>Also a short recap.

>Your name is Peter Parker. One day you were bit by a genetically engineered Spider and became the Amazing Spider-man. A lot of things have happened since then, but the current news to note is that you are an employee of Stark Industries and helped out Tony Stark, who seems to be cracking down on other superheroes.

Oh, and there's this guy in a mask, you call him the Green Goblin. He's got a sample of your blood and seems to have gone into hiding. If that wasn't bad enough, you've found more info on the people who killed your parents. The organization called HYDRA, acting through their agent known as the Winter Soldier. If that wasn't bad enough Harry Osborn's been acting like a real jerk and has suspicious things going on around him. Not to mention the tension between Spider-man and Venom.

On the upside, your Uncle Ben and Aunt May are doing well and your uncle will be retiring soon.

Okay guys remember that we have a lot of shit on our plate, what with the upcoming Stark expo, HYDRA, Green Goblin, our own clone, Gwen Stacy and Uncle Ben in a race to see who can collect the most death flags, Flash doing weird stuff, Kingpin, and more.

Last thread I don't think we really picked a good direction to focus on.

SPECTACULAR SPECTACULAR SPIDER-THREAD

Nice to have you back Cosgrove.

Speaking of Spider-man though, artist I like did a Spider-Gwen recently.
>>
Where is everyone?
>>
>>38962227
Let's see here if I can remember what's going on with everyone.

GWEN STACY: Really hung up on us, still doesn't like Felicia, I'm pretty sure we finally decided to tell her mostly everything, but we still don't really know what's going on in her life that doesn't revolve around us, like what's going on with her dad or whatever. Currently also working on something for Stark's expo.

FELICIA HARDY: Back to stay, for now at least. While it's nice to have her around, I'm not sure it's really sunk in for her that HYDRA has been keeping tabs on her since before she was born, and unlike with us, they probably know all about her extra curriculur activities. We recently realized last thread that, even though we do have some talent in the area, Felicia is much better at us when it comes to investigation and infiltration, and she helped us juggle a lot of plates. Currently investigating Eddie Brock, due to a combination of bad priorities and it being the least likely to endanger her. Time will tell if the outsourcing will continue.

MARY JANE WATSON: Still weird, but possibly a different kind of crazy. Probably knows we're Spider-Man.

FLASH THOMPSON: Still mad at us for not helping him stand up to Iron Man, and still doesn't really have a future thanks to Harry Osborn being a dick. Is currently avoiding us and knows out secret identity, while we still lack in-character knowledge of what exactly he's wearing, though I hope we suspect it to be the same thing we found in the future. Currently associating with a faux-Stella figure and approached our clone, but he managed to be so threatening that our clone decided not to associate with him.
>>
Groaning, you open the phone and answer it. “Peter Parker, who is it and why are you calling me at four in the morning?”

There a series of music-filled coughs from the other side of the phone line before you hear someone clear their throat enough to speak. The voice that comes out is rough and tired and rather desperate. “Sorry, Peter but this is important. I can't talk for long and I, really, really need you awake and your science-mind working-”

The voice pauses with a series of another coughs before continuing with a groan. “And this is Eddie. And I need you to do me a favor right now. If someone was to say have stolen a lot of tech, what could they make if say... that tech was...”

There's a pause as you hear paper rustle as Eddie lists out a series of tech or parts in between coughing fits and one time you swear was him vomiting. The stuff he's listing would be pretty serious stuff to have stolen, such as a Ganali device along with other similar machines, along with other odd machines like those used in treatment for cancer. There's a series of other odd devices listed too, quite a few of them.

HARRY OSBORN: Becoming increasingly an asshole since Thanksgiving, which would make one suspect that his mom either didn't survive being removed from the Suit, or is still in a coma and Norman is keeping it to himself. Recently we caught a punch he through and we were as surprised it actually hurt a little as he was that we were able to catch his fist.

GHOST RIDER: We currently remember encountering her in an out of body experience after the Winter Soldier mortally wounded us and caused us to lose our leg. She looked mildly demonic to start with, but it's unclear if that's just the "Be Not Afraid" principle at work. Still unknown why she saved us, as we haven't confronted/thanked her yet.

