You are Siegfried Schmidt, a former guard from the city of Morsland. Due to various circumstances, you have become the temporary wielder of Galadriel, a holy sword which houses a powerful six-winged angel of the same name. Now you have come to the White Watchtower, a fortress close to the border between the Forsaken Lands and the kingdom of Iseria, to train with the crusaders so that you can protect yourself from the demons that might come after you now that the sword is in your possession.

The raven you captured while on patrol turned out to be just that; a normal, completely innocent bird. However, it turns out he knew where the missing girl from Llynn was taken, and so you and your friends went out to investigate. Sure enough, there was a farm just a few miles out from the border, where she was likely taken. Unfortunately, while investigating you drew the attention of a demonic border patrol, and had to separate from your friends, drawing them after you while your friends escaped. You almost managed to escape, but they finally managed to capture you in a clearing, and have taken you to the farm. You're not sure what awaits you now, but the jailkeeper mentioned something about games...

The four-armed demon escorts you from your cage and down a stone street, towards a stone arena which reminds you of the arena back at Morsland, though this one is much smaller. Curiously, the jailkeeper does not bind your arms after opening your cell, nor does he seem to care about the dagger on your belt. Maybe it's because he's confident you won't escape if your run...or perhaps he's daring you to try it. Either way, you play along for now, as running now when you don't know anything about your surroundings would only end with you being caught. Speaking of your surroundings, you're surprised by how normal this place looks. Ignoring the occasional four-armed demon like the one escorting you, this "farm" looks like it could easily pass for a normal settlement back home. You see that there are houses, and even what appear to be stores here. You even pass by other people on the streets, unaccompanied by guards.

'This is weird.' You say to Galadriel, currently disguised as a normal dagger at you belt. 'We're on a farm, right? I thought it would be more...intimidating, I guess? This just looks like a normal town.'

'Don't be fooled.' Galadriel responds. 'Though this may look like a normal town, it is anything but. I do not know what's going on here, but if this is a farm, then there is surely something amiss here.'

Now that she mentions it, something does feel off about this place. You notice how everyone on the street keeps their heads down, minding their own business . Crowds on the streets immediately part when your jailkeeper approaches, and whenever you look at one of the pedestrians they immediately turn away, avoiding eye contact.
>>
>>38975757
Finally you arrive at the arena, and immediately it becomes apparent what sort of games these demons have in store. The stone floors of this arena are stained red with dried blood, some of it very fresh. In the stands, you see more four-armed bull demons like the one that escorted you here, it seems they are the most common type of demons here. Directly in front of you is a platform roped off from the rest of the seats with a stone throne, you'd wager it's for some sort of VIP or whoever's in charge here. To the sides of the arena, you see heavy metal gates, connected to a winch in the stands. On the arena floor itself, you see that there are other people here as well, lined up in a straight line in the center of the arena. Most of them look like normal villagers, probably snatched up by Scavengers and brought here. Some of them look as young as 14, and one looks like he could be 50 years old. They looks around the stadium in confusion, some of them are visible shaking.

"Alright new blood, fall in line and wait for the games to start." Your jailkeeper commands, giving you a hard push towards the line of contestants.

>Obey, get in line without another word.
>Ask Galadriel about the demons here. She might know something that could help you escape.

You do as you're told for now, no need to go getting into trouble yet. However, you press Galadriel for information about the four-armed bull demons here while you wait for the "games" to start.

'Galadriel, what do you know about these demons here? They look pretty mean, so their vice has to be wrath, right?'

Galadriel is slow to respond, as she racks her brain for any relevant information. Finally, she replies.

'I do not know.'

Alright, so that means you just have to-wait, what?

'You don't know?'

'I do not.'

'How? I thought you were an expert on this sort of stuff, you're telling me you don't know anything at all about these guys?'

'I know nothing of these demons, for I have never encountered them before. I have fought with the smallest of imps and the largest of demon lords, but these ones I have never seen before. They must be some new form of demon, one that did not exist during the days of the crusades.'

'A new type of demon? Is that even possible?'

'It is rare, but yes. Though by their appearance I would say it is safe to assume that their vice is Wrath. They appear very similar to the monsters your kind calls minotaurs as well, so it may be safe to assume they are at least as strong as their look-alikes. I wish I could say more, but I fear there is nothing else I can guess at this time.'

So it looks like you're in the dark here, surrounded by demons even Galadriel has never seen before. Great, just what you needed.

Before you can ask anything else of Galadriel, another bull-demon steps out from behind the curtains on the throne platform and speaks loudly for everyone to hear.

"Ladies and gentlemen! We bring these Unblooded before you to the arena for their first taste of battle! As is tradition, the Unblooded will face off against the Initiated, to prove their strength and cut out the weak who have somehow managed to make it this far into the ranks. Should they prove themselves, they will have earned their right to live."

Unblooded? You think he's talking about you and the others out here with you. You don't know who "The Initiated" is supposed to refer to though, but it sounds like you'll be fighting people who have been here longer than you.

The announcer continues. "Now, if all will stand in reverence for our lord and master."

The rest of the demons in the stands get up on their feet, bowing their heads in reverence. From behind the curtain, a new figure appears. Like the other demons here, this new figure looks similar to a humanoid bull. However, his skin does not look like burning coals, and he only has two arms instead of four. His armor does not cover his arms, and the breastplate bears the resemblance of a human skull. He steps forward and looks over you and the other mortals standing in the arena, a cruel smile across his face.

From the back of your mind, you feel Galadriel burst with emotion. Panic, anger, concern, amongst others.

'Siegfried.' She says to you, her voice tense. 'Whatever you do, do not draw attention to yourself here.'

The apparent leader here takes his seat on the stone throne and gazes upon you and the other contestants. Finally, his eyes settle on you, and he points a viciously clawed finger at you.

"You." He says, voice rough like gravel. "You shall be the first to fight. Take a weapon from the rack and stand over there. The rest of you, wait in the stands for your turn."

The others oblige, following the demon who led you out here into the stands. You see a weapon's rack standing next to the wall, where you were told to stand.

If we don't know what we're up against a Halberd is a pretty good option. Unless it's one of those flying fucks, we're best off with this.
>>
>>38976650
You head to the weapon's rack and consider your options. A polearm would be a good choice, since you're unsure what you're going to face, so you decide to grab a halberd. You note that the weapons are all coated in dried blood, and many are in poor shape as well, making you think they don't even try to maintain them. You manage to find one in good enough shape, and take a stance where you were told to stand.

All the while, you question Galadriel on her reaction to the farm's leader. Her reaction was very concerning, to say the least.

'Who is that?' You ask, looking to the demon sitting on his stone throne. 'It sounds like you know who he is.'

Even before you ask her, you can feel her enmity for him. 'Indeed, I know him.' She replies. 'I had hoped you would never run across him.'

'Well who is it?' You ask, a grim theory starting to form in your head.

'That is Alastor, the Lord of Wrath.' She answers, not even trying to hide her hatred.

Wait, a LORD? What in the Void is a demon lord doing here?! You start to grow very nervous, you'd heard stories about Malaphas's demon lords, all of them nasty. Even after you became Galadriel's temporary champion, you had hoped you would never run into one. You spoke with her a few times about them, just in case, but actually being close to one is a completely different matter.

