You take Cobalt’s Pokeball back from Nurse Alexander and try to avoid her glare as you. Sadly, the Alexander Glare (TM) is an attack that never misses. You don’t really know why she doesn’t like you. It’s not like you come to the infirmary all that often.

“Your Metang has been healed up but I recommend you let her rest for at least a day before putting her through any strenuous exercise.” The Nurse says, as she does her best to burn a hole through your face with her eyes.

“Y-yes, ma’am.” You stutter out, desperately trying to keep your cool.

Her eyes narrow and you have an impending feeling of doom. “You better.” Is all she says though and she walks back into the infirmary.

You sigh, relieved and quickly attach your Pokeball back to your belt and leave the infirmary. Outside, you see Major Cyril speaking to a man in a courier uniform who leaves after a moment. The Major turns to look at you and beckons you to come closer.

“Well, Victor.” He says. “I’ve got some news. The other Savant at the Academy, Ivy Ravel, is willing to meet you. I honestly didn’t expect her to agree. Apparently, she’s somewhat of a shut-in. She’s agreed to meet you at a small cafe in the Market District of the City, but only you. You want to go?“

“Sure, I’ll go.” You say. “But first, what does she look like and how does she act?”

“One second,” Cyril says as he pulls a device out of his pocket. It’s a flat, black rectangle that flips open to reveal a screen and keyboard. Ah, you know what this is. A Pokegear. You’ll be getting one as well as soon as you graduate. But this one is heavily modified, and scarred up to boot. Cyril must use it quite often.

“Here.” He brings up a picture of a dark haired girl with dark grey eyes wearing the academy uniform. She’s rather pretty, once you get past the gloominess that seems a part of her.

“Her personality profile is, well, rather depressing.” Cyril continues. “Loner, extreme shut-in, terrified of social situations, seems to only prefer communication through her Pokemon. She has two registered with the Academy, a Kirlia and a… Zoroark. Huh, she’s from Unova originally.”

He looks up at you. “I’d normally recommend that you be very careful with her but since the two of you are Savants, I don’t expect there’ll be too much of a problem.”

He brings up a message on the screen. “She’ll meet you at 1500, so you’ve got an hour. I recommend you check out the town.”

Shutting the Pokegear, he slips it back into his pocket. “I’ll be seeing you around Victor.”

You wave good bye to the Major and proceed towards the exit, heading into the Market District. The Academy has a tendency to be rather empty at times, especially during classes, but the Market District is practically bursting with life. People crowd the streets, streaming towards cafes and bookstores and restaurants and boutiques. A man carries his daughter on his shoulders while they both enjoy ice cream. A trio of girls interlock chat animatedly while carrying bags of merchandise. It’s all so vibrant. You would join the throngs of people, but your uniform and the weapons on your back make sure that everyone gives you plenty of space.

Pausing for a moment, you check the address of the Cafe you’re supposed to meet Ivy in. It’s only about fifteen minutes away by walking. You’ve got plenty of time, you should buy the girl a gift. Looking around, you see few boutiques selling clothes, a nice little bookstore, a coffee shop and what looks like a fancy Pokemon accessory shop.

>>
>>37802795

You guess you might as well check out the accessories store. Pushing open the glass door at the front, you are greeted by a room limned in glass and brass. You see several people in fancy clothes browsing the shelves, and oftentimes carrying small, cutesy Pokemon. You see several Snubbull and a Vulpix as well.

You take a moment to look at the closest shelf, which appears to be holding collars of various types. Bells on ribbons, bejeweled collars, and other ostentatious devices are on display. You look a little closer, at one of the price-tags.

Three-hundred Dollars!?

You suddenly have a very bad feeling about this.

“Excuse me, sir?” An accented voice inquires from behind you.

You turn around to see a bald man in a suit looking at you. Although he appears to be polite, you get the feeling he’s not too happy to see you.

“May I assist you?” The man asks.

“No, I was just looking.” You say. “I’ll be going now.”

