It’s not often a novice shows up a master, let alone completely and utterly so. Yet you did just that to a being two steps below the Blood God himself without even breaking a sweat. Perhaps Kharn was having a bad day. Or perhaps you’re finally starting to show your true colors. Either way the results are clear: You now have both him and the daemon prince Helldrool under your metaphorical wings. Their addition to your warband could not have come at a better time. Unpredictable as the Screaming Vortex and the Warp itself is, you’ve been afforded the ability to watch the factions of the galaxy move in dilated time. Of note, your Biofleet seems to be faring well against the Orks. Ever since engaging the green-skinned Xenos its increased in size tenfold. However, the Imperium forces seem to be beating back the tendrils on their front. There’s not a battle report that goes by without mention of some “heroic” act, such as a Deathwatch Squad crippling a crucial vessel at the cost of their own lives. Highly annoying, but to be expected. The apes do ever so love fighting against inevitability. There’s also the matter of the other Chaos bands under Abaddon that may or may not be a problem in the future. Add in the strangely absent Necrons and Eldar from the global stage and you have plenty to ruminate over between hands of Poker.Speaking of… Ignitrix has to be bluffing, right? Welcome to Khornette Quest.Get the liquor for this one.

Like all things 40k, the gauntlet runs from “worshiping the printed word” to “over the top silliness.” Most of the time it’s somewhere in between. Others it swerves hard to one side and/or breaks this model entirely. You’ve been warned in advance.Alternatively, if you’re not at all familiar with canon or want more details on something, just ask!All rolls go against a specified characteristic in the style of Black Crusade. You’ll want to roll under the characteristic value in order to pass the check. The more degrees of success (every multiple of 10 counts as 1), the more awesome of a result. A 1 is a guaranteed success, and a 100 is a guaranteed failure. Best of three rolls when it’s called for, with a 1 or a 100 instantly taking precedence. If multiple characteristics are being rolled for each 1d100 counts for its respective test. Any rolls prior to the call for one and those not linking said post will be ignored.IMPORTANT: Your Infamy Burning abilities have been cut off. You only get the one reroll a session and that’s it. Pray to the Dice Gods for low rolls.Excessive meta/whining/waifu’ing/etc goes to another thread. Blatant Samefaggotry and overly lewd write-ins will be ignored.
“I see your eight skulls and raise you… eighteen.”Kharn slams his bare fist down on the table before him and glares at Ignitrix. “YOU’RE FULL OF SHIT, BIRD.”Ignitrix looks at him coyly, then replies, “Well then put your skulls where your mouth is, dumbass.”“WHY YOU…”++I’m out,++ says Helldrool as he tosses his cards inPoker is turning out to be a nice way to defuse the situation between all parties involved. Sure, Helldrool’s still about five seconds away from strangling Kharn, Ignitrix now has a pile of skulls behind her larger than yours, and Kharn’s being… Kharn, but it’s progress, right? Plus it's giving you time to think about what to do next which is always a good thing.“The bet’s to you, Cinder,” prompts Ignitrix. You glance down at your hand. Four 8’s and a 10: a four of a kind. >>38834762So... do we get to roll perils of the warp on punches after the incident?
