Your trip through the city streets are relatively peaceful. You attract some curious stares, what with leading a processions of slaves and livestock through the city streets, but nobody bothers to say anything. While not the most normal sight, it's not just terribly unusual to see processions of slaves marching through the city.

You arrive outside of your master's house just as the sun is beginning it's descent in the sky. You'd estimate it's about one in the afternoon, perhaps earlier. Regardless, you approach your master's front door and knock. It's Darzi who answers the door.

She begins to greet you, but at the sight of the slave column trailing behind you the words seem to die on her lips. When she does find her voice, it's to admonish you. “Gods, Mikhael! I thought you were getting goats! You can't feed Zahak slaves, they're people!”

You're a little offended, frankly. You wouldn't feed slaves to Zahak. The last thing you want is for him to get a taste for the blood of sentients. Still, this provides you a prime opportunity to screw with Darzi. Adopting a haughty tone, you reply. “You can't tell me how to raise my child! If I want to feed him people, I will!”

The look of sheer horror on her face is priceless. “You've lost it, haven't you? I knew it was inevitable but I didn't imagine it would happen so soon.”

You can hear some nervous muttering from behind you, and the sounds of chains clinking together. You suppose it might not have been wise to make those sorts of jokes in front of your new slaves, but it's not like you really intend to feed them to your dragon. “Relax, Darzi. I'm joking. The goats are for Zahak, the slaves are for my estate. Has my Master returned?”

Darzi sighs in relief, leaning against the door frame. “Thank Pani, I thought I was going to need to get Chrys down here to put you out of your misery. Gods know I couldn't do it. Your Master got back a little while ago, with the key and about three hundred spare gold.”

Sounds like he got a pretty good price then, or good enough at least. You turn your attention to the slaves behind you, addressing them as a group. “Wait here, I'll be back in a moment. I just need to fetch something and then we'll be headed for my estate.”

Prema nods, where as most of the other slaves seem more interested in gawking at the architecture. You suppose it is rather impressive, not a single building is less than three stories tall, at least not in this part of the Vatis District, and the walkways which connect the houses must look quite strange to outsiders.

You step inside and Darzi closes the door behind once all of your goats have managed to get through the door. You pass through the baths and up to the sitting room on the second floor. The goats have a little trouble with the stairs but not much. Once in the Privacy of your Master's home, you remove your cloak carefully and drape it over two of the wethers you bought from the goatherd on the outskirts of the city. There is a chorus of panicked bleating, and then in an instant they're gone. The remaining three goats wander away, their ropes now cut. You drape your cloak calmly over your shoulders. Curiously enough, Ricky forces an image of a fleshy, lopsided heart into your mind. You're not really sure what to make of it.

>>
Zahak perks up at the sight of the goats, leaping to his feet and starting to stalk one of the females you'd bought for master. Just as he's crouching down and wriggling his hips, readying himself to pounce, you step out in front of him. You transmit the mental image of the last remaining wether and Zahak eagerly shifts his focus. You're about to tell him he shouldn't just char his meat black and devour the dry, stringy remnants when your Master walks out of the kitchen, key in hand.

“Why did you buy three goats?” He ask, perplexed.

“I bought two females, for you. I know about your proclivities and figured you'd appreciate the companionship. Plus, you can use them for milk.” Your Master actually does like goat's milk.

Your Master scowls, waving a finger at you admonishingly. “Baseless accusations! Rumors made up to slander my good name! Pervert I might be, but never have I resorted to goats!”

You hold up your hands in mock surrender. “Fine, fine. As you say, Master. I'll take them with me-”

He interrupts you. “Well just hold on, lets not get ahead of ourselves. I never said I didn't appreciate the gift.” He offers you the key, and digs a fat sack of coins from a pocket in his robe. “Anyway, I ended up paying a hundred and forty for the key. Bastard tried to charge me three hundred, should have boiled the blood in his veins for the insult.”

