You’ve just finished playing a game of hide and seek with Shannon, Jenna, and a few of your monsters. Unfortunately, you’ve run out of good hiding spots, so the game is over for now.

Shannon and Jenna start to discuss what they plan on playing next. It was going to be time for lunch fairly soon, but you could always do something in the meantime.

You consider what you want to do while you wait.

"You two have fun," you say, waving farewell, "I'm going to head downstairs."

"Okay," Jenna nods, giving you a quick wave before turning back to Shannon.

Once you get to the bottom of the stairs, you quickly find Lisa in the living room. She seems to have a cup of tea, though she also has lain out many of her arrows on the table, occasionally picking one up and inspecting it. She appears rather focused on what she's doing, and doesn't notice your arrival.

You carefully work your way around the edge of the room, positioning yourself behind the sofa where she's sitting. You make sure to wait until she isn't holding anything before making your move. You wouldn't want her to spill her tea or cut herself on one of the arrows.

Leaning over, you wrap your arms around her, pulling her into a sort of hug. She lets out a small yelp, starting to squirm before realizing it's you, and you feel her start to relax back into her seat.

"Ceil..." she says, her face somewhat red with embarrassment, "I didn't hear you come in. How long were you standing there?"

"Not too long," you reply, moving around the sofa to sit next to her, "You seemed really focused on what you were doing. I just thought I'd have a bit of fun."

"You know I'm going to have to get you back for all these surprises at some point right?" she says, grinning mischievously.

"I look forward to it," you smile back.

"So what were you working on?" you ask, glancing down at the assortment of arrows.

"Oh this?" Lisa starts, "I was just going over all the arrows I had left, making sure they're still in good condition. I want to make sure I'm well prepared for the hunting trip in the mountains."

"Yeah," you nod, "You've got quite the selection here."

"It could be better," she frowns, picking up one of the shafts, "There's a lot of things we might come across and I don't know if I have the tools to deal with it. The dragon tooth arrows are good, but they're pretty much all I've got against bigger things."

"Well, we could always try and find materials for you to use," you say, "I'm not sure what would be useful for arrows though."

"Don't worry about it too much," Lisa smiles, "I just want to make sure everything goes well."

"What materials were you looking for?" you decide to ask.

"Well, most of the good stuff usually comes from monsters. Teeth are usually the easiest, but sometimes claws work too," she explains, "What I'm missing is a good way to take out metallic monsters, since none of my arrows work very well against them. There's also the possibility of using something else to make more non-lethal arrows like you wanted, but I'm not really sure what would work the best. Something explosive might work, but I might need to get some help with the actual construction."

You nod along. It was impressive how much Lisa knew about this sort of thing.

"I've also heard some people use insect stingers or snake teeth to make poisoned arrows, but I don't think I want-" she stops suddenly, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to ramble on like this."

"It's fine," you smile, "It does seem like there are a lot of things you could use though. Maybe you could check with Lana or Maggie and see if there's anything in the forest that might work?"

"I'm not a big fan of all this ghost stuff," she says, shifting slightly closer to you, "Although I suppose it might come in handy."

"Well, there's no harm in asking," you say, Lisa nodding in reply.

Following your conversation, it's almost time for lunch, so the two of you head into the kitchen. It seems Lana has gotten there before you, starting her own cooking preparations. You help her out as best you can, mostly with preparing the vegetables. Today's meal looks to be a hearty soup alongside some bread and meat. It's coming along rather well, though you find yourself out of ways to help fairly soon. After you set the table, you decide to head upstairs to fetch Jenna and Shannon.

Looking through all the rooms, you find them having a tea party in Shannon's, sitting around a small table on pillows. They seem to be having a good time of it, so you let them know that lunch will be ready soon and leave them to finish up.

Soon enough, you're all seated around the table ready to eat. All of this good food was surely going to make eating on the road more bland, but for the moment, it's delicious.

Jenna seems to be enjoying the meal as well, Jirachi taking one bite of everything as is her custom. Shannon chats with her a lot, a big smile on her face. You guess she doesn't get to have many opportunities to talk with someone else her age.