>>38834568You’ve already lost a sizeable amount of skulls to Ignitrix. You’re not about to foolishly lose anymore. So you stare at her intensely. She doesn’t have many tells (that you know of) but there is one that always gives her away: Whenever she’s excited, her wings perk up ever so imperceptibly. Also you can see off the reflection in her eyes that she has a royal flush. “Nope,” you respond, following Helldrool’s example and folding.“HAH! AND YOU CALL YOURSELF A MAST-”Ignitrix grins smugly and reveals her hand. “Royal Flush~”“SON OF A FUCKING BITCH.”You all have a laugh at Kharn’s expense as the Lady of Change takes his second-to-last skull from him. As she starts to deal the next hand, she casually remarks, “So… what’s the plan now?”You tilt you head to the side slightly as your cards float over to you, “Hm?”“Well I mean are you going to go deal with Abaddon and Cadia, your competitor that numbnuts over here couldn’t hope to handle, the Biofleet’s push into Scintilla, or something else entirely?”++They all have rather equal merits from a long-term perspective,++ offers Helldrool. ++Personally, though, I would much like to see Abaddon brought down a peg. He has been hounding me for use of my Warp Tunnel for centuries like he is OWED such a thing.++“Phrasing,” chips in Ignitrix.“HAH! SHE GOT YOU GOO- WHAT THE FUCK ARE THESE CARDS?!”“Folding then?”“FUCK NO. I START BY GOING ALL IN.” Which is all of one skull but Kharn doesn’t seem to care.“Abaddon huh,” you mumble. “He’ll be there regardless I think. It’s mostly a function of when I get tired of him myself and/or want to push into Cadia.”“Yup… Oh and I suppose at SOME point we need to get you a proper weapon.”You’re taken aback. “What’s wrong with my claws or my firestorm blade?!”(cont)

>>38834980“What would you suggest then, Iggy?”She shrugs and then looks at her cards. They’re quickly tossed into the middle. “I have a few ideas in mind. One involves the same process that made Warmaker.”“YOU KNOW DAMN WELL THAT’S HERESY, BIRD,” interjects Kharn.“Pft. Khornate heresy maybe, but only if you want to nitpick. Magic’s used all the time to make your daemon engines, weapons, and so on. Or did you forget that somewhere between being hit in the head over and over?”You stop Kharn from flipping over the table by placing a single hand on his unarmored shoulder and forcing him back into his seat. “So it involves… what exactly?” you ask.“Most important of all? A spell. One that was lost when Tzeentch, well, lost. I know the Blue Scribes will have found it at some point so it’s just a matter of tracking those fools down.”++But are they not outside of time itself?++“Helldrool please. Remember who you’re talking to.”The mechanical daemon prince chortles at that as he makes to ruffle her hair. ++You’ll always be the same scared little Trix to me. Sorry.++Ignitrix herself huffs and brushes his hand aside after a few moments. “It really doesn’t matter though. Or, well, I guess it does but it’s not important unless we choose to do that first.”You let out a hum as you mull this over. A bigger, better, more powerful weapon would certainly help you conquer the material realm much faster. But it would mean abandoning your forces for a time. Like the other options, it has its own share of pros and cons. But you still have to decide on one of them.> Go after Abaddon> Go burn Scintilla> Attempt to find your competitor for the big chair> Obtain Ultima Weapon

>>38835560> The way I see it, having a weapon similar to Khorne's is a huge deal. It's already described as being able to sunder whole worlds and tear open the fabric of reality with each swing. Winning a Black Crusade with it would be trivial.Plus I think people forget what Blue Scribes + Iggy means and I'm excited to see that happen
>>38835877I have forgotten what that means, so what does it mean?
Is anyone else excited for teaparties?
>>38835900The Blue Scribes are off recording every spell ever to exists so Tzeentch can regain his full power.Tzeentch is Iggy. Or will be. Or already is and is just playing us. I don't fucking know but I'm sure he/she is laughing about it. Maybe this is what kicks her up to her chair.

>>38836010>spoilerwell I hope we can still get stuck into the action after getting it, I'm almost tempted to go for the slower options to make the quest last longer
>>38836042We should change our name from "Cinder" to "Blaze."
>>38836194Why? Cinders are remnants of a fire, or even slowburning. Maybe they'll start another fire. Blazes are great fires that will swallow up everything and make a lasting impression greater than the coals that are left behind.
>>38836247Its not our name, we give our name meaning.

>>38836446YAY, WE BE RETARDED!
>>38835560Long ago, you were refused the right to have your own weapon. From the very start you took matters into your own claws and tore what you desired from the galaxy. But your own two hands can only get you so far. Sometimes you need help, whether that help be a tool or a friend. You’re not so blinded by rage and pride like typical Khornates are to admit that. And it’s not like you have cultivated a strong set of subordinates. They should be able to handle your crusade in your absence. So, after taking everything into account, you offer, “Maybe it’s time then.”“Phrasing.”“Shut up Iggy. I mean it’s time for me to finally give Wormbag the biggest ‘Fuck you’ possible by creating and wielding a weapon he could only dream of seeing.”“THIS GUY SOUNDS LIKE A CLASS ACT. I WANNA MEET HIM.”You shoot Kharn a look that could kill a typical human stone dead. “Well you’re in luck. You’re going to go help him apply a little Brass and Blood to the Biofleet.”He pumps his fist in glee. “YES! I TOTALLY CALL DIBS ON A HIVE SHIP’S HEART.”“Hey if you can manage it without pissing off Sytili, by all means. But if and when she decides to eat your soul don’t come crying to me.”++What would you have me do, Warmistress?++You look him over appraisingly. “From what I understand you once almost led a Crusade by yourself long ago. I think it’s only appropriate that you’re given the opportunity to do so once more. Besides, I need only appear in the most important of battles. And with Ignitrix around I’m sure that won’t be a problem.” Your head swivels towards Ignitrix. “It won’t be a problem, right?”She bites her lip, then nods. “Yeah. I’ll make sure you’re where and when you’re absolutely needed.”“Excellent.” (cont)
>>38836182>>38836431I have a great idea! Cinder is boring, but people don't want to change it. So how about we just spruce it up a bit?Synnderr is a lot better, don't you think?
