Sorry for no HPQ for those of you who follow both, I’ve hit a mental roadblock on planning it all out lately. QM question for you if you didn’t see it on Twitter, How big would you like MMS to be able to get? Most seem to favor a smaller size, no more than two or three more named characters for the main squad. Anything else would likely be mooks. Thoughts on this are welcome. Anyway, hope you enjoy this thread.

Your name is William and you’ve just finished clearing a farmstead of the bandits that had taken it over, were starting to loot it, were in the process of beating up the farmer and were scaring the farmer’s daughter for some reason. Now that all of the bandits have been dealt with in an appropriate manner, bullets solve nearly everything related to bandits in you experience, you’ve put your weapon on safe even as Morrigan hauls up the farmer from his overturned chair and begins to cut the bonds holding him to it.

“So why are you guys here?” the farmer asks after Morrigan gets him upright, “I was sure that nobody was going to come.”

Morrigan pauses as she cuts the last of the ropes tying him to the chair, even as Nem and Cath start to head out of the room.

“A woman ran into our building,” says Morrigan, “She told us this place was in trouble before she died.”

“She…she died?” asks the farmer, his face going pale.

Morrigan nods to the farmer. “Yeah…” she says, “We couldn’t do anything for her, she barely made it inside.”

The farmer seems to be in a bit of shock, rubbing at what you recognize as rope-burn on his wrists. He’s also bleeding from several places, nothing serious but they could use tending. You could also follow Cath and Nem outside to go check on the bodies.

Like five-ish, excluding Billy? Morrigan, Cath, Nem, Mary... so like one, maybe two more. It just seems too hard to meaningfully develop a character beyond the five already established, even if most of anything Billy had to deal with has been resolved to our knowledge.

I agree with just about everyone, 2 or 3 new main characters max to fill out some weak points (maybe a driver as one of em, who knows). If the encounters eventually get large, just add nameless "squad bravo" till it works.

Please anon don't roll again tonight the dicegods curse ye!
>>
>>37955823
If it becomes a trend we'll have to take the angel of mercy approach. We help people by killing them quickly and painlessly. We can't fix them... we tried once.
>>
>>37955823
I don't think we read the whole thing. We're going to have to really give it a good reading though
>>
>>37955778
>>37955823
It takes time to learn how to heal, mend, and build things. A lot more time than it takes to cut, rend, and destroy them.

It's somewhat apt in my opinion. It's like the dice favor good storytelling (ie, no mysterious perfecting of skills from reading them in a book earlier in the day).

I read an entire book on judicial processes and I'm not a goddamn judge. This is horseshit.

>>37955874
Could at least provide a bonus. Will has to at least absorbed a few facts. like how to disinfect wounds. Or at least not outright kill someone on accident. though it would be hilarious if he suddenly knew how to do heart bypass surgery while chugging a sixpack.
>>
Since this isn't a critfail and just autofail Will should just have no idea how to help and not make it worse.

>>
>>37955970
Absorbing and implementing skills from a book are two VERY different things. It's one thing to read a first-aid manual. It's another thing to be able to look at a situation and KNOW what needs to be done in which order and how to do it efficiently.
Hell, I'm not even up to date on my first-aid training anymore. Eventually, the dice will favor TLC and first-aid. They just need to be persuaded. Possibly with headpats and belly-rubs.

Probably. I got most of my first aid training in the hard way doing it myself most often after fucking up riding my bicycle. Let me tell you I won't forget the faces I got when I half limped into a CVS pharmacy bleeding from the bigass fucking road rash my arm was. I got lucky it was just alot of very shallow scrapes but it was alot of superficial bleeding. Manager kept whining I was bleeding on the floor though.

His employees convinced him not to call the cops for "assault" after I beaned him with the disinfectant bottle and helped clean up though. By then I was out of "shit shit shit oh god thats alot of bleeding shit" panicmode and paid for it all.

Thinking about I did not have a typical childhood... though it taught me many interesting things. Like how despite being bulky most disinfectant bottles are surprisingly aerodynamic.

The farmer is bleeding, bruised and has rope-burns on his arms. That just means you need to…to…

You blank. You completely and utterly blank on how you’re actually supposed to help him according to the book you just read. Part of it’s adrenaline, part of it is the fact that you did just read it an hour or two ago and part of it is your natural inability to communicate directly. By the time you even start to remember what you’re supposed to be doing, you realize you don’t have most of it or actually know what it looks like. Bandages you have. Iodine? Analgesic cream? You have no idea what that is. You should probably learn and find some before you actually try to fix somebody.

