"Find me intelligence on the rest of the Golden Weapons."You take a deep breath here before continuing, staring at each doll in turn. Feeling suddenly like a teacher trying to get her lecture across to a class of temporarily-pacified but eternally-hyperactive children. Or maybe a preacher, trying to sermon to a temporarily-sedated bunch of death row inmates and serial killers....Doesn't seem to be a difference there, but you forge on ahead anyway, directly addressing your captive audience."I want this to be clear: just gather intelligence about them. Don't try to steal them, don't kill or torture anyone for them - don't touch them, period. Just try and find out as much as you can about them - where they are, who has them in their possession, and if their owners are sane enough to be talked into handing them over." You're not too sure about the last one yourself - every other Golden Weapon owner you've come across, other than Kharn, had proven much too attached to their new toy to let go of it voluntarily and without violence. ...Granted, you've only encountered three of them, but with the Golden Weapons' effect on their users, it's a reasonable enough assumption to make based on that small sample size.
>>38720194"...You, ah, wish for us to try and find the myriad fragments of the Blessed Lady's soul, good-for-nothing?" MIE, one of the more fashionable-looking dolls, with a black poncho over a prim white dress a black pencil skirt, asks after a rather long moment of silence. "This is what your dark, corrupted heart truly wishes for? This is the core of your sadistic, twisted and perverted desires rooted in heresy?"What...? You blink down at the doll, frowning. That's...what?"Mie is asking if you're sure, good-for-nothing," IBARI speaks up, seemingly taking it upon herself to be your interpreter between normal talk and crazy fucking insane doll talk. "Because, well, the fragments of the Blessed Lady's soul are--""They are anathema to our very existence!" MIE chirped, smiling disturbingly wide."...Yes, that." IBARI finished, nodding. "We don't really deal well with them, good-for-nothing. Anything else, we can easily shrug off or regenerate from, but for anything made of the purest soul imaginable..." She shakes her head, a resigned smile on her porcelain face. "Well, let's just say you will have to deal with us being more of an incomplete set than we already are, good-for-nothing." A moment passes, and IBARI quickly looks up, suddenly worried. "...Er. Not that anything's wrong with that, of course. We are your loyal servants, after all. We live to serve your uselessness, good-for-nothing, and do so at your own pleasure."It seems that the dolls are asking you if you're sure of your decision, seeing as you may be sending them on a very dangerous mission. How do you respond?I'm sure. You'll only be gathering intelligence on them, anyway. If they find you out, withdraw immediately and report back to me. That goes for all of you....Maybe not. Let me think about it a bit more.Ask a bit more about how vulnerable they actually are to the Golden Weapons first before making your decision.

>>38720406Homuhomu has severe tunnel vision and is pretty retarded. Not like it could have lasted long.Plus that would have lost us our waifus.

Hi! A bit late since I'm otherwise occupied, but here's the current progress on the Midori doll. We have: Bunny GirlMaouAtagoFilia School Uniform Miracle MidoriI'll be out for two weeks, but we'll get one more costume when we come back to wrap up Set 1. Once Set 1 is finished, I'll go about remaking the Chiaki doll.
>>38720445This is our final lap around the track, guys. No time for anybody, if we do this wrong. Just how vulnerable are they to the fucking things, anyway? Do they burst into treats when they look at one directly, or something? There's a moment of hesitation as your Dolls glance at each other, before IBARI speaks up. "Well, I suppose that's not that far off from the truth, good-for-nothing. ...Not the bursting into treats part, but the part where even just the proximity of them affects us in such a way that makes us helpless and vulnerable." Another shake of her head, tousling her disturbingly-realistic hair. "Like...like with vampires. Vampires, yes? They're known for recoiling from religious paraphernalia and iconography? Crosses and rosaries, that kind of thing? That's how it is with us."You nod. ...Yeah, you get it now. And if just being in the presence of a Golden Weapon can affect them like that, how bad would it be if they got hit with them...?"We die," REIKETSU looks up from something that vaguely resembles a clamshell gaming device, its screen glow lighting up her features, turning her features even more surreal than they already were. Her voice a stark monotone, in contrast to IBARI's almost human speaking voice and MIE's lilting one. "And we don't come back. Simple as that.""We believe it is the hatred towards you, good-for-nothing, that exists within the half of the soul that they were made from. That hatred makes them extremely effective in killing us." IBARI explains. "But I suppose if it's only information you wish, good-for-nothing, then we'll probably be okay. Worst comes to worst, you lose a few of us, but that hardly matters in the long run for you, I think."[1/2]
