As the monster was coming, Max began to go into deep thought.

'There's a lot of thing weird going on.
First off, this world, obviously.
Then, me becoming a Lich.
I have this ability called Dark Fear.

The door opened, breaking Max's train of thoughts and revealing a tiny monster wearing a ragged cloak.
It was about the size around 3 feet tall.
The cloak covered all of his body, except his face, which looked human but was comprised mostly with wrinkles.

Max only stared at the creature.
'The guy looks like he's 300 years old.'

The Sreleah begins to think out.

'Overlord, may I be able to use my magic to repair your legs?'

Max thinks to himself,'Oh, so he can fix me up, huh?' Then to Sreleah.

'Yes, please do so.'

The monster shortly pauses after the words.
Making Max quickly think what is wrong with it.

'...V-very well, Overlord. It will take only a short while.'

The little Sreleah goes over to you and touch your hip, the outer edges where your leg was removed. As soon as it makes contact, you feel a slight tingling feeling.


'Is this... magic? Maybe, I should say something to the little guy?'

If the creature was sad that his entire race was wiped out, it didn't show it.

Huh, so this guy even know more about humans than the Insect Queen?

Lastly, about magic.

Cutting Max's thoughts, the Sreleah abrutly says.

Max looked down at new perfectly, bony legs, reattached to his body once more.

Max thinking it was a little odd, did not mind it, however.

So far this was Max's plan.

He realized that these monsters don't really have a sense of coordination with each other.

So Max is now hoping on the idea that his kingdom will drastically improve with the little idea of teamwork.

The Sreleah only nod, showing that it accepted the request. Only, it looked like the Sreleah thought it was an order.

'Strange, did the Sreleah look this old?'

What Max saw was not the same face of the Sreleah that just walked in a few moments ago.

The Sreleah even looked OLDER now.

More wrinkles were added, it's back more hunched.

'Should I ask?'

Max and the Sreleah made their way out of the private chambers.

Once out, Max let out a thought that should be able to reach every monster in the kingdom.

Max tried his best to not look astonished.

Another worry came over him.

'Liches and my body is very prone to injuries... What will happen if I get injured too much and this guy finally dies? Then what?"

Lixiver stands at the farthest left side of the throne. Down to the right were the other pillars.

In front of him was only about 1/3 of the monsters currently residing in Asleit.

So about 30,000.

The other monsters aren't able or not even sentient to attend this meeting called by the Overlord.

'Now, what does this Overlord wishes to do?'

Lixiver was stumped by who this Lich was.

There was no information about him. No other monsters ever heard of the Lich of "Max".

'However, his power is to be reckon with.'

Lixiver can only imagine what kind of power it must take to repel against old Overlord's mind magic.

But that wasn't the strangest part of the new Overlord.

It was the stunt he pulled at the kappa.

When Overlord Max ordered his minions to work together and then him joining in the fight.

'That's not natural... Monsters don't help each other and Liches will never ever go to the front lines to attack.'

Lixiver, arguably one of the smartest in Asleit, was stumped in the actions of the bizarre Lich.

Then the grand door opened.

They were all very cramped inside, but still left a little path in the middle for Max to walk to the throne.

Insect Queen called it a large amount of dark mana.
But after listening to Sreleah (it disappeared after Max went to his throne), Max knew what it really was.

It was a bluff skill.

Meaning, it only tricks other monsters to think that Max is some figure with vast amount of power.
However, to Max, with no actual power, this skill can be a blessing.

Preparing his speech in his head, Max finally was ready to speak.
'Alright, let's get this show in the run...'

"...Very well... Insect Queen!" Max turned to his right, where the Insect Queen was standing.

The Insect Queen paused for a while, looking very nervous.
Max even noticed one of her antennas shaking.

"...The Jreet are weak beings?"

The Jreet of Red, which stood in Max's left, began to take a deep breath.
But, not even the proudest Jreet dared to speak.

"No. Not at all," Max looked back to the crowd,"What you all are missing is teamwork."

The horde looked confused at the statement, but still kept silent.

"You're all too proud! Thinking that you, alone, can take down the humans.
However, my kappa proved your worth.
You all have your own weaknesses.
Weakness that can be easily exploited.
However, you can cover each other with your strengths.
And I'm going to make sure that I'll use every single one of them."

The Overlord took a deep breath.

'Wait, am I provoking them to be a better human-killing-machine?'

When did Max lose his humanity, he doesn't know.
It hasn't even a full day, yet it feels like he already fully immersed as an Overlord.

