LAST TIME ON GEASS QUEST: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/37024042/

Thread times and updates posted here: https://twitter.com/Crosswire

Rules and Mechanics: http://pastebin.com/J8ehewqf

Your name is Shirley Fenette and your mission to secure Ashford Academy for evacuation has just got a lot more complicated thanks to being shot down.

The landing was rough, banging up your cockpit and flat out crushed the float system on the Lancelot Club’s back. You don’t have time to check the full extent of the damage as you scoop the Club’s VARIS rifle out of the dirt and yank back hard on a switch on your dashboard, ejecting the mangled mechanical remnants of the Float System from the Club before turning to face the enemy.

They rush out of the dark towards you like skittering demons, moving with remarkable speed on all fours despite not using landspinners. At first there was only one, but they soon multiplied to seven when others burst out from black tarps that hid them view mere moments before. Their white bodies are illuminated softly in the pale moonlight and their green eyes have an ominous, almost ghostly glow to them that leaves faint after images as they dash forward.

You still have no idea what they are, but if you had to take an uneducated guess they seem to be some kind of Knightmare...

Gunfire rings out before you can put any more thought into just what your enemy is, reminding you that whoever they are they’re working for Zero and need to DIE. Thinking quickly, you consider your equipment and decide the best course of action..

Thrashing the controls, you turn around and flee from the charging horde of insects as they begin to open fire on you with some manner of rapid fire coilgun. They spread out and speed up, their limps bouncing up and down off the ground as they attempt to close the distance between you and them, all the while you look for somewhere you can take cover.

Your eyes dart from building to building, desperately searching for some measure of sanctity that wouldn't potentially be risking the lives of your friends. The nearby dorms are quickly ruled out and hiding behind the assembly hall seems like an all but surefire way to kill someone. It's then you spot it off in the distance, the place where you spent many afternoons and late nights practicing, the pool hall.

It seems unlikely that anyone would be hiding or kept in the pool hall, so you make a beeline for the building as the white machines begin to gain on you. They open fire with wild abandon, forcing you to strafe wildly in the hopes of evading their fire, making the wound in your chest sting and surge with pain.

The pain induces nothing but anger from you and after noticing the how far you and the enemies were from the buildings, you remember the two chaos mines you're carrying...

Holstering the VARIS rifle on the Club's rear hardpoint beside the revolving blade, you take the two cynlinders of death and spin around, using the momentum of the spin to chuck the two grenades as hard as you can above the approaching swarm of enemies...

The grenades spin through the air and halt in their arc above the charging insectoids, bursting open and dropping curtains of armor piercing shrapnel down onto the ground below.

Speeding up in preparation for the fall of the explosives, two of the white Knightmares scurry straight into the Chaos Grenades cone of fire. It makes you laugh out loud upon seeing the frames of the machines flayed to pieces by the ear rending spray of shrapnel spat down from above.

"AGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH-"

Much to your delight you hear the scream of one of the pilots come in over the radio, the Club's advanced sensors automatically detecting and feeding you close range enemy communications.

"Damn it! What is this thing? He said there would only be one machine and maybe some Sutherlands!"

"Fuck the order to avoid damage to the school, let's just kill this thing!"

You hear the pilots hatred for you and it merely gets your heart racing with excitement as they open fire with their coilguns, firing on you in unison as you continue to move towards the pool hall.

You raise Club’s arms and activate the Blaze shields, deploying two green glass-like shields that begin deflecting or outright tanking the coilgun fire thrown your way. Gasps of confusing come over the enemy communications channel and the white machines slow down their pursuit, fearful of any other tricks you might have while continuing to fire on you.

Arriving at the pool hall, you dive behind building, hearing the peppering of accelerated metal on stone and plaster as you do so. Standing up you draw out the VARIS rifle and drop the Club against the nearest wall, keeping your eyes peeled for the enemy while getting on the radio.

“Suzaku where the hell are you?” You shout angrily over the airwaves, hearing nothing in reply.

