Hey everyone, sorry for the very very long delay but my holidays weren’t very conducive to running, I have an active family life and I needed some time to myself. Also, I’m announcing that we’re very definitely in the end game of the quest, probably no more than 10-15 threads left. I need to end this before it explodes into a thousand pieces or my writing slows down so much we can’t get anything done because of too many people. Now that all the sad crap is out of the way, let’s have fun!

You are John Galt and you are in yet another very awkward situation. The first and most urgent point of order is the rather shocked and mildly angry looking small blonde German girl, (Not Chris), with a ridiculously long name that you always forget who is pointing at you and just let out an exclamation that could turn things bad fast. The second point of order is that the landlady of the Inn, who is standing close by, is the same one that Karasuba was about to fight in the dream world and if you remember correctly she’s scary powerful and doesn’t like fighting. Thirdly, there is a large group of girls that have walked in behind Witzergarble and are staring at the tableau with marked interest. Finally, the strangely powerful girl that Chris and Tatsuko know is also watching, possibly to see if she can get in a fight with you right now.

Your girls are of course watching, only Kaname knows who she is and she doesn’t seem to be willing to poke the big red button of starting a confrontation.

What do you do?

Your brain, finding itself completely unable to make a workable solution out of the many variables involved in this situation, decides to go with its normal plan of attack; Complete and utter lack of care about the realities of the situation and into complete ridiculousness.

Before you know it, you find yourself striding toward Sayn-Wittgenstein, funny time to remember her name, with your arms wide open.

“Hey you yourself!” you say, your long legs and quick motions bringing you up to her in seconds, shocking everyone as you sweep her into a giant hug and spinning her around. The girl lets out a squeak as you do so, starting to struggle even as you spin her around. It only takes a few spins before you start to feel a little dizzy, so you stop and set her down.

Everyone in the room is staring at you, including the landlady. Deciding that you need a good story to finish up your deception, you pat the girl on the head and smile at everyone.

“This,” you say in a slightly over loud voice, “Is Heinrike Prinzessin zu Sayn-Wittgenstein. She happens to be an old old friend of mine.”

“I…what!” the girl exclaims at you.

“John,” says Kaname, “Are you serious?”

“Yep,” you say as you feel your power subtly twisting reality in the past, “It took me awhile but the Princess and I met way back, when we were both about five or so. My parents took a vacation to Germany and I went with them. We met in a park one day after she’d snuck out and we played together for a whole week. Can’t say I’m surprised she forgot me though, she never did get my name right.”

Heinrike stares at you like you have two heads for a minute, before something apparently clicks.

“YOU!” she says again, though this time is much more shock than anger, “That was you!?”

“Yep, that was me; there are some pictures of us somewhere in my parent’s basement that I remember seeing a couple times.”

The girl seems surprised by this and goes to sit down, apparently in a daze. This lets you turn around to the other group of girls and give them a smile.

“Sorry about that,” you say, “We just hadn’t seen each other in forever and I had to greet her. Please, have a seat.”

With that you turn around and take your own seat, everyone else slowly starting their conversations back up around you. As you settle in, the landlady sets a plate of food down in front of you, along with many more somehow appearing in front of everyone else.

“Thanks for the food,” says the Headmistress, followed somewhat clumsily by everyone else. As you start to dig in you find yourself eating faster after only a few bites as you recognize the taste of a fellow master of the culinary arts.

“So, John,” asks Kaname as she eats next to you, “How much bullshit did you just pull on us and that poor girl?”

“Only a little,” you say, food disappearing much faster than you’d like.

“Hmm,” says Kaname before going back to her food.

Looking down at your plate, you find that you’re already done. Across the way is one of the new girls, one of the blonde ones. She seems to be only poking at her plate.

>Ask her why she isn’t eating, this is clearly delicious.

In the beginning Guide created the story and the quest. Now the quest was formless and empty, NPCs were over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of Guide was hovering over the words.
And Guide said, "Let there be waifus," and there were waifus. Guide saw that the waifus were good, and he seperated the waifus from the NPCs.

“Hey,” you say to the girl across from you, “It’s really good, don’t you like it?”

The girl looks up at you, seemingly surprised at your attention. “Uhm…” she says, apparently not the most talkative girl.

“Ah, Kongo!” says the brown haired girl next to her, turning at the sounds of your voices, “You need to eat!” She leans over and takes a big bite of food and stuffs it into the blonde girl’s mouth. Turning to you, she gives you a really big smile. “Sorry, we’re not from around here and Kongo is really nervous about trying new things.”

The other girl makes a face as she nearly chokes on the food in her mouth, before she clears her throat and manages to speak. “I am not nervous,” she says in a voice that clearly indicates she’s lying through her teeth, “I just like to take things slowly.”

“Muu, don’t be like that Kongo,” says the girl, “If you’re like that then we’ll have to wait forever to do anything and nobody likes that.”

