---

The hive spire grows larger for every tenth step in its general direction. The four surviving clone troopers march quietly behind you, weapons at the ready under your orders. An ambush from geonosians could come at any second. They know this barren wasteland of sand and stones better than you clones. You throw a glance backwards from time to time, hoping to see Mute come jogging after them with his rifle at the ready. Alas, it hasn't happened yet and you've been walking for 10 minutes. The battle in the distance is still raging on. With the speed you're all walking in, you figure that you'll arrive to the spire in another 10 minutes or so. Still, it's odd that you haven't faced any resistance so far; You're closing in on the spire, but no enemy forces seems to be guarding this flank. Odd.

"Sir!", one of the clone troopers calls out to you, "Five-Two needs some rest." - the clone motions towards the trooper sitting on one of the rocks in the hard sand. He is a fellow brother, but you really don't have time for this. For every second you're away from the battlefield, your other squad members are two men (or one man if Mute has linked up with them) down. Unacceptable.

>Leave him. You need to link up with the rest of your Squad and complete your mission before Sanc Qun escapes.
>Wait a minute or two for Five-Two to regain his strength. Respect and discipline. One does not come before the other.

If hes already been run ragged that means the other clones can't be far off. I sincerely doubt we managed to end up with the least fit clone in the army.

Also several of these clones already question our judgement after we THREW them off of a gunship

"R&R 2 minutes.", you order and before you can turn your back to them, the other three troopers take a seat as well, either on a nearby rock or right down in the hard sand. Thanks to your commando training, you're not tired at all, but this heat is killing you and it's probably killing them as well right now. You can hear explosions in the distance. The battle started approximately 10 minutes ago. A lot of things can happen in that time period during a battle. Since you can't get in contact with the Advisor or any of your squad mates, you're probably considered MIA and your squad has proceeded with the objective on their own. Two Commandos versus an entire spire filled with droids and geonosians? You don't doubt Ones and Jokers combat abilities, but even for a Commando, that's one helluva challange. You can only hope to rendezvous with them before they enter the spire or that Mute has already done so himself.

"Alright, we're ready to move on, Sir.", Five-Two reports as all four of the clone troopers rise up. However, before you can give another order, you hear a screeching sound from above and a crash a second later coming a couple of clicks away from you. Another gunship was just shot down nearby! Black smoke rises from the crashsite. There is no time for pause for there might still be survivors or wounded aboard that burning ship. You take off in a sprint, followed by your troopers. You arrive to the site only a minute or so after it has crashed.

From the burning ship you can hear moans of pain and outside of the ship there are several dead clones strewn about. A couple of meters away from the cockpit you can see where the burning pilot had crawled with no legs before he died. It's a horrible scene. However, before you can issue any orders, you also notice a figure running away from the crash site in the distance. It's heading towards the spire at an incredible speed. What is that?

but it was said it was running, you can't run when your method of speedy transit is rolling.
>>
>>37613218
Run away is a phrasal verb that means escaping, you can run away in a car.
>>
Your gaze shifts from the crash site towards the running figure and then back to the flames again. "Men, how many bacta injectors do you have?", you ask, turning to your unwounded soldiers. After tapping lightly on the side of their belts to quickly count each bacta injector attached to it, they report back to you; 8 all in all. You pull off two of your own bacta injectors and hand them to your soldiers, "Make them count." and they respond with a unified nod of respect. With that taken care of, you take off in a sprint after the running figure in the distance. You estimate that you will not catch up to whomever or whatever he, she or it is, but if you keep this pace, you'll stay on their heel. You'll be damned before you lose the sight of the figure. Despite the sun's attempts to blind you, you notice that the figure is wearing a light brown tunic. Strange.

Before you know it, you've reached the outlying areas of the Spire after chasing the running figure. You lost it when it leapt up from the ground onto a nearby platform jutting out from a structure ahead of you. After catching your breath for a couple of seconds you finally hear a familiar voice in your comm.

"RC-01/145, do you copy? Chief, are you there?" - It's the Advisor hailing you. With a sigh of relief, you press your chin down on the trigger inside your helmet, opening the comm on your end, "This is RC-01/145, reporting for duty. I copy you loud and clear, Advisor. What is the current location of Sierra squad?"

There's a short pause on his end before he responds: "Ones is currently applying explosives for a radical restructuring of the gates to the Hive Spire while Joker is assassting Echo squad with cover fire."