"Thank you," you say, "I'm glad we're not causing you any trouble."

"There was one other thing I wanted to ask you about," you begin.

"Oh?" she says, somewhat surprised, "What might that be?"

"Well, I mentioned it briefly when I was telling you about what happened lately," you continue, "But there was a psychic monster I met. It sort of looks like a person, with green hair and a dress. Lisa and I had a weird experience where our dreams were connected because of it, due to the way it experiences emotions. I was wondering if you knew anything about this sort of thing."

"Hmm..." she ponders for a moment, "I can't say I know many details on psychic monsters. I do know that some feel emotions to a stronger degree and are vulnerable to the feeding of certain ghosts, and while most of them can sense ghosts, they usually don't react well to them. I don't know much other than that. Why do you ask?"

"It's just a strange feeling I get sometimes," you say, "She fixed the connection our dreams had to her, but I can't shake the feeling that some of the influence might still be there."

"Well, I'm sorry that I can't do much to help you," she sighs, "Unless..."

"Unless what?"

"There is a friend who might be able to help," she explains, "However, if you want her help, you must trust me completely. There is a certain amount of risk involved, and you'll need to stay calm. I need to know if you can handle it."

"Alright," you nod, "Let's do this."

"Okay then," she says, "First, I'll need you to close your eyes."

You do so, waiting a few tense moments before you feel something being placed upon your head.

"Now, just focus carefully on your memories of the monster you met, and remain calm."

You think back to your experiences with the psychic monster, although a strange humming noise starts to fill your ears. It's rather distracting, and you find yourself getting increasingly annoyed. You try to stay calm though, feeling yourself getting tired and less aware of your surroundings.

You find yourself now in a pitch black abyss, much like the one you recall visiting in your dream with Lisa, except now there is only a faint purple dot, slowly moving towards you. As it gets closer, you note that its appearance is rather familiar.

Once it gets very close, its yellow eyes look you up and down before settling on your head. It billows its cloak towards you, and as you feel the fabric pass through your head, a sharp pain follows. You almost cry out in pain, but you grit your teeth and bear through it. It lasts for a few moments longer, when you see the figure has withdrawn, holding a light blue string, which seems to be attached to your head.

You do your best not to freak out as the small creature examines the thread, the red jewels on it occasionally flashing. Eventually it seems satisfied, releasing its grip and causing the ribbon to coil back into your head once more, with a painful snap. Simultaneously, you feel yourself hitting something, causing your eyes to shoot open. You find yourself lying on the floor, chair overturned and Maggie's hat sitting beside you.

"Ah, it's done," Maggie says, standing up and walking over to pluck her hat off the ground and place it on her head, "It seems that there is still a connection present, though it isn't one that can control you, merely one that would allow communication if activated again by the creature."

Your head is still reeling from the strange experience, but you do your best to shake it off and reply.

"So what does that mean?" you ask.

"Basically, if it wants to talk to you, it can," Maggie explains once more, "Other than that, you're safe. I think."

"You think?"

"I'm not an expert on this sort of thing," she huffs, "I'm just telling you what I know."

So, we have a Hat, a Lamp, a Doll, a Sword and a Stump as ghost pokemon. I wonder what other shapes they'd be.
Also, Medi. Would anyone be able to see like Hoopa or Giratina? Or would they have Mundane Forms like other ghosts. Also, how would Shedinja work?

Shedinja would likely appear as a shed cicada shell attached to a nearby surface. Hoopa would appear as a golden ring looped around something, while Giratina would be an inky black shadow, but since both are legendary they're capable of forcing people to see them as they truly are.

Anyway, back to writing.

"Alright, thanks for the help," you say, standing up.

"It wasn't any trouble for me," she replies, "But I'm glad we could be of assistance."

"Well, I really appreciate it," you say, reaching up to pet her hat. It feels rather fluffy, but is still somewhat cool to the touch. As you continue to pat it you soon realize that Maggie is giving you a stern glare, and you pull your hand back.