'You must remain calm.' Galadriel tells you strictly. 'Alastor is a very dangerous man, so you -must- remain calm, and do not attract attention to yourself. With luck, he will not take note of you and we can find a way to escape.'

You take a deep breath. Calm, that's easier said than done, but considering what may happen to if you don't, you do your damnedest to remain calm.

Finally, the gate on the opposite side of the arena is opened, and a bizarre figure walks out. He appears human, all except for his head, which looks like hot coals, and bears two long bull-like horns. His eyes glow red, and the veins in his arm are clearly visible, even from across the stadium. In his hands, he carries a wicked looking axe.

Upon seeing you, he licks his chops eagerly, revealing several rows of sharp teeth. "Ah, how I love to fight the Unblooded. They always make such easy meals." He taunts, letting out a crazed laugh.

>"Easy meal, huh? We'll see about that."
>"Damn, but you are one ugly bastard. Were you always this ugly, or did that come after whatever weird shit they did to you here?"

>>
>>38977257
You say nothing. After all, you're trying to avoid standing out here. You take your stance, and wait for him to come to you.

The bizarre figure charges towards you, completely reckless and undisciplined. You can't tell if whatever the demons did to him drove him mad, or if he's just so caught up in his bloodlust that he doesn't care. Regardless, you let him come to you, waiting for the right chance to strike.

The axe wielding maniac roars in anger, glaring at you with it's burning red eyes. This time he is more careful, trying to bat away your defensive jabs as he advances.

Your opponent seems to be growing frustrated by his inability to hit you, and you see his eyes begin to glow brighter.

"GAAAAHHH! I'll rip your throat out!" He declares, making another reckless charge. You get the impression that by now he's so caught in bloodlust that he's ceased to worry about what damage he may take in his attack. He might do something very reckless now.

You take a deep breath, and feign a panicked scream as best you can.

"AAAAHHHHIDONTWANNADIE"

Then you charge at your reckless opponent, who is caught off guard by your panicked screams. You stab him right in the eye, the force of your charge combined with his own driving the halberd's point right into his brain. He's almost flipped by the momentum, landing flat on his back, very much dead.

However, you realize you need to continue the act, and continue to stab the dead mutant repeatedly. Finally, one of the four-armed demons pulls you away from him, and takes the halberd from your hands.

"Alright, that's enough. He's dead already." He tells you, dragging you back to the stadium. Looking up at the throne, you see Alastor resting his head on his fist, seemingly amused.

"Hm hm hm." He laughs softly. "It's always amusing to see how you mortals handle your first kill."

Well, you suppose that means he bought your act. That's good, at least. The demon carrying you back to the stands releases you, and instructs you to sit apart from the others, right at the edge of the arena.

"Now then." Alastor says, standing up and gazing at the others who have not gone yet. The people shudder at his gaze. He examines them, carefully considering them all, before pointing to one of the younger ones, you'd guess him to be around 14 years old.

"You. You shall be the next to fight." He commands, causing the boy's eyes to go wide, before one of the demons pushes him to get walking. He walks down to the same area where you stood earlier, and pulls a sword and shield from the rack.
>>

Ah fuck here we go
>>
>>38978571
The gate lifts again, revealing another one of the mutated humans. Unlike the last one, this one's head is perfectly normal, but both of his arms look like hot coals, and bear sharp claws. He carries no weapon, so you assume he plans to fight with his claws instead.

The fight isn't even a contest. The boy is too scared to take any initiative. Instead, he hides behind his shield, trying to deflect each of the mutant's attacks without fighting back. Finally, the boy takes a desperate swing at the mutant, who grabs the sword in his hands and actually breaks it in two. You are reminded of the poor condition the weapons at the rack were in, was this what they wanted to happen?

Before he can act, the mutant grabs the young kid by the throat, holding him above his head triumphantly. It looks like he's going to finish the kid off now.

>You can't watch this. Jump into the arena and intervene.
>Shout something to distract the mutant. It's not much, but it might distract him long enough for the boy to escape his grasp.

I've seen it, people play like it is noble bright easy mode and then QM's lay into the pain.

Unlike table top, rolling a new character on these threads is a real pain, or else the quest dies.
>>
>>38978923
TBH, i've always liked the quest dying with the character if it comes to that.
Make a new quest in the same setting if you have to, but playing as a different character in the same quest name as if nothing happened feels wrong somehow.

>>

And thats the problem, QM's who can't or don't handle those things well.

But the quest dying as a result isn't a good thing, with a tabletop game you can roll up a new char and continue on and still see references of that character and their legacy, but in a quest it just ends with no closure, no satisfation, just a lot of sadness and anger, not good things.
>>
>>38978592
You're sorely tempted to jump in and save the kid yourself, but if you do then you'll surely draw attention to yourself. However, you can't just sit around and do nothing, so you shout out and try to grab the mutant's attention.

"HEY, over here you ugly bastard!" You shout out, trying to draw the mutant's attention from the kid. The mutant turns to look at the audacious person insulting him, giving the kid an opening. In a final act of desperation, the kid plunges the remaining half of his sword, broken off in a sharp point, into the mutant's temple. It glides into his skull, causing the mutant to go limp, releasing his hold on the kid, who falls to the ground next to the mutant's lifeless body.

Several of the four-armed demons shout in protest, some of them turning to glare at you while others point a wicked claw at you and shout their protests to their lord. Finally, Alastor stands from his throne and holds out his hand.

"SILENCE!" He demands, causing everyone in the arena to stop talking. It becomes so quiet, you can hear the boy hyperventilating on the arena floor, before he turns around and vomits onto the ground.

"I will not hear protest against this." Alastor continues, his voice loud enough to be heard loud and clear even from the stands. "A kill is a kill, it matters not how it was done. This fool let his guard down, a mistake worthy of death even against the lowliest of opponents. He got what he deserved."

This causes all the demons to stop their protests, each of them slowly sitting back down.
>>

"Now, as for you." He says, pointing a claw at you. "You, who has already passed his trial, spoke out to distract our Initiate and save this whelp." He gestures to the vomiting kid, who freezes up when the Lord of Wrath acknowledges him. "Why would you do that? Do you know how easily I could have you killed for your actions?"

Ah shit, you've drawn attention to yourself. Quickly, you scramble for an answer that won't get you killed. In the end, you decide to just speak the truth.

"For Aureus sake, he's a kid! What was I supposed to do?"

Alastor considers your answer, a cruel smile starting to creep across his face.

"I see. Then you were willing to risk you life, all for some whelp you probably don't even know. What about the rest of them then? Will you do the same for everyone now? Or better yet, maybe I should have them all killed so next time you'll think twice about interfering?"

As he says this, the demons in the stand grab the others and hold their claws to their necks. The others scream and squirm, trying to break free, but they maintain their hold, waiting for their lord to give the order.

You reach out a hand towards them reflexively, only stopping yourself because you realize they might kill them immediately if you move forward. In the back of your mind, you can feel Galadriel's anger burning to the surface. In fact, you can almost feel the dagger at your belt begin to heat up. There's a brief flicker of confusion on Alastor's face, but he quickly shakes it off, still grinning like a madman.

