/tg/ - Traditional Games

Disney Villains Victorious is a /tg/ homebrew project based on the idea of a world, not entirely unlike our own, in which all the villains from all the Disney animated feature films were not defeated at the ends of their movies but were instead victorious, completing their goals in part or in whole.

It is a world in which Ursula rules the seas, defied only by the uncatchable Pirate Lords, the cutthroat merchants of the East India Trading Company and the might of Atlantis and its magitech-toting mercenaries. It is a world where the grasslands and jungles and forests are prowled not only by fearsome primal beasts like Shere Kahn and Scar but also by the ruthless, tireless hunters that stalk them. It is a world where Europe has been divvied up between evil sorcerous monarchs like Maleficent, the Horned King, Grimhilde and Jafar, mad, inquisitorial clergymen like Frollo, and Dark Gods like Hades and Chernobog.

It is not, however, a world completely devoid of courage, heroism or hope. Around the world, the PCs' characters and their allies plot and plan, fight and strive and win their own victories against the villains that would rule them. The time to fight and to be free is now.

Any thoughts on what Goob/Bowler Hat Guy should be doing in the setting?

I imagine him running from place to place, trying to figure out how to fix things but never able to pull anything off. If found and worked the right way he could become a huge source of info for the party, as he knows a lot but is too stupid to see how to use it.

Where is he from again? He looks very familiar but that might just be his resemblance to Snidley Whiplash.

Yeah, that would be the one. I feel like a lot more of our contributors have seen more of the older Disney films, which could be contributing to why the past few Gridlock-centric threads have been so slow.
>>
This is somewhat off topic, but has anybody noticed that this system would also be great for 8-Bit Dystopia?

Also, I suddenly had the idea to run a DVV Classic campaign with my group. It will start out as a normal horse race in the Old West, but will turn out to be a Disneyfied Steel Ball Run in disguise.
>>

>8-Bit Dystopia
I feel a sudden urge to reboot that once i'm done with this project.
>>
>>37519240
Do we have established what causes the setting? Because standard DVV was pretty straightforward.

I'm not sure how everything gets mixed up in Gridlock. As I was trying to imagine it I actually saw Mok from Rock and Rule summoning Chernobog instead of the other demon, which might explain the Rock and Rule and Wizards setting. It might be fun to toss in pic related from Interstellar 5555.

I've actually posted a couple ideas for fluff recently but it seems that people are wearing down and we need new energy. I just got a pastebin account today, hoping to write some stories for Gridlock so maybe that will help. That's my conceited goal at least.

Some ideas for random expansions I've had
>Chanticleer from Rock-a-doodle has, in a fit of rage at the pestering from disloyal friends and colleagues has sung the Sun awake, permanently. His domain is now a blasted wasteland, where there is no moisture and nothing can grow. The Skeksis from the Dark Crystal use the steady positioning of the sun to draw more energy, and rule over a greater energy. Their rule is mainly challenged by the Goblin King, who launches attacks from his demi-plane of Labyrinthium. The owls of Rock-a-Doodle now control the american NorthWest.

>Two of the major factions in Rock and Rule and Wizards are Mok(Rock and Rule) and Blackwolf(Wizards). Each seeks to show the newly awakened Chernobog that they deserve to be his champion. Hedonism versus Destruction. Maybe through in the Villain from Fern Gully and Interstellar 5555 as contenders here.
And crap I'm too tired to write the rest right now. What do you think? I expect most of it to be thrown out, but brainstorming right?

Personally, I'd see him as perhaps one of the few humans left with a free will. He served Dorris well, so she allowed him to escape, for now at least. More effort catching a fool with a cloaking broken time machine is effort not put into managing her empire

Speaking of Doris, perhaps we could give her underlings in the forms of the video game villains. There was that Ant girl and Fat greek guy, both of which Could be expanded on.

Perhaps Doris has realized that she can't go this alone, and has retrieved some human help, albeit with limited freedom systems

On the surface, it seems natural, but take a step bellow, and you'll see how really in control doris is

Rock 'n Rule and Wizards are both post-apoc, but maybe the entirety of Bad Bluth could be post-apocalyptic. Now there's an interesting idea.

Nah, I think Bluth's work s close enough to the fantasy work of Disney that we can fold it into Classic.

