>Summary:
You are techpriest Heracor Nahive. You were forcefully implanted a brain chip that made you into little more than a working drone, after escaping your homeworld you somehow got yourself into a Inquisitorial Cruiser.
>>
Your HUD’s clock marked the 10:03pm, according to the bionic constructor Cybernetica Techpriest their operation room should have ended repairing the two Skitarius that you defeated by now.

As you advanced more and more you got lost in your thoughts wondering what kind of bionics this particular Cruiser would have you suddenly found a strong yet feminine hand pressing against your armored chest. You needed to focus a little to see who was stopping you on your tracks since half of your lenses were broken. In front of you lied once again the fearmongering Inquisitor.

“I have already heard what have you done so far…you are doing good so far.”
Luckily you lacked eyes to roll, of course she knew what you did, there were ears and eyes everywhere and any of her retinue would snitch you as her crew processed of her a mix of admiration, loyalty and pure undiluted fear.

“I’m glad to be useful for your cause, Inquisitor.” You answered.

After your short exchange of words she grabbed you from your robes, something really personal and unthinkable among the techpriests. Some seconds of silence passed like this where she didn't let you push nor pull yourself away, all she did was force you to look at her face at all times, even to the point of using her free hand to grab you from the jaw.

“You do really lack a soul?”

All you could see was your own curved and distorted reflection on her polished mask. The metallic surface seemed to have some unnatural properties as the light it reflected was of a purple hue, if it weren't impossible you could have sworn that it was ultraviolet light. With a sonorous sight she let you free and revealed her face.

A straight diagonal scar that crossed from her lower lip to her cheek was pretty noteworthy and one of the first things to notice from her freckled mature face. Two almond shaped green colored eyes rested above a small and snub nose, on top of her head there was a pixie cut blonde hair with some white streaks.
>>
>>38929891
With a wrist movement she looked at her reflection and immediately moved away from her reflection. Even someone as uninterested in looks like you knew that she wasn’t ugly, what did she saw?

“You see, this mask is made from Warpsteel…It is a unique material that I found some years ago while on a feudal planet. It has been impossible to recreate even with the most advanced forgeries. What it makes it unique is that when polished enough and turned into a mirror it won’t reflect the material universe but your soul and sins. Nobody can look at this for more than five minutes, especially not a psychically attuned mind like me or a warp creature. “

She breathed slowly for some minutes, relaxing as best as she could before placing the mask again.

“Even if this steel is of empyrean origins it has saved many lives. I gave to the most skilled crewmembers a small mirror made of this material so they could look the reflection that others people had, with this we have been able to detect many daemons who inhabited human bodies before their plans could come to fruition. It is also served me countless of times when interrogating heretics…”

You continued in silence, both because you didn’t knew what to say and because interrupting her could be considered insubordination.
>>
>>38929938
“Fear is one of the best weapons we have at our hands. It is a psychological blade that can break even the thickest armours and the toughest bodies and attack directly the psyche. I know that you are going to modify your body now. I am offering you a Warpsteel plate to armor your already eerie looking visage. It won’t only protect you from harm but also help you like it helped me. Consider it, Heracor.”

With this said she turned around and disappeared into a secret corridor whose hidden entrance mechanism remained a mystery for you.

Meditating about it you continued your path and reached the Cybernetica School. You were guided to a bed and once lying on it you were connected with the available bionic list. You lost touch with your surrounding and all you could see was the possible options, some faint steps formed around you, the Chirurger Magos readying themselves to proceed with the options that you chose.

>List of bionics in the next post.
>>
>>38929971
>Sound Dampener:
An upgrade to your vox caster. It lets you create a small silence bubble around your body, effectively making all your moments silent. While using it you cannot talk nor listen to the vox messages you receive. Activation/Deactivation generates a sharp noise.

>Trisceles Pattern Plasma Generator:
A generator installed next to your heart, it is potent enough to power all your bionics without having the risk of becoming underpowered. It generates a lot of heat and noise too. If damaged it will have to be removed and launched away as there is a high risk of it exploding. In case the heart becomes damaged the generator will act as a substitute for 48 hours max. It also carries a pair of long coils that are fitted on the back and generate a lot of light the more energy the user consumes.

>Hexagrammic Bonecarving:
Using several cutting lasers all your muscles are opened and the bones are carved with a puncturing tool. This entire process has to be done without anesthesia and it’s really painful.