>>38836502That is fucking stupid. Cinder is fine.
>>38836498You clap your hands together and finalize your decision. From there the four of you discuss just the right amount of details that will let you and Ignitrix take the Engine off to find her Blue Writer things. The rest will use Helldrool’s and Kharn’s fleets to rejoin with the Biofleet. After that’s done, you’re left with Ignitrix alone at the card table. It was pretty tense.”“...”Her eyes narrow, then she says in the most deadpan manner possible, “That was, without a doubt, the worst joke that will ever be made in all of time. In fact I’m half tempted to go back in time, right now, and kill you to prevent it ever being uttered.”You blink twice, slowly, “Uhhh…”Then her features soften. “But I suppose it’s the thought it counts. For once it’s time.”“Is this another one of those special instances of time that I should never be involved with in some way? Because if it is we should probably go get the others back in here before…”She waves you off, wings drooping. “No it’s fine. This one you can be around for because I’ll need your help either way. The Blue Scribes are the number one target for every Tzeentchean daemon and sorcerer, including the Big Bird himself.”“Aren’t you the Big Bird though?”“I will get the sockpuppets. Don’t tempt me.”You sigh. “Alright so… what you’re saying is I should be looking forward to more battle barges being thrown at me?”Ignitrix smiles sweetly. “Among other things. But you’ll be fine. >>38837393Little did Iggy know that Cinder wishes to turn her into a daemon sockpuppet.
Has Iggy resolved the flagellating with those psyker sisters yet?
>>38837076There’s more than one way to skin a cat. Just like there’s more than one way to get a bird to sing. As such, you pick yourself up out of your chair, round on Iggy, and pick her up. For once she doesn’t protest.“Look,” she grumbles as she hangs loosely in your grip. “In doing this, I might stop being… me.”You don’t follow, communicating as much. She huffs and hits her head against your chest. “If and when I read the Blue Scribe’s book, I’ll know… everything.”“Humble, aren’t we?”“Hush. >>38837953Yeah no, friends don't lop off friends heads.
>>38837558“Something about how it won’t be you as a friend helping and instead more of Tzeentch interfering in Khornate matters?”She nods. “Yup. I guess I’m just worried too worried about what’s to come. It happens.”“It’s YET to happen,” you correct.“See, this is also why I’m not going to help you after ascending. You’re kind of a bitch, Cinder.”You return her tease with one of your own, “And yet you love me all the same.”Ignitrix replies by shrugging and making for the door. “I’ll get everything squared away. Seems you're meeting them all at once. Writing...