Ralph was dead, and there was nothing more to be done for Sugar Rush. As well coded as the racing game had been, the devastation and corruption wrought by the Cybug Swarm was absolute and it was only a matter of time, quite a short matter of time, before the gameworld collapsed in in itself. Even with the threat of imminent dissolution looking large in his mind, Turbo, or King Candy, or the Swarmlord, or whatever the wolf in sheep's coding considered himself knew that he couldn't escape looking as he did without tipping off the rest of the Arcade to what really happened. Taking just a moment more to survey the ruined, infested racecourses below with something almost like nostalgia, the usurper landed on the crusty breath-mint cap of Diet Cola Mountain where he had thrown his foe. Using all his willpower along with every tip, trick and cheat he'd learned in his rise to power, the manic racer further suppressed the Cybug he'd incorporated into himself, rewritten his appearance to become the jovial if regrettably foppish King Candy once more. Patting a bit of dust off his kingly regalia, the pretender looked himself over, checking himself for any nasty insecticide tells.

"There. We mutht appear prethentable, muthn't we. Like a proper King in Exile."

Satisfied with his efforts, the rotund little man began a quick but thorough search of the mountaintop, intent on finding the jetspeeder his 8-bit reject of an opponent had rode in on. Throwing a glance through the swirling swarm of Cybugs toward the horizon, Candy noted idly that the game's CGI backdrops were beginning to distort in the distance and that the terrain had started to shift and buckle, breaking up into its composite polygonal objects.
>>
>>37530604
What did distressed the malicious monarch more however was the sight of his candy castle exploding in slow motion into an assembly of pink and white cylinders, so much so in fact that he almost overlooked the lovingly misshapen candy kart and that skidded to a halt beside Ralph's impact site.

"Raaaaaaaaaaaalph!!! Raaaaaaaaaaaalph!!! Get up!!! Get up Ralph!!! You gotta get outta here!!! Everything's falling apart!!! You gotta go!!! Raaaaaaaaaaaalph!!!"

Cried out the kart's sole occupant, the small figure glitching through the vehicle in a flash of broken code to kneel at the downed giant's side, shoving him hard with both hands in an attempt to rouse him. Eyeing the claptrap kart distastefully but finding joining the apocalyptically unstable gameworld in its final death throes even more unpleasant, King Candy strode up to the idling car and wedged himself inside, foregoing his usual helmet in his haste. Although usually one to take every opportunity to kick a foe when they were down, any unpleasant words Candy had in mind for Vanellope died on his tongue as the skybox failed, plunging Sugar Rush into a sickly, unnatural half light. Deciding to leave the little Glitch to her grief and her fate as the gameworld's final corruption and dissolution began, the unrightful ruled threw the kart into reverse, performing a textbook three-point turn as he prepared to make his escape, only to find Vanellope staring straight at him with wide, cold eyes.
>>
>>37530623
"You... You killed him... You killed Ralph... Didn't you..."

"I didn't do anything of the thort, Vanellope, I athure you."

Candy denied, all thoughts of gloating suddenly gone from his mind, feeling in that moment just the tiniest bit frightened by the little girl's baleful gaze. Standing up almost protectively between her friend's body and the Candy King, the young racer spoke again, glitching and flickering with emotion as a wall of rippling, pixelated nothingness began to sweep in from the horizon.

"You killed him! You killed my Hero!!!"

She screamed, her voice distorted into a garbled, ghastly wail as her entire body twisted and flashed, lines of faulty code glimmering eerily against the encroaching darkness. Eyes widening fearfully, Candy slammed the shifter into drive, grinding the gingerbread gears terribly as he lurched forward, speeding toward the rim of the crater and the mountainside road that had brought the Glich up in the first place.

"Everyone's gonna know what you did to Ralph!!! Everyone's gonna know, and when everyone knows, you're gonna be sorry!!! You're gonna be soooooooooooorry!!!"

Vanellope's voice shrieked, seeming to bounce and echo off the walls of darkness swiftly closing in on all sides, following Candy as he tore off. She was wrong of course, and would no doubt be deleted within moments as the world fell in on her, and the usurper couldn't afford to let nonsensical threats distract him now. Glancing back, just once, in the rearview mirror, he saw the flashing, stuttering image of the small figure turn back to the body of her friend and throw herself across it as the undulating, twisting vectors of the gameworld's event horizon crashed down over the both of them. Sugar Rush was collapsing and he needed to drive faster and better than he ever had before, faster than King Candy, faster than Turbo, to reach the exit before he shared the girl's fate. He would make it. And none would ever be the wiser of what he'd done.

