Disney Villains Victorious is a /tg/ homebrew project based on the idea of a world, not entirely unlike our own, in which all the villains from all the Disney animated feature films were not defeated at the ends of their movies but were instead victorious, completing their goals in part or in whole.

It is a world in which Ursula rules the seas, defied only by the uncatchable Pirate Lords, the cutthroat merchants of the East India Trading Company and the might of Atlantis and its magitech-toting mercenaries. It is a world where the grasslands and jungles and forests are prowled not only by fearsome primal beasts like Shere Kahn and Scar but also by the ruthless, tireless hunters that stalk them. It is a world where Europe has been divvied up between evil sorcerous monarchs like Maleficent, the Horned King, Grimhilde and Jafar, mad, inquisitorial clergymen like Frollo, and Dark Gods like Hades and Chernobog.

It is not, however, a world completely devoid of courage, heroism or hope. Around the world, the PCs' characters and their allies plot and plan, fight and strive and win their own victories against the villains that would rule them. The time to fight and to be free is now.

Map Wars: Episode 2

While somebody is working on the hunters, lets decide what works on the map and what does not.

Unrelated: Anon, I have nothing personal against you but those blobs and messy lines are really messing with me. Also, why is there a miniature Hawaii in the top left corner of your map?
>>
Well friends, I've completely forgotten that I have to wake up in four hours for a business trip tomorrow. I hope you all have a fantastic night, and I'll try to continue contributing however I can while away.

Great work as always everyone!
>>
After watching the new JoJo, I'm going to start a marathon of Fireball so that somebody knows what to do with it. Until then, we should try and figure out the borders of hat land. and supers paradise.
>>
>>37300502
I haven't followed these threads in a long while, but I think Fireball is in a wildly different era from everything else. There isn't even an evil there. It's just dealing with humans.
>>
To the anon(s) editing the maps here's how you make a lined circle:
>Circle pencil tool
>always pencil, never brush
>select lining color
>Adjust to proper size
>Apply paint
>select main color
>reduce size of pencil dot so there is a 1 pixel thick lining per 10 pixels diameter
>Apply paint
Can easily be done in any photo editor or paint tool
>>
>>37300525
It's really far into the future (48000 years into the future gets thrown around a lot), and possibly not even on Earth. The warring humans can be translated to the corporations or even desperate scavengers that want to access the Tower.

Maybe Drossel should have only a small area, to represent how only her tower and the surrounding area got warped away. Considering how she doesn't seem to care about anything out of her tower for longer than two minutes, it is unlikely she has expanded her borders past that.

Just finished Fireball and Fireball Charming. Yes, they are that short. Drossel said she wanted to conquer the world at the end of Charming, so it's possible she wants to follow through with that in Gridlocked. Other than that, it's likely that Tempest Tower would be minding it's own business.

I've been ruminating on the concept of Oogie Boogie, the Seven Holidays King for a while. The main things stopping me from writing it up as a K/L/R are the fact that I'm terrible at writing and the question of if it should be Gridlocked or basic DVV.
>>
>>37306100
Had you're the only Britbong here
You're the only one up
>>
>>37306295
It's basic DVV
It's located in a dream world, like the Locker or Wonderland
>>
>>37306320
That's what I thought. Thing is, Jack gets blown up by what's pretty clearly the modern US military, so the question is "do we just ignore that fact for the sake of fitting it in?".
>>
>>37306343
Well it was literally in the basic setting before gridlocked
So yes
And the military can be Atlanteans
>>
>>37306369
>Well it was literally in the basic setting before gridlocked
Wait, has what we're doing with it already been decided, or am I misreading things?
>>
>>37306396
No
Oogie Boogie had already been decided ages ago
He comes and spreads his own holiday Bug Day to everybody
Even those that don't want it
And that's it
>>
>>37306416
Oh.
I was thinking something based on his desire to become the "Seven Holidays King" from the Oogie Boogie Returns game, where he'd put his own sadistic and probably bug-infested twist on each of the seven "town" holidays. But I guess that's fine if it's already been decided?

>DOR-15 and A.U.T.O hook up through an online dating website

deargodshowweird.png
>>
>>37310825
Doofenshmirtz might be the only one with an active social media account. It's mainly pictures of inventions he's working on and the occasional update from his Livestreaminator.
>>
>>37310935
The Internet, email and online dating could definitely be a thing in Gridlock, but you have to remember that all these different Lands have been snatched up from different universes, and they each might have their own individual version of the Internet until folk like Yokai or Xanatos try to rebuild the national network. You also have the Grid to contend with as well.
>>
>>37311042
What if Grid savvy players used the internet to fast travel over long distances?
>>
>>37311008
After watching some Doofenshmirtz clips to see what the man was all about, I am wholeheartedly supporting this idea. Just page after page of pictures of his inventions, food he's about to eat, selfies and LOLcats.
>>
>>37311065
I like this idea a lot, but it can be taken a step forward:

CLU and cohorts are actively trying to get a continent-wide data network reestablished in order to spread the influence of the Grid from its data center strongholds on the West Coast. Player Programs can use this network for almost instantaneous travel if it's gotten up and running, but they have to decide if that convenience is worth CLU's increased power.