>Gas Ejected Harpoon:
A harpoon roughly the same size of your forearm that can be shoot from your palm. It can be fitted with a chain that can be used to transmit electricity with. It is potent enough to pierce light and medium armor.
>>
>>38930038
>Geminii arm:
A bionic arm that can bifurcate into two in three key points, the wrist, the elbow and the shoulder. When bifurcating it separates into two independent arms, while separated they are weaker and cannot carry as much weight as together.

>Grav Chute:
A small, backpack size anti-gravitic device that allows to float safely to the ground on a column of anti-gravitic force from any height in a world's gravity well, including sub orbital heights.

> Hidden feet daggers:
A pair of five inch daggers situated on the soles and activated via a neural order, those blades aren’t long enough to kill someone on their own but they can act as a diversion or as a way to deliver a final blow.

>Stomachial Biotransformer:
Replaces his stomach and most part of the digestive system with a electrochemical substitute. He will be able to survive and feed himself of any usable power. This bionic doesn't means he will not need to eat anymore; it will just feed him enough to stay alive. He is unable to starve but will start losing fat and muscle if not feed with solid food.

>Warpsteel Facial Covering:
A metallic covering for your skull like face that will both provide you with some armor and act as an intimidation tool.
>>
These upgrades are making me giddy with excitement...

>grav chute
Sounds utterly balling. We can just jump out of valkyries and land safe and sound. Question: is the initial descent fast? Do we just drift slowly all the way? Can we activate half-way down for a quicker fall and have enough time to decelerate to a safe landing speed again?

>warpsteel facial covering
Rather than a full face mask, can we have a pair of lenses tinted with this? My reasoning is as follows:
- Unlike the inquisitor we can't remove a facial covering, it might be nice to not be terrifying everyone on occasions
- Have it as a pair of lenses is a little more discreet and they could have shutters to hide them entirely
- This would also allow us to try and talk nice to someone all Heracor style and then when they aren't doing as we ask we can flick them open and say "STARE INTO MY EYES" whilst showing them their fears and sins
- I'm a little confused about the end of >>38929938 - was it saying that the metal could be used to see other peoples sins and so on? That it could reveal a daemons true nature? Is this looking through the material as if it were like tinted sunglasses or more akin to peering around a corner using a mirror to show you a reflection of what's around it?

I hope that makes sense.

One way or another, we can get ourselves a better spine here right?
...right?
>>
>>38930038
Hexagrammic Bonecarving
what does this do?
>>
>>38930229
>is the initial descent fast?
Depends on the planet's gravity.

>Do we just drift slowly all the way?
It's a possibility, it will drain the fuel thought. This while safer to land will make it take more time and you will be an easier target.

>Can we activate half-way down for a quicker fall and have enough time to decelerate to a safe landing speed again?
Yes but there is the risk of having fall damage.

>Rather than a full face mask, can we have a pair of lenses tinted with this?
It could be used to make one way lenses. The kind of shades that are reflective from one side but not from the other. The people who see their reflection will see their true self but not Heracor because he would see the physical body not the warp reflection.

>That it could reveal a daemons true nature?
Yes, some crewmembers have small mirrors made of Warpsteel because they can see that way who is possessed or plain chaotic.

>Is this looking through the material as if it were like tinted sunglasses or more akin to peering around a corner using a mirror to show you a reflection of what's around it?
more akin to peering around a corner using a mirror

>One way or another, we can get ourselves a better spine here right?
Well I haven't listed them but yes. You can get generic organ and bone substitutes. I also want to say that this isn't the full list. If we manage to become considered members of this ship's Skitarius we will unlock some other cool bionics that are exclusive to them.

>>38930365
Shit, forgot to write it. It makes you be harder to possess by daemons or control by psyker powers. It has to be done on human bones so the more bionic you are the less effective it is.
>>
>>38930413
Oh fuck yeah, make sun glasses. that sounds awesome.
Also pass on the bone carvings then, i mean you need a soul to be possessed, right?
>>
>>38930443
>you need a soul to be possessed, right?
I'm not sure, machines can be possessed.
>>
>>38930413
So, to clarify, can we get him a set of warpsteel lenses that he can see out from and also see the true nature of the beings he sees through it?