>>38720856Hnh. So they're pretty much fucked if they get hit, but they seem confident that they'll be alright. ...Or, if you're honest, it's more that they're resigned to that kind of inevitability if it does happen. How do you react?Go along with your original idea as planned, but emphasize that they need to be careful.Change your mind about the command. You've only spent a few minutes talking to them and already you're forming an attachment to these things? For fuck's sake, did you not get dolls to play with when you were younger or something? Or did you suddenly forget that they were in that dream of yours, with one of them tearing Midori apart just for kicks?...Anyway. You tell the dolls about your decision, and even with their porcelain faces, you could tell that they're...relieved, somehow. A collective unclenching rippling through them, as if they'd been bracing for bad news that you decided not to give. "W-well, if you're sure, good-for-nothing!" OBARI smiles. "If you ever change your mind or think of a command to give us, please don't hesitate to summon us to your side, we will always be on your beck and call until then! You blink at this, and make to ask her what she's looking at - but you also find yourself stopping as you realize that your entire collection is looking the same way. ...Fucking Christ, some of them are doing that thing in that scary Western movie about a girl getting possessed by Satan! Their fucking heads turning a complete 180 fucking degrees!"...The Mutant Cat Bastard is here," OBARI turns to look at you, her voice tinged with an urgent horror. Proving that he is, indeed, just behind those doors, about to enter."Matsuda? I am here for your debriefing." His voice is level and emotionless as always - except for the slightest bit off coldness you couldn't miss. "Give us the word, and we shall dine upon his immortal soul with graham crackers and hazelnut spread!""Remove Incubator!" The other dolls start to chant. LET HIM IN BUT HIDE
>>38721728Well of course. Chiaki has a soft heart for soft butts.
>>38721728I we were the way we are now, there is probably no way we would have blown Midori"s knee caps off like we did so long ago.
>>38721728Softness begets softness.Only by becoming one with the soft, one can reach for the softest butts.
>>38721761Chiaki adopted the softness. We were born to it. Molded by it. We did not see edges until we were already men.
>>38721728Soft head, more like. But then, Braids always did. It was the inevitability of existence that hardened her heart. Which Chiaki doesn't have, because no active memory of all of the people she was unable to save.
>>38721631>[X]...Let him in. You want to hear what he has to say before doing anything rash, first.we can get some good information from what he is going to say or chose to omit
>>38721777"we" are Chiaki. And Homura original version was so soft, she lived ten thousand months, walked ten thousand miles and died ten thousand times for a girl who smiled at her once. We actually *were* born soft and didn't see edges until we lost all we loved over and over again.
>>38721717We really need a Kyuubey special episode soon.>Okay, mission to Hell going good so far, time for a nap>Midori speaks up a few hours later about the end of the mission>Half the party teleports in, they look like shit and are missing one, pretty normal so far>Where's the warmaster?>"She's still down there.">yo what the fuck>Your last Culexus dies in front of you>YOOOOOO>Then the Warmaster teleports back in a pantyless dress with demon wings>YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO>Then a bunch of hell dolls appear in the Warmaster's holding cell and they start talking>YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
>>38721631>>[X]...Let him in. You want to hear what he has to say before doing anything rash, first. Then>>[X]Tell the dolls to put the boots to him, medium style. Rough him up without hurting him permanently.Because, seriously, it's Kyubey. He deserves some abuse.
>>38721728It's not being soft, it's preserving a potential asset. Assuming Cubes doesn't execute us here and now we'll still have lots of shit to do and it doesn't make sense to throw away a valuable tool on intelligence that we can acquire elsewhere.
>>38721631[x]...Let him in. You want to hear what he has to say before doing anything rash, first.
>>38721728I blame the Midori waifufags. They ruined her character.
>>38721811>IT WAS THREEEEEEEEEEEEEE>THREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEKyuubey, what are you talking about? The Third has been gone for a while.
>>38721811>I really need to cut on my catnip habit.
>>38721820Irrespective of personal feelings, Kyubes needs a hoofing. If he's going to be a valuable asset, he needs plausible deniability with the other Incubators
>>38721846>threeactually twelve (actually eleven)
>>38721832In b4 Midori is the cause of Chiaki's death. I am calling it right now. That said, I'm going to enjoy the ride while we get to that point.
>>38721631>Coobie's been nothing but a bro since the beginning of the quest>Dolls appear once before and kill our waifu>Coobie understandably freaks out once but rather than doing something extreme he locks us away in containment while he figures out what to do>WE CAN'T LET THE DOLLS GET HURT>FUCKING INCUBATOR'S ALWAYS FUCKING WITH USPoor Coobles.