Forgot the picture.

---Ideals---
Life is short, so enjoy it and look cool while doing so.
Between oppression and death, take a third option.
Going fast is great, but stopping to enjoy the view is fine too.

---Goals---
Zero: Complete your dream car and give it a totally sick animal theme.
On-a-Roll: Take your dream car for a spin across an extremely dangerous (everybody shooting at you or worse) locale at top speed with your best pals.
Hero: Take 'extreme' to the next level with an act so mind blowingly insane everybody will continue to talk about it for generations to come.

Physical Description:
Crash Wilson is tall and athletically built. His leather jacket is full of so many patches and pins that it gets lost in the colors and symbols. Instead of a safety helmet, Crash complements his jacket with a pink scarf like a lunatic with poor sense of priorities.

Rundown: Ashley's birth family were of the many families removed from the old Motorcity. He was separated from them during that confusing time, but the young boy was picked up by some 'eccentric' wasteland raiders that adopted him into their crew. When he became a man, he had to leave the bandits and shape his own life, driving away into the sunset with tears in his eyes. Then his makeshift automobile falls apart sometime before he meets his party.
Though rather loony compared to most people, he has his feet planted firmly in the ground when it comes to vehicles. When you need a job done fast (but not done right), look no further than Crash Wilson.

---Ideals---
Find a chance to bring up previous trophies when possible.
When the most dangerous game is a human, beast, or something else entirely, take it out and make a better world for the hunters to come.
Sometimes the biggest trophy is telling the story of the one who got away.
---Goals---
Zero: Get known as a hunter or a marksman, either is good.
On-a-Roll: Find a way to get father’s hunting prestige back.
Hero: Bring home a cryptid as a trophy. (Gargoyle, one of Bill’s creatures, dragon)

Physical Description: Oliver grew to be taller than his father, by an inch, standing at 6’2” he rarely has any problems keeping an eye on his mark. His tanned outfit belonged to his grandfather, paying remembrance to one of the best hunters out there in his eyes. While also adding his own flare, making it almost a letterman’s jacket of previous animal pelts. With that being said, he also has the safari hat to match it.

Rundown: Oliver grew up to be one of the luckier ones, not many could brag about being able to live in New York City, with a standard of living higher than most others. All thanks to Xanatos, and the luck of being born in a rather well to do family. With it came benefits, the benefits of hunting, from the Pridelands of Scar to the Shere Khanate, he was able to visit these areas and to hunt. On their last night in the Shere Khanate, his father met his unfortunate end at the hands to the beast and his mother forbade him from future hunts. But, not all hunts have to be in such exotic lands, and he’s heard rumors of creatures that roam even in the same continent as he. During his expedition, he comes across the party, ready and very much willing to cooperate, after all, big game hunting is much easier to do when in a group.

Still not too sure how to do the whole rifle thing, thought about doing it like the crossbow example but I'm stuck.

Items in DVV is an abstraction. As long as a rifle and a crossbow have +3 Ranged on them, they function the same unless otherwise stated by your GM.

Exactly. I like to think that the Galactic Federation is running the Hawaii like an animal sanctuary, except even more so after the islands were transported into the Gridlock world. Everyone is allowed to live their lives and go about their daily business, but they are completely and utterly cut off from the outside world, and are being kept in isolation to "protect the indigenous species" there after the great shift.
>>
>>37322768
What are the characters from Lilo & Stitch up to now?
>>
>>37323413
Hmm... Stitch may be caged or put into some sort of stasis in Galactic Federation HQ while Lilo and her sister, along with the rest of the citizens of Hawaii have gone on with their lives.

I could see the upside to living in the Earth Wildlife Preserve being that they are completely save from any external threats, as the Galactic Federation is advanced enough to obliterate anyone who threatens their preserve, which is to say everyone.

The downside is that they are essentially treated as intelligent zoo animals and are rewarded for acting as such, leading to a society that is pleasant but stagnant and predictable with no potential for growth or change.

Lilo I'm imagining is now a young woman, but I'm not sure whether peer pressure and the expectations of the zookeepers have worked all the strange out of her system, or if she is still a weird rebel.
>>
>>37323707
>Players are hired by (insert villain here) to steal some alien tech

>Lilo I'm imagining is now a young woman, but I'm not sure whether peer pressure and the expectations of the zookeepers have worked all the strange out of her system, or if she is still a weird rebel.