THE FANTASTIC FOUR: It seems like our involvement with them have kind of stopped them from becoming science adventurers, as we currently use them as a place to stash our messes. Sue had an idea of what the Green Goblin could want with our blood, but hasn't told us what it was yet. We still haven't even seen Grimm yet.

SILVER SABLE: Miraculously hasn't escaped the Baxter Building yet, and neither us nor Felicia really know what to do with her. Presumably she doesn't know about HYDRA yet.

SPIDER-CARNAGE: We're still avoiding him because issues and not being able to grasp that the reason the Bad Future Carnage was DIO was due to it absorbing the mental patterns of the insane spree killer who went by the name of Carnage, while this current incarnation is instead based on us. Though that's just as well, since it seems like before SC developed consciousness, he ate at least one person. At this time, we have no leads on who created him, or why, or when, as well as his lifespan/ability to survive without draining people. Currently in Baxter Building as well, after getting all judgy at us, even though the reason he surrendered was due to the same tendency to just take the path of least resistance that we possess.

EDDIE BROCK: Currently has terminal cancer probably. The Suit was originally desinged to cure cancer before being used as a Bio-Weapon. We currently have one sample of the Suit in a vial, another insance of it is being used to make Ghost Rider's body, Spider-Carnage was likely made from our blood sample we gave Tony Stark which had traces of the Suit still within it, and there may be remnants of the original Suit that was worn by us and Norman's wife in the sewers somewhere.

AGENT FRANK CASTLE: Is currently living in our neighborhood, and helped save us in our Round 2 fight against Silver Sable. He does not know we're Spider-Man though his job is presumably to keep an eye on Peter Parker. Unknown who he works for, and what he knows, but it might be a good idea to check that out. Currently partered with WADE WILSON though I don't know if we know that yet.

DOKTOR SPYRAL: Currently our partner at our work with Stark, has been pretty helpful and aside from some dubious behavior in the future, appears to be a decent person. Still unsure if it's worth risking telling her about HYDRA, even if it seems unlikely that she's working for them. Unsure if Spider-Sense would be useful in this instance?
>>
>27.

Wow, there's quite a lot of possibilities that you can think of. The main trend, if you ignore the random outliers or random junk and look for patterns would be something relating to gene therapy?

That or irradiation or mass spreading of something designed to affect people if a few of them such as the Ganali device aren't there to just throw people off. Or it could be several different things.

If someone was as smart or you or Stark or Reed Richards, they could probably make some really nasty things without even trying with half of that stuff.

But, there's also things you need to ask Eddie too, like why he'd be interested in this knowledge and why he'd ask you such a hypothetical question.

Peter's got one phone he uses for Peter Parkering and one he uses that goes to Spider-man'ing. Both are special models because Pete's smart enough to figure it out.
>>
>>38962945
Can we quickly send a text or whatever to Felicia on our Spider-Phone to let her know that just spoke with Eddie?
>>
You pause before you answer. “Hey, mind if I ask why you're asking me. As far as I know there's been no thefts because most of that stuff is pretty big deal stuff and I'm pretty sure it'd be all over the news if even if one of those things was found to be stolen.”

There silence on Eddie's end for a while. “Look, you can't tell anyone. Especially not your friend Gwen or her dad because things would naturally come back to fuck me over. But those things wouldn't be reported BECAUSE of that reason. No company wants to state that they were robbed or high-tech or dangerous things because it'd affect their stocks. So the few that have been stolen from have kept it quiet. There's a guy going around stealing all this stuff.”

Your brow furrows. “A guy? Like one?”

There's a wet cough followed by an ill-sounding grunt. “Yeah. One guy.”

There's wheezing and more violent coughing coming from the other end of the line. Eddie really doesn't sound well and he's been sounding worse as the conversation continued. “Look, could you tell me what exactly they could be doing with this stuff or not?”