Or maybe a slight tube beyond the lense that is mirrored with the warpsteel so that he can see reflections of things from it?
>>
>>38930413
I was wondering, because lenses lack a bit of intimidation factor, if we could use a detachable mask. That way we can scare, and detach it to use as a mirror for others.
also sound dampener, so we can solid snake.
>>
>>38930538
>>38930544
I like the lens idea as well, as long as there was a way we could see the reflection too
>>
>>38930538
The lenses would make him see normal but the ones who look at him would see the scary stuff.

>>38930544
I said armor for his skull. I never said that it couldn't be detached.
>>
>>38930608
Ah in that case I like that option the best as ist additional armor. Could we have that and retracting lenses. Combined with sound dampening you could intimidate hardcore. As well as be subtle and have the normal friendly Heracor face.

>>38930544
We'd have to carry it around then, unless there wa some sort of auto-"fold back around head" mechanism.

>>38930608
Could we not have a lense looking through a mirrored tube as shown in the 'diagram'?
>>
>>38930680
Wouldn't that be really complicated? I mean I understand the mechanism but Heracor would have to look at a curved mirror...

>We'd have to carry it around then, unless there was some sort of auto-"fold back around head" mechanism.
So, something like pic related? Sorry for taking long, finding a good gif was a pain in the ass.
>>
>>38930799
>Wouldn't that be really complicated?
I figured it'd be simple enough for a techpriest to put together but if not that retractable armoured face mask is pretty ballin'.
>>
>>38930834
Not hard to construct, but to use. Imagine having to look using your peripheral vision at a curved mirror, and the reflection you see is something warped and strange. I think it would be really hard to use.
>>
>>38930869
Ah, I get you. I figured that since it's bionic eyes behind the lense anyway that the shape of that and the way it's processed electronically might be able to mitigate that issue.

Failing that, even with awkward peripheral vision he should be able to get a sense for who's daemonic and who's not right? He doesn't necessarily need a clear view of them to tell that something's amiss.
>>
>>38930908
Let's end this pointless discussion easily. Let's continue working with the Inquisitor and she might give us a shiny warpmirror. You ok with that?
>>
>>38930956
Sorry, I didn't mean to continue this unnecessarily, I was just explaining my thoughts behind it.

Sounds fine by me
>>
Ok then. What bionics do you guys want to install?
>>
>>38931029
Were you going to give a list of the rest of the available ones? Do we have time and energy constraints to juggle still?
>>
>>38931029
>Sound dampener
>Geminii arm, Because with recoil-less las/hellpistol we can quadruple wield.
And you just said we'll get a mirror so that's that i guess. Nothing else stands out as do want.
>>
Well I would usually put some restrictions and such but since it seems that there are only two players there cannot truly be a discussion about what to install and what not...We just group the team and explain the mission to write some fluff and maybe later, when there are more players, we get to the bionics?
>>
>>38931029
My personal choices:
>Grav Chute
>Sound Dampener (freakin' noise marines)
>Warpsteel Facial Covering (retractable)
>Reinforced Spine

And I'm thinking about a retractable cable, that can be used for lashing with the right upgrade or have some sort of grappling hook attached. But that can wait for another day. No need to go overboard, and it's just an idea.
>>
>>38931154
Yeah I suppose those are somewhat big decisions, or at least people will argue like they are. If not enough people are here yet it would probably be better to explore/interact, we can come back to this later I suppose. It prevents buthurt at any rate.
>>
>>38931154
Sounds reasonable but either way my list of choices in order of priority are as follows:
-Flexible Non-rigid spine
-Metallic Alloy Cranium
-Grav Chute
-Warpsteel mask
-Sound Dampener
-Geminii arm
-Hidden feet daggers

Thoughts on the plasma generator are that it's not the safest thing to have beside your heart, though I'm still pretty interested in it so up to other people.

I don't think the harpoon is worth its weight and size, it'd be better to grab a hidden blade like before. A harpoon would have to be retrieved to use for a second attack, a blade doesn't

Bonecarving seems a little lacking since we're slowly replacing all of his bones with metal substitutes.

Stomachial biotransfer is something I feel could go either way. Not sure how much we really need it yet and we might well encounter a superior version later.
>>
>>38931254
>>38931247
I like these options, whether we decide now or not. About the gravchute though, does it have to be a permanently attached augmetic? I feel it'll be pretty bulky, wheras most people just use a parachute/backpack version (ours would have to be bigger) magnetic feet already does this for more than half the situations we would come across.
>>
>>38931339
I figure the gravchute essentially lets us deepstrike and I also can't help but think back to that time we had to smash through some floors and try not to fall to our death

But yeah, I wonder about the bulkiness too.
>>
>>38931354
I was thinking more of just rigging a guards's to support our weight and using it just for insertions and then tossing it, just like they do. As opposed to an augmetic welded onto us. Besides we'll probably get some levitation bullshit down the road
>>
>>38931439
Alright, you've persuaded me. I retract my vote for the gravchute

On your way towards the operation room you passed next to the recovery habitaculums. There the two Skitarii Faust and Eugen chatted lightly and about weird topics, probably caused by the effects of the anesthesia.