I like the idea of Hawaii essentially being killed with kindness: "Why fight or strive for anything? We're safe. We have enough food. We have surfing and rerun television and fun and games. What more do we need?"

Maybe they are also using the Smaller Islands and nearby undersea as testing places for the 624 experiments. A sort of secret, on the side project seen under The newly elected R&D director, Hamterviel. They work on a new experiment, launch it via tube (like head crab pods in hlf2) into one of the villains factions, watch it go until killed or captured, record the results, and try at it again.
>>
>>37324094
What if this testing facility and the group running it were really secret, even from the Federation? What if this element of danger and risk and uncertainty that the Galactic Federation frowns so heavily upon is actually the underground "good guy" faction, or at least the faction that believes in experimentation and taking chances and would possibly be inclined to help the PCs?

When the various Hyper Knockout games started getting pulled from arcades across the country due to excessive buggyness few people noticed particularly much simply moving back to the other fighting games such as Street Fighter and relegating there memories of the Hyper Knockout games to vague memories of what the characters could do, when a gamer remember Sanda the emotions tend to be mixed depending on whether or not they played him or played AGAINST him. Sanda was a character built for hit-and-run style gameplay requiring his player to be constantly on the move to build up the distance to launch his better attacks form the distance necessitated by the game. Sanda was lucky his speed was exactly what was needed to allow him a chance to escape his game safely once the Cybugs launched there attack and as a result Sanda was the only character to actually 'escape' Hyper Knockout as the only other survivors were the characters who were already in game central station.

He's pretty basic at the moment since I did not want to get into the whys of him being out in the real world without us having made concrete decisions on how the Digital Worlds are going to interact with the Real World.

I built him with an obvious fighting focus, I only gave him a point in Endure because most fighting games have a 'taunt' option so it works in that regard.

What could happen with Hawaii is that you have aliens wandering around gawping at the locals, and taking special 'care' of them. Or being overly cautious.

I like the idea of the Hawaiian Islands being turned into an "Earth Wildlife Preserve" where the indigenous flora and fauna were to be protected at all costs. Maybe at first they were allowed to engage in "risky behavior" like surfing, skateboarding, hang gliding and such as part of the sort of "non-interference" policy of most real wildlife preserves, but after the shift over to the Gridlock world the Galactic Federation scientists watching over everything decided that, being from a whole other universe, they were all now extremely endangered species, and clamped down on any sort of behavior that carried the slightest risk of death or injury. They could also be keeping any eye out for any strange or "deviant" behavior amongst the populace, which they then try their best to "correct" for good of the individual in question.

For some reason the idea of Gridlock's most important (and only) Villain networking site being Doofenshmirtz' dumb blog really amuses me. I can really imagine that the others have subscribed and pay really close attention to it in order to get a heads-up on what the madman is about to do next, and perhaps to get a few laughs at his expense. One idea could be that all the other Villains are very interested to know just how Doof was able to take over and retain control of the Tri-State Area so that they can properly determine exactly what the Evil Doctor is capable of, but every time he's about to tell the story (which he guarantees is a good one), he gets interrupted or loses his train of thought. As such, the other Villains have to pick up bits and pieces that he references in his other rants, things like:

>It took the combined efforts of the three most powerful -Inators he ever built.
>It resulted in the inadvertent death of a certain Platypus that he regrets to this day.
>It involved mass-blackmail.
>It ended in the most horrifying spontaneous song and dance number ever performed.

So what did happen to the Pines family in the Gravity Falls area?
>>
Considering that the Galactic Federation lacks the manpower and resources to fight Zurg, it is unlikely that they can fully micromanage the human population like the Axiom does either.

They should have a hands off approach, with two of every species locked up in thier HQ as a back up plan.
>>

>>
>>37333237
The idea of Zurg existing also makes me think of the idea of NOS-4-A2 existing here too and that's awesome and terrifying considering all the machines on Earth.
>>
>>37333220

It was decided in previous posts that the original inhabitants of Gravity Falls (and those who wander too far into the Oragen Triangle) were all trapped in a dream world with Bill Cipher.
>>
>>37333220
It has been discussed that Bill Cipher may have pulled the essence of Gravity Falls and its citizens into his realm of dreams and nightmares, leaving the actual, physical commnitu an overgrown, Silent Hill-esque ghost town in the middle of the patch of paranormal woodlands known as the Oregon Triangle.

Any number of issues cold have befallen the Pines family, but none of them are good. I can imagine that Grunkle Stan may just have sacrificed himself in an attempt to keep his great niece and nephew safe. Mable and Dipper I could see as being imprisoned in Bill's realm, or alternately, Mabel dying or Dipper being sealed away somewhere with vital information. Wendy I could see living as a mountain woman in or around Gravity Falls, trying to keep others from stumbling into it and getting spirited away or mauled by cryptids or curses.
>>
>>37333289
It's like Bill Cipher's world of nightmares overlaps the land occupied by the Oregon Triangle, and the boundaries between the two are VERY thin in Gravity Falls.