“Suzaku I know you can hear me! This isn’t the time to take things slowly, I’m under attack by five machines and-”

“Kuu, Suzaku’s IFF signal has disappeared.” Cecile replies with an abrupt suddenness that makes you jump.

“What? Does that mean he’s…” You check the IFF detector and find no friendly IFF’s anywhere on the screen, meaning ether none are functioning in your range or none are functioning at all.

“Perhaps.” Lloyd’s voice butts in on the conversation. “But I think that the Lancelot was merely disabled, lured into more of Rakshata’s Gefjun Disturbers…”

“Gef-what?” You ask, a quiver of fear running through you as you realize you might very well be fighting by yourself.

“In short they’re devices that disable the reactions necessary for a Yggdrasil Drive to work. Meaning any Knightmare caught within their field will be rendered powerless and disabled.” Cecile says.

“Yes, truly an excellent way to avoid fighting a superior machine.” Lloyd’s voice just oozes with sarcasm and bitterness as he speaks and you hear the thrashing limbs of the white machines over the Club’s external audio pick up.

“So what do I need to do?”

“If the Black Knights haven’t killed Suzaku already, your best bet is to just destroy the Disturbers or whatever’s powering them. Once the field they produce is gone, the Lancelot should be able to run again without any problems.” Lloyd states.

"Be careful Kuu, try to avoid letting the enemy push or lure you somewhere specific. Once you're inside the field your Knightmare will shut down immediately." Cecile warns as you think on what to do next.

You're now fighting alone, unable to fly back to the Avalon with Suzaku having been disabled somewhere on the school property. Five enemies are closing in on you and it seems unlikely that they're alone.

You could activate your sensors and try the area for any signs of the trap that caught Suzaku, but that might give the bugs enough time to rush you while you're hiding behind cover.

Alternatively you could just rush around the property in search of him, but that could potentially lead to you running into the same trap or even more enemies.

What will you do Shirley?

Despite the enemy being so close you decide that the risk is worth learning where the trap and potentially the rest of the enemies in the area are. With the flip of the switch the Clubs shoulders open up, deploying two eye like orbs that begin to pulse and ebb, filling your screen with a flood of information as you turn and survey the area through the walls of the pool hall.

The flood of information doesn’t seem so confusing now and you’re able to sort through the wall of text and color that fills your screen.

On the infrared scale you the five white Knightmares through the walls of the pool hall, moving slowly and beginning to surround you, two on your left, two on your right, and one climbing onto the roof.

Past them you see a large number of heat sources in and around the central building of Ashford Academy, where most of the classrooms and the student council room is. The ones outside are large and lunky, having a similar shape to the “Burai” Knightmares you’ve hacked up time and time again. The smaller ones inside are definitely people, but the stationary nature of a large number of them makes you realize that not all of them are students.

It’s difficult to be sure, but it seems like the Black Knights are inside the school. Your check on the radio wave sensor seems to indicate this to the true, as a large number of communications are going to and from equipment somewhere inside of the school.

When you switch over to the EM spectrum of your sensors you get nothing but incoherencey and confusion in regards to information. Something in the area is producing a lot of interference, with the interference being the strongest in the direction of the tennis courts.

After getting all the information you have, you find yourself surrounded, with the bug like machines moving closer and closer to you from every side. They haven't turned the corners yet and don't know that you can see them, but it's only a matter of time before they attack.

You could make a break for it and try to find Suzaku, or you could whip out the VARIS and try to destroy these enemies here and now. No one is in the pool hall and you doubt this rifle will be stopped stone and plaster walls between you and the enemy.

You don't have a specific location of where the interference is originating from, just a direction. You could blindly fire that way, but you'll have about as much chance as hitting the source of the problem as you do hitting Suzaku and the Lancelot.

Despite not having ever fired this weapon before your shots fly surprisingly true. You first one merely grazes the Knightmare on the roof, scorching off a part of it’s head by leaving it otherwise intact. Your second shot however is deadly but precise, blasting off the cockpit of one of the bugs on your left and causing the crawling machine to come to a sudden stop, slumping to the ground almost completely intact.

