Despite being dressed like an overgrown doll- replete with frilly dresses and even a large bow tied gently in her hair-
Ezzy is still incredibly pleased with herself.
The tip of her tail beats out an upbeat tune, and she shimmies side to side, a grin so wide that her fangs poke out from beneath her lips.

You run your finger across her tail, following the contours of her scales.
It's kind of neat, all told.
They're much rougher than before, sort of... bubbling outwards. Pebbly, almost.

Her tail flicks at your hands as she turns towards you.
"What are you doing?"

You shrug.
"Feeling your scales, yes."
"What for?"
"It is interesting."
"How? They are just scales?"
"I have not felt scales, though."

The not-quite-as-little snake gives up, hair flopping back and forth as she shakes her head.
"You are very strange. You know that, right?"
"I think I am fairly normal. As far as giant spiders go, yes."
She snorts at that, a hissy giggle escaping.

"You might be right about that."

>You've got a clothed snake. Onwards!
>Elle is right here. Ask her for her plans before you finalize your own.

Elle is cleaning up, cloth scraps vanishing into a bag, needles and thread carefully put back in place.
In contrast to Sara and Dad's nuclear wasteland of a study area, she's rather carefully ordered.

You wait a moment for her to finish- Letting her nod her satisfaction at her organized pile of sewing implements before you clap a hand to her shoulder.

"Hmm? She is clothed, yes."
"Would laced be more appropriate? Wait, no, that is not what this is for."
"Yes?"

You lean back a bit, crossing your arms- which forces Ezzy to spiral up your limbs to your neck. Whoops.

"You had plans, yes?"
"For today?"
"For leaving the nest."
"Mhm."

There's a minute of silence.
"Are you going to tell me your plans?"
She laughs a little, smiling at your vaguely bothered expression.
"This, of course!"

She gestures around her, the silk and clothing sitting neatly nearby.
"I want to make clothes, yes? All sorts and kinds."
"Mhm?"
"I'll make whatever I want and as much as I want!"

"That aside- are you going to stay in the nest, then?"
"Mmm. No, no. There's noone here to wear them, yes? Maybe I will move near the village."
"Into the village would be better, yes. I am sure you could pay someone to remind you to eat."
"I need food to make silk. I would not forget."
She sniffs snobbishly tilting her her head back as she makes a face, and you laugh.

"Well, at least there will be no shortage of people to buy your things there, yes? You would have people crawling up from the city to buy your dresses."
"Of course!"

"But first-"
She pokes your arm, her fingertip prodding the soft skin above your chitin.
"You want a house, yes?"
"I want a bath. I can live in a tree if I have to, yes. But I want a bath."
>>
>>38063330
You giggle along with Ezzy, and Elle crosses her arms as she waits.
"I will build a house, I think. And you will need stones for water, and for heat, if Dad and I aren't there to warm it."
She nods.

"And we will need to talk to the village, too. I wonder if there is a mayor?"
"A mayor?"
"A person in charge, yes."
"Mom, then?"
"In charge of the village."
"I'm sure if she wanted to-"

You shake your head.
"Anyway- Think about what you want, yes? And I will make it."
"I want a bath."
"Are you going to live in it, then? What about a place to eat or sleep?"
She shrugs.

You wander off as the conversation drifts to a close.
The antsy feeling from days ago hasn't really gone anywhere. It's quieted a bit, but...

Is this how monsters leave home, then? They feel they can't stay?
But Ezzy lived with her mother for almost a year, right?
An arachne thing, then?

Or maybe snakes live together, but arachne live apart, or-
There's things to do, you remind yourself.
Like training until you can't move anymore. Or telling Mom her daughters are all planning to leave the nest. Potentially now.

Yeah, training till you're sore for a week sounds great. You should do that.

"Lyra?"
Abort abort-
"Ah, there you are."

You turn, bringing yourself face to face with your greatest challenge of all.
Alright, like pulling off a band-aid.
No escaping, so just, just do it!

"Lyra-"
"Mom, I am thinking that we need to have a talk, yes?"
"What."
You take a deep breath.

