Our Current Stats: http://pastebin.com/iahm4JSj (Please have a look at them, but don't feel obligated to read it all in one sitting- use it as a guideline if you're drawing a blank or need some contextual information as I've essentially compiled every piece of information that's relevant to our civilization.)
Our Current Bestiary: http://pastebin.com/TWY0QfWA (Please have a look, but don't feel obligated to read it in one sitting- it's VERY extensive and currently in "alpha" since I'd like to make an illustrated pdf.)

Last time we discovered numerous arcane and historical secrets after another: the intentions of Mycea's plans concerning akalade and the one we've known as "The Great Progenitor", The Hydra mother has revealed her plans for reincarnation, The Gorgon empire continues to grow in strength, we established contact with the changlings, and invented our first vehicle; the magical flying pot.

>+New Feature: Long Term Trends and Developments are now listed on the stats- please have a look at them when you can. "Temporary" or developments as they happen will be now listed on initial posts like always.

>+Political and Economical Development: The Gorgon Empire has Discovered Alchemy
>The Gorgon empire has begun blowing and producing their own glass and one of the first things they have found out with it is that it makes excellent Flasks, Beakers, and other necessary equipment for Alchemy. Alchemy is the application of subtle forms of magic applied to real world chemistry- and the Gorgons excel at it due to their extensive knowledge of both inorganic and organic compounds facilitated by their sensitivity to magic once thought impractical.
(post 2 incoming, please be patient)
>>
>>37909508

>+Political Development: Mycea is enacting her plan.
>Akalade's pod is being transported and is en-route to Mycea's Grove. It will take a few Months to get there, but she has sent the latest reincarnation of the Hydra Mother (who is the current empress of the gorgon empire) to assist in it's travel and protection. Once it has arrived she will begin cultivating her spores within it before ejecting it into the ocean in order to infect, rot, and consume the great Progenitor. The entire plan will take a few years, but promises interesting and revolutionary results.

>+/- Personal Development: Akalade is on the move.
>Akalade's mood has improved and he is continuing his mission. He no longer resides on the Home Island and has instead moved to the Coastal City on the Mainland. There seems to be an air of urgency and almost paranoia behind his actions that had not been displayed previously in his work.

As always, please go ahead and roll for 2 Actions and 1 Idea.
I'm terribly sorry for the wait, but better late then never!

Here's an idea: the manticore tribe respect/worship mycea right?

Why don't we ask her to help us explain the benefits of working together rather then raiding other gorgon tribes.

We should phrase it like this- instead of using their skills and knowledge to rob, they could instead be road wardens and guides, and receive payment from travelers and also get to fight monsters, wild animals and others who might mean ill will to travelers

So I just want to be clear on what I've read... we're a multiracial empire, primarily cyclops but also including gorgons now, who have recently encountered other civilizations for the first time formally, and through that are undergoing a cultural and technological revolution?

Tech level is basically about mid greek dominance of the Mediterranean? Fall of Troy and such?

We have our own island (which is the southern landmass on the map) which is not fully explored I think? What do the various colors of arrow represent? Trade routes? Also is that a northern landmass or a series of islands or just 'explored' regions of the world?

so new guy here, just a thought upon reading the pastebins...

I don't suppose we might want to do something about this whole occultist movement should we? Maybe make some sort of motion to get them organized and a little bit out in the open if only to avoid the whole 'accidentally the whole continent' by a spell gone wrong? I know the whole merfolk thing is probably going to take precedence, but feels like maybe we want to tackle that thing sooner rather than later...

>>
>>37910125
I get it... Mycea is a tragic figure, and she has a sad sack story, and yeah I agree with her that the Deep Eye is a threat; its just that this whole scenario expects a whole lot from us, and throws us under the bus somewhat. I mean she asks US to get Akalade's pod, she is putting a lot of responsibility on US to defend her and make sure she is okay while she prepares to deal a deathblow to the old god.

Plus there is the fact that she's consorting with other gods/beings behind our back it seems. Like the Gorgon Empress, and others.

>Create tools to make working with and/or creating Textiles easier

>Failure. +Gorgon Influence

Silk is produced through a seemingly simple manner: Silk cocoons spun by Moth Larvae are boiled and then the threads are unspun from the cocoon before they're treated, dried, and re-spun to make clothing. From a Cyclopes perspective this is an incredibly time consuming procedure as silk is VERY small, but Gorgons do it almost by second nature and it isn't uncommon to see Gorgon Mothers and Grand Mothers spinning silk with little less than a roll of wood.

The Gorgon Empire has LOOMS though and so does the Spider Tribe; it's gradual and slow, but over time you DO eventually come to possess the Silk loom.

>+Silk loom equipment Discovered
>The Silk looming equipment is a series of wooden devices that include a loom and spinning wheel that allow silk to be threaded for the production of cloth. It allows for a much larger boon to the sericulture cottage company as now families can spin easily spin excess silk clothing to sell and trade. Silk looms are also revolutionary in that particularly large ones can be used even by Cyclopes- as a normal person might do cats cradle.

I think we should deal with the Incest and pedophilia first.
>>
>>37910272
Well then what motivation do we have to turn on her or disbelieve her? What's the progenator done for the cyclops? Mycea's given them homes, helped them secure hex trade goods, given them companionship, and has been nothing but a friend. I don't see a reason to turn on her.
>>
Let's focus on building up our defenses and expanding the mining town for now.

>Develop steel.
>Roll 19/20
>Success, but without "acknowledgment".

Currently your Iron works and iron production are the envy of every neighboring nation: Your bellows and blast forges produce some of the finest quality iron that knows no competition and is shipped out en masse for export to the southern continent and to every corner of Gorgon Civilization.

Steel isn't something you understand or necessarily formally recognize as- you do not make a distinction between "steel" and "regular iron" in the sense that your Smiths and Forgers aim to make the highest quality iron product that they possibly can and in doing so they accidentally make Steel quite frequently.
>>
>>37910271
What's the giant mass of question marks then?

>>37910267
Yeah, and that's the thing. Why not create a space for them that doesn't REQUIRE them to be all secretive and shit? But to be able to share their gifts without fear of persecution?

Rather than you know, forcing them to do something bad, we create a university or something where they can safely practice their arts for the benefit of all rather than in secluded covens in abandoned houses and caverns?

It allows all of the various occultists to pool their knowledge. It gives them a safe haven from the superstitious, and it also creates an environment where we can more easily CATCH such cultists who are actually doing evil things or risking lives.

The big issue is this. We can wait. And they can continue to work in fear and obscurity and secrecy (which seems to be why they're not working publicly, for fear of being discriminated against), and it's only a matter of time before one nutjob to take on the role of magneto or similar, decides to use that occult lore for BAD JUJU!