With the location of both Joker and Ones tagged on your HUD, you take off towards the formers location. "Heard anything from Mute, Advisor?", you ask while jogging through the now empty trenches in-between geonosian buildings and walls where both destroyed droids and dead clones fills every little corner. There's a longer pause this time as the Advisor is probably trying to hail Mute.

"He's been tagged MIA until further notice, Chief. I'm sure he's fine. However, for now your immediate objective is to link up with your squad mates. Your main objective remains; Eliminate Sanc Qun and retrieve CIS data from the hive spire. I'll be issuing further orders from Command as you go along. Good luck, Commander."

It doesn't take long for you to reach Joker. He has seated himself underneath a bridge, behind some rumble and are firing blaster rounds at the some battle droids hiding on the other side of the bridge. They are readily returning fire as well. You place yourself next to him and start firing back at the battle droids you too. Joker eyes you for a second before recognizing you.

"Ah! Chief! I thought you were a goner.", he laughs out loud before he too fires a couple of rounds at the droids, hitting one in the chest. "24 clankers dead and counting. It's a shame though," Joker starts, looking over at you, to which you give him a questioning stare, "I prepared a nice speech for your memorial and all!", he laughs again before he throws a thermal detonator up on the actual bridge, "Let's move, Sir!", he shouts before the bridge explodes and comes crashing down in front of you, seperating you from the droids. A nice move.

"Where's Mute, sir?", Joker asks once you've moved further away from the destroyed bridge, heading towards the hive spire where Ones is with his "toys".

"He's MIA for now.", you report, to which Joker falls quiet while jogging next to you, "Stay frosty, Joker. Focus on the Mission.", and with that order, Jokee perks up. You pass several sites where some firefights had broken out between droids and clones alike. You haven't seen a dead geonosian yet. Upon reaching a tunnel leading through a building, you hear the sound of rifles being reloaded behind of you and ahead of you there's an energy shield blocking your way.

"Get that shield down, Three-Nine.", you order Joker before you take up a defensive spot at the edge of the cave's entrance. Outside you can see a squad of 4 battle droids lead by a super battle droid. They are marching through the trenches, checking the bodies for surviving clones to execute. Upon finding one close to the cave, the SBD systematically points its wrist-mounted blaster at the still breathing clone and fires off two blaster shots. Another one of your brothers dead. Looking back, Joker has found a terminal close to the energy shield and is working his fingers at it.

What do you do?

You keep a watchful eye on the droid squad moving about the trenches, edging ever closer to the tunnel. After a few seconds Joker hails you over the comm, "Done, Sir.", and when you turn around, the energy shield blocking your path is gone. You nod in approval to Joker and he gives you a thumbs-up before the two of you move onwards, avoiding detection completely. The trenches continues to twist and turn and the body count of both droids and clones are stacking up the closer you get towards the hive spire. While you can hear blaster fire in the distance, it isn't coming from the spire.

"Ones is just up ahead, Four-Five.", Advisor reports what your HUD is already showing, and then there's a large explosion from the general direction where Ones is. It shakes the ground for a couple of seconds and then you hear heavy blaster fire coming from the entrance to the spire up ahead. Both of you start sprinting and after jumping past a couple of destroyed droids, you pass a corner and enter the courtyard before the Hive spire's now destroyed gates. Ones is piled up behind a destroyed DSD1 Dwarf Spider Droid, taking potshots at the geonosian forces that has set up a small makeshift barricade behind the blasted pieces of the former gate. Both of you run over to Ones, calling for supressive fire from the demolitions expert while you rush across the field. He complies and fires a round from his grenade launcher towards the barricade.

"Glad you two could finally join me.", He spits out sarcasticly while firing off another grenade towards the barricade, trying to blow them all up. "Ones, Mute is--", Joker starts, but Ones holds up his hand to stop him from going any further, "Does it looks like I care right now? We're under fire, Three-Nine!"

"Lock it down, both of you.", you order them and they immediately shut up.

Your in the middle of a courtyard, no cover but this wrecked spider droid and you're almost constantly under fire from the spire's direction.

