I am actually writing a quest and I recently added a Space Marine character from a chapter that has barely any info on it. What if we use the tables to get him some more lore to work with?

First roll is: Why Was The Chapter Founded? (d10)

Also, the chapter: http://warhammer40k.wikia.com/wiki/Heralds_of_Vengeance
>>
Rolled 2 (1d10)

Wohu dice rolling!
>>
>Chapter Name:
Heralds of Vengeance.
>Reason of founding:
Strategic Prognostication - "Our tarot cards say there's going to be a threat here, maybe. Found a Chapter!"

Next roll is: When Was The Chapter Founded? (d100)
>>
Rolled 93 (1d100)

>"Our tarot cards say there's going to be a threat here, maybe. Found a Chapter!"
That seems strangely appropiate
>>
>>38326862
>Chapter Name:
Heralds of Vengeance.
>Reason of founding:
Strategic Prognostication
>Chapter Foundation:
41st Millenium

So a newly formed chapter created by superstition. Seems like a good start!

Next roll is: Who was the Chapter's Progenitor? (d100)
>>
Rolled 20 (1d100)

It fits pretty well because he might fight them in the future. Choose a warband, Chapter, or Traitor Legion

Well the protagonist is a techpriest. There are some parts of himself that there are still unknown and there is a techpriest generator. Wanna fill the gaps with more dice rolling?

Was thinking more in the line of:
What are their beasts?
Whats their cult like?
Why are they so few? etc.
but i'm allways up for rolling dice
>>
>>38327660
>What are their beasts?
Well they are desert beast. I was thinking something along the line of the worms of dune If you have a better idea do tell.

>Whats their cult like?
Says that it is esoteric and weird. Maybe they think that the Universe is alive. That the Emperor it's his mind and soul. That the citizens are blood cells and the warriors and astartes are the white cells. That the xenos are illnesses and that chaos...is a cancer.

>Why are they so few?
In the quest I mentioned that their name "Heralds of Vengeance" is pretty literal and that when a battle brother or their chapter or another chapter they have fought with has a dishonorable death they avenge him.

They might be pretty suicidal when trying to do those revenges.
>>
>>38327731
> I was thinking something along the line of the worms of dune If you have a better idea do tell.
Was thinking more along the line of giant lizards.
Seem to be more usefull of world.

As for the Cult, I say take something fitting for desert nomads, as that is most likely what they are recruiting from...

Yeah small elite might be fitting?

I was picturing them like kind of like Arab Horesback archers.
>>
>>38327805
The Arabs were all into the starts and such. What if they believed that they can see the future in the stars?

They are specialized in ranged. What about smaller lizards that could stick to walls and ceilings with snipers. And bigger more armored lizards that carried assault and devastator units.
>>
>>38327887
Whould only make sense,
especially given the reason for their founding and their friendship with the Adeptus Astra Telepatica.
Astropath belong to that right?(i'm a filthy casual)
>>
>>38327997
Astropaths are the people who can send and receive mensajes thru the warp. They are basically the way of FTL communication.

Maybe astropaths can hear thousands of whispers and residual messages that float in the inmaterium and they like to share them with the Marines since those are the few persons who are interested in the stars and space as they are.
>>
Can my chapter only be armed with multimeltas?

Yknow in case they have to fight more than 1 flyrant?
>>
>>38328214
It's your chapter, do whatever you want with it.
Whould suck at range though.
>>
>>38328230
Hey man. I have uploaded it to the archive and mentioned you on the quest twitter. Thanks for your help!