Hell, even if we have a SMALL cult that accidently opens a gate to hell or cthulhu-land because they were tricked or just didn't realize the spell they got their hands on, if that is their FIRST major effect, collectively, on the civilization? This is all going to go down hill FAST and will likely irrevocably taint the image of occultists in the eye of the average citizen.

>>37910324
When it's discovered, it leads to beatings and lynchings... I think the only thing we really need to do is make a few examples in every village and we'll be good... it can become big, but I don't think it's got the same opportunity to go big in as awful a way as the whole occultism thing.

That said, yeah... probably want to nail it sooner rather than later as well.
>>
>>37910449
Can they make steel deliberately, even if they only think of it as high quality iron?

Like if someone came in and said "I want a sword like that [steel] sword" would they be able to do it?
>>
>>37910465

Also, back on the whole occultism thing. We're about to mess with a major occult figure. That's going to cause some major power vacuums in the metaphysical space of the world right? Do we really want to deal both with war with the merfolk if this is traced back to us, AND occultist groups suddenly coming into contact with beings formerly sworn to a giant cthulhu-beast-god-thing, who now want to take his place? At the same time?
>>
>>37910465
Question marks are the Plains, inhabited by changelings, ant folk and others we have yet to meet
>>
>>37910465
>Why not create a space for them that doesn't REQUIRE them to be all secretive and shit? But to be able to share their gifts without fear of persecution?
So a Wizard School?

Maybe one with some Exorcists/Hunters as security staff in case stuff goes pearshaped.
>>
>>37910465
Why not have occultists focused towards a job? Formalize them like we did the guilds, and Give them different tasks to solve- monster hunting, treatment of disease, the appeasement of spirits are all great places to start, maybe they each can be dedicated around a particular place, like a cave or monolith and make them like Shrine Wardens
>>
>>37910465
>Rather than you know, forcing them to do something bad, we create a university or something where they can safely practice their arts for the benefit of all rather than in secluded covens in abandoned houses and caverns?
Basically, rather than saying "YOU MUST GO IN THE CIRCLE APOSTATE SCUM!" we say "Hey, you guys want to study occultism right? Magic? Why not come to this place we've created just for it? You can trade information, get easy access to the supplies you need, and even have professional, formalized tutors who know what they're doing and how to avoid hurting yourself!"

That's kinda how I see it here...

>>37910553
And yeah. Basically. But instead of making it like the whole mage-templar relationship from Dragon Age, I'd say we go more on the side of Negima, where wizard-fighter combo.

To progress past a certain level in classes, Mages need to pair with someone who is trained in protecting them from magical bullshit and gribblies? Same deal with the exorcist students. To progress beyond a certain point in their studies, they have to pair up with a mage student?

That way we build a bond of trust, rather than hatred, between the two bodies?
>>
>>37910465
I could get behind that if someone comes up with a good way to implement it. A school or college for them. Some kind of meeting of minds with the sage's council. I'm not sure.

>Further the the Floating Pot technology by making it more sustainable and safer.
>Roll 3/20
>Near complete Failure.

Numerous peoples have become inspired by the technology and magical prowess displayed by the presense of the Floating pot: it might by wobbly, it might be a little silly looking, but to dream of flight- could it be possible?

This (un)fortunately leads to dozens of budding and over-confident Cyclope Arcanists whom with little experience, but over active imaginations and ambitions larger than their eyes going forth and proceeding to find out every single way a Flying pot CANNOT work: Some individuals think to make the pot bigger in order to hold more people and the pot ends up unable to carry the weight and proceeds to spin out, Some wish to make the pipes larger or experiment with the metals and end up producing a pot that can't contain the tone and resonations of Hymns and the pots end up shattering- sometimes in mid-air.

One particular group of Cyclopean Arcanists experiment ends in disaster when they try to make as large a flying pot as they possibly can and proceed to make inaccurate measurement; not accounting for some ignored law of physics currently ignorant to them. The Pot's pipes shiver, rattle, the pot clay holds though and become dense- before it finally violently explodes and sends sharp shards of clay everywhere- killing it's pilots and maiming a few by standers.
>>
>>37910676
OH THE CYCLOPSITY!

>Why not have occultists focused towards a job? Sounds good to me. Formalization and welcoming of the occultists is the way to go. We're far less likely to create a hot bed for people who hate society that way, and instead create an environment that is PART of our civilization that they see as welcoming of them and their interests and talents.

Otherwise we're just asking for trouble not to get a head of the train on this.

>>37910643
I say we create a university-town like set up. We approach the biggest cults, ask them to set up their own little university town nearby, or even right next to, one of our biggest cities. Don't isolate them (though maybe provide them with an isolated island they can go to practice and experiment on for stuff they feel is really dangerous).

Each of these 'cults' now becomes a "College of Magic". The founding Colleges form the Council of Magi, which is the leading body that directs the course of the university. Below them is a Sagacious Senate, which is the representative body of the lesser cults that join up afterwards, forming their own "Schools of Magic" rather than full Colleges.

Colleges would basically control entire districts of the university town, where as Schools get individual buildings.

We'd make sure there was at least one "College" (even if we had to found it ourselves) made up of people who studied magic with the specific purpose of cleaning up occult fallout, as well as helping protect their fellow occultists while they did their careful and delicate work. A trusted body of defenders for occultists, who made sure that no one was harmed by the occult gone wrong?
>>
>>37910359
>pedophilia
>minor problem
>minor

I see what you did there. lol
>>
>>37910732
Students would either be welcomed in for their talents, or could pay tuition to the college. Taxes we take in would go to help upkeep of the university town in return for the Council of Magi and the Sagacious Senate assisting us magically as a civilization whenever they could. Striking deals with guilds and providing both infrastructure and military magic as required.

They'd set up a public library, with some sections restricted based on membership into a School or College, representing higher learning that requires an understanding of the underpinnings of a specific school or college before one could do more than hurt themselves practicing such things (also lets the colleges and schools keep their individual identities through the spells they can cast).

A hard and vast rule would be that once somebody joins the university, they're free to join into any other college or school, provided they can pay tuition for classes (or have a scholarship of some sort), and are willing to work from the bottom up.

Doesn't matter if you're an Archmage of College A, if you want to learn the secrets of School C, you'd better start as a student there and work your way up.
>>
>>37910676
OH LORD WHAT HAVE I DONE
>>
>>37910861
tuition would be set by an examining board at the time the school was taking admissions. You go in, you're tested to see if you'd be a good addition to the school. Depending on how much of a credit you were as far as the faculty was concerned, the admissions board would lower or raise your tuition. Yearly tests would determine changes in tuition as well so students would be encouraged to work as hard as possible to keep their tuition low.