Knocking softly with your only hand you entered in.

"Greetings, Skitarius."

Eugen waved her weapon arms and Faust did the same with his clawed hand. It seemed that their disgust for having lost against you was now smaller and that they even respected you to some degree.

"We want to apologize for our behavior." Started Faust. "I wanted to prove myself to the other members by defeating the outsider. I acted reckless and my defeat was something I deserved, I thank to the Omnissiah for having taught me that lesson."

Her female companion was silent but looked at you with her big eyes and nodded at all he said.

"I just hope we will be useful at your command and that the clearing of this mission will grant us pardon and reacceptance into the Skitarii members."

That caught you off guard.

"Have you two been suspended for being defeated?"

"Impossible, the only way of stop being an Skitarii is being killed out of combat. We just were relegated from commanding powers."

They were warriors to the end, both in their mentality and physique. While late most of the people you recruited were mere students, they were probably still awake. Getting them in there and showing them who their defenders would be would be beneficial for everybody as the Skitarii would get a sensation of responsibility and the techpriests would feel safer. You waited a few minutes until their state of mind became more clear and less drugged and then called the rest of the group.

Sooner than you expected the rest came and were ready to introduce to each other. As both the leader and an Skitarii you introduced the two recently repaired Skitarus to the rest of the team before they introduced themselves.
>>
>>38931528
I remember Faust thought about fighting some big bad heretek someday. we don't have much experience, but we still have some. We could tell him about our encounter with the magos biologis heretek (minus the disc) as an example of things he could expect. We would likely gain some respect in his eyes.
>>
"Well, the person on my right is Faust. He is an all melee focused warrior and will be the one who protects your group. His body is equipped with a very strong tentacle shaped bionic that can, make a lot of damage..." You lowered your robe and showed them the circular scar that he gave you during the fight. "He's also equipped with a powerful claw that could tear and shear any of you."

The entire group squirmed with that statement, they seemed to be afraid of the Skitarii as a whole group but also looked like they respected them individually.

"Eugen, here in my left is the inverse, totally focused on ranged combat, exploration and support. She has three different weapons that can be used according to the situation and has on herself an exotic traveling method that lets her float and fly. With them you will be safe."

Some shy smiles followed until one decided to step up and introduce himself. He was Aldric, the welder that built bionics and had a relaxed and somewhat immature nature.

"Name's Aldric Liquefactio. I build and repair bionics in the Cybernetica schola. If any of you has trouble with their machine spirits let me know and I'll look at them free of charge."

He was a good integration, seemed competent and intelligent but you were hoping that his behavior didn't stick with the rest of the team. As nobody else introduced you just pointed to the one who was closest to Aldric, the chubby and nervous techpriest of Mandati.

"Hello to you all...My name is Parabellum and I am an student in the Mandati schola. I study Command and Strategy and if any of you dare to disobey an order I'll be really mad, orders need to be followed at all cost no matter what!"

Parabellum seemed to have no patience at all and he got mad all by himself, the Investigatus student moved away a little bit from her creeped from his behavior. With a shrug you pointed at her and she went next.

"HelloyesminameisWilhelminanicetomeetyouall"

She only stopped to breath.

"I'mandInvestigatusstudentandIlearnaboutAdvancedMilitaryDesignandConstruction."

Then she bowed twice pretty fast and gave her speech for ended. Everybody was pretty dumbfounded about what they heard and saw and many didn't understood half of it. As they still got the name and the schola they just ignored it as a quirk and went on. Then next two were the incredibly tall duo from Stella Navis. Outside of their enviroment with no gravity they had to use some small bionics that helped them moving and standing up.

"Greetings, we are Opiuchus and Cetus. We have been blessed by the Omnissiah with this mission as we will be able to explore a frigate. All our conversations will occur by vox-com as we will work outside the ship most of the time."

Ironically the most normal introduction came from the most freakish looking students. The small wheelchair bounded girl next to them stood out for the big height difference, she barely reached their knees.

