>Go shower, and get dressed.
>Give Beth a call, maybe she’ll answer.

You slip out of bed without waking Kat, something you’ve gotten relatively proficient at, and search your pile of clothes for your phone. It’s pretty easy to find, being exactly where you left it, you head to the bathroom with a suppressed yawn.

You realize upon getting in the bathroom that not only are the multitude of eyes gone, your panties are back to their normal color. With that brightening your mood you set your phone on the counter and hop in the shower to quickly shower, it takes you longer than it used to what with the bulk of the time eaten up by washing your mass of hair.

Once you dry off and blow dry your hair, a task that takes a lot longer than when Beth did it for you, you pick up your phone and call your girlfriend.

To your surprise it doesn’t go straight to voicemail, and on the second ring a tired sounding Beth answers, “Hey, sorry about yesterday… I saw that you called this morning after I got my phone back.”

“Are you already ungrounded..?” You ask surprised.

“Not fully, just got my phone back with strict curfews,” Beth sighs.

“That was fast… I was expecting to have to jailbreak you today,” you say honestly surprised.

“I was thinking about jailbreaking myself, but getting my phone too would have been difficult,” Beth says wistfully, “So whats up?”

“How was the prison time?” you ask slightly amused and getting the small talk out of the way.

“Honestly, he was a lot easier on the punishment than I thought he would be,” Beth says after a moment, “I mean sure no phone for one day strict curfew for a week, but I was expecting to not be allowed outside for the rest of summer.”

“Probably because you’re so close to graduating,” you note, shrugging as you feel Shadow Alex grope you as the towel disappears being replaced by clothes.

She idly plays with your breasts before letting you be, ”Good morning,” she says with a yawn.

‘Morning,’ you think to her, as you adjust your clothes, just a little bit.

“Maybe, but still taking away the phone really sucked, I’d take a lot of things over that,” Beth complains, “Anyways what’d you want yesterday?”

“Well I was worried, you didn’t call and then some shit happened yeah?” You sigh while thinking about that ordeal.

“What shit happened…?” Beth asks worried, “Are you alright?”

“Yeah, I’m solid. Just John got kidnapped by a magical girl, his family got fucked with but they’ll be alright… hopefully by today if not tomorrow at the latest,” You explain brushing over a lot of the details, “The magical girl lost her powers and the two that helped her were magicked into doing so.”

“... John alright then?” Beth’s voice is strained.

“Yeah, was just knocked out. On the upside I think him and Summer might hook up, or at the very least have some awkward escapades,” you chuckle a bit at that.

“Summer’s the back problems chick, right?” Beth asks, trying to remember.

“Yeah, back problems chick,” you laugh, shaking your head at that.

“Figures,” Beth sounds smug, “He always was watching the bigger girls.”

“Well I can’t say I blame him,” You say, knowing full well you’re guilty of it too… or rather just watching attractive girls.

Beth’s quiet for a moment, before asking, “Did.. you? I guess I mean did he find out about me?”

“Nah, I didn’t say anything nor did anyone else, as far as John knows you’re still normal,” You reassure her.

>At this point though, it really might be best to just tell him…
>But hey, I owe these girls a favor and ones collecting today.

>You can go out right? Why don’t you head over here. I’m cooking.

“But hey, I owe these girls a favor for helping me save John, yeah?” You say, figuring you probably should start on breakfast before Kat wakes up, and head for the kitchen.

Beth hesitantly confirms, “Yeah..?” her voice sounds worried.

“One’s collecting today, and well I promised to tell you about any time I went in against a strong demon,” you explain, “So yeah, Amy’s asking me to help her take out one and give her the core.”

“... Alex, can’t you convince her to ask for something else..?” Beth’s voice is strained, “This could end really terribly.”

“Well, she’s pretty set but I managed to at least get her to agree to running away if its too powerful, and well Kats helping… I figured you would probably help as well,” you say, almost hopeful.

She’s silent for a moment, “When does she want to do it?”

