Yes according to Major Fan theory, Sol's Power is overwhelming the actual blade to the point it can't be used as a weapon though it's amplification properties are still workable, and what better way to pimp out a sword, then to build a sword around it?

In the Pachinko game Guilty Gear Vastedge, Junkyard Dog Mark-3 has Long Ranged Gun Like capability's. Hence in Sol's intro you can see him slotting in a bullet within the weapon.