I migr be mistaken, but I think the idea seems to be that the Feds came down to find Dr. Jumba and, given the havoc he and Stitch caused, stuck around to perform some crisis management and an "ecological cleanup" of the Earth Wildlife Preserve. Around this time, the Hawaiian Islands are transported to the world of Gridlock, marooning the Galactic Federation scientists and soldiers there. Seeing themselves in danger and the species in the Preserve as incredibly endangered now, they have put the islands on lockdown, treating the archipelago as a combined zoo and research facility as they attempt to discover what happened.

>The BUY n' LARGE Wasteland:
Scattered throughout the BnL Wastes are a number of potential launch sites, both old and new. The BnL Embarkation and Fabrication Center that the Axiom was forced to land at was not the only such facility built by the colossal commercial conglomerate, and at least one of them could still have a mostly-finished starliner waiting to be commandeered. Additionally, there might very well be some older, smaller craft buried amidst the mountains of junk somewhere.

>Gravity Falls:
There very well could be a crashed, saucer-style spaceship out there in the dense and foreboding forests of the Oregon Triangle. Or, the PCs can simply be abducted by one passing by which they can then take over after a brief but pitched battle,

>The Tri-State Area:
Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz has invented a lot of Inators, so many in fact that he can hardly remember where he's built them all or what they all do. It stands to reason then that there may be at least one Space Travelinator he's just been sitting on for a while.

>The Earth Wildlife Preserve:
The Galactic Federation has spaceships, and a spaceport at their HQ from which to launch them. What they don't have is anywhere in particular to go.
>>
Clearly the setting needs a bit more thought n a fundamental level. I'm up for it.

She's dirty and dusty, her clothes are patched and threadbare and she wears a large hiker's pack laden with supplies everywhere she goes. However, the more time one spends around this unassuming young woman, the more they come to notice the unsettling way she always seems to be watching, listening, and studying everyone she meets. There's something definitely "off" about Fiona, something almost inhuman, that people just can't seem to put their finger on.

>Gee, I tell ya, you shoulda seen the look on stan's face when I told him they BOTH sold each other out! It was hilarious! One sold the other for the last journal and the other for sold him out for her own gain! Boy, what gag!

>Ha, you humans sure are good for a laugh! Maybe I should see how giffany's 46753th honey moon with question mark is going? Or go spook ol red head with a couple of ghosts? Oh, I KNOW! Go whole hog with them. Make them Gridlock's version of the twins from the Shining, the Luteces and the G-Man all rolled into one.

Appearing and disappearing the minute they're out of sight. Watching from impossible and inaccessible places. Offering cryptic messages and warnings and playing inscrutable games. Talking in unison or completing each other's sentences.

Are they two entities or one? Are they being controlled by Bill directly or do they still have some autonomy? Are they simply puppeted husks or is there still something left of Dipper and Mabel inside them?

So I got to work editing some of this stuff with new ideas. I think I'm happier with these than before, it just took a little bit of thinking.

---Ideals---
Someone will always boast a bigger trophy, tell a better story.
When the most dangerous game is a human, beast, or something else entirely, take it out and make a better world for the hunters to come.
Sometimes the biggest trophy is telling the story of the one who got away.
---Goals---
Zero: Bag a VERY unique trophy. (Cryptid, Alien, Mythical creature)
On-a-Roll: Help found a natural preserve, things are dying left and right and hunting is only going to weaken their numbers.
Hero: Give hunting a much better name than it has. Gaston, McLeach, and Clayton have been giving it a bad name for years, hunters can be heroes, look at the Huntsman.

>Crash-ley: Owner and operator of a fine automobile, out for a leisurely cross-country drive from nowhere in particular to nowhere in particular, looking for adventure along the way.

>Fiona: Picked up hitchhiking along the roadside. Crash didn't want to pick her up, but she just kept appearing further on down the road until he eventually stopped for her.

>Sanda: Met while making a pit-stop at an old abandoned arcade in which an impromptu fight club where he's fighting an eight-on-one match against former Videogame Characters.

>PRO-Tech v0.78: Rescued from being caught by the police for vigilantism and taking the law into his own hands in the city slums in which he found himself after being "analoguised" into the real world.

"No. Absolutely not. It's a death trap!" Sanda said. "I feel like I need a tetanus shot just looking at it."

"It's outdated, out of style, and obsolete in every way." PRO said. "I don't think it could even get beyond speeds of three."

"Huh." Crash said as he put the hood back down, and he drummed his fingers on the tarnished white paint. "Can say it's my style...but..." There was a...feel...to the car. Something that made his eyebrows tingle.