He closed his eyes, then looked up the ceiling.

'What do I really want to do?'

There were 6 medium sized chairs and 1 decorated chair made out of bones and jewels.

The pillars sat down, while Max sat down on the greater chair.

After Max has left the hall, Sreleah and some of the monsters still did not dared to move. Not even when some of the monsters were in frenzy and killing each other off.

But even with the Overlord gone, Sceleah was too afraid to even move.

The strong emotion of fear poured all over his body.
But, a new emotion also blossomed inside of him.

Something he has never felt before.

Later, all monsters come to realize what respect feels like.

Max took a deep breath, which didn't really do anything since he doesn't really breathe.

How things are to be run is the current leaders will need to lean team work or find a thing to help them in said goal. If they can not they will need to be train or replaced.

Later on in the set up well will need to work on a servant faction for communion lines.

Max let out his suggestions.

The information was a very different what these monsters have ever heard before.

The Jreet looked shocked by these changes, but he didn't refute any of them.

The Zimbil seem to only sharpen his glare at Max.
The Poly remained silent, looking unfazed by the ideas.
But there was some progress made by the monsters.

The Insect Queen asked some good questions.
Lixiver even gave out some suggestions.

The only person that seem to have a problem with it was the Myu.

In the middle of the meeting, Myu of Yellow spoke with a very annoyed voice,"Then, does this mean I have to do work?"

Before Max can even reply, Lixiver talked first.

With a sharp voice, "If you don't think you're unworthy to follow the Overlord's command, then I shall execute you here and now." Lixiver threatened with a glare.

Myu sent her own malicious glare right back at him.
They continued their staring contest, until finally Myu relented.
She remained silent for the rest of the meeting.

What the final product was this.

The Pillars and Max will discuss of ideas and affairs in the Kingdom, but the Overlord has the final say in the matter.

Below the Pillars, will be Department Leaders, who will also act as replacements for Pillars, if the situation acquires it. They can be Generals, Science Heads, etc.
They are also elected by us, and can be challenged but duels are related to their field so you can't challenge the science branch leader in a test of strength.

Divisions will consist of factions of certain type of jobs and such.

Then Area leaders/governers.

And finally, all current leaders will need to learn team work.

'Hmm, the Magic Room looks fun.'

Max proceeded on to the second floor.

Finally finding the door which should lead to the Magic Room, he tried to push open the door.

'Hmm?'

However, no matter how strong he pushed, the door wouldn't budge.

"Why wouldn't this door open? Is it brok-"

As soon as, Max said "open", the door immediately swung for Max to enter.

If he had eyelids, Max would blink. "Well, that's convenient."

Carefully, the Lich walked inside, only to find rows of shelves of items.
Scrolls, potions, rings, some skulls.

'Huh, so these are obviously magic artifacts or something.'

Then Max laid his eyes to middle of the room, where he saw a small table. And, on top of the table, was a crystal shard.

A purplish-mineral, barely the size of a finger.

Without even realizing it, Max already walked towards the shard.

It was calling to him. The shard wants Max to touch it. Max needs to touch it.

Gently, he sticks his hand to reach for the shard.

Right, in front of Max was the same throne room he was first teleported in.

In the throne seat was a Lich. The very same Lich that Max uppercut-ted and killed.

'What? He's still alive?'

A few meters in front of the Lich was a young man wielding a sword that was too flashy for it's rights.

The young man shouted, "Overlord, your time ends here!"

The Lich responded with a laugh and a cold voice.
>"YOU DARE OPPOSE ME, HERO? YOU MAY HAVE KILLED MY PILLARS, BUT I SHALL END YOU HERE, MULAT!"

'What is going on...?'
'Why can't I move?'

The scene changed. All Max could pick up was that the lich and the hero fought.

Now the new vision was the hero's sword plunging right through the lich's chest.

>"U-U-UGH! HOW CAN THIS BE? YOU ARE JUST MERELY A HUMAN?"

The hero, who appeared to have lost an arm in the fight, only smiled and said.
"Easy...because my friends are supporting right behind me."

The hero then took out his sword and beheaded the Overlord.

The scene changed once again.
Max was back to the Magic Room.
'W-w-what was that?"

Then a new thought, similar to the one where he was informed about Dark Fear, came to him.

'Huh?'

Get Insect Queen and the Fallen angel or whoever is good at magic/artifacts. Tell queen to send spies on the human side and start preparing assassins for the eventual recruited hero

Max, once again, touched the Prophecy Shard, but this time, there was no effects.