Your third and forth shots hit the enemy directly, blasting apart a bug each and leaving your left side clear of enemies. Your last shot on the Knightmare on your right misses completely however and the remaining enemies rush forward, now fully aware of your ability to attack them through the walls. The one above you makes it to the root top edge and begins firing down on you, forcing you to leap out of the way and distracting you long enough for the other remaining Knightmare to come charging around the corner.

In the blink of an eye the bug like machine transformed, it's insect like body shifting into a more traditional human shape, limbs and land-spinners hit the ground as it sprints at you with a pair of odd blunt looking weapons...

The charging Knightmare goes straight for your rifle and you see that almost immediately as it launches itself at you. You leap out of the way and throw your landspinners into reverse, with the white machine's odd melee weapon glancing off the Club's right arm and taking a chunk of the paint with it.

Moving backwards the rooftop Knightmare fires on you once more and the white Knightmare takes another swing at your V.A.R.I.S, coming that much closer to crushing the prototype rifle in your hands..

There's only two enemies left, but for all you know they have friends coming to help them, that EM interference might have hide more then just the location of the trap from your sensors.

You could turn and run in search of Suzaku, or you could stay and fight in spite of the threat of enemy backup.

Your VARIS could make short work of these enemies, but they seem all too aware of the weapon's power now and seem to be specifically gunning for it now. You could holster it and go into melee, but these machines seem unusually prepared for close quarters combat and you haven't seen what their humanoid forms are capable of.

Eager to fight and not get chased down and killed, you quickly holster the VARIS before it can get smashed and remove the Mauser Vibration Blades from their holsters. At first the pair of short swords you draw out have slim, dull blades but with a press of a button they seem to thicken and take on a blood red hue that makes you grin at the implications.

The bug on top of the pool hall rooftop gives you no time to appreciate the blades color and sprays it's coilgun at you, forcing you to begin dodging as the now humanoid bug on the ground begins throwing itself at you, swinging it's tonfa's and putting it's entire body weight behind the swings.

You block the swing and actually take chunks out of the Tonfa's as they scrape against the reddened blades of your swords, but the blow throws the Club off balance from the force behind it and you nearly take a couple of shots to the cockpit because of it.

Priming one of your slash harkens for firing, you shift out of reverse and charge, MVS blades raised and slash harken ready to fire...

I was specifically asked me at the start of the thread not to bother asking for the modifiers and have been taking unmodified rolls with entire thread so far. Sorry guys, but I'm not gonna change that now on account of a stray 100.

I will take the 75 since modifier or not it's the third roll.

Throwing up the Club’s arm you fire off a slash harken and hit the rooftop Knightmare directly through the midsection, splitting joints and crushing hydraulics as the wired blade punches through the top of the Knightmare and goes out through the front. Finding your harken stuck you tug back on the line, grinding your landspinners against the ground and pulling the bug off the roof, sending it crashing to the ground in a broken heap.

The fall is a small one in comparison to the size of the machine, but it's enough to break your harken free and allow you to reel it in. You're reeling in your line however when the humanoid bug Knightmare rushes up to you and instead of attacking you directly, grabs the line with one of it's now free hands and pulls back on it as hard as it can. It's a sharp, abrupt tug filled with animosity and rage, and sends you staggering forward.

Instead of swinging at you with it's tonfa it throws it aside and throws a punch at you.

A punch with it's bare hand.

The act surprises you and your left wondering what to do. You could activate the blaze shield on your free arm to block the hit, but it's only a punch. Alternatively you could try to deflect or slash the punch with one of the MVS blades you have, but maybe the pilot is a martial artist and you're falling into some kind of predicable take-down move.

What do you wish to do Shirley?

For now, anyway. Give it a year or two and we could have them. Soon enough everyone has miniaturized hadron cannons. Which is why I'd ideally like to get a Gefjun Disturber installed in our suit. In addition to the jamming properties, they also block hadron cannon shots. They're cool tech.