Basically how the university tuition and admissions worked in 'Name of the Wind'.
>>
>>37910732
>>37910861
That sounds good. It would be a monumental effort though. I wonder if we'd have to wait for another economic boom and construct it as a wonder.

>>
>>37910911
Might be wise, but we can atleast begin approaching the largest cults and begin pitching the idea to them? If they actively work to help bring about that economic boom so that the wonder that is the University, then that'd bring about a LOT to help encourage the acceptance and existence of it?

>Roll 20/20
>Complete success.

This is something your people had already done of their own volition, but ever since the Death of Akalade's husband years ago he's been quietly surrounded by a cloud of his Husbands descendants: sons, daughters, and other relatives that have accepted and continue to respect Akalade's position within their family. With his work taking him to the mainland; some family members follow with him and a few sympathizers do as well. The Sage council even allows a small entourage of armed individuals whenever he roams outside the city walls to look after the little Elf.

As for the root of Akalade's paranoia; it's more noticed by his family members and close attendants, but Akalade hasn't been sleeping very well, something is calling out to him in his dreams. He spends most of his nights quietly huddled in his room; holding onto himself, other times he spends it gazing at the moon for hours. Most often though he's awoken up in the middle of the night by spasms and choked back gasps of fear.

Akalade refuses to sleep by himself anymore, "Something is coming for me and I don't want to be alone when or if it comes."

The Map is "upside down". Our Lands include the various little islands, The Tip of the mainland and Mycea's Grove- which just borders the mountain range bordering the plains. Coloured Arrows represent trade routes and movement of various factions: Red, Cyclopes. Purple, Gorgon Empire. Pink, Mycea. Blue, Southern Cyclopes.

The Southern landmass is an entirely separate continent; it is a frozen land unthawed in certain locations through geothermal activity and is the home of a Sister Civilization of Southern Inuit/Maori like Cyclopes.

>Provide Support for Mycea's Project
>Roll 11/20
>Minimal Success.
>Mycea: Mother & Father of Fungi, Demi-god of harvest, ex-slave of elves and physical expression of the moon... Will accept your help, but does not want to be a Burden.

The Sage Council wishes to formally begin supporting the Machinations of Mycea; She does not entirely accept, but she also doesn't entirely decline. She's already long received the Pod and has begun cultivating and experimenting a most fertile and aggressive fungal growth. She then addresses the concerns and assistance of your people,

"I appreciate your concern and you know I always welcome your support and company, but I think it would be best if you let me take responsibility from this point onward. The only beings who hold any association with this scheme are currently myself, the Hydra Mother, and through no fault of his own; the elf Akalade." There is a distinct sad and resolved tone to her voice, "If this plan backfires; I do not wish to see your kind held responsible for my actions. I wish the great writhing beast to continue to let his ignorance and arrogance undermine his plans so he can continue to believe I am taking advantage of your kindness- as opposed to the reality of you made aware of my plans."
>>
Might it be time for a simple code of laws? Nothing drastic but we could clearly lay out what punishments fit what crimes. Murder, rape, pedophilia, theivery, etc. are all things we should we should probably have a formal way of dealing with soon.

I'm not so sure incest should be added to the list of crimes but maybe we should actively discourage incestuous couples from producing children. We know enough about medicine now, I think, to know it has negative effects if left unchecked.
>>
>>37911813
so now we're patsies to a cosmic crime. Great. I mean more power to her to "protecting" us. But she is aware that if her plan fails, we'll stand to protect her if the deep things wage war on her... So it isn't much difference. we might be in the long haul regardless.
>>
>>37911813
Seems legit. If she was really trying to fuck us over or leave us holding the bag then she'd gladly welcome us formally and then put us between herself and the merfolk.
>>

The Crime of Lies and the Crime of Theft.

>Develop Alchemy
>Roll 97/100
>HOT 97 +Interesting Results, +Occultism.

They seem to slowly come out of the wood work every so often; not so much Gorgons, but Cyclopes. Cyclopean individuals whom steal themselves away in Caves, abandoned or lop-sided dwellings in distant villages or derelict and over-grown portions of Cities.. there they concoct all manner of both mundane, magical, benign and nefarious experiments all in the name of their own interpretation of what they consider to be the best for the community and the whole.

Their Exile is voluntary- often not wanting to burden or endanger others with the event of their accidental death or the ensuing cross fire. They do however relinquish this exile when they discover something truly astounding: Medicines, Dyes, Potions and Elixirs with all manner of beneficial and interesting Qualities and even sometimes something as mundane as a simple breakthrough in chemistry they wish to share.

>+Alchemy Discovered
>Alchemy is the application of very subtle forms of magic applied to both inorganic and organic compounds for the creation of interesting chemical compounds. Anything from Medicine, Chemical weapons, to even mundane things such as interesting beverages or flavor enhancers are possible through Alchemy.
>+Branching discoveries: +Dyes (Blue, Purple,), +Silver Mining, +Improved Medicine, +Improved Alcohol.
>More complicated dyes produced from Insect and shellfish shells can now be produced with the help of Alchemy. Silver mining requires a complex understand of dangerous and toxic chemicals to separate it from the earth. Alchemy allows for the greater cultivation and application of more powerful medical elixirs, dried medicines and potions. Alchemy also allows for STRONGER Alcohols to be produce- something gorgons didn't consider.

>Idea: Weaponizing the Bells
>Roll 74/100
>Above Average Succes, +Racial Bonus.

Due to your Races peaceful and docile disposition; it doesn't happen on purpose, but it DOES eventually happen due to their deeply ingrained culture surrounding Hymns, Chants, and other forms of vocalized magical practices. Bells were originally created as an instrument for finer magical practices; Bells can be rung with very little effort and in doing so carry a simple tone that resounds constantly and reliable for harmonic experimentation.

Some wise guy eventually found out through proper application and convergence of boisterous in-tone Hymns and Chants; one can effectively with a flick of the wrist, call forth thunder, fire, water, and earth..... It is not completely 100% perfect though or flawless, as someone who is out of tune with their bell can very easily have it backfire upon them with explosive results.

However, the results cannot be ignored; everyone is quite easily dazzled and amazed when an experienced Sage rings his bell and lets loose the resonating call of crackling thunder, boisterous and vivid flames, the rumbling and erupting power of the earth or the tidal forces of water.

Are there still occultist communities out there? Or was this what they were all working along the lines of for the most part?

I still think we should create an environment where they can exile themselves while still being safer.

The school would be a place where NO ONE need be endangered. A containment area as it were?

This might be a project for settlements, building 'wizard's towers' where occultists can gather and train and learn from one another and experiment where help is within easy reach, but the tower itself acts an isolation unit as it were.