"He's great!" Fiona said, her head shoved up against the front bumper. "I mean, he's a bit of a grumpy old fart...but he's funny! Mr. H says he's still got it, can we just try, Crash?"

"You're kidding." Sanda said.

Crash sighed. "It's a fifty mile walk, otherwise. There's no other car in this junkyard that even remotely works."

"If we must." PRO said.

"Yay! You hear that Mr. H?" Fiona said. "YOU get to come with us!"

The three men all jumped in surprise as the bette let out a long slow wheezing honk. It seemed to give a sarcastic message:

"Lucky me."

King: the 19th Lord of Uranos' Kingdom's Tempest Domain, Drossel Juno Vierzehntes Heizregister Fürstin von Flügel.
The robot Drossel von Flügel sits inside Tempest Tower with her butler Gedächtnis, watching over her domain. She controls Tempest Domain watching over and crushing anyone who goes against her. She is often nonsensical and can seem insane. However, she should not be underestimated. She's a good fighter and is hard to beat.
Land: Tempest Domain.
Tempest Domain is entirely inhabited by robots, all of whom must fulfill Drossel's every need at her command under pain of death. She kills any human who enters the city. There is massive anti-human and pro-robot propaganda The citizens act happy and some are as a result of insanity, No one goes beyond the city walls. As far as anyone knows, there is nothing but desert out there. Only Drossel, Gedächtnis and Schadenfreude know that there are other countries out there and Drossel has opened up relations with the non-human ones. She has a deep hatred of the human countries but has not yet gone to war.
Rule: "I can't see my house from here!"
Drossel has different attitudes towards robots and humans. She will allow robots as long as they obey her every order. Humans are killed on sight. If you attempt to fight her, you will have to work your way through Tempest Tower. There are various robot guards and servants scattered throughout the tower, including a robot monkey like creature by the name of Schadenfreude, not to mention that Drossel is herself a good fighter.

I like the idea of the PCs being able to fool her, her guards and her citizens by painting themselves silver and doing the robot. All will be well as long as they can keep up the android act, and as long as it doesn't rain and wash off their disguises.

>>37348401
>>37348381
Wilson Robbins was his name, right. It's always good to have a wealth of characters to draw inspiration from.

>>37346734
>>37346500
I remember this discussion threads ago. Essentially J.P. Waternoose has perfected his scream extraction machines and has been spiriting children away to power the monster world. These children's sentient Toys are the only ones who realize the truth of what is happening, have spread the word amongst themselves and have mounted something of a guerilla war against the monsters.

It really drives home just how huge a world Gridlock really is. It's every bit as big and complex as Classic even though it only takes place on one continent.

>>37345485
Nice work! I like the voices you've developed for each of the characters. We need more writing going on in these threads. I might try my hand at a first meeting between Crash and Fiona unless someone else wants to give it a whirl. I'll be going ahead on to work so I won't be in a good position to write for a while.

There was talk in earlier threads about Fiona being friendly and optimistic but also spooky and extremely cryptic. There was also something I liked about her constantly sharing stories and facts about her time on the road that were all vaguely horrifying.
>>
>>37349056
>Fiona being friendly and optimistic but also spooky and extremely cryptic.

Don't forget that stat block also seems to indicate that she's a suspicious, inhuman liar too.

She strikes me as that cheerful character that you're not sure whether or not she's going to stab you in the back to further her own agenda.
>>
>>37349056
>Essentially Drossel is really powerful but really childish and dumb, right? Yep.
Don't forget that she also believes in that "charming humanity" legend, so if the players can demonstrate that they really mean no harm and are nice people, she probably won't harm them. In the meantime, she's still at war with humanity.
>>
>>37349559
If anything, the DVV project has introduced me to a lot of interesting media.

So Drossel is capable of being charmed? That's good to know.
>>
Hm.
There's a glaring flaw in the Classic rules that should probably be patched.

We have no actual clarification of what "fear" does. It's mentioned over twelve times but there is no explanation for it. Curious.

>>
>>37349985
>Burning:
Forces the PC to pass a Prevent Harm check with a Target Number of 30 each turn or take one strike of damage. This effect can be countered by the immediate application of water or by stopping, dropping and rolling.

>Blindness:
PCs afflicted with Blindness have their Acrobatics scores reduced to zero and their Prevent Harm scores halved for as long as the effect persists. Nimble Guys and Gals have both their Acrobatics and Prevent Harm scores halved instead.

Ah, that's pretty significant isn't it. I'm not really sure how crafting ought to go but I know hat we've been slowly accruing more powers as the threads have gone in. Baby-sitting isn't usually your kind of job, and the contents of the girl's piggy bank (which you politely refused) isn't your usual pay, but times are tough. An actual roof over your head and what food you could find in the pantry is welcome after weeks on the road, and this armchair is much more comfortable than the backseat of your truck. There was an unnerving earnestness about the way the girl begged to hire you as her “bodyguard” that reminded you of your own daughter years ago- how you had promised her she was safe, tucked her into bed, and never saw her again.