You’re tempted to just take the punch and stab the bastard of a machine where it hurts, but something about his movements makes you feel that something is very wrong with the punch. If your friends had just been killed and you were acting out of anger, you’d do far more then just try to punch someone’s Knightmare. Moving as fast as you can, you try to use the momentum given to your machine from the pull forward to drift into a slide, ether to just avoid the punch of fully circle around the Knightmare and maybe entangle him in your still unraveled harken line.

Hands gripping the controls you do your best to avoid the attack and get the leg up on your enemy…

It's possible to shield the suit equipped with it from its effects. The Gawain, for example, has a built in Gefjun Disturber and it works just fine. Better than it would without one, actually, due to its hadron cannons being prototypes the shots tend to to bloom and scatter without the Disturber to restrict the particles' motions.

Throwing the Club’s left leg forward and lifting the right, you hit the brakes on your landspinners and veer as hard to the left as you can. You don’t use the momentum given to you as well as you could have and only end up on the white Knightmare’s left side instead of behind hit, however you do manage to narrowly dodge it’s attack which turns out to be far more than a simple punch.

A mere instance before the punch would have hit you, the bug Knightmare’s entire hand folded back and a razor sharp blade shot forward from a hidden compartment inside it’s arm. The force and length of the hidden blade sent shivers down your spin, making you realize that if you’d been hit in the torso by that blade it would have gone all the way into your cockpit…

Taken aback by your sudden maneuver, you’re able to take the surprised pilot by surprise, chopping the enemy Knightmare’s legs off with a swing sweep of your MVS blade and beheading it with a flick of the Club’s wrist.

The headless and legless torso crashes to the ground, giving you a brief moment to ponder on what to do. If you wait too long the pilot could call for backup, if they hadn’t already. Alternatively you could cut the pilot out of the cockpit and try to pry information out of him under the threat of crushing him. Or you could just kill him and take some brief satisfaction before moving on.

What do you wish to do?

As tempting as it is to tear him out of the cockpit and crush him in your hands like a packet of ketchup, you realize his cries for help will surely draw the enemy away and most likely leave wherever Suzaku is undefended or at the least under defended.

You move quickly and as quickly as one can while in a Knightmare, sticking close to the building and keeping your profile as low as you can as you make your way in the direction of the tennis courts. It’s a quiet, but nerve wracking journey where you’re constantly wondering if the enemy is going to leap out of the dark at you or pop out from around the corner and stab you in the back.

Eventually you make it to the tennis courts and spy the Lancelot almost immediately. It’s near the light wooded area that was left on the school campus for recreational purposes. Surrounding it are a handful of men and two Burai, one of which appears to be holding some kind of blow-torch and is trying, and failing, to cut it’s way into the cockpit.

It’s difficult to see in the dark, but surrounding the Lancelot is a circle of odd disk shaped devices all connected together by thick lines of cable. These are undoubtedly the Gefjun Disturbers Lloyd mentioned, but you can’t see the power source anywhere.

You seem to have gone unnoticed, what do you wish to do?

If the Lancelot needs to be surrounded, that means we can probably at least weaken the field by destroying some. Especially if they're linked in series, then they'll all go down. Faster than hunting for the power source, and attacking the Knightmares directly is too risky. They're probably shielded. We're not.

Not wanting to risk being detected by the Burai or failing to disable the Disturbers by merely attacking them, you leave in search of the power source, spying some of the cables running from the circle of Gefjun Disturbers and off into the woods. You move quickly and dart into the woods before any of the men surrounding the Lancelot can notice you. The woods aren’t thick, but the darkness helps you stay hidden and your night vision sensors make it all the easier to find and follow the cables.

After a minute or so of searching you find the cables running to a generator in the woods, tucked away and unguarded probably made to be as hidden as the trap was supposed to be initially. Just as you wonder how Suzaku could have fallen into the trap in the first place, a voice rings out above you.

