Magic elves end up being teleported to our world. Slice of life between human cop and his elven rookie coworker/girl friend.

A series of gates open across north america and europe, and out come elves. How does society copes with the return of magic, another humanoid race, the "we are not alone!" thing, racism when the others really are not human, and lots of pointy ears and d'aww. We dont have a lot of action, we are mostly a SoL storyquest than a standard quest. I run a more standard quest on thurs and fri, so this one is where we chill and just have fun seeing our two protagonists, a stiff but honest cop from a small city in michigan, and a elf girl out of a fantasy/stone age workd, go about their daily lives together.

well looks like we only got 2 people, which is understandable since its the wrong day. How about we just talk about ideas for the future then?

I was in the middle of some serious pain lastnight when inspiration hit: Why not have their puppy be female, and name it Stella? I dont think we talked about the mutts gender.

Anyway, on a more serious note, I was thinking about having someone break into the community's clinic to steal elf blood, leading to... well there's really no end to the number of people who could be guilty of wanting elf blood, is it? from labs to fetichists.
>>
>>38243763
I like the dog idea.
If you could easily build up a plot around the elf blood thing, too, than it looks like it would be a good mystery.

The other quest? its about making fun of all the old console RPGs and JRPGs tho, so its mostly about trying to insert as many jokes, memes and references as possible per thread without going derpy about it.

To begin with, the MC is a (former) fa/t g/uy who dies on post one of thread one, and then is reborn into an RPG-like workd, so we are going through his life on an almost day by day basis. He's currently 14 and he's only just starting to get lewd with a girl 3 years older than him, so the lewd is actually pretty cute.

Also, it took about a 6 months of real time for there to be lewd, I think? I don't plan on having it on screen much. Lots of teasing tho, since our character has the memories of his former life so inside he's arguably a 29 years old.

That's not to say we don't have lewd jokes, tho. We actually did picture related as a scene and its a "thing" in game
>>
>>38243839
btw, it was a chess joke. Our MC was playing chess with a elf princess and she was just staring at the board because she couldnt "move" in front of him

He does, but I am not sure on his attitude about it. He did help them a lot and he thinks highly of him, but she's his baby. Or maybe elves don't really care about others relationships, even those of close relatives, so he may have a "not my business" attitude.

Im not sure if I want them to be really alien about a few things, or more human-like.

If they're Tolkienesque he has probably robbed the cradle since no talk of marriage has taken place in a more serious sense.

Also does Ellie have any elf friends jealous of her big prince charming?
>>
>>38244852
Eh, tolkien elves were perfect, completely flawless snowflakes writen based on his vision and morals, so yeah, for them it would be serious business.

These elves are more feral, I think. Came out from a hunter/gatherer society so such "values" may not be a thing with them.

Actually makes me wonder if Ellie would be surprised by the concept of marriage.

Anyway since it seems like we aren't playing today so much as just throwing ideas around, im gonna go prepare some noddles (with nothing) to try to get over my stomach ache.

If you discount the fact that they weren't able to move beyond this world. Every time they died they simply "respawned" instead of going to a true afterlife. In that respect, being elf was suffering.

I'm more wondering who's gonna be the first humie to manage a spell. We got all kinds of systems of how we think magic should work. I'm thinking someone sees elves, things if elves then magic, then starts pouring through every system in both fiction and occultism until he finally hits the sweet spot somehow.

Dear god I can see it now, some 30 year old fa/tg/uy in his basement gets the job done and starts selling how-to guides on the street corner. Then it hits the internet. Oh man, talk about disruptive technology. That's basically free energy hitting the market. Awesome, but a LOT of people are gonna suddenly find themselves out of work and elites without a vital control mechanism. This puppy is just waiting to explode into chaos.

Worst case scenario is the three kinds of people I hope never meet, meet and do something we'd all regret. I don't wanna have to found a Holy Order and lead a friggin' Crusade, but magic might make that happen!

Sorry it took so long, I share a floor and the kichen was disgusting. I just washed and put away everything and then got into an argument with the pigs about how now "they couldnt find anything".

"it's not your room. That's almost a valid argument when its about your room, not for places we all use" was my argument, but apparently im a fag because i like a clean kitchen. Its summer, it was already full of flies. If we left it that way, it would get full of roaches.

