>Summary:
You are Heracor Nahive, techpriest working as an escort for the mighty Commissar Oihan Alzador and currently in the Death World of Plinia Vesus to mitigate the riots and disturbs that the thousands of prisoners destined there are creating.

A Eldar infiltrate has told you that there is a greater daemon imprisoned somewhere on the planet and that behind the riots there are cultist trying to liberate him, besides her you are the only one who knows this…

>Leave her alive, she can be still useful.
"No!" You yell to Fire. "We have to keep her, she the only source of information that we have so far."

You were honestly tired of all the speculation that the Imperial data was giving, no number was exact and there were may too many variables. It was turning you mad.

Fire wasn't at your command but he seemed to understand that your viewpoint while less merciful than his was in reality the correct one. He went back and started grinding seeds and grabbing pills to create a chemical painkiller cocktail that might make her survive and maybe even improve her already critical condition.

With your help he managed to use correctly the machines and liquefy the mix into a shiny cyan transparent serum. When injected on her body the glowing liquid started becoming visible under her veins, slowly the liquid impulsed itself all across Lanky's body with the help of her weak pulsations. Then she slightly groaned and fell asleep. Fire and you stripped her of your robe and clothed her with a simple patient gown, then she with the help of other medicae assistants was carried to a empty bed and put two guards to overlook her.

The two leaders didn't returned from their briefing so you questioned Fire about how their mission went.

"Good! There were parts were the air was angry, it made your eyes water and your skin itch. Your counter was really helpful in those parts as they told us which way was safe"

"How is MegaPrison 04?

"It is built in the deepest part of a crater. The crater is totally filled with the invisible radio spirits and its so deep that the convicts barely get any sunlight unless the fireball is directly above them. The place looks like a castle made of scrap metal, some parts are rusty and weird plants grow on them, I couldn't identify any of those plants"
>>
"How many convicts are in there?"

"About 4000, they have weird bodies and apparently it is because of their sins and the radio spirits wrath. They have a leader called Meuxaclt'tan or something similar. We didn't managed to see him or her.

"His there any chance of them trying to attack the bases?"

"According to Nicholo that's really unlikely. The crater walls are inclined enough to be impossible to climb without special equipment, the train descends in a spiraling way to the center because of this. If the prisoners initiated a attack we would destroy the train rails on only cutting their only way of going up but also sending a rock and debris avalanche towards their prison from all directions"

You didn't liked the idea of destroying those railways as they seemed to you to be a marvelous piece of engineering but honestly their plan of isolation was good...unless that prison had also access to the Crystalline Underdark, whatever that was.

"Have you heard about a place called the Underdark, Crystalline Underdark being more concrete."

"I have not. Is it a good place?"

You shook your head and then patted softly his back, shortly after the two Commissars came back.

>Free action. Write what you guys think they should do next.
>>
>>37610402
I'm afraid I'm kinda sleepy and about to head to bed, so bear this in mind when considering the following suggestion but:

As far as I recall in MegaPrison 03 which we're currently at (I think?) they had a great big human leather tent they were using to protect themselves from the unbreathable gasses the roll around this planet?
So I reckon we should go light this tent up, or perforate it or some such. Remove the prisoners' shelter from the elements and bask in the genocide>

Obviously in that situation they'll probably attempt to storm the IG position in an attempt to nick their breathing masks or failing that go out with a bang so setting up some form of defensive structure first would be sensible. Perhaps a choke point and a killzone to even the odds of a few thousand guardsmen versus a god knows how many prisoners.
>>
>>37610654
I know this time is horrible to create a quest but I'm Europe and due to time zone shenanigans I cannot do it at other times.

They are now in the Outpost Delta. The tent was both to protect themselves from the gas and the sunlight. The idea is not so bad. I might think about it.

Since there hasn't been any answer in more than half a hour maybe I will just close the thread and make a new one another time at a better time.
>>
>>37610402
Set up a team to blow the rails if they try anything at prison 4

For MP3 try create a long range incendiary device to blow the tent, get the commissars' to set up a kill zone for when they charge out of the base.

In the interim try and see if you can keep the girl alive.
>>
>>37610680
It's not a particularly bad time for me since it's 2pm in Britbongland. The problem in my case is my ridiculous sleep patterns.

Anyway, to confirm then: do we have all of our forces in MP4 or are they split between MP3 and 4?

Regarding the weird plants around MP4: perhaps we could take a sample and investigate them for SCIENCE, perhaps unveiling details about the nature of the mutations they're experiencing down there.

