*WHOOMPH* Ahh fuck, of all the times. You sit up groggily, rubbing your forehead with the tentacles of your right hand, that was one Hell of a party. Heh, demon puns. All that brimbeer and cannibalis propably put you out for a good 500000 years or so, you open your quadruplet set of eyes and check out the entirety of the room you're in in a single glance. Let's see, shittily organized desk covered in arcane symbols, some sort of poster, a single twin bed, a terrified acne ridden teenager wearing ratty black robes, a relaxed looking cat that you nod to, just about what you expected. You sigh a breath that echoes the sound of the fall of hundreds of civilizations and look up at the kid in front of you, your array of twisting horns scratches the ceiling.
"Really kid?" you ask, modulating your voice so he doesn't go insane from the horror of it.
"Wh-what?"
"A Demon lord? Really? This has gotta be your first time, and of all the beings, you chose not only a Demon lord, but the one that killed Urukaghkahuta the Destroyer? Come on."'
"I-I-I'm sure I can handle you! It's just like they do it u-u-up at the tower, r-right?"
His comment puzzles you, but you're still too groggy to give half a shit. You look down at the chalk circle before you, narrowing your many eyes, sure enough you pick out a dozen weaknesses in the line, any of which you could exploit.

"Look kid, you've got two options, either you send me back right the fuck now, or I break out of this clusterfuck of a chalk circle and wreak havoc on your civilization, what's it gonna be?"
His eyes widen, but he sets his jaw and stands steadily.
"I'd rather be sent to the deepest pit of Hell than admit to defeat against you."
Fucking stubborn-ass humans, ah well, after 500000 years your soul bank could probably use some replenishing, odds are the Unspeakable increased taxes even moreso while you were sleeping.
"Well, I guess that's your choice kid."
You draw yourself up to your full height, and release the checks you had put on your voice. You speak several sentences in several dead tongues all at once, your voice crashing against the fabric of time itself as it rips into the teen's ears, roughly translated you begin saying
"BEHOLD! I AM..."
Oh, shit. Which of your names should you use?

You chuckle inwardly.
"BEHOLD! I AM BALZDEAP!"
You thunder in a truly ungodly voice. The kid cracks at that, welp, now that the little fucktard's gibbering on the floor may as well see what this place is about. You kick the chalk dust aside in one of the weak spots and begin to walk out.
"Ooooh shit."
You fucked up. Big time. This kid may have been new but he knew his shit, you fucking underestimated the little cunt! By the time your thought process has gone through this you're already half your previous height, your spectacular array of horns is down to just one, you've got two eyes, and both your arms are normal. You begin muttering an incantation in your increasingly less ungodly voice until you manage to stop the draining of your power.
You sigh and look down at yourself. To be honest, at this point, you resemble nothing more than a red, extremely heavily ripped baby. An imp. You've been reduced to a motherfucking imp! In a rage you walk over to the gibbering husk of your summoner, take his head between your two adorable little hands, and squeeze. Even in this form you have the strength of a well built human, and the stamina of a demon, so in no time your coated in the unfortunate boys gore and brain matter. Shit, in your anger you didn't even take a moment to absorb his soul. This fucking blows. Without your horns you barely have enough magic to perform even the most basic of spells.
"SHIT!" You scream, then immediately cringe and stop. Your voice has receded into a warbling, childish, nasal tenor. Hardly the stuff of nightmares anymore. After spending a few minutes moping about your fate, you steel yourself. Looks like you're stuck for now, may as well see what's going on around you.

You walk over to the desk. A lot of it's in a language unlike any you've seen before. That said you've seen the rise and fall of hundreds of thousands of human civilizations on each of the 9 planets in existence. After a few minutes you manage to decipher the script, fairly simple really. Huh... the fuck? These people have a fairly good understanding of demons and their summoning and binding, what did you miss while you were asleep? Ah well, you look around the desk and grab a red pen and a few blank pieces of stationary, if there's one thing you've learned in your time as a demon, it's you never know when you're gonna need to do some paperwork.

