their success is mixed and often inconsequential, but they're worth at least a mention. There's talk of kidnappings and poaching after all.

>The South also briefly talks of trade: further sources of meteoritic iron have become available and with the south melting numerous remains of ancient and gargantuan fossilized creatures have become exposed.. a long with numerous ruins of ancient buildings and structures that could hold untold treasures and bounties. They say they are eager to dwelve into themselves, to unlock and prospect what mysteries they could hold, but they are not opposed to foreign assistance.

You make an appeal for a closer relationship and closer cultural ties; they seem sympathetic, but stubborn. They claim sole ownership of the south- they are not eager to give it up.
>>
>>38995353
Let them have the South.

We just want some sort of mutual political union to be set up. Like states, each with their own governance and laws.
>>
>>38995353

They say they are eager to dwelve into themselves, to unlock and prospect what mysteries they could hold, but they are not opposed to foreign assistance.

This could be fun, and profitable. I'd be game to put this on the "list" of quests to undergo sometime.

I do worry about things that should not be though... something about ancient creatures and ruins in thawing icecaps gives me a "At The Mountains of Madness" vibe.

The main point to consider is that neither of us like slavery, and we KNOW its going on.

So the next step to strengthening ties is to make a united navy to patrol and catch would be slavers.

We continue to have one problem, that surges past everything. We don't actually have any power. We have magic, certainly, but it's currently in antiquity, where we've reached the rennaisance. We need to work with black powder more, or just advance our magic to the point where it remains relevant.

>Improve our ships and our navy. Build larger ships capable of further voyages and exploration
>Roll 7/20
>Supporting Roll 20/20
>Unquestionable support, but results "obscured" by unique intent.

You have Sails, you have flying pots, you have hovering wagons.. You...have large ships.. Your Sages, Engineers, and Craftsmen have been wondering for some time if Hymns could be used for more sophisticated travel; Flying pots may be able to "fly", but that term is being very generous. A number of your Cyclopes craftsmen guilds begin exchanging notes, drinking together, and eventually they manage to produce something worthy of being showed off.

>+Technological Development: "Sail" Driven Flying pots.
>First you get a pot, then you get a smaller pot and hang it just above the bigger pot, and with the right ingraining, channeling, and arcanistic engravings one is capable of converting and producing heated air which is capable of lifting cloth. This.. no one honestly knows why it does this, it just "does"; the sail is carried by warm air and it allows for greater lift, stability and precision when maneuvering a floating pot. It essentially turns a "floating" pot into a "flying" pot. The other bonus is that it allows you to make LARGER flying pots, pots that are at least TWICE as large and can carry upwards of at least 12 Cyclopes or 32 Gorgons... though, the cloth is very fragile; if it is torn in anyway the pot will be downgraded to a "falling" pot.

I think we really should focus on neat ways to apply or advance our magic, but technological progress can't be ignored.

that said blackpowder might not be the most useful to us (we dont have anything we wanna shoot or blow up) but if we can use it as a spring board for fuels and the understanding of combustion in engineering we could have something there.

I honestly think we should try and invent Dynamite.
It was originally made for mining afterall. That and giving oneself their own award.

>Expand our knowledge of metals and metalworking.
>Roll 70/100
>Supporting Roll 98/100
>High end success, met with amazing support. Interesting results.

Through your own experimentation and a mix of interaction between the South a number of Metals have been made aware and available to you. Their purpose and uses however remain obscured, but their physical qualities at the very least have been made somewhat known.

>+Metal Discovered: Nickel
>Nickel is a silver-like metal that is harvested and collected from both Meteorite Iron, can be summoned from the earth using Geomancy, and as well is a by product of high-grade steel or iron production. Your people have no idea what to do with it though and beyond it's ability to never seemingly rust or tarnish it's physical qualities or industrial uses remain a slight mystery.. It's magical qualities and uses though are quite blatant: Although not very powerful, Nickel takes forever to lose enchantment. Nickel can be given a hymn and it will echoe it very meekly seemingly forever.