"Let them go." He commands, and the demons release their prisoners, who fall to their knees and grasp at their throats, heaving for air.
>>
>>38979714
Alastor stands up from his throne, and turns way back towards the curtains. "That will be all for today." He says. "Send the 'hero' to the Bloodied's quarter. The rest of them go back to the slums until further notice." With that, he disappears behind the curtains.

The four-armed demons force the others to stand, and escort them out of the arena. They do the same for the kid you just saved, presumably leading them back to the cages. After they've left, one of the four-armed demons approaches you, and hands you a strange silver coin with a red drop of blood printed on it's face.

"You're lucky Lord Alastor found your actions amusing." He tells you gruffly. "You are now one of the Bloodied, this is the proof of your rank. Don't lose it, or you'll be treated like any other Unblooded in the streets. You'll find a place to sleep in the northwest section of the farm."

>"Bloodied? Unbloodied? What does all of that mean, and what's the difference."

"Bloodied? Unblooded? What does all that mean, and what's the difference."

"You've proven yourself worthy of keeping around for the time being. So, as declared by Lord Alastor, you're to be given more rights than others. The Unblooded are those who haven't proven themselves, the Bloodied are those who have proven themselves worthy of living, and the Initiated are those who've proven themselves worthy of Lord Alastor's blessing."

You raise an eyebrow. "Blessing? Is that what turns people into those strange mutants."

The demon groans. "Yes. Those that continue to prove themselves eventually change completely, becoming true demons, like us."

So then Alastor is turning people here into demons. From what the others said though, farms like this are just meant to torment mortals so the demons can feed off their negative emotion. They never said anything about creating more, so why is Alastor doing so here? You don't think that's something you could ask this guy, so you move to a different question.

"'The northwest section? I'm going to need better instructions than that."

Now the demon doesn't even try to hide his indifference. "Haa, look, just go to the northwest section and find a house to sleep in. Show them the token and pick a bed if there's room. Void, you talk to much, just figure the rest out yourself!"

With that rude comment, the demon stomps off. You'd say something rude right back to him, if you weren't currently in a farm surrounded with his kind. Well, it looks like you're on your own now, so you suppose you'll just have to figure out anything else on your own, or ask one of the other mortals here.

Well, you have nothing better to do, so you decide to just wander around for now. Before you go though, you remember the demon telling you not to lose your token, so you hide it in your shoe just in case. From the sound of it, tokens are probably a very profitable thing for pickpockets to snatch here.

You wander around aimlessly for a bit, examining the "town". It seems the northwest area of town is the normal side of town, where one could confuse it for a normal town outside of the Forsaken Lands. Moving south though, you find that a very large chunk of the farm is slums, where you suppose the "Unblooded" are forced to stay. The only way to get from the Bloodied to the Unblooded section is through a passage guarded by demons, who require you to show them your token before letting you through. The northeast section you are unable to see, as the guards won't let you through. It seems that part of the farm is reserved for the Initiated.

As you explore, you check the perimeter of the town, looking for a way to escape. There is a gate in the Unblooded section of the farm, but it is heavily guarded by demons. The rest of the town is blocked off by a solid stone wall, which you find no weaknesses in. It looks like escaping from here will be difficult, to say the least.

Sitting down to rest after walking all over the farm, you look up in the tree to see a black bird sitting in the branches. Wait a moment, that bird looks kind of-

"Siegfried?"

Okay, not only does it look familiar, but apparently it sounds familiar too. If you're not mistaken, that's the bird that helped you and the others find the farm in the first place. This time though, rather than speaking to you telepathically, you can hear it's voice loud and clear.

>"Holy shit, are you the raven from the forest near Llynn?"

You hold a finger up to your mouth. "Shh! Keep it down, someone might here you."

The raven bobs it's head understandingly. You look around for a safe place to speak with the raven, and find an alley between the wall and a broken down building. You go there, check around to make sure no one is within earshot, and breath a sigh of relief.

"Sweet Aureus in the Void, you're a sight for sore eyes. Did the others send you?"

"Yes. Others sent me. Told to go to farm, find Siegfried, let them know if you're alright."

"Alright, that's good to hear. Wait a minute, are you talking? How?"

"Familiar pact, made with Joan. Now I speak."

Oohh, that makes sense. So after you disappeared, you guess Joan decided to make a pact with the raven to help communicate with you. That would also explain why the raven's sentences sound a little more structured than before.

"Also, Erika say to tell you if I see you that she's going to kick your ass."

...Oh, that's right. Well, you'll take an ass kicking over being stuck here any day of the week, so you decide to cross that bridge when you get there.

"Okay, well tell them I'm at the farm and I'm safe for the time being. Galadriel is here with me as well. Where are the others? Are there any plans to help me get out of here, free the others?"

You're not sure if birds can fidget nervously, but this raven does something close. "They are back at watchtower. Want to help you, liberate farm, but..."

"But..?"

"But captain is reluctant. Want to help too, but afraid to invade Forsaken Land. Worried might inspire retaliation. Worried king will cut resources if they stir trouble."

You can't believe what you're hearing. IS he saying the knight-captain is going to just leave you and everyone else here to rot? What the Void?!

"But not give up yet, don't worry. Seeking permission, trying to get king to allow liberation."

You sigh with relief. "Okay, that's good. For a second, I thought you were going to say he isn't going to do anything. Exactly how long will it take him to get permission?"

"No idea. Could be week, could be month, might not get permission at all. King very scared of demons, not want to go to crusade."

Great, so basically, you're stuck here without help for a week at best, and for good at worst.

"Well what about Galadriel? They're not planning to just let her fall into demon hands, are they?"

"That other thing I come about. Captain says, he want you to talk to Galadriel, convince her to let me carry back. Not abandoning you, just precaution to make sure Galadriel safe if worst come to worst."

'Absolutely not.' Galadriel tells you not even two seconds after the raven finishes.

This isn't just a regular farm. Alastor is using it to convert people into demons. The longer they drag their feet, the longer the enemy's got got to build an army right at the border line.

The raven bobs it's head in a sort of nod. "I tell him that. Might not like it, but I'll tell him."

"That's not all though." You continue. "This isn't an ordinary farm, they're not just kidnapping people to feed off them. They're mutating them into demons, possibly building an army. Alastor is here too, not sure if he lives here but if he doesn't it would be best to wait until he leaves before doing an attack."

You're not sure if the raven knows who Alastor is, but it seems to make note of the name. "Anything else?" It asks.

"Just that there are people suffering here. Tell the captain if he's a true crusader, he'll get his ass in gear and come liberate this place, permission or no."

"I'm not sure he'll like that, but if you insist..." The raven says. With that, it flies off, presumably back towards the tower, leaving you and Galadriel alone once more.