Health is measured in how many 100% hits of attack you can take. A 100% attack is 1 health, a 100% magic attack is 2 health.
Attack power is measured in the strength of a fit human male. 1 attack means you role 1d100, and what you get is the % of force of a fit human male you attack with, 2 attack means 1d200, etc. i.e if you attack and role a 65, you attack with 65% of the strength of a fit man.
Magic is measured in the same way as attack, except it represents the strength of an average demon in magical terms.
(This is a bullshit system I came up with an hour ago, it's probably shit but bear with me. The post and it's roll will be used. Turns are back and forth.)

Growing tired of this fucking tedious fight, you walk up to the black cat, wind up your arm, and deliver a devastating uppercut, smashing it's head open and smearing it's brain matter over the ceiling. Gruesome.
Unfortunately, cats are soulless creatures, so you don't gain anything from it other than it's lifeforce, which you promptly use to heal yourself.

You begin to look around the room for anything valuable, it quickly becomes obvious the kid wasn't very well off. The texts on the desk are pretty much useless at this point, they're covered in the cat's brain matter which has dripped onto them from the ceiling. As for shinies, what little coinage he has seems to be of a negligent amount, and even if it wasn't, it'll still be a while before you're able to make yourself look convincingly human enough to use it.

You walk to the door, you've realized at this point several things. First off, fighting is a shiiiitttyyy idea at the moment, you took on that cat with minimal injuries, but anything much larger is likely to be human and armed. Second, from what you can tell, this idiot was summoning a demon from inside an apartment complex, it's insulting, really. Next, this particular civilization seems to have grown on a fertile Venus, first Venatus civilization you've heard of in a while really (then again you were just out for 500000 years). Finally, this civilization appears to have some knowledge of demons for some reason, normally your existence has been a closely kept secret as your kind manipulated the human civilizations that keep popping up for souls and essence.
Anyway, it's time to get your bearings, you crack open the door, and for the nth time today...
"OOOH, SHIT!", you slam the door. Shit. Fuck shit motherfucking cunt balls. You've landed in the midst of a Class 4 human civilization, and one that's obviously endured far longer than it should have. You reflect on your knowledge of, well, everything. Seems like a waste of time but for some reason you're compelled to think it all through.

In existence, there are two realms. Hell and Sol. Hell is quite obviously the realm of demons, a built up civilization with different castes and types of demons, lead by the Unspeakable, who despite his name is really quite speakable, both of and to. Sol is the realm of the Eldritch and the humans. You see, for millenia the demons have fueled their economy off human souls and human essences, by doing this they've driven hundreds of thousands of civilizations into the dust. Generally the cycle goes Class 1: Where humans are hunter-gatherers, Class 2: Where humans enter a feudal age, Class 3: Where humans enter an age of nations and 'modern' warefare, and Class 4: Where humans enter a futuristic age. Normally at Class 4 humans begin to look towards 'space', all too soon though, they realize 'space' isn't so much 'space' as, well, horrible, mind bending abominations. The 'stars' that humans see in their night sky? That's their eyes. Once this is realized, human civilization falls into pandemonium, and as this is the best time for souls and their brightest, the demons come out of their portals and unleash a rapture. This occasionally leads to conflict with the Eldritch beings, hence your fame as a warlord. The human relation to demons tends to be extremely basic, sometimes they summon them, but it's usually very, very badly, and the demon tends to let loose if it's in a Class 2 civilization or below, otherwise they'll wait till pandemonium.