“My daughter,” the farmer says suddenly to Morrigan, standing up in a lurching fashion, “Did you find her? Is she ok? Oh god please she’s...”

“She’s fine old man,” says Morrigan, sticking out a hand so the man doesn’t fall over, “Worst she’s got is a few scuff marks on her dress, I’ve hurt myself worse taking a bath. They didn’t lay a hand on her.”

The farmers face calms down when Morrigan says this, his hand on his chest.

“Thank…thank you so much,” he says, eyes tearing up, “I’ve gotta go she her now.”

Morrigan nods and steps back, the farmer rushing down the hall as fast as he can.

Morrigan sighs, pulling a cigarette from her pack and lighting it.

“It’s a shitty place where you’re thankful you daughter didn’t get raped,” she says, probably to you though she’s not looking, “That someone came to rescue you.” She blows out a cloud of smoke, then actually does turn towards you. “Come on Billy,” she says, taking another puff from her cigarette, “Let’s go see what Nem and Cath found. You nod, following Morrigan downstairs.

Nem and Cath meet you outside, Nem looking a bit down while Cath looks just the same as ever.

“Find anything good?” asks Morrigan as the two approach.

“No,” says Nem, holding out a bit of ammo to each of you, again just enough to make up for the rounds you’ve expended, “Just a bit of ammo, no weapons worth taking back.”

Cath shakes her head yes, then holds out a small pouch looking thing to Morrigan.

“What the…” she says, taking it and opening it up, examining the interior. “Where the hell did they get an intact IFAK from?”

Cath just shrugs.

“Well, it’s a good thing to have,” says Morrigan, “But I’m pretty sure you don’t want it?”

Cath shakes her head no.

“I know you don’t want it, right Nem?”

“Hell no,” says the little blond, “I like cutting and breaking, not fixing.”

“And I’ve got all the skill of a fumble fingered drunk,” says Morrigan, before she turns and tosses the pack to you, “That means you get it Billy, you were reading that book earlier anyway.”

>Obtained: Tier 1 Medkit. +2 on Medical rolls.
>>
>>37956447
“Anyway, we should see if…” Morrigan starts, before the farmer and his daughter come up to you.

“I just wanted to thank you all again,” says the farmer, “And I wanted to ask if you could take us back to Fort Riley, I don’t think me and Susie here are going to stay, not after this.”

“Well…,” says Morrigan, “We’re not exactly a babysitting service but…”

“I know, I know,” says the farmer, “We can pay you, I was going to anyway as thanks for saving our hides. But an escort back would be much appreciated.”

“Sounds good,” says Morrigan with a sudden grin, taking the man’s hand and pumping it, “Don’t take too long though, we should get headed out soon.”

“Right, thank you again,” says the farmer, his daughter nodding along with him.

It only takes about forty five minutes for the pair to get ready, a wad of bills appearing from somewhere in the farmers house as they pack a wagon full of what they consider important and hook up some horses to it.

“Alright,” says Morrigan as they’re finally ready, “Who’s going in the wagon with them?”

Just got here, I think you should keep the main cast smaller but I think it would be cool to have a bunch of mooks as our fellow MMS members that you could use to liven up the world.

Like Will over hears some people talking about him and how he really did a good job saving someone or something.

The main cast is the top squad and sometimes we work with the newer ones on jobs. Would also let you add one off chars here and there to make it more fun for you to write.

You think about possibly riding in the wagon, but it looks awfully full of things that the farmer and his daughter packed and that means somebody else should ride. You only got to ride when it was important for you to do so anyway. By the time you’ve thought of this, Nem’s hand has shot up anyway.

“Ooh, Ooh, dibs,” she says, almost bouncing on her toes, “Pick me.”

“Fine, fine, up you go,” says Morrigan, gesturing with her hand, “You’re our eyes though.”

“Yeah because four or five feet of height is going to make all the difference,” says Nem as she climbs up.

“It might,” says Morrigan, even as the farmer climbs up onto the seat, taking the long rope like things into his hands and making a noise, starting the wagon on its way, “So don’t slack off.”

“Yeah, yeah,” says Nem, perched on top of the highest stable thing on the wagon, which looks like a box of some kind.

