You decide that your best action for tonight, given the circumstances, is to lock your door and try to get as much sleep as you can. You don’t think that your days are going to be very restful for quite a while. While the lock clicks shut with a reassuring thunk, you can’t help but think that it won’t really deter anyone if they want to get in, at most it’ll provide you with a seconds warning if say Tatsuko decides the door needs to be out of the way.

But most of your girls don’t care to commit random acts of vandalism just because they feel like it so you figure you’re safe.

Climbing into bed with your usual ensemble of a set of boxers, you try to drift off to sleep. But about fifteen minutes later, you hear a click as the door somehow unlocks, and then opens. Stirring, you lift your head up only to see two indistinct shapes highlighted by the lights of the hallway before the door shuts and then locks again.

“Wha?” you say, even as the two forms climb into bed next to you.

“Hush lover boy,” says Karasuba as she sidles up behind you wrapping her arms around your waist, “If you’re too loud someone might hear you.”

“Mmm,” you reply now that you know that it’s nobody trying to sneak in and abduct you. As the person in front of you lays down, their large body pressing against yours softly, you instinctively reach out and wrap your arms around them, pulling them even closer than before.

“Being a little forward there aren’t we Mr. Galt?” you hear Kazane’s voice say.

For just a second, your body tenses, mildly frightened by the fact that you just grabbed the most powerful woman at your school. But then your mind remembers that not only did she sneak into your room, she’s the one who climbed into bed with you in the first place, not the other way around.

“Deal,” you say, even as Karasuba chuckles and places her head in the crook of your neck.

You hear Karasuba chuckle from your statement before you start to drift back off to sleep, Kazane’s large but soft body held tightly to yours as Karasuba’s smaller and lither body presses against you from behind.

You wake much later, the soft sound of birds making its way through the window along with the still gentle sunlight. Judging by the feeling of your body, you didn’t dream the fact that two of your teachers snuck into bed with you. Opening your eyes, you see Kazane’s face close to yours, only inches away. Asleep her face relaxes, causing her to look much more welcoming than she usually does, almost enough for you to think it’s a good idea to kiss her.

While you do in fact think that kissing Kazane would be a good idea, eventually, you still remember that time you had to kiss Kaname more because you needed to than because either of you actually wanted to. That still leaves a slight bad taste in the back of your mouth and Kazane hasn’t given you her permission to do so. So you don’t.

However, you still feel that you should totally give her a little peck. Your first instinct is her forehead, but for once she’s taller than you, a feat only echoed by Tatsuko and she generally likes to scrunch down so that you’re actually cuddling her and not the other way around. Kazane however is still above you in such a way that trying to do that would more than likely lead to you waking both her and Karasuba by moving that far.

So instead you stretch just your neck, your lips lightly brushing her cheek before you pull back with a slight smile. As you do so, you see Kazane’s eyes open, focusing quickly on you as if she was waiting for you to do something like that.

“Good morning,” you say to her.

“I do?” you say, your head tilted back towards your most violent harem member.

You can’t…you can’t do it. After all this time, with all the cooking you’ve done, you just can’t force yourself to eat from a buffet table. You don’t care if it’s the best buffet in the entire world; it can’t beat your cooking.

Glancing over at the door that the landlady usually comes out of, you don’t actually see that much activity going on. Presumably that is where they actually cook food instead of the stuff that comes out and gets put on the buffet. You don’t see anyone looking at the door, so you simply sidle your way through.

Looking inside you see…an actual kitchen. It’s an honest to god actual kitchen, almost like from your house. Also inside is the landlady, with her long lavender hair and traditional outfit. You’re sure it has a name but it’s currently escaping you.

As you step inside she turns to look at you.

“Oh,” she says, “You’re Karasuba’s friend.”

“That would be me,” you say, hoping that you don’t get summarily thrown out of her kitchen, “Are you Miya?”

The landlady gives you a smile and a chuckle, covering her mouth with a hand.

“She’s mentioned me has she?” she asks.

“A few times,” you say with a smile.

“So what brings you back here?” she asks you again, turning back to her cooking.

“Actually I was hoping to use your kitchen,” you say, to which she turns back around and raises an eyebrow.

“You wanted to use the kitchen?” she asks, “There’s food in the dining room.”

You give her a grimace. “It’s a buffet though.”

She gives you another look. “You don’t enjoy a buffet?”

“I prefer homemade food,” you say, “I generally cook my own.”

She looks at you, then back at her food, then back at you.

“If you like you can join me,” she says, “I was making my own food but I can make room for one more.”