Thanks. It's not the best thug I've written for DVV but I wanted to contribute something to this thread.

Trivia: Originally, Vanellope was going to have a greenish or grayish skintone to show that she was a Glitch and unlike the other racers, but the design team thought it made her look too much like a little zombie.
>>
>>37531753
the way I see it Glitched!Vanellope would be kind of like the Peripheral Jumper from SCP, a flicker of Pixels at the edge of the players vision, that sort of thing

Fuck I hate frozen but why are they so hot
>>
>>37532394
Exactly right. I like that idea a lot myself.

She's a collection of misplaced pixels and a flicker of movement in your peripheral. She's a jittery sprite watching you from far beyond the invisible walls and waist-high fences confining you to the play area. She's the distorted, warbly voice guiding whispering hints, exploits and cheats in your ear.

I like to think that if the PCs were ever to come face to face with the Glitch, the Ghost herself, that she might appear as a void-black, Vanellope-shaped hole in the gameworld with heavily corrupted, pixelated edges and an echoey, "multiplied" voice.

Life in DOR-15 ind. Can be summed up in one word: Business. From the machines to mines to the skies above, business is the key to life. Everything is treated as a contract or venture or stock, from marriges being signed in triplicate or childern being treated like new store expansions.

Through out the city, most people dress in greys, blacks, and dull purples, almost all in buisness suits or dresses giving some mann. But by state law, all are required to have their mandatory Personal Aid Overseer. These usually come in the shape of bowlerhats, but larger constructs aren't out of the question

Acrobatics: 8

Intimidate: 8
Travel: 11
Insight: 10

---Traits---
Think You Can Hide From Me?: +2 to Insight when trying to detect people in Stealth.
Big Game Hunter: +3 on ranged rolls against large, dangerous animals. Particularly mean kittens don't count.
Varmint Blaster: +5 on ranged rolls against small animals.

File: td.jpg (23 KB, 355x270)
23 KB
23 KB JPG
>>37546581
---Powers---
That's A Good Boy: Slade's Charm is conisdered to be 12 against animals trained for hunting, as well as animals that are naturally pack hunters.
Release the Hounds: For every hunting beast assisting him, Slade gains a +1 bonus to Insight checks to track animals and to detect any who are hiding, up to a limit of +8. If 5 or more hunting beasts accompany him, he and any Inner Circle hunting beasts may additionally reroll such checks. For the purpose of this power, Mooks count for 1, Lackeys count for 2, and Inner Circles count for 3.
My Dogs!: Having already lost the two best hunting hounds he's ever had (Copper was slain defending him from the monstrous bear Foxkiller and Chief still crippled by that accursed fox), Slade refuses to let those tragedies repeat themselves. Any hunting beasts under his command may reroll all Prevent Harm Checks, Robustness based Endure checks and any miscallenous checks to save the hunting beasts from physical harm.
And Next Time I Won't Miss: If a particular animal has attracted Slade's most dire wrath, he will spend a will point. From that point on, he will have a +4 bonus on all Ranged, Melee, Brawl and Insight checks against this animal, and will reroll all rolls against it. This effect can only be used against animals Slade has seen, identified and (as far he knows) been wronged by, but lasts as long as Slade holds onto his grudge (meaning it will last forever unless he provided with a particularly good reason to forgive that animal).

---Equipment---
Double-Barrel Shotgun: +5 to Ranged. May be fired twice using the same action. An action must be spent to reload after every two shots. Requires a minimum of 14 Robustness to be used.:
Hunting Blade: +2 to Melee. Rather crude looking, but it gets the job done.
Brand Spanking New Truck: With a specially engineered bulletproof radiator to protect against angry old ladies.

>>37552212
There will definitely be some unplugging going on. Fix-It Felix and Sugar Rush are definitely gone from the Arcade, but Hero's Duty is probably still there, seeing as how only one Cybug escaped the game to infest Sugar Rush with its spawn.

Also, its important to remember that the Villains' victories and the fates of the Heroes should feel interesting and satisfying, even if the circumstances needed to make them happen are a bit more complicated.
>>
>>37552212
He can delete someone from the game's code and have no one be any the wiser, you don't think he can disguise a few things with it?