“Around noon, or so, but I told her it might be later,” You open up the fridge and look through it trying to decide on what to make, “You are allowed to go out right?”

“Yeah, I can just have to be home early,” Beth says with a sigh, “I’ll be over around then…”

“Why don’t you come over sooner? I’m making breakfast, and we can hang out maybe go on a run, or something,” you ask trying to bribe her with food.

“Well, maybe less run, but the breakfast I’m good with,” Beth says with a small laugh.

“Well we missed a couple days so soon we’ll need to make it up,” you say still unsure what you’re going to make.

Hmmm...

>There’s a waffle iron somewhere.
>Result 92(+2 mod)

You vaguely remember there being a waffle iron somewhere in one of these cabinets, with a bit of hesitent excitement you dig through the cabinets finding it behind everything else. Makes sense, waffles haven’t been made in a couple years.

With a happy hum you put on an apron, not wanting to get your clean clothes dirty, and begins mixing the batter. You do it mostly from memory and a couple guesses… and maybe a bit of cheating when you feel you forgot something through your phone.

Needless to say you start to cook them one by one, Kat walks in smelling the delicious waffles, mouth watering as she hugs you from behind, “It smells so good…” she sounds terribly hungry.

You can’t blame her, your mouth hardly waters, but at the sight of these golden wonders still steaming it does just that, if you could reliably make these this good you would probably be fat. As you’re about to respond you hear a knock at the door, you glance to your work and realize you can’t get it.

“Hey Kat, go get the door will you?” You say glancing behind to see Kat still in just her panties.

“Kay…” she says still half asleep, and wanders off to the front door.

“Wait, at least check who it is, if its Beth let her in, otherwise don’t worry about it…” You say hurriedly as you pull the third waffle off the iron.

Kat looks down at her self and flushes as she realizes what she almost did, “I’m going to run for a shirt…”

“Yeah that might be best,” you say before focusing back on the task at hand.
1/2
>>
>>38550493

A minute or two later Kat opens the door, “Hey Beth, Alex is cooking waffles.”

“Hey, I can tell…” Beth says in wonderment, “It smells amazing.”

“They’re almost done,” you pull some plates out, “Go ahead and grab the syrup and butter for me will you? Should be on the door.”

“Yeah, I can do that,” Beth nods, you note she’s dressed in jeans and a red tank top.

You hum as you pull the last waffle off the iron, a full six in total, Kat holds two plates up for you to serve, and before you know it all of you are sitting at the table with two still steaming waffles covered in a bit of syrup and already melted butter.

The cool syrup makes it a bit easier to take the first bite, something that melts in your mouth with just the right amount of crisp.

Beth looks like she’s in heaven, and Kat has tears coming down her face as she eats. You consider talking over the meal but the second bite ends that thought. The meal passes in relative silence as you all enjoy the food, its gone before you know it; especially yours as Shadow Alex eats your second waffle.

A glance at the time shows its near 10:30, and all three of you are sitting around the dinner table full.

“I am sad this will not happen again anytime soon,” you say lamenting your lack of skill to produce this kind of quality all the time.

“... I think its a good thing, you would ruin me on eating anything else ever,” Beth comments slumped in her chair.

“You cooked happiness,” Kat finally says rubbing her eyes clear.

”We need to get better at cooking, and work out a lot more,” Shadow Alex sounds content.

“I suppose you can look at it that way,” you say to Beth, licking the last bit of flavor from your lips.

Kat lets out a happy sigh, and you all fall into a bit of silence as you sit there unwilling to move. You sit there for thirty minutes or so digesting, and sharing sparse idle talk thats really only meant to fill the silence. Finally when it hits eleven you feel like you’ve sat still long enough.

“I’m going to give Amy a call, before we spend the whole day being lazy,” you give a small smile, as you pull out your phone.

“... I still would rather you ask her to do something else,” Beth half protests.

“I kind of did agree to specifically this,” you say with a shrug, “Anyways, we should be fine.”