You accept the coins and the key, tucking both into your cloak. It's now that you face a decision. With the key in your possession, the last barrier between you and the estate has been lifted.

civ V with all the expansion is the best for beginners.

civ IV is still number 1 imo, civ V is good with one of the expansions packs, cant remember. think it was brave new world

civ rev was meh

civ BE sufferes from what civ V had before brave new world. hopefully it will be taken care of in an expansion pack

Civ V is p good, all things considered.

V is pretty good now that all the expos are out, IV was my favorite for a long time until the modding community caught up and the last expo released for V. IV didn't age that well in my opinion.

Beyond Earth feels like how V did at release. It's just not deep enough/polished enough/modded enough right now compared to V. Buy V for cheap, play it till BE gets an expansion or 2.

The problem with BE is that they already made a better games in the very same genres and they expect people to ignore both Alpha centari and Civ V+expansions.
Right now its just a glorified mod.

brave new world is essential, fixes so much stuff. the others are just supplements
>>
>>37476838
you can get the complete edition for around 13$ on steam right now since its a weekend deal.
It has all the expansions and its cheaper than buying them separately.

>>37476838
All of em for $12.49 on steam right now.

But really Brave New World is essential, Gods & Kings is the other big one. G&K adds religions and probably other stuff, but it's not all that important really. The other DLCs are different playable factions or premade maps. Both of which can be modded in.

You reach out to all of your companions via the brooches. {Gather round, everyone. We're going to visit our new home here in El-Amin. Now, I'll admit. It's not in the best of shape at the moment. I've purchased some additional hands to help fix up the place, but I won't sit idly by and let others do all the work.}

Your companions informed, you turn your attention to your old Master. “I think it's finally time for us to get out of your hair. I've bought an old seaside mansion on the docks south of the Grand Library, we'll be staying there for the next few days while I'm in town. Oh, but I did tell-”

You're interrupted by a chorus of panic bleating as Zahak leaps upon the last remaining wether, sinking his teeth into its neck. The two nanny goats do their best to get as far away from Zahak and their soon-to-be dead compatriot. There's a burst of flame, and the scent of burning fur fills the air. He's incinerated the goat's throat. After that the bleating stops, but the goat continues to struggle even as Zahak begins to rip into its flesh.

You're pleased to see that Zahak isn't charring the goat's entire corpse black before eating. Rather, he burns away the hide and then feast on the flesh beneath, letting out a burst of flame periodically to cook more of the goat as he eats it. This seems to have the effect of prolonging the goat's suffering, in addition to making it far tastier than if he'd eaten it as he usually seems to eat things.

Zahak settles in, and you turn your attention once more to your Master. “Anyway, as I was saying. I told Ismael to invite the old gang over to your home in a few days time. It will only be briefly before I lead them over to my new home, I'll be hosting something of a housewarming party I suppose. You're invited of course, if you'd like to come. As is Rasim or anyone else you'd like to bring along.”
(1/3 or 4)
>>
Your Master claps you affectionately on the shoulder. “I believe I'll take you up on that offer. Perhaps I will even invite along some old friends, colleagues of mine. I assume everyone will be bringing a dish of their own, to supplement the table?”

You nod, that is the way these things generally go. It's sort of just an unspoken rule that one is supposed to bring a dish of their own to friendly get togethers. Alleviates some of the burden of feeding everyone from the host's shoulders.

It isn't long before your companions arrive. Darzi was, of course, already in the sitting room and everyone else was only a floor above it seems. Profectus speaks up once you've finished your conversation with your Master. “Must we really help fix up this place? I mean, you said you'd hired help didn't you? I say let them do their jobs and not risk interfering.”

“Yes, Profectus. We must. A little bit of hard work will do you good, keep you in shape. Not like we've been doing much fighting lately, we could probably use the exercise.”

