Thinking quickly you start to move other nearby rocks and boulders over to pile them on top of the bodies, making it appear as natural as possible. As you do this you speak, addressing Nivah.

"I'm sorry I couldn't protect you Nivah, once I started fighting Loric I realized how powerful he was. If I turned my back on him he would have escaped or possibly killed me while my back was turned. I acted rashly by attacking him, and I put you in danger as a result."

Nivah's face softens as she walks over to you, rubbing the back of her head where she was struck. When you finish arranging the boulders she jumps up and pulls you into a hug.

"It's okay. You won't always be able to protect me, that's why we've been training so much. Eventually I'll be strong enough to where it won't be necessary, okay?"

You smile and nod, hugging her back before letting her go. You turn to Cael'la and walk over to her address her.

"Thank you, for protecting Nivah." you say simply, but add under your breath. "So when she hugged you did you get a good feel?"

Cael'la's face turns deep blue once more and her face contorts into an embarrassed frown.

"I have no idea what you're talking about."

She hisses and turns on a heel, smacking your arm.

"Riiight. Well, we should go clean up. If we look like we've just come from a fight people might get suspicious, especially if two apprentices go missing."

They both nod in agreement, chattering as you make you way back to the massive building. Nivah and Cael'la go together to the women's wash rooms while you make your way to the men's with Taral in tow. You change your clothes and take a quick shower, cleaning yourself and dressing quickly. By the time you are finished you have to run through the halls to make sure you arrive on time.

"What are the benefits of each style, realistically?"

Jorrak smiles.

"Good to know you're taking this seriously. Single saber is the most commonly used style as it allows for the widest range of flexibility. For all intensive purposes it is the 'jack-of-all' style, allowing you to adjust on the fly, it is also the choice most commonly used by Sith who specialize in the use of the force. Staff-sabers are geared toward defense and reaction based combat, attacking a skilled staff saber user is a good way to get disarmed and dead before you can even process what has happened. However their unwieldy nature means more often than not unless you are incredibly agile that your movements will likely be more limited. An unskilled staff-saber wielder may just as likely kill himself as his enemies if he is not careful. Lastly the dual saber style. When you're wielding two sabers more often than not you're going to be on the move constantly, as your combat style will need to be very aggressive. While the second blade affords you many more options with attacks it can also be a weakness. Rush him in quick. Pull up short and lightly force push one of his ankles. He said before that Staff wielding relies on agility and movement. Limit the movement and you limit his options.

When the ankle buckles, force charge in close and swing low at the other leg. He'll try to rebalance on the off foot, move out of the way, or counter swing/block. Counter swing/block will be difficult given limited mobility but possible due to experience. If he moves out of the way then you'll be in prime position to press your advantage. If he manages to keep his balance you'll still be in close range with the force charge that you'll exploit the ineffective range of his staff.

Yeah, but they aren't all blacksmiths who forge custom handles. Generic ones can be made from scratch if you don't mind it looking ratty as fuck, and most entry level Sith probably just assemble them from the standard parts.

Something like that would need custom handles with a mechanism for combining them. Xanth would still do the assembly and meditation to place the crystals.
