Kazuma seems to get it immediately, but begins to panic as he lifts off the ground. He flails and falls forward onto his face.

Billy begins to rise into the air, though he can't seem to get as high as Haya.

Haya stops going up, and tries moving forward. It's slow, but she is able to control the direction she travels in. She seems positively ecstatic as she starts going a little faster.

Kazuma, now seeming to understand that what he's doing won't kill him, starts rising into the air, passing Billy and flying after Haya.

Billy watches them fly around and yells to them.

"No fair! Wait for me!" he shouts, pushing himself after them.

You stay back and watch. Soon, your friends are zipping through the sky, laughing and smiling, and just having a wonderful time.

It will probably not be everything you hope for, but so long as you think of it as "The exact same fighting system as every other dragon ball z game but with more emphasis on the created character" you should be fine. Stamina guage and transformations seem like they might not work out well but you won't know until you try it.

There are a ton of videos of the beta on youtube. Unfortunately most of them are people being really incompetent and nowhere near the level of that webm. There have also been a few interviews and some livestreams too I think. Also a lot of con appearances (at least in japan).
Also the voice actors for Yamcha and Tien make the characters talk shit to each other in a few easter eggs they're not sure if they made it in.