>>38721728It's not like this is something new. We've always known that she is a big softie, considering how much she treasures and spoils Misaka.
>>38721811>SHE'S LIKE SUCCUBUS, REMEMBER WHAT I'M SAYING TO YOU NIGGAS>now resume the harem waifujerk
>>38721887The majority said to not kill at him and let him in. So no, we arent attacking him for no reason.
>>38721860I was talking about the dolls, not Kyuubey. And if we're going to take that route (working "independently" but still working with the Ninth) then we need to have an understanding with our Incubator before we beat the shit out of him for plausible deniability. Affable as he is I don't think he would take kindly to just inexplicably getting his shit pushed in by a bunch of dolls.
>>38721915But we're still trusting dolls, which Chiaki has absolutely no reason to trust. This is some OOC as fuck behavior.
>>38721915Reading the attitude, not the votes.he got a little triggered is all
>>38721928Chiaki basically trusts everyone unconditionally. Except idols.
>>38721928Decu mentioned a long time ago that all of his prompts are purposefully written to be IC for Chiaki. Stop whining.
>>38721717>>38721811>Then the Warmaster teleports back in a pantyless dress with demon wings>Your last warmaster hat IRON CLAWS and BLADED LEGS>Your new warmaster suddenly showing up with wings and wearing a slutty cocktail-dress is somehow more of a problem>mfw
>>38721928>I had a bad dream so i probably shouldnt trust these dolls and be a bully to them for no real reason, up to and including making one of them cry.I get your lack of trust but so far they have done nothing but be friendly. And no the dream doesnt count either.
>>38721958It's entirely possible that Kharn underwent similar treatment when she first showed up as a Maeorus. There's also the fact that Kharn had Malal vouching for her.
>>38721887See >>38721958 ya stupid catAlso>QB>A bro>Just because he doesn't go WELL YOU DIDNT ASK
>>38721958>>38721978Also I think she became warmaster after the maeorus incident, so coobs knew what he was dealing with when it made her warmaster.
>>38721961Well, our first encounter with Wendy was also killing each other in a dream, and she turned out alright... so I'm willing to give it a shot.
>>38721940Let us warp back to the very start>the only reason why we didn't blow out Midori's brains in the Iori protection mission was because she didn't outright kill us>Default diplomatic action is "shoot their kneecaps">only people we trust is Mami, Kyoko, Sayaka (not at all actually), Misaka and a bottle of KongNow:>always try to talk it out first>didn't have a swig of whiskey or painkillers for a week>dildo extreme>trust even the person that allowed sending you what looks like the decapitated head of MamiTalk about character development.
>>38721958You realize he never actually ordered anyone to kill us or hurt us, right? He just told us to sit in the silent room until shit gets sorted out. God damn. People are acting like this is some huge betrayal.
>>38721958Kharn didn't just randomly acquire demonic properties and body parts directly after coming back from fucking Hell. She got captured while training as an Eversor, got a shitty procedure done on her and got rescued by Malal. I think the body changes only manifested in her transformed form for a while, they only gradually started bleeding into her normal form.
>>38722018It's kinda a betrayal. It's understandable and spected for him to do what he did, but it dosen't feel right.
>>38722013Well, we had a haircut in the meanwhile.
>>38722012Not like Chiaki ever held the mutual killing thing against Wendy either.
>>38722018I know right? I seems stupid to me. I guess ppl are on edge with the whole "The Death of Chiaki Matsuda" thing but seriously we have spent far too much time into working on this shit for Coobs to just off us right now, especially when we havent been disloyal at all to him.
>>38722018But anon, the creepy dolls that we have literally no reason to believe or trust said he was coming to kill us! Are you insinuating they may not be telling us the complete, unfiltered truth?Because that sounds like crazy talk.
>>38721940Nope.The dolls urging that we kill Kyubes? That's the deeply seated - and hardly entirely unreasonable - paranoia we have over incubators
>>38722051>we havent been disloyal at all to him.Forgot the part where we repeatedly shot his fucking head off a long time ago.
>>38722042It's not betrayal it's a standard procedure. If a guy in my office started spouting body parts he didn't have before I'd have him quarantined even if he swears it's really okay.
>>38722071In the quest we havent, our time as Murderface is out of our hands.
>>38722071We knew it was unimportant to him and helped us relive stress. It's not unloyal at all.
