After Insect Queen explanation, Max quickly called the end of the meeting and asked where he can rest for a while.

'I need some time to think. This is way too much for me...'

Only it really wasn't. A short while ago, Max realized that his emotions weren't as active now. He even noticed that he's accepting this whole Overlord thing a bit too easily.

Not only was his mental state different, but after touching his body parts (his right arm also was able to reattach), Max found his body very strange. His skin was peeling away, organs and tissues are missing, and only his bones are left behind.

It's like he's actually turning into a Lich.

'What am I even doing. I'm not acting like myself at all, but this...'

Only, he still really doesn't know what to do.

Max slightly shuddered when the seperate thought came to him.
The mind magic still unnerved him just a bit.

Apparently, monster races don't have a common language or the sorts.
Besides the 6 Feelti Cazuul, most monsters don't even have the capabilities to speak.
However, with the Lich's powers, Liches - the sole monster capable of mind magic - can be
used as "server" to transmute thought to others.
This seems to be the reason why Liches are the only possible candadites for Overlord.
Without mind-magic, the monsters won't be able to unify themself through communication.

Another point on why Max could be a Lich.
He seems to have an innate affinity with mind-magic that is perfectly capable of replacing the old Overlord as the new "server".
Well, that was the explanation given.
However, sending his own thoughts to others always drain him.
The farther the distance, the more energy he seems to lose.
That's why Max prefer in calling Insect Queen to come to him.

Shortly after, the Insect Queen crawling up the ceiling like it was perfectly natural.

'Yes, Overlord? Why have you called?'

"I have worked under the old Overlord for over 120 years. After, I ate my mother, old Insect Queen, and my sisters.
My domain on insects is proud and wide, however, obviously I, and the other insect races, are under your orders."

Insect Queen seems to have a really unnatural loyalty...

"Tell me more about this kingdom."

After a brief summary, Max attain some useful information.

Though this is a kingdom, monsters aren't the type to work side by side.
Some races are just as hostile to each other than humans.
And there are too many races to count.
Also, there's no such things in laws here.
Of course, it's natural for the monsters to listen to the Overlord, but typically
Overlord don't really set down much authority.
It's a strong-eat-weak world, where the powerful gets to do what they want.
The only thing that actually seems to make some of the monsters coexist is the opposing threat of humans.
And even then, some monsters will still undiscrimnately kill other monsters and humans.

"What are the humans like?"

Insect Queen doesn't really know much about them. More like, she doesn't care.

"Though they are a pain to all monsters in the world, I believe humans are something even below that of maggots and pose no threats."

That sounds a little bit too cocky...
But basically, Insect Queen has barely any information about the humans.
Max pondered about the statement.

'If the humans are so weak, then why is there a need for a Kingdom of Monsters uniting and declaring war against humans.'
Max was about to ask the question, but then was interruppted by an incoming thought.

Insect Queen quickly explains to you,"It's a tradition where a Lich will assemble three different type of monsters. Then the Lich, including his
three monsters, will battle against the Overlord with his own three monsters, as well."

Oh, no. So basically...

Insect Queen continuted to talk,"Obviously, the winner will become or stay as the Overlord, while the loser must go down to the Hole of a Thousand Nesh."

Max took the information as calmly as he could. His lack of emotion helped with that greatly. Even if the Hole of a Thousand Nesh sounded very displeasing.

"Then, I need to fight off this Lich of Thy, guy? With the help of my three monsters?"

"Yes, but just in case you forget, the Overlord can't choose any of the monsters in the 6 pillars. Either way, I will gladly serve our current or new Overlord."

A ting of shock came to Max, after finally realizing the Insect Queen's personality.
She's not loyal to Max, but instead, loyal to the tile of Overlord.
'Is that why the monsters quickly accepted me after I vanquished the old Overlord?'

Insect Queen interupted his thoughts,"You must hurry, Overlord Max. The Kappa will begin shortly. I will lead you, if you require it.
Also, Lich of Thy is very weak in his mind-magic. With your powers that easily opposed against the old Overlord, Overlord Max can simply win by himself."

Then Max found himself in a predicament.
'I don't even know how I blocked the Lich's magic...'

The Insect Queen then continues walking. You swore, she's turning her antena to watch you very carefully now.

'Great, I think I'm losing the respect of my minions...'

"Overlord Max, where do you wish to go first? Do you want to go to..."

After a short walk, Max and the Insect Queen went outside of the castle.
Going to the Acid Pool, which was directly left from the front gate.

Once Max arrived, there lied an amazing scene.

The Acid Pool was true to it's a name, a pool of acid.

Only it was more like a swimming pool.

There were many types of monsters just swimming around in acid pool, enjoying the green liquid and the sizzling noise.

'This is some sort of messed-up public spa...'

But, there's no time to be picky. Max needs to win a battle.

Bringing all the courage he can in his voice, Max shouted,"Hear me, monsters! Obey my call! I was recently challenge in a kappa, who would become my three monsters to join my fight?!"
He also let out a thought to all monsters around him, just in case, they didn't understand him.

He then found out what was his mistake.

As soon as Max finished his statement, all monsters in the pool rushed towards him.

Rambles of thoughts and broken voices flooded towards him.

The monsters continued to rush towards him, with no signs of stopping.

Max prepared the worst, thinking how foolish it must be for him to become some sort of Overlord.