But the Class 4 civilization you're in is... different. Upon the mere glance outside you can tell, they know about the Eldritch beings in the sky, but if they do know about them, where is the pandemonium? Not to mention, all that information about demons on the kid's desk that looked like it was from a library, what he said about some sort of 'tower'... were demons common knowledge here? And if they were, were they largely enslaved? Overwhelmed, you sit on the bed and idly gnaw on the cat's corpse.
Suddenly a pentagram of blood forms on the ceiling, dripping down into the form of one of the Unspeakable's personalities. Fucking shit, of all of them, did he have to send Beelzebub?
"BEHOLD!" Beelzebub buzzed.
"IT'S ME!" Beelzebub buzzed some more.
"I FINALLY FOUND YOU!" What an annoying fucking sound.
"Ya, hey buddy." Beelzebub paused, looking around for the source of the voice. It looked down, and narrowed it's 7000 eyes.
"Balzdeap... is that you?"
You sigh, it comes out as a whiny, high pitched gasp.
"Yes, yes it is."
Beelzebub erupts into laughter, a sound reminiscent of sharpened human bone scraping against a board of chalk mixed with hundreds of babies abandoned by their mothers burning to death.

Oh shit, you could never admit to this fucking poser that you were one upped by an amateur, thinking quickly, you decide to bluff it.
"Of course not! Don't you see the state he's in? I chose this form because... because... it's the new fashion? Ya, that's it."
It looks unconvinced, but has no choice but to accept it.
"Well alright then, at least you're at full strength, you'll need it." God that FUCKING BUZZING SOU- wait, what did it say?
"And why's that?"
"We've been trying to contact you for the last 50000 years, after all this got out of control" It gestures around in a general sort of motion "You see, this civilization is an oddity, it figured out some secrets to binding us to their bidding fairly early, and it's only risen since then. Technologically they're at a Class 4, but despite knowing about our Eldritch buddies up there, their societal sanity is still at average levels." You ponder what It said for a few moments, that's truly a momentous change...
"In fact, they've even started colonizing some of the other planets here, and are leaping even further ahead technologically by looking at the remnants of their civilizations." Okay, sure, but what does this have to do with you?

"Well, Balzdeap, buddy, you're the strongest demon left in Hell besides ourselves you see." You nod thoughtfully. Wait, what!?
"Holy shit what!? How'd that happen?"
"The rest of them are enslaved. Look, all you gotta do is free some of them and cause this civilization to fall into pandemonium like the ones before them, simple stuff for a guy like you, right?" Shit. Shit shit shit. You can't back down now, he's calling your bluff without even realizing it. Fuck. Alright, you've got no choice, you'll figure something out.
"Pfft, ya, totally! Easy shit! Uh, let's see, could you transfer anything from my soul account to me? Just make it a bit easier on me in terms of, yknow... things."
"It's empty." Beelzebub buzzed.
"What?"
"Your soul bank is empty." That FUCKING BUZZING.
"O-Oh... alright... that's fine." This is going to be harder than you thought.
"Well if that's everything..." The motherfucker buzzed.

"Is there anything unnusual about the magical binding that this civilization has? That kid almost got me with something before I ended him." You question.
"Almost got you?" Beelzebub fucking buzzed.
"W-well I mean, I was always able to break free of course it's just... it was... uh... stronger than... usual?"
Beelzebub looks at you dubiously with 6432 of his eyes.
"Well, since you mention it, they seem to have made some sort of formalized system of it based on their computer code, apparently most rich families have a small contingent of demons summoned by hired 'programmers'."
Interesting, not quite what you expected, but good to know.
"Alright, good to know, now, pray tell me Beezlebuddy. Where the fuck did all my souls go?"
Beelzebub suddenly looks as sheepish as a non-sheep demon possibly could.
"Well you see, administrative costs went up quuiite a bit with the disappearance of 75% of our population, and uh-"
"Taxes?"
"Taxes."
Shit.
You consider asking him for a loan, which would be an incredibly easy way to get a fuckton of souls for a short period. Then you remember his interest rate. Maybe not.
"Alright, well, thanks, I'll get right to throwing a Class 4 civilization that's infinitely stronger than any we've seen before under the bus. Yup, I'll get right to that. Yesiree, don't check on my or anything , alright?"
"Yes, yes, farewell." With a final buzz, It departs, finally! Your nerves are shot.
Thinking quickly, you lap up some of the blood leftover from his entrance, this should give you enough magical energy for a teleportation, and maybe some cheap carnival tricks on the side.