>>38722042>tells us to sit quietly for like an hour>betrayalYou must have a very strained relation ship with your parents. And your boss. And absolutely any authority figure.
>>38722071That's literally a minor inconvenience for a coobs. It actually harmed more our relationship with Sayaka than with him.
>>38722082I don't think this situation is standar at all, but I agree with you, and that's what I was trying to say. It was uncool, but necesary.
>>38722013... Come to think of it, that's maybe what "The Death of Chiaki Matsuda" means.>before this timeline: Akemi Homura>before short hair and going around everywhere with Kharn: Girl A>after Kharn took us up: Murderface>since the start of the quest AKA random morning somewhen: Chiaki Matsuda>since merging with The Transcendent One: The Angel Slayer Reborn, the Shieldmaiden of the Blessed Lady."The Death of Chiaki Matsuda" may mean the death of a character - the personality, the body, the soul. We don't exist as Chiaki Matsuda anymore, we exist as another incarnation of Akemi Homura with a different personality.
>>38722100Hell, blowing his head off repeatedly ended up getting us promoted. Maybe attempted murder is like a sign of respect and affection in Incubator land.
>>38722013Just like Decu at work, we have became the greatest Dildo in the history of Dildoes.I still cant wait until Chiaki finally catches on what a Dildo is.
>everyone voting not to use dollsBloody madoka. They're probably the only things Chiaki CAN use without feeling guilty, they're literally parts of Chiaki. And she hates herself.
>>38722103I'm not one of the most valued assets of my parents, don't have a boss and get along fairly well with authority figures. When writing that ost I was speaking what I tought Chiaki would fell, given that SHE HAS a strained relationship with her boss.
>People are seriously complaining about actual character development of the MC
>>38722172>>38722129You didn't figure that out within 5 minutes of hearing the name "The Death of Chiaki Matsuda"?
>>38722093Actually, we did shoot Kyuubei at least once during the quest.
>>38722195are you surprised
>>38722195Welcome to MGNQ threads. Enjoy your stay.
>>38722200I did, but it's clear the rest of the fucking thread sure didn't.
>>38722195>Literally just does what anyone tells her>Hesitates on any decision when there's a chance to back out>Character developmentI agree that Chiaki has definitely developed and a lot of it has been for the better, but calling all of it character development...Well, I guess it IS development but they aren't really desirable traits, and it's understandable for people to be frustrated or annoyed with them.
>>38722195I'm not complaining about character development. I'm complaining about character development that includes outright pussification of the MC. She's turned to the worse, and not in the interesting way. While the traits she had before were fairly understandable and interesting (alcoholism, brutality, all that pain is pretty normal when you jump around trying to save one slut for a thousand years), the sudden jump to being a pussy that believes everyone's word and actually fucks some dumb slut she found one day is not as explainable, and in my opinion it's even worse for the story.
>>38722238>regaining humanity and life isn't character developmentNeed I remind you that original Chiaki was one skipped painkiller away from suicide, and nobody would have really cared?
>>38722326Did you even read the post or did you just get mad
>>38722238Wow. You call being reasonable, listening to what people have to say and not antagonizing your boss, who has been, if not pleasant Then at least reasonable in his orders undesirable traits? You actually consider being a murderhobo who shoots kneecaps first, asks questions later a good thing?
>>38722342I did read the post, and it was dumb.
>>38722238>she has developed for the better>but it's not really character development if I don't like itnigga what the fuck are you even saying
>>38722326>regaining humanityI don't think that's really a good thing. In the first place, Chiaki is a magical girl; born killing machines, less humanity would always do them better. Homuhom also lost her humanity because she was doing her best trying to (unintentionally) save all of humanity and Madoka from her fate. There's no reason why she would become more humane without actually saving Madoka.
>>38722298>I'm not complaining about character development. I'm complaining about character development
>>38722358>>38722345>>38722374I'm calling doing stupid shit like handing over our soul gem to an enemy stupid shit, like listening to people that openly want to kill us instead of fighting them stupid shit, I'm saying waffling every choice we try to make because there's an option to back out is stupid shit.Chiaki's humanity and regaining it is great but it seems to have come at the cost of our spine, because people mistake 'not being a murderhobo' with 'being a complete and utter indecisive pushover in 90% of situations'.The post was unclear and that's my bad, though.
>>38721631>"Remove Incubator!" The other dolls start to chant. "Remove incubator, REMOVE INCUBATOR!"w o w
>>38722459>listening to people that openly want to kill usThe only evidence we have of that is the say so of a bunch of freaky killer dolls who may or may not be hallucinations.
