My name is Cecile, and I'm sixteen years old. I already thought my life was odd, what with my parents having moved halfway across the country for their new job and leaving me in the care of my older sister... but then my best friend went and had a book shipped to my house that ended up giving me superpowers.

After Charlotte said goodbye to me in a kind of, um... embarrassing way, I was left alone with Irene to finish breakfast and talk about stuff. She was nice enough to answer a bunch of questions that I had and also seems really nice, but I dunno. The organization that she's part of... I just don't trust them.

The earful I just got from Gabrielle when she called me suggests that she feels the same way.

Not wanting to piss Archibald off by barging into his room after having taken my call, I walk the few yards that separates my temporary room from his. After entering, I make sure the door is closed behind me... and then pretty much collapse on the bed.

I want to go home...

BZZT BZZT BZZT

"Huh?" I reach over to my phone and take a look at its screen... maybe it's Gabrielle calling me again?

Oh, it's a text. From Charlotte!? Anxious as all hell, I hit "display" as bast as my fingers will let me.

"I found her," the message reads. "Stay there, I'll be back soon."

She... she found her!? That Jessica bitch who tried to kill me and killed a bunch of other people and-

Calm down, Cecile. Now isn't the time to be freaking out. Even though this is TOTALLY the time to be freaking out. No, I have to be calm. And try and think about what to do...

"That's it!" I shout as I hold my phone in the air like that one kid with the green hat does with his hat in Mina's videogames. "I can just call her back!"

And so, I do just that.

"Hm?" Irene pokes her head out the doorway.
"Uh, hi," I wave at her.
"I was wondering where you went!" Irene says, taking my hand. "Come inside!"

I nearly fall over myself as I'm pulled into Archibald's room. Once I regain my footing and stand back upright, I find him glaring at me... not that I'm not used to that by now.

"Done with your chitchat?" Archibald asks.
"Yeah..." I mumble. "Sorry about that."

Wait a minute, this isn't the time for me to apologizing to this dick!

"A- actually," I stammer, "Charlotte just called and said that she found that JEssica chick."
What."

Archibald's eyes open as wide as they possibly can.

"How!?" he shouts. "Has she engaged her in combat already!? Is she chasing her down!?"
"I dunno," I shrug. "She just called to tell me that she found her and that she was on the way back here."
"Great," he shakes his head. "Just great."
"Archibald, it -is- great," Irene says, smacking him in the back so hard that his glasses nearly come off. "Cecile's girlfriend found her while there's still -daylight- out. That means that Cecile will be a lot of help if we end up fighting her directly."

When I close my eyes, images of me frying that Leo guy flash through my mind. It was by far the most horrible thing I've ever seen, and I still feel sick even thinking about it. But, well... I'd do it again in a heartbeat were I put in that situation again. He was trying to kill Charlotte, and that was the only way to make sure he couldn't...

...and this Jessica girl has already killed what, ten people since she came to this town? I don't know the exact number, but that seems right. Even if they were mafia-affiliated people, it was still outright murder. At least I had some justification in killing Leo, you know?

And now she wants to kill me... or rather, she did from the start. That was her entire purpose in coming here. and she's not going to stop until I'm dead. And more likely than not, everyone around me as well. She already tried to kill Mina, and she would have been successful if her armor thing wasn't practically invincible. And she stabbed Irene...

...and I'm sure she'd do the same to Charlotte if she got the chance to.

"Mmmm..."

Alerted by a sudden pressure on my lips, my eyes snap open and I'm met with an extreme closeup of Charlotte's face. Once she notices that I'm awake, she draws her head back...

"Ehehe..." Charlotte licks her lips. "Welcome back, sleepyhead."
"Hi, Charlotte," I say, blushing slightly upon coming to the realization that she's right on top of me. If she wanted to, I wouldn't be able to do anything to keep Charlotte from...

...AHEM.

Giggling to herself, Charlotte pushes herself off of me and back onto the floor, then pulls me upright on the bed.

"I'm glad to see that you didn't actually go after that woman," I say.
"Of course not," Charlotte sighs. "I said that I was coming back here to see you, and I did just that."
"Thanks for that," I reply with a weak smile. "But, um... where exaclty did you find her?" I ask.
"The sewers."

"So she stayed down there after she got away from us?" I ask.
"That's what I'm assuming, at least," Charlotte shrugs. "I took control of some rats and they're watching her every move as we speak... I think she's trying to wait until dark before she goes back on the prowl."