"My designation is 419N||990 and I am a server in the Digitalis schola. I hope our work is quick, efficient and that no interruption occurs."

Half of her face was hidden under her mask, she had a sweet childlike voice but her tone was cold and efficient.

Titania, the fit Metallurgis student with a long hair and lots of spikes winked at the welder Aldric and proceeded.

"My name is Titania, I study the materials and ores. I could say if your bionics are of good or bad quality from their composition..." Then she spit the next words taunting him. "If any of you has trouble with their machine spirits let me know and I'll look at them free of charge."

With the introduction complete you now had to act.

Now that they all were around you decided to advance some of the briefing of the mission.

"Tomorrow we will head into the "Eternal Penance" frigate. It was used to extract wounded persons at the darkest hour. I'm going to be honest, there will be dead bodies, lots of them, maybe some in advanced decomposition from the heat of the machines...Our work is to get the ship working and it also includes cleaning it from any kind of impurity."

Faces of disgust appeared in most of them, they weren't used to having death so close and the idea of having to work with cadavers was something they didn't expected.

"What will we do with them, dump them out of the airlock?" Asked Wilhelmina

"No!" You felt offended by that proposition. "Those dead bodies are from warriors of the Imperium, people who died so you could live."

"Maybe...we could collect all their tech and use their bodies to fuel the forge, it is what we do with the 90% of the people who die on board."

Since you barely had any experience on board of a spaceship you didn't knew about it but it was logical, there would be no space to hold all those bodies, burning them was the only way.

"We'll take them out and burn them." You confirmed.

"What else do we have to do?" Asked Parabellum.

"The ship has to be operative before we reach our destination. How many days until we exit warpspace?"

"Three weeks." Answered Cetus.

"There is no time to loss them, tomorrow morning we will start and make 12 hour working shifts."

The students acted with varying enthusiasm but none rejected the idea.

"We will all communicate via an intranet vox channel. If anything happens we will say it and the rest will stop what they are doing and aid. Understood?"

This time there was lesser enthusiasm, the idea of helping and socializing was something that didn't pleased so much it seemed.
>>
>>38932536
>Send them all to rest for tomorrow, go to bed too.

With that said and discussed you gave your first order and sent them all to rest. It was almost midnight now. There were about ten hours to sleep, way more than enough.

You were the one who had to make the longest journey back as you didn't lived in the Cathedral but in the Inquisitor's mansion.

That building was totally out of place and was a excessive sign of vanity and nostalgia but you had to admit that it was a architectural marvel. She didn't only brought from her homeworld her Mansion but also the gardens. On top of the hull lied a circular garden that surrounded the building and was covered in a crystalline dome to protect the trees from the void. During the warp travels the shadows that formed among the branches seemed to form words and spoke of secrets, people rumored that those strange messages were the reason of why visiting that garden was totally forbidden during those jumps.

The trees and different plants were still visible from your room and yet you didn't really gave them much attention.

Softly you got on your bed and remembered to lock the door to avoid being woke up by the small girl once again. Tomorrow was going to be a new day. As you programmed the alarm clock you closed your eyes and immediately fell asleep.
>>
A bad dream woke you up in the middle of the night, you recalled all the events that happened and saw the faces of all the friends that you lost and all the warp creatures that you fought with.

In years past you heard that the feeble minded people could have nightmares when sleeping during a warp travel due to their ignorance and superstitions but you never thought that the same would happen to you.

You weren't ignorant nor feeble minded, you knew what those creatures...those...daemons are...right?

Suddenly lots of doubts filled your mind. What if you found those beasts again, what kind of their classes could exist, the only ones you saw, millions of variations maybe? You couldn't say and the doubts were killing you.

The best cure for being scared of demons is to know that I have a giant spaceship to throw at them.

Let's get to work.

Any bodies that are fresh enough get turned into servitors.

The frigate must be automated as much as possible, and we must be able to take control of it.

>Relax a bit by thinking and reading up on machines and technology you are not familiar with.
>Explore the ship.

That was the past, and you survived it when they didn't. Focus on the present; you were now on an Inquisitorial Cruiser filled with lots of new technological wonders to learn about.

Slowly you stood up and went exploring out. When walking next to Juliannus room you heard him training even at this hour. If it weren't impossible you would say that he doesn't sleeps at all. You were tempted to knock the door but then remembered that you are a nobody for him and finally you just walked away.