Then a slight, tingling feeling rushed through his body.

It was very strange.

Normally, memory damage should not have been this severe.

Every Lich knows that any monster would quickly partipate in a kappa.

'Strange, very strange.'

With this sense of doubt, the Insect Queen did not even bother in trying to help Max when he was about to get swarmed.

'I shall see what this Overlord is thinking.'

And as soon as the monsters were about to commit the 2nd Overlord killing today, a sense of emotion filled the Insect Queen.

'!!!'

Antennas startled, Insect Queen was ready to get in battle position.

Only, she couldn't.

Her legs started trembling, her thoughts was rambling, Insect Queen was too petrified to even move.

'T-T-This power...'

Insect Queen soon noticed she wasn't the only one who felt the dark power.
All the monsters quickly stopped in what they were doing, some of the weaker ones already fainted.

The source of this overwhelming power of black mana was coming from Overlord Max.

A bluff.

Max had no doubt any of these monsters could easily kill them.
But, they bought the bluff.

The voices and thoughts came very slowly.

Behind Max's back, the 3 new monsters only shuddered to remember the feeling of being so terrified.

Max finally arrived to the Pit of Shyun.

'Really, it's not much of a pit.'

In front of Max was arguably just a very wide crater.

In the middle of the crater was a skeleton wearing a white robe, surrounded by 3 monsters.

They were all Jreets.

Monsters started swarming from all sides.

'Looks like they want to watch the fight...'

'Are all Liches this annoying...' a slight annoyance makes its way to Max.

Max, finally done with the bags of bone, begins to walk to down the crater.

"You three monsters, come with me."

He then turns to the Insect Queen.

The Insect Queen looked stunned by your words. You didn't care to think why, though.

Max just begins to smile.

'I'm not crazy, am I?'

For in the face of death, Max has never felt so alive.

Lixiver watches the new Overlord walks down the Pit of Shyun with 3 mediocre monsters.

'Why did he choose those three monsters? Couldn't he chosen better?'

As a fallen angel, Lixiver doesn't really have the same amount of loyalty to the Overlord than other monsters. He's perfectly capable of questioning the Overlord's action.
He never even liked the old Overlord.

Possibly, he is the only one suspicious of the new "Lich" that just popped up in the throne.

'Oh, there is the Insect Queen. I heard she has spent the day with the new Overlord. Maybe, she contained some new information.'

After spotting the Insect Queen, Lixiver flew toward her location.

"Insect Queen of Green," Lixiver didn't used the new title of Feelti Cazuul. He felt it was too...degrogatory for the pillars. "Why has the Overlord chosen those three monsters?"

No reply.

"Insect Queen?"

"..." Finally, a voice spoke so quietly. "Overlord Max has thanken me for my deed."

Lixiver opened his eyes in shock.
'What? That's ridiculous! Thanking someone is something what... a human will only do.
This Lich is not right... I need to closely watch him.'

THe Insect Queen continued,"Lixiver, I was also surprised by the minions he has chosen. Overlord even turned down the Jreet of Enwrap."

The Jreet of Enwrap?! He was said to be just the strongest Jreet, right below the Jreet of Red.

"But... I was more shocked about his powers."
His powers?

"But the strangest event happened just a while ago," the Insect Queen finally turned her head to Lixiver,"I enjoyed being thanked."

Max started to get tense. He currently had no idea what is going to happen.

He didn't really believe in that.

Without warning, the Jreet uses their coil as a spring to dash towards your minions.

The fight was going by quickly.

One Jreet was enwrapping itself around the Golem, which was letting out it's acid.
However, the Jreet didn't even seem a tiny bit affected by the chemical.

The Byo was swinging it's knives around, hopefully trying to cut it's oppossing Jreet.
Only, the Jreet was dodging around and then gave a solid punch to the Byo's face.

The WinLix could only fly above the Jreet, it just didn't have the power to go near it.

Max finally realized what this kappa was.

It was just a three different 1 vs 1 going at the same time.

>"HAHA, NOW I SHALL END YOU."

'I need to think of a plan.'

Then, it hit him.
A certain way to beat this free-for-all.

Golem, run straight to the Jreet messing with the Byo.
Byo, as soon as you make contact, turn the Jreet into steel with the help of the Golem.'

Your monsters remains confused, not fully comprehending in what to do.

'NOW! DO IT!'

And, they did.

They worked together.

More tactics was even made.

One time, the Golem will throw one of the Jreet up in the air, where a Byo riding an WinLix will take it down from above.

Only, Max was nowhere in sight.

Then a large shadow appeared above him.

The Lich looked up to see flying creature.

It was the WinLix.

And riding above the WinLix was the Overlord Max.

"Yo."

With a deep kick, Max jumped off of the Winlix, holding one leg straight to the Lich's head.

The last thing the Lich of Thy saw was the sole of Max's shoe plummeting down.

"Maybe, power dropping from the WinLix wasn't a good idea."

Both of his legs were shattered and Max is currently lying down on the floor.

Next to Max, were broken shards of a skull and crumbled bones.

They belonged to Lich of Thy.

Max turned his face towards the remains.

Two Lich kills in a day.

"Pssht... nothing personal, kid."

It was a good day.

if we get each individual bone changed and our Lich magic puts us back together then in theory it could work. Maybe even get ALL our bones changed if it doesn't interfere with Lich/Skeleton magic