You do your experiment at the top of the tower so that if it all goes wahoonie shaped, the explosion is well above the heads of anyone it can hurt, and if anything dangerous is unleashed, it's got a ways to fall and will likely be hurt or even killed by the fall?

Heck, what about compounds within sight of the city walls but still within easy reach? These are people doing their best for our communites with their research. They should share that and expand it?

So next action I'm going to move for the building of "Occult Compounds" where they can work together, share knowledge, while still being isolated from population centers so that they need not worry about their experiments harming others.
>>
>>37912654
A pretty similar plan has already been laid out. We're just waiting for the turn to pass before we try to push it through.
>>
We should really push for making new communities off the islands and the coast. A single tsunami or earthquake can wipe out our whole population.
>>

>Acknowledge and Study the Existence of Current Occultist trends across Cyclopean Territory.
>Roll 65/100
>Lucky 5 roll, Honest results, but not perfect. +Racial Collectivism & Docility. -Gorgon Influence

Occultism has recently begun extremely popular in this coming Hymn and the chorus of our time has been the flow of deep and mysterious arcane secrets and study that many young, budding, Cyclopean individuals feel are too dangerous, disturbing, or unusual to practice in decent and respectable society. Your people however are very forgiving, kind, and patient- and these feelings extend almost endlessly to your own species. Through patience and understanding you are able to catalogue and document the current most popular fields of study:

>+Theology Discovered+
>Theologians are simple and reclusive individuals whom are motivated in their efforts to understand the divine canons that rule and order our universe. In Cyclopean civilization there is much spill over from Astrology, Astromancy, as your gods are often seen as literal rulers of the heavens and cosmic beings such as the Sun, the Moon, and the Stars. The Solar priesthood and the Weeping sages are effectively just "publicly popular" cults.

>+Necromancy Discovered+
>Necromancy from a Gorgon's perspective is the formal study and manipulation of Death. Within Cyclopean Occultism Necromancy is the study of Rot, Fungal Growth, Death, Spirits, Ghosts, with occasional references to the Stars. It is a morbid and misunderstood practice that is seen as distasteful and their practitioners understand this. They believe their work however can potentially save lives.

>+Eldritch Study Discovered+
>Druidism is a faint and distant echoe of the truth: the world as we know it grown from the flesh of deceased ancient beings, the old tales speaking of all life sprouting from the torn asunder and consumed flesh of ancient horrors that haunt even the oldest and most cosmic being's minds and dreams- both preceding and causing all of creation. The disturbing and ancient horrors that lie within the most primordial dreams and echoes of an ancient and savage time are not for the faint of heart; they are to be studied, understood, and taught in the utmost secrecy so that Cyclopean Civilization may come to one day understand the origins and meaning of life.

>+Demonology Discovered+
>This cult was only made aware simply due to how seemingly unique and exclusive it was; Made up of only a very small cult following consisting of a few individuals- with one noticeably being a two-headed Cyclopes. When interviewed or asked what their mission statement was they simply answered,

You guys can feel free to roll for new actions now.
After this set of new Actions Mycea will be ready to enact her plan and that will effectively start taking effect.

>Theology
This one should be easy. Places of learning set up around this would be simplicity itself.

>Necromancy
We gotta fix this. Necromancy, in it's proper place, is not just the resurrection of corpses, it's a place to understand death and to give consolation to those who were beloved of the departed. Necromancers could easily fill the role of priests of death in our society, seeing to the proper care and disposal of corpses, calling on ancestral spirits for guidance, and also helping fight diseases and sickness. Their use of the stars might also put them in a position to work closely with the Theologians.

>Druidism
This one I think needs to be basically made into our occult police force. They best understand the terrible powers that lead to the creation of this world. Making it so that, from top to bottom, the cults of Druids would be made to protect our peoples from these things, perhaps even to police the other occult organizations like the Theologians, Necromancers, and Alchemists, and maybe whatever group is responsible for the magical bells, to see to it they don't stray off the path might be a really good idea.

>Demonology
We need to learn a fuckton more about these guys... but first I think we should work to formalize the Alchemists, Theologians, Necromancers, and Druids. Each needs to be given a place in our society, a function, a purpose beyond simply learning for learning's sake. A reason to exist beyond simple discovery, but a purpose to put these discoveries too.

Demonology, however, sounds bad, and we need to learn a lot more about it.

Current ideas:

Theologians: Basically our current sages right? They made the battle-bells and similar? So they should continue with that. Seems to be our arcane school in some ways.

Alchemists: Healers and scientists of natural philosophy, applying their learning towards commerce and medicine?

Necromancers: Priests of Death, seeing to it that the dead remain unprofaned and that they are treated with respect, guarding grave yards, and helping people deal with the deaths of their loved ones, or even helping the terminally ill or mortally wounded come to terms with their own deaths and be able to accept them. Also working with the spirits of the dead for guidance, protection, and working to see to it that such spirits are able to move onto the afterlife or whatever.

Necromancers might work very closely with alchemists in the study of disease and the body to perfect medicine. They might also work closely with Theologians in the study of the stars. This would help police them and keep them from turning their talents towards profaning the dead.

Druidism: They're playing with fire, but we know such beings exist, and we need to have a base level knowledge of them. We should have our Druids act as guardians, protectors, fighters of the dark things from the dawn of time and protectors of sanity. They might also be good at helping repair the minds of the broken and insane?

>Her Tone takes one of hesitation and discomfort, "Yes, that is technically correct; All forms of Contemporary Druidism (including Necromancy) at their very basis are watered down and safer version of Eldiritch study. It is uncomfortable for me to admit, but all living things tie their origins to those unsavory and ancient creatures." Also time to crack that demonology cult open. We can redeem them. But if we can't we'll have to stop them.
>>

Considering our cultures reverence for mycea, it may be a good point to argue from to halt all research into it for now, or at least until we are so proficient in arcane we can easily brush off any red world influence.

>Develop better logistics
>Roll 17/20
>Success. +Mageocracy, +Meritocracy

Your people are all together very lazy; this isn't a bad thing as it often keeps them out of trouble and most of your endeavors and greatest feats have been from a pure and innocent passion and love for something- often the group as a whole. The problem though is it takes a while to get anything done, people have a tendency to forget things, and if you don't persist in reminding individuals... sometimes projects will even be completely abandoned because they are "too hard"- afterwards being picked up again months later.

This has stopped. The Development of better logistics, record keeping, and people who are genuinely quite anal about such things have been slowly placed into these positions to prevent "boredom" and "discouragement" from taking place in a work environment.

>+Actions can no longer fail due to Cyclopes simply losing interest or becoming disheartened. Maaaaaaybe not. Bringing back a species that is already dead sounds a lot like Pet Sematary territory.
And using Eldritch Studies to do so sounds like a way for everything to go horribly, horribly wrong.
And let's not even consider if, in addition to the above, we bring back the parrats of all species.