Another thought: if it's super dark in that crater and they've all mutated rapidly then chances they've adapted for low light conditions. Getting some floodlights set up will not only give us good visibility but will also hinder our foes and thus provide a massive advantage in keeping them from sneaking up on us or rushing us in the dark.

Are we trying to preserve the scrap metal castle or would it be prudent to simply fire some explosives into it to initiate the slaughter? Routing them from their home turf would be handy in the conflict.
>>
>>37610681
Working on this.

>>37610742
All the forces are now in the Delta outpost. They are about 1000 soldiers.
300 were taken with Oihan to MP3 and another 300 with Nicholo to MP4 but they have all returned since it was just a scouting mission.

Preserving the Castle would be preferable since this is just a genocidal cleansing of some sort. The prisoners are just rioting so the guard is sent to "calm" things on their own way. If they just destroy everything they would need to rebuilt it afterwards.

Have a pic of the planet to know a lil bit better where everything is located.
>>
>>37610779
Way I figure it we cleanse 3 while we keep 4 on a lock down. We're going to need rad suits or something to negate the radiation if we want our troops to make it into mp4. 3is easier to get into and out of. $ can simmer until we're ready. Also this way we space out the blood shed so the big bad super butcher thing can't get fed as easily.

Right, I wasn't sure how far the castle was a structure that the prisoners had constructed themselves and was thus unnecessary to keep intact.

>>37610812
Sounds good though I believe any bloodshed contributes to demon buffing, irrespective of who fights who. Arguably taking out the weirder folks first has a higher chance of nipping the cultists in the bud.

By the way QM, what sort of armaments do we have kicking around? Gas grenades would be pretty handy in smoking out the people in MP4 since we're trying to keep it standing.
>>
Anyway, I really am going to head to bed now so hopefully some more people turn up to play this soon. Failing that... don't lead us astray, other Anon!
>>
>>37610836
I'm figuring we'll get less casualties by hitting them one at a time. Mutant's don't mean cultists as a matter of course. Cultists are likely in mp3 anyways.
>>
>>37610836
Each outpost has:

~900 guardsmen. Each one has a Lasgun, 3 power packs, a frag and krak grenade, a small lantern, food for a week and small basic medic stuff like pain pills and bandages.

~100 specialized guardsmen. Those include snipers, drivers, demolition specialists and field medics.

-4 Omega Drills. They can drive underground and reach any place that isn't isolated. Each one can carry 20 people.

-20 Chimeras

-15 Leman Russes.

-5 basilisks.

And the HQ has a the double of those numbers plus a Baneblade and a few Skitarii.
>>
>>37610908
Well then. the basilisks have incendiary shells?
Pop a few at the tent and it's gone. Have the rest zoned for the charge.
>>
>>37610681
"How much time would it take the explosive signal to travel from there to ZeroFour?" You ask to the gas mask wearing Commissar.

"Well, the prison is about five hours in train. If the weather is not affecting the quality of the air and all the repeaters are in working condition it might take only ten minutes."

"Is there any chance of surviving the avalanche?"

"Unlikely. The release of the rocky walls and the rails would totally bury them under tons of rocks and metal"

"I'm still worried about those mutants prisoners and their leader. We don't know what they can do. They might have a way of surviving and escaping. Sending a small response team would be a good idea."

"Mutants are unpredictable. I support this. " Said Oihan "Five demolition specialists might be enough. They can make a small camp and do turns to watch their movements. In case anything goes wrong they are free to act and send the Emperor's wrath upon those scum who stain the human race."

"About the MegaPrison 03. The prisoner said that all the armaments they have is knifes and guns. Maybe we could just send a couple of Basilisks at night and attack at dawn, we load incendiary shells and burn that heretical human skin tent. If all goes right they will still be asleep and the morning sun will burn most of them" You add.

"We cannot trust her, we should carry her on that mission and execute her on the spot if anything goes wrong." Comments Nicholo.

"Two Basiliks won't be enough either send all of them. My proposition is sending 800 guardsmen and all the Leman Russes we have at our disposal. They have insulted the Imperium and the Emperor. We gave them a chance of redeeming themselves and they just continue being as criminal as always" Oihan's voice roughed like a beast. "Leave no survivors!"

> Try to contact with Elyadien and ask her how is the situation on other parts of the planet.
There are still some hours of preparation until the attack. You walk to a terminal and send a message to Urmo.

>+ Urmo, are you there? +<

>+ Indeed I am fellow techpriest. Is there any way I can help you? +<

She was totally posing as an Techpriest again. Surely those messages were being registered in the search of traitorous or heretical thoughts.