Beth sighs but lets it be, joining Kat with a begrudging acceptance, “If you say so.”

You frown at that but call Amy, it nearly goes to voicemail before she picks up, “Hey, ready?”

“Hm, yeah as ready as we’ll ever be anyways,” you say, before asking, “So where do you want to meet for this?”

“Well, its actually near that gym on the other side of the park,” Amy explains, “I’ll show you exactly where when you get there.”

“We’ll be over there shortly, maybe ten minutes?” you say not entirely sure how long it’ll take you.

“Awesome I should be there first then, meet me in front of the gym,” Amy sounds excited, as she explains where to meet.

“Sure, see you then,” you say before hanging up.

“Where to?” Beth asks, looking as though she’s debating whether or not she really wants to stand up.

“The gym behind the park,” you gesture in the vaguely right direction, “The one we went on… well a walk so to speak.”

Beth’s cheeks turn a bit pink at the memory, before she stands up, “Right lets go and get this over with..”

Kat heads for the door, “Alex is like a tireless machine, always going and doing things.”

“Hey now, I tired out,” you say defensively, “I had a few days of doing nothing.”

Beth shakes her head, “I’m not so certain, it makes me wonder just how much you actually were doing when you forgot to charge your cell phone or something.”

You shrug at that as you all get into the car, Kat’s in the back seat sitting in the middle, where you grab shotgun almost out of habit.

Beth pulls out and drives to the gym, its a shorter drive than you thought, taking just around five minutes due more to the park being in the way than actually being that far away. The gym’s parking lot is half full, but despite that Beth parks near the back.

You all get out of the car, thankfully its not nearly as hot as it was yesterday. Down to a more reasonable 90’s range if you had to guess, still hot though.

It’s not more than a minute or two before Amy walks up, thankfully as Beth was starting to get a bit antsy. She’s in her typical get up, back covering her wings, jacket and those black running pants everyone wears.

“Hey, my estimate was off because Beth drove,” you say, nodding to her.

“Well that works out better for me,” Amy smiles, “Anyways, its on the back side of the gym, you should be able to feel it once we get closer.”

“You seem really excited for this,” Beth notes, with a sigh.

“Yeah, I am. If we manage to beat it, my next wish will be practically done,” Amy explains standing somewhat awkwardly, unsure whether she should wait or keep going if you had to guess anyways.

“You have any idea how this will compare to that god we fought?” You ask, gesturing for Amy to lead the way.

“Should be weaker, I hope… but no not a clue,” Amy shrugs, as she leads you towards the nightmare.

“That’s helpful,” you chuckle, as you head towards the backside of the gym, near the track. It’s about here that you can start feeling the pull that Beth told you about.

It’s a vague feeling that slowly tugs on you making your body want to head into the nightmare. You see Kat shiver, as Beth sighs.

“I told you I haven’t really messed with it, if it wasn’t for you I would have ignore it,” Amy turns the corner and you come face to face with the nightmare on the wall of the gym.

Even the way the darkness swirls around it looks different, instead of confined to a point it's trying to reach outward further. A sizable portion of the wall is covered in it.

“I’d say lets transform out here… but,” you look around and see a lot of people around, no one seems to be paying attention to you but still.

Beth follows your gaze before saying, “My transformation’s not too noticable... Your’s really only is loud.”

“I can’t… mine is really obvious,” Kat chews on her lip nervously, “Plus theres a lot of burnable things…”

“Well I’m a bit flashy but not likely to burn the place down,” Amy comments, “So we can either transform out here or head inside and do it quickly.”

You have, I never realized I wanted such a thing, until you started linking them. That said it makes me crave a pack or even a cigar despite the fact I have been trying not to smoke anymore.

I've accomplished it for the most part down to just on occasion but still.

The energy given from them are amazing, I used to smoke entire cigars in five minutes and be good for half a night, then smoke another. I miss both the flavor and the energy.