The Parrats didn't go extinct, did they? I thought their demi-god just took them away from our islands.

We should probably do something about the pedophilia problem we have soon, people in positions of authority need to be culturally pushed to act like it is a responsibility that can be taken away, not a privilege.

My suggestion for dealing with it would be normal punishment for the first crime, but a 'black mark' for continued. Tattoo the persons face or palm of their hand with a criminal mark so others know to be wary of them.
>>

>>
>>37915251
I think "Names" are a thing. I mean they'd have to be so you'd know to trust Wimoweh the Singer rather than Bowuha the Poopsmith to entertain a group of gorgon emissaries. Its just Individualism is not important, that doesn't mean cyclopses don't have names and aren't individuals themselves. If something can be done, it can be done in a group. If someone is in charge, a bunch of people are in charge.
>>
>>37915183
And? It's better that way.
>>
>>37915287
Yeah, it is a problem that needs to be addressed. Incest too, but the pedophilia is a priority.
Also, if we are going to use the tattoo, make it the face. Not everybody notices hands, but faces are always looked at.
>>
>>37915287
Agreed. A tattoo around the eye of anyone who commits pedophillia. Also those in office must never lie, or they should be removed from office and given a tattoo as well. Not as obvious, but still.

To be perfectly honest if I was visit a foreign nation and I heard that there was a man whose name was poopsmith I would be very curious as to how he earned it. I would not shake his hand however
>>
>>37915361
I think the problems that stem from incest could be at least partly remedied with just better education in biology. I don't think we necessarily need to criminalize it.
>>

Pedophillia needs to be though. Second offense is banishment though I think.

We need to make sure it is a very specific pattern of facial tattoo, not something easily gotten rid of or forged. Not to mention to make sure other face tattoos are not ostracized, as that could be culturally damaging. I suggest we invest in using a specific colour of tattoo, like red alongside the pattern to make it more clearly defined.

Shame is earnt. Forgiveness will take a lifetime.

>Complete Success -Racial penalty, -Hostile Environment

Cyclopean traffic has dramatically increased with the mining town and Mycea herself acting as something of a sister city-state that you currently control. This has made Colonizing and founding new communities on the plain a lot easier, but even then most Cyclopes are not keen on building settlements in the open, bald-ass, plains. The Mountain pass has even begun to cultivate rich and hearty Fungal growth due to the efforts of local Cyclopes dwelling within mining communities.

Settlement has been established sporadically on the Jungles that begin just around the coasts; underneath the mountains and despite the presence of Hippos, Manticores, and Therasaurs.. it isn't a bad place to live: The plains offer ideal hunting grounds and the Jungles provide perfect temperatures and territory for fungal and orchard cultivation your people rely on for food.

New movement and Settlement patterns have been marked on our Map.

Cyclops are fond of sex sure. But rape is rape, when you use influence to get someone to 'agree' to sex, that's rape. I'm pretty sure the cyclops don't think tricking or using influence to get sex out of somebody as cool.

>Success +Hovering pot,

Some of your people have to travel- quite a lot in fact. Trade between the Gorgon Empires, Mycea's city, and the distant mining villages have all lead to the development of proper roads and pathways that are respected and kept well maintained (something even Mycea herself invests time into showing proper care towards). Cyclopes still however have to Traverse these on foot as no Creature is large enough to hold their weight and even Elephants and Triceratops are only fit for pulling wagons or carts... and realistically Rickshaws do not actually solve the problem.. even though the general census is they are incredibly fun.

>+Hovering Wagon invented+
The Hovering wagon is an alteration on the model of the floating pot; instead of a focus on hovering about and looking amazing and bringing for jealous looks from inferior cultures below.. The Hovering wagon provides a lot more in the way of humble practicality and function. A large clay-work engraved "wagon", with iron and gold pipes feeding into a bell just below the structure that contains a magnetic and polarized clapper. As The pipes are fed hymns- they feed into the bell below which allows it to however very slightly off the ground. The pipes like wise also control steering as one can control which pipe is sung into to maneuver the bell's polarity below.
It is clumsy and no faster than walking- peeking out at a top speed of a "jog" unless you get out and push it- but it's something.

Every generation and rebirth of the Gorgon empress has progressively birthed a new empress who's likeness, mindset, and resemblance to the Hydra mother constantly grows. People don't typically have incestual sex for the purpose of reproduction; Cyclopes learned where babies came from a while back and are pretty familiar with inbreeding and animal husbandry. The main cause of incest at the moment is either "heavy petting" between siblings or sodomy. There's no cultural stigma to tell them it's wrong or incorrect, but people do generally understand you shouldn't impregnate your sister.

>Mycea: Mother & Father of Fungi, Demi-god of harvest, ex-slave of elves and physical expression of the moon Enacts her Plan.

It begins abruptly on a clear and sunny day with little to no forewarning or mention on her part: the structure that makes up her mass from which grows out and acts as the heart of her territory and nourishes her begins to "pulse" with the visible flexing of artery-like tendrils that pump and guide fluids through out greater form. She does not stop anyone from entering her personal chambers and almost seems to welcome the company, but through her heavy constant breathing she admits, "This will look very.. unbecoming of a proper lady such as myself. I hope that you are not repulse by what I'm about to do." She extends her hands, "or taken back if I were to request someone hold my hands". There is no shortage of volunteers; she tightly clenches her hands, heaves, groans, and her entire form shakes violently from side to side.

Outside though the true spectacle is taking place: a breath taking display of colour begins to flush and flow into the membranes and "mounds" making up the various domed structures of Mycea's form and they soon become alight with rich and vibrant pinks, blues, teals, orange, purples, and reds- a myriad of stripes and dazzling variety of colour that leaves on lookers amazed. Her domed plant-like structures begin to swell and pulse like that of a heart beat accompanied by vein-like Mycelium across her Grove become quite prominent.

Mycea's humanoid form becomes pained and she begins to groan out loudly to her own embarrassment before finally her "Domes" start splitting before they burst open to reveal humongous, supple, splayed out, flowering bodies that exhume a blanketing coverage of brightly coloured spores. One after another they start popping open until the entirety of Mycea's Grove is blanketed under a gently snowing cloud of puffy spores.

