>Summary:
You are Heracor Nahive, techpriest working as an escort for the mighty Commissar Oihan Alzador and currently in the Death World of Plinia Vesus to mitigate the riots and disturbs that the thousands of prisoners destined there are creating. Chaos cults have formed on the prison cities around the surface what once was just a simple mitigation has now become a full war.

From the sanguine and fiery explosion a giant man descended…It wasn’t a man but an insult to the sacred human form. It stood over twelve feet tall and he was surely over a ton in weight.

His skin was gone leaving his muscular frame completely naked and in a display of gore with the exception of his head, his skull laid bare bleached white and caked in blood its empty eye sockets glow with warpfire, on his jaw his teeth turned into beast like fangs.

It seems that the ritual or process was done in a rushed way, his limbs and lower mandible twitched and had spasms that left big pools of blood every time they happened.

After descending quickly advanced towards a now blood drained body and skinned it alive in a traumatising show of mutilation. With the fallen bodies of both prisoners and guardsmen he made a cloak to hide its face and decorated it with different skull and bone parts.

“COME TO ME IMPERIAL DOGS, KILLING YOU WILL BE ENOUGH TO PLEASE LORD KHORNE AND ASCEND ME COMPLETELY!”

If confronted winning wasn’t assured, it was unknown how powerful really that warp creature was but if we tried to run away our retreat would give him more time and people to kill us all yet with only one of us surviving we would have the chance of calling for reinforces or maybe even the Holy Inquisition…

“Anyone who tries to leave behind their fellows will be declared a coward and executed on the spot and all his family including two past and future generations considered traitors to the Imperium!” Yelled Oihan.

You were sure that she was also considering tactical retreating but her words made sure that her soldiers would stay quiet at least for now and that Noctum wouldn’t take all their skulls.

>Sacrifice guardsmen and maybe a tank or two to buy time and retreat.
>Try to fight the daemonically ascended enemy.
>Free action.

Also, pic is how I pretty much imagine the daemon but feel free to have other headcanons thats cool with me.
>>
>>37676700
Every Wednesday and Sunday man. Oh btw this Sunday I'll be busy so the next thread will be moved to Saturday.
>>
>>37676704
>Free action.
Inform HQ (with lots of yelling in panic), have drill change plans and drill under him instead, shoot at his legs as we retreat (he'll heal fast, but continuous damage ought to slow him down just enough), have guardsman shoot in unison at one spot rather than individually.
Unfortunatly we may not be able to fully retreat, or he just goes to free his master.
But we need a bit of time to know how to deal with it.
>>
>>37676724
Same poster. To clarify, I'm not advocating a full retreat, but getting some distance before fully engaging. We should also tell Oihan about the drill plan, have her see reason that we can't just fight it head on.
>>
>>37676744
Of course not. powerfist chan would fist us if we tried to run.

Gimme a minute I need to think...very quickly. my goodness this is going to be levels of fun typically reserved for dwarf fortress.
>>
>>37676704
>Try to fight the daemonically ascended enemy.
RIP AND TEAR!
>>
>>37676774
Personally my plan is to play keep away but circle so it stays in the same spot-ish, causing damage that slows it down. Once the specialists have set the charges, it detonates and causes the ground underneath him to collapse, putting him off balance and giving us our opening to fire at will and take him out with overwelming firepower. Back up plan is having the drill tunnel up and through the fucker to give us our chance.
>>
>>37676724
Working on this.
>>
>>37676823
We are still telling Oihan that we can't fight it up close and win, right? Just to check.

She'll be angered by those words, but victory for the imperium instead of defeat at the hands of the enemy might make her see reason.
>>
>>37676704

Right. Time to warmup the brainchip again!

Extreme close combat ability, close combat likely suicide, even worse death would result in further empowerment. heavily focused on killing. Draws power from it?

Original form had heightened agility speed and strength likely even moreso post mutation

Possible solutions
1)Concentrated attack, extreme losses, high chance of death and failure of mission.

2)Tactical withdraw. commissar may try to kill me for cowardice but creature is possibly higher threat level than Butcher. It also wants to kill as much as possible to empower itself. deny power source creature may cease function.

3)Omega Drills, if forced into a singular location the terrain could be collapsed upon it or in chance of machine spirits blessing direct contact of target to drilling apparatus.

4)Distraction, it seems extremely confident. It could be lured into direct combat and delayed while Commissar Oihan enacts a plan. Risky but no guardsman could survive close range, bionics increase odds of survival to...possibly beyond instant death.

Seriously wish we had a fucking space marine right about now. or 200...

Sorry for taking so long. I am doing a house chore super quickly. The answer is roughly 80% written

You grab the of the Chimera and first explain the plan to Oihan before she gives you green light and communicates it with the rest of the soldiers. Your ideas might be good but she's the leader after all, the guards will follow her no matter what.