The journey back to Fort Riley is much different than the journey there, as you aren’t going at much over a walking pace. About halfway through the ride, you hear a cough from the wagon and turn your head. It’s the farmer’s daughter who had been chatting with Nem. Apparently she’s done and has turned her attentions to you.

“Hi,” she says a little strangely, her cheeks turning red for some reason, “I just wanted to thank you all for saving me like you did. My name’s Susie, what’s yours?”

Strange…you aren’t used to people giving you their name unless you need to know it.

While you aren’t used to people telling you their names, you are used to answering their questions. So even if this one is a little different than “Why haven’t you fixed the roof yet?” or “Why the hell did my gun jam?” it’s still a question and you should still probably answer.

“William,” you reply.

“It’s nice to meet you William,” says the girl, smiling at you, “I’m actually really glad I got to meet you, otherwise…” she shudders a little bit then continues talking. “I mean, it’s not like I wouldn’t want to meet you under normal circumstances, it’s just that I was so surprised when you all showed up, those guys were so scary! They had guns! I mean, how do you even do something like that…”

The rest of the journey back continues much like that. The girl talks a lot, occasionally asks you a question and you respond with yes or no unless it’s something you don’t know, then you said as much. You aren’t sure why, but by the time you make it back to Fort Riley, the girl seems slightly sad as you all stop at the MMS building, the wagon continuing on further into the fort.

“Bye Will!” says the girl, “Thanks so much for talking to me! Maybe we’ll see each other again!”

She waves her hand at you as they disappear through the market, so you raise your hand in response just before they disappear.

“Look at Will!” says Nem, “Breaking hearts like a real Merc already.”

You simply cock your head at Nem’s statement, you don’t think you broke any hearts today, most of your shots were to the head. Well maybe that second target…you did shoot him in the chest.

As you enter the building, Mary looks up at you from her desk, her clothes different from the ones she had on before.

“How’d it go?” she asks, her voice concerned.

“Better than could really be expected,” says Morrigan, pulling out a wad of money that seems bigger than the last and handing it to Mary, “We managed to save the other two, twelve dead bandits. Mostly junk on the bandits again, got paid to bring them back.”

“That’s good…,” says Mary, even as she begins to count out the money again, once more handing it out evenly, “I was worried about you seeing as…”

“We’re fine,” says Morrigan, taking her pile, “Guy paid us a little extra really, didn’t even get a scratch on us.”

“As long as it ended well,” says Mary, holding out your portion of the money once more, which you take.

>Mission reward $400. Will’s cut, $80. Total Money, $90.

“Yep,” says Morrigan, shrugging out of her gear and handing it to Cath, “I think me and Nem are going to go down to Doc’s to celebrate.

“Don’t get too rowdy,” says Mary, her face immediately losing a bit of its cheer.

You shake your head at Cath and instead hold out your hand. You see her face move a little bit, a small almost smile on her face as she hands you Nems gear, hefting Morrigan’s as the two leave for Doc’s.

The two of you head the opposite direction, back towards the armory. This time as you and Cath set down the gear, she stands next to you. As you start to clean Morrigan’s rifle, she cleans Nem’s shotgun. Finishing near the same time you hand yours to her to check and she does the same. You’re a little surprised, you don’t usually check others work, but you do so anyway. Cath does good work it seems, so you have nothing to fix. The same goes for yours and Cath’s weapons, all cleared and cleaned without issue and mutually checked.

As you turn to the armor, you look at Cath, unsure as to what to do.

“Watch,” she says to you, her quiet voice once more surprising you as she turns to check over the armor.

You watch carefully, observing as Cath cleans any trace of dirt or blood of the important pieces of the gear. As she finishes it, she hands you the piece, which you examine closely.

As you hand it back, Cath nods and sets it in the correct spot, then hands you a set of armor.

“Me?” you ask her, to which she nods.

You nod in return, then begin to clean the armor, which you recognize as yours. As you do so, Cath cleans the other two sets of armor. By the time you finish, Cath has done the other two and holds out her hand to examine your work.

Judging by her reactions, small as they are, you did an ok job, though she points out a few spots that need brushing up. When you do finally finish, Cath hangs up the last of the gear and then heads out the door to the lobby.

“Are you going after them?” Mary asks as you and Cath appear.

Cath nods, then turns to you.

You nod to Cath and she turns back to Mary, who sighs.

