>Summary:
You are Heracor Nahive, techpriest working as an escort for the mighty Commissar Oihan Alzador and currently in the Death World of Plinia Vesus to mitigate the riots and disturbs that the thousands of prisoners destined there are creating and secretly to avoid the uprising of an ancient and incredibly powerful Khorne Bloodthirster.

You wake up as they are going to assign the teams and brief the mission and objectives. Before falling asleep you didn't noticed how cramped the train was and how different all those Skitarius are.

The leader Kontarus is wearing a Cameleoline poncho over his armor and his hood. It not only hides him from sight but also covers the multiple weapons that he ports on himself.

“We are going to explore some tunnels that might connect the entire planet, if this were true that would mean that the prisons are not isolated but in fact linked and that would compromise the safety of us all. I know that most of you don’t really care about this backwater planet but we are not simple humans. Machines work even in the hardest environments and we as priests of the Omnissiah we have to work and do our best even in the worst places.”

A small petite and child looking girl stood up on his seat.

“Why do we have to explore those tunnels, if there isn't anything related with STC’s it isn't our duty.”

“We believe that there might be heretic techpriests who have been hiding in those tunnels for 200 years without any supervision nor regards towards the Machine god. There are several hints of them creating weapons without any kind of regulation or even doing banned human experimentation. It is our duty to end with them.”

There were some murmurs around with a hint of mechanical voxes among them.

“I have done two teams. Team Bequerel and Team Roentgen. They will be both composed of six persons”
Kontarus then proceeded to explain the teams:
>>
>>38396366
>Team Bequerel:

-Three-Ess: A thin and faceless sniper with lots of lenses on what once was its face. It has three sets of arms and it seems to be able to climb anywhere to shoot. It uses a long sniper rifle. Good spotter and sniper, kind of a loner.

-The Flamesword: Skitarii that came from a feudal world got adopted when discovered it affinity with the machines. Uses a greatsword with a flamer attached to it. He’s really big and strong. Wears a spiky crown made from the fragments of the sword he used before becoming a member of the AdMech. Really Zealous.

-Grillidae: Female Skitarii with piston powered legs, a maglev device and a jet-pack. Works as a scout and has a shotgun to defend herself. Impulsive but really useful, way too noisy when it comes to stealth.

- Hippocraticus: Medic specialized on amputations. He’s equipped with several saws and medical instruments. It is noteworthy that he was a field medic before becoming a skitarii so he still carries his white medic coat over his red robes.

The last two members were he and me.
>>
>>38396375
> Team Roentgen:

-Phlogiston: A small skitarii with an incinerator almost twice her size. People have rumors about her being a failed SoB member who became crippled in the trials and joining the AdMech after receiving so many bionics. The one who stood up to question Kontarus

-Frigus Ferrum: Uses a power fist and a shield. Pretty cocky. Claims to have gotten his fist from Medusa, the homeworld from the Iron Hands chapter.

-Algernop Krieger: “Medic” Specialized in bionics and cloning He doesn’t heals but stops and stabilizes wounds. If the person is way too damaged he just gets genetic material for posterior cloning. Looks completely human yet there is something unnerving coming from him.

-Eswarm: Personally Eswarm is a pretty weak skitarii. It is in her brain its real strength. With her fly a small group of servoskull dotted with different weapons that she can mentally link and control. Not a lot of people could control so many skulls at the same time with such grace.

-Cato Endicus: A wide shouldered vanguard that uses a grappling hook to scout and travel. Also makes uses of explosives and temporal invisibility device to sabotage different vehicles or buildings. Also carries a hellgun.

-Keneally: A tall and well armored man. Uses a heavy bolter and it is usually the first one to rush against an enemy.

“As you could have noticed team Roentger is more focused on battling. This is because they are already used to encountering enemies and are veterans. They will be the vanguard and the first ones to enter.”

With this said we were given some more time to rest or meet each other.

>Meet your team.

You stood up and walked towards them, most of them did the same as this was their first mission.

Three-Ess continued seating and looking idle through the window and practically ignoring the rest. She was wearing a black and sleek armor with nothing flashy or characteristic with the exception of her helmet, that was totally smooth and had eight purple circles that acted like lenses for her to see in almost a 360º radius.

