You are Siegfried Schmidt, a former guard from the city of Morsland. Due to various circumstances, you have become the temporary wielder of Galadriel, a holy sword which houses a powerful (and kind of rude) angel. Now you have come to the White Watchtower, a fortress close to the border between the Forsaken Lands and the kingdom of Iseria, to train with the crusaders so that you can protect yourself from the demons that might come after you now that the sword is in your possession.

It is the morning of your first day at the watchtower. Your training begins today.

You wake up in the morning to the sound of knocking on your door. Dragging yourself out of bed, you answer the door and a young man in white armor hands you a letter, leaving without another word. You open the letter and read.

"This will be your training schedule for the next week. Please make sure you are on time to all of it.

Breakfast at 8 AM
Weapon training at 9:30 AM at the practice field.
Free time from 11 AM to 12 PM
Lunch at 12:10 PM
Magic training in the arcane practice room at 1:30 PM
Free time from 2:30 to 3:30
Horseback riding from 4:30 to 5:30 PM
Dinner at 6 PM
Meditation at 7 PM

Okay then, so you have sparring practice right after breakfast. You have time before breakfast starts, so you wonder what you should do with your free time.

You decide to go find Erika and Daniel so you can eat breakfast together. It takes a bit of searching, but eventually you run into them talking to each other on the ground floor.

"Well look who's up already." Erika says with a smile.

"Indeed. It is good to see you are up and about already Siegfried." Daniel says.

"Yeah, someone woke me up early this morning. They had a letter for me from the knight-captain about my training schedule. I figured I'd find you guys while I was up so we could eat breakfast together."

"That is a sound decision. We should go and find seats now then, before the dining hall becomes too full to find seats."

The three of you go to the dining hall and find seats. Already the place is full of people, getting an early start on breakfast. You grab some food from the platters on the table and put them on your plate, as Daniel and Erika do the same. Erika's plate is so full you can hardly see the plate underneath all the food, while Daniel's plate is actually fairly sparse. Your own plate is in the middle, just the right amount to start the day with.

You notice as you eat that the other people here keep glancing over at you, before quickly turning away when they see you've noticed them. You should have figured it would be like this after the knight-captain's announcement last night.

"So what can I expect from weapon training today?" you ask them.

"Is that what you have next?" Erika asks. "Well in that case, Leonard's probably going to take you to the armory first to get suited up. After that, you're probably just sparring on the first day. Hope for your sake it's not with him, he's a tough bastard."

Daniel chuckles. "Indeed. I imagine brother Leonard will have someone closer to Siegfried's skill range there to practice with instead."

"What, you don't think I could take him?" you ask jokingly.

"No." they both say in unison. Well shit, that was fast.

"Well thanks for the confidence." you tell them dryly. "In that case, who do you think I actually will be practicing with today?"

They both shrug. "Who knows? It could be anyone." Erika says.

"I would think it will at least be someone with similar experience to yourself." Daniel adds. "Though I could be wrong. brother Leonard has been known to put his students to the test from time to time."

"So expect to be knocked on your ass fairly often." Erika quips.

You shrug off that last comment. "In any case, what sort of weapons should I use for training? I doubt they're going to let me use Galadriel for a sparring match."

Erika shrugs. "Greatsword's always worked well for me."

"I think you should decide that based on what your opponent is using." Daniel answers. "You are able to change Galadriel's form in a real fight, so I believe it would make sense for you to learn what weapons work best against others."

"Makes sense, I guess."

The two of you chat some more over the course of breakfast, until eventually everyone goes their separate ways. Before you go though, Daniel adds one last thing as you leave. "I shall see you again when it is time for magic training Siegfried. The training room is on the third floor, try to be on time."

You'll see him then? You guess that means he's going to be your teacher for magic training then. That or helping the real teacher, who knows.

You make your way back to the courtyard where Erika took you yesterday, the training yard. People are there practicing today as well, but amongst them you see a man wearing light armor and a green cloak waiting for you. He has a stern look on his face, and when he notices you he steps forward.

"You there. You're Siegfried, correct?"

You nod. "That would be me."

"Good. I am brother Leonard, one of the instructors here at the tower. I'm going to be in charge of teaching you how to fight for the next month or so. We'll go get you armored up before we start, but first off I want to ask you something. How confident in your swordsmanship are you?"

>"Confident enough, I guess."

"Not sure really. I've scraped by on dumb luck, surprise, and people underestimating me, but I like to think even that takes at least a bit of skill."