Could we maybe weapon shift into a grappling hook, and make it over the wall, or an arrow with a rope or something?
They wouldn't expect someone to be able to make it over the wall in a random place without supplies to climb it, right?
>>
>>38981665
You could try tying a rope to Galadriel's arrows, yes. It's a very tall wall though, someone is sure to see you if you do that. Plus, you'd have to leave everyone else behind for the time being.
>>
>>38981728
Are all areas of the wall guarded, or just the entryways? Or would we even have a way of knowing?
If they don't have random patrols on either side of the wall, I'd say go for it, if the chance presents itself. Besides, as it stands now, any attempt to help any of the Unbloodied will probably lead to both our deaths.
>>
Oh, maybe we should ask Galadriel if she can not burn demons should they touch her if we have to defend ourselves.
>>
>>38982062
thats a great idea, we don't want to get found out by something like that
>>
>>38981529
Well, now you'll just have to wait for the others outside to send word back to you. However, there's no telling how long that could take, and even when and if it does, you'll have to have a plan for what you're going to do when the fighting starts. So, you start talking with Galadriel, trying to think of a plan for what you'll do when the crusaders come to liberate the farm, and what to do if they don't.

'The tower has a lot of soldiers, I'm sure they could handle the demons here if fighting broke out. The problem is Alastor, how do we deal with him?'

'There is no way to deal with him. mundane troops mean nothing to him, and you cannot defeat him in battle. Not as you are now, at the very least.'

'So we're just going to have to wait and hope he leaves at some point. Great. Is there any other way to deal with him, something we can distract him with, some sort of weakness?'

'No, if he does have a weakness, then it is one I do not know. The only way I can think to distract him would be to separate the crusader's forces, one on each flank so that when he goes to destroy one, the other can evacuate as many people as they can and retreat. Even then, there is no guarantee he would not catch up.'

'Aureus dammit, is there nothing at all we can do but wait then?'

Galadriel thinks. 'I'm afraid not. He is a very whimsical demon lord though, it is possible he might allow the crusaders and the people here to escape if it amused him to do so.'

'I don't think that's something I want to bet on.'

'Neither do I, but it was a thought.'
>>
>>38982206
I wonder if the crusaders won't consider his presence a good opportunity to strike and remove a powerful demon general. That thing must be hideously powerful if Gallie dismisses the crusaders' chances so easily.

Fug. I wonder whether Alastor leaves before they learn our identity. I hope the guys at the tower had some sense to not let our captivity be common knowledge and most crew just thinks we're meditating in seclusion or something...
>>
>>38982206
You sigh. Well, in any case it seems Alastor is going to make escape very difficult. And if the Crusaders can't send help, that's going to make matters even more difficult. Still, if that happens then you'll have to have a backup plan. You rack your brain, trying to think of ways you could escape if for some reason you can't count on the crusaders to help you.

>Get together with the other prisoners, stage a coup.
>Find out if Alistor lives here. See if there are any times when he leaves the farm then try to sneak out while he's gone.
When he has to make a report to his boss, then's when the coup should happen. Everyone's dead otherwise, especially us.

>>Find out if Alistor lives here. See if there are any times when he leaves the farm then try to sneak out while he's gone.

Only way to handle it is to more or less throw a large sacrifice.

Don't like the chances of all of Sigfriends friends surviving something like that.

I guess if he was better in combat and worthy of more of Galadriel's powers he might be able to fight him off some, but that is it.

>>38982312
>>Find out if Alistor lives here. See if there are any times when he leaves the farm then try to sneak out while he's gone.

Good start.

See if we can also Identify/keep a lot out for prisoners with spirit not broken or corrupted too. Maybe being able to time an attack or coup when he is gone would work too.
>>
>>38982312
>Get to know other prisoners.
Not necessarily tell them you want to organize a revolution yet in case one of them would want to win a favour (or is a disguised demon in first place)
>Familiarize yourself with layout of the town, try to estimate how many demons are there
>>
>>38982350
yeah, if there is a way to get out without causing death of many innocents would probably be if we managed to escape quietly. Starting a new crusade at this time would not be to our advantage.
>>
>>38982312
Well, if anything you should at least try to learn whether Alistor lives here or not. If you can find out when he's here and when he's not, you might be able to try and sneak out. If not, you could always pass that information to the crusaders, or possibly try to stage a coup while he's gone. Sneaking out may be the safest option though.

So, you get to work learning what you can. You speak with some of the locals, trying to indirectly learn more about the Lord of Wrath's schedule. From what little you can gather, Alastor spends much of his time here, observing the fights and bestowing his "blessing" to the Initiated. From the way people talk about it, it seems very few people here actually consider such mutations an actual blessing. However, it seems Alastor tends to leave at the end of every week for the entire day. No one knows where he goes, no one knows how far, but they know he's not here, because that's the only day of the week when there are no arena fights at all.

Speaking of which, it seems everyone gets called to the arena at least once a week, usually more, to fight. Sometimes they fight the Initiated, but more often they find themselves fighting against other Bloodied. It doesn't sound like that's something people enjoy here, as sometimes one could find themselves pitted against a friend or family member if they're unlucky.

It's not much, but it's something to go on at least. Finally, the sun starts to set and you realize you should probably find a place to sleep soon.
>>
>>38982564
----
The northwest part of the farm, the Bloodied quarter, is the home of everyone who's been promoted from Unblooded, but hasn't been chosen as an Initiate. You've heard that those still living in the slums have to huddle for warmth in the ruined shacks there, sometimes housing as many as 20 people in one tiny shack. Even here, the houses seem to be mostly occupied. It takes quite a bit of searching, but you manage to find a house with enough space left in it for you. The dwarf who answers the door only asks you for your token, and lets you inside. No one says anything else, almost as though they were ignoring you.

There is an empty room for you to sleep in. You could go straight to bed, or try and talk to these people, though you're not sure how successfully you'll be.

You set down on the bed, and hold Galadriel onto Galadriel, concentrating.

----
You feel the familiar rush of wind, and sure enough when you open your eyes you see that you are now sitting on top of the clouds in front of Galadriel's mountain peak. The moon shines high in the sky, just as it does outside.

"Come to train?" Galadriel asks you.

You nod. "If ever there were a time to practice fighting demons, it's now."

"That is true. Then what will you practice against this time?"

>>
>>38982971
This makes me wonder though, how do demons (and angels) reproduce? Were they originally in more or less similar numbers? Are the demons now trying to upset the balance with turning people into demons instead of just butchering them?
>>
>>38982789
"How strong would your average farm guard be?" You ask her. "I don't know how strong these new demons are, but I'd imagine they'd be at least on par with that."

Galadriel thinks for a moment. "There are many types of demons who serve as farm guards. They vary depending on which demon lord is in charge of that area. However, for a farm found in Alastor's territory, I believe these would be the most common."

The scene begins to shift. Now, instead of standing above the clouds on a moonlit night, you are standing in a field while it rains. Lightning cracks through the sky, lighting the dark night for just a brief moment. In the distance, you see what may be a walled off town, and flying between them you see a trio of demons flying towards you. As they get closer, you see that the two smaller ones are completely grey and seem feral in a way, while the larger one in the center has grey and red skin. As it gets closer, you realize that the two feral ones have large spikes driven through their backs, which both connect back to the larger one, who has the end of both chains nailed into his arms. If this is painful then they don't show it, and they are swiftly approaching you, hissing and barring their sharp teeth.

The demons fly straight towards you, then swoop in to attack you. The small feral ones attempt to bite you, while the larger one tries to slash you with one of it's claws. You only manage to avoid the three of them by the breadth of a hair, in fact you're almost certain the large one's claws actually grazed your hair and cut it. You manage to land a superficial cut on one of the small feral ones, but it's doesn't do much besides piss all three of them off.