Fix It Felix Jr. is still around and is serving as a homebase for The Resistance.
>>

Maybe Litwak just couldn't bear to get rid of the old cabinet and has it plugged in with a few others in a back room somewhere.
>>
>>37553100
Fix-It Felix and the denizens of his game could have been forced to evacuate to another gameworld after Ralph's death too. I remember some discussion in an earlier thread in which Felix became super competent and lead the efforts to keep the other gameworld's from corrupting while Calhoun became overbearingly overprotective of her players and traumatized by a renewal of her PTSD.

Been meaning to ask, who is in charge of the Grid? If pic related was victorious in the first movie, Flynn would have never escaped the grid, and thus would have never made C.L.U.

Technically, the MC was only a henchman, carrying out the executive guy's orders. Maybe he kept Flynn as a slave and forced him to make CLU so he could have a program with user-level permissions, thus escaping the limits of his programing?
>>
>>37558811
That sounds good.
>>
>>37558811
The bigger question I have is how exactly does the Grid fit into the world setting? It's come to my understanding that the villains attain immortality through various means (personal favorite is the Hunter's Society).

I suppose Atlantis would be a rival to the grid, on account of their technology?
>>
>>37559074
Atlantis may or may not exist in Gridlocked. We're trying to decide whether they're the same setting at the same time, the same setting in the future or completely separate worlds. Personally, i'm in favor of the first one as the second requires canonizing what happened to the Classic villains and the third has no sense of continuity.
>>
>>37559074
I thought Atlantis was only in the vanilla DVV setting, not gridlocked?
>>
>>37559319
I'm still in favor of the third, frankly.
>>
>>37559319
Won't the first require explaining why Europe has only medieval technology, but North America has internet access. Radcliffe has only just established the Virgina colony after all.
>>
>>37559606
Radcliffe is on his third generation and we could always have the idea of Europe embracing Magic while America embraced Science with the notable exception of Bill Cipher.
>>
I would prefer if Classic DVV and Gridlocked remained separate.

As a compromise, I propose that players can travel between the two worlds via New York sewer portals.
>>
>>37559839
Now THAT is cool. Maybe we should do that.
>>
>>37559839
Same.
>>
>>37559319
>>37559746
Ehh... I prefer Classic and Gridlocked being separate worlds, Or maybe connected through some shit like the hollow world theory. Otherwise, explaining everything would be way too much of a clusterfuck.
However, I'm in favor of Atlantis existing, or more like "having existed" in Gridlocked. Something like, their civilization eventually collapsed and they're in an even more decaying state, if living at all. It may still be possible for PCs and villains to get their hands on some of that magitch, though. Maybe even visit the ruins of Atantis.
>>
>>37559903
Either they're separate worlds or they're not. Make up your mind!
>>
>>37559839
As in PCs from Classic going to Gridlocked and vice versa?
Because it'd be weird (but interesting) to have a motorhead or a vidya character facing against Yzma or Maleficent, yet cool to have them trying to take out Chernobog.

Just popping back in to say, as I always have, that Classic and DVV really need to remain as separate worlds unto themselves. The timeframes and thematic differences between the core game and the expansion are so great that trying to shove them together will create a whole that is lesser than the sum of its parts.

I'm not opposed to some crazy sort of hidden portals between the two if they're really desired, but their existence should be left up to the DM's discretion.
>>
>>37566193
I suppose if I have to compromise, i'd go with them being separate but you can transfer between them with sewer grates if only because it gives us a tie in to this. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enchanted_%28film%29

Oh, this has promise. I could try something like this. Litwak has been something of a question mark of mine all this time. What has he been doing in the Gridlock world? Has his arcade been suffering due to the glitchiness? I'd imagine that he's been laying low and continuing to provide family entertainment wherever he is. I'd like to imagine thg Litwak is a good guy. Mayb he even knew Flynn.
>>
>>37569431
are we talking Flynn Rider here, if so I've created a destablising event for classic Europe

>"Mirror Mirror in my hand who is the fairest in all the land"
>RAPUNZEL.
>"Well we'll just have to correct that won't we, Gothel"
>(Talking mirrors speak with a voice like the Death of the Disc)

also on the subject of the Arcade, I like to think that the Cybug Villains (Except Drachenbug) all have several phases

>Punch: stage where he normally wins in his the game he has taken up residence, repeat but with him cheating, cybug hybrid stage triggered by one of the players stabbing him in the chest

>Terror: flies around the arena dropping hard candy spikes on the players, secod stage has her ditch her wing to try and clobber them with hard candy weapons, cybug hybrid form has her leaping around the arena on eight spindly legs spitting boiling syrup at people, this stage is triggered by slicing her arms off

and that is all I have at the moment

I prefer the settings separate (with the exception of sewer portals, which I suggested).