"Hmm" He mutters, sizing you up. "You're not entirely wrong, but you won't be able to scrape by on luck alone forever. At least it sounds like you're not completely inexperienced. We'll find out how you match against one of the others here soon, but first we need to get you suited up. Follow me."

You follow him past the courtyard and down another hall, to a large door with a big iron padlock on the handle. Leonard pulls out a key and opens the door, leading you inside.

Inside, you see rows upon rows of weapons. Bows, swords, spears, halberds, bardiches, pretty much anything you can think of is here. And not just weapons, but armor too. You see everything from chain to plate to scale, as well as a wide selection of shields. Curiously, you also see what appears to be normal sets of clothing here as well. One thing they all have in common though is that they are all white, if the armor in question could not normally be painted, then it comes with a white tabard, bearing what you assume to be the tower's heraldry: A two-headed dragon holding a sword in one claw and shield in the other whilst looking in opposite directions, set on a flat silver shield.

"You already have Galadriel, so don't bother grabbing any of the weapons here." Leonard says, heading straight to the suits of armor in the back. "You'll need some armor to protect you though, so take your pick, and don't worry about the weight."

Your first instinct is to head for the plate. If you're going to be fighting demons, you want to be as well armored as you can be. However, you can't help but be curious about the clothes, so you ask Leonard about them.

"What are the clothes here for? I can't imagine they'd offer much protection."

He nods. "You would think that. However, the clothes are enchanted. All of the armor here is enchanted to make it more comfortable to wear, since you'll be wearing it at almost all times, in case of a sudden attack."

Huh. So that's how Erika was able to wear her plate all day back in Morsland. At least now you know she's not as messed in the head as you thought at the time. Not AS messed, at least.

"The clothes here take it a step further though." he continues. "They have some basic wards on them so they can offer at least a little protection, but they also make the wearer move faster than normal. Good for archers and people with a fighting style that emphasizes speed, but try not to get hit if that's what you're choosing."

You look at the set of plate in front of you, and back to the set of clothes. In the end, you decide to go with

>>38432624

Since we are going to be constantly switching styles mid combat having extra speed should help all of them.

No point. Plate restricts movement heavily. Usually, it's made with a specific weapon in mind, and only has gaps for that form of movement.
>>
>>38432624
>The plate
while it might make us faster, when we do get hit its not going to be good, plate all the way, its only a little restricting according to OP, I'll take that any day over being a soft target

You can, but your movement is still sort of impeded when you're wearing the plate. It's possible, but expect to trip fairly often.

Well we can always put a padded coat or some mail on later, even slip a brigantine chest piece and a helm later. Its not so set in stone as to be worth arguing overmuch. While I liked the plate the most none of them were bad choices, just the style we're training/ walking in for the moment.

You look at the set of plate in front of you. Originally you thought it would be better to just cover yourself in as much armor as you can, but being able to move faster sounds like a pretty good bonus. You remember your fight with Andras, how he cleaved right through your armor last time, and how you were basically cooked alive by the electric shock from his blade. Heavy armor might be a good choice for dealing with grunts and normal enemies, but if you ever find yourself face to face with Andras or someone as powerful as him again, it'll probably be in your best interest to avoid the hit altogether than to try and tank it.

You take the set of clothes instead. Leonard nods after you've made your decision, and leaves the room while you get changed.

You feel very light on your feet after changing. You try moving around some, and indeed you do feel a little faster. You practice with it a bit, learning how to move at a normal pace and how to move faster while wearing the enchanted clothing, and when you're finished you meet Leonard outside.

"Finished getting adjusted?" he asks. You nod, and he leads you back to the training yard.

"Alright Siegfried, now I'm going to have you partner up with someone to help me get an idea of where you are now in terms of combat prowess." He looks around the yard for a bit, before pointing to someone by the training dummies. "You, Justine. Come here for a moment will you?"

Leonard speaks up. "I'll assume you're going to use your spear as usual Justine?" She nods. "Alright then, go and stand on this end here. Siegfried, go and grab a weapon from the rack and stand there."