The drill is informed and is ordered ascend sooner than they thought. Besides the pilot there is inside ten specialized guardsmen with enough demolition charges to destroy a fortified base, you hope it will be enough…

You use your Military Grade Vox Caster and your cogitator to connect with the radio emitting dish and send your message as far as you can. Your voice waves travel across the contaminated and toxin covered smog jumping from repeater to repeater until they finally reach the HQ.

“HERACOR TO HQ, HERACOR TO HQ. WE ARE FIGHTING DAEMONS REPEAT WE HAVE FIGHTING DAEMONS”

You almost fell off as the Chimera started moving back as Oihan ordered it. All the vehicles and soldiers started moving back from the range of his massive axe and its runic and fire covered claw.

“FOCUS FIRE ON ITS LEGS! WE HAVE TO STOP IT AT ALL COST!”

Bolter and laser fire started impacting the best they could on the muscular and naked legs of the beast. Blood splattered all over whenever they impacted but the guard wasn’t able to rip even an inch of his meat.
According to your calculation the drill would leave a 200 meter crater and the creature was just in the edge of the affected area.

>Let the vehicle ascend and surprisingly attack the creature with its meltadrills, deploy the bombs and retreat
>Explode the vehicle and turn all its crew into martyrs by making all the explosives explode at once under its feet.
>Free action.
>>
>>37676865
Well, Heracor knows pretty much nothing about daemons so he doesn't really has that knowledge, luckily Oihan does.

And btw trying to fight a giant daemon up close is a bad idea that's common sense and our protagonist is all into that.
>>
>>37677059
Let the omega drill breach and hammer it. literally toss the fucking bombs at it and either get that drill on a suicide course or fucking leg it.

Hell as much as its painful to see a good machine spirit die if the promethium tanks can add to the explosion use as part of the bang letting its crew abandon it.

Seriously I don't like losing men even if they're IG who's sole purpose is to die. I'd rather we lost them against something that DOESN'T feed on their deaths.

Maybe try and stun the thing with a hotshot to its skull or legs. Even a prince ought to flinch from it.. I hope.
>>
>>37676941
>Let the vehicle ascend and surprisingly attack the creature with its meltadrills, deploy the bombs and retreat
Fuck yeah and good morning Heracor!
>>
>>37677059
>Let the vehicle ascend and surprisingly attack the creature with its meltadrills, deploy the bombs and retreat
Shoot at it's face in the meanwhile to blind it, deafen it, and all around distract it. And have everyone get ready to move in and erase the daemon from the materium.
>>
>>37677059
>Let the vehicle ascend and surprisingly attack the creature with its meltadrills, deploy the bombs and retreat.
>>
>>37677154
I bet that daemon weighs a ton and a half.

Have the drills make a tunnel nearby, just below the surface, put some Det charges on the ceiling and bombs in the tunnel, blast the ceiling, make him fall in the tunnel and THEN we blow it up.
>>
I really hope this does more then just piss it off. I really really REALLY do.
>>
>>37677331
That just gives him a cover advantage until we drive the tanks literally up to the crater! Please for the sake of the Emperor don't do that! He's already a walking deamonic death machine!

>Let the vehicle ascend and surprisingly attack the creature with its meltadrills, deploy the bombs and retreat.

You could send the signal to activate and detonate their charges at any moment but that would kill the soldiers, the machine and worst of all, that would be disobeying Oihan.

The tanks got on range and aimed towards the now running daemon, most had to stop in the last second and re calibrate their sights because the missing in the position they were in would mean shooting loyal guardsmen instead.

The few shells that hit him did pretty damage, stunning and slowing him almost entirely.

"The head, we have to blind him!" You say to the closest soldiers as you discard the empty power pack and insert the new one to hotshot him again. You killed him once, you could kill him twice.

A tank got on his reach and shoot at it first with a shell that impacted directly on its chest and then with the flamethrowers. Noctum used his claw to pierce the tank from side to side with great effort, the holes it left on the thick ceramite hull were orange like if they were red hot. He then ripped open the upper hatch and grabbed the remains of the dead guardsmen to suck them dry of all their blood and then eat their skulls whole.

While he sucked blood all the lasers and bolters impacted on it but it seemed that they made no effect on him. In fact he seemed that the few wounds he had and the process of daemonification increased as he did this.

"ASCEND!!!" Yelled her feminine yet rough voice.
>>
>>37677366
He doesn't have a gun or anything of the sort, does he? Just make the hole deep enough he can't get off it easily and lob grenades and bombs there until he stops twitching.
>>
>>37677407
Na, just gigantic demonic axes and such. He's all melee, like pretty much all Khornate princes.
>>
>>37677407
You don't need guns when you're an insanely strong deamon prince. Before he pulled this shit he was jumping around like a headcrab on crack he's literally toying with us and we're banking on it to kill him.