You mostly expected the girl's mother to throw you out, but she staggered in around 9 and promptly passed out on the couch, reeking of alcohol- she didn't even notice you standing there, trying to explain yourself. A single glance was enough to tell you that the two of them are the only occupants of the tiny apartment.
As you tuck the girl in, the memory of finding a child's bed empty flashes across your mind unbidden, and with it the heartache that lingers to this day. You make sure she has her teddy bear and a glass of water, and that her night-light is working. You make sure to check and double-check that all the windows and doors of the apartment are locked before settling into the comfortable reclining chair. You had entertained thoughts of staying awake but it's been a long week and soon your eyelids begin to droop before you drift off to sleep.
>>
>>37366857
Your thankfully dreamless rest is interrupted suddenly as something wet and cold and hard strikes your chest. It takes you a second to realize it's a glass of water- you must have knocked it over in your sleep. On the table sits the girl's teddy bear, distinctive with its stitched stump of an arm- a “battle wound” as the girl explained, and supposedly the reason why you were needed to provide backup. You could swear you tucked the uncreatively named “teddy” in with the girl a few hours ago, maybe she brought it out to keep watch with you? Your half-asleep brain decides that seeing as you're awake now anyway you might as well return it, maybe make her think it's really patrolling.

You are wide awake now. The creature's chameleon-like eyes both swivel to lock with yours as it's long, lizard-like body stands silhouetted against the dim glow of the night light. The girl struggles against the grip of its forelegs. Her mouth is open, clearly trying to scream. Everything is still for a moment in the deep, quiet night. In the distance, you can hear a dog barking.
The creature explodes into motion as it hurls the girl at you and bolts. You manage to catch her, unhurt and are in hot pursuit, throwing yourself against the door with adrenaline pounding in your veins. Something is pushing hard against the other side, but you manage to wedge it open by a few inches. Inside you see the impossible- a huge gallery, bigger than the entire apartment complex you are in. Along the sides are row upon row upon row of doors, with yet more arriving via a track on the ceiling. There are creatures everywhere, they are a riot of fur and scales and tentacles and eye searingly bright colors, with no two alike that you can see.
And there are the children. At least a dozen of them are being held in small cages, tiny hands pulling helplessly against the cold metal bars as they are stacked onto some kind of electric cart. All of them have their mouths open in silent screams.

Your mind, flailing desperately to find anything familiar in a reality that has obviously broken down, senses an odd element to the scene- unease. The creatures eyes dart furtively and they keep their heads low between hunched shoulders. What expressions you can read through their distorted facial features remind you of the men in your old unit when given an order they dread, but do not dare refuse.

Someone is yelling and something heavy thuds against the other side of the door, slamming it shut, and crushing your pinky finger in the process. You try to force it open again, but it is stuck tight. There is a mechanical whirring, grinding noise from the other side, and then the night is quiet again. Light fills your vision- the girl has turned on a lamp. She is clutching the one-armed teddy bear to her chest and looks at you with the thousand-yard stare of a war veteran. Looking back to the pulsing pain in your hand, you realize it is wedged into the closet door, which opens INTO the room, not out. Carefully turning and pulling on the knob, you dully note the clothing and toys in the small closet as blood drips from the remaining two knuckles of your left pinky.

You watch from the window as the garbage man hefts the closet door out of the dumpster and into the back of his truck, and allow yourself a small sigh of relief as the vehicle's hydraulic rams crush the flimsy wood. The girl shifts position slightly, you barely notice the twinge of pain coming from the cotton-stuffed thimble serving as bandage on your finger. The two of you huddle close in the comfortable armchair, watching the sun rise.

The thing is that most of our main contributors (cruch-wise) were only onboard for Classic or are currently involved in the playtest campaign, which presumably severely cuts down their contributions.

>>37375289
Ah, you know, like a doof (not that Doof) I had just imagined that many would have jumped onto Gridlock after Classic was near-complete. It hadnt occured to me that there would be so many contributors that were only interested in the core game. I think that now might be the time to rewrite the OP to reflect the focus on Gridlock content and maybe that might interest a few new posters.

As it is, I'm still working on that potential new DTP story, and have just been bumping while st work to try and keep the thread going till the evening when we see more action around here.
>>
>>37375442
I'm still waiting for Baseballanon...
>>
>>37375317
With the exception of a few Villain Kings in need of statting and some minor mechanics issues the core game, being called "Classic" is done. We've had several artists join our ranks and share their pictures and several writers try their hands at some prose, the main focus being "DTP," or a party of sample characters going on an adventure.