“Do I have to do everything myself?”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jm-WCSGW674

Your stomach turns into a knot as you recognize the voice and spin around to see two near blinding streak of red sweeping towards you. Spinning the Lancelot Club to the side, you crash into several trees and only narrowly avoid the crimson red beams that slice deep cuts into the ground and disintegrate the trees they hit.

Looking up you see a fearsome black and gold Knightmare floating in the air looking down on you with a pair of slanted purple eyes that bring to your mind a picture of a devil. When the pilot speaks that image is only cemented and your hands begin to tremble.

"I wasn't expecting Suzaku to have a partner, but I'm willing to admit I'm wrong when I can correct those mistakes myself."

You're barely able to move a muscle, your mind suddenly feels like it's jelly, and the way your heart is pounding in your chest you wouldn't be surprised if it was on the verge of exploding. The Lancelot Club stands stock still, just staring up at the Black Knightmare of Zero himself.

Ok Shirley time to laugh then "You know I never ran into when I ruined your plan for the attack, I thought I stopped you at the expense of my revenge. I'd never guess you turned the princess. Did you use the technique that destroyed my memories to convert her? I guess it doesn't matter Zero, without Kallen here you a deadman either way!" Then through up ECM hard.

After a minute of waiting in utter shock, Zero speaks down to you.

“Well? What’s it going to be? Unlike you I have important things to do, and I’m being rather generous in not killing you this instant.”

With the flip of the switch you activate the ECM system, blocking any and all communications for a good 150 meters.

After that you activate the speakers and just bark into them, practically spitting as you talk, your entire body practically convulsing, though whether or not it’s from your anger or something else you have no idea and frankly don’t care.

“What will surrendering give me? Will surrendering myself to you give me back all the memories I’ve lost? Will surrendering bring back my mother and father who were stolen away from me, by YOU? No, If I surrender I lose everything I have left! If I’m going to die I’m going to die trying to tear that mask you call a face from your head!!!!!”

With a flick of your wrist you chuck one of your Mauser blades into the nearby generator, all but slicing it into half. Distant gunfire and explosions begin to ring out almost immediately, undoubtedly Suzaku going straight back to work. But Zero doesn’t move, even as his plans begin to light fire and burn in his hands he doesn’t do anything.

Then he speaks.

“S-Shirley? What are you doing here? Why are you in that machine? Who-who did this to you?”

You trembling slows and you just laugh, cackling over the speakers as you begin to clap your hands, as if celebrating just how

“Why, you did of course! If it weren't for you Zero, I’d have my father, and my mother, and my friends! But now thanks to you, I don’t have anything. I don’t even have a school to come back too and even now as I try to save my friends, you’re here to take them away.”

You speak with an almost sickening cheerfulness as you continue to clap and laugh, each slap of your hands making Zero audibly shutter.

"But I'd be as big a liar as you are if I said you didn't give me something Mr. Zero. Because of you I learned how wonderful it is to kill people! At first I just wanted to kill you, but now...I want to kill a lot of people. It's not as bad as everyone makes it out to be, it's actually a lot of fun! Because when I kill someone, they disappear, and when they disappear, I can forget all about them..."

You feel a sudden, almost uncontrollable urge take over and you find your hands back on the controls, drawing out the V.A.R.I.S rifle.

"That reminds me...I REALLY want to forget you. So I guess it's time for you to disappear!"

You raise the VARIS rifle, your finger primed on the trigger, and a massive smile on your face.

This is the first time in a long time you've felt like yourself...

Guys, I'm not sure how I should feel when I say this, but Crosswire has brought out one of the nastiest sides in people I've ever seen a QM manage. We aren't luaghing when we ruin Lelouch's plans and enact the msot twisted sense of justice we can imagine on Shirely's behalf, we're grinning wide and tittering mad with every step we help her take towards the bloodiest resolution to her revenge.

>>
>>37171128
When writing can bring out such emotions for the character, it's usually very good writing.
>>
>>37171015
Lelouch was an odder mix of emotions then he normally was. On one hand he’d just turned his sister Cornelia into a traitor and murderer who would no doubt go down in history as such and was currently throwing away any sense of normality he had to his life. On the other, he had beaten the Britannian’s so badly that if this were a fist fight they would be urinating blood.