Okay it's just sad to see the threads having died down to this. What are people thinking is going on? Since the recap mentioned Green Goblin, I assume that he's the one behind this, but what is his goal? And how does Eddie know about this? Should we keep our word and not tell anyone about this, either just trusting him to handle it or taking matters into our spider-hands?
>>
Eddie, honestly, sound awful. Listing off several ideas, you inform him of what you could come up with for those things as you hear the sound of paper rustling in the background. There's a grunt as you finish up.

“Hey, Eddie. You alright man? You sound really bad.”

There's a wry note to his voice when he finally responds. “As well as someone can be in late stages of Cancer, I suppose. I'm putting my affairs in order because I probably don't have more than a month left. And before you say anything- ANYTHING- don't tell anyone you heard from me. I'm falling apart at the seams and I want them to remember me as I was. Please.”

As he talks, Eddie grows more and more miserable and desperate before he falls into another fit of coughs. When he recovers, its a few minutes later. “Look, I might need to call you a few more times to ask your opinion on things, if that's alright. I didn't want to have to bother you, but I have literally no one else to turn to. I... I've got to go.”

The phone cuts off as you hear Eddie go into another coughing fit. Its first thing in the morning and no you don't even feel like sleeping. Worry for Eddie and what he's looking into bothering you immensely.

You also have a suspicion as to who did those crimes, too.

Let's see how this works out before we start skipping school. If we find it out in the next couple days (unlikely) then we might not need to skip anything.
>>
>>38963431
Wouldn't he be missing school as well, due to his evil plans?

I'm not sure, should we focus on trying to fix the Suit to at least cure Eddie specifically instead? Or is even thinking we could do that when ours and Eddie's dad couldn't just hubis, especially since we havn't even graduated high school, much less gotten a doctorate.
>>
Well, seems like you're skipping school today. Yawning slightly, you head down to your basement and start working on ideas for what the Green Goblin might be up to. You also remember to send a text to Felicia that you've contacted Eddie. You also send a text to Sue Storm to ask about what she thought your blood might be used for and how long she thought it might take someone to do.

When it's almost time for school, you text Gwen to text you as to if Harry is at school or not today, before telling your Aunt that you aren't feeling great and need to work on something for Mister Stark, so you'll have to miss school. Aunt May shakes her head with fondness and lets you off the hook... this time.

As you wait for a reply from anyone you know, you consider the what the Green Goblin might be up to. So far he's used a mutagen that required an injection using something likely based on Doctor Connor's works on reptile gene-therapy. He's also got your blood. So far, the Goblin has only used individual doses of these serums that were one use and required injection.

But he's devices, if it is him, that could spread something large scale air-based or have much more serious effects... if those aren't ploys to distract.

Let's see what we can find out first.
>>
>>38963715
>[X]Look into rumors or odd sightings that might lead to places the Goblin has been recently.
The tricky part is that we have no idea what he wants. When we encountered him in person, it didn't seem like he was a psychopath like Carnage, out to cause as much pain and chaos as possible with no real goal. Like even if we can pinpoint the areas where he could cause the most damage, that would only matter if his goal was to hit as many people as possible.

Also I figured as much with the Suit. Kind of makes me want to just give our date to Doctor Storm, since that's more her field, but on the other hand, would that be giving up on our father's legacy? But on the other OTHER hand, would our dad even WANT us to obsess over the same thing that ruined and ultimately took his life, or was his telling us about it more a cautionary tale?

I feel like that's the difficult part, trying to shoulder everything on our own and be some kind of martyr is bad. We know that, and our friends keep telling us that. Technically don't we have several? Like I think we own one with Spyral, and we have access to another at Stark Industries?

It isn't easy going, but you see a few odd instances here and there as you weed through the many Ghost Rider and 'Black Spider-man' (which slowly started being called as Venom instead of that Terrible moniker) sighting. There is a lot, and you mean a LOT of Venom sightings you wade through. On occasion you see some Iron Man sightings. One time you see a posting of a tiny man the size of an ant, but that's quickly dismissed.

Finally you find some sightings that might be the Goblin. Those are mainly by some of the larger technological or medical companies as well as him by a water treatment plant and blurry images of him around what might be the tops of large buildings, but often no specific details as to where he was spotted.

So far, there might be something with a water treatment facility and there might be something with building tops.

