You take a breathe, try to calm yourself despite your feeling of shock, and more than a little betrayal and try to work out what to say, as Rainya watches you, her heartbeat racing but her breathing shallow as if afraid.

Thats not completly true, although I think Kaelyn just didn't think of it out of habit.
There is nothing protecting Rainyas dreams, except Kaelyns mark. Which used to be a reasonably adeuqate protection, but as things currently are, its very possible her mark is not as scary to potential roaming fae as it used to be.
In fact, Lord Reaper wouldn't even be breaking our agreement if he let it be known he wouldn't retaliate for intruding on his daughters dream feeders.

The interior of the warehouse is a large open space perhaps six metres in height and covering most of the area of the warehouse. Around the walls of the warehouse are wide walkways on three levels, with some of the walkways crossing the main area of the warehouse. The middle of the warehouse floor are rusted hulks of old machinery.

There is a layer of dust here, covered in footprints. On the ground floor near the machinery there are a dozen or so droplets of blood, recent enough that the stain hasn’t faded, only a few days old.

There is no one in the warehouse that you can see.

You and Lirael sit down and gaze into the past, as Rainya separates into four and searches the warehouse with Kaelyn.

You start a few days ago, hours before you got the message from Ash. As you watch the inside of the warehouse a curious-looking person comes in. She looks human with long dark hair and wearing robes but....her legs...instead of human legs she has eight mechanical limbs that carry her. As you watch this spider lady starts tracing symbols in the air and everything disappears, all around you is empty grey space with no details. Huh, so that’s when she cast the ward huh? Before she came in there was no bloodstains or footprints in the dust.

You try to pierce it, make out what happened, but nothing, it’s too strong. You feel it would require significant effort to beat, using up most if not all of your psychic energies and Liraels vitae.

You continue watching, speeding through time, eventually you see the spider lady again, just walking out of the building calmly, you look around and you see all the footprints in the dust as well as the spots of blood. You keep going right up to the point you entered the warehouse, but no one else has come in.

The time the ward obscures your vision for is about 8 hours, starting almost 6 hours before you received the text from Ash.

As you come out of your vision Kaelyn says “There were a lot of people here recently, cigarette butts, food-wrappings, footprints everywhere.”

Rainya nods in agreement, pulling a face “I found a toilet round the back” she says “it stank, I think it saw a lot of use.”

So dozens, maybe a hundred? People here for hours perhaps the whole time the ward was up?

You could try and see the time obscured by the ward but it might exhaust you, leaving you weak and vulnerable.

Each level of Titanic Form, which would automatically be on in War Form, the only time those levels of Might would be accessible, grants another level of Might and a bunch of other stuff.

Golden armor that is skimpy more to allow for practical ease of movement than for actual sexiness, a golden mask that is simply a blank mesh, and golden greaves/boots/gauntlets that are lightweight but have an armor rating dependant on her ranks in it. The glowing bow she normally has becomes a real, golden bow, firing real, golden arrows that also deal damage ala magic that also is dependent on her ranks in warform.

After spending another hour casting spells, the spider lady pulls out a comlink “It’s ready” she says.

“We’re on our way” says a quiet voice on the other end. About half an hour later a bunch of mercs start to arrive, wearing mismatched but good quality armour and carrying well-maintained weapons. These are not like the gang members you fought, these men and women look like professionals.

In with them come a half-dozen familiar-looking pale vampires in heavy dark clothing. Guterin is one of them. With them is another young vampire, a woman, early 20’s perhaps, with features vaguely reminiscent of Quinns, and an arrogant manner. And held between two of the shadowy vampires is Ashley. You almost lose the vision right there, seeing him alive again Ash...dammit! Lirael stabilises the gestalt long enough for you to recover.

“What are you doing?” asks Ash “Jade, what the hell?” He directs his question to the young vampire woman, whom you guess is Jade Crimsonthorne, she ignores the question.

“Well?” she says to the spider lady

“It is ready” she answers “but can you do what you claim?”