"Well that's why I'm going to flush her out before she can," Charlotte says, a proud glint in her eye. "I've made some preparations to make things safer for myself and now all I have to do is get those two idiots from the Tree to help out and then this'll all be over!"

I flash a weak smile back at her.

"Just you wait," Charlotte says, taking my hand. "We'll have this bitch taken care of by sundown and then we can get you back home to your sister."
"That'd be nice," I nod.
"And then I can sleep over at your place for a change and we can have an overnight 'victory celebration...'"

I don't know what's worse: that my girlfriend's offering me celebratory sex for when we kill someone or that I'm actually looking forward to it.

"So you stay right there," Charlotte pokes me on the nose, "and I'll be right back."

"Now let's go tell Irene and Archibald that you're back," I say as I push myself off the bed. "The sooner we get done with this, the sooner I can go back home."
"Alright," Charlotte nods. "Try not to run off this time, though... you nearly gave me a heartattack when you did that last night."
"Don't worry, I learned my lesson," I reply, scowling as I remember how badly I screwed up.

With that, we leave our room and head next door. Like a second after I knock, Irene pops her head back out and cheerfully greets us. I wave back unenthusiastically, but Charlotte just scowls.

An abo killing her and relatives kids isn't really something preventable, you really only need a knife for that as was shown pretty clearly.
The tighter gun restrictions do stop the kid of crazy gun massacres that we've seen in America though.

It's not really a feasible solution to America's problem though because they'd also have to tighten the Mexican border to make proper gun control worthwhile.

Um. Dog, guns are illegal in mexico. Most importation of illegal firearms goes the other way across the border. But it really doesn't stop enough of those 'crazy gun massacres' to be worth it. "So you found her?" Archibald asks the second that he sees us enter the room. "Where is she?"
"As well-mannered as ever, I see," Charlotte replies, glaring at him. "She's in the sewer and I can flush her out at any time."
"Great," he says, smirking.
"Cecile here insists on helping out," she pats me on the shoulder, "but I expect the two of you to take the brunt of the danger. I'm not willing to put -my- Cecile in any more danger than absolutely necessary," she says, tightly clutching my hand.

Great, now I'm blushing.

Bit of a random tidbit.

There is absolutely no constitutional defense for gun ownership as a means of vigilantism, its there for the ability to rebel.
>>
ded.
>>
>>37674643
Only around a 40th of gun homicides are caused by rifles. "Military grade weaponry" is just anything that looks scary to people. Just because the gun is black, or has a guardrail, people think it is a super high tech mass murdering machine. Ergonomic=/=Baby killer. Fully automatic weapons have been banned in America since the 70s, assault weapons isn't a real definition.

>>37674659
It's vague about it. A militias aren't always for rebelling. Also the sentence is phrased in a way that would imply it also supports personal ownership.Widely debated subject.

>A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

"So, um..." I look around, "...do we have a plan of how to go about this?" I ask.
"Don't look at us," Archibald replies. "Your girlfriend's the one with all the actual information on where Jessica even is."

He does have a point.

"Charlotte?" I turn to her.

After glaring at Archibald yet again, Charlotte brings out her phone and pokes around with it for a little while.

"This is where we are," Charlotte says, holding up her phone so that the rest of us can see the map that it's displaying. "And over here..." she scrolls down a few screen lengths, "...is where that Jessica woman is hiding out. From there, the closest outlet is the river here..." she points to a nearby point on the map, "so my plan is to force her out into the open by herding her to this point."

Something like this counts as a military grade weapon, I would say muzzle velocity, effective range and magazine size tend to make something military grade (or like a LMG).
>>
>>37674751
Checking out some more of his work now, I can see what you mean.
>>
>>37674761
LMG stands for Light Machine Gun. A machine gun is a weapon that fires multiple rounds with a single pull of the trigger. These are illegal in America.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Winchester_Model_70
This weapon uses the same round, and has a far farther effective range. It is one of the most popular sport and hunting rifles ever made. Is it a military weapon too?
Magazine size is ALREADY restricted in the US. You cannot get magazines above certain capacities, depending on what state you are in. Not that it really matters. When you use magazines with above 15 rounds or so, you are FAAAAAARR more prone to jamming and weapon malfunctions.