I want the sucker punch to hit him right in his deamonic FACE.

Plus I'm positive if we put him in a hole he'd literally jump out of it hulk style with his new power level.

If this doesn't work we're forced to retreat since we have literally nothing that could kill him. bar orbital bombardment blind fire on our heads.
>>
>>37677396
The ground rumbled hard and then after what seemed like a scale four earthquake the great yellow and white drill breached the surface with its orange melta instruments. The daemon seemed surprised by this and did the best he could to stop the massive ramming vehicle.

Noctum's great arms grabbed each side of the drill but the bold pilot continued advancing and destroying the warped's chest and face as he did. Once outside ten black fitted men with democharges exited and ignoring the daemon vs machine battle that was next to them started running and dropping the charges as they did.

One of them managed to return to the vehicle but as he did Noctum dropped its axe and using his claws started ripping the drill side by side, all this while the melta of it continued grinding and destroying its body.

Noctum won. After some struggle were both the drill and the daemon started destroying and ripping each other the machine ended exploding, killing the pilot and the unfortunate soldier that was inside.

Its companions unable to exit grabbed their lasguns and started retreating while shooting at him to no effort.

All the ground crackled softly, seemed like the Basilisk’s shelling and the drilling had left the surface weak and fragile.
If they continued fighting the entire floor could just disintegrate under their feet and make them all die horribly under a sea of lava

>Ok, this is going to sound weird but since there were 22k prisoners who sacrificed themselves for Noctum I want you players to roll 220d100 to calculate Noctum's health.

>Every attack towards him will have a dice roll that I will judge, the better the action the better the dices.
>Feel free to complain and suggest other systems if you have a better idea.
>>
>>37677453
Like I said, traps and Tunnels. He can't kill us if he is buried to his waist in rubble and bombs while we throw Krak grenades at him.

Too bad that's going to take a while, but it should be doable with a fighting retreat to get some prep time.

Sweet mother of Sanguinius that's a lot of health.

How many people are around the Daemon and how many are within the lava Danger Zone?
>>
>>37677542
I see where you're going. if we can superheat the rock enough we could literally send him plunging into the lava depths. He's only partially ascended his odds of surviving the lava bath are abysmal especially if we bury him in rock from above.
>>
Rolled 11, 66, 93, 14, 54, 79, 91, 83, 10, 76, 11, 71, 48, 44, 83, 39, 46, 90, 15, 96, 94, 33, 67, 7, 34 = 1355 (25d100)

>>37677535
Here's d100 version. Also, telling people to get clear of the lava zone so we can trigger it sounds good.
>>
>>37677560
The problem is the area. Lasgun Barrages can probably superheat the rocks in the surface enough, but if it really is that thin then it might make the entire area fall into the lava and the death of those IGs fighting him might be enough to complete the transformation.
>>
>>37677636
At this stage if he survives the bombing we don't have a choice but to risk it. Its a fuckign deamon prince this is something you typically throw an entire chapter of space marines at and hope for the best or flat out exterminatus its face off from orbit. We're doing insanely well here.

Much as we've tried to keep them alive we're going to lose a good few guardsmen from this.

I just hope they don't die in vain and he stays dead. I'm sort of banking on it since he seems to have made a deal with khorne for his full ascension by killing the entire force.

Admire my masterpiece. The blue circle is the explosion radius. The black oval is the drill and the red star is Noctum. Brown box is Leman Russ and yellow box is Chimera. The Green Blob are guardsmen
>>
>>37677673
well, orbital Bombardment is out of the question, and our artillery is doing jack shit to him.
We need to keep him pinned down while our troops get away from there. Meanwhile, we need to try to find a way to dunk him in the lava really fast.
>>
>>37677673
Dying while having only killed a tank crew and drill pilot after ascension would certainly be a big 'fuck you' to this asshole and Khorne for the wasted investment.
Ascends to kill and IG regiment and dies with a kill count in the single digits. The only way it could be more shameful is if it was 0.
>>
>>37677690
So it's mostly free? Perfect. A Leman Russ is a small enough price to pay, in order to send that daemon where no daemon has gone before... INTO A VOLCANO!
>>
>>37677690
Tanks 5, 8, 11, 12, 13, and Chimera 7 need to back up fast as we detonate. Relay the order.
>>
would falling into lava even hurt it? I mean it melted the armor off a tank
>>
>>37677715
That's just the explosion radius. The ground has been weakening due to the heat and the combat. It is unknown how big will end being the continuing destruction.