>>38838028Goodbyes, even temporary ones, aren’t fun. You’re much of the opinion that they should be as brief as possible. Less emotions and such that way. Still, you do need to at least let your closest subordinates know what’s going on in more detail. Especially since they’ll be the ones running the show while you’re gone. Some ten minutes later sees Sytili, Kaysis, and Acerea entering the conference room. They take up equidistant seats around the table and wait for you to speak.“So as you’ve probably heard,” you begin. “Iggy and I are going off to chase after some mystical bookkeepers or something.”Acerea nods, “She seemed awfully upset about it when she told us.”“Indeed,” chimes in Sytili. “Sssshe definitely wassss not her usssual sssself.”“Can you blame her though?” Kaysis questions. “She’s having to deal with her own mortality in a way. Or whatever the daemon or Tzeentch equivalent of mortality is.”You simply raise an eyebrow and let them continue to speak.“Maybe,” replies Acerea as she cups her right cheek. “Though it is rather satisfying to see her giving into inevitability.”“Try not to be too cheerful about it,” comments Sytili dryly. The Eldar exhales slowly. “In any case, I can understand where she’s coming from, in a way. But…” She turns to look at you. “I’m still not sold on why you’re doing this now. I guess it just feels… sudden?”The other two nod in agreement. You can understand why. “Trust me, I’d love nothing more than to be in every single glorious battle with you all. To drink the blood of our enemies fresh from the corpse as we watch them scurry for their lives. But…”(cont)
>>38838902“But you need to do this thing for Iggy,” finishes Acerea.“That and I think it’ll help us in the long run,” you reply. “The faster and harder we decimate the Imperium, the better. The longer conflict is drawn out, the more other races and factions will get involved. And the last thing we need is a stalemate.”Sytili tilts her head to the side, confused. “But isss not eternal conflict good for the Blood God?”“Oh it is. But in this instance, greater bloodshed can be achieved by taking the scorched earth approach.”“You have always been about the bigger picture,” remarks Acerea. “It’s why I decided to stick around, after all. You’ve been way more fun than the other Khornates I’ve tried to hang around.”“But thissss sssstill sssoundsss like a final goodbye. "Comrades, when have you ever known me to follow the rules or do what I've been told? I've grown to be best of friends with you, and there is nothing in the material plane or warp that could change that. Do you really think I'm not going to be back? This is the beginning of the very best and very biggest crusade that's ever going to happen, believe me I will be back to finish it and enjoy the spoils, but most importantly to enjoy hanging out with you again. I'll be back even if I have to claw my way through the warp inch by bloody inch."Any good? I'm rushed for time
>>38838926You shake your head firmly. “No. No it’s not. Short of Khorne himself smiting me I promise I’ll see you all again. Even if that means ripping apart the very boundaries of the materium to do so.”Sytili sniffs and comes over to sit in your lap wordlessly. You noogie the top of her head for good measure. As for Acerea and Kaysis, they look at one another and share a look of understanding.“Come on, you all will be fine. I’m not going to give you that pep talk, though.”“It wouldn’t be very Khornate of you to do so,” giggles Acerea.Kaysis sighs. “You daemons. You’re an enigma. I think I have you all figured out and then…” She trails off and shakes her head.“I’ll sssssave you a Grey Knight or two,” mumbles Sytili. “Ssstupid thingssss don’t tassste right anywaysss.” You try to break the somber mood with a jovial laugh. For the most part it seems to work. “I’ll hold you to that, Sytili. Especially since I never got around to living out my pipe dream of punching a Hive Ship to death.”The Tyranid chitters for a second then looks straight up into your eyes. “I will alsssso ssssee that you have one to rip apart then.”Acerea emits a soft “aw” which you pointedly ignore. >>38839911I think at this point if cinder was even possibly remotely going to think of that in this time line iggy would have fucked off already and or killed us. She is far more useful alive then dead to us, same for acerea , ssytili and kaysis, far too valuable alive now then dead.
>>38839911Yes, a galaxy under one deity, with all of its peoples engulfed in the flames of Khorne's glory. Endless bloodshed on every rock, not a single grain of sand left unsoaked. And once that galaxy has finally finished burning, we shall move on to the next one, and then the next one, and then the whole universe! Nothing will change or get in the way of that.
>>38839911How about you stop being fucking stupid and trying to play an entirely different character, its pretty clear you have no idea who or what Cinder is.
>>38839545“Thanks, Sytili. Now go collect some skulls for me, would you?”Sytili nods slowly and extracts herself from your lap. She takes one last look around, then filters out. Kaysis follows suit, but not before nodding respectfully at you. As for Acerea, the plaguebearer lingers just long enough to say one more thing:“Be a dear and tell Iggy I’m sorry, would you? Also that she should water her flower now and again.”“Huh?”Acerea lets out a soft hum. “She’ll know what I mean.”And then she leaves as well. ---The actual departure of the rest of the extended fleet passes relatively uneventfully. Well, aside from you having to extract Kharn from the middle of a Lictor nest. All said and done, though, you’re left with Ignitrix, her acolytes-turned-cultists, and a handful of Tyranids on the Engine. Sytili insisted on leaving at least one Synapse creature behind just in case. She even purposefully slaughtered the gaunts for biomass herself. It’s adorable, in a khornate sort of way.In any case the halls are much more empty than you remember. They never were all that busy to begin with but there’s a noticeable silence to them now. For the most part, you wander them aimlessly whenever you’re not practicing swordplay or what Wormbag taught you. You figure both will serve you well for what’s to come.Your ruminations are cut short one day by Ignitrix personally interrupting a holographic sparring session. You almost miss her stepping between you and your holographic self to stop the blades. “We’re here.”(cont)
>>38840037I don't think you have any idea of who Cinder is. She won't let anything get in the way of her obtaining complete and total victory. Even friends. You're forgetting that, in the end, she's Khornate. Anything denying her nature is an outright falsehood.