The mansion was elegant, there were portraits of the entire family. Oddly on them they seemed happy, it was striking to know that in reality the now deceased husband was an hypocrite, that the wife is a fearmonger and that the daughter considers some people little more than toys.

Shuddering about what could Mellizune become in the future you walked out. There were barely any people around. Slaves cleaning the corridors, servitors checking the machines and a few unlucky guards doing the Night shift. You ended walking aimlessly hoping to find some tech that caught your attention. You weren't very hopeful about it and honestly your eyes were more looking to your feet than the walls and machines that you crossed. It was then when you hit yourself against somebody.
>>
>>38933244

Even with you walking at a somewhat quick pace and all your weight you stumbled and ended falling down while the stranger managed to stay immutable in her position. From the ground you looked upwards and saw a hooded figure whose face was hidden. Without any word she lend you her hand, you didn't expected her to be able to lift you up but as soon as you tried getting up on your own her hand grabbed yours and swiftly raised you back to your feet.

"Thank you, stranger."

"Thanks to you too, Walker."

You were at first puzzled by the nickname she gave you but maybe it was just a quirk, like the nickname that Fire in the skin gave you. With that said she turned away and walked into the shadows.

Your clock ticked almost six am. Maybe you were now distracted enough to sleep some few hours.

Whoever she was is now gone. Only a few mechanical and heavy steps indicating her presence as she swiftly walks away. Your walk tired both your body and your mind, even if if were a few hours you would be able to sleep through the night without any problem.

Back on your room you tried to clear your mind. It was half past six...you had about four hours of sleep yet. Closing your eyes once again you managed to fall asleep without bad dreams this time.

At the estimated hour everybody was waiting and ready to go.

Opiuchus and Cetus (Stella Navis: Starships and Void engineering) were already wearing their voidsuits. They carried magentic soles, a jetpack, flares, their tools and a magnetic grappling hook to travel around the hull of the ship.

Wilhemnia (Investigatus: Advanced Military Design and Construction) wore a heavy rig that would let her both study and carry the heavy and dangerous materials like ammunition or weapons.

419N||990 ( Digitalis: Computer Sciences ) didn't carried anything special, she was in fact dressed as yesterday.

Titania (Metallurgicus: Material Sciences) wore her long hair in a braid that reached her breasts and covered her entire armor and hood in polished spikes.

Parabellum (Mandati: Command and Strategy) got himself some heavy armor, maybe the idea of being part of a mission instead of controlling and shouting orders from a safe distance terrified him but his "obey all orders" mentality made him come anyway.

Aldric (Cybernetica: Robotics and Bionics) was equipped with his welding rig and drawn a crude servoskull on his welding mask. He also carried several bottles filled with different fuels for his torch hands.

The two Skitarii were armored and dressed as when you fought them, the only difference was that they removed all the Skitarii guard decorations and honors from their armors as their mentalities dictated that they didn't deserved them.

>>
>>38933827
You wore your armor and your coat covering your lack of arm. On your hack your big plasma rifle hummed softly and emitted a greenish light.

>10AM
"Today is the first day. We will explore the ship and analyze the damage. We will check what parts need to be repaired and which ones need priority."

With this said the entire group headed towards the airlock and you opened it. There was a dark corridor that connected with the frigate and stirred from time to time, the magnetic anchor was big and powerful but carrying such a massive ship made it move some centimeters from time to time, making the entire corridor stretch with the painful sound of grinding metals.

The interior was incredibly bleak, there were dozens of dead bodies and the air was stale and had dangerous biohazards on it. Some bodies had lied next to still lit and hot machines for almost three days and their rot and decaying was severe.

You found the same baby that you saw the first time you were on the ship, it was now immobile and its skin got a sickly purple tone.

"T-this is the transportation bay, the place were people and some cargo are moved. Have this zone as a reference for future explorations..."

What should they focus on?

>Clean the bodies.
The entire group tried to avoid the bodies to a bigger or lesser degree. Oddly the youngest member, the child from Digitalis didn't seemed bothered by them, she was incredibly apathetic

"You knew what we came for; separate the bodies in three parts. The ones that are still alive and can be turned into servitors, the ones who are dead but whose bodies aren't rot and can be recycled for raw materials and the ones who cannot be used at all…”

“What if we found a body that is alive but cannot be turned into servitor?”
Coldly you answered. “Put them into the second group, if he is of no use he doesn’t isn’t alive.”