He doesn't protest, but you can tell he's less than eager to spend the day working. Mortia seems to share his reluctance, though she doesn't voice her displeasure. Chryssa is, of course, as impassive as ever. Darzi and Skull Kid actually look pleased, you think. It's hard to tell with Skull Kid because his mask obscures is face, but he's standing up a bit straighter than usual and seems eager to get started. Fulvia doesn't seem to care one way or the other, much like Chrys.
(2/3)
>>
You clap your hands together. “Great, we're all here. Now then, about these extra hands of mine. I ended up wandering through the slave markets while I was in search of livestock and decided to make some purchases. The men and women you'll be working with will be serving us as staff for the foreseeable future, so do try to treat them with some modicum of respect.”

While they might be slaves, in El-Amin it's considered proper to treat one's slaves well. They're property, but they're also people. Beating them arbitrarily is frowned upon, and killing a slave even by accident could result in anything from a steep fine to the removal of a hand. The proper relationship between master and slave is supposed to be distant, but respectful. They're largely below notice.

Profectus and Darzi seem mildly surprised, but it passes quickly. Chryssa remains stoic, as does Fulvia. You doubt either of them hold particularly strong opinions regarding slavery. Mortia seems ill at ease, but doesn't say anything. Skull Kid just doesn't seem to care, or at least you don't think so. It's a little hard to tell with him.

Regardless, that issue addressed you set off for the ground floor, taking the side exit rather than the front door. You find your carriage sitting exactly as it was left, your camels scattered about the area. Some are eating grains from a vat against the wall, and others drinking water. Most of them are merely laying down, staring drowsily out at the world around them. They're really quite passive creatures.

The only reason we even got as far as water GM in the temple is because Soma dropped that decision in our face right before we decided to leave, since I assume he was also sick of our procrastination.

I know that pain.

The only way we will ever git gud is just keep voting to meditate instead of chill or talk to other people.

We gotta be the recluse, doesn't even really matter what we're doing as long as we're meditating or reading.

Nah mate, it's fine to talk and such, just don't go out in search of side quests.
Or if we do go out for some other reason, don't take every plot hook we come across.
The only hooks we ignored lately that I remember is seeing our dykebro and the soulless princess in El-Amin, and meeting the roundear on the way to the market when looking for robes.

We are already quite powerful, a grandmaster who know the secret of enchantment and a large and well equipped party including a fucking dragon.

I mean, I also want to get better but we have the time to do other things (and we will have time to meditate during the assassination mission).

We are just a single GM though, and a Master in only a single element, with a pretty small number of effects/metas.
And I wouldn't say knowing enchanting makes us actively powerful, that's more a passive thing, it's basically like if we had really good luck and could find lots of enchanted items, except we can't make anything all that great at this point, would need a lot more vys.
Zahak is just a child, and although he is strong, I would not count the strength of our party as our own.
Do you really think we'll meditate on the way there? I'd rather get it over as fast as possible, so hopefully we'll only stop when our mount needs rest, and maybe get a quick effect or meta done, so maybe what, 2 or 4 times altogether, hopefully?
Don't want to waste time on offing the husband. Also a bit afraid Chrys will jump us as soon as we get back, hopefully she'll hold till after the Pa'vala so we can talk things out.

Thread is over guys. Sage if you're going to continue.

I'll be bumping it whenever it reaches page 10, as anon has yet to provide what he has promised, and I wouldn't want to deprive him of the easiest method of conveying his project.

In simpler terms, there is much work to be done ya brat!

>what he has promised
What is that?
>>
>>37491061
A schedule prototype for the explicit purposes stated last thread. If it takes him sixteen or so more hours I'll probably get to it myself if the thread is still available.

And of course, latter half page 10 bump.
>>
>>37490128
We're probs the weakest GM out there.
>>
>>37490339
Nah we gotta off the husband before going to the Deep Desert.

plus we can read on the way there in the saddle.
>>
>>37495863
Yup the grandmaster mediation we chose was shit-tier.
>>
God damn it guys! I thought Soma was running again today.
>>
>>37497524
No, it was actually pretty good, it's just our minuscule Vys pools and lack of Effects/Metas/Techniques and a general lack of experience.
>>
>>37495898
That's what I was saying.