You quickly walk out the doors, breathing a sigh of relief once you’re outside. That was embarrassing but it could have been so much worse. Looking around, you see a man and woman pushing around a small flower cart. Girls like flowers, right? You might as well go see what they have.

Approaching the pair, you step closer to their cart. Almost immediately, the two of them perk up.

“Well, hello there!” The man says. “What can we get you?”

The cart is piled high with roses and tulips and other flowers as well. It’s a pretty impressive sight for something so small.

Before you can protest, the woman speaks up. “What do you know about this girl?” Her voice is rather low and monotonous as opposed to the high energy in the man’s voice.

“Uh, well, she’s a bit of a shut-in-” You’re immediately cut off.

“Roses.” Both the man and woman say simultaneously.

The man continues. “It’s likely that she wouldn’t have a favorite kind of flower so you should go with something basic.”

“...Okay then.” You say. “I’ll take a bouquet of roses then.”
“That’ll be $15 dollars.” The woman says as the man prepares the bouquet.

You hand the cash over and accept the bouquet. As you walk away, the man shouts “Good Luck with your date!”

Your face burns as you quickly leave the vicinity.

Same. We really nees to start mock-battling her with other pokemon for dat experience.

How are you guys thinking we should build our team in the future? Personally, I think it'd be good to get a Skarmory, because its feathers are essentially blades, and a Haxorus, since it can cut through steel. I remember an anon expressed interest in a Crobat too, which I think would be good for general reconnaissance/ambush/stealth.

What do you guys think?
>>
>>37805295
We need a fire mon, as a savant we get a power from each differing type we take. Extra steel would be redundant.
>>
>>37805344
Fair enough.

Anyone have any suggestions on fire types? I'm thinking of something along the lines of fire/fighting, myself, like our buddy Darius has.

>>37805467

>>37805467
Vulpix.
>>
>>37805499

>>37805571
The idea is to multitype for Savant bonuses, isn't it? I'd be fine with fire/fighting, but if we're trying to avoid stacking types like dark/flying/etc., then I think it'd be best to go for either a Litwick or Torchic/Chimchar/that one fifth gen starter
>>
>>37804783

You step slightly into the alleyway, and reach for Shellshocker’s Pokeball. A flash of white light, and he’s standing with you in the alleyway, already alert and focused. You guess that’s the empathic bond working. A thought occurs to you and you let Cobalt out as well.

Her shell is still scuffed and battered from the battle, but she’s awake and alert.

{WHAT DO YOU NEED OF ME MASTER?} She asks through your bond.

{Can you sense anything around us?} You ask her.

She floats silently for a moment before answering. {YES. SOMETHING… UNNATURAL. BUT IT DOES NOT MEAN US HARM. IT IS… CALLING TO YOU.}

You nod. {Thanks Cobalt.} And lift her Pokeball. A Flash of red light and she’s returned to safety.

A thought strikes you and you look behind you. The street bustles with people, but none of them have reacted to the fact you’ve summoned your Pokemon. You shiver. There’s something seriously weird going on.

“Alright Shellshocker.” You say while placing a hand on the hilt of your sword. “Lets check this out.”

>[cont.]
>>
>>37805611
We'll see what we can get so far we have a water, rock/ground, and steel/psi. We lack fire, fighting, dark, normal, fairy, dragon, grass, bug, ice, lightning, ghost, and flying.
>>
>>37805696
we could get a nidoran and level it up to nidoking for poison/fighting.
>>
>>37805677

You advance steadily down the alley, keeping an eye out for any signs of movement. Shellshocker keeps pace with you, his eyes gleaming in the light of the afternoon sun. There’s mainly trashcans and refuse back here. Oddly, there’s no windows from the buildings to the left and the right. As you walk, you realize that there’s less and less light streaming in from above. You look up and find that the area is being shrouded by some kind of shadow. A shadow without a source.
Your grip on the sword tightens and you take a deep breath. Fear will do you no good. Fear is the mindkiller. You let the breath go and the fear with it.