>+ I would like a report of your situation on the HQ +<

>+ Things here are safe. We keep an eye on the other Outposts and Prisons. Air Batteries are guarding the Spaceport and vigilant against any chance of enemy ships. +<

>+ Can I know the situation of the other Prisons? +<

>+ Barely a day has passed since we landed. There are no informs so far. Ask again later. +<

With the network spying there was no chance of asking her about the daemons and cults. I would need to ask later and find other means. It was nice to know that at least she was still on the planet.

> Join them on the attack
You helped the pilots to move the tanks to the Train and load them on the wagons. The hard work of those men and your coordination made the work end just in time. All the assigned guardsmen joined on board and readied themselves for the four hour long travel to the prison. Luckily for them this time it would be at night so they could sleep and the temperature wouldn't be as hellish as before.

You joined them on the sleep next and handcuffed to your wrist to Lanky. Oihan said that he wanted you to execute her in case anything goes wrong. You didn't knew why but you couldn't say no.

Three hours before the sunrise the train reached its destination. All the tanks were unloaded and the Basiliks where locked to the ground while your brain and the gunners worked together to calculate the distance and inclination that the Earthshaker cannon would need.
>>
>>37611322
Once the Basilisk were ready the Leman Russes advanced to the front and waited just a kilometer away from the entrance. All their lights were off and only the smoke coming from their exhausts was totally camouflaged by the other smoking chimes that were around.

There were in total:
> 5 basilisk already ready and loaded with incendiary shells.
>15 leman russes awaiting orders.
> 10 chimeras
> 2 omega Drills
> 600 guardsmen
> 30 medics
> 5 snipers
>10 demolition specialists

"We should wait until the sun rises and then destroy the tent Miss. The combined heat of the fire and the sun will disorientate and kill most of them."

"Good thinking soldier." She said with a soft pat on your back.

The guardsmen were working hard waiting in formation and checking their equipment over and over from fear and respect to their Techpriest command leader. Some of them grabbed the semiliquid tar like soil and painted their eyes and cheeks black, it would serve them well to block the intense sunlight.

From your viewpoint you could see the prison only two kilometers away from you. The orange lava sea glowed softly barely illuminating the area and then it appeared. Over the lava sea a massive white sun raised illuminating the night and signaling a new day. The sun would reveal our position but that mattered not. Oihan turned around and sent her speech to the soldiers.

"Men and Women of Miceria! We are far away but this world is not so different. All of you have been chosen because we needed men and women who are able to stand this temperatures. Be proud of your homeworld since it was it's hot surface the one that made you be here and do the Emperor's work today!"

She raised her power fist and it crackled with intense energy, a small whirl of ash and glint covered air forming behind her. Oihan's dark brown eyes looked intense and fierce, she didn't looked at her men but at them as a whole unit.

"FOR MICERIA! FOR PLINIA! FOR THE EMPEROR!"

She made a thumbs down signal with the massive fingers of her power weapon and the Basilisks roared hard. After the explosion the shells whistled as they were launched before finally reaching the tent.

The hard shells pierced it and fell directly to the ground. They shook the entire city like prison and covered it with fire. The intended effect of burning down the tent didn't worked, it barely started burning but the good thing was that they started stopping the smoke from going out.
>>
>>37611871
"Do something to destroy that tent now!"

You rushed to the Basilisks while they reloaded to increase their angle and see if they could be detonated in mid air to create the biggest damage as possible.

From the city the roaring of thousands of madmen was visible. Some started exiting the city already armed with crude respirators and swords.

You use your special lenses and look at the main pole that holds the entire tent. Your cogitator indicates its coordinates and then you quickly move the cannons towards it. The three shoot at the same time shaking the ground. The shells fly and you look at them nervously. Once again they pierce the tent but this time their incendiary charge destroys the pole it was anchored to.

The great leathery cover started falling, at least one third of the inhabitants died from the fire, suffocation by the tent or the smoke and the rage of the madmen that were around.

Sadly since most of them had knifes they managed to open an exit but the moment they got out they felt the burning morning sun on their naked and enraged bodies. Their eyes became red and foam started exiting from their mouths, but none of the soldiers was able to notice this from the distance.

About 40k crazed men started rushing out almost naked and wearing knifes, poles and everything they managed to get as a weapon.

"FIRE!" You saw Oihan screaming.

A second salvo of incendiary shells rained over them. Since most of them were already on the streets and uncovered the effect of the explosives was maximum. Fire and bodies covered the city but the survivors were still overwhelming compared with the number of soldiers.

>Go with Oihan and fight on the front line.

You give the Basilisk shooters your personal radio wave and establish a two way communication channel with them. The soldiers assigned to the vehicle proudly say that they will be alert and reactive to your orders.