>>38722507oh hush you love it
>>38722508Not the guy you're replying to, but it's pretty obvious he was talking about Lucius/Ahriman and not QB in the part you quoted.
>>38722508What?Did you miss out the whole "negotiation" with Oriko? She outright said she only wants to murder us. While diplomacy with her was reasonable, handing over our own soul gem was BEYOND ALL RETARDATION, both IC and OOC.
>>38722518I did that thing where you try to suck your lips into your mouth to stop yourself from laughing too loud but it just comes out as a kind of squeee which is even worse somehow
>>38722548I still don't know why people voted to do that.
>>38722585Character development: It's automatically good if the mc changes in some way, regardless of what that change actually us.
>>38722548Look i will give you that shit like handing our soul gem to Oriko or GET FUCK or GRAB THE SWORD were fucking utterly retarded ideas, but in there own way they were character growth. Maybe not GOOD character growth mind but character growth nonetheless.
>>38722585I don't know who to blame. Probably the retarded weeb neckbeards who come sans charge with any anime-related quest on /tg/. They're like the "uses only katanas because it's the best metal" kid kind of That Guy, except worse.
>>38722585Push the Shiny Button./tg/ always pushes the button.
>>38722508I am pretty sure the Clara dolls are not hallucinations. But either way, don´t thrust me much on this: I have lost the thread discussion since 50 posts or so
>>38722619>look it's dumb but it's character development but dumbGee willickers, I have no idea how you figured that out!Yes, any character development actually IS character development, whether it is good or bad. We established that thirty fucking posts ago. You may not realize, but "flow of time" is also flow of time, whether it goes forward or backwards, and an absolute value is positive whether the |original value| is positive or negative.Jesus.
>>38722637No, we all ways keep missing it and hitting the Self-Destruct Button due to waffling

>>38722585As a person who voted for giving our Soul gem to Oriko, I am going to defend my decision. Yes, I knew it was dangerous, but in that moment, Oriko appeared like someone who knew more of the global plot that Chiaki is missing, so I thought that we needed to give it a try to discover "secrets" of the plot that we weren´t going to discover by any other way. Now, you my authorization to call me a retard
>>38722613Wow. Now you are just being salty because anons called you out earlier on your retardation.

>>38722727>As a person who voted for giving our Soul gem to Oriko, I am going to defendNo, you are a retard. But pretty much everyone in here already knew that. Aside from Decu, Hatchan and the damn Cat every Namefag is known to vote like a goddamn retard. You are the reason user manuals for blenders have it spelled out that you should not put your hand inside while the blades are rotating. This is the level stupid you operate on.
>>38722751>A weapon to surpass Shiny ButtonYou don't mean...
>>38722613>Character development: It's automatically good if the mc changes in some way, regardless of what that change actually us.How a character devolves is usually even more interesting than how they evolve. A dynamic character is almost always a good thing in fiction - that dynamism doesn't necessarily need to be positive - or even negative. Some of the best works of fiction have characters that change over their course, but not in a way you could call an improvement or a deprecation - they simply emerge... different.

>>38721647 >>38721649 >>38721650 >>38721656You shake your head, here. No, you want to hear what he has to say first. Kyuubey wouldn't suddenly decide on something like that without him having a handle of all the facts, and right now he doesn't it. He has to debrief you for that before anything else."You are far too naive and trusting, good-for-nothing," MIE replies mournfully, disappointment clear in her voice. "To put so much trust into this mutant cat bastard from outer space." It's here that she perks up, however, her eyes glittering like freshly-polished jewels. "But, I suppose we won't have to call you good-for-nothing if you were suddenly useful, yes?" ...It's not like you like being referred to as some deadbeat layabout, but sure. That works. Besides, Kyuubey has been nothing but civil to you the entire time you've known him, so you'd like to give him the same amount of treatment, too. Give him the benefit of the doubt, to explain his side of the story as well as you with yours."Regardless, we will stay here and ensure your safety, good-for-nothing." IBARI reaches over to pat your hand. "We know all the tricks a Mutant Cat Bastard may pull, and we will guard you from every single one of them! Including that one where he turns you into a platypus!"At the far end of the room, still knitting her costume, the doll known as OKUBYOU frowns. "You had to tell her that, did you? You just couldn't leave it well alone?""It's a valid threat!" IBARI snaps at the sleepy-looking doll. "Our good-for-nothing is not some amphibious mammal with a beak!""I get that, but you're going to make my new costume weird!" OKUBYOU protests, before sulking off into a corner. Turning her back on the entire room to continue knitting in self-imposed solitude.[1/2]