Finally, the alley seems to end. As you exit it, you find yourself in some kind of courtyard. The ground is cobbled and mosses and lichens grow on the walls of the surrounding buildings. There’s no sound, save for the whistling of the wind. You expected to still be hearing the street, but there’s nothing. No sound whatsoever from behind you. The sun still streams down from above, but it’s muted. There’s no warmth in that light.

You step forward, actually setting foot in the courtyard itself.

That’s when IT appears. The shadows of the courtyard twist and curl together and crackling purple light begins to form between them, giving them form. It comes together, fusing into a disturbing sight that floats there in the center of the plaza. A face, dominated by evil eyes and gash of a grin. Disembodied claws float before it, clenching and grasping at nothing. You know what this is, you’ve read horror stories about them, some printed in your very textbooks.

A Haunter.

A deep booming laugh fills the courtyard and you feel a mind touch yours. It’s disturbing, unnatural, to form this kind of connection. But it’s so easy, so… satisfying.

{Hello, boy. I’m glad you came}

Let's assume full evos here:
Blastoise (Water)
Tyranitar (Rock/Dark)
Metagross (Steel/Psychic)

We have five types there. There's... thirteen types left to choose from. Ghost, Fairy, Dragon, Fighting, Electric, Ground, Flying, Fire, Ice, Grass, Poison, Normal, and Bug. Let's go ahead and cross Bug and Normal off our list (unless there's some godly type combo I'm not aware of).

From there, that's eleven types across three mons; with three, each of which having two types a piece, (which isn't likely imo) that's six more relevant types we can add. So:

Which types do we think are more important to have on our team than others? (Nidoking is poison/ground btw)

>>37805803

You feel something, an aura of… fear. It’s being projected outward by the Haunter. It’s trying to unsettle you, to put you off balance. But underneath that, it’s trying to… distract you? To distract you from its own fear. The Haunter is scared and projecting the fear outwards as a defense mechanism. You smirk internally, it just gave you the upper hand.

Time for some flippancy. {So what do you want?} You ask through the tenuous mental link. {I have an appointment I need to get to and I don't want to be late.}

The Haunter snarls. {You will show me respect, boy!}

{Yeah, whatever.} You wave it off. {So did you actually want to talk to me about something or do you just want my delicious soul?}

There’s anger pulsing through that link now, but it’s being held in check.

{Yes.} The Haunter says grudgingly. {I wish to form a contract.}

Your jaw would’ve fallen open if you didn’t just clench it shut.

>[cont.]
>>
>>37806820

Ghost Pokemon are unusual. Instead of being captured, they have to form a contract with a Trainer in order to be used. This binds the Pokemon to the Trainer, permanently. And as Ghost Pokemon cannot die, they will remain with the Trainer until the Trainer’s death. Perhaps even afterwards. That’s not to say that Ghost Pokemon can’t be defeated. They can be dematerialized if they take enough damage, but they will reform where their trainer is at the stroke of midnight. They do not utilize Pokeballs, instead hiding within the body of the Trainer. They do not require material sustenance, although what they do consume is still a topic of debate.

And now one wants to form a contract with you.

>>
>>37806836

{This is a bit... sudden.} You send over the link. {Why do you want to form a contract and why with me of all people?}

The Haunter seems nervous now, and impatient. But there’s also a sort of . {I have watched you for a long time, Victor Kane. I was there when I saw you bury your father’s body. Then I was but a Ghastly specter. I watched you grow and become strong. I witnessed how you bound those others to yourself and how they love you and how you love them in return. There was something that pulled me towards you, something I cannot describe. You are a beacon in this land to those who can sense it. There were others. others who sought to devour you and yours. I fought them, and grew stronger for the effort. But now.” Now, that fear comes to the forefront again. {I am being hunted. Hunted by something old. It seeks to devour me, for I am a Free Spirit. Prey in the spirit world. But if I am bound, I am untouchable.}

Its eyes are cast downward. {I am afraid, Victor Kane. I would bind myself to you. To preserve my existence and strengthen your own.} And you feel something underneath that fear and anger. Something soft and warm. Love.