We've begun work on an expansion called "Gridlock," which includes all Disney's modern and futuristic properties like Big Hero 6, the Incredibles and Gravity Falls, though progress is slow going and it seems we've lost a lot of contributors because of the transition combined with the Holiday lull in posting.
>>

Don't make Drossel more villainous and edgy than she is. She just lets her mooks do the genocides and spends her time doing princess stuff because she doesn't really care about that war stuff.

>>37375442
I don't know about the others, but I at least am not sure I could A: stomach the hardship and arguments that comes with starting another million arguments while creating a game and B: actually create this new expansion and stay true to the core material since I have seen absolutely none of the movies associated with this project.

Of course, I'll still hang around, answer questions, etc. It may be for the best to change the OP to represent the focus on Gridlock.

>>
>>37375570
I can see her caring about war stuff, but not really caring about the process.
Something like "get the job done, I don't know how, but get it done."
However, despite her childish and "curious" nature, I can see her as a ruthless bitch when it comes to foreign politics. I don't really see her as a tyranical ruler, but instead a racist (yet capable of changing her mind under the right circumstances) against humans ruler, willing to accept hardware and software into her kingdom happily. However, her childish attitude could lead her to take bad decisions. For instance, if she found out that AUTO treats humans "nicely" and his robots are merely tools, she would instantly shot down all kinds of diplomatic relationships with AUTO. She would be obviously in bad terms with Xanatos and pretty much every human that uses machines as tools/slaves.
>>
>>37377329
What does she think of DOR-15?
>>
>>37377329
I like this interpretation.
>>
>>37377367
She would most likely be in good terms with her, constantly stablishing strategical information and such. However, it'd be one of those "tea parties with knives and guns under the table."
See, both are megalomaniac characters. However, while DOR-15 is a "vengeful megalomaniac full of hate", Drossel is a "childish megalomaniac with too much power."
So, I guess both would be expecting the other one's backstab, and have multiple contingency plans. They pretend to like each other, but DOR-15 hates Drossel's "2royal4u" attitude and her childish view of the world, while Drossel simply doesn't trust her, may be because of the lack of a noble title, or because DOR-15 is a "first-gen" manmade machine.
But overall, I can see them as "careful allies." Something like Russia and North Korea .

Despite the misgivings of most of his passengers, none of them could deny as they sped across the hot, dry emptiness of the BnL Wastes that "Mr. H" performed much more ably than they had anticipated. In fact, he probably performed much more ably than a Volkswagen that had been buried under centuries of junk had any right to, tearing down the ruined highway, dodging potholes and abandoned appliances while leaving a rooster tail of dust and detritus in their wake.

As a native son of the Motorcity, Crash had never been a fan of foreign rides as a matter of principle and pride, but even he had to admit that the old German car felt surprisingly fast and almost supernaturally maneuverable. Driving it felt right in that way he could never explain to non-motorheads and couldn’t quite explain to himself either. Her faith in the Beetle vindicated, Fiona watched the ugly, muted colors of the wasteland fly from the passenger’s seat, gangly arms hung out the open window and chin resting on the sill, the sharp points of those unnerving teeth of her's beginning to poke out from between her lips as she grinned to herself. Meanwhile, PRO and Sanda were locked in the grips of a spirited debate over whose virtual world was the worst that had somehow sprung from an argument over who had deserved more elbowroom in the cramped backseat that they had been forced to share.

Glancing over to the spooky girl beside him, the man behind the wheel motioned with his head to the old radio set into the cobwebby dashboard, saying:

"If you're gonna call shotgun, Fi, you're gonna have to work the radio. Those are the rules of the road, and those rules are just and righteous. Quit starin’ out the window and find us some tunes, will ya?"

“Sure thing!”

The former hitchhiker replied, pulling herself back inside the cab of the car with an awkward, lurching motion. Giving her driver an enthusiastic head-bob and a thumbs-up, she reached for the radio and turned it on with a twist of a knob and a squelch of static that made Crash wince and momentarily silenced the two bickering fighters in the back. Seemingly unaffected by the aural onslaught, Fiona began gleefully twisting knobs and pushing buttons on the dashboard, searching for any music or news stations with transmitters strong enough to reach their little love bug as they traversed the tremendous trash heap that was BUY n’ LARGE’s legacy to the world. As if irked by how energetically the girl went about her task, the crusty white VW let out another one of those irritable, off-tune horn honks which seemed to rein her in a little.

“Sorry Mr. H! I’ll be more careful!”

She said with a toothy but apologetic smile, eliciting a snort from the man beside her as she resumed her channel-scan with a more ginger hand.

“Let’s see… Nothing… Nothing yet Crash… Nothing… Nothing… More nothing! Not even any backmasked messages or phantom voices in the static! I was hoping for a numbers station or maybe some Elvis or---“

Whatever Fiona was about to add to that list next was cut off as her random radio tuning brought the sound of a woman’s coughing , spluttering, saying one word in perfect, crystal clarity before it was swallowed up by static again:

“…help…”

Dis is all I have so far as I've been writing it in bits and pieces while at work. I was tempted to wait to post it until I had more, but wanted to give the thread SOMETHING to build on while we wait for more contributors in the evening.