Also. We have killed a possessed human with barely 10 people and only a casualty, and now a daemon prince with just a small regiment. Am I making this way too fantastic and not grimm enough?
>>
>>37677729
That IS true... it'd at least slow him down enough for us to regroup and get some distance, maybe some reinforcements.
>>
>>37677690
We can't afford to waste the advantage he's not stupid and knows we're taking him fully seriously.

Try and get the the tanks out of the soon to be sinkhole but we're blowning him the fuck up. theres just no if and or buts about it. If a men have to die so be it.

>>37677729
He's only halfway deamon plus the warps weird like that. Gives him warpfire super heated claws but the rest of his flesh could burn off/freeze. We're really out of options besides this though.

Worst case the planet gets a new deamonic prisoner trying to claw his way out.

>>37677739
We're just abusing the fact Heracor is more about doing things smartly and minimizing losses instead of going full Rupert and sending thousands to their deaths.
>>
>>37677739
We killed a Possessed human with a group of Elite fighters and a lot of cheap tricks, and this time the Daemon Prince is only half ascended.

I'd say it's ok.
>>
>>37677739
It would help us at least. It has to wad through burning lava that burn off its blood constantly to get to us while we shoot that fucker from the edge and back up as he gets closer.

How about this...

>Tell the troops to retrea- I mean, Advance Backwards and keep shooting the Daemon.
>Bomb the area as soon as possible and keep bombing him until he sinks.

>Don't. Stop. Keep Moving.
>>
>>37677766
You know once the Inquisition arrives we are so getting snatched even if we don't want it.

our track record thus far since learnign the warp is real is killing a deamon host with 10 or so men and a tube full of coolant losing only one or two fighters. And if we pull this off killing a attempting to ascend chaos cultist who could normally kill half a god damn regiment before being put down. With an armor column and about 500-600 guardsmen and some brilliant work with an omega drill.

I know which guy I'd put in my team.
>>
>>37677805
That or kill us when they discover we lied to a Commissar to get off the planet.
>>
>>37677834
Heracor was a techpriest of a moderate importance on a pretty basic forge. Nobody would miss him...right?
>>
>>37677850
They will Kill us.
And then the Inquisitor suddenly recruits this new Techpriest that has no relationship with a certain mister Nahive, no sir.
>>
>>37677850
Ironically I'd risk life and limb in the inquisition. If we're poached by them I think we're actually untouchable by the ad mech unless they want to get forceful about it. Its either that or figure out how to disappear, possibly in the company of a sneaky eldar trying to reach a rogue trader of somekind later on. Or just going full blown HERETEK when backed into that corner.
>>
>>37677899
We'd definitely be drafted into the inquisition. We have shown the type of mind and the kind of loyalty that they look for, not to mention a Techpriest with IG experience is just the kind of agent an Inquisitor looks for his retinue, especially since we've shown to be cooperative with others who are in the same job, which is a problem with techpriests working in other factions.

So, Ordo Xenos, anyone? We do have an Eldar contact...

You zoom at the rifts that are opening under their feet and inform Oihan about it. Seconds later she's confirming it with a pair of binoculars.

"RETREAT!!" Orders Oihan pointing at the long yet soft hill that ended in the tunnel.

The poor demomen saw how their companions ran back before they could grab them back. Some of them fell on their knees full of despair and were soon slain by Noctum, others just went to their last deployed bomb. They preferred to die blasted by their own explosives than at the hands of the enemies of the Imperium.

As soon as all the tanks were out of the explosion's reach you send the signal. The next few seconds are tense but then it is cut by the charges activating and sending fire and destruction all across their path.

A massive hole forms around the daemon. He tries to jump but doesn't manages to do it, his clawed fingers grasp around the ledge but using the already charged hotshot twinlinked shotgun, your zoom and your auto-aim you manage to shoot his fingers off. He falls down in a scream that roared and deafened anybody who was close enough.

Leman Russes 4, 5, 8, 11, 12 and 13 fall from the following rockslide as their inferior speed of 35 km/h off road doesn't stands a chance against the speed of nature.

You cannot avoid crying as you see not only the machine spirits falling into the deepest pits of this dammed planet but also their crew who will never be recovered. Half of the city-prison falls too and turns the peninsula into a island.

"Oihan Island. Formerly MegaPrison 03 Peninsula. Doesn't sounds so bad right!?" Yelled a cheerful Oihan over the radios of all the still running vehicles.

At the end barely no guardsman on foot was affected by the structural destruction of the ground but some of them died in the avalanche that came afterwards and a couple of them run over a Chimera. The pilot and crew of the vehicle were harshly punished but they did a good work on the battle, they didn't deserved death.