Think like this way, for every smoke you don't bite, you get 5 more minutes to quest!
Seriously though, smoking is bad for your health! Try chewing gums, or some soda, hell, maybe even coffie is better than smokes in every region. Except giving you energy, if your statement is right.

>Everyone but Kat, then quickly inside.

“Let’s all be quickly about it, save for Kat,” You say looking at the people moving by, “I’d rather be ready to fight than be caught with my pants down yeah?”

Beth and Amy nod, and start their respective transformations.

Beth’s clothes melt into the black mass, it has a leathery texture now that you can see now that you’re up close, she holds each fist out in turn and as it passes it leaves leather gloves with studded knuckles.

You pull your attention away and say your transformation line as Amy starts burning, “Shield of glass, spear of light; Break now, mirror, aide my fight!”

Your clothe break away from you, surprisingly muffled, perhaps because you are trying to be quiet? The fragments rearrange themselves, darkened by your latest element, and collect along your legs leaving the cargo pants that are amazingly comfortable and combat boots below that. The blouse is next, leaving your shoulders and upper back exposed; the remaining fragments consolidate into your book of mirrors.

You look around and see people looking curiously over at your group, likely at the noise and light from Amys transformation and you wave confidently, stepping between them and the dragon girl.

They wave back with a bit of indifference and continue their run around the track, you let out a sigh of relief, “Alright lets hurry up before someone else comes to look.”

“Yeah,” Amy says stepping into the wall, you watch the nightmare wrap around her and pull her in. You step in next, and you feel a welcoming sort of hug over your body.

Inside you see a huge gym there are buff guys and overtly muscular girls that would even put TENKA to shame, there’s weight equipment everywhere. All of them are so muscular that it’s beyond attractive, and instead goes into the realm of unnerving.

There’s only one that doesn’t match this appearance, it’s tall and barely fits on the benches to the point that two were pulled up, its bench pressing two pound weights in either hand and struggling a great deal with it. It glances to its side, to the largest guy in the gym with a look of pure envy and tries to push itself further, only to drop the weights to either side.

Beth and Kat came in while you were observing the nightmare, nothing has taken to attacking you just yet. Kat bites her lip before saying, “I’m just going to transform here.. it might burn a bit?”

>Yeah, alright. Be quick.
>Hold on let me do something. (Return to sender)

>Yeah, alright. Be quick.
>Amy, Kat, just make a fire storm.
>Try the smallest one?

“Yeah, alright. Be quick,” you say ready, incase it does end up burning a bit.

Amy doesn’t look concerned, where Beth actually tenses up a bit.

The fire nova rockets outwards and around you, its warm but your outfit protected you from the minimal amounts of magic it had. The others look fine as well, Beth looks a bit surprised by it but thats all.

You don’t see Kat’s transformation as you’re watching the gym in case any of them react, the tall scrawny one’s eyes snap to your group and he watches you all with blatant jealousy.

Kat finishes transforming and you see him stand up dropping the weights as he does, he stands nearly nine feet tall towering over you all. He bites his knuckle enough to draw a black blood from it, as he just watches you.

No one else in the gym has reacted to your appearance, something that pretty much confirms your earlier suspicions of it being the demon, “Yo, Amy, Kat just make a fire storm… yeah? Try centering it on that tall thin one.”

“Not exactly what I was thinking,” Amy says as she takes a deep inhalation, you see darkness form around her, and she holds her breath waiting for Kat.

Kat does a circular motion with her wand, creating a large fire ball with a ring of fire surrounding it, she glances at Amy.

With a nod they both begin their attack, Amy exhales breathing fire down and out towards the gym, its frighteningly hot and each muscular weight lifter that gets caught in it becomes nothing more than dispersed magic. The fire spreads further out stopping just short of the Demon.

Kat’s fireball flies over the flames of Amy’s attack and hits the demon straight in the chest. It explodes with a near deafening blast that sends a wave of fire out in all directions, your eyes hurt from looking at the bright flame.