>+Metal Discovered: Platinum
>Platinum is a mysterious and beautiful metal; often seen as the only thing more valuable than Gold to outside cultures.. within Cyclopean Culture it see's little use. Platinum though beautiful, seems to be completely unresponsive to any kind of earthly magics and is unsuitable for any kind of metal working. Panned from Rivers or Harvested from metorite deposits; the South usually just sells it to Changelings sailors for LARGE sums of goods. Though; a few sages -namely Astromancers- seem to possess an odd fascination with the metal.

Akalade has been keeping the Dragon as a pet in his Green house. >Elven Culture

While your Sages recline against a lazy, fat, lounging Dragon; plant constructs begin to prepare and serve a small picnic so that the mood is comfortable for talks on what constitutes "Elven culture".

"I assume you've had a chance to observe the changes in the moon, correct? The lights? And the increase in Colour palette, yes? You've noticed the greys, silvers, whites, teals, and pale blues? It seems they've received and activated our little care packaged.. that's good. I'm glad." Akalade quietly sips his drink while dragging out a few texts; some are written by foreign cultures, but one seems to be some kind of scrap or note book written and cataloged by Akalade himself.

"I don't know "everything" about Elven Society; I was after all specifically cultivated to investigate and bring back anything that would save 'our' world, but from what I understand it would have to be a very heavily populated, wasteful, prideful and uninsightful culture to accidentally cause it's own stagnation and near extinction. From what I vaguely remember it was a hard world to live in." He seems to pace off a little in his own thoughts. "Though, I've gathered a series of cross references and documentation of interactions between Elves and this world: there seems to be a constant theme of tall, thin, glowing, plant-using, "moon people" that have made contact and have intervened on numerous cultures and species before being expelled by usually either some divine or natural force." He spreads the text to show a large two-page illustration of "elves" being eaten and chased away back to the moon by what you recognize as the Zizz. Akalade flips through several other pages and shows the same narrative only with two other beasts: One resembling some gigantic, mountainous, horned beast with a sweeping tail and another depicting an endless, yawning, multiple-finned, whale of some kind. "It makes sense I suppose; native forces wanting to expel outsiders."

He motions for the picnic to be cleaned up and the little plant constructs do as they're told; wobbling and shifting back and forth as they carry of dishes, clean up crumbs, and fold up blankets. The Dragon as well senses the party is over and rises up from the soft grass of the green house to slowly drag it's hide over to some other distraction with all the energy of a fat house cat.

Getting up; Akalade stretches himself out and lets out a long, drawn out yawn and in between it opens up into his next set of instructions. "Now, listen; there are some things that need to be taken care of before I take my nap: I'm leaving the observatory in the hands of the Weeping-sage Cult. They've already been trained and I trust them with the equipment. I was originally going to leave the Dragon with Mycea, but she has a habit of making her pets sapient and I don't want her giving my house pet any unnecessary awareness."

Your Sage council slowly excuses themselves from the Greenhouse as Akalade escorts you out, through a tired and stern tone that shows his age his final request is thus, "I'm going to go under for my Nap, okay? I should be done in about 30 or 40 years.. Please, please, don't do anything stupid while I'm gone; specifically to the greenhouse. My cultivation chamber is in the basement of the greenhouse and the environmentally controlled biotech has been specifically calibrated. You don't have to do anything. It's automated. Please don't touch anything while I'm asleep. Please don't do any MAGIC near here while I'm asleep. Please. Please, I mean it."

>FOLIATOM'S EVENT: Foliatom Enters into the City of Dreams, where in the Gods dwell as mortals and the streets are lit by memories and the fragments of souls are bought and exchanged like common coin.

He comes to your sages in the night as a vision, as a request: His presence and calling shapes memories, imagry, and thoughts to project the need and call for assistance before enough of your sages gather from slumber and drinking to "pick up the Monolith".

Foliatom responds, his voice and image transcends time, space, and the material world; he essence coming forth as a hood of metamorphic and flowing prismatic light encompassing a peeked out face of shadow. "Hi", he is still as introverted as your people remember.