Striding with your bionic legs you return to Oihan as fast as you can and enter with her on a chimera along with the best soldiers.

The dark brown vehicle shines with the morning sun, the golden aquila and other imperial symbols becoming beacons of light on all the tanks that will soon destroy those dark souls.

The female Commissar opens the superior hatch and grabs the twin linked heavy bolters that are on top.

"GO FASTER PILOT! I CANNOT WAIT TO SEE ALL THOSE CONVICTS LYING DEAD!"

From the city a tide of red skinned men exited, there were thousands and thousands of them. You looked from a small rectangular window and a warning message appeared in your HUD advising you of not using the auto-aim now due to the massive number of objectives.

The Leman Russ tanks were the first one entering action. A scream of joy was heard on the radio as they started driving over and mowing down the convicts. Their objectives seemed almost suicidal, they just ran to the nearest tank and tried to cut it with their weapons.

Their swords and knives even sharp and well templed were unable to do anything against the tanks. You saw one prisoner jump on the main cannon of one of them and then dying seconds later from the vibrations after the tank fired.

Then it happened. Among the prisoners a giant skinless person appeared. It was skinless and wore a robe made from human leather. Above it had a old ceramite armor, your zoom revealed that it was made from both old armor parts but also had newly forged ones. On his arms he had a jury rigged heavy bolter.

It was the Nocturnum. The leader of the MegaPrison03 as Lanky advised. She was next to you crying in silence. It was if like its presence bothered her

>Turn 1

The tanks start killing and driving over criminals indiscriminately, their threads soon get filled with guts and blood. They start making a retreat as the criminals continue exiting and filling the battleground.

Noctum looks at the tank seven aiming towards him as it retreats, he grabs someone who was around and launches it at the Leman's battle cannon.

The poor man flies bleeding profusely and lacking now a leg. The clawed hand and massive strength of the leader ripped its limb as he was shaking him to launch it.

The tank shoot still unconscious of the screaming man that was flying towards them and just half a second after the tank shell was shoot it impacted the man. The following explosion didn't damaged the hull but it sent boiling blood to its exterior and blinded both its pilot and the gunner.

The convicts around jumped in and tried to open the hatch to enter but weren't successful. Noctum while eating the newly ripped and still bleeding leg of the now dead prisoner walked towards the tank and then threw the limb away. Some of the madmen who were trying to attack the tank jumped and tried to get the leg to eat it for themselves.

Noctum ripped open the hatch and started firing his machinegun indiscriminately inside. Then jumped and another two persons entered.

You gave orders to the Basilisks to shoot but their change of objective will take some time (1 turn )

Your lenses point at the seventh Leman Russ and try to get its coordinates. It's moving fast towards the eight Tank but its direction and trajectory are easy to calculate. You change your orders and tell the Basilisk to shoot at those coordinates. It will take them one turn to change to the new coordinates and shoot.

"Shoot that RUSS DOWN!" You yells. Next thing you feel is a metallic hand grabbing you by the nape and throwing you against the hard floor, you looked up and saw the other soldiers looking at you and Oihan pointing her bolt gun directly at your face.

"Are you trying to destroy our tanks techpriest! I accuse you of Here-"

"Wait wait wait!" You say. "The seventh tank has been hijacked by the prisoners"

Her face showed disgust and hatred but all this time with you under her arm made her doubt.

"Soldiers point at this man, in case it is a lie the first one who shoots him down gets a promotion!"

She went again to the hatch and grabbed some binoculars. While she looked at the vehicle your hands started shaking. You had eighteen lasguns pointing at you and soldiers desiring to claim their kill on you.

"He's right. It is pointing at the other tanks instead of the prisoners..."

With lots of loyalty the soldiers stopped pointing at me, the most close one even gave me her arm to help me stand up.

"Miss Oihan If you let me stay on the hatch I could give instructions with more precision to the gunners of the Basilisks"

She doubted, she wanted to shoot those guns but Oihan learned on the Schola Progenium that pride was a easy way of killing oneself.

"The moment you are done you will let me get in there and shoot down all those bastards"

Get the tanks to fire the anti-armor assets at the tanks rear. Specifically all those behind it. Leman's rear armor can fold to heavy shotguns. Have them back up and keep moving standing still is lethal.

>Turn 3
You give orders like a madman. Your voice roaring over the different channels and giving orders to each tank.

Tanks 1, 2 and 3 start shooting their battle cannons non-stop and opening the way for tank nÂş 4 who was surrounded by enemies and about to be hijacked like the first one.

Tanks 5, 6, 8 and 10 are informed of the situation and given permission to shoot its former regiment tank.

The rest of the tanks are given orders to open fire and continue retreating.

