"What happened?" -Eldric was sitting in Lazard's bed while the young elf sat on a chair in front of him and they shared some tea

Of course, as a young student at the magical university, Lazard's room was not a bad one. Nevertheless, it was still only a student's room.

It reminded Eldric of his days in college, back in his previous life. Being a student is suffering for most people. Staying all night, eating frugally, barely making a living while your teachers assume you have no worries at all and nothing better to do than homework and prepare for exams!

The realities of university life seemed to be the same across many worlds.

"The baron made a comment about his expectations for the future, and I disagreed with him. Of course, as the princesses fianceé, it was perfectly reasonable, but...." -said the young elf
"What was?" -Eldric looked at his bruises while sipping the tea
"Well, he mentioned about his ..uhmm... bedroom expectations" -it was obvious that the elf was trying to be as delicate as possible.

Lazard was the princesses' childhood friend. He probably wouldn't have gotten upset over something like their fianceé simply saying he wanted a large family.

Still, looking at the young eld, he looked more like a elven warrior from a mural than a delicate caster. Broad (for an elf) shoulders, a tall figure, and calloused hands. Also, there was a greatsword just barely visible behind the bed. It looked well used and worn, old, even.

Of course, these were tiny little details that someone without Eldric's immense mental stats would not have been able to see. Truly, he was grateful for how in this world, effort and hard work really paid off.

He was able to raise a number of stats through his adventures, and both training and studying had a visible, real effect that he could see as a numerical value on his character sheet info screen.

As a former inhabitant of Earth, he had to study and work hard for no visible, tangible gain. It was hard work which the inhabitants of Eiren could not conceive.

Here, however, 1000 push ups, 1000 crouches and 10km running every single day not only kept you healthy, they would visibly raise your stats.

For a former fa/t g/uy, moreover, rising your character's stats in a game was a joy. How much more joyous it was when you knew these were YOUR own stats?

Of course, most people here were unable to see their own character sheets, but even so, "hard work pays off" is not just a pretty line to them. It was reality as obvious as gravity or the sun.

ah, yesterday i left a message on twitter explaining that I spent all day in the hospital and was too tired when i got home. There were also some unusual circumstances that, honestly, sound unbelievable to me, and I fucking lived them.

That does sound unbelievable, the funny thing is most people don't know that Portuguese is a language that exists outside Portugal. Its funny, for myself I live in western Canada. There are a differences between us and Americans, and even other areas of Canada, but its easier when traveling or online to just run with peoples assumptions that I'm american. Eldric helps Lazard by distributing his bonus points into Intelligence and Wisdom. It may seem arbitrary, but you need to remember that in this world, you would normally need to be a scion in order to see your character sheet, so normal people never assign them anywhere.

Better to use them than to leave them untouched forever.

"Lazard, look..." -Eldric starts talking with him.

A few hours later, Lazard is nodding as he agrees, coming out from the eastern dungeon with Eldric, Lyann and some of the honey faeries.

"I thank you for your advice. I will train myself diligently" -he says with a smile.

Of course, he's beaten, bloody, black, blue and purple since he was a low level wizard when we took him into the dungeons, and with our frantic rushing forth, he mostly healed by leveling up only.

Still, he looks like he is being completely honest. He really is grateful for your help.

From that day forth, he started going into the dungeons with the Honey Faeries, leveling his wizard and warrior jobs first, then continuing with the others, following Eldric's advice.

Aritsu is happily sewing a colorful red and white bag. In a certain other world, it would look like a christmas ornament, but here it was going to be used in an election.

It was a fluffy, soft bag that looked like a cherry, with two fluffy green leaves.

The princess liked sewing and making dolls, so while making this bag was definitively a luxury for such a simple purpose, she was happy to do so.

Her room was across the hall from her sister's. It was a regular stident room, but the furniture had been decorated and covered with soft-colored cloth full of frills and girly touches.

It was without a doubt, a very girly room. And yet, her desk was a completely serious work place.

Each student had a desk of the type you can close with a wooden courtain and then lock, but hers was so covered in books that there was no way it could ever close. It was not, however, a mess.

It was instead an obviously, ridiculously busy corner of the room, to the point where you could just feel her sitting there, as if her aura belonged to that area.

Honestly, making the bag was a short break from work.

Normally, the girls formitory is closed to male visitors, but since Eldric was coming with another female, and it was still quite early in the evening, it was deemed appropiate as long as basic rules of modesty were followed, such as keeping the door open during the lenght of the visit.

Aritsu offers her bed for Lyann to sit in, and brings her desk's chair for Eldric, then she herself sits on the bed next to the redhead.

From talking with her, it actually emerges that she's specializing in weapon-boosting enchantments as of next year. These are powerful buffs that only last for a few minutes at a time, or half an hour, at most.

Of course, for Eldric, who is used to RPG games, this sounds rather familiar. It is a but unexpected in a world where most things run like they do in old JRPGs, however.

"Right now, I can change the materials of weapons for a few minutes, in order to exploit the particular weaknesses of enemies. If I manage to master this, I should be able to affect the weapons of enemies, weakening them greatly" -she explains
"What about monsters that do not use weapons?"
"Well, I can still boost those of allies, or simply attack with offensive spells"

Lyann enjoys the cookies Aritsu brings forth to go with the tea, then asks something else.

"How many people can you affect?"
"None, I target weapons. I can enhance up to thirty weapons"

It was like this, that Eldric approached Miel outside of the main hive.

That may sound impressive, but the fact is that it was the same size as any other hive. It was politically important as the center of the Hegemony, but it wasn't placed in a particularly convenient spot.

It wasn't at a crossroads, or a river's end, nor geographically in the middle of the "underground" bee empire.

It was a rather large, very beautiful xastle-like structure in Eldric's garden. More precisely, inside his greenhouse.

"..and that's why I'd like to request troops from you, to explore the eastern grasslands. There is a chance that it is an [ERROR] in which case the troops should just fly away and retreat." -he explained the tiny queen

He was sitting in the floor of the greenhouse, so his head was at the same level as the queen while she stoof at the entrance of hey golden palace.

"I see... currently we have 5 archdruids. Keeping one in reserve for emergencies, should we make 4 parties built around them and send them out? that way, they could quickly come back if they found something"

"e-EEeeek!" -the Bee Queen lets out a little cry as she crouches down.

We leave Miel's side and run into the house.

Of course, Zoe and mom are taking care of Ellie, and dad ran out to get a matron.

At times like these, we really miss the old world and its modern features, such as hospitals.

Of course, mom is both a healer and a wizard, and Zoe's main job is healer, so there's very little to worry about, but we can't help but worry, all the same.

After a little over half an hour has passed, dad comes back with the matron.

Thankfully, elven births seem to be gentle and relatively easy businesses, and since she is giving birth to another elf rather than a human, even more so.

Soon, the cry of our newest baby brother comes out softly, and as we come in, we find Ellie holding it softly on the bed while Linda holds her shoulder and Cedric doesn't knows what to do to keep himself from exploding from happiness.

Dad can be such a simple guy some times, but he may as well be made of gold.

"Eldric, come meet your baby brother" -says mom
"Ah, yes!" -Eldric approaches the bed side-
"Young master, do you want to hold him?" -asks Ellie as Eldric stands there with a stunned expression

Arlon feels truly tiny. Of course, all newborn babies are tiny, but a elven child is even more so.

It looks quite peaceful as it softly moves its arms and legs while Eldric holds him. His eyes are closed, but he's clearly awake.