The Haunter LOVES you.

You swallow nervously. {What are the terms of this contract?}

>[Cont.]
>>
>>37807630

The Haunter moves a little closer, its eyes twitching from left to right, cautious, wary. {I swear to serve you to my utmost ability, to bind my essence with your own and give you my power. In turn, you must provide for me, to sustain me in my time as your Servant. The contract will be sealed in blood and ichor.}

The spectre looks you direct in the eyes, its burning red orbs pleading. {Please, save me.}

>>
>>37807648

>>
>>37807648

You ponder the terms for a moment, evaluating them. It all seems straightforward, except for one part.

{What do you mean by “sustain”?} You ask.

{By binding my essence to yours, I will be a part of you.} The Haunter answers. {I will draw energy from your body and soul. When you are weakened physically or emotionally, my powers are diminished. When you are filled with energy, my power is nigh unstoppable. And when you die, I too shall cease to be.}

You look down at Shellshocker, who stares back up at you. His fear is palpable, but his faith is indomitable. He believes in you to make the right choice.

Taking a deep breath, you respond to the Haunter. {I accept your contract.}

The happiness and relief you feel through the bond are almost overwhelming.

The Haunter rushes to float before you. It lifts its left hand, extending a single sharp talon, and claws across its right hand. Blue-black ichor drips from the glowing wound, spattering on the cobblestones with an acidic hiss.

You hold your own right hand out and draw your knife from your belt with the left. There’s a slight sting as you draw it across the palm of your hand, and you hold the bleeding hand out to the Haunter. It clasps its injured hand with yours.

>[Cont.]
>>
>>37808216

There’s a surge of energy between the two of you that builds and builds. It draws from you and the specter, merging into a titanic reservoir. A reservoir that immediately bursts, filling the both of you with that fused energy.

The Haunter fades from view but you can still feel it. It rests within you, coiled around your heart.

{Thank You.} It whispers through the link. {Now, to finish the ritual, You must name me.}

>>
>>37808389

I'll do votes.
>>
>>37808389
Spoke too soon there.
>>
>>37808239
It might be the ghost of our dad. In light of that I vote Cosby
>>

>>37808239
Geist.

Are there rules on how many pokemon we can have, or is it 'as many as you can carry'?
>>
>>37809073

Sleepless mentioned that 6 was the max that anyone had ever had with 3 or 4 being average.
>>
>>37809073
think OP said that most trainers only ever have 3 or 4 pokemon although some can have up to 5 or 6. No one has ever had more then 6 however.
>>
>>37809129
We'll have 6 balls and a ghost familiar.
>>
>>37809141

Six Pokemon in total can be bound to you. This includes Ghost Pokemon.
>>
>>37809164
Ok then. Still having a ghost is fricking useful.
>>
>>37808239

You think for a moment, running through Ghosty names. You discard several right off the bat and arrive on one you like.

{I name you Geist.} You declare.

{Geist.} The specter murmurs. {... I like it. Even if it is a tad literal.}
Huh, now that you’re joined to Geist, you notice more stuff about him. He’s a little jittery, coming back down from his post-life re-death experience. His thoughts are a smooth river of language. His voice is deep and powerful. He has a poet’s soul and an orator’s tongue. You don’t think you mean that literally. Huh, you yourself might end up using flowery language if you share thoughts this much with Geist. The link between the two of you is strong, pulsing with energy.

Coming back to reality, you immediately make a status check. You notice that the cut on your hand has completely healed, but not into a conventional scar. It is completely black, a line across the palm of your hand. A Symbol of your contract.

You look up and around the Courtyard and note that… nothing had changed. The sun remains shadowed, and the air is dark and gloomy. Only the wind makes noise. This is strange. You thought Geist was the one who had been doing all that.