At this point Mycea's humanoid form has become visibly exhausted and a few Cyclopes are at her side and holding her to prevent her from hanging limply in place. Her breathing is still very heavy, her face is flushed with colour, and her "hair" seems to be wilting slightly.
"Almost, Almost- this was the hard way out. I'll admit, I'll admit it- there was an easier way, but it would have been selfish and it would have hurt you." She slowly rises of her own volition and catches her breath before she begins her heavy patterned breathing once more. "Okay, hold me tight please- it's the big push this time."
With her Humanoid form held and embraced by a number of attendants she embraces them back and her entire being begins to convulse and shiver once more; her flowering bodies sway, the spores continue to flutter down.. the top structure begins the swell. The largest, tallest, and most prominent "dome" on Mycea begins to flex and convulse almost unnaturally and it begins to swell much larger than the others- small seams begin to burst from the dome and pour out a visibly bright orange glowing liquid your people recognize as Mana.

The Dome then starts flexing upon itself, pressure seems to build up onto it, and a visible "lip" on the top begins to form; before it finally bursts open and violently expels an enormous pod of green, flesh-like, fungal growth. The Pod is ejected so quickly it leaves behind an ear-ringing crack and causes Mycea's entire form to wave back and forth. The Pod flies across the sky leaving behind a vapor trail as it goes- it's fungal tendrils that had once connected it to Mycea dangling behind it.
>>
>>37917215
Oh damn
>>
>>37917215
I think we just saw anti-great-old-one artillery Fire...
>>
>>37917215

The pod continues to soar through the air- it flies and is ejected far, far, off into the distance. Later, Cycloptic folk living on the homeland report seeing it soar across the sky before dissapearing across the horizon and out to sea. A few handfuls of Cyclopes who were out at Sea at the time as well as some Southerners re-tell that the pod landed somewhere out at the deepest portion of the "deep" ocean; the pod seemingly spearing the ocean depths with great speed and efficiency that persisted throughout.

Mycea meanwhile is a bit of a mess- she's gone limp, her personal chambers are incredibly humid, and she herself seems to have begun flowering: her breasts becoming noticeably fuller and heavier and a rich display of red and orange patterned fronds grown upon her; trailing down and become longer, more colourful, and more engorged towards her groin. She's completely exhausted, unable to support her own weight- even her hair is limp.

She still tries though to retain some of her dignity and brings up her shivering hands to cover herself up, "N-no, no.. please don't look at me. This is no way for a lady to present herself. My shame, please." The Cyclopes scramble over one another to provide Mycea a blanket.

Mycea while in the arms over your attendants, enshrouded in her blanket, still continues to "flower" and the strength from her entire form seems to be slowly sapped as the spores continue to rain down upon the entirety of her Grove. Her breathing calms down, her heart rate softens, but she slowly starts taking more drawn out breaths and lethargy over-takes her as the spores continue to rain outside.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry my sweet, dear, innocent, children- I lied; this may have been the hard way out for both of us." Her voice becomes hoarse as the flowering fronds slowly over take her form and she begins to slowly physically atrophy and wither.

"I'm sorry, I love you." Her voice gets softer. "I'm sorry, I love you" Her hair begins falling out. "I'm sorry, I love you". She starts to curl up. "I'm sor-."

>Hold on, hold on. What if she just did something really bad? What if she and the hydra mother conned us?

When we found Mycea she had been left for dead; a dried out husk of a god that had been physically and mentally abused for possibly centuries at the behest of a more advanced civilization that simply did not respect her beyond her functional use as a tool.
Mycea was saved by you, Mycea was nursed back to health by you, Mycea who had spent a life of abuse, neglect, and manipulation was treated to an insurmountable amount of respect she had never once experienced before in her long, long, life- and you did it without a moments notice and asked for nothing in return.

Mycea lived as she died; for other people, but she at the very least died for the people who actually cared about her. If there were ever a being or faction that truly and completely loved your people- it was Mycea.

Not trying to resurrect her, but to help guide and assist a natural part of her powers and portfolio. She is a Demi-goddess of rebirth. We have a crit success. The gods themselves have declared this to be the course we should take.

I'm wondering if those spores will lead to a race of dryads or a fungal race based off of her.

Maybe she can't reincarnate like the Hydra Mother and instead releases spores that will grow into her descendants.

Heck... If we hadn't asked her about what necromancy actually was... If we had thought it was normal dnd necromancy... This was a perfect storm. We will not allow her to end like this.

Yessss... Honestly not that surprising....

yes, seeing as plants feed on sunlight It made sense.
>>
>>37918682
I'm just curious what's going to grow from that spore pod she shot at the progenitor after it's done consuming him.
>>
>>37917789

The spores continue to rain down as Mycea's humanoid body rests lifelessly within the blanket her attendants had wrapped her in. The gentle falling blanket of snowing spores seem to muffle out the collective soft weeping of Mycea's beloved followers, friends, and acquaintances. The beauty she's left behind in the form of so many flowering plants and fungal growth pale in comparison to the ugly and lonely sadness she has left behind in so many hearts.

People from all over Mycea's Grove bring about offerings: Alcohol, flowers, baked goods, sweets, and reminisce about personal experiences they had with her and the constantly humility she displayed as becoming of a "proper lady" as she was so fond of saying.

Eventually the latest reincarnation of the Hydra Mother comes to pay her respects; now at the count of 4 maiden heads- each as buxom as the other. She is almost unbearably curt as her maidens speak one after another, "So, 'it' kicked the bucket, eh? You know babies- I wouldn't have done that if I were in that thing's position." A number of people immediately draw offense and she backs off slightly, "Calm down, sweeties. I don't see what you're getting all upset about >I< was dead and patient enough to be brought back- look at this, look at ME." All four of her maidens spread their arms. "It'll be back. Maybe not today. Maybe not tomorrow- maybe not even in the span of your lives, but it'll be back."

The Hydra mother does however give some passing advice, "I know what you're thinking and I advise against it; you can't rush reincarnation darlings. If you really miss that 'thing' so bad though, there is that pod it gave you. Oh my, but that was for Akalade's world wasn't it?" The Hydra mother slowly slithers off- gleefuly cackling to herself, satisfied with the moral ambiguity she has planted within your people.

10/10 I'm mad.

We can wait, but the Hydra Mother's taunt and insults should have consequences. I'm sure the Manticore tribe won't appreciate their favorite demi-god being referred to as "it".
>>
>>37918776
...A bitch though she may be, she does have a point. Let's not rush reincarnation. Instead, just focus on getting Akalade's pod back to his world and giving Mycea her funeral rites. We should give her time, she'll eventually be back.
>>
>>37918776
>If you really miss that 'thing' so bad though, there is that pod it gave you. Oh my, but that was for Akalade's world wasn't it?
Fuuuuuuuuuuuuck.

Knew it. Why is Hydramother such a big fan of Faustian bargains. The seed of doubt is planted.
>>
>>37918776
I'm almost tempted to say we should see if she can pull that off twice...
>>
>>37918776

Aaaaaaah fuck we'll wait.