The flames take out quite a few of the demons minion’s though there are still some further back and behind the frail body of the demon.

The demon itself is standing there, crying as it watches the flames, until it reaches out and grabs ahold of them, balling them up with a look of longing. It recreates Kat’s fireball, and mimics her throw sending it right back to her.

Kat starts to panic a bit, and dives out of the way; you doubt that will help much as you pull a pair of mirrors from your book, forcing your magic to react quickly, reinforcing the mirrors and giving them impossible depth. You throw the first where Kat was standing waiting for the moment of impact to throw the second.

Your mirrors close in, bouncing the fireball between each of them. They finally close in and float back to your hands incredibly warm to the touch.

During this time Beth punched the gym floor creating a metal spike that sends her over the still burning floor from Amy’s breath, and into the demon, she gives it a solid uppercut that it sends it sprawling backwards.

Amy sprints through fire following after Beth and charges a large fireball in her hands. It burns blue and you see a large amount of darkness collect around her, she roars in irritation as Beth sends her target further away.

She chases it to where the demon stopped, against a large workout machine, and slams the fireball into its face. It explodes violently, creating a small crater in the floor sending burning machines flying, causing Beth to dodge a few; your eyes have a white circle where the fireball was.

It’s relatively silent for a moment and for a second you wonder if you haven’t beaten it, then it lets and inhuman wail and grabs Amy by the back of her neck. It’s arm longer and multiple elbows along the way that weren’t there before.

The demon stands up, holding Amy before it as it quickly starts to change; the burned tissue of its face become replaced with green scales.

>Result 26 SC used.

You urgently try to make your magic obey, and force your newest element into spikes. With an unsatisfying feeling you get a half formed feeling of the magic, the darkness fighting you as it resists your will to be put into a definite shape.

‘Help, please!’ You ask Shadow Alex, watching the Demon grow larger, more of its body is covered in scales and it tosses Amy who had kicked it in one of its joints.

Shadow Alex pulls the magic back away from you, compressing it and giving you just a bit of boost as you try to force the magic to act like you want again, ”Here, that should be enough,” she says happily.

You feel everything click into place and let it go; a wave of black travels along the ground to the now scaled demon. Spikes fly up from the mass hitting the Demon in the chest as it gets crushed by a metal pillar from above. Kat has gotten closer and is letting forth a cone of flame that licks at the Scaled demon.

With a roar, it breaks the pillar above it grabbing the metal, and forming a wall in between it and Kat, before it charges at you on all fours a ball of darkness growing in its mouth. It tackles you to the ground, and fire’s the spike hell it copied from you point blank.

The spikes rip into your costume, nearly tearing your blouse clean off. It’s heavy weight weighs in on your arms painfully.

You hear Beth shout something but you can’t make it out, panic and adrenaline making every moment a century. It’s eyes are becoming like yours and it’s scales growing darker as it loses its shadow.

>Giants Fist

You don’t even think about it, the magic coming to you naturally, bringing with it more than you want; something you don’t have time to pay attention to, instead focusing on the demon ontop of you. A fist the size of your chest made of darkness slams into its side sending it flying off of you.

Before you can even stand up you see Amy jump over you with a mad grin on her face, “Just die already!” her hands each carrying a fist full of fire. You turn to watch her chase the demon, to the wall it crashed into, Kat scrambling away from it.

Amy’s arrival is announced with the sound of the demons cry, and a matching cry from Amy as she’s slammed into the ground by a giant black fist easily the size of her body.

You realize you’ve lost your book, and see it close by, with a quick scramble you reach for it only to find it snap to your hand before you could even get close. With a quick movement you’re back on your feet just in time to see a metal spike from Beth break against its scales.

A glance towards Kat show’s she’s run into the remaining minions that are progressing on her, until she creates a cone of fire before her burning the last few.

>Use the fireball you stole

With your book returned, you pull a mirror from its endless pages, and toss it just before the demon, who has managed to get back to its feet. It leaps toward Amy, who’s started rolling away desperately. It doesn’t end up mattering as with a bit of will you swap the mirror with the one containing the fireball.