{No.} Geist responds. {That was the one who was Hunting me. She commands many spirits and together they influenced this area. Humans without the ability to sense the spirit world would actively shy away from here. Hold, I believe we may be able to sense her.}

You feel Geist shift slightly and suddenly, you sense something. It’s as though there are lights scattered throughout the city, each burning brightly. Souls, you’re seeing souls. In the immediate area, there are no souls besides yours, which burns a brilliant gold, Geist’s, a blackish purple, and Shellshocker’s, a pure aquamarine. About a block away, you can sense two souls, one similar to Geist’s and one that burns similarly to a human’s. But the second flame burns strangely, guttering and flickering and shot through with purple.

Suddenly, all those lights fade away and you return to your own body. Your head hurts and you’re disoriented. You fall to one knee, but Shellshocker catches you before you can fall all the way down. Your eyes have difficulty focusing and you close them for a moment, letting your pain fade away.

At your side, Shellshocker carefully helps you to your feet, supporting you as you regain your balance.

{I’m so sorry, Victor!} You hear Geist say. {I truly did not mean for this to happen!}

You were about to respond when you hear the tapping of a cane from across the courtyard. Looking up, you manage to catch a woman entering from another alley on the other side. She’s short, leaning heavily on the ornate cane she carried with her. Her hair is blonde and her eyes are intense and she wears a large grey shawl over a purple dress.

You recognize her instantly. That, is Agatha Spiritbinder, the Champion before Lance. She held the throne for a century before she was defeated. Another of the most powerful trainers in the world.
Those intense eyes immediately zero in on you and you could swear that one of her eyebrows rose slightly. Behind her, a large-bodied figure phases into existence. It possesses a ghostly tail, two arms and a cyclopian head. A Dusknoir.

The member of the Elite 4 walks slowly towards you before stopping a fair distance away.

“Well, well.” She intones, her voice low and calm. “I certainly was not expecting this. I take it you are the one who bound the Haunter?”

"I am, did I do something wrong?"
>>
>>37809381
Yes Ma'am he asked, we made terms and contracted.
>>
>>37809381
she can obviously see his soul attached to ours so i dont think lying will work
"is that a problem?"
>>
>>37809381
"And you would be correct. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a date to arrive to. If you'd like, we could discuss this another time, but for now, I must bid you adieu, madam."
>>
>>37809381
yes ma'am.

Respect is key.
>>
>>37809381
Yes?
are we going to meat the entirety of the elite 4 before the day is out? Wait why are the elite 4 here? I mean one I could understand but seeing as we have met 2 in the same day I'm suddenly wondering why they are all here? Is something big about to go down?
>>
>>37809497
You realize we're at the Indigo Plateau, right? Where else would they be?
>>
So we've been talking about not getting redundant types but, maybe we should find out if the benefits stack. Could another psychic pokemon make us a much stronger psychic and another steel make us near impervious to physical damage. It might still be worth specializing a little more. Also if we do become psychic would having a fire or ice pokemon make us pyro or cryokinetic?
>>
>>37809643
Having Ice or Fire types gives you those abilities -- but I don't think we can really say if we'll got those or not, because things like telekinesis/pyro/cryo etc., only happen after many generations of type specialization.
>>
>>37809679
It was said we would be able to acquire those abilities in a few decades due to being a savant.
>>
>>37809679
I was thinking they only gave resistance. I must have misread.
>>
Bonuses do in fact stack, but returns are diminishing.

Also, while Savants gain abilities in just a few years, they will be weaker than the abilities of someone whose family has spent generations upon generations with a certain Pokemon Type.

The biggest example would be Sabrina Mindbreaker, who is an incredibly powerful psychic.
>>
>>37809792
"Sabrina Mindbreaker" huh.

Shit I wonder what names guys like LT. Surg and Brock have.
>>
>>37809823
CAN YOU SMELL WHAT THE BROCK IS COOKIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNN
>>
>>37809823

"Surge" is the Lieutenant's title.