"I am honoured to fighte with you all" Said Flamesword with a surprisingly deep yet human voice and a soft bow. "I do hope that we will defeat the foul enemie that awaites us. The Emperor Protects."

Some other members that originated from more technologically evolved worlds looked at him funny from the way he spoke and his apparently antiquated manners.

Grillidae couldn't stay quiet. If her legs stopped they could risk becoming way too dry and getting rusty. They needed constant movement to stay oiled and that generated a noise that drive some people mad.

"People call me Grillidae, I like to run and jump to see what the enemies are doing, then run back and inform of all that I saw. It's pretty exciting!"

"Have you never fought the enemie while running?" Asked Flamesword kinda surprised of her being a Skitari since from his point of view she wasn't a true warrior.

"Warp yes I did. That's why this lil bugger comes with me!" She says showing him her great shotgun. "In fact I have found the enemy a pretty good number of times, I could always jump away thought."

"G-good evening. My name is Hippocraticus but you can just call me doc or medic. I hope I will never have to work on any of you..." Says he kinda shyly, even scared.

Since they all already knew the leader and the sniper just ignored us I was the next one.

"Greetings. I am Heracor. I don't really think of myself as a really strong warrior but I aim to become thoughter. I fight using a chainsword and a twin-linked lasgun."
>>
>>38396564
You weren't really original nor noteworthy but you did your task efficiently. With your short speech you said everything they could need to know after all.

"I think I have seen you back when we were in the Cruiser. Weren't you the one who almost burned down all the fighting arena?" Suddenly asked the mysterious sniper Three-Ess

"Y-yes" You end admitting even if it was more and accident than true destruction on your part.

Some of them didn't believed you, others asked for more information but you feel kinda anxious and ended telling them to ask her and that you would explain it some other day.

With that said you returned to your designated seat and tinkered with your weapons and items before falling again to sleep.

When you woke up your HUD's clock said that and hour and a half passed. The train was almost reaching its destination. MegaPrison 02 was visible in the horizon.

You looked around and saw some other asleep techpriest but most were not present. Unable to sleep anymore you started to think what to do in the hour left.

>Try to find the other Skitarius.

Let's find them. You have nothing better to do after all.

As you advance you find more empty train cars, some have equipment and machines, others vehicles or seat but none has any person in there. Is it when you are about to return to your seat when you hear it. A loud thump coming from the ceiling.

You exit the car and climb up, Flamesword and Frigus Ferrum are dueling. Flamesword's blade impacts repeatedly against Ferrum's shield and when he has the chance parries with his fist. Some other Skitarius are looking at the battle in other wagons.

"What is happening?" You ask to Grillidae as you slowly yet steadily advance towards her with the use of your magnetic soles.

"Oh, don't worry, it isn't a true fight. Frigus dared Flamesword to hit him once on the chest. He hasn't been able so far."

You sat next to her and saw the passing clouds and metallic comm towers as the two classed strongly. It looked like something really hazardous but the few times Flamesword lost his balance and was in risk of falling Frigus quickly grabbed him and pushed him back into safety.

It was honestly something really admirable to see. Both of those men were servants and priests of the machine god yet they fought using primitive techniques and manners. It was beautiful in its own mode.

After about five more minutes Flamesword swallowed his pride and admitted that he couldn't hit him.

"You did well Flamesword, you have impressed me. The Omnissiah is lucky of having a warrior like us fighting for it."

The two bowed and shook hands. Then the defeated one returned inside.

"Is there anybody who would like to challenge me?" Yelled Frigus at everybody who was up there.

>Accept. There isn't a true risk after all.
>Wait for somebody else to accept.

>Accept. There isn't a true risk after all.

"I do." You say ready to fight against the giant who towered over you.

"Same challenge. Manage to hit me and you will gain my respect. Only close combat weapons, no grenades nor lasers. You have until we reach the Prison..."

You give your lasgun to the excited Grillidae who then shoots it accidentally, she then just laughs it off when you look at her kinda angry.

The chainsword revs in your hands, it seems that its machine spirit was already bored and impatient to be used already. You keep your hidden sword sheathed, it might be the weapon that leads you to victory.

"Show him what you got!" Yells Kontarus.