“I am not like anything!” says the blonde one, “I’m just me, there’s nothing wrong with that.”

Hm. There seems to be an interesting dynamic going on between the new girls, as several of the others are watching the ongoing conversation.

>Bring some of them into the conversation, ask them what’s up.

Glancing at the two in front of you, you turn your head to the ones next to them, who are also looking at the two who are still bickering.

“Are they always like that?” you ask, even as your brain kicks in again and informs you that one of them definitely has blue hair and the other has a very light shade of hair that could either be blue or white.

“Yes,” says the actually blue one, who is definitely the more grown up of the two, “Kongo never wants to try anything and we never get to go anywhere because of her. I just want to get out and try new things!”

“Takao,” says the little one, “I think he was talking about how Maya and Kongo were acting, not that we don’t get to go anywhere.”

“Oh,” says the girl, Takao, “Well, yes, Maya always tries to get Kongo to do new things. She usually wins but it takes forever.”

“Ah,” you say, looking over to the pair where the brunette has finally managed to get the blonde to start eating herself, “You seem to be an interesting group.”

“Well we’re still in the process of learning about hu…” starts the blue haired girl before she apparently gets kicked under the table by her smaller friend, “I mean, about new people.”

Hmm, strange.

“Sure, go get ready, I’ll be right behind you,” you say to her, to which she nods.

Turning to the other group, you smile lightly at them. “If you’re looking to do something new, we’re all going out to the beach, you’re welcome to join us.”

“The beach?” asks the blue haired girl, “With swimsuits?”

“Well I’d assume so,” you say, “Unless you didn’t want to for some reason.”

“No, uhm, I mean yeah, we’ll be there!” she says excitedly.

“Takao…” says the girl beside her, before being shushed as you walk out of the room and head to yours, ready to go swimming. You get changed quickly, putting on a light shirt and changing into your swim trunks before grabbing a beach bag and a few towels along with sunscreen. Heading down the stairs you find that you’re apparently the first one down. Deciding to go get set up, you head down to the beach along the path behind the Inn.

Reaching the beach you discover that it is the good kind, with fine sand that doesn’t seem to blow too much along with gently rolling waves and not too many people around. Setting up an umbrella that you grabbed from the back deck of the Inn, you lay out your towels just in time to hear a muted gasp come from the people around you. That would more than likely be your girls.

Turning, even you have to do a double take at the massed sight of attractive females behind you.

Kaname, Akeno and Chris are in white bikinis, Kaname and Akeno’s pure white while Chris has some blue trim along the edges of hers.
Tatsuko, Akitsu and Karasuba are in tight one pieces, Karasuba and Akitsu's are straight black while Tatsuko’s is black with blue and white trim.
Mehisha, Melodiana and Ragsmuena are also in one piece suits, mostly blue, while Elizasleyn is wearing a very small red bikini.
Nanoha, Imca and Riela, are in bikinis, yellow, sporty red and black and reddish pink respectively.
Arguably the most surprising ones are Kaede, Selvaria and the Headmistress. All of them are wearing bikinis, but they also have on sarongs to go with them. Kaede’s is pink with a light yellow sarong that just covers her hips. Selvaria’s is black, with a long black sarong that covers most of her hips and contrasts nicely with her pale skin. Finally, the headmistress is the most shocking. Not only is she wearing a bikini, it’s a nice light floral pattern with a matching sarong that comes down to her thighs, along with a flower in her hair.

As they approach, you blink getting your wits back.

“So, John,” asks Akeno as they approach, the others grinning, “What do you think?”

“I feel like I’ve died a little bit and gone to heaven,” you say at the assembled group, “But I also think that we need a beach or hot tub at the house so I can enjoy this a little more.”

This gets you various assorted blushes and smiles from the group, sometimes both, with an interesting looking one from the headmistress.

“Speaking of which,” says, Elizasleyn, “You’re overdressed.”

Glancing down, you realize that you’re still wearing your shirt. Giving the angel a small smirk, you reach down and peel off your shirt. You feel very similar to when you stripped in the dojo, with more shots and plenty of sweat flinging off of you in an over dramatic manner. Luckily most of them have already seen you like this, except Selvaria who turns an interesting shade of pink.

With that accomplished, the girls begin to spread out, laying blankets out and setting up more umbrella’s around the scattered chairs sitting on the beach. It only takes a few minutes, but you can already hear a few whispers around you since you’re the only guy.

You hear the sound of feet behind you, so you turn to get another eyeful of attractive female, this bunch some that you haven’t seen before. Somehow they managed to get the one blonde, Kongo, into a nice looking bikini, with most of the rest of them joining her in a variety of two pieces plus or minus some frills and length of the top or bottom.

“Nice of you to join us,” you say to Takao, the one who seem to be the most talkative.