>>38723790IBARI shakes her head at this, before turning back to you. "Sorry, good-for-nothing, you didn't need to see that. But yes, we'll protect you from the Mutant Cat Bastard as much as we can."Well. You don't really think you need to be protected from Kyuubey, but if they're offering, sure. Why not? It'd be refreshing to actually be protected for once, rather than you doing the protecting....Wait, you say as something unpleasant comes to mind, something unpleasant enough that it makes you cringe. The dolls volunteering to protect you is all well and good, but if your Incubator sees them--"Leave that to us, good-for-nothing." IBARI grins. "We're visible only to the people we wish to be visible to. We can still hurt them, but they won't see us unless we allow them to!"Ah. Well. That's...good to know."Matsuda?" Kyuubey's voice comes on again from the speakers, now tinged with impatience. "May I come in? Again, this is for your debriefing. If you think that I should do this another time, feel free to say so, and I will return in twenty-four hours."Your answer, of course, is to let him in. You say so out loud, and after a few moments, the doors unlock themselves in a series of metallic clicks - before grinding apart just enough to allow a single mutant cat bastard to slip through. Immediately closing behind him with the same amount of noise and preamble."Matsuda." Your Incubator and boss greets you as he steps forward. His voice slotting in smoothly in the small gaps of your mind."Kyuubey." You return with the same curt politeness, even as the ring of dolls around you bristle with clear, palpable tension at his approach. A ring of dolls that, it must be said, seems to have been missed by Kyuubey entirely - even if he had stopped only a few feet away from IBARI's scowling self....So they can't really be seen, then? You tuck that bit of information away for the future, in the off-chance that it'll be important soon enough. [2/3]

>>38723833"Right. Let's not waste each other's time." Kyuubey nodded, all business and no warmth. It's here, then, that the slightest hesitation in his eyes makes itself known - just a glimmer, nothing more, but it was there. "Like I said, I am here for your debriefing, Matsuda. I ask for your account of the entire operation involving the Prophet, from start to finish. Please be accurate, as the information you give will be immensely beneficial to the Officio."A beat passes, before your Incubator seems to hesitate. "But before that, is there anything you'd like to say first?" You stare back at Kyuubey. Of course, he didn't exactly say 'in your defense', but in the way he said the rest of his sentence, he might as well have roared it out loud. >>38724061>Ill give QB the benefit of the doubt BUT he is being a prick right now for little discernible reason. The thing about Kyuuby in MGNQ is that he actually feels emotion. By human standards he's a fucking robot, but by Incubator standards... well, it's almost unheard of. That gives him a wisdom and an empathy his compatriots just can't match, but at the same time makes him vulnerable to human failings - the greatest of which is the ability to make decisions influenced by fear, doubt and uncertainty - but to rationalize it with logical-sounding excuses. Men are pretty good at this, because men don't consider emotional reasons to be valid ones - so imagine how good an Incubator is at it.

We even put away all of the weapons and sat quietly in his little box. So why is he being outright hostile towards us?

>>38724210He knows more about the Ask- the Ashki- wookie world than we do, clearly - he may even have some knowledge into the cosmology of Magical Girl religions. Other incubators might write it off to one degree or another, but Kyuuby has enough empathy that he might draw connections between the grief-seed of Faust up on the Moon's dark side and what he sees going on here. But most significantly of all - he contracted Sayaka, who was recognized flat-out as looking identical to their deity by magical girls from another officio. Koobs ain't stupid, man; I find it hard to imagine that he hasn't noticed the uncanny resemblance. He knows something's up - he doesn't know nearly as much as we do, or even Chiaki, perhaps - but he knows enough to be scared shitless, as much as an Incubator can be.
>>38724210He might be trying to gauge whether Chiaki is in a stable mental state or not.

>>38724382>>38724398Please!>>38724379I've already made the announcement to the writefags, but as of now, all writeups other than those by Wendy and Archivalfag will be considered non-canon in order to better manage what happens in the setting. Why only them? Because I've already involved their writeups in the main story. What about the other writefag stuff that have been mentioned in the quest already? Those details still exist and are still canon to the story as they are mentioned, such as Barbara from the Iron Circle and Heather from the Sixth. Only that certain details about them are not yet declared canon. It's a bit complicated, so let's just say that everything is non-canon until they show up in the quest (and it's 90% likely that they will show up and become canon anyways)!>>38724472I'm really sorry! I'll try to make the next thread longer to compensate!