Your foe stands with his legs separated and his shield raised, ready to stop anything that you send him. His power fist starts vibrating and glowing.

The first thing you do is try to hit his shield with your sword, see the kind of resistance it gives. As the blades impact the polished surface thousands of sparks fly on both sides. He doesn't even flinches and no matter how hard you push, you cannot move him. After a few minutes later you stop to see the results.

There is no damage on the shield, the blades of your chainsword are now somewhat damaged after such continuous and effortless use...

You still have about thirty more minutes before reaching and automatically losing.

Rolled 88 (1d100)

Alrighty. Basically, the main things we should try are:
- Using our dendrites to grab his shield and throw him off balance or force an opening
- Use our hidden blade for the final blow

Thus I think we should attempt:
- Hold our chainsaw in our hidden blade arm, then at the crux of it all switch it to our other one. Hopefully he'll think we were holding back all zorro style and we go for a massive telegaphed strike with it.
- That's when we jab in with the hidden blade
- If he's got a storm shield and a powerfist then this guy's gonna be heavy. Might need to activate our magboots to steady ourselves when trying to toss him about with the dendrites

- It's possible we might be able to use our hidden blade as a power weapon to hold back his powerfist, then go for a strike with the chainsaw?
>>
>>38397172
> Using our dendrites to grab his shield and throw him off balance or force an opening

In the last thread the dendrites were modified. They don't have claws anymore and now they are unable to grab anything.

You might want to change your plant.

*whimpers quietly*

Allllrighty then.
Firstly, I forgot to mention using our targeting system to assist in switching our chainsaw from one hand to the other.

Thoughts in no particular order:
- Proxy drone dendrite is said to have a robotic claw - can we use this for grappling the shield at all or is it too delicate?
- Explorator dendrite has a lux caster - might be able to use this in conjunction with the flashing eye trick if necessary

- Finally, if we want to get reckless then we might be able to use our electoos to channel the aura of his powerfist and land some overwhelming blow on his shield and stagger him.

Possibly a better way to bypass his shield:
- Magboot ourselves to a wall and reach in over the shield
- If he raises it to defend, release mag and jump over him, go for a hit to the back
- Failing that maybe just mag one foot to the floor and give him a solid kick to the shield and see if we can't get him to stumble

Hopefully someone will pick over these ideas and we can form a coherent plan from them

>Proxy drone dendrite is said to have a robotic claw - can we use this for grappling the shield at all or is it too delicate?
It is a work tool, and used on deceased human heads, couldn't work as a weapon nor to grab something heavy.

>Explorator dendrite has a lux caster - might be able to use this in conjunction with the flashing eye trick if necessary
This might work. A + 50 roll would mean success.

>Finally, if we want to get reckless then we might be able to use our electoos to channel the aura of his powerfist and land some overwhelming blow on his shield and stagger him.
This while possible would have to be done really quick. A +70 roll would mean success.

>Magboot ourselves to a wall and reach in over the shield
As I said there are comm towers passing. He might end hitting one if it does and the walls are mostly crystal windows so...way too risky. A +90 roll to succeed it.

>If he raises it to defend, release mag and jump over him, go for a hit to the back
While possible have in mind that they are on a moving train. Could end going way too far away with the jump if he is not careful. +60 roll to succeed.

>Failing that maybe just mag one foot to the floor and give him a solid kick to the shield and see if we can't get him to stumble
The guy is a Iron Hands weeaboo. It isn't impossible but yes very hard. + 70 roll to succeed.

Your feet vibrate as you run towards him and charge negatively your mag boots, you suddenly feel yourself floating over him and activating the boots again to attract yourself to the metallic roof.

Several electrical whips form from your soles and connect with the ground as you fall quickly. The impact is big and loud and even with the strength of the magnets acting as an anchor you slide some feet sending more orange sparks as you move.

Smoke forms and ascends under your soles and you have scratched the paint with your grinding.

You activate it once again and try to stay locked on the floor while kicking him. Sadly your feet never reaches his shield since your jump and posterior sliding moved you way too far away.

With boot feet liberated and free to move you try to jump towards his power fist to suck the energy out of it and leave him unable to parry but your arms encounter the hard surface of his shield and you are knocked down on the ground.

You spin on your axis as fast as you can, your arms and even your dendrites push to give you acceleration.