“Of course I can” she says confidently “He” she spares Ash a glance “will be mine within the 10 minutes.”

The shadow-vampires holding Ash force him to his knees, his head back, Jade walks over to him and places her hands on his temples and looking into his eyes “Shhhhhh” she says “relax, go to sleep, this will be over shortly.”

After an hour one of the shadowy vampires puts a hand on Jades shoulder and she twitches and gasps, as soon as she has broken eye contact Ash can move again and shakes his head.

“It’s not going to work Jade” he says, shaking his head “what you’re doing will take days, even elders would take that time.”

“You promised you would remake his mind in minutes” says one of the shadowy vampire casually “our master calls and not even vengeance for our slain kin is excuse enough to delay for long.”

“If she cannot break him” suggests one of the shadow vampires “then perhaps a faked message can still bring the Daughter of the Tyrantslayer here, perhaps we do not need the Crimsonthorne girl.”

As the other shadow vampires consider this, Jade turns to the spider lady angrily “We had a deal!” she snaps.

“Yes we did” says the woman calmly “and so far, you’re not holding up your end, we need the boy because she still cares for him, this my lord has confirmed, she will come for him, but only if we have the real him, a fake is too easy to detect.”

“You just make sure your master keeps up his end of the deal!” snarls Jade.

“As agreed” says the woman calmly “drain the girl to death and kill all of her companions and he will have you included in the ranks of the Reunited, this the Infinite Mirror promises. If you can break the boys mind of course.”

“And how am I supposed to do that?” asks Jade “if you want me to make him put an exploding knife in her back?”

“This will not kill her” says the woman calmly “I have foreseen it.”

One of the shadowy vampires ventures a question “why not simply control the boys mind?” he asks “Why must it be remade entire?”

The spider-woman shakes her head “She is cautious, unlikely to go near him if she detects mind control or magic, further, the boy still has feelings for her, he could deflect the strike or try to warn her somehow, unless he is completely committed to the strike.”

“This won’t work” says Ash “I won’t kill Shee, you can’t make me.”

Jade chews a fingernail nervously “I can do this within the allotted time” she says “but not whilst he still resists, if he accepts the changes I can do this, but as long as he resists...”

“Ah” says one of the shadowy vampires “then he must be made to agree” he walks around in front of Ash whilst those holding him haul him to his feet, and with one swift blow after another, the vampire breaks all of Ashs ribs.

“Feeling ready to change your mind yet?” asks the vampire with a friendly smile

“Fuck you” gurgles Ash, breathing his own blood.

“Bring one of the locals” says a shadow vampire “the boy can feed, heal and then suffer again, until he breaks.”

“And I thought this would be boring brother” says one of the vampires, loosening his shoulders.

Horrified you watch as the vampires beat Ash for hours, you skip past that as fast as you can, wait, Ash is kneeling to Jade, go back.

After three hours, Ash says “Stop! Stop, alright, you win” as Jade approaches he says under his breath “Shee I was too weak, I won’t ask for your forgiveness, I’m so sorry.”

Jade stares into Ashs eyes for several minutes, and then he kneels and kisses her feet.

“It is done?” asks the spider woman

“It is” says Jade “Ashleys Kellens mind is no more, there is only slave now, isn’t that right slave?”

“Yes mistress” says Ashley, still kneeling

“And you will kill Shee Hyul?” asks Jade

“I live for you mistress” says Ashley.

“As fun as this is” says a shadowy-vampire “why?”

The spider woman answers “she has taken upon the Aspect of Family, and follows the Deep Mother, an attack from a loved one will pierce any defence she might raise.”

[Weakness: No defensive Gift will function against attacks from those you care for.]

“And why do you hate her so?” asks the same vampire.

“I don’t” says the woman, “but the Mirror promised to shower me in Gifts for killing her, besides, one of us has to die before this contest is over. Now” she says to Jade “have him send the girl the message”.

Ash starts typing out a text on his phone. That’s as long as you can hold it, the vision breaks.