The Skitarii now acted more as your bodyguard rather than their protectors, they stomped any intent of avoiding the task.

With a look of disgust they all looked and studied the bodies to classify them into one of the three groups. The stench was terrible and more than one puked their breakfast when moving the bodies. You saw bodies in the past but they were fresh, they were hard to look at but at least their presence didn’t sicken you like those bodies did with them.

After a hard and long day there were three mounds. The first one was the smallest but their incorporation as servitors would always be welcome, besides they were so weak and confused that their minds were unable to understand what was going on. The second group was a little bit larger but their parts had to be moved quickly or they would decay and become unusable. The last one was bigger than you, dozens of body parts with half rotten flesh and exposed bones.
>>
>>38934954

The twelve hours were already done and the Skitarii finally let them go out, not before forcing a detoxing purification shower on them.

There were some servitors ready to work but they weren’t enough to move all bodies while you were away. You could order them to protect the first two smaller groups and move them to the Cathedral but then they wouldn’t have time to move the bigger rotting mound. If you moved the bigger group safely to burn them then the first two groups would stay there all night, there is a big chance of losing the availability of some of them. There was a third option, programming the servitors to take the rotten bodies to the engines of the Frigate on their own and then move most of the first two groups to the Cathedral, since the rotten bodies couldn’t come in contact with alive people while traveling to the engine they wouldn’t need to be sealed and the path would be smaller and quicker, thus leaving some time to transport the other groups.

>Move the first two groups (Alive/Raw) and leave the third for the rest of the night.
>Move the entire third group out and burn it safely in the Cathedral. Leave the first two for the rest of the night.
>Order the servitors to move the third group to power the engine and move 1/3 of the first two groups to the Cathedral.
>Free action.

>>
>>38934976
>Move the first two groups (Alive/Raw) and leave the third for the rest of the night.
I figure it's in our best interests to get the good stuff tidied away now. That way we won't generate more bodies in need of incinerating and we maximise our recycling yield.

The bodies have been nurgling for three days, one more won't hurt and there's no doubt plenty more bodies tucked away in the ship that will be rotten before we can find them anyway
>>
>>38934976
>>Move the first two groups (Alive/Raw) and leave the third for the rest of the night.
Those are the two valuable groups, the third group is minimally valuable waste biomass. We have no use for it and we could let the servitors do all of this dangerous shit for us after that work is done.
>>
Remember, herecor is a hardcore efficiency autist, the third group is biomass with no other use than burning as fuel. He would value this the least of anything. He also doesn't know much about chaos other than spooky scary demons can make you insane and often times violate physics and spawn from bloodshed.
>>
>>38935213
Yep.
And tomorrow there's a chance he will learn about NURGLE (*children cheering*)

I imagine he's the least likely to pick up mechanicus worshipers, due to bringing rust, ruin, and disrepair to machinery and technology and such.
>>
>>38934976
>Move the first two groups (Alive/Raw) and leave the third for the rest of the night.

Those bodies have been dead for three days and won’t move away... You order the servitors to carefully move the first two groups and to ignore the third one.

With that done you place some more servitors in that corridor with the pre-recorded vox that said the following “++PATH CLOSED, PLEASE FIND ANOTHER ROUTE++” message.

It was about 11pm. Maybe you still had time to apply the bionics on yourself, you only hoped to not wake up this time, as it would mean you waking up in the middle of the operation.

>>Get the Bionics
>>
>Basic Bionic limbs:
Arms and legs that can me modified with many different bionics and weapons, they are the first augmentation of almost every techpriest.

>Substitute Organs:
They can replace damaged organs. Their coverage makes it a little bit more resilient but this difference is way too small to be noticed in combat.

>Reinforced Spine (FINALLY):
A adamantium spine, it will make you feel really heavy and destabilize your balance until you get used to it. Let's you upgrade your dendrite limit to 12.

>(INCOMPATIBLE WITH GEMINII ARM)
>>
>>38935530

Can we combine the Plasma Generator and the Grav-chute for a limited flight ability ?
>>
>Flexible Non-rigid spine: A flexible spine made from cartilage polymer that lets you bend your back in impossible ways, it is sturdy enough to survive blunt impacts but chemicals and fire affects it. It decreases the dendrite limit to four.

>Grav Chute:
A small, backpack size anti-gravitic device that allows to float safely to the ground on a column of anti-gravitic force from any height in a world's gravity well, including sub orbital heights. Incompatible with dendrites.