As your foot is about to impact his thickly armored leg you once again activate the magnets giving you a extra little push, the instant they contact you reverse the poles and create a magnetic repulsion that sends you two far apart.

The feet that gave the kick is now red hot and you slightly limp when walking.

Ignoring the pain you run and hop on his big chest, he expects you to hit him with your chainsword and tries to defend himself with his fist but to his surprise from your other hand a blade unsheathes in a ejecting manner only to stop a inch away from his throat.

Several seconds passed like that with most people awestruck from what happened, the own defeated foe was the most surprised one as he never thought this would happen.

Then the train reached its destination. You won.

"I do admit my defeat, Heracor."

He helped you stand up as you were still limping slightly.

"Do not worry. It is just the machine spirit who is tired, you will be able to walk again soon"

Manus reasured you.

"Magus Skitarius Kontarus I would like to ask for a exchange. I think this recruit could fit in your team."

The people started descending and moving all the equipment out. You tried to walk away but the defeated giant forced you to stay with him.

"He has potential yes, but I'm not sure...Besides. The Drills only accept six people, there wouldn't be space for him."

"What about Krieger? He could be moved to Team Bequerel. There is never enough medics with the freshbloods."

"While I would really enjoy and learn from fighting among such great warriors I do believe that there has to be at least one medic in each team to increase the chances of survival to a maximum." You answer, after thinking the answer for some minutes.,

Kontarus nods slightly and agrees. "You are right."

Frigus places his non gloved hand on your shoulder. It feels heavy but you are able to stand it.

"I hope we can have a rematch some day, Skitarii."

After a short reverence he descended in a jump that shook the ground and sent a couple of servitors helplessly to the ground. Then he started grabbing boxes and unloading them.

With your feet still somewhat limp you had no other option but to descend using the stairs. Once in the ground the Medic Hippocraticus asked how you felt.

"I'm good, don't worry." You said giving him a pleasant relief.

Soon everything was unloaded and the train returned back to the HQ.

"Team Roentgen get in the vehicle and enter in the designated point Zero-Alpha-Three. Team Bequerel you will stay with me and explore the rubble. Let's see if we find something interesting. After two hours I want you all in the rendezvous point."

Grillidae seems like a good option to explore this kind of environment. She can jump high and even fly short periods of time.

"Scout Grillidae, would you like to explore with me?"

"Of course fighting master! But don't expect me to wait for you with your slow legs!"

She then though that grabbing and jumping with her legs and her jetpack on full power was a good idea. You two flew high enough to see everything, including the destroyed AdMech Cathedral.

"Awww, shucks." She says as we descend faster and faster only to stop in the last second and creating a whirling of white and black dust.

In front of you two the severely damaged temple. As you open the big door this starts creaking and then falls apart almost crushing you in the process. From its interior there isn't nothing but darkness.

There were once thousands of lights coming from inside, machines of all kinds controlling the movements and behavior of both the prisoners and the guards but now all those spirits were either dead or abandoned.

Your companion decided to jump and explore the upper levels. You would have to explore the first floor and the many possible basements that it had...
>>
>>38399629

The lux caster of your explorator dendrite and your own lenses illuminate the dark place but the reach of the light is limited and there are many obscured zones that enlightened ones. When you entered in the other Cathedral the techpriests were quick enough to set traps for possible scavengers and you were kinda scared of those doing the same there. But that wasn't what scared you most.

What terrified you truly was that if it was true that there were heretic works in those labs they could still be alive and attack you at any moment. Who know what kind of aberrant beast could jump at any moment to hunt you down.

After some exploring you discovered some bodies and a lab. There were also some stair that descended towards a dark place but you didn't wanted to go alone.

The bodies once belonged to techpriest minds. They are burned beyond recognition and its hard to say if they were killed in the explosion or died before of it. Your knowledge about the topic isn't good enough, maybe the medic could discover more.

Some of them still carry tools on their arms. It is hard to say if the explosion caught them by surprise or if they knew what was to come and wanted to die with their favorite working instrument.

If those techpriests were alive the moment the explosion happened that could meant that this prison was able to instruct new techpriest or that the ones who were there somehow survived long enough. Dammit, now you have more questions than answers.