The first three tanks destroy lots of convicts who cannot do anything to avoid their impeding doom. Blood and corpses start filling the black soil. Some of the continue rushing towards the tanks, the most intelligent ones just choose to hide and feast on their fallen friends.

Shells fly into the hijacked tank but it is hard to hit him as the five battling vehicles are moving at full speed. The hijacked tank gets next to the 10th tank and both start shooting each other with their flamethrowers. Noctum jumps from his tank to the other one just as a shell from the eight one impacts the seventh one doing critical damage and making it explode.

The leader ignores that he has escaped death by just mere seconds. This time he sees the other two tanks pointing at him, instead of robbing again the vehicle he moves to the main cannon and grabs it with both hands. Is muscles tense and start becoming bigger, blood starts pouring from all its orifices and then he somehow crushes the cannon. Just as he jumps away the stressed gunner still unsure of what he did orders to shoot and dies horribly seconds later as the shell explodes inside the tank.

Shortly after that the Basilisk's shells impacted the main forces, dealing great damage on their soldiers.
>>
By dealing great damage on their soldiers I mean Noctum's soldiers.

>Turn 4

You order the Basilisks to just shoot at the prisoners. They aren't made for tactical elimination of enemies who are on the move after all. ( 1 turn )

Number 8 tries to get closer to the high priority objective and roast it down with its flamethrowers.

The Tank nÂş9 starts shooting down the prisoners with its cannon. Many men die and once again the same cringe show happens, some continue rushing themselves towards a certain death and the rest eat their fallen brethren.

Your vox shouts orders to tank nÂş1,2 and 3 to rescue tank number 4 at once. They continue killing prisoners without catching a break. If any of them gets really close they roast them. Tank 4 is doing well to defend itself with its weapons but some crazy prisoners have made their way on the hull.

The Chimeras stop and let the five snipers descend, you give them descriptions of how Noctum looks and to kill him.

Back on the reserve base you order the demolition experts to get on the drills and get ready to place mines under the enemy's feet.
>>
>>37616161
Guardsman should really start moving in to support the tanks, keep nutjobs off of them and shoot between the tanks. The tanks act as buffer and distractions for the guardsman to surround and shoot.
Once the mines blow and the ground collapses under the prisoner, it will be one giant killzone for the survivors.
>>
>>37616161
Keep going have the tanks back up and have 8 and 9 to keep shooting at Nocturnem. Gaurds move forward to pick off prisoners. Arty kill the prisoner blob.
>>
Well I caught up now. Fucks sake have we managed to peg this super mutant in the face with a tank shell yet? Might be better to simply hose him with heavy bolter fire actually, lets see him keep doing the spider monkey gig when he's being slathered in liberal gun fire if he shows up again.

As for the infantry mob (if you can even call these fucking cannibals infantry) liberal application of flame should solve it more or less.

The Guardsmen need to setup a firing line while they still have something covering their advance. After that its attrition and bleeding the enemy dry of numbers.

There is no problem that cannot be solved with liberal use of lasgun fire and explosives. Seriously its their motto and creed next to "Dies horribly for everyone else"

Oihan grabs you from the robe and seats you on the back "You have done already Skitarii. Let me now do my work. "

She started shooting down the closest enemies with the turret, the Manticore nÂş6 did the same. The rest started soon circling the enemy mass and giving support. The snipers started searching for Noctum and the Demolitions team got behind waiting for the Omega Drill that would transport them.

All that bloodshed seemed to empower them as soon the madmen started fighting harder and mightier. The last one went out of the prison and now that they were all outside they started rushing trying to engulf the vehicles and destroy them all.

Noctum was being shoot by heavy bolters and battle cannons but no matter what he always found a way of dodging it, usually by sending debris against the tank shell. Steam was coming out of his skinless body and every step he made left boiling bloodied footprints, steam started forming on his mouth.

The Basilisk's artillery falls once again raining fire and death over the enemies of the Imperium.

According to your calculations at least another 5 thousand have died. Lanky started crying,

At this point likely pissing him off. he's revving up to full tilt in all the blood shed going on. Sadly we have to keep playing his game or get mobbed by inmates.

I'm really at a loss on him. If he's got an ego we could bait him into a trap of somekind but the bait would likely die with how fast he is. I severely doubt our close combat ability against him even if we convince powerfist-chan to assist us. Fuckers good and he gets stronger the more he fights. plus he's got that twin bolter fused into his arm.

I'm almost tempted to try and land a suppressive fire wall and if he leaps over it we brutalize him with heavy fire from multiple angles. thinking on it morte might hold him a second or two at the most before being taken apart.