Eventually Foliatom explains that he's entered into one of the major Cities in the area and he admits to a number of things: He's horribly nervous, he doesn't like crowds, but more importantly- his Mana can be used to make purchases and that he has brought with him a fellow adventuring deity who has been a great source of encouragement and assistance; Abyzosithis, the pale maiden. She tells Foliatom she too has business with the Hydra Mother and they have joined one another on their adventure.

Foliatom does not however no where to begin his search, the way your sages see it he has these options:
(Choices incoming)
>>
>>38997922
>Foliatom mentions a force of Celestial beings; composed of pure energy and soul, they are beyond any personal selfishness and are an ultimate force of good & justice; they keep the peace. He is extremely intimidated by them, but they could be asked for fair and unbiased guidance and assistance in finding a missing person.

>Abyzosthis has been within the realm of dreams and gods much longer than Foliatom; though she's never been within the city, she says her 'kind' are always in great abundance and that they could easily seek their assistance to guide them further. "Celestial beings are all well and good, but who's to say they won't think we're bad guys?"

Ultimately your Sage council decides on the most pragmatic decision: Check both the Registration AND ask the Celestial beings for assistance.

Both Foliatom and Aby do not feel comfortable visting the Celestial beings; the prismatic and terrible light that encompass and defines their vaguely humanoid and crystalline form is gaudy and unrelenting, and even then their tone commands a sense of authority and righteous'ness that makes beings whom are comfortable living in a physical more 'free' realm very nervous. Foliatom and Aby give one another the courage to soldier on though; they find the Celestial beings to be quite helpful and cooperative if albeit a little 'doting' on what they consider to be "minors".

With the Assistance of the Celestial though their trip to the Registry goes along MUCH smoother as the Celestial authorities are more than happy to cross reference the Registry for them, but it will take some time. In the mean time the two adventurers go off to take in some of the local flavors and ask around the market place and vendors if anyone has seen anything

>Ask the people running the city if they've seen the HM or CS
This one is inconclusive; one city among many realms and this area servicing possible dozens of worlds. There's on average a million deities passing through this city at any given time; most locals only know familiar or immediate friends/family members.

>Ask the merchants, particularly those who might be concerned with travel.
Aby guides Foliatom to the docks; the channels that flow like cosmic rivers of psychic memories that connect the various pockets of sustained ethereal existence with numerous worlds and realities. It is a hub for some of the more foreign and alien beings. They find out a number of influential and foreign deities are coming in from the surrounding area for a prestigious event, but that's about it.
>>
>>38998592
>Find out more about Aby, particularly what her 'business' is with the hydramother and what exactly 'her kind' are.

Foliatom asks this while the two hang out on the Docks and watch the various Aliens and Celestial beings pass by in their down time from checking for any clues or signs of The Hydra mother. They look out onto the endless expanse of space, while idly dipping their toes in the cold, cosmic ocean of stars below.

"I don't really have any complicated or sneaky motives; I just want to go home and I think Orochidina can help. I remember you said you were born in the physical world, right? Well I wasn't. I don't remember much about being born, but I do remember lots of screaming...crying..yelling.. and then lots of nothing and -pop- here I am! I'm actually just a bit older than you- maybe 500? 400 years? Orochidina wasn't physical back then." There is a very deep, horrid, loneliness to the way she talks about herself.
The "kids" don't have any time to dwell on it though: The Celestial authorities make contact with them again and tell them their 'mother' DID pass through here and that she was headed to a formal occasion being held by some local Moon Goddess; very ritzy.

This isn't a difficult task to complete at all, your people just are not all that immediately interested in it: Rabbits are tasty, but the local flavor can never say no to Banana rat- it's just got this savory, nutty, flavor that goes well with curries. The province of Mycea's grove and the most Northern jungle community that has begun to grow into a small city have however grown a taste for Rabbits- it's become something of their own local flavor. Introduced by Changelings, easy to take care of, and great in hearty stews and roasts.. they make a much better accompanying dish for mushrooms, green vegetables. Rabbits are also very cute, though; the jurry is still out on whether or not your people think they are "good pets".