Walking to the lab might help you getting your mind more clear.

The few working machinery or tables that aren't destroyed show that they were doing pretty mundane work. Creating bionics and general reparation. Besides the prisoner told you that they knew how to create those weapons themselves.

Maybe the priests desperate of help shared their knowledge with them...

"Do you copy, Grillidae?"

"I hear you. Anything down there?"

"Burned bodies and nothing noteworthy. There are also some stairs you might want to see. What about you?"

"There are living quarters in there, mostly destroyed. There are a few guns but didn't dared to try them, Only the Omnissiah truly knows how does the machine spirit in them feel."

She did good, after such a long slumber weapons could be in such a rage state that they might explode when awakened, specially plasma weapons.

"Can you bring the weapon down there?"

"Yeah, I think I do. This looks heavy thought."

Next thing you heard was her slowly grunting has she grabbed the weapon and tried to descend with it. As she jumped down part of the ground collapsed and she ended losing her balance.

Grillidae managed to activate her jetpack before free falling but she still hit hard against the floor. On her arms she had clutched the weapon.

You quickly used your skills and bionics to check if she was alive. She was but her left leg broke down in the descent. She would need to repair them to walk properly.

"Hippocraticus, Heracor calling from the ruined AdMech cathedral. Do you copy?" You said worried and in a rushed manner.

"Yes, YES! What's wrong?"

"Grillidae damaged one of her bionic legs when part of the building collapsed. She's alive but I need you to check her out."

"I'm on my way. BEEP"

Good. After that you checked what was she carrying. It looked like a plasma rifle yet had parts and cylinders that you weren't able to recognize. It was longer than the models you were able to glimpse so far and even if heavy you were able to hold and manage to move with it pretty easily.

Chanting your best litanies you turned it on in excitement. Its coils turned lime green and the cylinders started agitating and glowing in the same color. It emanated a powerful heat and it seemed that its destructive power was even more incredible.

Its why we're here, to find evidence and convince the bosses. That and if we wanted to keep this secret we would need to kill two... no probably everyone.
>>
>>38400442
>>When the medic comes go and tell the leader about it.
>Also tell him your a blank so you can examine it without issue. Figuring out how this was done would be useful. If it's tech heresy we can make ways to break it and know what to look out for, if it isn't well better weapon to destroy foes is always a good thing.
>>

>Free action.
Test it on some rubble first. To get the hang of it.
>>
>>38400511
Plus what do we get out of it if we do screw over everyone to get the weapon a not-necron plasmagun which is too heavy and will definitely explode on us?
>>
>>38400546
No, It gets hot is a scary rule!
>>38400526
Why would we tell others we're a blank? Potentially contentious information, and really has nothing to do with tech heresy unless the weapon is full on possesed.
>>

There's bits we don't recognise so the simple fact of the matter is that there's a chance it's tech heresy.

I'm not sure if that precludes us testing it, but hanging onto it without permission will only end in tears.

>Try and examine it with various filters (eg xray) to build up a rudimentary understanding of it's internal workings so that we may be able to replicate it's technologies soemtime down the line
>Do this whilst waiting for the medic, then go tell the leader about it

Ten minutes passes until he comes to us. Grillidae continues unconscious but still breathes.

"Keep her safe. I need to meet Kontarus. Where is he?" You ask him.

"He's looking the intact living block. He's on the upper floors. Is everything ok?"

With a nervous nod you exit and head towards the building. It is easy to spot since it highlights from its height compared with the rest of the building. The hard thing was reaching it since the rubble made a labyrinth of irregular paths that was hard to cross.

It took you over thirty minutes until you reached him. Only one more hour before we left into the hole.

"Kontarus! I-I have been looking for you."

He was kinda distracted looking at some picto images of a family.

"Oh? Where is your companion?"

"She is...safe. This is why I came here for." You showed him the weapon and how it glowed when turned on "It was found in the ruins of the Mechanicus Cathedral. I would like to know if it contains...tech heresy"

Those last two words got stuck on your throat and were hard to pronounce for you.

"It's ok. Let me see it."

He removed his poncho and his bionic arms divided in two forming in total four lithe arms with three fingered hands. He quickly analyzed the weapon and weighted it, looked every inch and detail.