You nod, and head over to the weapon rack. Lets see, Justine is using a spear, so you decide to use

A shield is absolutely necessary

>>38434475
Closing distance on a skilled spear user is fucking wicked hard, spears aren't slow like people think.
>>
>>38434443
We used one in the fight with the bandits. We crit-killed the one carrying a spear with it too.
>>
>>38434546
which is why i voted halberd, we can disarm the bitch if need be or split her spear in half, and being even on reach.
>>
>>38434578
She is an experienced opponent with a faster weapon and equal reach, if she wasn't someone who (seems) to use a spear as a primary that might work. Also, a good spear isn't super easy to break either, a solid shaft is hard to split, hence why you can block swords with a quarterstaff.
>>
>>38434617
but she has limited attack movements, we get a spear a hook and an axe, we get versatility edge on her
>>
>>38434647
She has the same motions as we do, she can thrust and slash, the only thing we can do that she cant is pull (axe-heads are cool) and being batted in a sideways motion by a spear can still fuck you up real bad. Moreover depending on how she fights she can use the entirety of the spear, not just the front portion whereas we aren't that good. I trust a shield more than anything else when it comes to an unknown enemy.
>>
Back, calling the vote now.
>>
>>38434330
You think back to the bandits on your way to the tower. There was one carrying a spear who you killed while Galadriel was in Halberd form, so you decide to go with that.

You take the halberd and stand where the instructor told you to stand, facing towards Justine. Watching her, you get the impression she's pretty experienced with a spear, so this may be a tough fight.

The two of you stare at each other, waiting for Leonard to give the signal. "Ready?" Leonard asks from the side. You both nod, neither taking their eyes of the other. "Then go!" he calls.

You decide to fight defensively, get a feel for how she fights first. You barely have time to act, however, as immediately after Leonard starts the match she starts jabbing at you. The enchantment from your new set of clothes allows you to dodge in time, but she continues to jab at you repeatedly. She's pretty damn fast.

You manage to dodge or parry the majority of her blows, but after dodging one of her jabs she quickly sweeps the spear sideways at your feet. You try to jump over it, but it grazes your right foot. It was a hard swing, so you imagine it would have really hurt if it had fully connected, but what you got definitely still smarts.

>9/10 HP remaining.

She backs up after that, disengaging when you attempt to swing at her with the halberd in retaliation. It misses her by just a hair's breadth. You try to read her expression. It's just the faintest change, but you can see a difference in her expression now from her expression at the start of the fight. You think she expected to knock you flat on your back with that last sweep.

Now that you've gotten a feel for her attack patterns, you go on the offensive. You advance, predicting her incoming jab and move to the side, hitting her with a swing of your halberd. It's a solid blow, and she backs up again after you hit. Now the difference in expressions is clear. She looks focused now, contrary to the blank poker face she had at the start of the fight.

This time she charges at you, drawing her spear back slightly for a hard jab.

You know her attack is coming, so you get into a firm stance and get ready to parry.

She closes, and throws a power jab at your chest. It's a sloppy jab, possibly a sign that she's starting to get nervous. Still, it's a pretty hard jab, and you manage just barely to swat it away and counter by jabbing her in the stomach with the other end of your halberd. You knock the wind out of her, but she's still standing, and now it looks like she's starting to get a little mad.

She backs up, putting you at spear-length distance and makes several quick thrusts. She's getting faster now, it's hard to keep up.

She's getting careless now, and you're starting to get confident. You use your halberds reach to your advantage, putting some distance between her and you. You dodge or knock aside most of her jabs, and land a few yourself.

Justine disengages one more time, and you can tell she's starting to get tired. It looks like she's starting to realize her anger's making her sloppy, so she takes a deep breath and stands there, waiting for you in a defensive stance.

You feel if you land a good hit, you might be able to end this now. Of course, from the looks of it if she hits you now, it's really going to hurt.

Confident in yourself now that you've gotten this far, you charge forward for a hard jab.

Justine tries to take advantage of your charge and tries to sweep low to trip you. However, she telegraphs her intentions by mistake, and you jump over the sweep, jabbing at her in midair hard enough to knock her off her feet.

You land on top of her, quickly standing back up and pointing the tip of your halberd at her face while she's down. Her spear is currently laying a few feet away from her. She looks over to her spear, looks back up at you standing over her, and sighs.

"Sloppy." she complains. "I got too cocky and got sloppy. Dammit." She doesn't sound mad at you so much as she does at herself.

You offer her a hand. "You just underestimated me is all. I've noticed people tend to do that. For good reason most of the time though."

She takes your hand and you help her get up. She dusts herself off. "I'll admit, you did better than I expected. And when I realized it, I lost my cool and got sloppy, which was stupid of me."

Alright, well that's good. Looks like she's actually starting to warm up some now.