"Anyway, I'll see you later!" you say hurriedly as you rush out the kitchen and head outside.

"We're going to work on your range with water pulse again," you say. Frogadier gives a quick nod, drawing a breath to form another water pulse in front of his mouth, holding it there. You can tell he's trying to push it forward, but his efforts only make it quiver slightly.

"Well, that didn't work last time, so lets try something different," you continue, "Don't think of it like your bubble attack. It doesn't work the same way, so you'll need to figure out some other way to get it where you need to go."

Frogadier seems to ponder your words. At first he tries jumping forward rapidly and then stopping, trying to move the ring away from him using speed, though it stays firmly secured in place. He gives it a few more tries, then in frustration, he grabs at the edge of the ring and tosses it, causing it to sail a few yards before splattering against the ground.

The frog looks at his hands in surprise, then quickly forms another ring, this time grabbing it more gently and just holding it. It seems to almost stay attached to his fingers, though you also notice it slowly deteriorating into simple droplets of water before falling apart entirely. Seems he can't maintain it like that for long.

After a few more tries to get the feel of its shape, Frogadier steps back once more, and in a single fluid motion, forms a ring on his lips, grabs it in his hand, then reels back for a throw, causing it to spin forward through the air.

You notice a few sprays of water coming off of it, likely the ring deteriorating in flight. Before it can reach the tree Frogadier was aiming at however, it wobbles in the air, causing it to spin off course into the branches of another tree nearby. He gives it a few more tries, but most of them go off-target in a similar way. Moving closer seems to solve the problem, but it seems his current method of using the attack is going to take some practice to aim properly.

"Nice work!" you exclaim, giving the frog a few pats on the head. He croaks in triumph, before going back to practice his aim.

You're not quite sure how that worked, and consider what you knew so far. Assuming Aura worked off of life force, perhaps it needed to be touching something living in order to be directed like that. If that's how ranged aura attacks work though, you might need to develop your Aura Strike into something you can hold so you can throw it. Surely it can't just be that though, can it?

"We're going to work on our aura strikes," you say, heading over to the nearby treeline.

You start with some brief focusing to get your mind in place before starting to strike at the tree with your aura, trying to improve its force. Riolu does the same, using the pads of his paws to punch at it. You take your time between strikes, using your aura vision to view the damage and considering what to try to improve it.

Eventually, you reach a stopping point where you feel yourself getting too tired to continue. Your strikes feel a bit sharper now though.

>Aura Strike II gained

Riolu stops once he sees you do so, figuring that you're done for today. You reach down and pet his head.

Looking over, you see Frogadier has already stopped his aiming practice, though you notice a narrow gash on the tree he was aiming for earlier, so he must have hit it at least once.

With the sun getting lower in the sky though, you decide it's time to head back in. It's almost time for dinner after all.

And that's it for tonight's thread! Thanks for playing. I'll be around for a bit if you have any more questions or comments on anything.

How do Ghost Trainers battle other pokemon? It seems kind of awkward.
Also, how far does Wonder Guard extend? Could you wear a shedinja like a hat and be invincible?
>>
>>38504511
Battling is something that isn't very widespread, mostly taking the form of duels. Of course, most people would laugh at you for trying to claim a hat as your monster.

Wonder Guard for Shedinja isn't quite a field of protection. It's more along the lines of if you shot the carapace with an arrow, it would fall of the tree and crumble, but then if you turned the corner there would be another one right there, being the Shedinja that moved.

>Which is when you infiltrate their dreams and repeatedly spam Ghost Ball, right?

Murdering your dueling opponent is frowned upon, and killing them using magic is a pretty good way to get accused of witchcraft.

>So does that mean that Maggie and Co really like/trust Ciel if she's willing to let him wear her Hat?

It was temporarily wearing his hat. It'd be a bigger sign of trust if she lent it to him in the long term. Other than that, Shannon adores Ceil, Lana likes him when he doesn't talk her ear off, and Maggie finds him hilarious.