It impacts the demons side mid air and explodes sending out a powerful nova while launching the demon across the ground, it screeches in pain and inhales the first creating another firenova.

Before the demon can shoot it at you, Beth rushes in with an overtly large spiked mace and smashes its face with it.

The firenova in the demon’s mouth explodes sending both of them sprawling, Beth lets out a pain cry as she bounces away. The demon barely gets to its feet, losing scales as it does and creates a mace similar to Beth’s but appropriate to his larger size.

Amy managed to get to her feet with the time Beth created and is there before the mace finishes forming, her hands glowing red. She stops just before him and slams them into the ground creating a pillar of flame before her on the demon.

You lose sight of it through the thick flames, they don’t last long though and soon you can see the demon collapsing in on itself before compressing to a green core.

Amy lets out a sigh of relief, “Oh thank you, I was starting to get worried…”

With the demon dead you quickly head over to Beth to see she’s fine, her costume took the blow… though she barely has anything left with only her gloves, half of her shirt and front portion of her skirt.

“This… is why I didn’t want to come in here,” Beth complains as she leans against the husk of a bench.

Kat pads over and asks, “Everyone okay..?”

“Yeah, I’m good,” Amy waves Kat’s concerns off.

“Thankfully,” you shrug and look down at yourself, your top’s just barely concealing your chest, “We did well enough, though.”

“It could have easily been a lot worse,” Beth points out, before standing up and brushing herself off grimacing as she does so, “... I think I pulled something in my back.”

“Ahh, that sucks,” you stand up with her, before glancing to Kat who looks untouched, “... I’m impressed Kat.”

Kat hums happily, “Really it was because of you though, that first attack would have hurt I think…”

“Yeah, still though,” you say and stretch, before chuckling, “Seriously that wasn’t so bad, I didn’t even summon Shadow Alex.”

“I’m glad you didn’t… I don’t want to know what would have happened,” Beth sighs.

“That’s actually a good point,” you frown at that, glancing to Amy who’s picked up the core.

”I’m just glad I got to help,” Shadow Alex says happily.

‘Thanks for that by the way,’ You think to Shadow Alex.

She hums in response, ”You’re welcome!”

“Thanks for the help Alex, consider the favor paid,” Amy’s grinning widely, “Thanks to your friend Beth and Kat.”

“Ah, I really didn’t introduce you properly Beth,” you say rubbing the back of your head, “Beth this is Amy, she claims to hit like a truck, Amy this is Beth my girlfriend.”

Amy gets a wide smile, “Girlfriend huh?”

Beth crosses her arms over her chest, “What you got a problem with it?”

“Oh no, no problem at all, just thinking about something’s is all,” Amy gives you an amused look.

Your girlfriend’s wearing a frown as she turns to you, “Alex you make the strangest friends.”

“Well I had some help with the latest set,” you shrug with a smile.

“How much did you tell her about yesterday?” Amy asks almost nonchalantly.

Beth’s frown deepens with a bit of worry, “Was there something you didn’t tell me..?”

Tone, intent, and implication of how the character feels over said thing.

I get this question a lot but the way things are said can imply a lot about what a person is thinking.
>>
>>38568242
Here's hoping that Beth's reaction isn't (justifiable) anger, but instead annoyance and the promise to use those handcuffs on us...
>>

Fair enough, but the second she attempts to apply control she'll be badmouthed just like Beth.
>>
>>38569127
Dono most of the bad mouthing about Beth was that she was almost an unknown. That's changed a bit she's a bit more fleshed out. But I don't think Amy would catch that particular flak. She's got a particularly strong personality.

“Well, the car was full so I put the fat one,” you gesture to Amy, “In Shadow Alex’s room.”

“I’m not fat,” Amy protests with an irritated growl, “You’ve got more on you than I do!”

“But its not fat,” you glance down to your breasts, “Well mostly, and even considering it your wings put you clearly bigger than me.”