Just as quickly as they swooped in to attack, they're fly off again, circling around for another pass. It seems these demons prefer to attack from the air.

You switch to a bow and shoot as fast as you can, intending to keep the demons at bay with a barrage of arrows. However, it seems they're more maneuverable than they look, as they somehow manage to dodge through the barrage of arrows and swoop down to attack again. This time you're not quite fast enough to avoid the big one's claws, and it rakes your arm while you're avoiding the smaller demons' bites.

Well, it seems the big one doesn't care for the smaller ones' wellbeing at all. That's good to know an all, but you're still stuck in this thing's claws.

Or at least, you were. Swooping low to the ground, the larger demon swings it's clawed arm back, and throws you straight into a tree, almost breaking your back.

I wonder what direction the quest would take if we gained the favour of the demon lord in the games, smuggled Gally into demonic capital and in time assasinated or otherwise deposed the demon king.
It would of course be pretty dark, grim and grey route, but an interesting thought.
And rather unworkable since someone is gonna recognize us sooner or later, unless... unless we pick a mutation that includes disfigurement?
After some time when we meet Erica we would convince her that it's us by telling her of that story when she got us to stick our head into arcane lavatory
>>
>>38983641
I see the quest continuing with the kid picking up a random dagger from our corpse, learning its actually KICK-ASS ANGEL BLADE in secret, and smuggling it out somehow, with vengeance burning in his heart over the death of the temporary champion who saved his life.

You get into a firm stance and ready yourself for the trio of demons' next attack. When they swoop in for another attack, you manage to duck underneath it just in time, stabbing the big one in the gut.

Well, that's not enough to kill it, but it certainly felt that. It quickly flies out of your range again, clutching it's gut where you stabbed it. Already, you can see that the wound is cauterized, burned by Galadriel's touch. Curiously though, you notice that the smaller demons now have a scar on their stomachs very similar to the one you gave the larger one, despite the fact you didn't even hit them.

With the three of them coming for a final attack, you wait for the right timing to take advantage of their momentum. Right as they're about to attack, you actually step in and skewer the big one right where it's heart (or whatever the demon equivalent is) should be.

Finally, the big one dies. Shortly after him, the little ones seem to die on their own. Pulling the spear from it's chest, you feel the scene shift back to normal, standing on top of the clouds in front of Galadriel's mountain. Your wounds are gone and your body stops aching, but you feel very tired.

"For a moment, I wasn't sure you would win that fight. It seems you've grown a lot since we first met."

Maybe I should not be worried about provoking a new crusade (and neither should be knight-marshal and the king) considering the demons already made quite a big move in trying to kidnap Galadriel back at quest start, so it's clear they are up to something soon - otherwise they would not risk humans raising their defcon by such an intrusion.

>>

You shrug. "Practice makes perfect I guess. But man, that one really hurt. At least I'm getting better, I'm sure that one would have mopped the floor with me before."

"In all likelihood it would have, yes." Galadriel responds, brutally honest. "But as you've said, you've grown stronger since then."

"I guess so. Thank Aureus these new demons don't have wings though. I don't know how strong they are, but I'm glad they can't fly at least. Seriously, that's almost cheating."

"Perhaps you would not think so if you were capable of flight." Galadriel muses, flapping her own six wings.

"Maybe. What were those things though? And why did the smaller demons die after I killed the bigger one? Are those common?"

"That was a Warden. And it was not three things, but actually one. They share a single mind with each other, but the large one is it's main body while the small ones by it's side are more like appendages. Killing the small ones will not kill the main body, but killing the main body will killed the two smaller ones. They are thankfully not too common outside of farms located in Alastor's domain, as their main purpose in life is to guard the farms in his land. Why he is switching to these new ones, I do not know."

She's right. If those are what usually guard the farms in Alastor's turf, then why do you not see any of them here, only these new ones?

"What do you think they're trying to accomplish here by mutating demons from people? Are they just trying to bolster their numbers or do you think they're breeding creatures with new skills and capabilities?"

Galadriel ponders the question for a bit. Her response is simple, "I do not know."
>>
>>38984326
Do demons have some sort of natural compulsion to obey their king?
What happens to a person imbued with demonic 'gifts'? Does the change give their masters power over them?
Could the lord of Wrath be breeding a stock of demons that's beholden only to him?
>>
>>38984326
"Not even a guess? You've fought this Alastor guy before, haven't you? Can't you make a rough guess from what you've seen of him?"

"That is precisely why I do not know." She responds. "Of all the surviving demon lords, Alastor is the most unpredictable. Perhaps he is trying to bolster his ranks, or maybe he is planning to invade across the border. Or it is equally possible that he has no reason for it at all, and that this is all some bizarre attempt to amuse himself. I cannot say for sure."

"Alright then, well how are demons usually made then? Is corrupting humans the usual way of doing it?"

Galadriel shakes her head. "No. The oldest and most powerful of them rose from the spilled blood of their progenitor, Malal, just as the oldest and wisest of we angels were born from the spilled blood of Aureus. However, new demons are still born to this world just as new angels are born. They spawn sporadically into the world, simple phasing into existence when the whims of the Void will it, though they tend to spawn more frequently near concentrated areas of strong negative emotion, which is another reason why they maintain their farms. The rate at which they are born though is unpredictable, and uncontrollable."

"So...they just suddenly pop into existence? Is it the same way with angels?"

She nods. "Correct, though as the children of Aureus, who died with love in his heart for his creations, we are attuned to the positive emotions of others, and often spawn into existence close to concentrated areas of positive emotion."

"How is any of that even possible?"

"No one knows, it is just how the world works. But considering our progenitors, the twin brothers born of the chaotic whims of the Void, it makes sense that our existences are also sporadic and inexplicable."

You sigh in frustration. You're just going to put all that down as "It's magic", because that makes just about as much sense to you.

Connection's being a shit again, sorry.
>>
>>38984353
"In any case," you move on "How often is it that demons make humans into demons? I know Andras used to be human, and I know the new demons here were once human, but how common is it for demons to do that? Can any demon corrupt humans?"

"No. To change a mortal into a demon requires completely altering their aetheric structure, essentially changing them into a completely different being. Only the most powerful of demons is capable of that. In Andras's case, it was Malaphas who turned him, and for these new demons it was Alastor who did it. Even then, those demons powerful enough to actually do so would normally think most mortals beneath their attention, and not worth the effort required to do so. That Alastor would not only do so, but do so for multiple people, is surprising. Though if any of the demon lords were most likely to pull such a stunt, it would be him."

>"Just what is this Alastor guy like anyways? All I can gather from what I've seen is that he enjoys fighting."

"Hold on." You say, a question popping into your head. "If demons are able to change mortals into demons, shouldn't angels be capable of the same thing?"

"We are." She replies. "But we choose not to do so, because we respect the creations of Aureus, and do not like to tamper with them. While my kind may be stronger and more attuned to the aether than most mortals, we believe mortals have their own strengths above even us, and so we choose not to besmirch them. Besides, the only ones I know of that are old and powerful enough to do so are Rathaniel and his council."