“Keep those two in check,” she says as you follow Cath out the door.

The route back to Doc’s is familiar enough, Fort Riley isn’t all that big and it’s really the only place you’ve been besides the market and the Army post. You follow Cath inside as she opens the door, not pointing at the sign this time though you remember to note it anyway. Inside is dark like before, the dim lighting not having changed much from yesterday.

As you walk through the middle towards the bar again, you don’t hear the sounds of fighting like before, instead you just hear the gentle murmur of conversation and the clink of glasses. A few of the people glance at you as you walk by, but nothing like what you got last time. Reaching the bar, you discover both Nem and Morrigan on stools, drinking a brownish liquid from a bottle between the two of them.

“Finally decided to join us?” says Morrigan as you approach, taking a swig from the glass.

Cath nods, taking a seat next to Morrigan, so you take a seat next to her as Morrigan pours herself another drink.

Doc moves down the bar when you sit, his deep voice seeming to boom in the small space.

“Usual for you Cath?” he asks, to which she nods. Doc immediately reaches under the bar and pulls out a different bottle, this one clear and pours a glass for Cath, who nods again in thanks.

“Anything for you?” he asks, turning towards you, even as you begin to feel someone’s eyes on you.

“Do you have water?” you ask Doc, who nods and turns, pulling out a small glass as he reaches for a tap that is behind the bar.

“Here you go little man,” he says, “Though you best not be only having water all the time, makes a man a bit cranky you hear?”

You nod at Doc as you take a sip of the water.

“Good man,” he says, “You don’t look like much of a drinker though, if you get hungry for some meat, you come see me ok? I’ll hook you up real good.”

You nod to Doc, who goes down to the other end of the bar as someone calls out.

“Yeah Billy,” says Nem, giggling even as that feeling continues on the back of your neck, “Doc likes nice paying customers, make sure you buy a drink every now and then! Besides, you should learn how to drink with the rest of us!”

“Ok,” you say, turning your head about, looking around the bar for whatever is bugging you. You look twice, not seeing whoever it is before you finally notice.

Back in one of the corners is a woman. You aren’t sure how you missed her before, she’s wearing an outfit that has a lot of white on it along with her light colored hair. But somehow the lighting back in that corner is extra dim, giving her face a shadowed look that allows her to blend in.

As she notices you looking at her, you see her mouth curl upwards into a smile. Her hand lifts up towards you, then she crooks a finger, inviting you to come towards her.

No anon, this quest is all about waifus, fighting alongside waifus, cleaning guns and gear with waifus, going drinking with waifus, buying blankets with waifus, and then at long last, cuddling with waifus.

When do we run into named male characters that are interesting?

You quirk your head at the lady, unsure as to what to do before you turn back to the others from MMS.

“Who’s that?” you ask, drawing the attention of all three of your compatriots.

“Who’s who?” asks Morrigan, turning around and looking about the bar, “If it’s that slut again…”

“No,” you say, then point back to the corner, where the lady is still sitting, smirking a little bit now, “Her.”

Morrigan peers back into the corner, then shakes her head and turns to chug from her glass again. “I dunno,” she says, her words starting to sound funny, “Don’t care either.”

“I don’t know her either,” says Nem, “I never tried to pick-pocke…I mean I’ve never seen her before.”

Cath just shakes her head at you and then turns back to her drink, which you notice she sips instead of chugs like Nem or Morrigan.

“Is it okay if…” you start to ask them.

“Yeah, yeah, do whatever you want,” says Morrigan, “We’re off duty, don’t ask me what to do all the time.”

You nod and then turn your head back towards the woman, who smiles at you once more and crooks her finger twice more.

You decide to…you decide to go see what the woman wants. It’s…a little different than normal. You probably didn’t have to go to her, but you made a choice. You aren’t really used to that.

She smiles even more as you step up to her table, her eyes sparkling a little bit.

“Oh you’re almost perfect,” she says, her eyes looking over you, “You’ve got the instincts, the potential. That pistol might as well belong on your hip. You even took the time to do some recon on me.”

She smiles even more, then leans over the table a little bit, her strange clothes moving about.

You blink at the lady, confused.

“What?” you say.

“Hmm?” she says, “What?”

“What are you offering?” you re-iterate, wondering what the lady is trying to sell or give you. Hopefully it doesn’t cost too much, you still don’t know all that much about money and you aren’t sure how often you’re going to get paid. They might even decide that you don’t need to keep it.