You begin thinking... what's the easiest way to collect souls?
Of course! The classic! A contract! A deal with the devil! That's a theme prevalent throughout all the civilizations, each one is filled with individuals that are just pining to sign their soul away for the ability to be the greatest rock band ever, or something like that. In fact, you can feel someone calling out for a devil in this same apartment complex, perfect! You muster what little energy you have and teleport to the place.
In front of you is a child, no older than 9 or 10, in ratty clothing, you're huddled in a dark room, garbage and beer bottles strewn all about. Fuck! Your appearance, he seems extremely put off by your diminutive appearance, you need to think of a reason, and quick.

"AAAH!" The boy exclaims in fear at the suddenness of your appearance.
"Close enough!" you yell, rereading the script of that animated movie in your mind, hope this encounter has less reverse-drag.
"A-a-a demon!"
You ignore him.
"Get ready boy! Your impish salvation is at hand! I am the guardian of lost souls! I am the powerful, the pleasurable, the indestructible Balzdeap!"
You flex like a Greek God.
"Pretty hot, huh? Now, you say you wanna make a contract? What for?"
The boy timidly looks at you, sufficiently wowed by your performance.
"My dad... he's not nice, I guess I want a favour more than anything, I want you to kill him!"
Whoa. What? This kid's pretty fucking vengeful, what could that guy do that-
"You see he... he hurts my sister."
You look in the corner of the room you're in. Sure enough, there's a young girl, older than the boy, but still young, she's quite obviously been abused in more ways than one. Oblivious to your presence, and probably everything else, she lays there with glazed eyes.
Honestly, while you are a demon and such things aren't quite as despicable in your eyes, it's a little disheartening to see that humans still haven't gotten past that, even in this society as far advanced as it is.
"Alright boy, let's do this, you sign your soul over to me, I'll kill your dad, and even rehabilitate your sister as a bonus, got it?"
His eyes brighten and he smiles widely.
"Ya!"

What a gullible little shit. Despite that though, you are faced with a choice. Demonically written contracts are always binding to the human party, however, they're only binding to the demonic party if written in that demon's blood. This kid obviously didn't know that, and trusted you wholeheartedly. Whatever you do, you're gonna end up with two souls, and two thralls (hey, you never said in what way you'd rehabilitate the girl). It just depends on whether there's enough pity in your heart to actually follow through with the contract. As you write out the contract on one of your pieces of stationary, you struggle whether to sign it honestly or dishonestly. The child signs, and now, the moment of truth.

Only humans and Eldritch beings have souls, Demons have to harvest them from them.
>>
>>37581189
I assumed it was a matter of cats being soulless evil fucks. Pic related.

I'm a bit interested too but it's probably going to be rather pointless in the large scheme of things unless we want to be a rat demon or something.

Ah, fuck it. You wheeze out a sigh. Blood coagulates at the end of one of your fingernails like a pen and you sign the contract. Hopefully these kid's souls will be enough for you to take on a full grown man. As the children's eyes glaze over and their minds are erased you think about thrallhood. When someone signs a soul over to you for a contract, on honour they get 30 or so years with whatever they signed for before entering thrallhood, but for a favour like this, it's immediate. Thralls will follow any order you give them to the letter, but that's about it. They're not smart, and certainly can't think for themselves for do anything innovative, if you want something like that you should think about growing yourself a cult.
+2 souls
Upon gaining the souls you feel your body start to swell up, you're now the size of a pre-teen human, your skin is significantly more durable, you're significantly stronger, and you have a bit more magical potency.
After of few minutes of examining your new form as a Great Imp, you hear a key fumbling at the door. Welp, time to uphold your end of the bargain. You order the kids to stand back and ready yourself. The father bursts in, he's big, huge even, and holds a beer bottle in one hand. On sighting you and his children his eyes widen.
"Now, I dun't know whut a demun's duin' here, but git tha fuck away frum my kids!"
He smashes his beer bottle against the wall, leaving him with sharpened glass.