On the Arcade side, I wonder how players are even getting into the games. The Cybug Villains are good, but Terror Bug losing her arms probably won't happen unless the players know who she is based off of.

Also, he meant Kevin Flynn from TRON.
>>
>>37570566
derp, I had no Idea that's who he was talking about, I haven't seen the original tron, also the arms thing triggers automatically when she runs out of strikes in her second phase, the arm slicing was just flair for it.

I plan on portraying Count Ronald James as a vampiric nobleman who ditched Prydain in the dead of night. He is now hiding out in Egypt from both the Horned King and the Sultan while he amasses an army of his own. HK is ignoring him, but Jafar wants the Count dead and his magical items confiscated.

Should be another hour until I can start working on that. Until then, you guys can guess which namefag I was until I retired the title. The winner may choose the JoJo character I stat after DIO. The losers admit defeat in their hearts and lose thier souls. Are you game?

Here is a longer winded version that covers more bases.

>Phantom Blood: Unholy energy flows through this body, making it beyond the simple undead. Whenever this character deals 2 or more Strikes in a single Brawl attack, it gains one Strike. It also gains an additional Strike whenever it disposes of a living Mook or Lackey. This great power comes at a great price: This character bursts into flames and dies the instant they are exposed to true sunlight. Artificial UV rays cause 3 Strikes per turn of exposure and Blinding.

I'm not Sverd. Hint: I did something minor that was relevant to the name. Also, don't forget about your soul.

Wait a second. If we're doing JoJo, then who is statting the rest of the characters we need to complete the beta? As much as I wanted to move on to Mariah and Iggy, that should take precedence.
>>
>>37603451
The beta is technically complete, as all the Kings have been statted. It would be nice if we could work in at least 1 Villian for every kingdom, but right now it's okay to stat joke characters.

Maybe we should include them at the back of the corebook, in a section that doesn't appear in the table of contents.
>>
>>37603607
Who we still need:
The Coachman
King Leonidas
Wendy Darling
Alice
The Queen of Hearts
Captain Hook

That's still a couple of Kings and Queens, even if Captain Hook is the only 'important' King on there. I couldn't find Hook on the 1d4chan, Suptg or Foolz. I'm surprised he wasn't noticed sooner.

On an unrelated note, I found Cruella in the archives and put her on the 1d4chan.

>The Coachman
Charming/Robust, probably can enchant food to donkeyfy people at will

>King Leonidas
Didn't see it

>Wendy Darling
Smart/Sensible, can travel to Neverland by flight once she is freed, possibly can fly by herself and others with powers

>Alice Liddell
Smart/Sensible, can travel to Wonderland via holes or mirrors, bonus to interacting with or understanding nonsensical creatures

>The Queen of Hearts
Charming/Robust
Nothing coming to me

>Captain Hook
Basic pirate stuff, I'm spent on imagination at the moment
>>
>>37603756
Well, I thought we had Davy Jones as the Pirate King.

Also, the Coachman. There's a name I haven't heard in a long time.
>>
>>37604489
>I thought we had Davy Jones as the Pirate King
Hook has his own territory and KLR. The Huntsman also have their rulership divided among them, so the pirate lords could have a similar relationship.

>There's a name I haven't heard in a long time.
If we knew more about the Coachman, then it would be much easier to stat him. I checked around the internet, and there's not much to work on.
>>
Heart of The World: An extremely old and dangerous magical amulet. It stops time, granting the user ‘free time’ to perform additional actions during their turn. However, for each additional action taken, the user must give up a Strike in return. Pausing everything but yourself is exhausting, and all magic has a price.

I was going to add a picture of Dio's Stand, but I'm leaving it out in case Knightfag somehow wasn't spoiled already

I got nothing on the Coachman, but I might stat Stromboli as a Villain (there was mention of him setting up shop at Pleasure Island, though he might also work as a random encounter) just to make copious "Master of Puppets" references. Perhaps he has made himself a legitimate threat by somehow animating all his puppets as Pinocchio was animated?
>>
>>37605409
I was going to make a puppet character. He would be a magically animated doll filled with stolen Atlantean tech and turned into a weapon against evil. I planned on using Geno as a cover for his real inspiration of Mega Man.