It was a crude analogy, especially for him, but that’s the way it felt and it was satisfying. How long had Britannian loomed over everyone? Unopposed, undefeated, and sneering down on everyone and anything they viewed as weaker than them. They hide behind honor and justice while they committed genocide at the drop of a hat!

Lelouch had waited for a long time with pent up hatred pent up inside of him, and after ten long years it was time to let it all out.

He was never one for psychology, the study of the mind only interested him in predicting the actions of others. Why people thought certain ways and what drove them to be who they were were of no interest to him. But if he had a therapist he would be the poorest man on Earth, because no amount of talking could ever give him the pleasure that beating Britannia into the ground could.

He was flying the Gawain away from Ashford, headed back to the Ikaruga to oversee the take over of the palace, when he noticed something below.

A Knightmare.

He’d received reports of an intruder from Tamaki, but he assumed the W-0 unit would be able to handle them given how they had sworn to throw away their lives in order to ensure Japan would become and stay free.

Upon closer examination however he say it was a Lancelot. Not quite the same model, the paint scheme and aesthetics were all wrong, but the shape and movement seemed to indicate they were of the same design.

“Another one? Like I had any love for the first…” Lelouch said with a sigh of utter irritation.

>(1/?)
>>
>>37171185
mitigating it through a mask on/mask off moment is thematic but it also takes away from her current expression

now if the mask is terrifying, I'm totally supportive of putting it on to let people know we mean business instead of investing the murder-princess persona into it
>>
>>37171216
“Oh relax.” C.C said with a mocking pat on the top of his head. “Last I checked they can’t replicate people. As long as Suzaku’s not at the controls who care’s who it is?”

“You’re right.” Lelouch smiled, confidence and reassurance welling within him. “My father himself could be in that machine and it would mean nothing to me right now. I’m on my way to victory, I’ve thought and planned for every possible event, nothing can go wrong.”

Flying in, Lelouch voiced his irritation at Tamaki’s uselessness over the speakers to give the pilot of the second hand Lancelot a chance to dodge before firing the Hadron Cannon’s of the Gawain.

"I wasn't expecting Suzaku to have a partner, but I'm willing to admit I'm wrong when I can correct those mistakes myself. I don't know who you are, but you're definitely not as good as Suzaku. Otherwise you wouldn't have gotten shot down. I'm feeling generous today, what with how Japan is about to be mine, I'll let you choose to surrender yourself or die doing something stupid and ultimately meaningless. So, what is it going to be?"
“Lelouch” C.C said, pressing her hand against her chest and breathing heavily. “Something is strange about that pilot…”

“Hmmm? Even if it is a Geass user, I can kill them with the press of a button. Nothing they can do or say will stop me.”

Lelouch waited as the previously limber machine stood stock still, staring up at him like an idiotic child watching their balloon float away.

“Well? What’s it going to be? Unlike you I have important things to do, and I’m being rather generous in not killing you this instant.”

Then a voice came out of the machine’s speakers, one filled with such hate and malice that Lelouch at first didn’t recognize it, or maybe he just didn’t want to recognize it.

>(1/?)
>>
>>37171241
“What will surrendering give me? Will surrendering myself to you give me back all the memories I’ve lost? Will surrendering bring back my mother and father who were stolen away from me, by YOU? No, If I surrender I lose everything I have left! If I’m going to die I’m going to die trying to tear that mask you call a face from your head!!!!!”

Lelouch could have easily pulled the trigger then, vaporized the machine before it disabled the generator, but he didn’t, he froze up from the sheer realization of what happened and allowed Suzaku to be freed by his indecision.

He just stared down at the blue machine, eyes wide, mouth agape, his mind racing to try and solve the horror that was placed before him. Was this a trick? Was that really Shirley? Had she been brainwashed or cloned, or maybe she had a identical twin…

“S-Shirley? What are you doing here? Why are you in that machine? Who-who did this to you?”

