Disney Villains Victorious is a /tg/ homebrew project based on the idea of a world, not entirely unlike our own, in which all the villains from all the Disney animated feature films were not defeated at the ends of their movies but were instead victorious, completing their goals in part or in whole.

It is a world in which Ursula rules the seas, defied only by the uncatchable Pirate Lords, the cutthroat merchants of the East India Trading Company and the might of Atlantis and its magitech-toting mercenaries. It is a world where the grasslands and jungles and forests are prowled not only by fearsome primal beasts like Shere Kahn and Scar but also by the ruthless, tireless hunters that stalk them. It is a world where Europe has been divvied up between evil sorcerous monarchs like Maleficent, the Horned King, Grimhilde and Jafar, mad, inquisitorial clergymen like Frollo, and Dark Gods like Hades and Chernobog.

It is not, however, a world completely devoid of courage, heroism or hope. Around the world, the PCs' characters and their allies plot and plan, fight and strive and win their own victories against the villains that would rule them. The time to fight and to be free is now.

So what is Bill Sykes up to? I think he hasn't been discussed much.
>>
You guys have no fucking clue how much trouble 4chan put me through to post the OP.

>The Captcha on Chrome is blocking the Select File button with a 'YO MAN YOU SHOULD TYPE THE CAPTCHA AND COPY PASTE A SICK ASS CODE AT THE BOTTOM' bar, so I had to try another browser.
>Internet Explorer was 100% unresponsive, so I had to use my phone.
The Start a Thread Button on my phone was also useless until I turned >off mobile.
>Then the picture was 'too large' for an hour.

Fuck you CAPTCHA, fuck you. Next time somebody else start a new thread, please.

>>38109185
No clue. A while back Plane made a story where Xanatos mentioned keeping Sykes around to give the appearance of needing assistance from the other factions. He might not be doing that much.
>>
>>38109249
I put the idea in my KLR that both Xanatos and Sykes both fully expect the other to betray them.

Disney Villains Victorious: Gridlocked is the expansion to a /tg/ homebrew project based on the idea of a world in which all the villains from all the Disney animated feature films and shows were not defeated at the ends of their stories, but were instead victorious, completing their goals in part or in whole.

It is a world in which a Wasteland covers half of America, occupied only by uncatchable motor bandits, the corporate regime of KaneCo, and the might of AUTO and it's space ship from the future. It is a world where the cities are occupied not only by supervillains and gangsters, but also by the ruthless criminal masterminds that fund them. It is a world where the US has been divvied up into shares between evil CEOs like Syndrome, Shego, and Xanatos, mad, intelligent machines like Drossel and DOR-15, and otherworldly forces like the Galactic Federation and Bill Cypher.

It is not, however, a world completely devoid of courage, heroism or hope. Around the world, the PCs' characters and their allies plot and plan, fight and strive and win their own victories against the villains that would rule them. The time to fight and to be free is now.

New Sabor

Agility: 14
Intelligence: 10
Sensibility: 14
Charm: 8
Will: 4
Strikes: 3+X3, where X is the number of party members.

---Skills---
Athletics: 8
Acrobatics: 8
Brawl: 7
Stealth: 8
Prevent Harm: 6
Endure: 6
Intimidate: 7
Insight: 6

---Traits---
Low to the Ground: +2 to Stealth rolls where visual detection is a possibility
In the Forests of the Night: Reroll all Stealth checks at night and keep the better result.
Pounce: +4 to Brawl rolls against unaware opponents.
Think You Can Hide from Me?: +2 to Insight when attempting to detect people in Stealth.

---Powers---
Camouflage: After a Strike dealt to this unit, they may roll a Stealth check without counting it towards the character's actions. A successful check means the character has found a sufficient hiding spot after being injured. Only works if there are places suitable to hide.
Pinned Ya Again: Spend a Will Point and the character may choose to roll their Brawl vs. an enemy's Robustness/Agility to pin that enemy to the ground at risk of opening up another attack on the character upon failure. Pinned enemies cannot attack until unpinned and must make a Robustness check against a character's Brawl roll to become unpinned every round until defeated or successful escape.

good to see that they're safe, I thought I'd lost them.

anyway can you help me think up some powers for Hack and Punch;

Hack's a Giant Mecha squid-claw thing with a set of glowing green eyes that is rooted into the code room (think Glados combined with Harbinger and Sovereign) with an avatar in the game as a helper NPC, that really looks like Mr Gryle combined with The monster from a monster in Paris and a plague doctor (Smart/agile)

Punch is a result of a cybug eating Kirby and The Yellow Devil in their respective games and, as such, has the mind of a child and a body of malleable nanoblobs (strong/charming(?))
>>
>>38112462
I'm going to go on the assumption that you're Otto/Haddock and pitch ideas as usual.

For Hack Bug, you can take some Traits from other characters like Kravenn or Scar that involve deception and take the Backdoor in the System Power from Grid and giving it to Hack instead. If you need more inspiration, you could look at the Commantis Dream Eater in Dream Drop Distance. No Kingdom Hearts is getting into this game, but the boss itself is rather interesting in design.