Anyway...
***

"No, Stella, don't do that!" -laughed Ellie gently

The small puppy tried to climb up Ellie's chest to lick at her face as they played in the living room's rug.

"You already gave it a name?" -asks Cedric from the kitchen as he picks a low bowl to fill with dog food and another with water
"Her, yes"

"How come everyone talks to pets and babies as if they could understand us?" -Cedric places the bowls by the kitchen's door and goes into the living room
"You think they can't?" -Ellie gives him a look
"I... don't think so? You mean it understands you?"
"Sure, it's a canine, right?"
"That's amazing, can you talk to other animals?"
"No, just canines"
"Uhmm.. well, I guess that's amazing enough. Can you tell it to poop in the newspaper I placed by the rear door? also, these are its food and water"
"Sure"

Cedric crouches down and then sits next to Ellie, and the puppy decides exploring and licking at his face looks like a fun thing to do, wagging its tiny tail as it does so.

"Ah, are we going to play vid-e-o-games tonight?"
"No, I don't want to get my ass kicked again" -he gently scritches at the puppy's back while leaning over and kissing Ellie
"Aww... but the kicking of your butt it's fun!" -she says in between kisses
"So, this is what its like to have a girlfriend who can beat you at videogames"

Oh no, real men do cook. You may not be able to afford to go a vacation, but if you can give her a good tour of the world through cuisine you're gonna get laid. Just saying, the sous chef doesn't have many problems with getting someone to polish his pole. Same for the females, people like people who cook for them. Even if you suck, the mere gesture never really hurts your chances unless you give them food poisoning. If you can't cook, keep it simple, hard to fuck up chicken noodle soup or a quick stir fry.

Filthy house? That's a red flag for both sexes. If they can't even take care of their own house, how can you expect them to take care of your own wants and needs? Might not matter short term, but the instant the other sees that their expectations of a working long term relationship justifiable go down by a lot. Get it clean or your significant other will dump your ass like a rock once someone richer or better looking comes knocking.

She did eventually manage to kick his ass at Mario Kart, anyway. That blue shell has ruined so many friendships...

Come morning, they took Stella with them to jog, albeit the small puppy ended up being carried after a little while.

Once they went back home and left Stella sleeping on the living room's rug, they made their way to work, greeted the sergeant, and went out on the patrol.

It had not been an hour before they got a call from the sergeant and head over to the elven community's clinic. Someone had broken in during the night.

As they arrive, they find that the clinic is... well, it would be more correct to say Cedric notes. It is much better equipped than what a clinic for a small community would normally be.

The government, corporations, and all sorts of private individuals have made donations of not only expensive, specialized equipment, but also staff and man hours so that they can study the new arrivals.

"You know... I think I saw one of these scans in a HOUSE episode once..." -Cedric looks at the massive thing with some interest as they go into the back room of the clinic.
"On that te-vee thing?"
"Right."

The staff tell you that blood, medicine, syringes and needles are missing from the storage room.

Sure enough, one of the shelves had its door smashed in then ripped out with heavy tools (the cut in the metal was obviously not done by hand), and the glass on the refrigerator unit for the blood was broken.

Nobody saw anything, of course, and there are no cameras, for the patients privacy.

"Syringes?"
"You remember how you got several injections after the whole thing with the national guard?"
"You mean those pokes?"
"Right, the tubes holding the medicine in them, those are syringes."
"Why would someone need those?"
"I'll explain you on the car. What I don't understand is why they took the blood"

***
Im not familiar with police protocol on these cases. I want to give options, but it all sounds like stuff the police WOULD do. As in, all of them. You know, check the background of everyone on turn that night, check for fingerprints, look online for "elf blood", stuff like that. Im just going to assume they do that, so the options will go in other directions))

Later, in the car, Cedric asks Ellie about tracking the stolen goods and blood using magic...

"I could probably do a spell to look for somebody. It would be like a compass, and point to the blood, IF it is closer than the person"
"That sounds useful."
"In this case, but needing hair of the person you are looking for usually means you need to find the person first anyway"
"Alright, then let's see... we'll need to see whom blood was stolen, first." -he checks through the files, and then they go and ask one of the blood donors for a bit of hair.

"So, how does this work?"
"Well, let's go to the other side of the city so we are as far away from him as possible. If they are further away than that, then it will be useless, though"
"Alright"

They drive to the other side of town, and then she uses a small fishbone with the hair braided around it as a compass neddle.