The ladies smile widens as you ask her the question, her eyes sparkling even more. You think you’ve seen the look before, but you can’t really remember where.

“It is you,” she says, sitting back upright and adjusting her clothes, the smile apparently permanent on her face, “You’re perfect. After so many disgusting little…” she stops, then re-focuses herself on you. “They don’t matter,” she says, standing and approaching you.

You track her movements, watching as she steps closer to you and then leans over just a bit her eyes latching onto yours once more.

She reaches out, her hand almost touching your face before she stops.

“So so perfect,” she says, her fingers only an inch from your cheek, “But still…you don’t know. You have no idea. I have no way to take you from them despite all that I would offer you.”

You quirk your head at her again slightly, “But you haven’t offered me anything,” you say, still rather confused.

The woman chuckles again, leaning closer to you.

“What would you say if I offered you a chance to come to my bed with me?” she asks you, her tone changing somehow.

I'm getting the feeling that our naive, good, innocent nature is exactly what her fetish/interest is. Our confused answer is probably going to turn her on even MORE.

Maybe she wants to see us become a perfect, untainted soldier that she can gently snuggle in bed?
>>
>>37960963

It will be the most pleasant and comfy kidnapping to ever happen. By the time the girls come rescue him, they will find Billy being cuddled by her, drinking milk and reading books.

Then she will kill the rest of our team so Billy has more free time to spend with her.

You blink at the woman, wondering where to even start with how strange her statement is. You decide to start with the beginning; you guess she probably doesn’t know that part.

“I don’t sleep on beds,” you say to her, causing her to blink, “They put one in my room, but I don’t think it’s mine, they’re probably going to move it soon once they remember. They gave me a blanket though and let me buy another one.”

The woman’s face is…strange looking now. You aren’t really sure how to describe it. She’s breathing deeper though, maybe she’s hot.

“But why would I want to sleep in a bed with you?” you ask her, “That would be crowded, wouldn’t it?”

The woman is breathing even heavier now, her hands clenching into fists repeatedly.

“You…you…” she says, suddenly closing her eyes and turning away from you, reaching out to grab a bottle from her table and chugging it in one go, the entire bottle disappearing until she sets it down, taking a big gasp of air as she leans over the table, her hair falling down around her head.

“You…you should go,” she says, “Go now.”

You blink again, still rather confused as to what’s going on with the women or what she’s saying.

Is samefagging a huge issue with phones?
>>

Yeah, I have a tablet, 2 computers, and a android phone. All count as different things in regards to votes and appearing as samefagging. Not that I samefag, I actually have a shread of integrity.

But I do do it to help bump up quests I like in the archives.
>>
>>37961942
So can web browsers for that matter. Or tabs.
>>
>>37961933
a guy can post votes on their computer and their phone for that one extra push.
>>
>>37961744

Funny thing is, Will's character more than anything, guides him toward the help option. No metagaming needed.

I personally didn't vote since I was late to the vote, but I would have voted to ask her if she needs help, and I've never seen the anime that she's from.

Will's socially starved, and is almost desperate to prove himself useful. While a more balanced person might be creeped out or disturbed, Will is simply confused. She's been relatively nice, and since the girls didn't warn him of anything, he has little reason to run off.

The same thing that has kept him alive is long due to get him into some interesting situations.
>>
>>37961933
iPadfag here. I see what they mean, it would allow you to post "proof" that you aren't samefagging while in actuality you are.

I realize that this is practically testifying against myself, but I felt the need to explain.

>and is almost desperate to prove himself useful.
No he is not...
>>
>>37961869
>>37961942
>>37961958
It's IP dependent.
If your tablet, computers, and phone all connect to the same router, then they will all show up as coming from the same IP address to the rest of the world.
Of course, there are ways around this, but that defeats the purpose of a router, and you may as well use a hub at that point.
Most ISP's use MAC addresses to track who they give IP addresses to on their DHCP tables. I've heard that some ISP's don't, and so some anons can simply restart their routers/cable modems to get new IP addresses, but that's only for shit-tier ISP's, since that's against IEEE standards.
>>
>>37962032
He almost wigged out at breakfast because he didn't have something to do.
>>
>>37962032

You really should read the quest, it's been made pretty clear he's desperate to be useful, because it's what has kept him ALIVE all this time.