First off, Punch Bug should be Strong/Sensible if he really needs to have two roles instead of just Strong. Give him the Dense, Willful Self Delusion or It Doesn't Have Pictures in it to represent it's intelligence. Throw in Devourer and Living Swarm as well. Other useful inclusions would be Combo and Not Fair.

All of these Traits and Powers can be found on the Drives. Use ctrl-f to locate them.

Can I rename Grid Bug to something relevant to Monsoon? His body's production number was 976-AZQEE, and that sounds like a fitting name for a computer program.
>>
To whoever is writing the fluff, Frollo's Blue Ranger (Ranger Bleu/Le Moine Paisible) doesn't have a background listed, nor does Lady Tremaine. I could use some help with that
>>
>>38113466
Where is Lady Tremaine? I don't even know what she's up to. Was the kingdom from Cinderella taken by Frollo or Grimhilde?
>>
>>38113609
According to 1d4chan, she's in Frollo's Grand Archdiocese
>>
>>38113638
Wow, I didn't even see her before. She doesn't really need a rundown like the original characters do, because we already have an idea of who she is. Might be good to know where she is now, though.

Ranger Bleu was a peaceful monk until Pope Pierre II taught him to feel hate and anger towards heretics. Though calm appearing on the outside, his inner rage boils under the surface ready to explode.

I'll bear that in mind

Disney Villains Victorious is a /tg/ homebrew project based on the idea of a world, not entirely unlike our own, in which all the villains from all the Disney animated feature films were not defeated at the ends of their movies but were instead victorious, completing their goals in part or in whole.

It is an America in which Syndrome’s robot army rules the Rocky Mountains, defied only by the mysterious and brooding Yokai of San Fransokyo and the Californian Coast, the Horrors of the Gravity Falls Triangle in Oregon and Washington and the might of Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz in his strongholds in Utah, Wyoming, and Colorado. It is an America where the grasslands and oilfields of the Oklahoma and Texas are run by the scheming Shego through her Drakktech corporation, it’s harsh but individualistic meritocracy strongly at odds with the hive mind of DOR-15 Inc which runs the rest of the South. It is an American where the free spirits of Motorcity routinely delve into the Buy and Large Wastelands, and from afar David Xanatos watches from his Orwellian headquarters in New York City.

It is not, however, a world completely devoid of courage, heroism or hope. Around the remains of America, the PCs' characters and their allies plot and plan, fight and strive and win their own victories against the villains that would rule them. The time to fight and to be free is now.

This should have the changes. Anywho I think we can talk about Big Hero 6, we have to if we want to get anything done. To be honest there are a few shows in this setting that I havent seen, Big Hero 6 being one of them until I realized I needed to see it or I wouldnt be able to contribute.

In fact I think that may be the issue. Vanilla DVV is stuff we all have seen. Not so with gridlocked. And we have a theme for vanilla. All vanilla is romance >cont
>>
>>38120698
All vanilla is romance and how Churnobog screwed that up. It is a very constant theme and it gives flavor to the whole setting. Gridlocked doesnt have that. Gridlocked is mainly tv shows instead of movies, so how they approach story telling and the messages they tell are different. Even the movies included are not about love, they are about family or living your dreams, or simply fitting in, etc.

I think we need to figure out what is the common core message in all the shows we have chosen for Gridlocked, so we can turn on it. Vanilla DVV are are epics, grand tales. But until we do so, I think the setting is going to feel fragmented and it will be hard for people to commit to it.

You know who else would make a suitable Scottish King if Fergus and Mordu kill eachother? Macbeth. The world isn't what you would call 'chronologically stable', so perhaps he can be found in Classic and Gridlocked as two different incarnations of himself.

Despite claiming to be a powerful sorcerer from a distant land called Udrogoth, he could just as easily be a leftover from England who slowly lost his mind in the sewers. First things first, I'm the guy who (along with Architect) has been working on the Kings/Villains/Other Characters Google Doc for Classic. Progress has been good, and I'm now going back through the threads to see if I've missed anything.
Also, Architect has come up with a game mechanic for dungeon crawls. The TL:DR version is that it relies on either Travel or Driving to get through a given dungeon, but it's a bit more complex, so I'll let Architect make his full pitch when he has time.
For those of you interested, here's the Google Doc link: https://docs.google.com/document/d/19e3fTDXa-1YhzZuCk62PKLIu-ETzqOFDV6kiCfeazc8/edit#

Rules Question: How exactly do vehicles work (and if vehicle combat is a thing, how does it work?)
>>
DUNGEONS

Dungeons are any sufficiently closed off area you are raiding with a Villain, King, or something very important at the end. An area is not considered a Dungeon unless you face resistance of some kind. Dungeons must be explored with Travel (or Drive, if possible) + 3d6.

Each Dungeon has a Size, a Complexity rating, and unique traits.
Size refers to how big a Dungeon is and much Travelling must be put into a Dungeon before reaching the end.
Complexity is the penalty to Travel when rolling to reach the next Floor.