"Magic sure is convenient"
"When it is, yes, but I already told you. You would normally need part of the person you are looking for. Not very useful when you dont have that person next to you"
"Alright. I still think its amazing"

They go back into the car, and start driving slowly around town, following Ellie's instructions.

They end up outside a normal looking house...

We most-likely wouldn't initially, but over time we definitely could.

For now, we'd have to use it as evidence of who to follow, and see if they take what they stole into a public place. If we talk to them, and they're suspicious, we can take them in for questioning.

Nope. I was just thinking that the only people who need human blood and lots of it are blood mages and vampires. Maybe some people have genetic defects and need constant transfusions to live, but they don't need to rob the blood bank to get it. They can just walk in, present their ID, and get it done cleanly.

The other two, yeah, they got loads of incentives to break the blood bank. Like I said, way less hassle and avoids a lot of problems.

And to help break tie I am not against calling the station. Do it.

Alright so one vote for just going in and two for calling it in.

"Sergeant? We're outside Nobel St. 171, following a lead about that break in at the clinic." -Cedric calls the station over the radio
"Alright, Nobel 171 right? give me a moment..."

Just in case, Cedric gets his bulletproof vest on while the sergeant looks it up.

"...alright, found it, it's the house of a Dr Marcel Cama. No warrants, not even a speeding ticket"
"Alright, should we wait for backup?"
"It can't hurt.Stay put"

Cedric goes back into the car and sits to wait for a bit, talking with Ellie.

--She said---

It had been a while since he had worn his armor, but she knew now that it was better than it looked. It was a bullet-proof vest, and now that she was familiar with firearms, the mere name spoke at lenght about its quality.

It seemed strange that it was just a vest, however. It made as little sense as wearing metal underwear and calling it armor.

Well, perhaps it was magical?

"Cedric, why is your armor so small?"
"Small? we had to get this size specially done, you know?"
"I mean, shouldnt armor also cover the arms and legs? what about your head?"
"...those are good questions, but I don't know the answers."

After a little while, another patrol came by, so Cedric talked with his fellow officers and knocked on the door.

Depends on the layout of the house.

This is suburbs, often fenced.

So there may be a back gate to a side road, it may back onto woods, or more property.

Without a warrant you can only knock once. Getting a warrant generally is easy if you have due cause, however it would be a real test if magic is usable in a court of law.

--He said--

Cedric goes over to the house and rings the bell.
Its a very classical DING DONG that rings like bells.

"Hello, oh an officer... did something happen to Marcel!?" -A middle aged woman comes to the door and greets you somewhat worried
"Not that I am aware of, madam. Actually, we came here following a tip relating some stolen goods with your property"
"What!? hold on a minute..." -she closes the door, pulls off the chain and then opens the door again- "Please come in"

Well, not many guilty people inviting polive into their homes, so that certainly calms Cedric down a bit.

"You have a lovely home, madam"
"Thankyou. Now, what were you saying?"
"Last night, somebody broke into the clinic at the elven community, and stole some supplies, including syringes and blood. Some shelves were smashed and a glass was broken, but nobody was injured"

The woman nods politely, and while you are talking with her, her teenage son comes downstairs and asks her about dinner.

When he sees you, he runs out the back of the house.

They can't go inside unless they have a warrant from a judge, specifically stating an action is legal. There's often corruption involved here, and often judges are bought off. If anyone invites then in, they can come inside. It would be a god idea for Ellie to come in if they are invited, but not show herself.

Most people don't understand warrants. If they do, they won't even open a door, as police or federal police will often force their way in and illegally search if the door is open.

Elle's search spell may hold up in court, but would need a lie-detector's proof to show it's the truth, along with demonstration of it working. It most-likely would due to it's investigative ability. Thus it could be used for probable cause in a search warrant.

Makes sense. In any case, he'll be back sooner or later. Either that or we'll ask his mom who his friends are and he'll be with them.

This is probably ~$1000 -$2000 worth of stolen items and damages. Mostly the damages. He should be able to get by with just fines, if he's a first time offender.

Of course, depending on what medication he stole, there could be some drug charges. That would be significantly worse.

I once got banned from /tg/ for drawing a sexy elf eating an icecream... I still have the pic, may post it on /e/ I guess. I wanted to do a SoL quest about an icecream salesman and his icecream truck being sent to a fantasy world.