I'm probably talking out of my butt here- but is it possible that this "reality" is entirely made up of Godoka's witch barrier? As in, like Homusatan and the False City? All the characters could have been dragged in from Meguca-Valhalla as Madoka began her witch-y transformation. What would that mean for us, though?
>>38724210because Yuma just combusted.
>>38724628>Because I've already involved their writeups in the main story.Translated: Because circlejerking.G'night, Decu. Have pleasant dreams of platypuses.
>>38724630entirely possible, but thinking that way, madness lies. You do the job in front of you, because if you start assuming your senses are lying, there's no point in doing anything but having a bit of a sit down.>We will be restoring normality as soon as we are sure what is normal anyway.
>>38724630In a sense, the entirety of the world is Madoka's barrier, but it doesn't make sense to talk about a "true" reality, as there is no reality other than the one over which Madoka presides. There is no "upper" level you can escape to, there is no bed you can wake up in, there is no higher turtle on the tower you can climb towards truth. This is it, you're at the top, and the top is all in Pinky's mind. And Pinky is in it, too.

>>38724348Hi, Decu. Thanks for the thread. These are my questions:1 - Will we have the chance to enter Malal room in the officio? You know, to search for any bullsh- I mean information she has put in it2 – Will we be able to discover who prepared the ambush to Murderface that nearly had Kharn killed with the black knives?3 – In thread 1, in Mami´s apartment, there was that Witch that was apparently from the Tenth, who called us Homura. Is there anything more to discover about this incident?4 – Who is the person who told us to wake up in Midori illusion, to not take the procedure in Siberia and also called us a fool? You know, the mysterious number on the mobile phone5- The true identity of the red culexus will be revealed? There has been a lot of speculation, and many anons want to know this6- In the Yuma flashback, what would have happened if we went to visit Kharn instead of Girl A?7- Who is the Homu in the fourth mirror?8- Why have you made so drastic changes in the canonicity of the writeups? Saga of the Sixteenth, Magical Scribe Eleanor Slam or the Iron Circle are now non canon? They seemed pretty canon for me. Sorry, I am a little surprised.9- What would have happened if we didn´t gave our soul gem to Ahriman?Sorry for the question spam
Midori is love.
>>38724838>commissionsExactly. Art sells pretty good - dunno about writing.
>>38724799Because your waifu a shit
>>38724858Green moeblob has literally no original character. You can get the same, if not better romance with the same template character in pretty much every school harem VN, anime, anything. At least Wendy is like a cultist and shit, while Midori is just Shion/Mion with a thousand times less interesting personality.
>>38724913>Shion/Mion with a thousand times less interesting personalityRena best girl.
>>38724860>8- Why have you made so drastic changes in the canonicity of the writeups? Saga of the Sixteenth, Magical Scribe Eleanor Slam or the Iron Circle are now non canon? They seemed pretty canon for me. Sorry, I am a little surprised.Honestly the whole thing is a way to get around writefags having to line up at the gates of Temple Decu forever until they are allowed into the inner sanctum where a stubbled, sleep-deprived, overtaxed decu looks up from his last commission long enough to say "uh, shit, right," and hastily scratch out an "okay I guess I didn't have time to look at this oh god I want to sleep please god kill me" on a stone tablet that is then carried to the petitioner by a brace of singing angels. tl;dr it was incredibly constraining and unrealistic to have everything "centrally planned" for all writers involved; not just Decu. The new arrangement is really simple - only MGNQ story posts, or Archival and Wendy posts (the two writefags who work very closely with Decu anyway) are considered canon; but everything else isn't NOT canon either - just not "confirmed" yet. That way if Decu is free to work off the ideas/characters/characterization established by the writeups, without having to worry about VIOLATING CANON or whatever. Meanwhile writefags can write without having to clear every little detail with The Temple, and they needn't fear writing Decu into a corner. Any big fiction "universe" with multiple writers (Star Wars, et al) eventually runs into problems like these - even the goddamn professionals can't keep everything straight and internally consistent without some kind of practical principle like this one.
>>38724628>>38724773Further clarification: The new write-up system is that only Archival and Wendy's stuff actually gets posted directly in the thread. Otherwise it's put on the wiki/in a pastebin, and there's a pastebin posted with links to all the new write-ups after Chikuwa is posted. It's what was done last time, anyway. We're still trying to find a system that works.
>>38724973Rika best time traveler.