>One Omega Drill
>A few dozen Guardsmen.

Enemies killed:
>One Daemon Prince. Extra Crispy.

A job well done, I'd say. Surprisingly few casualties.

>Fun while it lasted but it's time to leave to survive.
>End up on a remote planet outside of Imperium influence.
>Start building up our own faction.

or alternatively:
>Contacted by one of the Imperium's enemies such as Chaos or Tau.

I think we'd work better with Tau. Constantly innovating technology and using (mostly) level-headed tactics, Heracor would fit right in.

Can we just poke fun at power fist chan?

"This is possibly the only time I will hear a commissar scream the words retreat in my life time. Thank you for this unique experience.

Please never let us have to kill such a thing again. I know you won't but please lie to me."

After shenanigans and aftermath we definately need to contact the inquisition or that damn eldar. these cults are way more advanced then I thought they were.
>>
So, how do you guys think Oihan will react when she finds out we lied to her so she would get us off the Forge World?

Execution? Maybe a thousand lashings before throwing us to jail?

"Don't worry Heracor. I already knew everything. Now get ready to leave we're going to an ice Planet filled with mutant Snow Orks. It'll be SO fun"
>>
>>37678007
The travel back to the Outpost was covered in silence. Next to you stood the silent and apparently catatonic Lanky.

She never thought that Noctum would be destroyed. Fear covered her heart and later confessed that when she came running towards the Imperial she was hoping for a quick death by lasgun to not participate on the ritual.

Lanky never knew anything besides ZeroThree and she somehow managed to stay loyal to the emperor thanks to the abandoned church that lied on the subterranean levels of the prison.

"Oihan?" You asked at the door of her private compartment.

"Come on in Heracor" Her voice answered from the other side.

Inside you found a small office that had a comm cogitator and the necessary instruments to receive and send different orders.

"I have decided to contact the Inquisition. First the Butcher, now this. Something weird is happening here."

"I agree Miss but this is not the reason I am here for."

"Oh?" Answered her raising a eyebrow. "Surprise me Techpriest"

"I would like to know if Lanky could be transferred to the Imperial Guard. It's the least we could do for her"

"Well, she has been helpful that's true. Her reward for that has been not dying with the rest of the prisoners. I am not sure she's totally free of taint and that she's guardsman material."

Even if your face was pretty much featureless she noticed the disappointment in you.

"Well there are other chances. You could always get her under your wing like I did with you, train and take care of her or...send her to the HQ, I heard there is a Sister Hospitalier working in there who can not only treat her better than fire but also teach her in their faith...whatever you do remember that she is nothing but a nameless prisoner, maybe killing her and ending her misery would be the most humane option."
>>
>>37678223
>Get Lanky under your protection. Work with Fire to get her bionics and recover her health and teach her on the way of the Omnissiah

>>
>>37678264
Depends she's an innocent but she's been tainted by the warp. the final say is with the big =][= in this case but if she has the faith she could have a chance of purification working.

If she keeps the faith and takes this second chance she ought to be fine barring deamons in her skull saying otherwise.

She'd either be purged, taken by the =][= for study, or given a chance at purification and redemption or die trying.

Also free action this even if its poking the beast I can't resist

>Get Lanky under your protection. Work with Fire to get her bionics and recover her health and teach her on the way of the Omnissiah
>>
>>37678237
I say let her go to HQ if we can meet the Sister Hospitalier first. She kept faith, provided intel, and is on the planet due to being 'native' rather than crimes against the Imperium and the Emperor. We can offer bionics to help with her health if necessary.

Also so much for looking into the 'underdark', unless the entrance is still intact. I assume the possibility of a similar incident with the other prison with a ominous leader as been discussed with the other leaders.

>>Let her go to the HQ and be nursed by the Sister Hospitalier. She's loyal and has been purged by fire, she will fit.

She needs more then bionics I'm afraid. during the start of this fight with the deamon prince wannabe she screamed in pain and barely held to life against his fell pull. If she wasn't restrained she'd of likely killed herself as well.

She's got a taint alright but she has the will to resist and fight it. At least with the sisters she has a chance to save her soul and mind.
>>
>>37678199
"This is possibly the only time I will hear a commissar scream the words retreat in my life time. Thank you for this unique experience. Please never let us have to kill such a thing again. I know you won't but please lie to me." You say out of the blue.

She looks at you pissed as hell and points her bolt pistol at your head, his fist crackles with energy as she advances towards you.

With both formidable weapons raised and pointed towards you Oihan gets close the barrel of her pistol gets on the side of your head as she removes the safe... she then just pinches your skeletal nose with her gloved thumb and index fingers.

"Don't play with me Heracor, you cannot win" She jokes going back to her seat.