> Hidden feet daggers:
A pair of five inch daggers situated on the soles and activated via a neural order, those blades aren't long enough to kill someone on their own but they can act as a diversion or as a way to deliver a final blow.

Can be activated and deactivated with a mind order.

>Metallic Alloy Cranium:
Removes your entire skull for a metallic variant. It will make it sturdy and almost impossible to pierce but your brain becomes more susceptible to electrical attacks. People will fear you more, specially tribal, and your reaction time will be slower.
>>
>>38935654
Your skull is a giant block of fucking metal, and thats where your brain and nervous system are! Hell, its pure scifi bullshit alone that it doesn't horrifically kill you of heavy metal poisoning to begin with.

>Get the Bionics
Slowly you head towards the operation room knowing that you won't be the same once you are out.

After selecting your choice and presenting the scroll that gave you permission to have a Warpsteel mask. The Magos Biologis who was going to supervise your procedure became nervous, it was apparent that he disliked the alloy.

Soon you were lying on your stomach with a servitor spraying your back with a disinfectant using a mechanical arm, you would soon be opened and all your vertebrae substituted with a better design that would allow more dendrites. Your face rested against a gel solution that would protect your skin and bones from heat. The Biologis explained you that the only way of truly creating a mask like his would be using his face like a cast. As soon as he fell asleep his entire face would be sunk in molten Warpsteel. After this primitive and savage procedure they would need to polish all the excess until only a metallic polished cover remained. The Omnissiah wills it.

You were scared but it wasn't the first time you were under the knife. Trying to relax you ended falling asleep profusely. Tomorrow would be another day, tomorrow would be another story.

Reinforced Spine: He will have some balance problems and maybe walk a little bit hunched but Heracor is strong. He will make it.

Warpsteel Facial Covering: No recovery needed as it is just a mask.

Sound Dampener: No recovery since it's just an upgrade to an already installed bionic.

Hidden feet daggers: Same as Sound Dampener.

Thanks you running man! you and this quest are Aces!

>Is the mask going to be permanently fixed to our face then ?
Nah. That was just the process of creation. Maybe I didn't explained it well enough. They place a gel on his face. Then the face on the metal, then they polish the metal and give it the form of the face. The gel creates a separation between the face and the metal, thus becoming a mask.

>Will the skitarii let us pley with their gear given enough time or do they demand blood and no way around it ?
We need to become accepted by them. We are now just the outsiders. By defeating Faust and Eugen we have made our first steps into their acceptation.

>What would the Inquisitor's reaction be to the warpsteel tentacle hell ?
She's a psyker. She's more affected by it so surely pure rage.

>Same question about her daughter.
She would have fear instead of rage.

>pure rage
>pure fear
Hilarious and would have been totally worth it.
Thanks for the quest.

How come I get the biggest 'the dark knight' vibe from this? "Nobody cared who I was before I put on the mask." "Shoot a man and then throw him out the airlock" etc.

>"Nobody cared who I was before I put on the mask."
Mask is scary as fuck and no one cares about a tech preist unles he's a scary mofo or a high ranking admech member.

>"Shoot a man and then throw him out the airlock"
Heracor would note that anyway, It's inefficient.

The next threads will have this picture instead of the actual red one. So be careful of not missing it when scrolling down.

What IS our admech ranking anyhow?

And how would we go about improving it or learning new tech stuff?
>>
>>38937454
I dunno ask Axsisel, probably low though.

>>38937428
So our face had that get rearranged. Do we still have flash? Also, your art was good Axsisel.
>>
>>38937428
Thanks for running, looking forward to next time. Finally got our spine!
For the new dendrites we can receive I'm thinking keep at least four without specialised tools so that we can use them for fighting and stuff.
I still remember that time we had a fight right after upgrading them all and not being able to do my cunning tactics.

I would say he started as a Rune Priest and now has became some sort of lowly ranked Enginseer. He is on its way to become a Magos Errant thought.

About the Skitarii hierarchy would say he's between an Hyspasists and a Sagitarii

>Do we still have flash?
Yeah, It's just a mask, the eye bionics don't change.
>Also, your art was good Axsisel.
That wasn't mine thought. I just drew a shitty pic and posted it in a drawthread and got that. This new pic is ripped of from Mass Effect and given some changes in photoshop.

>Mass Effect
I don't remember anyone looking like that...