You order the Basilisk to shoot at the front lines. Moving to the new coordinates will take them some time ( 1 turn ).

With a heroic effort and the combined effect of the Chimeras and the Leman Russ tanks they manage to dig out the trapped tank nÂş4 from the flood of bodies and suicide troops.

Tanks 8 and 9 try to ram down the great leader to no effort, every time he is about to be hit his muscles swell and let him do inhuman movements at the cost of bleeding profusely after that. Noctum didn't seem to mind this and jumped or dashed to avoid the shell and firethrower barrage while leaving ever more profusely bleeding trails.

The Omega drill comes and the demo experts get inside.

Guardsmen and the vehicles gave info to the snipers about Noctum's position. They were in a tactical disadvantage since that battleground was just a light descent and there wasn't barely any way of pointing him at all. Disobeying all the training the took until now half of them decided to climb the kilometer long hill and the others enter in the midst of the battle. 3 go up, 2 go down.

The tanks shoot at anybody who isn't a guardsman. They are now under the risk of getting without ammo.

While Oihan continues shooting her bolters you chain Lanky inside the Chimera and exit. Your duty is to support your guardsmen allies after all.

About 2000 prisoners die. Noctum continues unkillable so far.

>The red/white star is Heracor.
>The Green starts are the snipers.

>>
>>37617387
For now, we get just as frustrating by annoying and distracting him while playing keep-away, then move in when the plot says it's time for a confrontation.

>>37617472
Drill starts its work.
Snipers going down stop and turn around. That is the opposite of what snipers should do. So long as the enemy has no snipers, missiles, or artillery, they can go to an advantageous position and stay there picking off targets with impunity.
Tanks engaging Noctum keep distracting him.
We head towards there to analyze.
Tanks use flamers to force prisoners back.
>>
>>37617472
Noctum...He can only dodge it if he's expecting it seems like. Alright its risky but a twin-link lasgun hotshot could take him apart.

Theory:Noctum appears almost deamonic or suffers extreme mutation, muscle mass gained at expense of bodily fluid. however he's expended more fluid than most bodies hold. Possesses extreme levels of strength coinciding with muscle swelling/increase of mass. Upper limits of ability currently unknown

Weakness(?):Fluid loss, extreme heat. He appears to expend liquid to increase power. Immolation via flamer could burn off excess liquids disabling/killing target. Possible weakness to nervous system via electric shock (Morte? Most likely suicide unless conjoined with additional assault) Possible chance of stun -> assault. High chance of loss of Morte if failure.

I think I've gone full heracor guys.

>Turn 7

You board the sixth Chimera and order the pilot to drive towards Noctum to analyze it better. Oihan shouts at the running away vehicle but when she sees you in the gunner's seat spits at the floor and then continues killing enemies.

As you get into the grip of the twin linked heavy bolter you see more incendiary shells flying above your head. You decide to communicate what's going on in case Oihan fears again you betraying them.

"Chimaera Sixth to Chimaera Primus. Techpriest Heracor speaking."

Buzzing sound muffled by the sound of the vehicle's own engine, the roaring of the guns and prisoner screams.

"Chimaera Primus. Oihan here. Where in the warp are you going?"

"I've located Noctum. The leader. I think he's afflicted and tainted like the Butcher was"

There was fear in your voice and then the thunder of the long distance shells burning everything on their path. After the silence you heard a vehicle coming behind you. You aimed the turret at your back in fear of being another hijacked vehicle but for your surprise it was Oihan.

"Like I'm going to let you get all the credit and honor"

She yelled something at the driver and it managed to accelerate the vehicle at its limits, surpassing Heracor's and going directly against the enemy.

With the combined effort of all the soldiers and the vehicles approximately another 4000 prisoners die.

From the vehicle shaking and general chaos around you, you cannot see what Noctum is doing.

As the two Chimeras got closer Oihan immediately recognized who the objective was and started firing its turret. You did too and felt for the first time the immense power that humanity created when designing the Bolter.

The bolts rocketed towards him and exploded at his naked feet. He got the attention on us and then one Leman Russ took his chance to burn him down.

Noctum screamed in pain but somehow his leather robe ended taking most of the damage. He raised his machinegun and shoot at me. I am no hero, but not a coward either. I shoot him down as best as I could and hid inside when his shoots started getting way too close to me.

His machinegun was built from scratch and a autogun frame but it was still a strong weapon. Once down you looked at the chained Lanky, she seemed to have passed out.

You got your lasgun and overcharged it. It would be a really stressing procedure for the machine spirit of the weapon and you were still unsure of if the syncing of both spirits was stable yet but right now a las weapon seemed like the best option to bring him down.