>>38840099“And where is here exactly?”The Lady of Change waves a hand and causes the simulation to shatter and reform. You’re left “floating” above a mobius-strip like planet floating around a black star. “I don’t know its name. All I know is this is where the Tyrant Star originates from. And that this is where the Blue Scribes will appear in two days.”“Plenty of time to prepare then, yeah?”Ignitrix shakes her head. “No. Already my fellows have begun converging. You can’t see them, but they’re there. Watching, waiting. As soon as someone tries to step foot on the ground all hell will break loose.”“Sooo what you’re saying is…”She poofs up before you can finish. “Not yet! I need to do one more thing before we even think about going down there. Well, two.”“And that would be…?”“The first is I need to go tinker with your favorite tank some more, if that’s okay. The second…”She trails off, prompting you to ask, “The second?”Her eyes lock onto yours and her mouth narrows to a fine line. “I need to make sure you’re ready. And the only way to do that is going to be unleashing an unfettered, full power psychic barrage at you.”> Pick one and only one> Uhhhh… What?> Hah ha! >>38840614Despite her instructions to the contrary, you actively prepare to be hit by an unknown spell. The fury of Khorne himself serves as your mental shield, while your daemonic hide handles the physical. Or they’re supposed to, anyways. All you know is - one moment you’re squared off against Ignitrix, then the next you’re surrounded by a blaze of blue warpfire. Instinctively you make to move out of the way, only to stop mid-motion. The flames are actively curving around you, like how they might behave around a blank or a pariah proper. You certainly still feel the heat but it’s not actively searing your skin. Of course, what you’re not prepared for is the chunk of metal that comes flying out of the maelstrom and smacks you across the solar plexus. So forceful is the impact that you’re forced to drop to one knee as your breath leaves you. “Well the BASICS seem to be fine,” comments Ignitrix as the fire disappears around you. She offers out a hand and helps you up. “But why didn’t you dodge?”“I didn’t think you’d actually hit me with something!” you retort. She shrugs. “You’re lucky my aim was off. It SHOULD have hit you in the head and stunned you. Besides, consider it practice. My brethren aren’t going to pull their punches, psychic or otherwise. We need to be able to either slaughter them all or secure the Scribes’ book and get out.”You grumble and rub where the metal hit you. SHUT UP YOU.”The next day or so consists of Ignitrix unleashing seemingly every hellish barrage and psychic trick in the book at you. For the most part it only takes you one smack across the face to get it right. Soon you’re able to recognize and weather all but one of her attacks. You had foreknowledge of some of the techniques through your Khornate heritage, of course, but that one in particular gets you.“I still think that’s bullshit,” you pout as you’re subjected to being headpatted by Ignitrix. “No other Lord of Change is going to try and headpat me. And if I didn’t know any better, you took some perverse glee in doing all this. Especially since you cheated and used my name.”“Oh I did,” admits Ignitrix. “But I blame some of that on you, after all.”“Well then you know what I’m going to do the moment you let me go, right?”“You imply I’m going to do so at all.”“...”She winks at you. “I’m kidding. Mostly. I’ll let the spell go once I’m out of reach and working on Shiela.”You growl impatiently at that. Being restrained is already aggravating. Psychically so through your true name? You’re all but bursting with rage. But, despite Ignitrix’s claim, the weight vanishes off of you after a few short moments.“I kid. Mostly. But now you know what you’re dealing with, yeah?”You nod. “And there’s how many daemons like you out there waiting to duke it out over this stupid book?”“Ehhh.... a hundred at least. All the important ones, anyways. But the good news is they don’t know what I know.”(cont)
>>38841748A grin creeps across your face. “That is a lot of skulls worthy of presenting to… wait…”Ignitrix laughs as you think that one over. “You do that. I’m going to see about turning Shiela into a daemon engine proper. Shouldn’t be all that hard. Oh! but before I go…” She pauses, motioning at the hanging hologram of the system outside. “Would you prefer to go the slaughter route or the hit and run route?”Stretching, you reply…> In and out> BLOOD FOR THE BL- You know what, I just want the skulls.> You decide birdbrainTry not to misread the true name thing.