>+New Livestock: Rabbits
>Rabbits provide an inexpensive source of meat; most people do not think about it, but the addition of very 'small' easily fed animals that can be kept within homes or inside small coops are very important for peasantry meals and more 'cozier' households. Rabbits also get a long very well with Banana Rats, so the two can be penned together with minimal stress and maximum friendship.

>Find uses for the various metals we have.
>Roll 95
>Complete success, SOLID 95. Ideal results.

Your Craftsmen have been hard at work smithing and tinkering away at Nickle and platinum in order to see what they can possibly achieve with these new metals they have at their disposal. They've managed to discover the following physical and magical properties:

>+Nickel industrial use: Aquatic Steel.
>Aquatic steel is so named because it is not only a very high quality steel, but mainly due to it's resistance against rusting when exposed to water. Using an advanced forging technique that combines iron and nickel that was mutually discovered through island and southern interaction; this steel can effectively be used and relied upon underwater. It is a HOT, HOT, item among Merpersons for obvious reasons.

>+Nickel & Electrum and Gold magical use: Arcane Circuitry
>So far your people have used "pipes" engraved and crafted with a complex series of inner-worked networking golden channels within them to power your more complicated magical constructions.. and it works! It works, but it is also a hassle and completely and totally unusable for much smaller constructions. It might be expensive and it might be time consuming, but your Craftsmen are now capable of making much 'smaller' and complicated lines of Gold, Electrum, and Nickle; these metals hold and carry Hymns much more efficiently and most certainly LONGER than previous attempts, but best of all is they are 'smaller'. No more bulky pipe engines.

>+Platinum magical use: Cosmic Reverberation. Advanced/Applied Astromancy now possible.
>"Don't make me sing into the void: I cannot stand the loneliness and memories brought by the stars and I dare not imagine what will happen if it they respond. Please. It's so cold. It's so cold."

>Roll 99/100
>Better than complete success: DOUBLES, 99: Interesting results.

Silk has been the norm for a while in terms of what your people accept as clothing material and it's stretched over into every possible other use: Silk is used for sails, silk is used for handkerchiefs, etc.. the Silk Moths have their work certainly cut out for them. The only other materials honestly available are either ridiculously expensive due to being foreign or primitive alternatives: Grass fibers, woven materials, furs, pelts, etc.. Not entirely practical or always fashionable.

That was about to change.
You've finally discovered Fungal Cloth.

>+Major Textile/Clothing Invention: Fungal Cloth
>Collected from the large blue mushroom trees that dominate the denser portions of the fungal wood: Fungal cloth is harvested from old to mid growth fungal trees, pounded, dampened and soaked very briefly in a fluid, dried, pounded again, before it resembles a felt like material OR further processed until only the rubbery, soft, micro-structures remain to produce an almost cotton-like material. Fungal cloth is VERY elastic, incredibly strong, and also breaths very well. It makes AMAZING sails, astounding jungle-suitable clothing, and if it wasn't so difficult to dye would probably make excellent formal wear as well. Although the material is difficult to dye; it naturally comes in tones of blue or teal.

>Commune with the Hydra Mother and/or Cosmic Snake. Ask them what the hell happened
>Roll 20/20
>Support roll 20/20
>DOUBLE 20/20 20/20

Your Sages think to cut the middle man out -no offense made to the brave Foliatom- and they decide to directly contact the Hydra Mother and the Cosmic Snake; either one will due you imagine. You begin the preparations in earnest like they had been done in ancient times when they existed as nothing but stars and moonlight: What Electrum you can gather is scrounged up and Fungal wood is Gathered to be carved into snake figure heads with carvings and grooves of inlaid electrum. A number of 'official' sacred texts are also copied and ordered specifically from the Gorgon Empire.

The ritual begins within the highest levels of the Arcanum where in sits the pool of Mana and the remaining fragment of the ancient golden lightening bolt is used as a medium itself. There has never been such an extravagant and well coordinated orchestra of magical prowess within your civilization before and it is unlikely there will be one within your immediate future. The Stars cannot ignore your symphony, but it is not they who respond.