Now you're pissed. You wind up for your classic uppercut and nail him in the head. You hit him in such a way that his head is cleanly detached from his body, and the body isn't even affected by the obliteration of it's controlling appendage. It stands on it's own for a few seconds, spurting blood from the gaping hole where the head used to be, then falls to the ground.
You heal yourself with his life essence.

You carefully extricate the remains of your summoner's body from the robe and wash it to the best of your abilities using the tears of your thralls. Welp, it'll have to do. Now then, time to explore and learn more about this civilization. You leave your apartment and truly take a look around for the first time. All around you, white buildings built on curve and impossible angles gleam, with the occasional except of massive concrete skyscrapers, such as the one you're in that seem to house the lower class portion of the population. The ground is covered with what look to be machines of some variety, bright lights glow from them below. Floating aboveground are various plazas and streets conjoining the different high-tech looking buildings, you can see humans socializing down among them. And above you see flying vehicles of some description zipping along in a chaotic fashion. You climb down the building and begin wandering the streets. Now that you're at ground level, you notice your kind. They're not quite everywhere, but it seems as if each prissy looking rich girl, lovey dovey couple, or nuclear family has one or two hulking demons trailing behind them, forced to carry their things. For their part, the demons look timid and meek, forced into submission by their bindings. It seems that not only to these bindings force them into servitude permanently, but they also restrain their physical stature, and in some cases morph them into something new altogether! You see one or two wardemons that you recognize, but restrain yourself from calling out.

Souls can be harvested from contracts, and from recently dead humans. There may be other ways, if you can think of one that I decide is reasonable that'll be another way. Or if you can think of a better way to do gathering souls of the two methods you already know.

You begin thinking, how else could I grab souls? Of course! You're buddies with Avarice, also known as Greed, one of the 7 deadly sins! What better way to a mans soul than through money, and the time when money is most alluring? When you're gambling for it. For now you clean up your thrall's original apartment, hiding the father's body in the closet, and set up a table. You have zilch in terms of money right now so you try to think of another reward. The boy is 9, so there's not much he can do, but the girl is 22, and quite a looker at that. You cut her outfit a little more provocatively with your knife and set her up with some cards you found in your apartment at the table. You send your male thrall to apartments where you can sense particularly large amounts of avarice. Soon you have an assortment of con-artists, gamblers, cheats, and lawyers at your table. Your female thrall explains the rules, knuckles, a game played extensively in Hell. As she talks about the prizes, she says, "If I win, I get something of each of yours, if you win, you get, well..." she winks. They think they know what she means, but honestly they'll merely get to keep their lives.
The game commences and it's going well for a while, you commanding your thrall via your mind while under a concealment spell in the corner. However a certain lawyer with a mad haircut seems particularly adept at the game, and eventually beats you. Your female thrall shoes everyone out. Damn, no souls this time, but if you do better next time the payout could be huge.

You walk outside your apartment to get some air from the stuffy indoors, and to take in the fantastical cityscape in front of you. As you're walking out a girl bumps into you. She looks no older than 18.
"Oh" she mutters, looking at your face, "A demon, and a free one, huh."
You stop her with a hand on her shoulder, how strange, she's quite obviously suffering from some form of depression, but she's also free of sin, completely.
"Well I can't just let you go now that you've seen me." Somehow, you expected her answer.
"Not like it matters anyway, I think I'm gonna go and try flying." She smiles a little, huh.
You think quickly about how you could turn this situation to your advantage, you could just collect her soul once she goes splat at the bottom of the building, but another idea dawns on you.
"Hey, how about this, I can't let you go on the off chance that you don't become an hero, and you want eternal oblivion. I can take your soul from you, you'd be doing me a favour, your consciousness would completely cease to exist, and your body would stick around, how's that sound?"
She thinks for a few moments and nods, "Sounds go-" Wasting no further time after her nod of permission, your promptly rip her soul from it's corporeal vessel.
You feel like this was an EXTREMELY lucky encounter, you can't count on something like that happening all that often, you got another soul and a thrall out of it though so who's complaining.