His question was filled with desperation and fear, so much so that his hands left the controls and C.C had to ensure the Gawain didn’t crash straight into the ground.

Then the laughing came, and the clapping. It reminded him of Mao and the moment where he was forced to use his Geass on Shirley…

And then it hit him.

“Why, you did of course! If it weren't for you Zero, I’d have my father, and my mother, and my friends! But now thanks to you, I don’t have anything. I don’t even have a school to come back too and even now as I try to save my friends, you’re here to take them away.”

“No.”

"That reminds me...I REALLY want to forget you. So I guess it's time for you to disappear!"

“Shirley, anyone but YOU!” Lelouch’s hands should have gone for the controls then and there, but he couldn’t. All the rage inside him had vanished and all that was left was the heavy, near crushing realization that this twisted, empty shell of a girl before him was his own creation.

He had created the devil.

It's more likely that C.C. just sensed that the person in the Lancelot Club had a Geass on them. She can generally sense when someone is a Geass user or is under the influence of a Geass.
>>
>>37171484
I think that doesn't cause her any sort of discomfort, and since Shirley's presence did, it was most certainly unnatural, or at very least unusual.
>>
Okay, okay, I'm just curious, but who else is ready for a school episode where Lelouch has to pretend he doesn't know while Shirley hasn't put the pieces together about her visceral reactions towards Lelouch?

I want it so bad, to see him recoil and hide trying to plan around the one thing he can't stop without breaking a person he cares for even further. I want to watch from over Shirley's shoulder as she struggles to go on living right in front of him.

Even more, I want to know if the school heard and what their reaction is if they did.

Who else wants this?
>>
>>37171547
Thinks it's because she's resisting a geass which is unheard of. She gets her full memory back she might become a code.

>>37171559
It'd be amusing and yes I want to know if they heard.

which rases another interesting point - assuming that Lelouch used his geass on the Gods and they went along with it, does resisting his command make Shirley something more?

Breaking the laws of existence should get you pretty far, remember he was capable of geassing god.

>>37171621
No it makes her like a code IE untouchable (at least by his geass) Since she still exists in the stream as well he can't wish her away. In fact her existence no sells his geassing god.
>>
>>37171621
From what I recall, the Gods/Collective Unconscious already kind of wanted what Lelouch was asking it to do anyway. He was basically commanding them "don't just sit there and let someone kill you". So it might not be a fair point of comparison. Still, it is fairly interesting.
>>
>>37171686
euphy was able to surpress his comand for a moment
>>
>>37171686
So wait, when Lelouch said, what was it?
>"Forget all about me"
Shirley forgot about Lelouch, but not Zero, and mentally copypasta'd Zero's face over everything wrong Lelouch did to her?

All I've been able to gather is that the geass works slightly different in this version and Shirley has a deathgrip on Zero's injustices towards her
>>
>>37171749
I Believe Crosswire said the command was just "Forget", and that is where this timeline split off from the original.
>>
Actually, it seeme that it split even before that, when she emptied an entire clip into Viletta!
>>
>>37171783
Yes.
>>
>>37171740
Because Lelouch's accidental command ("Kill all the Japanese") went against Euphemia's fundamental core being. That's why she was able to initially resist for a few seconds. She still succumbed to the geass, though, leading Lulu to lament that no one can resist his geass.
>>
>>37171783
ah, that would explain the deathgrip of justice
>>
>>37171749
He said "Forget" causing her to lose all her memories in this continuity. She got some of them back thanks to Doc Pailsen but still doesn't know who zero is even though she has seen his face.

>>37171740
Still months of it versus a few seconds.
>>
>>37171801
Well, that's just how we remember it. It's possible that Viletta is still alive. We just don't know yet.

The drugs do not restore any memories, Pailsen said so himself. It seems to me that what little we remembered, we did on our own... with a bit of refrain maybe.