“Just.. just drop the fat thing,” Amy says irritated.

You think on it for a bit before shrugging, “Maybe.”

Kat watches the exchange with a confident smile, a confident smile on her face.

“Did something happen to set that off..?” Beth asks, brow furrowed.

You shrug, “She more or less called me fat when we rescued John.”

“I’m surprised you care,” Beth laughs, “I mean really.”

“Well, anyways,” you say moving on, “She wrecked Shadow Alex while she was in there.”

Amy snorts, “Wrecked is one way to say it…”

Beth frowns glancing between the two of you, “What do you mean wrecked?”

You hesitate, realizing its a bit awkward to put into words, “Well, uhh, Shadow Alex’s ass is still a bit sore?”

”Nah, it’s solid,” Shadow Alex corrects you, ”I’m still irritated at her knocking me off the bed though.”

Beth’s face is carefully composed, “I see… why did you let it happen?”

You glance towards Kat as she moves closer to you and Beth, letting you see the Nightmare slowly shrinking. You have a bit of time but not much longer.

>Shadow Alex can do what she wants… to an extent.

“Shadow Alex can do what she wants…” you shrug, “Well to an extent anyways, there are places where I’ll draw the line.”

“And letting her fuck another girl isn’t where you draw the line..?” Beth asks incredulous.

You shake your head, “She’s got a mind of her own, you know?”

“You said before she was you, and now she’s got a mind of her own?” Beth sigh’s in irritation.

“It’s..” you shrug almost helpless unsure of your own feelings on it, “Look Beth, I… well its complicated, I mean I’ve barely been at this more than a week now.”

“I know that,” her voice is strained, “I just feel like I can’t take my eyes off of you for a second.”

“You can though, I’ve kept what I promised,” you say earnestly, giving her a small hopeful smile.

Beth is silent for a moment as she thinks, watching you closely. Her silence starts to make a pit form in your stomach, thankfully before it gets too bad she speaks up.

“Okay, okay…” Beth runs a hand through her hair, “Just… next time tell me so I don’t have to find out like this?”

You let out the breath you were holding in, “Yeah, I can do that,” you look to see that Kat and Amy are both standing by the entrance.

Kat looks like she doing her best not to eavesdrop while quietly talking with Amy, who cannot even be bothered to wipe the smug look from her face.

The nightmares nearly faded entirely, you aren’t certain what happens if it does and you’re still in here… but you aren’t too keen on finding out. A quick glance at everyone shows that you all are suspicious looking, and save for Kat you probably have changes waiting for you…

>Detransform, just head for Beth’s car.

You look down at yourself and realize that you’re solid, with that realization you let the magic fade. With the sound of breaking glass it explodes off of you before reforming as your tank top and cutoff shorts, the few darkness motes you accumulated hit you making you feel a bit warm but nothing happens.

“Beth you probably have a change waiting, same for you Amy,” you stretch again when you notice the signs of some light bruising forming on your arms.

Beth grimaces, “Well, I can’t exactly walk out there like this… fuck it,” she drops transformation, her jeans and red tanktop coming back unharmed.

You watch her shiver as the darkness hits her, curiosity fills you as you wonder exactly what’ll happen; you almost miss the change altogether until you realize her arms have become toned, her legs shapely in a different way, and her bust has lost some of its size.

Beth frowns as she looks down at herself, pulling at her shirt, “... at least its temporary.”

“A sample of working out with me,” you say with a smile, Kat comes up to your side back to normal in basketball shorts and an oversized t-shirt.

“Can we get Ice cream after this?” She asks hopeful, “The last two days have been bad.”

You frown as you think on how much cash you have, “.. maybe, I’m running short on money.”

Kat nods accepting that as an answer, as the three of you head for the exit and by extension Amy.

She’s still transformed, “My changes from using too much magic tend to be pretty awful, so I’ll wait till I get home. If you have something to cover me up..?”

