I think we should take the sunday (yes, i am aware that its probably not called sunday here, but it would be a pain to come up with special snowflake names for days and months. Also, each time I see someone does that in a setting, i cant help but feel that for some reason, theyre just trying too hard. It alienates the audience, imho. Its better to just handwave it away and say its the same names) morning to take the bees to get new fabulous winter clothes.

Our dwarven friend already went once to measure them, remember? and they have money and nothing to do with it, so once they know the way to and from master Tazar's store, they can make it on their own.

So for now lets take them to the shop and then go pla--- i mean, train with our sisters. On monday morning we can ask around in the chess club, and in the evening after that, we can start raising the bees levels. Tho once they know the way to the dungeon, again, they can start coming and going on their own.

Eldric is holding Lyann's hand to his right, and Zoe to his left. He is also carrying Miel II on his jacket chest pocket

They are all wearing warm looking wool clothes, jackets, pants, and high quality, fluffy and thick leather boots, plus a scarf or two.

Honestly, it is a scene that makes you want to say "overprotecting much?" just by looking at them, but they don't seem to mind.

Stella loves the scarf her moms made for her, Zoe is a good, obedient girl, and Athena likes playing with hers, so its alright.

Lyann is wearing a light silk dress under a cotton layer under a long turtle neck sweater under her short jacket, so that she looks like a cone, except for her legs, just her pretty face visible on top, then a cone, then her legs.

Is she actually weak against cold?

"Alright. You promise to listen to your brother?"
"Yes mom!" -say the girls, while Lyann just nods with a very soft blush. She doesn't likes being reminded that she's technically his (adopted) sister.

Linda smooches everyone on the forehead or cheek, then they are off.

As much as they want to walk side by side, the fact is that four people is too many. They use up the whole walkway that way, so somehow it ends with Eldric/Zoe and Lyann/Stella/Athena behind them.

As to how come Lyann isn't next to Eldric, well, she's being considerate since she seems to spent the most time with him.

Eldric gets her a sewing kit. Its not a large and complicated one, but one for young girls that she can have fun playing with.

When Stella gets jealous, a candy-covered apple is enough to shut her up. Just how gluttonous is our puppy sister?

Zoe is happily carrying her sewing kit, rather than storing it in her item box.

After a little bit, we reach the area where Kalkah uses to be selling fruits every day, but she's nowhere in sight right now. Right, she usually goes into the dungeon in the mornings, right? she did mention something like that at some point in the past. The reason we see her so often its because we usually come by in the evenings.

Making our way to master Tazar's shop, we find it open and brightly lit, for a change.

Our dwarf craftsmen is actually working on something near the entrance. I guess he needs the light for it.

"Master Tazar, hello"
"Ah, young lord, welcome! you are surrounded by flowers today!"

We explain to him that we wanted to see what he had made for the faeries, and he nods and goes back behind the counter, soon coming back with a briefcase.

Opening it up, the contents look like a display of doll clothes. Well, that probably could not be helped, given the size of each dress.

Miel II flies off from Eldric's pocket and looks at the dresses, swaying happily from side to side, and going "oooh!" and "aaaah!"

Now that master Tazar has made these by hand, he would have little problem using his craftsmen skills to make extra copies in a few moments, as long as he has the materials.

After thanking him, she flies off to the hives, dressed up in a warm looking, diminutive coat.

Well, since we are here, we take the chance to buy some extra clothes for everyone at home, and get some colorful, bright, warm hats for Athena.

Of course, that's enough to make her quite happy, albeit she insists in hugging her hats all the way back.

"I wanna walk, I wanna walk!" -Athena cries out so Stella lets her down.

She tries to wear all her hats at the same time. Well, she manages two, since one is just a wool hat, but that's it. In the end, Lyann ends up carrying the others in her item box. Still, Athena looks quite happy.

Of course, it's quite the long walk back home, so by the time we are back, she's back in someone's arms (Lyann's).

Stella looks like she's having fun leaving boot and hand prints on any pile of snow she can fine. A part of me wants to say it is odd that she has no issue wearing shoes, but it IS winter and there is anow in the street, so... besides, she has to at some point shake her fears off, right?

There's no injuries a few heal spells won't fix, and with us not knowing where, how, or when (aside from "a few years") the demon invasion will happen, getting stronger is most important.

uhmm... in MT, the main character used sculpting as his hobby, and it worked because doing fine work with magic was actually more mana intense than regular spells... what would be good... how about snow fights with platoons of summons? getting hit by a snowball means they "die" so they have to be replaced often. Suggestions?

Well, if it a case of draining mana, there should be tools for it.

Everyone is just so loaded on mana, tapping out now is hard.

Unless you make it control based, or put mana into enchanting. Or make magic toys that use there mana to do stuff. Like magic RC Rockit boats.

We arrive back at home a little before lunch, so Ellie recruits everyone in helping set the table. Her pregnancy is quite advanced, tho elven pregnancy is almost 14 months long, so there should still be at least 3 more to go.

Of course, everyone does their best to make her as comfortable as possible.

Once dad arrives, everyone has lunch together. No matter how you look at it, it is a warm family scene.

Well, it would look weird in the old world, but after living here for over a decade now, we are more than used to the differences. So much so that what we would say "don't sweat the small stuff" if someone from the old world pointed out that about 1/2 of the people sitting at the table, sharing a warm family meal, are not humans.

Well, everyone is a loved family member.

Once we are done picking up and washing dishes, we go out to play in the nearby empty lot. The same we used a certain time as an impromptu landing site when we came by rockitship from Opal.

There, we explain the rules to everyone.
You must use your best summons only.
A snowball hit "kills" them, so you must dispel them
There will be a one hour preparation time to build one's castle and snowball supplies.