Your HUD Indicates that your heartbeat as surpassed the 130 pulsation per second.

Seems like most votes got to send her to the HQ. Working on that now.

>Let her go to the HQ and be nursed by the Sister Hospitalier. She's loyal and has been purged by fire, she will fit.

"I think that the Sister is the best Idea. Do you think I could go with her?"

She seemed to doubt.

"No, we have to meet with Nicholo and inform him of what happened. Why do you want to go to HQ?"

"I want to tell about this to the other Skitariis and Techpriests"

"Denied! What we saw is something that nobody should ever see in their life...You knew a techpriest called Haxmas right?"

You simply nodded.

"He had to be executed. His state of mind became way too altered after he surveilled the Butcher. You see this things don't only attack your body but also your mind. Don't brag about it, ever."

With that last answer she denied any further questioning and you couldn't do nothing but simply sit and wait to reach the outpost.

After everybody rested and the vehicles were parked to be repaired and analyzed you saw the train guarded by a few selected guardsmen heading to the HQ.

First things first. Techpriests duty. After that it'd be best to get some rest and talk with the guardsmen in my opinion.

Plus I want to listen to their insane stories about us with ehnanced hearing if we can get away with it. We just put down a khorne flakes cult and their aspiring prince. I wonder how fast the bullshit amplifier is ramping it up. Even if she demanded us to secrecy theres no way the men aren't whispering about it.

Plus who knows what gossip they hear, might be something useful to learn.

> Repair the damaged vehicles.
Your mission might be done but not your work, your work will never be done until all the heretical and xenos machine spirits are liberated from their torture.

The Chimeras, Basilisks, Russes and the surviving drill returns to the garage where they are cleaned of dust and impurity by scrub servitors whose arms have been changed for hoses that
can blow water, soap and air.

Once clean you proceed to cheek them. Those savages had little chance of hurting those admirable vehicles. Their poorly made knives and swords barely chipped the strong hull, a chant of gratefulness while their metal plates are flattened and repainted will be enough.

You also proceed to do the "Rite of Updatation" were you write the serial numbers of the fallen vehicles to delete them once for all of the DataBase. Both the Cogitator and you will miss those tanks.

As you work you manage to hear about the soldiers who stayed there guarding the outpost question about the mission. Luckily most soldiers heard Oihan's rant across the thin walls of her office and knew that speaking about it would be a bad idea. All the answers those soldiers received were thus vague and half-truths. You bet they will discuss and brag among the soldiers who were there thought.

After meditating about it you agreed with Oihan. The few soldiers who stood there were lucky of not experiencing the fight with Noctum. You doubt that memory will be only you will be able to delete from your brain.

>>MEETING IN THE MAIN ROOM IN 05 MINUTES<<

Flashed suddenly in your head. It was a official order from Oihan, missing it would mean treason. In the room you found Fire next to his protegee Nicholo and Oihan. There were also some other Imperial Generals and Officials gathered there.

"Well seems like everybody is finally there" Said a man who looked stoic and made from birth to be successful at warfare.

The room went dark and a holographic map of the planet appeared.
>>
>>37679601

"As I was saying; MegaPrison 03 has been partially destroyed and cut down from communication. Part of the rails became destroyed when the ground fell down." Said Oihan. A holo-image took from satellites showing the newly formed and still unofficially named "Oihan Island"

"Is there anything valuable trapped inside? Some vehicle or weapon maybe?" Added a female elderly General.

You felt kinda shocked because he didn't seemed to care about the possible trapped guardsmen, only the weapons.

"We don't know. Everything inside should be dead but there have been electrical surges and signatures in the other other side of the Prison"

"Its surely a glitch, a mistake." The Officer who said this looked at you dead in the eye when pronouncing the word mistake, he seemed to have some issues with the AdMech.

"The thing is. We have proof of chaos worship and cults in 03, besides one of the prisoners said something about a Crystalline Underdark. She lived surrounded by chaos cultists and still felt terrified about it. We have to investigate it"

"What about MegaPrison04. Commissar Nicholo has given us intel about mutants and other deviants of the sacred human form in there. It deserves a cleansing, sending soldiers to a empty and dead prison city instead of destining them to kill mutants is almost heretical Oihan" added once again the female General.

>Intervene and agree about investigating the ruins of MegaPrison03 and exploring the underdark

"The surge was likely no mistake, the leader of the cultist even had a makeshift autogun. Also, having more knowledge could aid us further, especially if there's a chance that what happened at MegaPrison 03 happens at MegaPrison 04. They also have a leader with a passed down name if I recall."

"If I may... speak. I would agree that MegaPrison04 would be a natural priority under normal circumstances. That was before witnessing MegaPrison03 and its...inhabitants.