>>38724783it worked for mootkins
Goddammit, why? I liked some of those newly non-canon write-ups. Iron Circle! TTC! Steph's writings (I don't remember the name I'm sorry)! Why'd they have to get dragged down by crap like Malal's faux-2deep4u angsty bullshit? Why the fuck are we insulting good writeups by putting them in the same category as offensively bland self-insert fanfics like that?Ah, whatever. You do what you gotta do, Decu. Thanks for the thread, and don't you worry too much about the early stop or anything.
>>38725106>that Mala-hating anon is backD'aaaw, we missed you, you incoherent ranting thing you!
>>38725123I haven't complained about Mal before, actually. I figured it was just me but then I saw other people had a problem with him and got less shy about the whole thing. I also didn't like that one Mami guy at the start, and I haven't had a chance to read the Eleanor Slam saga yet (nothing personal, Attarou, it's just super huge). Look, it's been a hell of a day and this felt a bit like a last straw, is all. Still, it's Decu's playground and he knows best. If anything I'm surprised Malal didn't get Inner Sanctum clearance with his (her?) connections.
>>38725106Why are you still bitching? You won. They're not canon unless explicitly referenced as being canon. If they're never referenced, they'll never be canon. Short of them being removed entirely, this is pretty much exactly what you want, isn't it? They'll never affect the story in any way unless Deculture says they explicitly affect the story. Also,>offensively bland self-insert fanfics bad>TTC good

>>38725007I've been sitting here for ten minutes thinking of something to add to this, and I've got nothing. I think this post put it better than any of us could. Good show, anon.
>>38725179TTC is dark action and SoL. Right up my alley. It just ticks the categories I was looking for. Harumi on the other hand is basically a smug self-insert who is repeatedly shown to be perfect at everything she does despite being a normie.Anyway, I'm mostly annoyed about some of the cuts, and the implications of some gems being put in the same category as the worst sort of dross. Whatever I'll just sleep on it or something.
>>38725290>implications of some gems being put in the same category as the worst sort of drossThey were already in the same category beforehand. Now they're just in a new category.
>>38725223Like I said, my first time speaking up about this, and it's late-night salt. I can't speak for the others. Anyhoo, I'll take it to Mal or something instead of ranting here.
>>38725290>Harumi>self-insertI don't think that word means what you think it means.
>>38725342And if Mal had any stones, he'd tell you to climb a wall of dicks.
>>38725167None taken. It's pretty intimidating, I'll give you that. I didn't realize how much I'd done until I collected it all on one wiki page. Somehow it beat out all of archival's Prose Magica stuff in length even though he writes longer (and better!) stories.Kind of salty that you're taking pot-shots at Malal, though.
>>38725167Really if you don't like it, get on irc or ask.fm and provide constructive feedback Also, >TTC >good Lel
>>38725436And I just realize I said "none taken" when you said "nothing personal" when I thought you said "no offense." I am truly cotton for brains.
>>38725442Yop, good advice. Gonna look into that. Well, ask.fm, anyway. Iunno what this IRC talk is about.>>38725411The good news is that he doesn't seem to get angry over legit criticism. Good on him for that.>>38725436Prose Magica is good and all but from what I hear, comparing your work to any other write-up is basically apples and oranges. How long a read would you say it is time-wise, anyway?
One more thing before we fall off board:We've done and are still doing a ton of work on the wiki lately, writeups are now neatly separated as per the announcement. The bigger ones are also actually present on their own pages, where you will find they are much easier to read than they were in individual pastebins:http://wiki.magicalgirlnoir.com/index.php/Main_Page
>>38725544>he doesn't seem to get angry over legit criticismHe doesn't really get angry at all. I don't understand the people bashing him, it's like hitting a soft Canadian pillow, who just apologises after each hit. What kind of perverse monster enjoys this?
>>38725290You tell him! REPENT, BIKE WIZARD, YOUR TIME HAS COME.>>38725600Except Malal because that guy is lazy and basically the worst.
>>38725544Halley said he read them on an all day flight, so I guess one day?He likes Heather for some reason.

>>38725762http://ask.fm/DecultureGo here! It's probably a much better method than waiting for the end of the thread, though again, not necessarily foolproof.>>38725717I did this too, in about 5 hours, but that was about half a year ago, so it's grown since.
>>38725717Well, that's a lot less scary. I'll free up a day some time for it, then. >>38725671At least you've got sass going for you, I guess.
>>38725717>>38725901Of course I like Heathèr. She's a lot of fun to read and write. And give binging it a try Anon. Attarou's text isn't thar dense and flows well. It's easy to speed read his write ups.