Anyway, here's some Stromboli Powers:

>Master of Puppets: By spending a Will Point, Stromboli may animate 2d6 puppets to fight as Mooks for him. These puppets can rise 1 round after being defeated and fight again as long as they are connected to their strings.
>I'm Pulling the Strings: As long as Stromboli has puppets available, may make Ranged attacks by directing their movements and they take any Strikes he would take by pulling them in harm's way.

He also has puppeteers (implied to exist off screen) as Lackeys.

>Fire-eater (Unique): True to his name Stromboli does not lose strikes to fire of any sort, instead by spending a will point he gains an attack of opportunity against anyone in melee combat with him whilst ablaze

does this sound like a good power for him?

>when defeated he exacts his revenge on the coachman, who lured his son from under his nose whilst he was out shopping, by using them to make him strangle himself, the players are going have to convince him that he coachman must see justice and that killing him will get Hendricks no closer to finding his son

I was going to make a Shadowlands Villain based on D'Arby or Miraschon. Nothing says high stakes quite like gambling.
>>
>>37613380
these are strings you cannot see, strings that bind the soul, ans the shadow is a reflection of the soul, is it not?
>>37613339
Apologies for the poor wording, when you defeat the Coachman Hen decides to enact his revenge for the Coachman luring his son away while his back was turned, and what way is more fitting than using the Coachman's gift to enact the foul deed. the players are witness to this and must convince Hen that if the Coachman is killed then he will not know where his son was shipped to and that in order to fix the evil the Coachman has enacted he must be brought to justice, all this is happening as the Coachmans face turns blue and his hands inexorably crush his own windpipe
>>
>>37613733
Henson wasn't one to use strings, though. A better way for him to work would be that he has a number of handpuppets, which he can only use one at a time, that grant crazy bonuses and abilities.
>>
>>37613733
I understand what you mean, but I would prefer real stings physically attached to people. Shadows are Facilier's territory, and I think that normal strings would be more appropriate in this situation anyway.

>>37613843
Maybe Stromboli should be the only one doing the player controlling, activated by Will Point.
>>
>>37613666
I think he would come across as a Kindly, jovial man, someone with whom you can share a drink, share a laugh have all your debts just wash away and if you want more you just have to ask
>>37613872
I see your point about Stromboli, maybe the people he Can take control of are indicated by a tattoo of a snake with a foxes tail somewhere on their body
>>37613843
ah I hadn't though of this, maybe his hand puppets are infused with their own personalities, but for bonuses I think we should keep things simple
>>
>>37614272
I know you didn't mean to capitalize Kindly, but that would make a good name for somebody pretending to be nice guy. I doubt he would be able to prey on the locals, but suckers are born every minute. Once I'm done with done with D'Arby, I will start statting up Mr. Kindly.

I Bet My Soul (!): J’Darby’s methods of paying back his debts are notably severe. He will approach gullible looking strangers and ask them to wager their souls on a game. Should they lose the bet, the Friends shall seize their souls and turn their bodies into poker chips. J’Darby is also subject to the rules of the bet, but either party may cheat freely. If a character is caught in the act of cheating, they must pass an Endure Test of 35 to justify their action in their heart. To admit defeat in your heart is the same as losing. J’Darby may spend a Will Point to add +10 to his Endure for the purpose of this Test. Only by beating J'Arby at his own game can the players regain the souls from The Other Side.
Heart of the Cards (!): Spend a Will Point. J’Darby adds +5 to his poker result after his roll.

---Equipment---
Trained Cat: J’Darby will lay out two slices of meat next to a seemingly stray cat. He will then ask one of the players if they would bet their soul on which meat the cat will take. Should the player decline, J’Darby will make a Persuasion roll against them. No matter which meat the player chooses, J’Darby wins the bet.
D’Jarby’s Card Deck: Poker is played with Intelligence or Charisma + Legerdemain + 3d6. This specific deck is fixed by the Friends to be favorable to J’Darby, so he gains +3 to his poker roll when he is the one shuffling.
Chewing Gum: Used to stick extra cards under the table.
Bar Patrons: Should the players ask someone else to shuffle the deck (besides themselves and J’Darby), roll 1d6. On a 6, then J’Darby will gain +2 to his poker roll because he has hired that bar patron ahead of time.