Brock actually doesn't have one since he has just recently become a Gym Leader.

These are all things you would know in character.
>>
>>37809871
What about Blaine? Giovanni?
>>
Well in order to maximize our savant advantage our last two mons need to be dual typed. We need fire and dragon in there for sure. Ice and Fairy would be nice as well as dark.
>>
>>37809908

Blaine has the title of "The Cinder." Which, interestingly enough, is a title that can only be given to the Leader of the Cinnabar Gym and must be earned.

Giovanni has the title "Earthshaker" since he caused a pretty major Earthquake when he was younger. Fortunately, there wasn't much lasting damage.
>>
>>37810076
Could we get a nickname?
>>
>>37810112

Yes, you can. But it needs to be something you earn. Most nicknames are given by the public, not chosen by the Trainers themselves.
>>
>>37810112
Well considering our looks I can't help but think we won't like any nickname we get. Just imagine if we get a fairy type at some point.
>>
>>37809952
Tyrannitar is dark typed. You read none of the typing speculation, did you?
>>
>>37810156
Tyranitar is still as ways off since pokemon grow at a set rate in this world. Which is why dragons are a bitch to train cause they are slow.
>>
>>37810211
We're a Savant. I'm going to guess you skipped over a lot of the ooc discussion as well, because if you hadn't, you would know that as a savant, our pokemon grow much quicker than any others. In fact, we would actually have an easy time catching and training a dragon type.
>>
>>37810340
I think sleepless said that training a dragon type would be a bitch even for us. Unless we caught it while it was still in it's first stage.
>>
>>37810451

It's a bitch for all but the most skilled trainers. You guys could do it, but it'd still be damn hard.
>>
>>37810451
>>37810340
>>37810479

Axew/Fraxure/Haxorus when btw?
>>
>>37810545
Rather get a Bagon so we can get flying dragon. ALso irony.
>>
>>37810589
We can get other flying types, you know. Like ones that will be of more use than 'hurf SMASH'. Like a Crobat, or Skarmory or something. Shit, with a Skarmory we can use its feathers as swords.
>>
>>37809381

You decide to be upfront and honest. Gotta show respect.

"I am, did I do something wrong?" Gotta make sure you aren’t in trouble either.

Agatha purses her lips. “Not necessarily. It’s just very rare to meet any other Ghost Trainers. Especially one who has just bonded with their first Spirit. Especially at such a late age.”

She walks a little closer, as though staring into your soul. Considering her abilities, though, she . “... How strange…” She murmurs.

You think you might want to get going soon. “Well, if you'll excuse me, I have a date to get to.” You say hurriedly. “Come on, Shellshocker.”

The Wartortle gives the elderly woman a glance before scrabbling over to you. The two of you speed walk back to the alley entrance. You almost make it.

“Hold it.” Agatha says.

You and Shellshocker both immediately freeze and you slowly turn around. “...Yes?” You squeak.

“You forgot your flowers.” She says, smiling.

Her Dusknoir moves forward, holding the bouquet in its massive hands. You carefully pluck the roses from the Ghost’s hands.

“Thank you, ma’am.” You say, smiling rigidly. “I’ll be going now.”

You swear that you heard the woman laughing as you dashed down the alley, Shellshocker close at your heels.

>[Cont.]
>>
>>37810673

Arriving at the entrance to the Alley, you take a deep breath. Shellshocker looks up at you, his expression vaguely exasperated.

“What?” You ask.

The Wartortle just shakes his head and sighs. You give him a look and pull his Pokeball off your belt, quickly zapping him up in a flash of red light. Hmm, maybe you should spend more time with him soon. You’ve been kinda neglecting him.

Looking at the time on a street clock, you realize that you have twenty minutes before you’re due to meet Ivy. You immediately set off towards the meeting place.
_
The Café der Finsternis is a mildly foreboding place. It’s all arches and gargoyles and spikes. The path to the main door goes through some kind of fake graveyard. There’s plastic tombstones and overgrown shrubbery.