According to your calculus this way the weapon would be as strong as a lascannon. You would only have three shoots. One for each power pack thought.

The original gunner substituted you and you exited the vehicle.

In front of you the steamy Noctum stood, it was surrounded by the tanks and seemed unable to escape. If he tried to avoid bolter fire the flame weapons hit him and when he tried to attack the Russes the Chimeras started gunning him down. The four tanks worked as a whole entity. Their machine spirits were communicating and fighting to destroy not only Noctum but his abhorrent weapons.

You jumped to the roof of the Chimera and pointed at him. Channeling all the processing speed to your autoaim the chance of success increased to 99%. You didn't doubted, your metallic finger pressed the trigger and a great red beam pierced his robe and his chest. Making him fall on the ground.
>>
>>37618926
>you looked at the chained Lanky

Also, of course he's going to do something to avoid damage. Or just tank it do to warp fuckery.

>>
>>37618926
Fuck. Yes.

Hotshots. Love them. Even if they eat up an entire fucking powerpack the raw power to kill even a god damn traitor marine in a single shot is glorious to wield. Okay maybe not a traitor marine but you'd still maim one horrifically using this trick. Best to tone it back and conserve ammo if he's down for the count though.

Make sure its done properly, call for one of the tanks to burn his corpse and move on this fight should turn into a rout without their leader.
>>
>>37619043
Oh man you are right...I'm so sorry but have in mind that I've been writing for 9 hours and a half already. Please forgive that mistake.

>>
Just got back. Kinda disappointed we didn't just have the drills set up at the prison exit from the start ready to mulch everything that came out. I mean, the plan was to use that choke point as an ACTUAL choke point, not just let them pour out.

Another observation is that due to the turns lost in reaiming the basilisks we should just aim them at the middle of the crowd and just keep firing there whilst the next mob rush to fill the space. (Though from the point of view that killing more people before dealing with their leader isn't the best plan)

We should probably have also just hung a ways back from the prison and let their numbers be thinned by the smoke and sunlight whilst they tried to charge us, maybe circling around to prevent them returning to the prison.
>>

>>37619124
The drills would of probably been disabled by Noctum if we'd tried that. The dudes a walking anti-armor weapon I'm glad we've actually wounded or killed the damn thing. He sure as fuck isn't human anymore.

As for the other part I doubt it would work much. Like I'd thought last thread the human flesh tent and cannibalism indicated HERESY! I doubt a bit of sunlight and heat would slow these khorne flakes down much. Hell they've actively gotten stronger feasting on the flesh of their dead.
>>
>>37618926
With him quiet the other vehicles take their chances and gun him down with fire and bolts.

Then something weird happens. His body sends a reddish shockwave. It doesn't hurts anybody but makes all the prisoners to stop in their advance. They all grab their respective knifes and guns and kill themselves with them. You can hear Lanky screaming at top of her lungs inside the Chimera.

Noctum's dead body starts to ascend and so does all the blood spilled so far. It all concentrates in a humongous maroon sphere of pure blood about 100 meters (~ 328 feet) in diameter. The balls explodes and rains boiling blood all over the tanks and the soldiers. From it's core a giant muscular and red skinned daemon appears he has a beast like face and wields two massive axes.

"BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!!!" It screams. It's voice rumbles and vibrates on your heart, makes all your muscles to tense and infuriates you.

Yeah, possibly, though he was quite near the front of the charge and so might have encountered the grinder before he got buffed enough to shuck it off oh who am I kidding plot armour but this is less from a 'in complete knowledge of our consequences we should have done this' and more of a 'this is how I'd have liked to have done it'.

I mean, an alternative would have just been to get all the tanks ready and aimed at a small dense patch just beyond the prison gate and just rain shell after shell at it to practically vaporise anything coming out. I find it difficult to see how the big bad would have dealt with that.

Honestly we're going to need plot armor. Usually take a lot to bring down a demon prince., and we are running on empty now. I mean lasguns won't hurt it now, and it can one shot anything we have on the field and get multiple attacks. That being said it's perfectly in character for how fucked this planet is.

ITT:Heracor helps lead an assault on a prison and wonders why the Emperor decided he needed to be tested by a deamon prince.
>>
>>37619445
Standard issue balls of steel.
Regiments call this scenario February.
>>
Oh, one thing I forgot to mention, I felt that Heracor should have been more averse to ordering a kill on the captured leman russ, being a techpreist and all.

I'd have written the scene as a 'C-Commander! They STOLE our leman russ!"
"What?! DESTROY IT NOW!"
"NO! We... We should be able to RE-capture it, r-right?"
"I SAID DESTROY"
"*whimpering noises*

But then it's free to go and release the actual Bloodthirster.
We'll have to update HQ next thread.
>>
>>37619506
Pretty sure Heracor was thinking less save it as save the other 14 spirits over the one.