"I won't make that same mistake twice though. Next time, I won't lose."

Oh, well then. Seems when she's not cold and serious she's competitive. Well, it means she thinks your worth competing with, so you'll take that as a compliment for now.

"You did better than expected." Leonard says, stepping in from the side where he'd been watching the whole time. "At least I know where to start now. Tomorrow, we'll get straight to work, but for now I believe our time is up, so you're free to go.

"Hey, Justine, I think I'm going to practice some more with the dummies in my free time. Mind giving me some pointers?"

She raises an eyebrow at the suggestion, but shrugs. "I don't see why not. I was planning to stay and practice anyways."

You head to one of the dummies and practice, this time with Galadriel, switching from weapon to weapon with her while Justine watches and offers advice.

"You're using a polearm, use the reach to your advantage and don't let him get close." "Step in when you swing your sword, it'll add some extra force to the swing." "Widen your stance a bit, the way you're standing now you could trip and fall if he pushes you off balance."

After almost an hour of that, you both decide that's enough practice for the day. You learned a lot of helpful tips from Justine today, you can tell she knows what she's doing.

"Thanks for the advice Justine, I appreciate it."

She shakes her head. "Don't worry about it."

"You seem to know a lot about fighting. Where did you learn?"

"My family." she answers. "My father was a monster hunter, so was my mom. I learned from them, and then after that I learned from experience."

"Your parents were both monster hunters?" You ask. Back in Morsland, you remember seeing a few monster hunters pass through town before. Monster hunters are people who hunt monsters like that Wurm you ran into outside the tower, usually for a bounty. Monsters usually stay away from settlements, but from time to time they show up and start attacking travelers on the roads or small villages if they're bold enough. They're dangerous, and can cause trouble if they hunt close to major roads, so cities sometimes put bounties on troublesome beasts.

Justine nods. "So was I for a time. Eventually though I ended up coming here. Demons and monsters aren't that different really, so I've been here ever since."

You remember the stories you'd heard back in Morsland of 20-foot demons breathing fire on their enemies, and think back to the giant Wurm spewing acid everywhere. "I guess that's true." you say.

It's around this time that everyone else starts to leave, presumably towards the dining hall. Lunch will be starting soon.

Opposed rolls are fucking stupid, if you want to use opposed rolls you may as well just roll a 1d2 to see who wins. You essentially remove any and all skill, ability and planning on our part and say "So you fight this guy with all your abilities and prowess but I'll just let random chance decide the winner because everything you do is meaningless".

Unless you get a really well built system designed specifically around opposed rolls, its a fucking retardedly assinine idea and you would be infinetely better off just using DC's and modifiers as appropriate to take into account skills and such instead of just tossing a coin for the entire fight.

How you think opposed rolls in a quest are a good idea I've no idea but you really should know better.
>>
>>38438853
Would you feel better if QM rolled 3d100 and averaged it and we had the average as our opposed? Or does all opposed roll systems rustle your jimmies?
>>
>>38438853
Rude much.

But you do have a point.

"Looks like lunch is starting soon. Want to eat together?"

She shrugs. "I don't have anything better to do, so sure."

You both make your way to the dining hall, where everyone is lined up trying to get inside. It's extremely crowded trying to get in, you suppose this is probably why a lot of people at breakfast got there early. You keep an eye out for Erika and Daniel, but you don't see them in the crowd. They must have found seats already.

After you both finally squeeze your way into the dining hall, you spot Erika and Daniel sitting at the same table as this morning.

"This way, I see a few of my friends up ahead. Follow me."

You both worm your way through the crowded dining hall over to them, you leading the way. Erika notices you approaching first and starts to wave, but then for some reason she stop and gets some sort of sour look on her face.

"There you guys are." You say, taking a seat. "I was wondering if I'd ever find you guys in the crow-" You trail off, seeing that Justine is still standing and both her and Erika are staring daggers at each other.

"Why are you here Justine?" Erika asks.

"I was about to ask you the same thing." Justine says.

Daniel sits across from you, drinking from his cup sheepishly. Shit, the atmosphere just got pretty tense, the hell is wrong with these two?

>"Am I missing something here?"