"All sorts of things are starting, yes? And very fast. And getting faster. We need to-"
"ARE YOU PREGNANT?!"
You choke, sputter- Your voice won't even come out properly, just hollow clicks as you face your mother with a blank expression.
"Oh gods, all those trips to the village- You're too young, I won't- They're men! Men! They should know better, especially with someone so young and-"
"WHAT. I'm not- I don't even- I AM A CHILD, YES! How would that even work! an I even get-"
"THE- THE- THE THING, IT GOES INTO YOUR THING AND THEN YOUR STOMACH GETS BIG AND THERE'S EGGS AND THEN-"
"THAT ISN'T WHAT I'M ASKING WHY ARE YOU YELLING STOP YELLING-"
"YOU HAVEN"T EVEN LEFT THE NEST WHY-"
"AAAAAAAAAAAAH-"
>>
>>38065223
You just start yelling, trying to drown Mom out as you close on her, wrestling to try and keep her mouth shut.
Oh gods, this is embarrassing. And idiotic. This is beyond idiotic-
"-I'M NOT ANGRY I JUST WANT TO MAKE SURE YOU'RE OKAY-"
"STOP YELLING!"

Thank every creature above for your strength.
You manage to pull her down, so she's half sitting, winding one arm around her head, keeping her jaw pinned.
Of course, even panicking, it is your mother.

So she has your other arm pinned almost painfully behind your back.

"Stop. Stop yelling, yes? I am not pregnant. Noone is pregnant."
"Haaa- Haaaa- Noone?"
"Nobody is pregnant. Nobody is even seeing any men, yes?"
"Then, what- You were trying to talk-"
"About leaving! Leaving the nest, yes! Elle wants to go to the village. And I am looking at caravans already. And I'm sure Aria would be doing something if she wasn't being grumpy in the forest!"
"That one is your fault, yes."
"She shouldn't have told me not to hold back then."

You both release each other, slumping down onto the nest floor and leaning against one another.
"I- I am sorry, yes? When you said-"
"It is fine. It's fine."
"Mmm."
"Wait- You aren't mad?"

She leans away, turning to face you properly- A sheet of her hair hangs right in front of her face, kept there neatly by her horns.
She brushes it back, and shakes her head.

"It is about time, yes? If you weren't starting to leave yet I would be worried."
"I thought you would be more upset about Elle leaving, yes. Aria and I-"
"Not so much."
She laughs.

They ended up taking down the god the old fasion way, with alot of help friends hey made along the way, the fight took up a session and a half and did not end without casualties.

The Moth that died was Gin, but he died as he lived, being the strongest mother fucker in the room. He wrestled the god into the dirt after it tried to attack his dautgher, and pinned it while all the mages they had gather bombarded it.

After nearly dieing on numerous occasions, making it with a hot rich spider and defeating a god, Nye decided it was time to retire and enjoy life. His second batch of kids are still little spider-lings while his first batch just saw him defeat a god and decided that they wanna be like daddy and started off on their own adventures, except for one spider who stayed behind. So Armiarma has now joined the Mothia, being played by Nye's player.

On a side note it turns out Nye literally named all of his kids spider

armiarma
prycop
aranya
merimangë
spindel and so on

After the battle there was a massive contient wide party, which Dr. Love in the city artially turned into a Mardi gras style funeral for Gin.

Gin's dautgher, also being of he stonk varity joins up with the Mothia in her father's footsteps.

This is when the all sat down and started disscussing what to do next. In the end they had a simple plan. Now selling drugs and coffee was fun but hard because it was mostly illegal, so if they owned the nation they could legalize it right?

So now they are founding the Mothia empire and all my notes are worthless
>>
>>38065964
I'm sure we could also make a fountain for the village, or provide any fields they have with convenient irrigation canals.
>>
>>38066034
I do not think we would know how it actually works. At most "Oh yeah it's an early tech in Civ MCCCXLI that helps agriculture"

And if they didn't figure out or can't afford water stone based irrigation on their own, we aren't much help.
>>

>Everything is fucked. I give it a week before they cause the entire country to sink into the underworld or something.
Or they decide that having a spider as puppet ruler is a better idea.
>>
>>38066136
Fountain wouldn't be too hard with a water stone of good enough size since I don't think we have access to a source of water higher than the village. Irrigation canals are pretty basic stuff that they would likely know about, the problem is the size of the river and they require regular maintenance.
>>
>>38066351

On that note the Spider Family had some questions for them, the two main ones being.

1) Was nye still their comrade even if he retired and

2) Being married does that make their daughter royal/noble

The answer they gave was yes to both so they are fully supportive of the Mothia empire
>>
You wrap your arms around her a second time, though this is less of an offensive measure.
She returns it, pulling you tight, and you stay a few moments like that.