Something very... wrong happened there and possibly still is. At the least this Underdark is a possible tunnel network crossing the planet providing unexpected attack routes for the enemy. At worst it could house even greater heresies then the one so far witnessed."

So many high ranking toes to step on. so many careful steps to avoid them. have to play on their paranoia of heresy and dark things to convince them to explore it. 04 is a radiated hellhole and just full of mutants. 03 could still be harboring chaos taint even worse then expected.

"Indeed it would be wrong to allocate a large force to the task, however given the involvement of the great foe in this case it would be negligent to not investigate and destroy any traces. Given the simultaneous nature of the uprisings this is not likely an isolated incident either" You spoke, your voice standing out from the others from its mechanical and artificial sound.

"Mmmmh...Go on." Said her, somewhat more relaxed.

"Tsk!" Added the Officer

"The surge was likely no mistake, the leader of the cultist even had a makeshift autogun. Also, having more knowledge could aid us further, especially if there's a chance that what happened at MegaPrison 03 happens at MegaPrison 04. They also have a leader with a passed down name if I recall."

"An autogun!? Are you two really scared for a half broken autogun? It could be just a old weapon left over by the old forces that once worked here" Complained the Officer with his venomous tongue.

"Please listen to us..." You begged "Something very... wrong happened there and possibly still is. At the least this Underdark is a possible tunnel network crossing the planet providing unexpected attack routes for the enemy. At worst it could house even greater heresies than the one so far witnessed."

Before the Officer could pout and counterattack again the elder General shut him with a killing glare.

"Ten men. You will use one of our Valkyries. You have 48 hours after that time you and all the survivors are ordered to flight to MegaPrison ZeroFour. Anyone who doesn't returns will be considered a traitor deflector unless given proof of its death"

After that the reunion was over and Oihan greeted you with a small fist bump before heading to bed. The lack of sleep and stress were visible on her face.

"Do me a favor. Grab ten soldiers for tomorrow morning will ya?"

I'll agree on the psyker. But don't ogyrns hate the dark and get spooked easily since they're so stupid?

Plus they're huge if we get into a firefight underground in cramped quarters they're just blocking fire lines.
>>
>>37680317
What about a medic? Psycher is mostly to tell if something's up in advance, plus Khornates hate Psychers. We don't know what we'll find so a sniper would help us observe from a distance, even if the terrain is bad.
>>
Actually just thought of something. we ought to pack a flamer. Bonus points if it uses gel-based promethium fuel. It could be slathered into a chokepoint to cover a retreat and purge any heretical artifacts found. Probably an issue with smoke though.

Thought about a shotgun but we already have a built in sword.

>>
>>37680521
Honestly might be smart.. even if khornates have a hatred for psykers we're going straight into a possible cult hive.. I'd guess native life forms but this planet was chosen for a lack OF said life forms.

We might even run into deamons here. I hate going in blind.

On the flipside alot of us don't want psykers because they're literally doors for deamons to claw out of the warp with. and we're going near a groundzero of warp activity. If he fucks up keeping his mind safe at the least his heads gonna pop at the worst he's suddenly deamon host.
>>
>>37680521
Reason I didn't want psyker is because in Chapter Master game, those fucks keep exploding into demons it's only a matter of time when.

Granted the in universe benefits of having a psyker greatly overweight the risk of those daemonbaits

Ask and the lexicanum shall answer! From the archives

"Melta Weapons are heat-based weapons which work by sub-atomic agitation of the air. Targets on the receiving end are heated to the point of being vaporised. The effect on flesh is fearsome to say the least, while vehicles can be reduced to molten slag. Most melta weapons use highly pressurized pyrum-petrol gases with a two part injection system which forces the gases into a molecular state, which will vaporise just about anything. Unfortunately, due to the high power consumption and range dissipation, the weapon is only effective over very short distances, but anything caught in the blast is likely to be destroyed."

if you want to use it thats your call. alot of imperial guard equipment is varied and depends on planet and sector. Hell theres Leman Russ battle tanks that run off wood from what I've read.

if its still relevant fluff I'm not sure but the lexicanum tends to be kept up to date.

The next morning everybody is waiting in the small takeoff pad in the exterior.

All the personnel with the exception of the pilot who is starting the engines and checking everything is outside in one line waiting for the inspection.

Oihan checks them all and places special excruciating in the psyker. After she's done they all raise their arms with their main gun on their hands so you can inspect them too, the only equipment that you cannot check is the one of the psyker, Oihan stops you before doing so.

"SOLDIERS OF MICERIA. YOU HAVE BEEN CHOSEN TODAY TO EXPLORE A DARK AND HIDDEN CORNER FROM THIS PLANET. WE DON'T KNOW WHAT KIND OF DANGERS AND TREASURES WE WILL FIND BUT WE CAN BE SURE THAT GLORY OR DEATH, WHATEVER WE FIND WE WILL FIND IT FOR THE IMPERIUM!!"