Alright, so they actually are capable of doing the same thing. You were going to ask her why she hasn't just done that for her old champions, but from the sound of it she's not strong enough to do so even if she wanted to, which it sounds like she wouldn't anyways.

"Okay then. And what about this Alastor guy? You keep saying he's unpredictable and such, but the only thing I've gathered from what I see is that he enjoys fighting. Just what is he like?"

"You just managed to describe him in three words."

"Huh?"

"He enjoys fighting. That is the core of who he is. Fighting and wrath often go hand in hand, and as the Lord of Wrath, that means he takes particular joy in battle. Even when Malaphas was still uniting his kind under his rule in the Void, his bloodthirst knew no bounds. He fought Malaphas for rulership over demonkind, and very nearly defeated him. But rather than slaying Alastor, Malaphas chose to keep him around, as one of his demon lords. Since then, Alastor has been a menace on the battlefield, taking whatever opportunity he could find to charge into the thick of battle, slaying countless numbers of your kind as well as mine. He is a man who needs no reason to fight, just the fight itself, and will happily accept whatever excuse is given for him to do so. To him, the battle comes first, even before his own self preservation, and so he is almost impossible to predict."
>>
>>38984609
"More than his own self preservation? Just how reckless doe she get, exactly?"

“Even if it places his life in danger, or would permanently damage him, he will do all he can to win a battle. For example, during the battle between him and Asher, Asher managed to plunge his blade into Alastor's left eye. The way Alastor was able to kill him was by grabbing my blade, still buried within his left eye, and plunged it deeper into his own eye to bring Asher closer so that he could grab him. He then held Asher high in the sky and crushed him to death while I could do nothing."

From her sad tone, you can understand why you felt a pang of anger from her when you first saw Alastor. Now that she mentions it though, you think he did have a thin white scar across his left eye. Could he still be blind in it?

"He crushed him to death? How did he manage that when he's only a foot or two taller than me? For that matter, how did he not die when he plunged a sword deeper into his eye, shouldn't it have hit his brain?"

"What you saw at the arena today was not his true form, Siegfried. The more powerful demons are capable of assuming a different shape for the sake of battle, much like we angels. In his true form, Alastor is a horrible three-eyed monster who stands taller than a castle. That was the form he was in when he battled Asher long ago."

Taller than a castle? Well, if for whatever reason you needed more convincing not to fight him, now you have all the reason you need and more.

You're almost ready to head to sleep, but you still have a few things to discuss with Galadriel before you do.

"Do you think your sword could burn those half-turned mutants, like the one I fought in the arena?"

She nods. "Yes. Even if the transformation is only partially complete, my blade will still burn anything that is directly demonic in nature."

"What about not burning them? Can you turn that on or off at all? I don't want to be found out because of an accident."

"I'm afraid that is out of my control. My blade will burn the demonic without exception, and I fear I am unable to turn it off even if I want to. So long as you keep it in it's sheath though, it is unlikely you will burn one on accident, as it must make direct contact with them to burn."

Shit. Well, you suppose that just means you'll have to keep Galadriel in her sheath unless you need to use her. However, there is one other thing you've been wondering since she flew all the way from the tower to you when the doppelganger tried to kidnap you.

"Here's something I've been wondering. You're fully capable of flight, right?"

She nods, not sure where you're going with this.

"Then would it be possible for you to carry me if you so desired? Then we could just fly right out of here and back to the tower."

"I'm sorry, but that is impossible."

"Why?" You ask, disappointed.

"You are too heavy for my blade to carry and still fly."
>>
>>38984889
Huh. Well, that's one escape plan out the window. With that, you're out of questions and ready to leave and go back to sleep, but before you can Galadriel grabs your attention.

"Siegfried, before you leave, there is something I'd like to say."

You reopen your eyes and raise an eyebrow.

"As I said before, you've grown a lot since we first met. That, combined with how long yo have carried my blade, I believe you may be ready for another one of my powers."

Now that catches your attention. To be honest, you were starting to wonder if you would ever be given access to her other powers.

"Use it well, Siegfried. It is all I can give you for now, but I believe it will be of use to you."

Galadriel flaps her six golden wings, and hovers down in front of you. She holds out her hands, and a golden orb forms in her cupped hands. The orb floats down to you, and when you try to catch it, it disappears, and you find you suddenly know how to use another one of Galadriel's powers.

>New power unlocked!
>Righteous Strength - You are now capable of wielding amazing strength. For ten minutes after activating this power, your strength increases significantly, allowing you to do increased damage in combat, and accomplish feats of strength until the power wears off. You must wait 1 hour after this power wears off before you may use it again
>As your bond with Galadriel grows stronger, you will be able to use this power for longer periods of time.

Well, it's not flight, but it's still something you can use. You thank Galadriel, and end the trance.

-----
You find yourself back in the real world, in your new room. Remembering that Galadriel will change back into it's default sword form overnight, you hide Galadriel underneath the bed and climb in. You don't know what awaits you tomorrow, but you'll need to be rested so you can face whatever happens tomorrow.

-----
The next morning, the dwarf who opened the door for you wakes you up.

"You need to wake up." He tells you. "They're calling for you."

Calling for you? Who's calling for you? You tell him you'll be out in a second, and after he leaves you get dressed and grab Galadriel from under the bed, changing her into an unassuming dagger once again. You check inside your show to make sure your token is still there, and head out into the common room to see whoever it is that's calling for you.

Outside the front door, you see two of those four-armed demons waiting for you. You guess that they're the ones who were calling for you.

"Come with us, Bloodied. Lord Alastor demands your presence in the arena again today."

------
Well, here you are again, standing in the center of the blood stained arena. Alastor sits on his stone throne, looking down upon you. In the stands, you see other mortals who are going to be fighting today, as well as demons who are just here to watch the bloodshed.

"Bloodied, you stand here today because you have already proven your strength. But proving your strength is not enough. You must hone it, and grow even stronger by combating with your peers, until you stand head and shoulders above the rest." Alastor says, projecting his voice across the whole arena. "And so today, you will not be fighting the Initiated, but your fellow Bloodied."

You hear the other Bloodied in the stands start to murmur. It looks like now you're all going to have to fight with each other, but if that's the case then why were you told to stand in the center of the arena, while the others are sitting in the stands.

Alastor looks down at you and you see that same cruel smile as before stretch across his face. "For you, however I have something different in mind. Rather than fighting your peers, you shall fight someone above you today, someone who is well on her way to become an Initiate."

On their way to becoming an Initiate? So you're going to fight someone who's almost ready to advance in rank then? That means you're probably in for a hard fight.

One of the demons starts turning the wench to open the gate. You see the silhouette of a person start to come out from inside, dragging a large sword behind them. When your opponent steps out, you feel yourself freeze up.

Black hair, blue eyes, wearing brown clothes and boots, as well as brown gloves meant to protect her hands from thorns. The sort of gloves one would wear when they're going out to pick berries. You're sure of it, that's the missing girl from Llynn.

"Be grateful, mortal, I handpicked this match just for you, because you intervened in the young Unblooded's battle. That pity for the young is a weakness. Now, you'll either overcome it, or you'll die."
>>

Alright, finally calling it a night here folks. Will stick around for a couple minutes to answer questions. Will probably run later on Saturday (So today) depending on how much sleep I can get. Keep an eye on the twitter, as usual.