Hugs are nice. Hugs are special.

When you both pull back, you're smiling uncontrollably- a warm, satisfied smile. Contentment. The love of your family.
You whisper your thanks as you pick yourself up, and she inclines her head, heading elsewhere.
Everyone's busy, it seems.

Elle is right where you left her- not that you particularly thought she'd be away from her sewing implements, but she occasionally follows sunbeams around like a cat.
And luckily enough, Lann is right there beside her. Fully dressed, to boot.

"Lann, Elle."
"Good morning."
"Mhm. What was Mom yelling about?"

You purse your lips.
"Nothing. That was nothing, yes. I wanted to ask about leaving, and she thought it was... something else."
"You're leaving already then, spiderbutt?"
"You wouldn't be so lucky, elfbutt. How easy would it be for Elle to live in town?"

She glances from you to your sister, who is watching you both with a look of faint amusement.
"She's the member of your family with an actual skill, so-"
"All of us have skills, yes."
"Skills that make money in town?"
"-Sara can enchant things."
"Do they explode?"

"Only sometimes."

"As I as saying, he's the one with actual skills, so it wouldn't be hard."
"Is there anyone we need to talk to about houses and such?"
"For an arachne? It'd take a week at least-"
"I would build it, yes? Is there anyone in charge? Do we have to talk to someone before building?"

"Eh. Technically the town has a council between the workers, the guild and the trade shop."
"Technically?"
"The town sits in harpy territory, right? So, realistically, they have no say at all. Especially when it comes to forest monsters."
"It would probably be best to ask first anyway, yes?"
>>
>>38066847
"Yeah. If nothing else, it'll give them time to pass word of an arachne tailor to the city. And provoke a flood of merchant brawls."
"-Does that actually happen?"
"Of course. If there's something coming in limited quantities they'll bloody race each other into the dirt to get it first."
"Huh."

"And speaking of which, wouldn't the city be better?"
"Is it different from the village?"
Lann turns back to Elle to answer her question.
"More people, more buildings. Stone walls, good roads. You'd sell straight to people, or people would come to you to get you to make something for them specifically."

Baby steps, baby steps. Also let our good friend merchant amass a fortune on profits before moving the silk business out of the area.

Also it would be hilarious if Elle would dress the entire village in silks for cheap and then laugh at the faces of merchants arriving clamouring for scraps.

"To start- Elle, how much do you think your clothes are worth?"
She shrugs.
"It is important, yes? Merchants would fight just to buy them. People would lie, or try to cheat you."
"Does it matter that much?"
"You can't hunt in the city, yes? And I might not be able to build anything there, either. So food would cost money, a home would cost money- And you eat a lot, yes."

"You eat more."
"That has nothing to do with my point."
"So, send her to the village?"
"Yes. You can trust Theresa-"
"And not just because she'd be making money hand over fist, either."
"Yes. You could learn what things cost, how to deal with humans. And when you are ready-"

"I can move into the city."
"If you want."
She looks pensive, folding her arms over her chest as she thinks things through.
"Okay."
"Okay, what?"

"I'll move to the village, yes?"

Either that or the sara thing
It's real fuckin' tough to choose, though I don't want to just spin my wheels.

Might as well ask if she wants to tag along, we can talk to Sara while we walk to the village?

I think Sara won this round?

Writing!
>>
>>38068785
Actually it looks more like combining going and talking to Sara won, tied with just talking to Sara without taking her to the village with us.

This seems to be in the lead by 1 vote. Even if one is accidentally fused into one line.
>>
>>38068878
>>38068824
I've got no problem combining votes usually, but talking to your sister in the nest and leaving the nest to chat with people in the village are exclusive.

It's not something to worry over, though.
Elle will definitely play tagalong when you go to return Lann.
>>
>>38068970
well, sister first I guess, if it's going to be too wordy to condense.

I think healing moth evo is sound. Complete with healthy green wings and fluff.

In most likelihood yes, but we should probably expect it to be somehow lewd, knowing Nin.

You leave Elle discussing things with Lann- How people are, where to hunt, what kinds of things she could buy- and stalk your way around the nest.

You're pretty sure you didn't see Sara leaving. So she should be somewhere around here.