I let it happen in comedic fashion (much like how Ignitrix did at the Opera) and we handwave the whole "Punch 100+ bird daemons in the face" thing. Option B: I stick to my guns and have you go through an unnecessarily complicated bird daemon fight in an attempt to actually wound Cinder without cheating while actually cheating.Hm.>>38842084 has a good point and yet they don't. Khorne's blessed plenty of dice rolls surrounding warp dickery thus far.I'll think on it while I heat up some food. Back in like 5-10min
>>38842084Or he is amused by tricking a bunch of daemons without using warp fuckery
>>38842059Everyone's ignoring my plan, it will be most effective, hahahahaha!
>>38842113I reallllllly want to punch some demons in the face but... this is just too good to pass up, option A sounds like it will be more fun for cinder then eldrad had fucking over every one ever. I imagine iggy will just be slack jawed at this, or behind it either way its gonna he hilarious. DO IT!
>>38842113I say you mix options A and B, have us start the fight and go through some of the unnecessarily complicated bird daemon fight and then have the 8 and 2 pop their heads in.
>>38842127I'd rather not have Tigurious anywhere near us with something this high stakes.>>38842172That sounds decent, so its more "punch 50+ bird daemons in the face before comedy and hilarity ensue"
>>38842195>I'd rather not have Tigurious anywhere near us with something this high stakes.Sounds like a worm's figured out how to speak? Burrow into the earth where the birds can't get you, you coward.
>>38842195>"punch 50+ bird daemons in the face before comedy and hilarity ensue"It's gonna be pretty funny when nothing happens
On one hand, I have a deliciously ironic and (hopefully) hilarious way to pull off Option A that will wrap up Iggy's story and send us into Build-A-Weapon-Workshop. On the other, I realize I'm already rushing things along as it is and that not everyone is going to be a fan of what might be a "cop-out macguffin." Alternatively, a mixture of both may be the best option, but I'm in no state to do that justice tonight.SOOOOOO let's put it up to player vote:> Option A> Option B> Mix A & BI'll let that go for... 15-20 minutes? But otherwise I'd say we're probably going to call it a night here and start next session with whatever the end result of the vote is.
Hey, maybe we could get Tigurius' entire being transplanted into a helmet we could wear, and kill things and be immune to warpfuckery in our head?
>>38842303> Mix A & B
>>38842303> Mix A & BThis is a good place to stop for the night anyways.
>>38842303> Mix A & BI don't mind it not happening right away, I can wait.
>>38842303>> Mix A & BLet's have some fun action beating up birdbrains and getting our Khornate on before Just As Planned shows its head. Thanks for running ELH, fun as always.
>>38842303Can we end this with showing her our drawing?
>>38842303>> Option B
>>38842303> Option AWill this make the Necron and Eldar Battle that much more epic, what with it getting more time?
>>38842303we could set up a&b for tomorrow then, I dont want a fast cop out but DAMN if the dice didnt just tell us "fucking do it, its cinder quest you HAVE to do something lolcrazy" I am fine with stoping for now while you write up a grand end for the bestbird.
>>38842303>On one hand, I have a deliciously ironic and (hopefully) hilarious way to pull off Option A that will wrap up Iggy's storyIs such an ironic and ingenious method of besting all the opposition not the best way to send off Iggy?
>>38842392Tomorrow is no good for me. I *might* be able to do Sunday Morning/Afternoon EST sometime but otherwise we're looking at Tuesday Evening for the next session.>>38842412Pure A is a new level of dickery. Creed would look at this and sensibly chuckle about how ironic and anti-climatic it is. And then he'd pull out the entire Blood Raven fleet from behind a rock and still wonder how to top what I'd do to Iggy.
>>38842503>The general who wins the battle makes many calculations in his temple before the battle is fought. The general who loses makes but few calculations beforehand.>Victorious warriors win first and then go to war, while defeated warriors go to war first and then seek to win.>The best victory is when the opponent surrenders of its own accord before there are any actual hostilities... It is best to win without fighting.>Speed is the essence of war. Take advantage of the enemy's unpreparedness; travel by unexpected routes and strike him where he has taken no precautions.>There is no instance of a nation benefitting from prolonged warfare.>Swift as the wind. Quiet as the forest. Conquer like the fire. Steady as the mountain.