That part of his personality is not going away anytime soon.
>>
>>37962032
You're joking right?
>>
>>37962055
Or your router can use a dynamic IP and not be a pleb tier piece of crap.
>>
>>37962055
No it's not
>>
>>37962055
Yeah but I can just jack my neighbor's wifi, turn on 3G and 4G data, and other things. I could still get a good 4-5 votes in even if it is IP based without using a dynamic IP.
>>
>>37962071
I've been here since the start so don't use that argument you retard, he's not desperate to help out, he helps out because he knows how to and wants to, thats not being desperate at all. You need to read a dictionary and go back to school.
>>
>>37962128

Guess what we answered?

"You were useful."

So. You can knock off trying to be an ass, because you're just plain wrong. We have survived to get this far by being useful.

Maybe YOU need to read that nice dictionary, sadly.
>>
>>37962055
He's talking about external ip which for most isp accounts is one address not local. Remember the router's broadcast upstreams via one ip. Now you can spoof ip's, but that is not your argument.

No, no you don't know.

Here, I'll even quote verbatim the first few lines after we made that decision.

"You made yourself useful. Early on you figured out it wasn’t enough to just be a killer. Almost anyone could point a gun or throw a grenade at whoever you happened to be fighting that day or week. That just meant there was more of a chance to get shot or stabbed or exploded in turn.

So you made yourself useful in any way you could."

Being useful is ALL WE HAVE. It's up to the girls and anyone else we meet to change that focus, because we have literally known nothing else since we lost our parents.

The only moron here is you, apparently. Just stop trolling.

The lady seems to be distressed somehow, you aren’t exactly why but it might have something to do with you, she was fine before you got here. You remember a few times when something was your fault at The Compound, it was always better to fix it first than to try and let someone else do it. So you approach the woman, wondering if you can help.

“Can I…” you say, moving close to the woman before she suddenly reaches out and grabs you by your collar, triggering your fighting instincts as your thrown towards the table, scattering the few small cups and the bottle she had as she suddenly pins you down, your hand moving towards her throat.

Her other hand lashes out though, grabbing yours with a surprising bit of strength as she pins you to the table, her eyes ablaze and getting closer to you.

“If only I’d found you a little bit sooner…” she says, even as you struggle with her, her grip and the way she has you pinned meaning she has all the leverage she needs to keep you that way since your feet are scrabbling inches off the ground as her face gets closer to yours.

Suddenly you see a large hand grasp the woman’s shoulder, the woman being pulled off of you by that hand. The woman turns to lash out at whoever’s attacking her, but by doing so she lets go of your hand, allowing you to counter and grab hers before it gets anywhere, surprising her as you manage to grab a hold and stop her, your other arm trying to latch around her throat.

The strange tableau is broken as you hear a yell coming from the bar and the woman suddenly stops struggling, Cath having grabbed her other arm as it tried to lash out at her and the woman being in a bad position for kicking unless she wants to fall.

You see Morrigan moving towards you, Nem close behind as Cath grimaces slightly at the woman.

“What the hell’s going on!” she says, looking between you the other lady and Cath.

“I don’t know,” you say, a little confused but not letting go of the woman, who seems to be breathing hard again, though that might have something to do with your arm partially around her throat, “We were talking about beds when she started to get red, then I tried to help her and she grabbed me.”

Morrigan looks at you, her eyes a little fuzzy as she turns slightly to the other woman.

“What the hell is your problem bitch?” she asks, even as you and Cath keep her held down, “What did Billy do to you? You looking to start something?”

The lady tries to speak, but between the partial pressure you have on her throat and the awkward angle she’s at, it’s pretty much gibberish.

“Billy, let go of her throat,” Morrigan says, which you do, though you don’t let go of the woman’s hand.

The lady coughs a few times, getting air back before she tries to speak again.

“My apologies,” says the woman, “I didn’t mean to cause a scene.”

“Yeah, well what the hell did you mean then?” asks Morrigan, getting up in the woman’s face.

“I just wanted to speak with your friend here,” she says, “But I had a little too much to drink and I let myself go a bit too far with my advances. I mean no harm.”

Morrigan stares at the woman, then turns to you.

“Billy, are you alright?” she asks you.

You nod, not having gotten more than the wind knocked out of you in the brief scuffle.

Morrigan pauses for a second and then turns to look back towards the bar, where Doc is eyeing your group carefully, cleaning a glass, before turning back to all of you.