Dis is also gon be where I need to make a decision on who it is that's just called out for help. Both my top picks involve Axiom Fatty Robin Wilson and a robotic helper, statted out as Charming and Smart, respectively. In one pick the robot has the pre-programmed woman's voice. In the other, the name "Robin Wilson" would be applied to a female passenger of the Axiom who has a male ro-buddy, still statted as Charming and Smart, respectively.

Is the start of this story on 1d4chan?
>>

I'm not sure what you mean. I've just started writing it.

Any preferences for what comes next or who the mystery woman is? I'd like to continue if I can find the time, or I could even leave things as-is and let the next storyteller in line continue on where I left off.

>"Do you know Princess Vanellope?"
>"Who?"
>"Vanellope Von Schweetz? From Sugar Rush? It's the only game I had growing up, so I was wondering if my favorite racer was still around. Those bug things sound nastier than mutant rats."
>"I've never actually visited Sugar Rush. All I know is that the refugees from Litwak's Arcade are being directed by King Candy."
Crash stops the Volkswagen at the side of the road to take in this new information.
>"...Who the hell is King Candy?"

I have a idea, can't someone hook up a copy of dawn of war and send in the WAAAGH! It would take some hacking but it could work.

Well in some retrospect they are, but if they nom gorgutz then now we have a cybug gorgutz. Now that is not something you want to see..plus orks would be in the gaming world permanently then. Spores bitch.
>>
>>37379879
All it would make is a bigger mess, cyborg orks might still create spores and make more cybug orks. However if their still orks but with cybug bodies...yup, the arcade is fucked. Well, more fucked than it was.

Hey folks, what's up?

I haven't been on these threads ever since christmas, so I probably missed a fuckload of stuff. When I last left we only had three hunters left to stat to get the first patch done, but people seemed to be already moving into the Gridlock expansion.

What changed?

News of my death has been greatly exagerated, I escaped with mostly just brain damage and lets be honest I wasn't using those parts of my brain anyway.

>>37383736
We are doing work on both at more or less the same time, King Fergus was written up at the beginning of this thread leaving us with just Amos Slade and McLeah to be done, I believe someone is working on McLeah though. We sstill need to clean mechanics up of course but people are eager to get into Gridlock and ultimately it's better to have work done on something rather than nothing(before we started up on Gridlock we were starting to slow down even more as we got into parts of the system that not a lot of people really know how to contribute toward such as King stating.

I think I'm gonna delve back into the archives I feel relatively certain that SOMEONE statted up Joanna the Goanna which could be a big help to getting McLeah done

I'm perpetually lurking for classic discussion or useful things to do.
>>
>>37384100
Sverd, why not make up some songs for each classic villain. Sort of like Prince Ali Reprise, but with them boasting about their great feats
>>
>>37384984
Oh man, that's a lot. I've already done songs about Frollo (Quite a few), Maleficent, Ursula, and Elsa (Probably too many here), but there's still a LOT of villains I haven't even touched. I might write some stuff up at some point and post it if we focus back on classic for a while.
>>
>>37385053
Hmmm. Well, fluff wise, the setting is pretty much finished. Any ideas for the villains? Maybe some more fluff for Shan Yu, Santa anna, or Khan?

Oogie Boogie. We mostly know what's going on in Boogietown, but how does one send players there to interact with the Bug Day King?

I just added The Man (from this thread - http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/37120364/ ) to the to-do list on the wiki and added a paragraph about him to the King/Land/Rule page.

Well... First, I'd like to imagine Oogie taking over the Seven Holidays, and his "corporeal" form being the massive garbage monster from the video game. He sends his shadow around the world during the holidays to cause terror with his bugs and skeletons, he also uses the opportunity to infiltrate bugs to check what the kings are up to.
In order to enter any of the Holiday Lands, one must find the Hinterlands and the seven Wooden Doors. The Hinterlands don't really have a geographical location. They appear randomly in any forest, and are more prone to pop up in misty and snowy woods. The Hinterlands will open to anyone confused, curious and reflective enough to wander into the forest with good intentions, usually for meditation or self-discovering. Sadly, the Hinterlands are constantly raided by Oogie's minions. Bugs and giant Skeletons equally, so it's not a safe place.
>>
>>37385851
What are the Seven Holidays? I know there's Halloween, Christmas and Easter, but what are the other four?
>>
>>37385901
St Patrick's Day, Thanksgiving, St Valentine's and 4th of July, IIRC.

Someone needs to start a new thread and I am indisposed at the moment. I'm sorry!