'What in the world...'

After trying to find any other shards in the room, Max gave up his search.

"There's nothing here. Not even any books or anything to help me understand what this is."

Once again, the monster kingdom's illiteracy was starting to annoy Max.

'I don't even want to touch the other items, yet. Who knows what they could do.'

So with countless of thoughts, Max was stumped.

Then loud footsteps were heard behind. Squishy footsteps.

Max turned around to see a Pillar. Poly of White. The Changeling.

Upon seeing the white glob, Max asked, "Did you need something of me, Poly?"

If the Poly knew he was spoken too, it didn't show.
It didn't let out a single response.

'Hmm, I'm not even sure if it can even speak. But I'm sure it can understand me. Can't it just change an-'

Like it answered the Overlord's thoughts, the Poly started to morph.

Growing recongizable features, the Poly grew into a creature, which Max knew very well.

It turned into a human. A male human with white hair and white pupils.

"Greetings, Overlord Max. I see that you have found the Propehcy Shard."

This is the first thing to recognize that we're weak.

So what we're actually talking with is Poly #2, which killed Poly #1 and #3 when it appeared that they had divergent thoughts and questioned #2.
#4 was created after the use of an Acid-Bomb in a meeting where none of the other Pillars noticed even though 2 Poly's were just killed, and #4 is still in the meeting.

Poly bears watching, because it can be far, far more intelligent than us.

Max was still a bit confused on why it changed human, but the shard comes first.

"Yes, Overlord. The Prophecy Shard is true to it's name. It shows the future and it predictions were true 100% of the time. Legends say that there only exist 5 shards in the world.
It greatly helped the past Overlord for the last millions of years, by showing what will happen for better planning."

The white-hair male-looking-human kept on having the same poker face as he kept on talking.

"However, the latest propehcy, which you probably saw, was the Human Hero who was supposed to take down the last Overlord.
However, the old Lich thought the prophecy shard was merely broken, for he did not fear that a human will ever take him down.
None of the monsters could even understand a human could possibly kill any of the Pillars or the Overlord."

Max felt something strange in the Poly's wording. Almost like, it actually believed a human is capable of the feat.

"Of course, now that Overlord of Max has killed the old lich already, the prophecy must be a lie."

Now, Max realized that something was strange.

'If the shard was always correct before, then why was it wrong now?'
"Poly, it's not like the old Lich can revive or something, right?"

"Impossible, Overlord."

'Then was the shard really just wrong? I mean, that was clearly the old Lich right there in the vision.'

'I'll think about that later.'

"Right so tell me about yourself. can you last that human form long?"

"Yes."

For a second, Max saw the poly's human head, where the brain should be, go through a sudden growth. Then it went back to it's orginal form.

The head, once again, became enlarged.

"We can use illusion magic and with my ability, there is a 92.39% you won't get caught."

'Huh, those are good odds.'

For the first time here, suprisingly, Max got the shivers from this Poly.

"So, why did you want me to come anyways?"

"I concluded that you would be more comfortable with humans, instead of monsters."
Again spoken with a complete poker face.

"...Why is that?"

After a minute of silence, the Poly finally spoke.

"You seem more human than monster to me. I had the brain of a human multiple times. Even though, I had to
duplicate myself and then kill the old Poly for having bothering factors, such as, emotions."

Max was lost in thought. This monster, definately, creeped him out.

"Okay... so you don't mind me being more human-like?"

"That is not a concern. You lead 300% more efficient than any other Overlord. I shall also keep this thought a secret from any other monsters."

Not completely sure if he should feel grateful or not, Max continued the conversation.

"Right, Poly, can you, uhm, write a record of all the items here please?"

"...How so?"

"What do you mean, how so?"

"Monsters don't know languages. While, I do know all languages in the world, I am 87% sure the Overlord never had the chance to learn language."

'Holy fuck. This is annoying.'

"Right, you know what. I should start a Monster Language or something..."

"Very good, Overlord."

Max immediately wanted to stop talking to this monster.

"So, Poly. One final question."

"Yes, Overlord?"

"What abilities do you have even have?"

The Poly stared right at the Max. It's glare almost pentrating through Max's skull.

Then the Poly began to shapeshift.

It was an ugly creature, but Max could gape in astonishment.

The legs of an Insect Queen.

The body of a Jreet.

The arms of a Zimbil.

One wing of an angel.

One wing of an demon.

The head of a Lich.

The skull opened it's mouth, letting out a sound that sounded like 100 different types of voices combinded.