>>37619497
Pretty much, we are fucked with a capital F

>>37619535
Yup hope elf bitch is listening.

Let's dig through our troubles with a good dose of Drill Energy.
>>
What does the daemon prince look like anyways? I tend to vary and I'm wondering if he has wings.
>>
>>37619506
You forget the part where he's borderline HERETEK.

his super power is common sense and knowing when you have to do something you won't like much. Like blowing up a machine spirit because its been taken by foul forces.

Hopefully he knows how to get out of this mess. All I can think is survival mode this is a full blown clusterfuck now. We're going to be lucky if we keep anyone alive.

>>37619562
If you manage to drive an omega drill up this things ass you will have be an honorary angry marine or something. I mean WOW this is typically something you face as the BBEG and we aren't even close to that yet. I thought the butcher was bad.

I'm too tired so I'll let you guys choose its appearance. I just said it is muscular and has a red body. Don't give him now some weird shit like angel wings and a duck face.
>>
>>37619608
>HERETEK.
Heretek's don't stop loving the machine, they just stop loving the Emperor.

I'm not saying he couldn't have made the choice himself, just that I felt it should have torn at him a little more so.

>>37619623
But can you imagine how amazingly horrifying it would be with a duckface?
>>
>>37619623
Would you be okay with a duck face and chicken wings ?
>>
>>37619623
I was thinking bat-like wings like several daemon princes and greater daemons of Khorne, but I honestly don't want him to. It would make things much harder. I was worryingly curious.
>>
>>37619569
here's hoping no wings. Wings would be bad.

>>37619562
Here's hoping it'll work. Arty his ass with AP shells too.

>>37619608
Yeah we are seriously out matched. Worse case scenario we run from it with a Chimera and vox up help.
>>
>>37619623
Before you stands a fell beast mockery of man and soul. Skin gone his muscles are exposed in a display of bleeding gore and twitch at his every movement. his skull laid bare bleached white and caked in blood its empty eye sockets glow with warpfire. where its bolter arm was now rests a horrific claw of fused metal and chaos runes.

>THE DEAMON PRINCE NOCTUM HAS COME BEWARE HIS BASED LEVELS IN BADASSERY!

Thats my part done. have fun guys.
>>
>>37619690
Man reading this I now see how plain my descriptions are. Brb buying a dictionary and a thesaurus.
>>
>>37619690
Sounds about right, sadly. Advising a tactical retreat and gtfoing from him if he lacks wings might be a smart move.
>>
>>37619762
Fight it and let it feed on the guards or pull a retreat and let it feed on the prisoners still inside. There are no safe options here.
>>
>>37619827
If he goes for the prison all the better. The guardsmen are a resource the inmates are not. Pragmatism before morality against this beast. If he does that he'll gorge himself on the prison and we can have powerfist-chan request orbital lances dropped on the fucker possibly. Mini-exterminatus maybe.

>>37619738
Haha sorry. You wanted a description of the newly ascended Noctum and I wanted a good one. And yeah writing takes practice getting good at. The only reason I haven't tried running a quest myself is a lack of motivation and I'm easily burned out on writing. I'd drop it probably 3 threads in if it kicked off. You're a champ for just trucking along.
>>
>>37619827
Inform HQ (with lots of yelling in panic), have drill change plans and drill under him instead, shoot at his legs as we retreat (he'll heal fast, but continuous damage ought to slow him down just enough), have guardsman shoot in unison at one spot rather than individually.
Unfortunatly we may not be able to fully retreat, or he just goes to free his master.

Uploaded! I'm heading to bed now. I have to wake up in about six hours, go to class and yadda yadda yadda.

I started this thread pretty sad because I noticed that there wasn't much people who answered. It was because I am a Eurofag and most of you Americans were sleeping but It still made me feel bad. I'm really glad more players appeared as the day went on. Thank you very much to all of you.
>>
>>37619929
No prob you run a good quest. its hard to write 40k without either mocking it or full grimderp levels.

Somehow if we manage to survive this I just want to ask the commissar if she's still alive

"When I was assigned to your command I expected to be more fearful of you than our enemy.

This calculation was... incorrect."

>Spend next 2 actions running from homicidal woman trying to fist us in the worst way possible.
>>
We should also warn the other group going for the other prison that their leader might have a plan to spontaneously ascend. At least they might not be caught flatfooted.
>>
>>37620139
Honestly they might just want to trigger the landslide and bury the place.