With this, we split into two teams.

With about an hour to make the forts and snowball stocks, we get to work as fast as possible, with Stella making the fort while we make the snowballs.

Across the empty lot, Lyann talks about it with Zoe and they, too, get to work. tho their fort its much smaller.

In the meanwhile, Athena is running back and forth between them, and she chuckles whenever she comes by, like she had a huge secret.

After a while, we are ready to start, and Athena cries out in cheer as she runs over... to Lyann's side.

It looks like she is convinced that Lyann is going to win, for some reason.

Well, the all girls team has a low but wide fortress built like a half moon, with a rampart, while we have a much more impressive looking, traditional square fort with tall walls.

Really, just looking at the forts, theirs looks like a bunch of sandbags in comparison.

As Athena cries out the start, the summons begin pouring out behind the forts, and marching forth with a snowball, throwing it, then coming back for another, assuming they dont get "killed".

"Yaaa! we are winning!" -says Stella as she crawls up to peek out of a small window, her fluffy tail wagging from left to right

After a while, tho, we start noticing a problem. The all girl's team has less summons, but they seem to be winning ground.

Their summons come out carrying a small handfull of snowballs, while ours just carry one or two each.

Either way, we have Eldric's seemingly endless mana pool to make summons with, so we can't lose!

Right?

A little bit later, Zoe is jumping softly and going "yay, yay!" with Athena as they celebrate their win.

"Hey, wasn't Athena meant to be impartial?"
"Ah, sorry, she came over to the winning team" -says Lyann with a little smile

We had a near limitless supply of summons, but not as many snowballs, while Lyann sent fewer summons out, and used some to keep making snowballs. Having a target-rich environment meant that her summons could just throw all their snowballs at ours and hit something regardless, while ours had to actually aim at hers.

In short, we ran out of ammo. and our massive numbers became a weakness. Zoe and Lyann managed to take out many more times the number of summons we did.

Stella looks like she's about to cry.

"b-But I had Eldric...!"

Poor Stella, she was sure she was going to win just because we were with her. I'm sorry, we'll get you some treat later, alright?

Ah, Athena is going pat pat on Stella's head. Our little sister is very understanding, actually.

Wait, being comforted by Athena.. looks like it had the opposite effect. Our wolf girl sister finally starts crying, kneeling on the snow, hands on her knees. She really looks like she may howl any time now.

Well, she calms down when we pick her up. She is a rather petite girl, after all, its not like she's heavy enough we would even take notice with how strong we are.

"There, there" -Eldric calms her down like when she was a small child, and she eventually stops crying

Wait... she's actually a child still, right? yeah, it's fine if she gets upset from time to time.

She clings and hugs Eldric like a koala, so we have no choice but to go back home like that.

"Oh my... what happened?" -asks Ellie when Stella is still sniffling when we get home
"We lost a snow fight"

Ellie sighs and caresses Stella's short, fluffy hair.

"Stella, honey, do you want some cookies?"

Eldric gently smooches both girls on the forehead, and gently caresses their backs, albeit they each take it in completely different ways.

Zoe purrs and nuzzles her face against Cedric's chest as she gets caresses and pampering, while just a couple of feet away Lyann blushes while she falls deeper in love.

"Just a little bit, alright? we have to get up for school soon"
"Alright" -says Zoe, happily

Zoe leaves first, giving Eldric a smooch as she happily steps down from the beds and gets wrapped up in her robe before heading over to her room.

Well, the club seems as busy as ever. On the other hand, there has been no new faces for a few weeks now.

Aritsu is sitting behind the president desk (its really her desk, honestly), writing down some logs when we come in.

Almost all the elves in the chess club are Yellowleaves refugees

Yellowleaves is ran (in times of war, when there is no king) by a council of elders. Since the current royal family is all females, that means that they will remain in power as long as the war continues. And even if a male was born, it would be about a century and a half before it could be crowned.

This means that the elder council is very interested in keeping the state of war going on, as it gives them "emergency" powers. Since the coalition is not bothering with attacking them, it is an "ideal war" where noone is dying, but they still get to remain in power.

The Coalition, and through our special relationships, Heven and the Heavenly Empire, have military technology and methodology far ahead of anyone else. We would have to give them these military secrets so that their armies actually have a chance of fighting demons. And doing so would only encourage them to go to war with each other, or band together to fight the Coalition, and we have no way to know when such a Cold War could go hot, which would be disastrous if it happened and left the defenses of all nations depleted when the demon invasion began.
Finally, their military buildups would cause strife among the civilian populace who would have to deal with the increased taxation that a military buildup would require, since their government policies would not take advantage of sending their armies dungeondiving as a source of income and materials.

Also, I had this idea while walking about... what if the world is PG 13? the nya nya rawr rawr sounds are literally omnipresent. Whenever someone is going to have sex, the world around them fades to black, nya nya rawr rawr sounds come out, and then time advances until morning? Eldric is like "wtf is going on?" when he notices for the first time that the lights are going off and all, and it becomes a search for a way to get around it.

Kinda funny, but actual fucking does have to go down in that time frame. Like, the doors will seal while two people get it on so nobody accidentally walks in or some form of censor pops up for the outside onlooker to prevent the voyeurism we currently enjoy when we're in the same room with two people fucking each other IRL (a sensor we and photography may be able to get past).

Babies being made without the actual baby making process going down just feels too weird to me, too "fake" I suppose. That was just some from minor bleed over xp.

Dungeoning provides big xp and gold, if you go deep and have the stats to destroy the floors. Otherwise you are slow going. Lot of dungeons are 20-35 floors, and xp returns for those go pathetic after you hit a class level of 35-45, in a full group.