They all stood firm with their chest inflated and a proud look in their eyes. The pilot gave us a thumbs up and opened the back doors to let access to the soldiers.

It wasn't the first time you saw a Valkyrie but you have never flied on one before. The engines burn heavily and make deep grinding noises as the small dust enters in the turbines only to be burned and destroyed in the process.

After the violent takeoff the travel became pretty quiet and calm, we were flying over the toxic smog and the only thing visible was the giant Tartarus Volcano.

The travel was a little bit shorter than in train but as dull. Nobody except the twins were talking since the rest of the group barely knew each other.

"Tell me Mista. How does that Sniper Rifle work Miss?" You awkwardly asked to break the ice.

"Psst! This aint easy to use mate. You grab, you aim and you kill." She answered shortly.

"Well that would technically apply to any weapon" Added Tovarin.

"W-what? No, my gun doesn't kill when aiming, but when explodin" Commented Tavish

Soon a friendly discussion about what weapon was best started and at the end even Oihan joined.

Before everybody could notice the pass of time the vehicle landed on the the highest roof of the Prison. Ages ago the building he landed was the main barrack of the guards and currently the only building with a landing pad who wasn't covered in the still burning corpse tent.

"You will have to descend all the way down to find whatever you are seeking Miss. I'll stay here guarding the Jet"

"Very well Hessun. Keep the Vox Caster close and inform us of anything strange and also send us a message every six hours."

"I will Commissar. I wish you all good luck."

With a small bow he parted from us.

The Barrack was totally desecrated. There were corpses turned into skeletons, the only thing they didn't dared to touch was the holy image of the emperor. As they descended they found a big lock, Oihan smashed it with her power fist to open the doors.

When exiting you saw graffiti made by the survivors or the own prisoners. The painting and messages said that the warden's office was cursed and doomed. That might be the reason of why it was in such a good condition compared with the rest of the Prison.

The once white bleached walls now became brown from all the dry blood spilled as the time went on. Corpses became more fresh and gory. Those people weren't only killed but they were made in the most violent way as possible. A entire hall was a messy web of entrails and limbs. You had to open the way due to being the only one with a chainsword.

On the base of the building there was a throne made of bodies and the bloody legend it carried.

>" Noctum is the name of the night, the time when the blood and the flesh taste better. "
>" You can be Noctum if you defeat the last Noctum. "
>" As Noctum everybody will obey and follow, thus it is the truth "
>" Yet everybody seeks to be Noctum, if you are killed your slayer becomes Noctum "
>" The new Noctum has to build a throne of the last Noctum and turn his skin into a cape "
>" Thus it is the truth "
>>
>>37681925
That legend explains alot about how Noctum acted thats for sure.

Should we burn the chaos throne? Its an affront to everything holy.

Also examine how fresh those bodies are. if they were made. If they were made after the battles end we're in HERESY country and need to be ready for it.

"Nobody look at those tainted messages and symbols!" Said Oihan strongly slapping everybody who dared to look with her naked bionic palm.

"JainDo! Destroy that offense. The only true throne is the Golden Throne of the God Emperor of Mankind."

"Miss, yes Miss!" He pointed his newly assigned meltagun towards the meat and bone construct and started destroying it entirely until it was nothing but a molter slag that fused with the floor when freezing.

"Medic Zwëltch! Look at these bodies and inspect how recently they died."

"Jawohl." He went to the closest body...or bodies. It was a just a red mass of gore.

Me and the rest of the team went to open a way from the collapsed then with their knifes and once again the aid of my chainsword.

The view we had in front of us was both horrible and confusing. The fallen tent covered the entire city in a smooth surface of variated colors and textures with some patches covered in hair. From time to time you could find a body who found itself trapped under the tent and died of suffocation, most of those unlucky persons were stabbed to death before that thought.

Exploring would be hard, due to the nature of the tent it was almost impossible to know where doors were and you couldn't use your X-Ray vision for long periods of time.

Well as notoriously huge cocks they are about cowardice its mainly in keeping their soldiers fighting against ungodly horrors or push towards an objective.

Telling them to run like buggery from a collapsing landmass sinking into a LAVA OCEAN is kind of validated. But you still don't expect to hear a Commissar ever say those words in your life time.

If the players end getting woohoo time with Oihan I will make her say "RETREAT!" instead of pull it out. It's a joke don't kill me

I want to ask something. Does anybody check the Music that I put in the first post? If the players don't check it I could just ignore it and avoid looking for it and start threads a little bit sooner.