>>
>>38438951
I think opposed rolling can work in quests, but it usually takes a lot of effort behind the scenes to make it balanced, though it seems to be working so far with this quest, though one observation I would have about its implementation here is that the modifiers are too small to be meaningful, when the modifier is less than a single degree of success they tend to be meaningless and don't actually modify anything.

no i rather like opposed when you want us to fight good opponents give them a high buff like +40 or something to their rolls to let us know they can fight.
>>
>>38438962
You could say that rolling in general is retarded for a quest if you want anything left up to chance. The best laid plans don't matter if you roll a crit-fail. Opposed rolls are just more random than a DC, any rolling is random so any rolling could be considered hit or miss, 1d2, so unless you dont want any rolling at all, you can deal with the QM having opposed rolls, or let him choose to switch to basic DCs, we just have to play with the cards we are dealt.
>>
>>38438931
>"Am I missing something here?"
>"I'm guessing you two know each other?"
>Start eating.

>>38438995
So you mean when we go up against a good opponent you want us to have no chance at all and to lose constantly? Don't be daft anon, that is a stupid and broken idea that would severely unbalance things even moreso than opposed rolls usually do.
>>
>>38439022
>Opposed rolls are just more random than a DC
Exactly, which is a bad thing in a quest, its a good thing in a RPG, but this is not an RPG...
>>
>>38439042
If you were worried about it being random, you wouldn't want to roll at all.
>>
>>38439052
Thats just retarded and like saying "If you're worried about dying then you should just kill yourself so you don't have to live with it."

Every counter you've raised against my arguments has been more and more stupid.
>>
>>38439081
No, if you are worried about dying you wouldn't do stupid shit that puts you in harm's way, don't be an asshole.

It boils down to "random or not" If you can't handle opposed rolls then you can't handle DCs, deal with what you have, I wouldn't throw a bitch-fit if I was an albino, don't throw a bitch-fit that you cant have "muh-DCs"
>>
>>38439110
>If you can't handle opposed rolls then you can't handle DCs
That makes no sense at all and there is no correlation between those at all. DC's provide that element of randomness and potential to fail while taking into account the combatants abilities, opposed rolls rarely do that without a very carefully constructed system behind them to weight modifiers appropriately.

>I wouldn't throw a bitch-fit if I was an albino, don't throw a bitch-fit that you cant have "muh-DCs"
What the fuck does that even mean? Every post you've made in this discussion has been based on false logic that crumbles apart the moment you even begin to think about it and you just are not even making sense anymore anon.

I can understand if you don't actually know how quest mechanics and systems work and if you have had no experience with them, but trying to equate them to mechanics of TT/PnP RPGs just does not work.
>>
>>38438931
>>38438953
Heh. This
>>
>>38438995
a modifier of +/- 40 is waaay too much without it being really really special circumstances, a range of 10-25ish is much more balanced depending on its application and how appropriate they are for those actions, though 5 doesn't really do a lot, a +/- of say 25 would mean a pretty big situational advantage or disadvantage and even then would be fairly rare without engineering things beforehand to get those bonuses
>>
>>38439168
>That makes no sense at all and there is no correlation between those at all. DC's provide that element of randomness and potential to fail while taking into account the combatants abilities, opposed rolls rarely do that without a very carefully constructed system behind them to weight modifiers appropriately

So Opposed rolls are fine, according to what you just said, perhaps QM is ironing out his system, perhaps you just want everything to be -your- way, then maybe you should run your own quest.

>What the fuck does that even mean?
It means you ignored the point of taking what you have and just enjoying it. And my logic?
>Thats just retarded and like saying "If you're worried about dying then you should just kill yourself so you don't have to live with it."

That is the exact opposite of what you would do if you were afraid of dying.

>I can understand if you don't actually know how quest mechanics and systems work and if you have had no experience with them, but trying to equate them to mechanics of TT/PnP RPGs just does not work.

Fair enough, but that does run on a lot of assumptions.
>>
>>38439234
>That is the exact opposite of what you would do if you were afraid of dying.
And yet is was exactly the kind of logic train you were arguing along.

>So Opposed rolls are fine, according to what you just said
What I said is they can be fine if managed carefully, which like others have said in previous threads, is usually effort and time consuming unless you happen upon a balance that works early on, which thankfully OP seems to be heading towards.

>Fair enough, but that does run on a lot of assumptions.
Not so much assumptions as it is just experience with running both in the past.

I trust OP to find what works for him eventually and to iron out the kinks in his system, he's been doing good so far for what is presumably his first quest, which is a good sign, also helps that his writing is entertaining and he seems pretty level headed, but he can't refine his system if everyone just accepts it and doesn't bother pointing out any flaws it might have.
>>
>>38438931
>>38438953
This, and would the bickering anons just sit down and be quiet and let OP run things already, have some faith anons.