***

"Michael, what...!?" -the lady cries out as the kid runs off
*sigh* "I guess he may be involved...? madam, you may want to call a lawyer now."
"Oh goodness! I have to call his father!"
"Of course"

Cedric calls over the radio and makes sure that the guys outside got the kid.

Indeed they did, and he's now sitting in the back of the police car.

Michael's mom calls his dad at his work and goes out to see her son.

He's not banged up or anything, and she seems quite angry at him for whatever he did.

Later, it turns out he wanted to try a blood transfer to himself in an effort to gain magical powers.

If this has happened a couple of months ago, Cedric would have laughed it off, but now...

"Would that work?"
"I highly doubt it" -says Ellie
"Alright, good to know. Don't even want to imagine how many weirdos would come and try to kidnap elves if it did"

Indeed, the blood and other supplies were found in a small fridge in the young man's room.

Within a week, the media makes a circus of this, and some people begin saying that it DID work for a short while.

This sounds terribly stupid and dangerous.

"Elliezabella, do you think you could do a television interview?" -asks Cedric a week after that
"Sure! why?"
"Could you explain on television that the blood transfer thing does not work? If we don't convince people, it won't be long before we start seeing kidnapping cases through the roof"
"Perhaps I should ask everyone to give me some hair in advance?"
"Let's do that too"

They are having icecream on the couch while watching the LotR trilogy. Ellie laughs pretty much every time the dwarf is on screen.

Cuddling against eachother while Stella yaps at them to be picked up into the couch with them, they are paying about as much attention to the movie as any young couple would while making out, which is nearly zero.

"Aww alright, come here..." -Ellie picks the puppy up and pets it gently
"You shouldn't get it used to being on the furniture"
"Why not?"
"...I don't really know. It's not as if bothers me, but I think it's a pet rule or something like that"
"You sure?"
"Yes"
"Can we make an exception? look how happy she looks!"
"...fine"

Several tv networks want to interview Ellie as the first elf to join the regular work force.

>...its fox news really as bad as my usian friends would make me believe?

Nope, just a case of your friends being on a certain side of the political spectrum.
>>
>>38251236
>Is FOX that bad?
If not worse. It's almost propaganda.
>>
>>38251236
>...its fox news really as bad

Fox news is the reason most of the world hate's the US.
>>
>>38251236
not quite as bad but as it could be it is about even with msnbc and cnn for outright lieing to you but about different issues
>>
>>38251236
Whole MSM is pretty friggin' terrible. CNN, ABC, Fox, NBC, you name it It's all propaganda now. They even passed a law recently legalizing the practice on American Citizens. I mean, they were already doing it, but now they've made it official. Can't trust em'.

>>38251347
Pretty sure it's the bombs we keep dropping on people dude. That and supporting dictators, always a fun topic that.
>>
>>38251318
What political spectrum? The US only has right-wing nuts compared to the rest of the civilised world.
>>
>>38251386
true that

I restate that a lot of it depends on personal politics.

>>38251408

Yeah, thanks. American politics are a lot more different and varied then you might hear otherwise.
>>

>fox news
It gets exaggerated... but not by much.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fox_News_Channel_controversies
Among other things, literally editing photos to make people look worse.
>>
>>38251616
to be fair every news agency does that.... the fucks
>>
>>38251497
Depends. You might hear a lot, but due to cost of and frequency of elections, most representatives in the US are heavily in bed with big business. It's been like this for a very long time.

Note this doesn't mean a random person might not have done pretty diverse political views, but what goes on in politics at the state level and above is usually unattainable by anyone without connections and lots of money, and even below that there is tons of corruption.

This is hilarious. Its something like a joke segment, right?

***

"You are sure?"
"It's just questions, right?"
"Now I'm worried, somehow"

Cedric kisses her, and lies back against the couch as Stella hops unto his lap and tries climbing up to lick his face.

"Alright, alright" -he pets the puppy for a while
"Cedric, when will I be on te-vee? can my dad be there with me?"
"I think sometime next week, and probably not? they want you because you are working in a regular job."
"Alright"

Guys, im sorry but I need to stop here for now. I know we hardly did anything but I promised a friend to GM for him at this hour.

If you want examples of 'left-leaning' news, check out Democracy Now our The Real News network. They try to keep their facts straight, and generally report on what's going on.