>>38842568>There is no instance of a nation benefiting from prolonged warfare.Which is funny coming from Khorne (using the in-quest book) but also makes sense.
>>38842595It applies to the other guy too. If you can prolong war longer than the other guy can that leads to victory. And lots of blood spilled. Just don't be thinking you'll come out of it healthy and well supplied.
Guess we're going off half-cocked next session. Neat.In the meantime, start thinking about what weapon you want Cinder to have. Standard sword? Actual claws again? Polearm/spear? A bucket? Otherwise I'll just pick something that will be appropriately flashy and Khorney
>>38842945Request: Can I steal Iggy and refluff (repoof?) her as a villain? I really like her, as I am a damn sucker for temporal bullshit.
>>38843100Also, full silly route: Psychic warpfirestorm blade the size of a battle barge. Deals psychic and physical damage because we are friends with Tzeench 2.0 and the rules clearly don't apply to us. Who the hell do you think we are!?
>>38842303 Much, much easier to swap the book for a tome of khorne while they're distracted with "trying not to die"...
>>38842945I'm partial to a longsword or kopis.
>>38843170some kind of warpy sword that changed shapes between ancient sword designs each time we use it would be cool, add some challenge and variety to thingsone day we pick it up and its a gladius, the next day we try to sunder a world in two and its a rapier or xiphos
>>38843176>Fighting Tzeenchians>Getting fucked up>Despair>Roll a 1"I DO COCAAAAAAAAAAAAINE!">Doomrider out of fucking nowhere!>Zantetsuken!>Slides to a stop in front of Cinder, leaving skidmarks on the air itself>Leans in slowly>Whispers"I do cocaaaaaaaaine...">Throws Iggy over the back of his bike>Screeches off into the sun and explodes
>>38843201Could be neat. The variety of styles could keep it fresh.
>>38843231>roll for what percent of our body is cocaine>93% COCAINE
>>38843201That would be cool, and maybe an axe version, or we could have a sword which changes into different sword forms, and another which changes between polearms, axes and other non-sword weapons.
>>38843100I've always been open to people taking and reusing characters/etc so long as they're not being super malicious about it. I'll probably talk about that more later at some point.
Rolled 5225 (1d10000)>>38843245
>>38842945Two cross-pikes! Eight blades, and you even get to impale heads on them! Combine them together and you get the eight-pointed star!
>>38843255Thank you. I'll change the name and appearance, but keep a lot of the character. By the by, I'm the dumbass from your Ask.fm who needed the sock puppets to stop being retarded, and I wanted to say a couple things. One, you're awesome and so is the quest. About the only thing I have to say about the quest negatively is what you already said: Pacing, my man. If/when you run another (and trust me, you should, because you have a talent), please keep that in mind. Two, your characters and writing are great. I suppose that's it, really. Just wanted you to know that you're doing good, and I'll miss this when it's done.
>>38843308Pacing is something I know is all over the place. But again, I'm holding off on that discussion (or rather why it is) until later. Thanks for the feedback, glad you enjoy(ed)!
>>38843389Fair enough, man. I just wanted to give credit where it's due. Also, take a shot.
>>38842945Claw gauntlets with integrated bolters. Because awesome.
>>38843389You know that time I said you could handle writing events that were outside of your plans? I didn't mean that. You're great at improvisation, and you always lead us somewhere entertaining.
>>38843581>couldn't handle*I needs some sleep bad
>>38842945I was thinking a giant skull on a stick. The skull would have fire inside it that would pour out from the eyes&mouth. The entire thing would look like it's covered in Khornate carvings, but if you look closely then you'll see that the "carvings" are actually chain blades somehow embedded in the thing so that if you get crushed by it it will also cut and grind.
>>38843674Skull-motif scythe made of bone and brass, with a blade of flaming blood.
>>38843712Eh nah, scythe's are nurgle's thing, I much prefer >>38843201 & >>38843246
I personally like the thought of making a big metal arm that would make Iggy ask us if we seriously want a fucking backscratcher, to which we will reply that arms are the truest weapons.