Archibald's eye twitches when she calls him that. I swear, it's like she's taking every opportunity to antagonize them as much as she can.

"Where you -will- be needed is when we get her out into the open," Charlotte says. "Milkgirl and I can take the lead while you you back us up with your triangles..."

Not really. It is far harder to protect your home with a bolt action rifle than with a handgun. It also makes sport shooting virtually impossible. And you can't hunt many things you normally would, like boar. Because without a handgun in addition to a rifle, you stand a good chance of getting gored. Plus you can't conceal carry or open carry a rifle all the time. I mean you COULD and people do, but it's weird and frowned upon. Ergo less muggings and rapes being stopped.

Fairly sure if someone pulls a gun on you that you wont be able to freeze time, process what is happening, draw aim and fire your weapon fast enough to not just get shot.

TLDR having a weapon is a pretty good way to turn a mugging or rape into a murder.
>>
>>37674851
>They are mostly illegal.
Unless they were registered before the 50s or 60s. In which case they are antiques. No one mugs someone with a Thompson, because the gun itself is worth several thousand dollars.
>Do militaries use it? If yes its a military grade weapon, if no then it isn't.
The Winchester 70 saw use in Vietnam. Is it military? What makes that more dangerous than say the Winchester 54, which didn't? They are both bolt action rifles with similar ranges and round capabilities.
>I wasn't aware that we had border guards on state lines.
That means the person is committing a crime. If they are willing to commit a crime, then what use does putting more laws in place have? They will just ignore those too.

>>
>>37674856
You can still use revolvers man.

They can't steal a gun from a law abiding gun owner to use in a crime if there are no legal guns.

I almost wish she -would- hole herself up in there with ice, what Charlotte said would make things a hell of a lot safer for me.

There are already more guns in America than people. There is no way in hell any kind of gun confiscation would actually work here. So banning the purchase of guns really wouldn't effect gun thievery outside of the amount of legal guns here going stagnant.
>>37674921
You can't use double action revolvers. The key to having a handgun when boar hunting is that if you are charged, you don't have to have an unwieldy rifle that will take longer to sight. Adding the second or two of re-priming the action on the revolver could mean the difference between injury.
>>37674909
So we should make it illegal to have sex with prostitutes without condoms. I mean, that will totally make someone who is willing to buy a prostitute follow the law right? Just because they don't respect one aspect doesn't mean they can't respect others. They are only partly criminals. And really, if someone was going to commit a murder, they aren't going to respect the law. Adding additional charges onto the potential crime is silly. The only ones who it would really effect are the non dangerous citizens.

Shotguns with slugs are actually pretty commonly used for hunting boar. But having the safety net of a handgun makes it, well, safer. When dealing with wild and killer animals, it never hurts to have a reliable back up. The faster and more effective the backup, the better.

We're way off topic anyway, the point I was making is that by introducing stricter laws for gun ownership and banning auto/semi-auto weaponry you cut down on gun suicides and suicides overall as well as gun massacres. You only really get a small drop in overall crime but you get far less gun crime and overall less deaths.

What is the most assuming example of engrish in an anime you have seen?

Would it be less tiring for CC to use a magnifying glass effect than firing lazors? Under direct sunlight, we would be able to use that method to burn the icicle girl.

What is your AOTS now that the 3 episode rule has taken effect?

I had a question about the elements present in powers in the setting.

We've seen ice, light, sound, darkness, fire, air, but I haven't seen anything regarding lightning.

Which, I guess I could understand because that wouldn't fit the whole tree thing. But is there a lightning branch? If so, how much lightning are we talking about? Just like a tiny stun gun or full-on lightning god?

Seeing CC can go full Amaterasu on someone's ass, I wouldn't be surprsised if there was a Susano-o somewhere out there.

No, just stubbornness.

>Which False Dendrite is the falsest?
It is a mystery.

>>37675092
>How does Mine's weapon work?
Magic and suffering.

>What is the most assuming example of engrish in an anime you have seen?
Two that have stuck with me after all this time are an instance at the beginning of the Sakura Taisen movie and a bit in one of the early episodes of Nadesico.

Depends on the area, but it is possible.

I have yet to watch anything from this season.

There haven't been any darkness users.

Yes there is a lightning Branch, and it would have the same scaling of power as Cecile's own light.

And now it is time for me to sleep. Thanks for playing!