When you reach a Floor (starting with the entrance), each party member rolls Travel.
The highest Travel result of the party subtracts from the Size of the Dungeon, representing the group getting closer to their destination and how far they move before being stopped. If your end up with a negative result, you either made no progress or found yourself at a dead end and had to move backwards.

After that, you roll on a random table for challenges or traps that slows the party down. In most cases, you won't have to roll these again when moving back.

Examples include Cauldronborn soldiers to be fought/avoided with Stealth or an especially thick cauldron mist that needs to be Endured to pass through without getting Poisoned.
After passing that, you move on to the next Floor. You may heal up and take a quick breather between Floors. However, most King's Dungeons will be too busy to allow for breaks without consequences.

Floors are more narrative than literal. Dungeons don't have a specific amount of Floors, but the Size and Complexity remain constant. Don’t hold me to that last part, because you bet some of the zanier dungeons are going to change Size and Complexity as part of their special effects. Wonderland is a good example.
>>
>>38131741
An example of a large but simple Dungeon would be the plains around Pride Rock, being mostly flat land. Good luck making your supplies last with those hyenas around.

A small but complicated Dungeon would be Elsa's Labyrinth. Bring warm clothes and fire.

A mildly large and complex dungeon would be Agrabah Palace, but it's real challenge would be Jafar assaulting the players with illusions sending them backwards and waves of guards meeting them at every route.

Dungeons can be an interesting mechanic because it gives a little structure to the narrative nature of exploration.

>The player characters Hannah, Sverd, and Naacha are exploring a once abandoned Incan temple. A girl from the nearby village is ill, and only a rare flower at the top of temple can cure her. Too bad the temple is occupied by aggressive chimeras.
>All three of them roll for Travel. Sverd's roll is highest, so they follow his lead this Floor. It's small and has a rather simple layout, so the temple offers little penalties.
>The challenge for this Floor is a floor trap. Naacha smells danger and stays away, but Hannah fails her Insight roll and has to roll Prevent Harm to avoid being stabbed by the spike hazard she set off.
>Several Floors of combat and traps later, the reach the top and take the flower for the village girl. As the Dungeon was cleared of all traps and monsters, they can leave the temple without conflict.
>>
>>38131766
These rules can also apply to the long roads between towns and cities.
Measure Size as Distance and Complexity as Terrain. Some terrains may be incompatible with certain modes of transportation. Use Travel or Drive as usual.

>The party of Crash, Sanda, and Fiona need to take the road from Salt Lake City to Middleton. Crash has the best Drive, so he is the character behind the wheel making the Drive rolls. That generic but incredibly important flash drive isn’t going to deliver itself.
>The distance is long, but their mode of transportation (Mr. H) supplies a Drive bonus that makes the ride shorter.
>Then, the group rolls for road trip challenges on an appropriate table.
>Some of the road challenges included losing a tire (-2 Drive) and nearly being mugged by a small time super thug at a gas station. Several days later, they reach Middleton. Their car gets stopped by the privatized police force, but they got to their destination relatively unharmed.

Other examples would be seafaring and space exploration, but you get the idea.

wjere's doomtown ?
>>
>>38131894
We're still not sure where Toons belong in DVV, which is why they still aren't on the map. I can make a racial template for them and see where we go from there.

Also, I forgot my name for those previous posts.
>>
>>38131968
To add to this, Toons are in a bit of an awkward place. For example, Mickey Mouse would be considered both a Mouse and a Toon. We then come to the issues of:
1. What sets a Toon Mouse and a Regular Mouse apart?
2. If there are no downsides to playing as a Toon, only good bits, it throws the game balance all out of whack, because usually people will pick something powerful, especially if it comes with no weakness.
>>
>>38132175
Then you have to find some type of counterbalance system, and things get messy real quick.
>>
>>38132175
>>38132193
My current idea is just to treat Toons/Anthropomorphic Animals as Human/Animal Chimeras. Most interpretations of Mickey have him as a human sized mouse that follows physics like a normal creature. Toons with physics defying abilities would have to get specific Traits and Powers for it.
>>
>>38131894
We had it in the earliest versions of the Classic map, but we nuked it when we decided toons would go in a later expansion.
>>
>>38132528
Probably a good idea
>>
bump
>>
>>38131894
Toon is it's own expansion.
>>
>>38133342
Has work started on said expansion yet?
>>
>>38134113
Do you count the animal people we already have in the setting? If not, than no.

What belongs in the Toon Expansion, counting only Disney Properties:
>Who Framed Roger Rabbit
>Mickey Mouse Comics
>Ducktales/Donald Duck Comics
>Darkwing Duck
>Paperinik Adventures
>Pretty sure I'm missing some
>>
>>38134289
I wasn't counting the animal characters (Scar, Prince John, etc.) in my question
>>
>>38134770
Then we need to figure out these characters' places in the world.

>Doomtown is the central hub of the Doomroads, an interstate that can take you anywhere you need to go, especially when you didn't know you needed to be there. Small shanty towns (Toon Towns) form under these massive roads, and a majority of Toons that have nowhere to go gravitate to the Doomroads instinctually.