>>38964011
>[X]Do more research into areas with tall building that would have more people effected if it was spread by air
See this is what I don't like about the interludes. We don't in character have reason to think Goblin wants to target a specific group of people or an occasion, but we also don't have reason to think he's going to be completely indiscriminate, but we do suspect out of character through interludes that he's going to be targetting the Stark Expo which is in New York for some reason as opposed to the West Coast like in the movie I thought.
>>
>>38964061
Expo's in NYC even in the movie
>>
>>38964081
My bad, so it is. So first an attack by evil robots, then green monsters have a slug fight in Harlem, and THEN an invasion of zombie aliens? All within like... a year? God fucking damn, that's almost as bad as New York in the comics.
>>
>>38964011
>[ ]Do more research about water treatment facilities
Regrettably, I feel like it's in character to take his bait at this instance at least, since standing on tall buildings is where you're likelly to find pictures of any costumed hero or villain.
>>
>>38964158
I mean, it's really the main draw to putting on a weird outfit and fighting for good/evil, posing on the edge of roofs, overlooking the city.
>>
It'd probably be best to look into water treatment, or more importantly, water transmission. Through water towers, more than likely. You spend your time researching things and find that there's several and many varied ways the Goblin could be doing things. There's three distinct aqueduct systems that bring water from upstate, not to mention three tunnel systems- well two with a third currently being worked on- but there's also the many water towers in New York and a water treatment facility as well.

The problem comes in two where you have to wonder how the Goblin plans to make him move and you wish you knew more about how he thinks. So far he pretends to be conservative but goes for really flashy spectacles, like when he turned that one person into a giant chameleon or baited you to the kingpin's corpse to steal your blood.

It'd be easy to take up looking into the wrong thing here.

Pausing, you check your phone to find a text from Gwen. 'Harry called in sick and Flash is also absent.'

Flash not showing up is odd, but so is Harry's disappearance. With all the strange actions Harry's undertaken, and that punch of his that managed to hurt you...

Again, I worry about this being a bad idea, but I guess if we do make Harry catch on to us, the sooner we can have some kind of dramatic showdown in the rain and he can either join Reed Richard's illegal detainment wonderland (just realized we're giving him the inspiration to create 42), or get impaled by his own glider.

or get beaten down by daddy and mommy goblin.

The Goblin family.
>>
>>38964509
But yeah, I'm worried that we're doing something foolish just for the sake of having things happen faster.

I'll admit that I did not anticipate that as a possibility.

Pulling out your phone, you call the number that connects to Norman Osborn's personal phone that you've had with him being a family friend. There's a few rings before the phone's answers in a no-nonsense tone. “Osborn, what is it?”

Clearing you throat you steady your nerves. “Mister Osborn, it's Peter. Is Harry alright?”

There's a pause before Norman Osborn. “Why do you ask, Peter?”

“Well, he didn't come to school today and he's been... distant lately, so I was curious if he was alright is all.” There's another pause as you hear him move. “He didn't come to school? I saw him leave the house...” You hear him moving and then the sound of a door being knocked on.

When he responds next, he is less than pleased, more of a deep disappointment than anger though. “Peter, I want to thank you for calling me. Harry's had some problem's adjusting to some family issues and I wouldn't have even known had I not being working out of our home lately. I know... he's been difficult lately, but I want to thank you for being there for him despite that. You've been a real friend to him and I can't ever repay you enough.”

Hanging up, you can't help but feel horrible because of the words Norman Osborn praises you with.

After all, you called to prove your suspicions that he was the Green Goblin so you could stop him.

There's a knock at the basement door as you clean up and head upstairs. Outside the door, Aunt May looks worried, glancing at the couch, where a young girl is sitting, holding a bad of ice to her eye with tears streaming out of the other one. Your Aunt's voice remains low, as she talks to you pulling you back into the basement. “I already called Captain Stacy and Ben, apparently its a domestic situation with one of your friends. She said her brother told her to run here if she was ever in trouble.”