It takes a few minutes.
Your sister is asleep- buried in books, but still asleep.
You smile, and start picking them off her.

Luckily enough, she sleeps like a log.

Gradually, the books resume their usual state- towers and walls, the bastions of your sister and father's knowledge.
You're dropping the last trio of books into place when she starts to stir, rubbing at her eyes as she wakes.

"Mnmn- Lyra?"
"Good morning, yes."

She looks side to side, blinking slowly before she turns back to you.
"What're you doing here, yes?"
"Here?"
"In the library."

"This is the nest, Sara. You fell asleep under all the books."
"Oh."
She looks almost disappointed.

"I had a good dream, yes. Walls and walls of books. Row after row, yes. I could even smell the paper."
"I think one of them was on your face."
She pouts at you.
"You used to have nightmares, yes. You would wake up crying, and I would hug you until you fell asleep."

You smile at the memory.
"Mhm. I don't have those dreams anymore, yes. Thank you."

She looks away, chitinous fingers brushing her hair away from her stubby horns.
"Mm. You're welcome."
You take a seat, just outside her ring of paper.
"I came to ask you what you wanted to do, yes."

"Not like that. What do you want to do when you leave the nest, Sara?"
She goes quiet again for a moment- and then she reaches out to one of the towers, prying free a rather eavy looking tome.
A flick of her wrist opens in, and she skims the pages before she finds what she's looking for, turning it toward you and holding it out.

An atlas, of some sort? There's a few red x's scratched in.
"They're libraries, yes. Dad told me about them. About where they are and what they are."
"You have a quest of your own then, yes."
She snorts, shaking her head.

"They are in cities, yes. And on major roads. There will be caravans, and guards, even though it will take time."
You trace a line through all the marks, over river and land and roads-
"We will be in every corner of the world, won't we."
"Yes."

"Dad- He is trying to find a way to talk to us, still. Or a way to find us, at least."
"There is no spell like that?"
"To talk over long distances? No. But I am helping, yes. We should have something by the time it comes to leave."
"Voices are good, yes. But you can't give hugs across the world, can you?"
"Then you should get them while you are still here."

Your sister opens her arms, and you pull her into your embrace, scattering her book all over again.
Her chitin feels rough against your back, but she's still warm.
She totally does smell like paper, though.

>>

>>38070836
doooh, I was hoping we could squeeze one more out of ya.

Is sara going to have some kind of horrible book evolution?
>>
>>38070836
When's the next opportunity to ask the wolf how old it is?
Also, how badly did we beat Aria? She sounds upset.
>>
>>38071016
She'll probably evolve into a book lord, just like Aria evolved into a gem lord.
>>
>>38070877

>>38070939
Thanks for playing!

As for telephones, it depends on how they end up working!
At the very least, there'd be better reception.
Magic is everywhere.

>>38071016
Paper spider! Highly flammable, but very lightweight.
This is not real.

>>38071019
She's lazing around somewhere. Throw it in an other vote, and we'll see when we get to it!

Aria skipped the 'experiment to discover powers' stage, and shot straight for the 'wrestle Lyra' stage.
You flattened her.
Neither of you are particularly great at hand to hand, but you are much stronger.
>>
>>38071124
>Paper spider! Highly flammable, but very lightweight.

Book scorpions exist in the real world, maybe she'll become one?

Did Lann get any levels from hanging out with us?
>>

It's kinda hard to track improvement on the stat cards for regular humanoids. Could you add the level of a stat before the current update in brackets behind the new one, or something like that?

Not in more than a general sort of way.
You weren't an engineer.

>>38071238
Only a few levels in the 'do nothing and get fed and clothed' skill!
She did acquire a new wardrobe, though.

>>38071318
I'll keep it in mind next time they get levels.

Arachne Tolerance
Monster Customs
Monster Diplomacy

Maybe Elle will create a paper spider familiar one day? That'd be great.

I can see he rest of Lann's life in this village.

>"Lann the spiders are acting funny again can you go talk to them?"

>"Lann the merchants want more silk can you go talk to the spiders?"

>"Lann there's this big scorpion thing, they're like spiders right can you talk to him?"
>>

>>38071594
This is already too accurate for Lann's liking.
>>
>>38071640
So, what is the next thing Elle will be fascinated with, after lace?
>>
>>38071909
Leather?
>>
>>38073645
>leather and lace
no elle no