Hope you guys had fun, I tried to put more effort into this and the next thread to make up for the last one. Thanks for playing.
>>
>>38985222
thanks for the thread, though I can't say I'm looking forward to being forced to fight the missing girl like this, though it kind of matches that whole 'gladiatoral arena must fight the person you came here to save to the death' cliche, I've never been a fan of that one
>>
>>38985222
We need to assassinate Alastor.
>>
>>38985222
Sleep well man, and cheers for the thread.

I wonder if incapacitating the other combatant is against the rules? Surely killing perfectly good candidates is a waste and this way he can get more fun out of each?
>>
>>38985242
yeah right, like we'd get close let alone do some damage

thats pretty much suicide via stupidity

>>38985243
pretty much what my argument will be when we spare her, she's well on her way to becoming an initiate, if she learns from this and continues on her way, wouldn't that make her more valuable and a better fighter?

outside of that I've no idea what we're going to do other than just resign in protest because seriously what the fuck can we do? literally fucking nothing

>>38985222
>I tried to put more effort into this and the next thread to make up for the last one
this one has a mighty strong whiff of the choo choo with that last update...
>>
>>38985243
alternate strategy: we could ask if we can keep the girl for our pleasure if we can disarm her.
>>
>>38985242
We need to not kill the missing girl, somehow stage a breakout, and hope to whatever the fuck gods will listen that our rescue party turns up in time.

Other then that, we're dead and the quest is over.
>>
>>38985265
>this one has a mighty strong whiff of the choo choo with that last update...
Naaaah... Just because most of our choices and option are shit (as expected for a pit slave) doesn't mean we don't have any. And the wrathlord said it himself: we kinda ran into this one.
>>
>>38985222
Will we be able to save everyone here? Are you planing for us to be able to fight Alastor or at least turn him on his lord or that guy Whatshisface (the one whose arm got chopped of)?
>>
>>38985222
Thanks for running Sparks, I shall await your next thread on the morrow.
>>
>>38985202
We have to win in a way that lets us spare her.
As for an excuse we can say something believable like making her ours.
>>
>>38985278
No we didn't, how did all our choices culminate in being forced into a fight to the death with THE VERY PERSON WE WERE LOOKING TO RESCUE FROM THIS PLACE?!

I'm sorry but I can only suspend my disbelief so much and after the last thread, this one just has a sour aftertaste in my mouth with that cliffhanger. You don't make up for railroading and mistakes with more railroading.
>>
>>38985242
You know what, we're the best disposed person in history to actually pull that off.

If we get the chance, we totally need to get behind him and drive Galadriel through the back of his head.
>>
>>38985298
that wouldn't do jack fucking shit

like the goddamned angel in our head has said MANY TIMES ALREADY

WE ARE NO WHERE NEAR BEING ABLE TO HURT HIM, WE JUST ARE NOT STRONG ENOUGH SO STOP TRYING TO GET US KILLED WITH RETARDED IDEAS
>>
>>38985292
Remember how we voted when Alastor asked us why we intervened?

>"For Aureus sake, he's a kid! What was I supposed to do?"

The demon lord singled out this candidate specifically because of the way we voted, and I for one am not sorry for that. I know you're still burned over the last thread but Sparks really isnt trying to railroad us here.
>>
>>38984964
I'd say probably they probably don't.
>>38985027
She can fight things that aren't demons, yes. Though just because she can doesn't mean she can do so effectively. Her physical embodiment is just a flying sword, after all.
As for siege engines, I'm going to go ahead and say no, since she's intended for a single person to use as a personal weapon.
>>38985238
>>38985243
There's nothing saying you -have- to kill her. Like I said when you guys were choosing between helping the kid or doing nothing, you have options, each with their own pros and cons.

And besides, you guys still have that Hero Point from last thread to spend.
>>38985271
>Other then that, we're dead and the quest is over.
Not really. I'm not an asshole QM who's trying to get you killed. Putting players in difficult positions is my job, but I won't throw an unwinnable situation at you guys.
>>38985280
>Will we be able to save everyone here?
Absolutely. It won't be easy, but it's very much doable.
>>38985292
I'm very sorry you feel that way. But I'm going to plant my feet and say I'm not railroading here. You guys weren't forced into this scenario, and you're not being forced to kill her. If that still sounds like railroading to you and you decide to leave, then I'm very sad to hear that, but I'm going to stand by what I say here.
>>
>>38985314
Nowhere near strong enough to take him in an actual fight you mean. Assassinations are not straight up fights.
>>
>>38985324
Oh really? So his solution to shoving PLOT down our throats really poorly is to shove more PLOT down our throats not even 1 thread after it? That just does not work.
>>
>>38985292
Would you feel better about it if it was the kid we saved earlier? Or some random (other) nameless captured villager?
I don't consider it railroading when we're put into a tight spot with justification. And the spot would be just as tight if it were any other slave fighter.
>>
>>38985343
Are you forgetting how his human form isn't actually his real body and he only just looks like this? Are you forgetting how he is taller than a fucking castle?

We ain't going to be able to assassinate shit like the goddamned Angel said already, our only hope of getting out of here alive is to NOT engage him.
>>
>>38985350
>And the spot would be just as tight if it were any other slave fighter.
No it wouldn't, not even close to being as narratively loaded as fighting the chick we came out here to fucking rescue.
>>
>>38985343
Assassination against Alastor is also a fucking stupid idea like has been pointed out many many times over these last two threads...

>>38985340
>And besides, you guys still have that Hero Point from last thread to spend.
How many do we have total?
>>
>>38985345
Yes, yes it does work when done with sufficient tact, which in my opinion the GM has achieved.

Anyways I'ma go to bed now as I see that as a more productive use of my time than debating with an anonymous poster on the internet. Stay salty anon.
>>
>>38985374
One of two. Directly intervening in the kid's fight earlier would have netted you another one, but it would have also brought it's own problems with it.
>>
>>38985369
I'm beginning to get the feeling you're just mad we are about to fight a waifu candidate.
Demon pits are not a happy place and having to deal with this sort of issues is to be expected. Calm down and try to come up with a way to get out of this situation - even a stupid or bullshit one. Maybe we'll be able to make it work.

1 of 2.
We need to use that hero point to get everyone out. Persuade Alaster to fight Andras and make a promise to him that we will fight him in the future when we get stronger (he's whimsical so he'll probably let us go if we do that).

>>38985405
We need to use our new stenght to beat her while keeping her alive. After wining when Alaster asks why we are sparing her we just say that we like strong chicks and want her as a prize or something.
>>
>>38985430
It has nothing at all to do with waifus or waifu candidates or any of that faggotry. Your argument is not even worth considering if your going to be that much of a faggot so no, you couldn't have been further away from the mark.
>>
>>38985441
>like strong chicks and want her as a prize or something.
Yeah. I think that will impress the demon lord more than appeal to efficiency, if we can come across 'berserky' enough with that request.
>>
>>38985441
>Persuade Alaster to fight Andras and make a promise to him that we will fight him in the future when we get stronger (he's whimsical so he'll probably let us go if we do that).
That is the stupidest plan I've ever heard.