A blaster shot hits the corner of the spider droid, awefully close to where you're sitting. You eye the barricade through one of the holes between the fallen spider droid's legs and a plan is starting to take form; "Ones, throw a thermal towards the barricade. Joker, equip your sniper attachment and pick off anyone who tries to dodge the blast radius. I will do the same. On my mark!", and the two Commandos nod at their commander. While Ones pulls out a thermal detonator and Joker takes aim with his rifle-turned-sniper, you pull out the small and long barrel that you attach onto your rifle along with a small black device that you lock onto the top of your weapon. After clicking on a small button on the side of it, a small blue holo-telescopic sight forms itself above the black device. Your rifle has turned into a sniper rifle.

"Mark.", you call out and Ones throws the thermal detonator towards the makeshift barricade. Through the lens you watch as several bugs either try to fly away from it or run away from it. You line up the head of one of the bugs who took flight and squeeze the trigger. Its head explodes into a yellow mist. To your left you hear a similar shot coming from Joker. "Mark.", you say again and Ones throws yet another thermal detonator into the crowded barricade. In the confusion of the incoming sniper fire and the first thermal explosion, no one notices the last thermal grenade and when it explodes, the remaining bugs are vaporized by the fire. Rising up from the cover, you take one last look at the barricade through your sight before deciding that you've won this firefight.

While Joker takes off his lens and Ones rise up to collect himself, you start to walk towards the barricade. Suddenly the figure that you chased from before lands a couple of meters in front of you. It's still wearing its light brown tunic and you also notice a metal stick hanging onto her belt. From the looks of it, it's a young female human. She looks over at you with a smile.

"Identify yourself.", you call out while you keep your rifle close to your chest, ready to fire if need be, but you don't aim it at her. Turning this into a hostile situation from the very start would be a poor decision. By now Joker and Ones have caught up with you and are standing in the background. Her eyes dart between the three of you, silently determining what to say next. Her smile fades and she turns more serious.

"I am Jedi padawan Yna Ti. Padawan to Master Zen Malcov.", she introduces herself. While you hear Ones asking Advisor about confirmation to your right, Joker takes a few steps forward till he stands next to you, "Command told us there wouldn't be any Jedi generals or commanders in this sector.", his voice is uneasy from his regular cheerful tone. He obviously doesn't trust this so-called Jedi. You've been trained to follow Jedi orders, but until you have confirmation, she's a potential threat with a lightsaber at her disposal. Whether she could use it or not, is not something you'd like to find out.

You look over at Ones. "He's checking with command", Ones reports over the comm. Your attention shifts back to the girl in front of you.

"Should we ask her to disarm herself?", Joker intervenes through the comm as to not reveal whatever you are planning. "No, we wait for confirmation from Command." - The silence is like a thick aroma enveloping you all as both sides stand at attention, ready for anything. After a few seconds, you hear Advisor through your comm, "We have a confirmation from Command, Sierra; Yna Ti is who she says she are. She has been assigned the role of Jedi Commander under her masters supervision. She was considered MIA till now. However, you don't have time to stick around for a chat, your main objective is still a pressing matter. Get to it, Four-Five."

You signal your Sierra squad mates to move out, "Identity confirmed. We apologize, Commander Ti.", you report to her before you and your Commandos move past her, marching towards the Hive Spire. She, however, runs up and places herself in front of you.

"I need you to get me back to command. I need to meet up with my master.", she commands you.

"Your call, chief.", Joker puts through while Ones is a little bit more impatient, "We don't have time for brats. Commander or not, we have a mission, Sir."

"I apologize, Commander, but our mission is priority one. I cannot stress this any further. We cannot help you directly. I did, however, leave a four-man team back at the crashed gunship. If you make your way back to it, one of them will--", you start to explain yourself and the situation, but she continues to press for it.

"No, I can't go back there."

"I can send Joker here to escort you to the gunship, but any further than that is impossible.", and she falls silent to this. Whether she is contemplating it or trying to figure out another way to convince you, you're not sure. Then she turns about and starts to walk towards the Hive Spire. You start to follow her, your squad right behind you. "Commander Ti?", you call out to her.

"I can't go back there.", she explains, more coldly this time, "I will accompany you in your mission, Clone. After that, you'll take me to Command, yes?" - You're bewildered of her way of thinking. She doesn't want to go back to the crash site where there are troopers that can help her, but she is more than happily ready to throw herself into someone elses mission. However, with the crashed gunship, walking through the geonosian wasteland, rounding up what remains of your squad, and securing the entrance to the spire, you've waste far too much time already.