And we will through the biggest mother fucking party when she gets back.

For now make her grove the most beautiful fucking place in the world ready for when she gets back.

>>

>let Hydra Mother stew in a gilded cage for a few millenia

Again, there should be consequences.
>>
Well I think we can safely say Mycea is fully inducted into our pantheon now.
>>
>>37918776
No. We won't tarnish her memory with such selfishness.

We will however remember her. Her city will become the home of a place of learning and study. The necromancers will maintain it for her eventual return.

The alchemists will study this place and the children she left behind. Even in death she will heal us and protect us.

The Druids will study the threat she gave her life to undo. We will guard against similar threats and the magic of others with their knowledge and elderitch mastery.

Finally, the Theologians will study the stars here. Ever vigilant for signs of Mycea'si's rebirth or the return of the forces kin to that which she slew.

And that fucker Akalade will be made to understand -exactly- what we gave up to keep or word.

And finally? The demonologists will fucking own up to what they are doing and we will decide from there. Or so help me, I'll tear out their eyes myself.
>>

Alright for reals this time you guys; that's a wrap for this session.

The Resurrection of Mycea will into itself be a long and gradual process full of adventure, difficult choices, and painful memory's as you slowly bring her back.

But for now we've got to call it a night and save our energy for next weeks session: Mycea's plan will gradually and slowly take action and I can guarantee you'll start to see the results of it next session and we've still got an entire civilization and the whole world left to explore.

Hope, Anons. Hope for what the future brings.
>>
>>37919022
But she owes us for saving her people and doing away with the progenitor.
>>
>>37919047
This.

Hydra Mother needs a lesson in humility. Obviously military actions is out of the question, but we can still put the Gorgon Empire in a tight spot by supporting the tribes over the empire.
>>
>>37919050
so next time Hydramother will give us our reward? Will we find out what happened with the Old God?
Is there gonna be bad blood with the Merfolks?
>>
>>37919050
Gotcha. Thanks for the roller coaster ride of emotions, OP. A pleasure, as always.
>>
>>37919050
Goodnight! This is the one quest I look forward to all week!
>>
>>37919050
We'll deal.

But we're going to get our four approved cults organized, and then we're going to nail the demonologists hides to the wall if they refuse to explain themselves and listen to reason. We will not disrespect her memory by consorting with beings who caused her such harm.
>>
>>37919071
Maybe we can give lenses to the Manticores. Or hell even the dinosaurs and the Spiders.
>>
>>37919071
Mycea wouldn't want us to turn on them just because of their callous god. We should just carry on being the same gentle creatures that rescued her.
>>
>>37919102
We should probably unite the tribes into a confederation, too. A united front against the Empire is what is needed.

In the end our goal should be a reunified Gorgon state, but Hydra Mother needs to learn to not be such a huge bitch.
>>
>>37919138
Agreed. But we can make it clear that we're unhappy without actually hurting them.
>>
>>37919142
uniting the tribes wouldn't be too bad. They left mostly because they didn't dig the empress right? The empress is the Hydra Mother. yeah makes sense.

I'd rather the cyclopses make no attempts themselves (unless absolutely needed).
>>
>>37919142
Well that's one thing, I just don't think we should be all BLOOD FEUD about it though. Mycea wouldn't want that, considering how she and the hydra mother worked together. They're probably friends.

Who knows? maybe being coy is how she deals with grief.

Conceal don't feel and all that
>>
>>37919050
You taking questions OP? is the thread archived?
Are we waiting until next week?
>>
>>37919169
This.

Use diplomatic means to make Hydra less of a cunt. Really, if we just leave the Hydra Mother alone to keep being a bitch, she'll never learn her lesson and will keep ruling the Gorgons as she always has, which never worked to begin with.
>>
>>37919142
So we turn Mycea's city into a center of magical study, we nip the demonologists in the bud, we unite the tribes below us into a confederation, and we get mother hydra to at least apologize for being a bitch at Mycea's own funeral.

All in favor of formalizing each branch of magic into it's own temple? say Aye.

well actually we don't really know how the hydra mother ruled before the elves showed up.

Are the gorgons happy with her taking control?

How do people refer to each other in cyclopean society without proper names?
>>
>>37919228
So when the Hydra Mother, was still "dead" rather than "Mid Reincarnation" she communicated through the stars and constellations.

Is that the standard modus opperandi for all "dead gods"?

If that question is too spoilery, maybe i can rephrase it to "So was the Hydra Mother in the sky thousands of years ago the same thats now physically walking about on the world now?"
>>

>>37919228
How have things been in the empire since the hydra mother took direct control as empress?
>>
>>37919314
If so.. Necromancers occasionally study the stars... They might be able to find her!
>>
>>37919303
Likely not good. and probably gonna get worse considering we just killed their god. Or well, Mycea/Hydra-Mother killed their god and we are accessories to it.
I sincerely hope this is the case. We need some drama. Parrats were too innocent and also our fault, and the Elves left us before a proper confrontation (either philosophically or militarily).
>>
>>37919398
we never found out what exactly happened to the elves did we?

Just that they wanted to go back to the moon and then the deep one did SOMETHING
>>
>>37919279
we should make the city of Mycea's the seat of governance. A senate for the confederation. Invite every race except met people to it... Unless the merpeople are all 'fuck yeah! The slaver God is dead!' Or something.
>>
>>37919424
... were there merfolk before the elves dissappeared? Or did they only show up after?

Is being merfolky like being assimilated by the Deep Eye?
>>
>>37919424

I'm a little confused about mycea herself exactly- why were the elves using her as a ship? how?

Do the elves on the moon no longer use them? Why didn't the elves on the moon go and get the ones here? Did they know they were even here?

So many questions....
>>
>>37919398
I don't feel the need for any confrontations. If they happen okay, but it's nothing I want. You can go to any other civ to play a warfarring race.
>>
>>37919462
there were merfolk before the elves disappeared
>>
>>37919260
>How do people refer to each other in cyclopean society without proper names?
They refer to people on the basis of familiarity, I.E: everyone you don't know is obviously anonymous and so forth, but as you grow to know someone you develop a personal identity or basis of reference between you and that person.

>>37919271
>Is that the standard modus opperandi for all "dead gods"?
It's standard communication for all dead beings. The stars are a medium for ancients and ancestors, anon.
A black abyss, defined and alight by the endless innumerable mass of individual souls that make up it.

>>37919279
They've been mostly chilling out and expanding their territories and making their own way in the world independent of one another. The Manticore tribe has almost entirely begun to dwell in Mycea's grove and they're probably just as crushed as we are with her death- they were pretty tight.