>Duckburg is easily one of the safest places to be right now. Mayor Scrooge taxes his citizens as much as he can to protect them from the dangers of the outside world. If they don't like being poor, they can just climb over everybody else to reach the Mcduck corporate ladder.

>We already talked about the Evronians, who have a foothold in New Zealand and have recently invaded Duckburg from the inside.

>St. Canard is a city of chaos. Most places in America have some form of peace in them despite the conflicts. Even The Wasteland has a strange serenity. Negaduck enjoys suffering too much to let that happen.

>Hollywood is for humans. Even in modern day, getting an animal a lead role in a film is easier said than done. Life is just a living disappointment for any toons looking for their big break here.

>The Phantom Blot is somewhere, because that guy is great
>>
>>38135382
Duckburg might be under Flintheart Glomgold's financial control, or under Merlock or Magica De Spell's magical control.
>>
>>38135568
Now we're talking. The Beagle Boys got their big break and cleaned out the Money Bin. Scrooge's enemies swooped in to finish the job, taking the rest of his assets and Duckburg for themselves.
>>
>>38135644
Pete's probably rich and pampered somewhere, not sure about the rest of the main Disney characters.
>>
>>38136114
Until we figure out the others, what did Pete do to get rich? Shipping? House of Pete?
>>
>>38136234
House of Pete seems about right, just running a night club for profit and entertainment.
>>
>>38136549
I'm alright with Gridlocked Mickey being a Toon actor who quit show business when it got bad and tried to open his own club. Then Pete kicked him out when the House got big and he's been looking for a job ever since.
>>
>>38134113
We're still in the middle of GridLocked and i'm planning on starting work on Nightmare and Bad Bluth after that. You want to increase my workload more?
>>
>>38137259
I was asking because I've been doing a lot of work with getting all of the characters for Classic assembled. If anything, I don't want you to start yet, because that's ultimately going to be more work for me too.
>>
>>38137358
Yeah, sorry. Kind of snapped at you.
>>
>>38137924
Eh, I didn't really care too much. You sounded sarcastic, so that's how I took it. Besides, the DVV Classic stat lines doc is already at 156 pages, and will probably end up somewhere around 170, so I know what lots of work feels like.
>>
>>38138201
Yeah. So, back on topic, how is Doof doing, Fluff wise?
>>
>>38138282
Well, he's certainly doing
>>
>>38138282
Other than ruling the Tri State Area, things are probably the same. Birds sing, sun shines, people subscribe to Doof's blog or be arrested. Same old, same old. That, or it's a lot like his Second Dimension counterpart.
>>
>>38138381
>it's a lot like his Second Dimension counterpart.
No. Doof should be a comedic villain. He's the humorously mad scientist.
>>
>>38138806
I agree with you there. We need a comedic villain.

Almost done with Oogie Boogie. Gave him an even bigger version of Yzma's 'Pull the Lever' Power because of his obsession with gambling.
>>
>>38138927
It's strange because when Doof was first brought up, I was against his inclusion specifically because he was too comedic in my view. Then someone pointed out that Yzma is effectively a female version of him and I had no problem with her.

KING: This unit is a KING. It gets +10 to Persuade its servants to do anything if opposed in some way, and can automatically make them obey if nobody is trying to incite rebellion among them.
Master of a Holiday This unit can call in his Villains to aid him in a fight if they haven’t been defeated beforehand.
High Roller: Oogie Boogie can use dice as +2 Ranged weapons.
My Bugs!: Oogie Boogie loses twice as many Strikes from attacks that would cut or tear at his body. His Endure is halved against tests to avoid acquiring a status effect.
I’m Gonna Do the Best I Can: Oogie Boogie regains Will Points when personally disposing of a living creature in his Torture Chamber.
>>
>>38139504
---Powers---
Gamblin’ Boogie Man: Spend a Will Point. Oogie Boogie throws his special dice, triggering the machines in his Torture Chamber to do their stuff. Roll 2d6 for the following effects:
2. Snake Eyes!?: Nothing happens to the players, but Oogie Boogie becomes Stunned.
3. Trap Door: A trap doors open in the Torture Floor, forcing the PCs to pass an Acrobatics check of TN20 to avoid falling into it. Falling drops a PC out of the battle 3d6 Distance, and they must make their way back with Travel to continue the fight. If all of the PCs are caught in the trap, the battle ends and the characters are kicked out of Oogie Boogie Tower.
4. Dead Man’s Party: 20 Bug Mooks slither into the room and attack the PCs.
5. Oogie Roulette: The Torture Floor begins to spin, throwing everyone and everything on the ground around like rag-dolls. The PCs will be required to make Acrobatics checks of TN25 every or become Stunned.
6. The Floor is Lava: PCs on the Torture Floor must Test Acrobatics and reach TN20 or be Burned.
cont
>>
>>38139562