1. How the fuck will we get such an audience to make such a deal?

2. What reason does he have to even consider it when we're just a lowly weakling bloodied? None, he has no reason at all, the only thing keeping us alive currently is the token we earned yesterday, which means jack fucking shit.

3. What is he doesn't want to fight Andras and they are best bros? What is he just doesn't want to agree because we're being presumptuous? What if he decides we're annoying half way through our impassioned speech and kills us?

No anon, We're not going to do that because we actually like living.
>>
>>38985484
That's what the hero point is for.
It means we succeed at a thing that is very hard to achieve.
As for the audience we just beat every demon he throws at us.
>>
>>38985510
That is the worst possible use of a HP you could have conceived of. Getting a blowjob from that dwarf that woke us up would be a better use of it.

>As for the audience we just beat every demon he throws at us.
Okay now I'm certain you are deliberately trying to get us killed, because you can't be this moronic if you actually read the thread and saw how we fared against that Warden in meditation, which is kind of a very average mid tier demon around here...

No anon, you won't be spending that precious HP on anything anywhere near that retarded idea of yours if I or the other anons have anything to say about it.
>>
>>38985426
Like I said, there aren't any no-win scenarios here. Sparring the girl doesn't mean you're going to get killed on the spot. Some of the decisions you guys make will have consequences, but that doesn't mean one option will lead to an immediate "game over".
>>
>>38985510
I'm with the waifufag on this one. That's way too farfetched - the single simulated demon took over half our life and now we'd fight multiple ones? With hero point spent on something else?
Let's not get ahead of ourselves, if we want to sow dissent among the ranks, we should try something subtler, and the hero point will come in handy in escaping,

On that note, are demons able to detect angelic magic when we use Galadriel's strength buff? Because that might make things complicated...

If Erika or any of the girls hear this Sieg is going to be in trouble. Glad that Sparks will allow waifu-faggotry even if it's cance it's still fun.
>>
>>38985554
No, they can't detect angelic magic. In truth, there's no difference between angelic, mortal, or demon magic really. A spell that a mortal casts is the same as the same spell cast by a demon or angel. Of course, spells cast by demons or angels tend to be stronger than ones cast by mortals simpler because both are more attuned to the aether than mortals. That said, it is possible for a mortal mage to become just as powerful, or even more so, than an angelic or demonic spellcaster with a lot of practice and probably a few singed eyebrows.
>>
Imo rather than flailing about complaining about the situation I'd rather consider what Siegfried would actually do about it.

For me, there's justification for both killing the girl to avoid suspicion or beating her in the duel and trying to bullshit some reason not to finish her.

I can't see Sieg flat out refusing to fight, he's not at the stage of being the big damn hero who gives no fucks about demon lords.

We might well find out that the girl is too far gone to save during the fight as well which would definitely push towards killing her. After all, what makes her life more valuable than the rest of the people on this farm other than we heard about her abduction?
>>
>>38985609
So you honestly think all our friends are going to be petty enough to take issue with us telling a lie to save a girls life?

Man you anti-waifu anons are dumber than what you fight against.
>>
>>38985627
>there's justification for both killing the girl to avoid suspicion
she's the entire reason why we're here, we're not going to kill her
>>
>>38985627
>After all, what makes her life more valuable than the rest of the people on this farm other than we heard about her abduction?
A fair amount actually, things like her family and how she's only been gone just over a month and has a life to return to, many here can't say the same.

And please, don't go all retarded moral fork thought exercise on the thread, that bullshit can piss right off.
>>
>>38985642
No actually i want to see Sieg getting into sweet sweet trouble with the girls misunderstanding his statement.

>Joan becomes overly concious that she lost to Sieg
>So does Erika
>Joan suddentley starts beating him whenever she can
>>
>>38985654
She's just one woman, if killing her helps us save other people, she can just die. It's not like she's important beyond 'random villager we heard about'.
>>
>>38985676
So what, thinking about what the character would actually do in such a situation can fuck off? Sounds like a pretty depressing way to play a quest to me.

The fact she's only been gone a month is a fair point in her favour but we don't know anything about the rest of the people in this camp and there's a whole load of fellow unbloodied who presumably haven't been here long whereas she's killed enough people to be on her way to demon-hood.
>>
>>38985680
Good fucking like trying to make that argument float in character instead out of character, we're playing Siegfried anon, not you the robot.

>It's not like she's important beyond 'random villager we heard about'.
At this point she's a fair bit more then that.

You seriously have no grasp on Siegfried's character and are more trying to play a Khornate berserker.

He's also a goodnatured city guard. And we're not gonna refuse to fight, we'll just attempt a non-lethal takedown.
I could kinda imagine having to roll against willpower if we had to finish her off for whatever reason (like a massive demon lord yelling "do eeeet faggot!")

So no grandstanding "I shall not harm this ere maiden pure", but not cold-blooded murder either.
I guess an accident might happen during the battle though, perhaps in case of critfail.

>>

nah, if need be then we do a nonlethal takedown and claim her as our bedwarmer

I'd say they will take it in stride as a neat trick (if it works).
But I guess it might be fun if some doubt remained in them, thinking to themselves... "was he really lying?"
>>
>>38985706
Please don't give Sparks ideas, we'll have more than enough trouble already next thread.
>>
>>38985702
The life of one woman versus the possibility of saving hundreds of people (plus ourself, plus maybe finding a way to kill a Lord). I think Siegfried can weigh those up practically.
>>
>>38985737
I doubt he can be anywhere approaching purely objective logical thought in his current situation and its absurd to consider he would.
>>
>>38985737
>I think Siegfried can weigh those up practically.
You really need to go back and reread this quest then because you seem to think the MC is some unfeeling robot when he's very much the opposite of that.
>>
>>38985706
>I guess an accident might happen during the battle though, perhaps in case of critfail.
Nah, that would be a really shitty thing to do. That's like when you try to do nonlethal damage to someone, roll a crit, and then the GM just says you crushed his skull in and now he's dead. That sort of thing always rubbed me the wrong way.
>>
>>38985763
I think he'd feel shit about it for a long time, but he isn't a moron. Unless we come up with a damn good plan, I can't see him risking everyone else for one person, especially when his death would leave Galadriel in enemy hands.
>>
>>38985784
how is not killing this girl and claiming her as a slave or something equate to killing everyone else here? that thought train jump is so massive you could fit a plot arc between not killing the girl and that causing everyone else to be at risk for god knows why when we're just one bloodied who wants a bedwarmer

that just doesn't make any sense at all anon
>>
>>38985812
When did I even mention that bedwarmer plan? Personally I doubt it would work (he's into Wrath, not Lust) but if it did, great.

If it didn't and we have no other plan, we're fucked.
>>
>>38985839
well he's unpredictable and whimsy, we could sell it as she deserved it for not beating us, but we want a rematch or something later on or bullshit something, it would be pretty plausible considering we don't have to kill her, hell we wouldn't even need to use a HP on it, though we'll need that for the escape
>>
>>38984888
Someone must carry this mantle, in order to see how far Sparks will go. Personally, I don't care if anything comes of it.
Besides, your trips have proclaimed your statement as truth, therefore i must continue.
>>
I don't see a problem with a nobody like her dead. Sure if we can save her it's better, but I'd rather not draw even more attention.