The girl glances over at you as you close the basement door behind you and takes deep breathes as she tries to talk. “...My brother said that I should come here if I'm in trouble or get hurt. He hasn't been home for days after he and...” She takes a deep breath before hesitantly continuing. “...after he left the house after fightn' with papa. He hasn't been home since, but he told me before to come here if...”

She sobs and pulls away the icepack to reveal a swollen black eye. “...he told me he'd be home soon, but its been days and I don't know where my brother is, Mister Parker...”

>have to end it here folks, sorry for the late and somewhat short thread, but I have to end it here.

Flash?

Thanks for the thread Cos, hope next time will be better for you.
>>
>>38964577
Shit, he's been telling his dad that we're still friends with him.

>>38964582
Also, did we know Flash had a sister?
>>
>>38964582

Oh goddammit, Flash, where are you.

And dammit Harry.
>>
>>38964582
Eh, it was a bit late, but it's nice to see it still around, and I still had fun. Hope you get more free time in general.

I feel like, since the roots of our falling out was when we were operating under the mistaken assumption that his dad killed our dad, we should give Harry some benefit of the doubt that he might just be acting up/be mentally unwell. Like we should definitely still investigate him, but don't, say, jump him in an alley wearing our Spider-Man costume saying "NO GOBLIN ESCAPES THE SPIDER MAN"
>>
>>38964637
Actually, just leaping in front of people we suspect and staring at him with our featureless mask with mirrored lenses for eyes to see how they react could be a valid way of investigating people. Retarded, but might actually work.
>>
With the title of the thread being nuclear, I wodner what we were expected to do? I'm guessing we were gonna go to school and have some kind of big confrontation?
>>
I don't like how things start to escalate into the "Peter is only one to save everybody's butts" direction, pretty large amount of the stuff happening would require a co-op from at least one or two people due to Peters limited knowledge/skills, like whatever genetic problem Symbiote-Parker may have could be solved by just the overdrive to people (Sue and Reed) who knows what to do with it, or the fight with HobGoblin with which he could easily won if not for Gwen stealth attack. It feels like whatever situation Peter tries to solve on his own it only turning worst than it started.
I guess I kind of see Peter being Korra, when the stuff getting really heavy story wise so much that there is no push from protagonist Peter's friends are the to fix it, which make me wonder why not just ask/let them help in first place?
Sorry if this seem rude but I just can't help look at all of this in such way.
>>
>>38964936
I don't know, I just really don't fucking want Peter Parker to become EMIYA, since that would be a terrible direction for everyone. The trouble is, it seems like that's the only way we can actually be a superhero.

That was a Spectacular Spectacular Spider-planning-thread

I still think Stark is the correct way to go about hitting back at Hydra/SHIELD. Oscorp is morally dubious as is, but Stark seems like a genuine altruist with his methods. We can make a copy of everything on the Hard Drive and bring it to him, keep the original hidden away.
>>
>>38967006
does our dossier about Hydra/shield/wintersoldier include proof that Hydra was responsible for Howard's death?
>>
>>38967096
I'm not sure, honestly...give me a bit, I'll check.
>>
>>38967721
Nothing in the Archives, though we haven't actually looked at everything in the drive yet. We should make a note to do that ASAP. Talk to Felicia and get a database available for Stark to look over at his leisure.

The Tesseract Arc is going to be fucking amazing.
>>
>>38968033
We shouldn't show stark so blatantly.

Rather, we have to show him in circumstances no one else would be able to see it.

Like, a nearby data transmission burst picked up by his armor's com signals with all the relevant data in the middle of a fight between him and Spider-man, with the text instruction to keep the fight going or we're both dead men.
>>
>>38968123
I don't know if we should be that subtle about it. I was thinking more have Mrs. Potts bring it to him in a copy drive, which includes an address to a meeting place we've thoroughly de-bugged ourselves and instructions to bring the armor but be as low profile as someone like Stark can be.

Should we bring the Four in on this? They could definitely help.
>>
>>38968168
We should also give pots explicit instructions that it is only to be looked at one a computer that is offline, which no one would expect stark to be using. She should pick up a refurbished laptop from one of electronics shops throughout the city and remove the wifi card and show it to him on that. Older the model the better.