7. Cutting Deck: The Torture Floor’s playing cards swing their swords around, dealing Oogie’s Melee damage score to all combatants within range. Each of these attacks may be dodged by passing an Prevent Harm check of TN20. These attacks causes Bleeding.
8. The Knights of Oingo Boingo: 10 horrifying Insect Lackeys drop from the ceiling to aid Oogie Boogie in battle.
9. Texas Shootout: The Torture Floor is fired upon by mechanical cowboys, dealing Oogie’s Ranged damage score to all combatants within range. Each of these attacks may be dodged by passing an Acrobatics check of TN25.
10. Paralytic Gas: Players on the Torture Floor must test Endure TN20 or be Poisoned and Stunned.
11. Mushroom Samba: Players on the Torture Floor must test Endure TN25 or suffer Pink Elephants.
12. JACKPOT: Roll twice on this table and take both results, rerolling duplicates.
Although I Don’t Play Fair: Oogie may spend a second Will Point when he activates Gamblin’ Boogie Man and choose any effect between 3 and 11 instead of rolling normally.
Shadow on the Moon at Night: Oogie Boogie may call upon his shadow to take a Strike for him. However, doing so also incurs a -1 Prevent Harm penalty that is cumulative over the course of an encounter.
Bag of Tricks: Where is Oogie’s bag of tricks? He is a bag of tricks! Oogie Boogie may use Craft + Occult to generate various foul objects (traps, potions, poisons and other things) from his body and use them against his enemies.

This would be so much easier if i could see how many characters were left.
>>
>>38139583
---Equipment---
Oogie’s Dice: Required for Gamblin’ Boogie Man. +2 Ranged because of the High Roller Trait.
Screaming Gas: Glass bottle that is thrown Ranged. Causes Fear. TN25 Endure.
Spider Trap: Ranged weapon that causes Binding if it isn’t avoided.
Torture Chamber: Oogie Boogie’s prefered arena. The new and improved Torture Chamber boasts all sorts of nasty traps synchronized to Oogie’s Dice. The Bug Day King will often be watching his victims from the observation area of his arena.
Torture Floor: The bottom of the Torture Chamber is where the magic happens. Conveniently, Players climbing up Oogie Boogie Tower will find themselves here. Players can get from the Floor to the observation area with Athletics TN30.

Finished.

Anyone have the status on the classic PDF?
Also, I'm really sad all the DTP stuff stopped, I really liked hearing our sample characters adventures.
>>
>>38149762
The status on the Drive is "unfishised, but we're getting there and we would get there faster if people helped out."

If there's anything that belongs in the book that isn't there yet, please put it here:

https://docs.google.com/document/d/188sdY5frwIsmjxlTt1dUSnUrRY_jcRVsPv5Q_B3kN6I/
>>
>>38150144
I was looking at that, and noticed that a lot of stuff is not in the book, but merely links to other places. Isn't that counterintuitive? I thought that the PDF is supposed to include everything.
>>
>>38150948
It's not counterintuitive, it means nobody put it there yet. Here is what I know needs to be added:
>Beasts
>Chimeras and Toons
>Travelling (working on new version)
>sample characters
>new Equipment rules
>>
>>38151430
Well excuse me for using the wrong word then. How was I supposed to know that those weren't supposed to be permanent? Not actually mad, just tired as hell
>>
>>38151430
Aren't beasts, chimeras and equipment already in the pastebins and on 1d4chan? Also The character creation drive is full of sample characters.
>>
>>38151913
Those are just random characters people put up. The DTP team is our sample characters.
>>
>>38151691
Actually, you did use the right word. I was just pointing out that the intention was to put everything on one document and convert it to a PDF. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

>>38151913
Yes, Beasts and Chimeras are on the Pastebins. We need to copy them from the Pastebin to the core book so that somebody who downloads the book can read the information from there. Also, the Equipment rules on the 1d4chan are outdated.
>>
>>38152465
Are we going to put the Kings/Villains stat lines on as well?
>>
>>38153094
Most likely. Alternatively, we can put all of the separate documents in a folder/zip and release it as that. Either is workable.
>>
>>38153442
Be warned: the Kings/Villains thing is huge. As in 160 pages huge
>>
>>38153522
Scratch that, then. Here is what I think the DVV folder should have:

>Core Rulebook
>Classic Kings & Villains + KLRs
>Gridlocked Kings & Villains + KLRs
>Space Expansion
>Rumor Mill and Adventurer's Almanac
>Dungeons & Roads
>Extracanonical Book (Not Disney & Reference materials go here)

Is that about everything?
>>
>>38153815
I feel like we should first finish the core rulebook, then combine the Rumor Mill, Adventurer's Almanac, and Kings/Villains for each expansion and release those as single PDFs (so the Classic one would have the Classic Rumor Mill, Classic Adventurer's Almanac, and Classic Kings/Villains, as well as maybe a couple example Dungeons and Roads)
>>
>>38153888
I actually did finish an example Road. It's a bit (pardon the pun) rough around the edges, but it works for the time being.