{Hmph.} You hear Geist say in your head. {How tacky.}

You’re rather inclined to agree, especially when you see that the door handles are carved to look like human skulls. Sighing, you turn the handle and enter another world entirely.

>[Cont.]
>>
>>37810659
Skarmory is steel flying. Kinda redundant.
>>
>>37810704

The lighting is low, the music seems to be strings heavy and everyone is wearing black or red and has tattoos and piercings. You really stand out in your Cadet Uniform. There’s a lot of dark wood paneling as well as a second floor reached by a spiraling staircase. Other than that, it’s a pretty standard cafe layout, tables, chairs, booths, and an ordering station staffed by a number of baristas. There’s only about a dozen people inside, including you.

The girl standing behind the entrance kiosk seems to be wearing some kind of doll dress. There’s a lot of frills and laces. Her eyeshadow is really heavy, makes her look like she’s half asleep.

Looking around, you don’t see anyone who resembles Ivy.

Most flying types will be, unless we want to catch a Noibat/Bagon/Dratini/Swablu/Fletchling.

Or a bug type, or Delibird, or something. I suppose we could always try for a Charmander as well.

>>37810731
Wait for Ivy. Talk with Geist a bit. Bring out Cobalt, amd see if the two wsnt to talk.

>>37810795
Char line has always been my favorite line.

We could ask the chick at the kiosk if she's here. We haven't seen the second floor.

Asking the girl at the kiosk seems like a good idea, you decide.

“Excuse me?” You say. “I’m looking for Ivy Ravel. Is she here?”

The girl blinks for moment, before focusing on you. Her brows scrunch up as she take in your uniform, and lingers on the bouquet in your hand. “Uh, Ivy? Yeah, I think she reserved a room upstairs. She said if anyone was asking for her to tell them to go up there. Hang on a sec.” She rummages for something behind the kiosk before pulling out a clipboard and looking at it. “Yeah, it’s room 4. Go on up.”

“Thanks.” You say and you walk up the spiral stairs.

Up here, there’s more tables and a bar on the far wall. To your right is a hallway with several numbered doors in it. You walk to the fourth one and knock on the door.

“Come in,” says a soft voice.

You turn the door knob and enter.

She’s sitting at a round table, scribbling something on a notepad in her hand. She looks up as you enter and your eyes meet hers.

There’s a tug, and you automatically feel as though you know her. She’s incredibly familiar, but you know that you’ve never met her before. It’s like deja vu, but you just can’t explain it.

“H-hi.” She squeaks. “I’m Ivy.”

You blink, clearing your head of that strange sensation, and manage to make your mouth work.

“Hello.” You say while presenting the bouquet to her. “I’m Victor.”

Her mouth opens into a small “o” of surprise and takes the bouquet from your hand. As she does, one of her fingers lightly brushes against your hand, and you feel an electric tingle run up from your hand to your spine. She lifts them to her face and inhales deeply.

“They’re beautiful.” She says, smiling at you.

Well, score one for you.

You move closer, closing the door behind you. You note that the room has a TV on the wall and several comfy looking chairs. Pulling one up to the table, you unhook your weapons from your back and lean them against the wall. You sit down across from her.

The two of you stare at each other for several long moments, just trying to figure out each other’s presence.

>>37810795
I'm still all for that Crobat, by the way.

I think poison could enhance our fighting abilities very effectively, especially since we mostly rely on dexterity. Poisoned blades and arrows, anyone?

Hey Guys, we need a Dragon and a Flying type, right?

Altaria.
>>
>>37811934
Damn, that's a good point. If we're doing type coverage as hard as we can, Crobat might have to wait for another quest.

Poison is my favorite type, though.

>>37811990
Personally, I always preferred Noivern. Or we could go full irony and get a Salamence.
>>
>>37812005

You know, we actually need to find these Pokemon first. Sure, we can hunt for them, but we're also apparently going to be on missions and shit. Finding them is going to be tough.