It is the Moon.
Coming down on a beam of light with such strength and majesty; the pool of mana glows and splashes over with a welcoming and enticing light that slowly rises up with supernatural intent and will to give birth to a humanoid form as the atmosphere surrounding the arcanum alights with the heavy all encompassing presence of a TRUE GOD.

You hear her words, "You did it." There's laughter, honest, and genuine, gleeful, contagious laughter that echoes across your minds, ears, and hearts. "You did it, you did it, you did it!!"
The Moon is here.

Her form is of immaculate and unquestionable divinity; she is the first genuine god your people have ever physically encountered and her mere presence is mild to noticeably physically and mentally draining. She takes the form of a pale almost blue-hued, dimly glowing humanoid woman; her hair is such a deep, deep, blue that it is almost black but still -to the contrary- possess sparkling highlights of teals, silvers, and greys. Her physical features though are quite unusual: Her arms are noticeably very long, they do not follow the same proportions as humanoid species upon your world and instead extend slightly farther down- almost to her knees, with long, grasping, delicate fingers.

Her forehead is quite large, but it is not "gaudy" or unattractive; it forms a ridge that feeds into a rack of Hexagonal, blue, crystalline Antlers that tilt slightly over where her hair begins; giving her a flowing and intrinsically regal look. Her Ears are nothing special; they are simple, pointed, folded slightly, and reminiscent of a deer or rabbits, but her eyes.. they're ringed with a blue colouration and the eyes themselves hold a deep, almost disturbing, perpetual and cosmic gaze.

Still half lounging in the pool of Mana, her divine presence body can barely fit in what is little more than a shallow pool. "You did it, Children. You've seen the moon, correct? All you." She seems to be referring to your involvement in the revitalization of the moon. "You know God's don't usually do this; come down in a physical expression and hob nob with the commoners, but Commoners don't typically save worlds. I'm thankful. Immensely."

As expected of us, we cyclops have once again saved the day by pure, inexplicable, random chance. Bring out the drinks!
>>
>>39000937
You are welcome, it's kind of a hobby of ours.

Say, you didn't happen to see the Hydra Mother at that swank party of yours a short while back, have you? We're pretty sorry how we sent back the way we did. Could you tell her that her son is looking for her, and that the Cyclops are terribly sorry about the whole affair if you see her up there?
>>
>>39000937

She goes on to elaborate on the exact importance of what you've done: "A world's magic is dependent on both the quality and quantity of it's SOULS and the mass extinction of a planet's vivid and diverse life can starve a world's magic through sheer lack of diverse soul mass. This wasn't about just physically existing: I could have literally died. The Elves aren't going to be too happy over what I'm going to do to them per-say, but I think at this point I'm willing to settle for QUANTITY over QUALITY", she ends her little speech with a sly moon wink before the formal festivities start and your sages begin to get a word in edge wise.

"Oh, OH, this is about Orochidina and the Cosmic Serpent? You know, her real name is Wadlatoc, right? I know, it's hideous- oh, oh, she hadn't told you. Well, now I've made everything awkward, heh." While food is being served and her godly form is being ogled; your sages explain the situation in between catching glimpses at her weird, supple alien body. Priorities, after all.

You tell her of your little accident, of wanting to take it back, your desire to separate the two goddesses and as well bringing back the Hydra Mother.. but also how you're conflicted about her physical presence returning. She mills over everything you said, but then does a spit take when you mention Foliatom. "Excuse me? Folia-tom? Gonna have to look that one u- oh, oh my me, oohhhh, oh that's RICH." She laughs, her breasts dip slightly in and out of the mana when her shoulders lift, but your sages find the "snorts" she ends her laughs on to be horribly unattractive. "My word, that is amazing. I love it. That's perfect. That grossly simplifies things- does the SUN know? Oh my me, I have to tell the SUN later."
>>

>>
>>39001317
Its a name he was given by Hydramother... People give other people names, they don't name themselves. How else do you get a name?