Road: Mountain Pass
Land: Hunnic China
Distance: 45
Terrain: Rocky (-2 Travel, -3 Drive), Secluded (+2 Stealth)
Conflicts:
1. Huns: A detachment of Hunnic warriors has been dispatched to scout the area. Depending on your relationship with the government, they might harass you a bit before letting you pass or attempt to arrest you.
2. Rebels: Your party encounters a group of roaming bandits. They may try to take your money if you look wealthy, or your life if you put up a fight. If you are an enemy of the Huns, they could be an unexpected ally.
3. Landslide: The party climbed a mountain and they turned around. All players must roll Prevent Harm to TN20 to avoid falling snow and rock debris, or the landslide will bring you down 1 Strike. In addition, add +15 to the Distance.
4. Cold Mountain Winds: All players must roll Endure to TN20 to avoid taking a Strike from the extreme cold.
5. Nothing: Nothing eventful occurs to the party.
6. Hidden Village: The travelling party discovers a friendly village in the mountains. They may rest there for a day to resupply and recover from their journey.
>>
>>38153937

>>
>>38154202
>(1d12)+(1d6-1)
That's a bit too much. We want to keep to just d6, right?

How about this?
>5. Spirit Shrine: Your group discovers lost and desecrated shrine that has been savaged by the huus and eroded by the elements. Some wayward ghosts (or even the shrine guardian) might still be around, searching for vengeance.
Or you can keep 5 as Nothing and replace 6. I don't know.

>>38154267
We can include the DTP stories in a separate book.
>>
>>38154448
I like it as it is, maybe have a scared shrine in the hidden village, the goal of hunnic china is not only to take out shan yu but to prevent the people who embody the traits of the twelve spirits and their followers killing each other to find out who the next emperor is

It was bad enough when I could post pictures, now I can't post at all on my computer. Fuck you, swirling circle.

Anyway, I compared some maps on the internet to try and find Duckburg. It would be in Eureka, California. St. Canard is on the other side of the Audubon Bay Bridge that connects the two cities. In retrospect, I'm not sure if Mulan needed Against The Living, really. I mean, she can't actually fail it even on triple ones but the only undead we ever actually see in Mulan are helpful, so I'm not sure why I made her conformed to the Horned King undead rules.

I think she may need a way to make sensibility attacks with Melee.
>>
>>38157701
I don't really like this version of Who I Am Inside. When would she need to replace Music with Persuasion? I like your idea.

>Who I Am Inside: Mulan may use Sensibility with Melee.

Also, what do you think of my Travelling and Dungeon Crawling mechanics?
>>
>>38158017
They look fine to me If a bit un-disneylike but should probably be a more optional rule than anything, as they're a bit more complex than the standard rules and support a much more dungeoncrawly style of game than we've actually explored in the playtests.

Travel rules seem fine. We basically only ever used Travel as a way of locating where you are and getting somewhere in a reasonable period of time anyway.
>>
>>38158116
I agree with the Dungeon rules being not for everyone. That's why I'm making them as simple as possible so that people wanting to storm a castle and fight the King with some Disney style can do so with optional rules. We're all about the options here.

Travel is for people who want to spice up getting from Point A to Point B. Not to mention it lets us turn the Land in the KLR into a game mechanic.
>>
>>38158237
>Not to mention it lets us turn the Land in the KLR into a game mechanic.

Bumping with some Terrain and Weather effects. These do not include a King's Land effects. Suggestions are welcome.

Terrains and Weather Effects

Flat: No penalties.
Road: +1 Travel, +2 Drive
Highway: +3 Drive, -1 Travel
Rough: -1 Travel, -2 Drive
Rocky: -2 Travel, -3 Drive
Cold/Hot: TN20 to Endure low/high temperature every day.
Frigid/Sweltering: TN25 to Endure extremely low/high temperature every day.
Snow: -1 Insight
Blizzard/Sand Storm: -2 Insight
Secluded: +2 Stealth
Open: -2 Stealth
Forest/Jungle: -1 Travel, -3 Drive, +2 Stealth
Active: Reroll results where nothing happens.
>>
>>38160663
Imagine rolling a 12 on your stealth...when out in the open in broad daylight. I'm sure with the right GM you would become creed.
>>
>>38161179
Stealth can generally mean attracting less attention. I should bump up the penalty just to be safe.
>>
Prydain Land Effects
Green Smog: The mists of the Black Cauldron halve the rate at which Strikes and Will recover naturally to those unaccustomed to it.
Cauldron Curse: All that die in Prydain become Cauldron Born. Their bodies become slaves of the Horned King, but their souls go elsewhere.
Watch Your Step: There’s lots of holes in the ground from all of the graves dug up. Additional -1 Travel and -2 Drive on any Terrain except Paved.
Peasantville: The people of Prydain are a very depressing bunch. They have little food to go around, and even less in the arts or crafts. They are less likely to cooperate with characters who cause trouble for the Horned King.

With regards to generic mooks, will they change mechanically depending on the Realm, or just superficially?

There's no set release date, as far as I am aware. The system is readily availible from the 1d4chan and the in progress Core Rulebook Drive. When the latter is finalized, we can say the game has been 'released'.

Can I get a list of characters we need to get in the game that aren't already statted? No bonus boss or reference characters, I mean "we talked about this person for the last 20 theads and the game would be incomplete about them" characters. An example would be Mad Madam Mim, who is supposedly an ally of the Horned King.