"I will need more time to reach a conclusion. If I am not wrong you know how to drive the drill. What if you descend and start igniting the engines uh?"

He said with a weird glint in his eyes. Maybe he was hiding something, maybe so many heretical things were affecting your mind.

>Do as he says.
>Go somewhere else and spy him in the distance.
>Return to the cathedral.

>Do as he says.

He is your leader, our leader. And he has never been cruel nor suspicious so far. Maybe you are just paranoid.

Descending you pass across dozens of empty rooms and habitaculums that not long ago were filled with the "citizens" of that MegaPrison. It is kinda sad how those rooms look alive, as if people had been in there not long ago yet they are surrounded by death everywhere.

Once on the ground you slowly walk and look back to the building one last time. Shaking your head and reminding yourself that there is nothing to worry about you slowly get into the drill and start heating its engines.

You liked being there. It feel safe and comfy, besides having such a powerful machine made you feel kinda linked with the Omnissiah.

After a hour the engines and everything was ready and double checked. Someone knocked on the door waiting for you to open it.

The spider like sniper was the first one to enter. She seemed to be wanting to end the mission as soon as possible. While the rest came you tried to talk with her.

"So...Sniper. What made you specialize in that?"

She looked at you and then looked elsewhere again. There was no answer from her. Not even a binary one coming from her glowing eyes. Then, she spoke.

"I like to be alone."

Her voice was soft and beauty, kinda young sounding. After some seconds you answered, trying to make her feel more comfortable.

"Don't we all?"

She answered with a shrug that raised her three pairs of shoulders. The other members came soon after that. Kontarus was the last one getting inside.

"Team Roentgen hasn't found anything yet. The crystal walls don't resonate well with the radio waves so communication might be hard or even impossible. Seems abandoned so far so the risk should be minimum."

The first hundred feet are easy to cross. Then the tunnel becomes more narrower and the crystal surrounding it more fragile. As we advance we can hear the sound of slow crushing and grinding crystals around us.

It is a pretty eerie sound but after some minutes were nobody talks and just listens we reach an underground cave.

The monitors show lava cascades around us but there is a rock bridge that we can cross. There isn't any detection of anything weird so far. Looking back for a while lets me see that they all seem more relaxed.

"Continue two miles and you will find another tunnels. That's our meeting point."

They were really lucky of not knowing what the monitors said. The bridge was irregular and meandering. It had many curves and descends. My hands were shaking the entire time I drove it.

It took me one half hour to reach the destination but I finally made it. The bridge ended in a rock base surrounded by lava and with a mountain that connected with the ceiling in the center. The other drill was waiting for us and its passengers outside.

After turning off the engine we all went down.

"There are three tunnels sir. One descends even deeper, possibly under the lava level. The other goes upwards, maybe even to the surface. The drone sent to the third tunnel didn't returned." Reported Cato Endicus.

"I'm not good making choices...hell how did I even became the leader. You got any better idea, driver?"

Said he looking at me.

>Tunnel that goes up.
>Tunnel that goes down.
>Third tunnel.

I'm sorry guys but I am really tired so I'll end it for today. I'll stay awake for another 30 minutes so feel free as always to send asks, suggestions and such.

I don't understand this last thing. Sorry English becomes harder for me when I'm sleepy.
>>
>>38402344
How deep in the shit are we?
>>
>>38402395
You guys are in some tunnels were communication doesn't work reliably.

There is lava fucking everywhere.

It is pretty much sure that there are hereteks and chaos fuckers roaming too.

The Inquisitor hates us.

Plus there is the chance of the ascended chaos chosen Noctum searching for the MC.

Did I forgive anything?

Shit...In the description I put techmarine instead of thecpriest
>>
>>38403230
Also, in regard to last thread where you were talking about desert beasts in that space marine order, why not camels?
>>
>>38403362
Personally I'd go with giant scarabs.
>>
>>38403501
But what would crazy hassan do?
>>
>>38403501
Scarabs can fly. Scarabs can have mounted weapons. Scarabs can spit acid and eat enemies.
>>
>>38403575
You can mount weapons on camels if you try hard enough, and space marines can also spit acid and eat enemies.
>>
>>38403608
ergo space marines are scarabs
>>
Could a camel really carry a SM?