All this casual talking from MOON is sort of starting to make me feel insignificant.

The other two gods had their own names BEFORE they were named by the Hydra Mother. Only Foliatom was an entirely 'new' god.
>>
So does the moon goddess owe us a favor then?

Also! Ask her if she will stay
>>
>>39001240

She raises her hand and a small, quaint, controlled blue flame that mirrors a gateway into a foreign and alien realm bursts forth from her palm. She speaks delicately into it while she responds in kind to your Sages, "Here, I will grossly simplify everything: The sweet child Foliatom is currently in the City of dreams, so is his mommy and his aunt Wadlatoc. I will invite them all to my Grand Lunar ball; there will be eating, drinking, merry-making, loving reunions, and then I will personally send them back home.. after I've had a word with them...Pardon?"

Your Sages have forgotten, but one of them remembers to mention Foliatom's friend: Abyzosthis
The "Moon" sucks in air and lets out a small 'tsk'. "That, is.... That, that makes things a little complicated. She's a demon you know? I mean, she's not a bad demon, but she's a demi-god sized spirit created by the deceased conglomeration of an entire generation simultaneously aborted beings: Poisoned Mana. I don't doubt she's probably a very sweet girl, but not everyone is very receptive of a demi-goddess of still-birth revenge and rotten eggs."
The Deity becomes thoughtful for a moment and gently nods her head back and forth while connecting the dots, "Ohhh...! Her being friends with Foliatom... ahhh- right, right that makes sense. Well that is absolutely adorable."

She snaps her fingers, "Well it's your call. I'm willing to bring her over as well, but you know what they say about meeting people you've only met through an ethereal contact" She laughs loudly at her own joke. Your people are still 3,000 years to young to understand her reference.

>>
If we integrate her into our culture, well, there does need to be a goddess of stillbirth, someone to take care of the souls of those who failed to be born you know?

Someone who seeks righteous revenge.

Things calm down and the Moon Goddess begins to relax; she calls for the other local earthly deities to arrive as she wishes to take this opportunity to personally meet them and make a judge of their character:

>Mycea: Mother & Father of Fungi, Demi-god of harvest, ex-slave of elves & physical expression of the moon.
Mycea is the first one to arrive, frankly you'd have to invest a successful roll of higher than 16 to stop her: she's personally made the trip over in her Avatar form and is all too quick to climb up the Arcanum and squeeze into the hall. The Two greet one another like a pair of distance cousins and their swapping of stories, gardening secrets, and even idly hobbies is both comforting and disarming. Until finally Mycea begins to weep a little and apologizes and thanks you prefusly; she evens goes so far as to kneel down and bow her head before your sages.
"This is just this is, it's just. You didn't have to, you never had to do anything of this, you didn't owe us anything- " she hasn't seen the moon in a very, very, very, long time. The Moon holds her, "I miss your Humility, Mycea. You're a good girl and a proper Lady." Your Sages get in on that hug action as well; hugs all around- The Moon's freakishly long Alien limbs are perfect for group hugs.
>>
>>39001715
So wait, did the elves already know about Mycea and worship her possibly AND THEN enslaved her?

Wow that's shitty. How the hell did that happen?
>>
>>39001715
We have to tell Mycea about Aby. You know, give her time to get used to it.

I get her fear of the Red World. The death of an entire world would produce truly monstrous demons, perhaps an entire demon world that resembles Hell itself.

But Aby is different. Aby is our mistake and we're responsible for her.
>>
>>39001757
>Aby is our mistake
Easily our favorite mistake.

Maybe second most favorite if we count parrats too.

Honestly we should introduce her to them. They'd be spiritually invigorated by having a god of their own...

I mean we get art and love, merfolk get seas and hunting... it isn't a cheap regift to give them The God of Miscarriages Rotten Eggs And Revenge.

they could maybe do with a little revenge.