Shouldn't you give him a way to defend himself from thrown projectiles? Some pcs can just throw a molitove cocktail at him and call it a day.
>>
>>38198705

Well, if I can offer suggestions

Burned: Endure rolls receive a -5 penalty. If the character is still Burned after five turns, roll Endure. If the roll is a failure, take one physical Strike

Poison: All defensive rolls suffer an initial -3 penalty. For each turn that the character stays poisoned, add -1 to the penalty. Every five turns, the character takes one Strike.

Frostbitten: -3 to all Agility rolls. The distance the character can cover per turn is cut in half. The character takes one Strike every four turns

How's that?
>>
>>38200035
Good, but you should put "Effects my vary depending on poison, the degree of the burn, or the degree of the frostbite."
>>
I forget, in Halloween town, do you need a disguise if you are human or you get attacked, or can you just walk in?
>>
>>38200124

Well, yeah, that's a given.

Also, on a second thought, I think Burn is kinda underwhelming compared to the others. If the penalty extends to both Endure and Robustness it'd be better, I think

Burned: Endure checks and all Robustness rolls receive a -5 penalty. If the character is still Burned after five turns, roll Endure. If the roll is a failure, take one physical Strike
>>
>>38200270
The Hinterlands are a Dream World, so 'walking in' isn't quite an option. To answer your question, you might need a monster disguise to travel in Oogie Town without drawing attention. It's probably still a small town, so they might notice new people.

Meet Captain Lawrence Arlo Coriander. Like another Captain we all know and love, this mouse is a captain in name only. He smuggles mice and other small creatures out of the crappier parts of the world in an Atlantean submarine he himself is a stowaway of. He's called the Captain because he's the authority figure of the tiny group, deciding who stays and who goes while the human crew is unaware. He was doing well as a smuggler for a few years, until more and more accidents on land and sea made it clear that somebody was trying to kill him. It wasn't until it pointed was out that he resembled a certain somebody that was meant to be dead that it became clear to him he was in hot water with Professor Ratigan over a misunderstanding.

I would post the picture here, but my issues with the Captcha are preventing that. Link to his picture is here http://images4.fanpop.com/image/polls/602000/602102_1292965522796_full.jpg

You'd need to be careful. A lot of equipment is HARD to replace in DVV and without a currency system it's even harder.
>>
>>38223231
Maybe the place you are in has different currencies but some have similar enough currencies that you can just disguise them as the coin there? Like halloween town uses bugs, frantoyko or whatever uses dollars, doof evil inc uses doof bucks, ect.
>>
>>38223338
That doesn't make an Atlantean laser rifle any easier to replace, and when you've built a character for it...
>>
>>38223363
Indeed, but it does make it possible to buy one back from say a trader, but those kinds of items will be rare, maybe we can have certain merchants have a chance of having rarer or better gear depending on rolls.
>>
>>38223363
Perhaps we can make it to where being burned only destroys things it would logically destroy, like clothing, it wouldn't destroy a fucking knife. With certain things it degrades it but not outright destroys, with others it can outright destroy, or with say batteries it can be very dangerous to catch on fire, or if you have a grenade or a molitove cocktail...yeah you could see where that would go.
>>
Duckburg and Goofy are for Toon and Oogie Boogie should be in Classic.
>>
>>38223363
An item can be 'destroyed', but you can still repair it with Craft or Mechanics. Let's try to avoid making a money system.

>>38226578
Do we really need a Toon expansion? Animal people might be jarring in some places, but a GM can just say what fits for their version of the world and what doesn't.

Also, Oogie Boogie is in Classic. Halloween Town is part of the Hinterlands Dream World.

Do we have enough lore to do a "Disney Villains Victorious quest" thread?

>>
>>38242750
They're generally equivalent and in costant conflict. Most of the real powers have their reason for not crushing the competition outright. As far as Hades cares the rest of the world can go to hell now that he has Zeus' throne, Maleficient doesn't have any ambition besides "being a dick to everyone forever", Ursula is content with being the queen of all oceans and Tchernabog just wants the status quo to continue so he can gorge on human pain and misery forever.

It may be a tad rough if you are planning on doing it non-DTP, but theoretically workable. I do disagree with the others in that it would make the project more hated, however. If anything, it would draw much-needed attention to the project, and potentially some helpful namefags as most of us have had to step out for a time. A quest is, however, not the point of these threads at all. Someone explain to me the current state of the thread and the issue that is being debated right now because I honestly can't fucking tell. People are adamant about PDF'ing at least classic first, but I have no idea how that is going
>>
>>38244175
Well, we've got the basic map of the Gridlocked world pinned down. Now it's just a matter of fleshing out the areas with some fluff. Ideally we should start brainstorming on how things work in each crporation's territory and then translate this in a new set of K\L\R.
>>
>>38244175
That's pretty much accurate. We have no direction, and very little coordination because all of the big names kinda just vanished. I've been trying to keep working on the PDFing, but I have a life and a job too, which means that I don't always have time. Add to that the fact that I'm a relative newcomer, and it leaves us in a bit of a lurch. By and large, Architect is the main person keeping this whole shebang going

Are we going to include the Rumor Mill in the PDF for Classic?
>>
>>38244506
Aaaaand found it. This is from the time when we still had the Eastern Co-Prosperty Syndicate on the Classic map.