>>
>>37171891

>>
>>37171881
well, if she's alive, it's also possible that she still hasn't recovered her memories. As I said, we just don't know.
>>
>>37171904
Why not just blind him?
>>
>>37171951
that would be cruel!
>>
So what happens when Shirley finds out the boy she loved did this to her in that bittersweet confession I'm sure will come about since Crosswire seems to be the best of fans for CLAMP's delicious melodrama.

As much as I support the current roaring rampage of revenge, I can't see it continuing all the way through to absolute cold blood once the revelation comes all the way through.

I can't see Shirley in any state of mind but Charles' Geass going for the kill one Lelouch mans up and confronts the problem like a healthy human being should...

Oh no, we're going to drive the dagger in and then rip off his mask, aren't we?

I don't think I can handle another bittersweet ending after Meta Game Quest.

But she doesn't remember Lelouch. And just mentioning his name and thinking of him gives her a headache. I think if he trys too hard to make her remember, without the help of any other Geass, she'll just start to have an episode or go berserk.

>Hey, gym teacher! We need an extra body for our swimsuit competition! Wanna join us?

>>
>>37172049
The conclusion was that on a subconscious level, Shirley knows Zero is Lelouch. She hasn't put two and two together because every time she tries, she gets a killer headache.
>>
>>37172068
That is what I meant. I should have clarified that she only remembers Lelouch subconsciously.
>>
>>37172049
>>37172068

Oh shit, she'd just kill him without a fucking care in the world, his identity doesn't even matter past knowing another way to find and torture him.

That's not even sad, that's just... I don't know. I still want to see Lelouch suffer for Shirley's sake, but I'm kind of terrified of what the resolution of this quest is going to be.

"Shirley, was that you out there in the Knightmare, have you really forgotten us all?"

"Most of it," she looked at the ground as Milly fussed over her, everyone else had cloistered around them, faces uncomfortable comparing the sweet and soft-spoken girl they knew to the raving pilot they'd heard call out Zero the previous day, "I was able to get a little of my memory back, but I had to..."

"The medication you're taking, but that's good right? You're starting to remember things, eventually you'll-"

"I had to use Refrain," Shirley said, suddenly spitting that ugly name out in front of everyone; there, it was done, "my medication is just an experimental derivative, weak enough that I won't risk addiction, but strong enough to keep everything I have left from slipping away again."

"Shirley!"

Milly looked about to respond as tears welled up in her eyes and the eyes of several others, but That Man in his black suit stepped through the wall of people. Lelouch wasn't crying, he didn't think he could after everything, but his face was torn. Shirley edged behind Milly, using the taller girl to shield herself from him, her face a rictus of pain and animosity, but behind it, something about Lelouch's distraught face lifted her mood and made her fingers itch to be back in her Lancelot Club, ending the lives of the Black Knights.

"Shirley," he began again, eyes pleading for something, asking a question he couldn't begin to voice her among everyone, "how can we- how can I help you, Shirley, what can I do, anything, to help you get through this..." he'd almost said 'insanity', and had to bite his tongue to prevent that word from slipping out, "through this."

"Lelouch, right?"

"Yes!" his face turned upwards that she could remember his name.

"You can go away, the sight of you makes me sick to my stomach, I hate every second I have to even hear your voice."
>>
>>37172936
"What?" everyone said, disbelief plain, some aloud, others under their breath; they'd all skirted the issue before, but hearing it stated so plainly begged the question.

"Actually, Shirley," Tamaki spoke up, a frown crossing his normally care-free face, "you two were close enough that the Madam President was holding a betting pool on when you'd officially hook up..."

Milly smiled down at the girl in her arms bashfully, "You really don't remember anything about Lelouch, dear?"

"I don't believe you, I could never like someone like him, especially not in that kind of way."

Everyone turned to see His reaction, the moments when Lelouch was caught unprepared were so few and far between that to most people it was like watching a car wreck- you just had to watch it- but Lelouch had managed to slip away before anyone noticed.

Shirley didn't really care either way, merely glad to be rid of that splitting headache his presence always caused her.