>Anthochipilli: Tender Child, fledgling demi-god of Art, Beauty, Culture and Love.
He's the second to arrive; not wanting to miss out on the festivities, but mostly very dearly missing his brother. He's dressed to the nines, with a flowing partial gown of incomparable oceanic beauty and his silver hair and gorgeous coral horns accompanied by a small elderitch-style, writhing, blinking, mass he's made into a flower for his hair. He's bashful. He's not in the mood to party. He very discreetly joins the celebration and mostly keeps to himself; idly making small talk with some of the non-sagely civilian guests who have slowly begun feeding in from the general public.
"This. Who is that?" Mycea and your Sages fill her in on the details and she does some cross-referencing herself. She leans and lounges back on her arms to show of her chest a little more, "He's adorable. Call him over." Mycea waves her 'son' over, "Chilly, could you come over here? There's someone who wants to say hi!" Anthochipilli freezes like a deer in the headlights; only very slowly and bashfully moving to brush the hair from his one shocked eye.
The Moon gives him one of her famous "moon" winks and beckons him over; He blushes to such a vivid hue of pink that it can only be percieved by certain species of parrots and parrats, but he eventually awkwardly slides over and the moon confidentially slides her long arm over his shoulder- her reach is long enough to nearly clasp the side of his butt.
"There we go, isn't this better? Your mother tells me your a demi-god of Reefs, Beauty, Art... The Tide... I find that 'very' interesting you know.." Mycea whispers something into the Moon's flicking ear and her body language becomes less obvious. "Right, right, sorry, sorry; toning it down. Our planet is mildly Barren, Mycea- you'll forgive me if I'm not at least a little 'eager' to repopulate it." Anthochipilli is now hiding his face in his hands; he's quite embarrassed.

The second last guest to arrive:
>Zetoscea: Rowdy Child, Daughter of the tide and fledgling demi-goddess of storms & future huntress of the deep.
She arrives by sea of course with a small accompanying entourage of Merpeople and some Southern Cyclopeans who are eager to mingle into the holy Mixer. The rowdy Amphibious demi-goddess slaps down a massive, recently slain, sea serpent as a "house warming gift" that the sages quickly cart off to have butchered and served. She's eager to join in the party, raising her hand and letting of a psychic echoing equivalent of, "Life of the party has arrived. Who's the creepy cosmic cougar unabashedly aggressively molesting my little brother?" Anthochipilli raises two fingers to his temple and mentally signals back a "help me" before the Moon shoves the young demi-deity back into her bosom.
Zetoscea and The moon seem to get a long quite well, your people had never much contact with the tidal daughter, but they're shocked by how abrasive, offensive, and rustic her sense of humor is.
The moon finds her absolutely charming.

The party eventually comes to the subject of Akalade and the party goers see the Moon's ears visibly perk up and become quite attentive; rising up like a deer's while they sway left and right. "Oh! Is Akalade coming? I would love to meet Akalade! Akalade seems to be the only Humanoid native to my realm that I can trust these days..Oh? Oh. Oh.." She sucks in air and does a small 'tsk', "Well that's unacceptable; I'm going over there and doing something about that. I am the MOON; I'm sure I can rush thing- Oh, oh hello wh-"

Some of the Moontouched Cyclopes arrive; through the generations almost all of them have come to have two-heads and even some of the non-blue skin hued among them seem to carry the gene now. The Moon's mood dampens and she settles back down, "Oooh..ohh my...oh.." There's a long pause as she slowly walks over to them, "You're beautiful" She gets down on her knees and leans down low to the ground so they may hold one another at equal level, "You're so beautiful". There's a deep tinge of sadness and an almost apologetic tone to her. She knows.
She knows she's responsible for this.
She's sorry, but she doesn't want them to feel their horrible or mutated, because they aren't. They're just different and she genuinely believes them to be beautiful, but she understands if not everyone thought so.
"Don't worry" She whispers to them, "Things will be different now, I'm here, I'm back. No more Riddles, no more silence. I'm here now."