"Affirmative, Commander Ti. You will temporarily join Sierra Squad and place yourself under my command.", you explain to her. She is a Jedi, but this is still your squad and you weren't trained to work with a Jedi in a mission such as this one. She doesn't seem to have a problem being under your command. She quickly finds her spot next to Joker. He gives her a small earpiece that she plugs into her ear. "A comm.", he explains and she gives him a smile and a nod. The four of you carefully make your way into the Hive Spire. "Advisor, do you copy?", you call out to 1133 and he responds with an "Yes, sir."

An image of the Hive Spire as seen from the outside pops up on your HUD, pointing out several vantage points for climbing. The plan might not be solid, but it will work if both parties move quickly. "Joker, I'm sending you to scale the wall on the outside while we work our way up. We will serve as a distraction so no one notices you as we ascend each level together. Are you up for it?", you explain the plan to both Joker and the rest of your current squad. Joker nods slowly at you, "Affermative, Chief, but do me a favor?"

"What?"

"If I die, write 'poor climber' on my grave stone.", he chuckles before he salutes you jokingly and jogs out from the building through the broken gates behind you. The three of you watch as he disappears around the corner once he's outside. Yna sighs loudly, "At least he's not afraid." to which Ones grunts, "Not afraid? Joker spouts stupid jokes and laughs when he IS afraid, ma'am."

"Move out, Sierra.", you order them, cutting this conversation short. You were still on a tight time schedule and you had to get attention to yourself before Joker could start his climb. At the first door you come upon, you order Ones to commence demolitions maneuver; Setting an explosive charge on the door, detonating it, throwing in a grenade and then move in. The basic thing you learned from the simulations. The maneuver is a success as it kills off four geonosians that was waiting to ambush anyone trying to get through the locked door.

"These are different than the ones down by the barricade," Ones points out, kicking on the corpse of one of the bugs, "Warriors?"

"Yes.", you look about; You see a pillar in the middle of the room, a small console at the edge of the room, away from the second door leading out from this and probably into an adjacent chamber.

"Set charges on that pillar while I check the console, Ones.", and the commando gets to work at once. Yna, on the other hand, looks around the room for anything useful that you might have missed. The console is unlocked and as you look through the files, a name that appears in several files catches your attention. "Tesla.", you mutter out loud. Ones ignores you and Yna didn't hear you. Most of the files are obsolete to your mission and any cause the Republic might have, so you don't download anything.

"Charges are set, Chief.", Ones reports and Yna joins the two of you. "Do you think this will work?"

"I'm not an architect, Ma'am.", Ones mutters, throwing you the detonator, "Let's get out of here in case it does work though."

The three of you move through the next door that appears to be unlocked and leads into a corridor. The door closes behind you and you click the detonator. You hear an explosion and then a large crash behind the door. Looks like it worked. The corridor your in starts to flash red, a sure sign that you triggered an alarm that they hadn't activated yet.

"Start the climb, Joker.", you order your man on the outside and he responds with a short "Aye, sir." - You continue to use this tactic as the squad moves around the first and second level, killing off any battle droids and geonosian warriors that gets in your way. Yna proves to be very good with her lightsaber, but she doesn't often use her force powers for reasons unknown to you. Nevertheless, with a Jedi at your side, things are going more smoothly than you could have hoped for.

After taking an elevator leading to the third floor, you hear a full-blown struggle happening on the other side of the door in front of you. You decide against using grenades this one time while Ones sets his breach charge on the door. "Clear!", you call out before pressing the trigger on the detonator, blowing up the lock on the door. It flies open, revealing the struggle that you just heard.

All around the large oval room there are destroyed battle droids and geonosian corpses all scattered about like ragged dolls. In front of you a man in white is beating his wrist-mounted vibro knife into the skull of a geonosian elite. He seems fanatic in his quest to break the dead geonosians skull with his knife and fist alone. You take a step forward to get a better look at him and he hears you. He leaps up, pulls out a DC-17 hand blaster and points it at you. However, instead of squeezing the trigger, he puts the blaster pack in its holster. His left eye gone and instead there's a gaping wound from a knife or a spear. Blood is still running down the left side of his face from the wound and he looks ragged and completely exhausted.

But even so he stands up straight at the sight of you, slams his boots together and salutes you, "RC-01/160 Reporting for Duty, Sir!", he shouts out, trying to keep his demeanor composed.