“We managed to convince Kongo,” she says, glancing at the blonde who seems to be mildly aggravated at everything, “Iona, Kirishima and Haruna wanted to come anyway.” She gestures to the other blue hair, another brunette and the other blonde.

Those names…no, it couldn’t be.

Can we really wrap this up in 15 threads, with a villain who hasn't even shown his face yet? Feels rushed.

But you already met the villain.

“So uhm…” you say trying to bring up the fact that they all seem to be named after warships up tactfully, “Are your parents all history buffs or something?”

“What?” says Takao, blinking a little bit, “Why would you ask that?”

“Well, it’s just that you all have some…unique names,” you say, to which Takao blinks.

“What do you mean?” she asks, even as the other blonde is muttering to her brunette friend.

“Well, you’re all named after warships right? That’s pretty unique,” you say.

“Takao…” says the smaller girl, pulling on her arm.

“Well, the answer to that is simple!” says Takao, apparently oblivious or ignoring the smaller girl.

“Takao…” says the other blonde.

“We are warships!” she says, proudly standing upright and thrusting her chest out.

“You are…what?” you say to her.

“Takao!” says the girl behind her, pulling her ponytail down with all of her weight, causing her to squawk.

“Sorry,” says the little girl, dragging Takao away by her hair, “She gets excited sometimes, we’ll talk later!”

With that, the six of them move away, with Takao still being drug behind the much smaller girl.

Huh, sometimes you don’t get this world at all.

Alright guys, calling it here.

An ok run for nearly a month back, but still needs some work and more thorough planning if I want to get this done.

Sorry for the wonky times and stuff too, I'll try to get a schedule set back up, school starts next week. Hope to see you soon.

Its not you, its the choices that were made. I was expecting Prinzessin to just be the short angry person that we would ignore or something, and then suddenly she's a long lost childhood friend.
I just want to hear their reasoning on this because I cannot for the life of me understand why anyone would vote for this outcome.
I know that people will fanatically tear into each other over a character at the slightest provocation, but this is just confusing.

>I just want to hear their reasoning on this because I cannot for the life of me understand why anyone would vote for this outcome.

It seemed like the most hilarious option.
>>
>>37267229

Well, Guide gave the option. I wasn't there for the vote, but I wouldn't have voted that way.
>>
>>37267229
I wasn't there for that vote but it seemed like the best way to defuse the situation. There were a LOT of ways we could have lit the dynamite considering who was in the room, best to just have a nice meal and meet the battleships. Save the fireworks for later when we're somewhere we can make giant craters in the ground without pissing off scary landlady.

Plus when you mess with the universe it has a tendency to mess with you, that was just the first encounter.

I know I'm late to the thread, but BATTLESHIPS! FINALLY!
Guide you're amazing!

I found it was pretty out-of-character, and very strange context of the Quest.

We could have just said "hello. Let's not bring animosity here, I doubt the owner and the majority of my friends would like the results."
>>
>>37268206
Naw that would be a little out of character. Our standard procedure when faced with danger is to give no fucks and or while doing something ridiculous and implausible. We're probably just out of practice, it HAS been a while.
>>
>>37268206
I feel it was out of character because we directly modified someones past. This after our whole speal of "you are who you are" and "I'll let you choose your own destiny" stuff. Its not a big enough deal to call for a retcon or anything, but it is an odd choice.
>>
>>37268509
I have to agree. As someone who only caught up at the end, that vote left me feeling kinda scummy, and I wish I'd been able to cast mine against it.
>>
>>37268377

> Our standard procedure when faced with danger is to give no fucks and or while doing something ridiculous and implausible

We should have hidden our face with a marvelous beard

>>37268509

Well, I don't want to be a jerk to Guide, but this bother me now.

Heck, we changed someone's past conciously, which is not only completly against what John Galt is about, but we also did this for pretty much no reason.

That's true, but we changed our past as much as hers. I'm sure there will be consequences down the line. And like I said earlier, we just delayed that situation and didn't defuse it. She still hates our guts.

Just bring it up next thread and we can discuss it with Guide. Or maybe he'll be able to comment here, it's not like this thread is near sage or anything.

Have more swimsuits.

Thanks for running! Shame I missed the thread though.

>>37268713
Hey guys. Been watching a little bit, sorry about the votes. But its not changing the past, you've changed nothing about her directly.

Think of it more like taking advantage of the lack of back story for both you and her.

That's how I think of it at least. Not saying the way you see it is wrong, but then we'd be getting into the morality of the whole story.
>>
>>37270353

So in fact we just bullshitted the backstory of a fellow sapient character, and she just played along?
>>
>>37270444
You have to remember, most characters in this world are soulless actors. Even the non-sapient ones to a degree. We are the protagonist, just being near us and interacting with us is what makes these characters alive. If princess wasn't here at the resort with us she would probably be idling in timeskip limbo.

Odds are until we brought it up Princess probably didn't even have a childhood, and neither did we.