The party goes late into the evening and there is much merry making to be bad and very little sleep. When the sun begins to slowly peek over the horizon everyone sense that the their guest of honor will most likely be returning home soon as per the norm of fables, fairy tales, and legends.
The Moon quietly helps with the clean up of the party along side Mycea and before long she's standing before everything and repeating her promise to bring back Foliatom and his little friend Abyzosthis, as well as return the Hydra mother after a stern talking. She's about to make her goodbyes when her ears begin to flicker and she joins Mycea on the one of the tiered ledges of the Arcanum; over looking a city dotted and lined with jungle-grown streets.
Mycea seems pleased, "He's coming, you can sense him, right?" The Moon is about ready to burst out of her skin, "Daughter, I can SMELL him."

The Session is nearing it's ending.
Akalade is awake.
Akalade is awake and arriving on Dragon back.
His seriously out of shape pet Dragon that lands with a loud, fat, slap on the stone floor and immediately charges over to dip his head in the mana pool to regain his stamina; with all the composure and traction of a cat on a marble floor.
Akalade is back to being little, "Hello your highness; I wouldn't miss this for, well, the 'world'" They both laugh at their own terrible joke before they begin to openly weep and the moon scoops up Akalade in her elongated hands.
"You've Exceeded every single expectation. I'm so sorry for what they did to you."

With Akalade clutched and delicately scooped in her long alien fingers she brings the small elven construction to her cheek and holds him close. "You will be rewarded; you will be rewarded beyond any expectation you could ever possibly perceive. You've done a great service to me, to our world, and to a people who clearly did not deserve it. YOU are a TRUE son of Aquis and I love you."

You have a very difficult decision to make here: The Moon wants to take back Akalade and she also wants to "borrow" Anthochipilli.

>"I'm going to be completely upfront with you: He's got a lot of good genetics in him and his soul possesses the psychic memories of dozens if not millions of marine life that I would be stupid not to bring back to the moon and, well, "breed" it out of him. I do though promise to return him: I cannot promise that he will be the same person though." Anthochipilli is nervous, but he finds it romantic: The prospect of saving and revitalizing a world on the brink of extinction through love. It would be an adventure worthy of telling stories about..hopefully not all of them would be dirty.

>Akalade's motivations don't need much elaboration, "I've cherished our time spent together, but I'm not going to pass up the opportunity to essentially be the high-priest of an entire planet and personal attendant to it's physical avatar. The political and actual substantial power I'll be able to wield will be substantial and dramatic: I'll be able to bring lasting and constructive change to the Moon. It's all I've ever wanted" There's a brief pause, "Also they made me and now I get to rule over them; how can I pass up that cruel irony to be their immortal king?" He giggles to himself; this isn't goodbye. The Moon King Akalade promises to visit.

This will be your final action before we call it a night: What do you say? Will you agree to let them go for now?

Your people hastily craft their friends little Micro-Monoliths that they can carry with them on their journey back to the moon; there many sad good byes to be had, but The Moon begins to express urgency.

"I know this has been all fun and games, but if I don't return shortly the Sun isn't going to be happy: True Gods aren't supposed to directly intervene with mortals and I've been pretty much partying, drinking, eating barbecue with my breasts hanging out for like 12 solid hours." She takes a knee as she places her palms on the ground; an unsettling, unfolding, disgusting flesh and bone snapping sound crackles from her as her back begins to split and open up reveal humongous, glistening, prismatic and beautiful wings made out of the same crystalline material as her Antlers only strung and stretched impossibly thin.

"I'm sure you're not going to hear this again in a long time, but I need to fly my boys back up the moon before the sun gets cranky with us.." She spreads her moth-like wings and they expel a vivid and radiant light that is cool to the touch of on lookers faces as she slowly rises from the ground with no physical push back.

Everyone waves goodbye before in an instant she zips away withAkalade and Anthochipilli in hand in a beam of concentrated lunar light that resonates a pleasant "chiming" sound as opposed to some kind of booming air-pulse. It's entirely surreal.

And that's a night

Nah, this week makes up for it. Just remember, when you do a cliff hanger, don't do it with the resolution of the conflict. Do it RIGHT BEFORE the climax.