“Let her go Cath,” she says, “We don’t need any more trouble with Doc.”

Cath pauses for a moment and then her hands release their grip on the woman, who keeps her hand in place until Cath takes a step back.

“Billy let her go too,” says Morrigan.

You release her hand, allowing the woman to finally stand back upright and step back from your group.

When she does you stand up as well, moving back towards Cath and Morrigan.

“You cause trouble like that again,” Morrigan says to the woman, “I’ll take it out on you personally.”

“There will be no more…trouble,” says the woman, her eyes flicking towards Morrigan but mostly remaining on you, “Like I said I meant for none of it to happen in the first place.”

“Make sure of it,” says Morrigan, before turning and heading towards the door, “Come on Billy, Cath, let’s get out of here before Doc kicks us out again.”

You nod and follow Morrigan, the other woman’s eyes never quite leaving you. As you reach the door, you see her smile and wave at you before you step outside.

Following Morrigan and Cath back, Nem having decided to follow too, your mind is filed with questions again, but you aren’t sure you should ask them.

>Apologize to Morrigan.
>Ask why you would sleep in the same bed with someone.
>Ask if they know why someone would turn red for no reason.
>Just be quiet.

That'd be pretty great. That shota faggot was really annoying, even after he got competent.

I'm curious what everyone's reactions will be to the second question, especially since they all must suspect by now that something went really, really wrong with Will's youth.

Guide actually posted a pic of her in HPQ back before I started following it. The fact that no one seemed to react to it has caused me to mildly freak out that she has the chance to show up there of all places which I'm not against at all whatsoever.

Oh they know he's off alright. Cath saw him sleeping on the floor, Morrigan knows he literally has no idea what sex is or any concept of innuendos, and there was breakfast where it became painfully obvious he had no idea what real food was.

If they don't have a clue he's damaged goods with a capital D they're more dense then he is!
>>
Alright, you're clearly pushing Will to be social, he's asking more than one question at a time even!

Writing.

>>
>>37963179
Damn straight. If he has a social score of 0 by the end of this I will be happy with just that.

I just wonder how this is gonna go. If it wasn't obvious before he's got problems it sure as FUCK will now.

Morrigans possibly going to be so shocked the trademark cig falls out of her gaping mouth. Cath might even speak for a change!
>>
>>37963260

>>
>>37963277
Part of my cunning plan! The more we can subtly push Will to showcase his issues subtle or otherwise the more we can appeal to the girls to help us out here in getting him out of being the living robot war machine!

Seriously we can only nudge Wills psyche. We need outside influence to setup situations we can help him grow socially. We need those girls on our side here!
>>
>>37963338
Thanks for contributing to the conversation anon!
>>
>>37963348
>We need those girls on our side here!
We need them in our blanket pile too.
>>
>>37963260
Personally I don't want his social score to go up. I kinda like it better that he's the silent type, not enough of those in quests.
>>
>>37963396
There is a world of difference between Silent Type and Mentally Challenged.

Also heads up Guide, threads on page 9
>>
>>37963396
Yeah I agree but, I imagine he could still be the silent type with a high social.
>>
>>37963396
Current best case scenario for Will is 0 soc score, you can still have your quiet type while me grind our soc score.
>>
>>37963396
Jonah from Jormungand is more well adjusted than Will is. He needs help.
>>
>>37963396
My personal opinion is that the social scale doesn't indicate how social someone is, but instead it indicates social awareness.
>>
>>37963410
I know, I've been watching.
>>
>>37963428
And that's saying something.
>>
>>37963396
Logically speaking we probably won't get him past a 0 or 1. Even if we pull him around he's not likely to be a talker at all in his life.

Hell Guide himself said it'll be one hell of a feat if we manage to get him to 0 social level.
>>
>>37963435
What would you rate John's social score, Guide?
>>
>>37963468
11/10 because shenanigans.
>>
>>37963489
Is that for Will or John? Because John's social score is off the charts more than a measly 11/10.
>>
>>37963536
It's like the amount of attraction points he has with Slendere: It's easier to just let it stay as "a lot"
>>
>>37963536
Ok, true.

John's is 100^99/10.

I'm thinking I need to adjust either Will or Cath's score, because I don't think the numbers match up how they thought I would.
>>
>>37963567
How I thought they would.