>>37919315
Pretty good to be honest: Slavery hasn't come back, their cities are cleaner, people are happier, there's less inbreeding on average, and she's investing a slow and gradual revival of their true culture and an overall increase in her entire species being born SMOKIN' HOT. The Hydra Mother is honestly.. just kind of a bitch; also Mycea is technically a Hermaphrodite since she's a fungus.

>>37919303
Don't worry, we'll get into that next session.
>>
>>37919471
I don't like "war" either. But frankly I crave the confrontation just for the opportunities it presents.
I remember when we found out elves "Existed" and we were freaking out about all the possibilities, like how they were advanced ahead of us and stuff. The merfolk getting "anti-cyclopean" might spur us into making some interesting decisions. Be it a war, or a nation to compete against in terms of Commerce, culture, and technology.

The Druidic Fortress Vault where they shall guard us against the unknowable, and the Alchemist's gardens, cultivating Mycea's blossoms for medicine and SCIENCE! finally, the Senate building, where representatives of each race can meet and discuss things.

Most importantly? No violence within the city.

And we need to nail the Demonologists to the wall and find out what they think they'll get from the beings who so obviously traumatized Mycea worse than the fucking elves.

We also nail the demonologists... One wa
>>

>>
>>37919705
I still can't believe I got a nat fucking 20 to help resurrect Mycea... In my first thread even!

Also. Guys. Just had a thought. We have hard choices in the future... But I'm willing to bet the only way to bring back Mycea properly, with no catches, no bad things, is to do this like the quest for the holy grail. Even when we are sure that what we are doing will only push our goal back further, as long as it is the morally right decision... It will lead us to our goal.

It was HIM that saved us from the Zyz, we should ask him permission before doing this kind of shit again and probably do penance.

Fine. We contact the sun, find out his will on the demonology. But we stop it for the time being. We find out why it is being studied, and we decide after consulting our patron.
>>
>>37921133
I sorta feel that if the sunwas really pissed at us... He'd have made that clear earlier ehn?
>>
are we archived? And when will the paste in be updated?

>>37920879
Agreed. We have forgotten the sun for too long.
>>
>>37921379
Anyone else think he's gonna be pissed off?
>>
>>37921179
You know how passive-aggressive parenting is. Perhaps he expects us to know what would Piss him off and avoid it on our own, else he boils in his hunger untill he leashs out.
>>37921133
Let's ask him about Mycaea's plans and what exactly it entails and if it pleases or displeases him.
Also yeah the cultists should be detained for the time being. However if they were to be kept all together in the same hail that coincidentially has all they need to continue their research under heavy vigilance... That would still be detaining them in a sense wouldn't it?

>>do we even have jails, come to think about it?

>He IS our main patron after all
Him and the stars.
So we got ancestors and a big boisterous warlike god.

>You know how passive-aggressive parenting is. Perhaps he expects us to know what would Piss him off and avoid it on our own, else he boils in his hunger untill he leashs out.
True, but its sort of implied Sun was in on the "Kill the Deep Progenitor" plan. Considering Mycea was consulting various other gods.

Worst comes to worst, he might not be cool with the other gods we worship (Stars, Moon, Hydra Mother, Cosmic Snake, Mycea) but he might've been game for the plan (maybe doubly so since it would've involved Mycea's death.)

we currently have the following kinds of magic:
-theology, our natural form of hymnal and astrological magic.
-Arcanistry: the art of creating magical devices. Currently and primarily derived from theology, but theoretically applicable to any other discipline.
-necromancy: the magic of the cycle of birth, life, death, and rebirth. Communig with spirits of the dead, sickness control, rot and decay control.
-Druidism: the most ancient form of magic, based from the original sources of life and creation, the elderitch horrors from before the dawn of life as we understand it.
-alchemy: a process of manipulating the elements and material world through potions, unguents, oils, gasses, and similar. Is capable of refining valuable materials such as silver. Likely a different variation of Arcanistry.
- demonology: specifics unknown, related to the red planet, the mention of which was enough to drive a goddes into a short term nervous breakdown from terror.

Good points, good points.
Let's just remember to ask next week and hope everything will be fine.

Payton God or no, we owe Mycea a debt. An enormous one. He isn't the only God we must appease even if he is our chief deity. The mother-hydra is our fertility goddess for example, even if we don't like her that much. Mycea is our goddess of rebirth and the harvest. We'll build her a temple in what will likely become the scholarly and agricultural center of our civilization.

i think it's likely that he'll be fairly accepting of expanding our pantheon as long as he remains respected.

also, is mycea our moon goddess?

>>Payton God or no, we owe Mycea a debt. An enormous one.

Here i must stop you.
Mycaea's plan was her own: we didn't know anything about the deep one's plans or ideas, she opposed them and attacked him with heavy impact sexual violence by shooting her pod. Fine.
We still only know what her and mother hydra said about him and his plans.
So we don't owe anything to her per se, we just liked her a lot. Of anything she owed us a big deal because our explorers and "terraformers" if you will saved her life.
You know to whom we owe our life? To the FUCKING Golden guy that calmed the zyzz, fed it some whale while IT was perched on his arm and convinced IT not to genocide us for taking his feathers.
That would be the SUN.
>>

We owe them both. Massively. We build him an even bigger temple complex when we expand the mines. Give him an entire island.

Her temple will go in her old city, which is perfectly placed to be the center of our coalition of species and tribes. It is the best location for our true capital. Not to mention the massive, blooming fungal forest is a fucking bread basket for us.

Which reminds me, we MUST put down roots and fully claim her old territory before the gorgon empire and mother hydra does. We can share access to it, but it must primarily be OUR city
>>
>>37921658
Also, the sun is obviously owed more, make no mistake, that's why he's the center of our pantheon, but we already got other duties we follow after all. He can't hold it that much against us as long as he remains at the center of our religion, which is unlikely to change.
>>
>>37921658
This is a compromise i can get behind.
>>
>>37921575
Just pointing this out, but I think we kind do owe her a debt since she saved the world from eventually being eaten by wannabe-Cthulhu, and gave her life to do so, when apparently she could have just screwed us over instead and survived.

She was our friend. More than just our God. We saved her life, she saved ours. You don't keep track of debt once you make that exchange. You're true friends at that point.

More or less what i meant with
>>So we don't owe anything to her per se, we just liked her a lot.
>>

Well she is a physical manifestation of the moon? And we like her tons and bunches.

So she pretty much completes our astral pantheon. Especially if we consider the Mother Hydra to represent the earth itself being a fertility deity.

Also, interesting anatomical question. Does the mother hydra have multiple sex organs? One for each torso? Or just one giant cloaca?

Yes, one for each Torso.

More like a demigoddes related to the Moon's ecology goddess for what i understood. Or a Terminal of an huge biocomputer as Elves would say.

Anyway yeah she's our civilization's waifu.