King: President and CEO of the ECPS Robert Callaghan is an accomplished and respected roboticist and ruthless supervillan. From his boardroom, he rages, driven mad by the inability to save his daughter. He stalks the night as Yokai, controlling an innumerable swarm of microbots, which can quickly overwhelm any adversary. However, his true weapon is his affability. He appears to be a kind and fatherly figure, and encourages his students to build him new technological marvels. His inner circle of students and researchers are utterly devoted to him, and will defend them with their own lives.

Land: The land of the ECPS is one of stratification, with towering, glimmering cities surrounded by rotting slums. Within the center of the cities, every motion is watched, recorded and analyzed. Any newcomer is carefully monitored for potential, and for potential danger. In the slums, crime is rampant and people are poor. Here the criminal arm of the Syndicate rules, extorting the populace, trafficking slaves, and terrorizing them with crude robots, derived from the underground fighting leagues. Outside of the cities is an industrial wasteland. Avarice and gluttony for resources has stripped the land of its livelihood, and has left it dangerously toxic and uninhabitable.

Rule: Callaghan is a resourceful man, and finds a use for each of his subjects. The brightest (but not too bright), are taken into his inner circle, where their inventions can increase his power. Most of his subjects are kept in poverty deliberately, so those absolved of their misfortune will be forever grateful. Others are taken into the various gangs and mobs, who take payment from the syndicate to oppress those without potential. Dissedants and anyone without talent are shipped off to the colonies. Some are sent into the jungles of Brazil and the east indies to find rare organic compounds, while others are forced to mine, to suppliment the insatiable hunger for rare earth elements. Why waste precious resources on robots when there is such a surplus of idlers? Those who show up Callaghan and create wonders beyond his own capacity disappear, their records are abolished and all inventions are credited to the dear president.

we haven't really started the gridlocked Playtest yet , but I have his charsheet for when we do

Good call. Do we have a more established lore for how the fuck Frollo become a lich?
No I'm not kidding, he's a damn lich.

>Speaking heresy of our beloved Pontifex

The power of a righteous and just faith keeps him to guide us, infidel

>Cursed by God
>Cherrybomb's dark influence
>Alchemical experiment gone horribly right
In all seriousness it's a remnant of the very first threa, when we needed a reason why all the various villains are still up and running in the 1930s. I'm pretty sure there is a piece about that in the adventurer's almanac

So it's pretty generic Scottesque cyberpunk then. Well, alright.
>>38244646
There is a 'canon' explanation, but it's 'canon' in a similar way to how DTP is, namely that it's just the route GMs can use if they want. Basically, the 'normal' explanation is that he was turned into a lich by Chernobog to make him a better servant to Sata- I mean, Chernobog's desires, and a literal focus for his unholiness and stuff.
>>
>>38244646
One of the ideas Architect and I were throwing around was that it was a demon sent by Tchernabog, that Frollo took as the "Mouth of God" or Os Dei
>>
>>38244709
So he accidentlied himself into a lich?
>>
Actually I think that Chernadouch slammed the worlds together and made each villain victorious, I'm not entirely sure although.

Kinda yeah. Never was the smartest dude, and certainly not the most sane.
>>
>>38244854
Can someone explain how people still see him as holy? I mean, for gods sake at least put him in a church to see if he catches fire if the whole "Demons can't enter churches" thing is true.

Listen m8, if you go to the north you find a huge fucking desert of ice, if you go the east you get fucked over by supernatural faeries, if you go south there are fucking minotaurs and titans and shit

If the guy that you know was pious and a judge is actually keeping that shit out of your ass, you're gonna believe he's got some higher power

Everyone in his realm (well, almost everyone) is a fervent believer and they genuinely believe he was made immortal by God to protect his flock forever. Also, if you say otherwise the inquisition will pay a little visit. Nobody expects the french inquisition!
>>
Can somebody make sure this gets onto sup/tg/? I've got stuff to do for the next hour or so
>>
I made sure this project stayed before and i'll make sure it stays now.

Nice. Is there a story to this character?
>>
>>38244262
Haven't been in the loop for a while, did we ever resolve the whole issue with space/aliens?
>>
>>38244230
That's really nice. It looks like something straight out of The Rescuers or The Great Mouse Detective. Saving it.However, it's really not what I had in mind for the character. If you didn't click the link (I can't upload pictures), the idea is that he is a dead ringer for the Basil, who Ratigan murdered. Though between the two images, I would probably use this one.

>>38244646
With Frollo's lich transformation, see >>38244709, only I think Os Dei is Rasputin.

>>38245319
Gridlocked and alien invasions are ambiguously canon. Is Zurg attacking? Are there vampire space ducks? You decide!
>>
>>38245319
Probably gonna split the expansion in a modern\future one and a space one.
>>
>>38245319
Nope but i'm personally in favor of fusing it with GridLocked.

Okay, who's starting the new thread?

It can't be me. I am incapable of starting a thread on this computer, so I hope somebody else steps up to do it this time.