You decide that first you should apologize to Morrigan, Cath didn’t seem all that upset but Morrigan definitely was. Nem always seems happy. But Morrigan definitely likes Doc’s and you keep making her leave.

“Sorry Morrigan,” you say your voice a little quiet, prepared for nearly anything, especially a beating. Having to apologize for something generally meant a beating back at The Compound.

Morrigan lets out a breath, not turning around towards you. “It’s fine Billy,” she says, he voice a little heavy, “I don’t think it’s your fault, not on purpose at least. Just don’t go wandering up to strange women in bars again ok?”

“Ok,” you say, a small, very small amount of confidence building in you that it might be ok to ask questions.

You walk along for another minute or so, getting near the market again before you speak once more.

“Morrigan?” you ask.

“What Billy?” she says, not angry but clearly not excited, so you decide to make it quick.

“Why would someone turn red really fast?” you ask, “And why would you want to sleep in a bed with someone else?”

You almost walk into Morrigan as she stops suddenly, coughing again. You turn to look at Cath, whose face is lit up like the other ladies was, though she’s not breathing heavily. A sound from your right turns out to be Nem laughing.
>>
>>37963752
“Damnit Billy,” says Morrigan again, this time turning towards you, “What the hell did that chick say to you?”

You shrink back a little, turning your head in case she decides to hit you.

“She said she wanted to offer me something,” you say quickly, “Then she asked me if I wanted to go to bed with her. I didn’t know why she asked…I don’t get to sleep on beds anyway and it would be crowded.”

Morrigan’s face does…something. You aren’t sure what it does, but it goes from mildly aggravated to…sad? Before it turns back to normal.

“Billy…” says Morrigan, “Just…just ignore that question for right now, ok?”

You nod at her, afraid to push your luck.

“And if any other strange women or even that one comes up to you again, you ignore them and come find me ok?”

You nod.

“Say it out loud Billy.”

“Ok,” you say.

“Good,” says Morrigan, before turning and heading back towards MMS.

You follow behind, looking at Cath, who doesn’t meet your eye, then Nem, who seems more subdued than normal.

“Billy?” asks Morrigan as you walk through the market.

“Yes?” you say quietly.

“That bed in your room is yours,” she says, “You’re allowed to sleep on it.”

Your mind nearly locks up at that statement. Beds are for…beds are for Not You. But Morrigan says that one is?

The group is silent as you enter the MMS building, Mary greeting you like normal. But for some reason, even as you go to your room, you think everyone is looking at you funny.

Maybe it’s because you did something wrong and they want you to fix it. You should try to find out. You don’t sleep on the bed, even though Morrigan said it was yours. You’re still not sure you like the idea. But you do decide to try out the pillow. It’s soft, very soft compared to the floor. You wonder if the bed is the same as you fall asleep.

And end of thread.

We've reached page ten, hit some points on William's path to learning how to not be completely fucked in the head and made a slightly scare lady want to bone you harder than your hips could probably take.

Next thread will probably be a timeskip, something I plan on happening semi-regularly, just a week or two since Merc's don't go out on jobs every single day.

I'll be around like normal, probably until the thread falls off the board, but long enough to answer questions.

Had a St.Bernard like that. Lovable kind of slow sometimes. Knocked down a six foot section of fence because I fell off my bike on the other side.
>>
If it keeps going like this I can see the girls just literally forcing Will into talking about all the shit that went down. and when he tries to run (because we'd do it for laughs don't deny it) they'd chase him down, hogtie him and drag him back to the chair and tie him to it.

What happens next is a mix between an interrogation and feels central. and may or may not end with multiple females hugging Will out of pity and wanting to comfort him.
>>
>>37964225
I wonder how much Will has locked down though.

Like, straight up just does not want to/can't remember.

I miss him
>>
>>37964276
Yeah.

But I mean, what then?

He doesn't even know that he should be attracted to women or that one of them probably wants to jump him.

The can't just be all "Hey Will, you us, sexytimes, it's good for you we swear."
>>
>>37964225
I kinda see Will just telling it all out without any noticeable change because he doesn't realize how fucked up it is. Then he will look up and see the girls crying and start asking what he did wrong.
>>
I can totally see Billy not being able to sleep on the bed because of how soft it is compared to the floor.
>>
>>37964328
They're probably a little fucked up too, especially Cath since she doesn't talk. Will likely takes the cake.

Hopefully after this they might broach on what life was like for Will..before the company.