>which thankfully OP seems to be heading towards.

So why complain in the first place? Just go with it.

>Not so much assumptions as it is just experience with running both in the past

No offense, but I am still going to say assumptions, don't know what either of us have been up to, bro.

>doesn't bother pointing out any flaws it might have.

Then you should have started with that constructively, instead of saying it was shit, and he should change it, unless that wasn't you.
>>
Alright, on the topic of rolls, I'm going to make an executive decision in the interest of moving on and say I'm going to stick to opposed rolls, as I feel they add a necessary element of chance to the quest and am not entirely sure how I would handle fights without them, aside from DCs. Maybe later if I feel things aren't working out with the current mechanics I'll switch to DCs or a different type of system, but for now I think I'll stick with opposed rolls for the time being.

In other news, my internet just hit the shitter and I'm posting this from my phone. I will try to fix the Internet real quick but otherwise I guess I'll type the next update on my phone, and try to wrap things up fairly quickly. Sorry for the delay.

That wasn't and I have stated that constructively, several times in the past...

>>38439375
So seeing as we only will ever have one Hero Point, how else will we be able to earn them outside of just only the most badass of actions because we'll rarely be able to earn them, and limiting us to one means we'll go 20 threads without one and get fucked over by critfails until we have the chance to earn another one. A slowly regenerating pool of 2-3 works better while still being scarce enough that can't just throw them around willy nilly.

>>38439598
Oh, well carry on then, and thank you.

"I'm guessing you two know each other?" You ask, getting started on your meal.

"Sadly, yes." Erika says curtly. "What is she doing here anyways?"

"I just came here because he invited me." Justine says, pointing at you. "Had I known you'd be here, I wouldn't have."

"So then why don't you just leave?"

"Why, do you want me to?"

"Obviously."

"Then I think I'll stay instead." Justine says, sitting next to you with a smug smile. Oh boy, this isn't going to end well, but you keep eating anyways.

"So how exactly do you two know each other?" You ask innocently, focusing pretty intently on your food."

"She's just mad because she lost the last time we sparred. And the time before that." Justine says.

"No, I don't like you because you were a bitch about it." Erika says angrily.

"You kept charging at me like a dumbass. All I did was tell you the truth, even gave you some friendly advice, but you got all huffed up about it."

"'You swing like an ogre that's been dropped on it's head' is NOT friendly."

"But it was accurate."

"How about I show you just how I swing right now?"

"Go ahead and try."

"MAN, this food is fucking delicious." You say loudly. "How does Gunther do it?"

The people nearby who are watching chuckle at your sudden declaration. Erika and Justine however don't seem to pay attention to you, too busy bickering at each other.

"Fine then, let's fight right here and now then."

"Alright then you bi-"

"Seriously, you two should try this stuff, it's amazing." You cut them off, grabbing two turkey legs from one of the platters and shoving them in their mouths. The people watching start laughing hysterically, including Daniel who nearly spits out his drink.

"There now, see? Now sit down and eat, there's plenty here." You continue, putting a hand on their shoulders and gently pushing them back into their seats. Their faces, still holding the turkey legs, look absolutely dumbfounded. Not angry, not upset, just confused, like they have no idea how to react to this. You're sure you'll come to regret your actions later, but for now you're content to laugh with everyone else and continue eating. You weren't joking when you said the food was fucking good.

>>38440145

Not to resurrect a dead argument, but our current opposed roll system is heavily biased in our favour, given that we roll three dice whereas our opponent only rolls one.
So, you might want to change this around a little, so bandits would roll one or two dice, similarly skilled fighters to us would roll three and Andras might roll four or five.
>>
>>38440240
The rest of lunch passes peacefully, as both Justine and Erika eat in confused silence. You can't tell if that means they still don't know how to react, or if they're planning ways to hurt you later for embarrassing them. Eventually though, people begin to file out of the dining hall and Daniel stands.

"Well, this was certainly an eventful meal. But now it is time to continue your training. Come with me Siegfried, I shall be your instructor for today. Erika, Justine, I believe the two of you have training as well, yes?"

Justine nods. "Right, I should go do that..." She says, still confused as she heads her own way.

"Yeah, same." Erika says, starting to leave as well. When she gets halfway to the door, however, she comes back punches you hard in the arm. "That's for embarrassing me, but thanks for stopping me before I did something stupid."