“Yeah, sure,” you say, remembering that you still have her clothes from before, ‘Yo hand me her clothes will you?’
1/2
>>
>>38574203

Shadow Alex makes a disgruntled sound but you find Amy’s clothes in your hands all the same, you toss them to her as Shadow Alex finds solace in fondling you. You twitch as she finds and unexpectedly good spot.

“Thanks,” Amy glances at the clothes then snorts, slipping into them with practiced ease, “I’ll see you all later,” she uses the second shirt to hide her wings as best she can, “Thanks again for the help.”

“You’re welcome,” you say before exiting the nightmare, Amy follows after you with Beth and Kat shortly behind.

Amy waves before taking off as quickly as she can without drawing attention to herself.

Beth seems to lose a lot of the tension she had as Amy hurries off, even letting a sigh of relief go. The three of you head for her car, and climb in; as always in the summer the heat of the car is killer but Beth quickly turns the AC.

“So what now?” Beth asks adjusting the vents to blow on her better.

I'll be around for a bit.

One thing I'd like to ask is, how'd you feel about the changes in combat?

Did you prefer before with the clash or the defense system?

Also I think I will need to lower some DC's as they require 6's to get even with +9

>Questions
>Concerns
>Comments
>>
>>38574374
The sixes just mean we need to practice more or be willing to accept temp changes after a longer fight.

I missed most of the fight but it looked good.

SO if we do Go to John's will Beth pass on it considering she'd have to explain her change?
>>

>Ice cream

>Check in on John (and maybe light a fire under his ass about getting in touch with Summer)
>>
>>38574374
It means that we need to be able to start spending those SC to chance those rolls.
>>
>>38574374
Combat felt fine. And yeah one or two of the DCs need to be tweaked possible.

Anyways, thanks for the thread.
>>
I forgot to say it, but as always thanks for playing.

>>38574499
>SO if we do Go to John's will Beth pass on it considering she'd have to explain her change?

It'll bring up a conversation about that in which you can talk to her about coming out with being a magical girl. It might end in, 'Never mind then'

>>38574581
I do like that part of it, as previously SC were more or less just there.
>>
>>38574664
I think the SC are definitely a bit more useful now but I would tweak the DCs down as you suggested so they aren't always mandatory. You're going to run into problems again though once flat power creeps into a range where we don't need the SC again. We may need to come up with more impressive even higher DC abilities to keep up with powerful shit.

Is that what you were going for?
>>
>>38574664
>>38574816
Do keep in mind if we practice a spell outside of fighting we get lower dcs for spells.
>>
>>38574868
With that in mind it seems like in general the SC is naturally meant to make a magical girl survive long enough to realize self sufficiency. Then eventually to be a way to get out of truly magnificently bad situations the magical girl just straight up doesn't have the firepower for.
>>
>>38574933
Pretty much yeah. High tier Mgs don't need them unless thing get thoroughly fucked.
>>
>>38574816
Originally that was the idea, but as the ability list is already fairly lengthy I feel I might avoid doing that.

I still am toying around with the idea of finishers, or abilities that need SC to use. I am bad at thinking of abilities for this though.

But as
>>38574965
Says the idea was 'more important early on' and then at the strong demon tier, to help with 'oh shit' situations.

Also for doing things that really shouldn't happen see reference Summon Shadow Alex.
>>
>>38574374
Thanks for running the quest!

>Did you prefer before with the clash or the defense system?
It feels like the new system seems to discourage diversifying our attribute points, what with the defense changes and increased DCs.

Also, was dropping the "take 2 'Darkness' on a roll for flat +6 once per roll" bit from the rules intentional? Not that we ever used it anyway, I was just curious.
>>
>>38577861
We used it.
>>
>>38577887
Ah, my bad, I probably missed it when I was first catching up on the threads. Thank you for the correction.
>>
>>38575061
I could think of something like combo-attacks
turning two of our current attacks into one.

That should increase the DC by a whole lot and make it necessary to use SC.
